Examples Of Friar Lawrence
In the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, I believe that Friar Lawrence is responsible for Juliet s and
Romeo s death. To begin, Friar Lawrence was the person who married Romeo and Juliet, hoping
that the feud between their families would end. Thy love did read by rote, that could not spell.
But come, young waverer, come go with me. In one respect I ll thy assistant be; for this alliance
may so happy prove to turn your households rancor to pure love. (Romeo and Juliet 2.3.96 100)
Romeo goes to Friar Lawrence for advice and he agrees to assist him. In their plan of Romeo and
Juliet getting married, Friar Lawrence believes that the two young kids could stop the hate
between the two families. The last line says For this alliance may so happy prove to turn your...

In order to do this plan, Juliet would take a potion and wake up right before getting married to
Romeo. Hold, daughter, I do spy a kind of hope, which craves as a desperate an execution as that
is desperate which we would prevent. (4.1.75 77)In these two lines, Friar Lawrence is saying
that there is hope in the situation they are dealing with. He is also saying that they can prevent
the execution by following his plan. As Juliet hears him, she decides that she would take the
potion as long as it can prevent Romeo from getting hurt or executed. Finally, Friar Lawrence
decided to write a letter informing Romeo what was going on. Instead of himself giving the
letter, he made somebody else give it to Romeo. By doing this, it caused many problems,
resulting in Romeo and Juliet dying. Within this three hours will fair Juliet wake. She will
beshrew me much that Romeo Hath had no notice of the accidents; But I will write to Mantua,
and keep her at my cell till Romeo come (5.3.26 30)In three hours Juliet will wake up. Friar

The Impact of the Affordable Care Act on the Health Care...
Affordable Care Act s Impact On The Health Care Industry If you ve lived in the United States,
there is no way the topic of Affordable Care Act(ACA) could be evaded. Its on the news, its on the
streets, its everywhere! For the general public the ACA stands for complete health coverage and
cheaper insurance premiums. For the healthcare Industry however, whether Hospitals, Health care
delivery models, Insurance Companies, Pharmaceutical and Biotech Industries, the ACA poises a
huge reform in the delivery of services and products. The ACA or commonly known as Obamacare
or the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act(PPACA) hopes to improve accessibility and
quality while reducing costs.
Value Based Purchasing The existing reimbursement... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ACO s will be reimbursed based on keeping the population which comes under the Medicaid
healthy. The success of the model will result in an extension of the model for other services such as
medicare and insurance providers.
Medicaid Improving Coverage The medicaid hopes to expand its coverage to people under the
poverty line with a 400% coverage. Under the new law, medicaid would cover a family who earns
less than $29,700 annually. This means that medicaid could cover 21.3 million Americans by 2020
if the States opt to do so.
The Spiral Effect The reasons for the rising prices has been noted by health economists and the
term Spiral Effect was coined. Since uninsured and underinsured opt out of receiving timely care,
the disease gets aggravated. Since first aid for emergency care is complimentary for everyone in the
United States, people use this under the direst of circumstances. When emergency care is sought at
this point, it becomes expensive and the hospital tends to write off this amount because the
patients would be unable to pay. To make up for the lost money, the hospital increases the cost for
the insurance company who in turn increases for the insurance buyers. The coverage for all policy
by the ACA will be able to decrease the spiral effect of healthcare.

Descriptive Essay About A Art Museum
Art Museum When I went to the museum there were beautiful and amazing art that I really
enjoy. My first impression when I walked in was wow and how they made all this. I also
thought who came up with these design. There were many crazy and funny looking designs I
really liked. I enjoyed the one with a big rock in the middle and sand around it. It was really
simple but had so much meaning to it. I was pleased on how the staffs showed us around and
treated us. They were interested on how we liked and didn t like the art there. There were so
much fancy art there but one caught my eyes. Which was the picture of the flying babies. They
told me the flying babies had the power to heal and to do good in the world. When the battles
came they would sent them after all the soldiers needed help. If I had the power to heal people
or myself that s what I would do. I also got to see the very old coins collections. I got to see a very
special thing which was butterflies and moths on the wall. There were probably about thousand of
each butterflyand moths. They were made of metal it was very unique. There was another special
room we got to go in which was called the flashing lights. It was amazing and gorgeous. It was
blacked out and it was like a maze in the dark. For a few seconds some lights would flash on and
off which made it awesome. The top three artsthat really interested me were the 3D box, the man
made out legos and the man on the wall. My first art

The Importance Of Historical Aspects Of Death And Dying
The Importance of Historical Aspects of Death and Dying for Nurses The field of nursing has
always been one with constant evolution. From the early days on the battlefields, farms and homes
to current events that occur in the hospital, nursing has always had challenges to face. Death and
dying, in particular, has evolved from private settings to publicly passing away in a hospital or
nursing home. This paper will focus on defining and discussing the historical aspects of deathand
dying, presenting the current functions and roles of the hospicenurse, why it is important for nurses
to know this valuable information and how this knowledge shapes the future of nursing.
Past History of Nursing and Definitions It is necessary to define and discuss the history, in
particular, the American experience of dying and death. The United States (US) has not always
had hospitals for which the ill and dying go to be cared for. Prior to the civil war, death was
considered a private matter (Leming Dickinson, 2016). The only indication a person passed
away was the tolling of the church bells or the symbolic gravestone on a family s property.
Weatherford (2010) states that the Civil War and the contributions from Clara Barton, initiated a
standard of care as well as a central location for delivering care. Before hospitals were common in
the US, one hundred percent of patient care was performed at the home or on the battlefield. Wives
and mistresses of the soldiers followed the camps

The Weather in San Francisco and Corporal by Richard...
Richard Brautigan s short fiction stories incorporate protagonists that are recognizably
fictionalized versions of the author himself. He writes in order to extract his own struggles of the
past and the difficulties of discovering himself in the present. Through the characters in The
Weather in San Francisco and Corporal, the portrayal of his optimistic view of life as a
consequence of the rigors of daily life, and the use of symbols, Brautigan presents his personal story
through the words on the paper.
The characters in Brautigan s stories The Weatherin San Francisco and Corporal exemplify similar
interpretations of the author and his own life stories. As an author early on, Brautigan became self

The boy didn t want to be seen with any stripes besides the ones of a general. However, he never
did get the general stripes. He instead, with confidence, admitted defeat and entered it (Brucker 7).
His willingness to accept defeat with a head held high rather than sulking on the disappointments

Through the usage of symbols in his writing, Brautigan expresses profound aspects of his life.

Job Sharing This facility involves splitting a full time job between two employees who share job
responsibility, compensation and benefits. Employees who specially require to take care of
their children, infants or their aging parents may find this policy highly beneficial. Cognizant
also encourages its employees to usually share job on daily basis so that employees develop
mutual understanding and that in turn can help to get high productivity from them creating a
team feeling in them. Daily basis constitutes of morning and evening shifts where most of the
time industry is customer facing or manufacturing, where long working hours are required and
employees have to work 50 60 hours a week and eventually get dissatisfies from their daily work.
The job sharing policy helps them to ease out from this monotonous environment and regain

Theme Of The Orphan Master s Son
What if everything you knew was a fabrication of reality and the only escape for you or your
loved ones was sacrifice? This is the basis for The Orphan Master s Son, a book by Adam
Johnson that details the lives and lies of North Korea. Focusing on a misidentified orphan by the
name of Pak Jun Do, The Orphan Master s Son chronicles the life of Pak Jun Do, as he maneuvers
the strict rules of the North Korean government in order to live another day. Throughout the novel,
Jun Do endures a tough life under a merciless tyrant and a suffering father, remains loyal to his
oppressors despite their torment, learns to accept his position in society no matter where he is
taken, and inevitably exposed to the truth of his reality. These four themes... Show more content on

/ And oh, it would have been a great job of killing and a new and beautiful thing under the sun if
the million knew why they hacked and tore each other to death (124). Both the workmen in the
poem and Jun Do are victims of ignorance, as they suffer for a purpose they do not quite
understand. This ignorance is vocalized by the Captain, who, when confronting Jun Do about
coming up with a story for the Dear Leader, claims that ... no one ever taught [Jun Do] about
family and sacrifice and doing whatever it takes to protect your own (83). By not truly
understanding why his father acts in the cruel way he does, he is not able to learn what it is
truly like to have a loving family. This is the same for the young workmen, who, by fighting in
ignorance, will never be able to understand the true purpose of their troubles and will never learn
of the true outcome of war orchestrated by the grinning kings and the living kaiser and czar (124).
Regardless of their ambiguity and misdirection, like the young workmen, Jun Do continues to show
loyalty to his tyrants and oppressors. Loyalty Throughout the beginning of the novel, Jun Do shows
unwavering loyalty to his despots, despite their cruel treatment of him and his awful living
conditions. This draws parallels to the poem Rye Whiskey by an anonymous author which details
the narrator s loyalty and unwavering addiction to rye whiskey, even though it has only lead him to
his downfall (273). Like rye whiskey, Jun Do

Research Paper On Gang Affiliation
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to understand, acknowledge and challenge communities to
recognize gang behavior and gang affiliation. This paper will also describe the culture and what
it means to be in a gang; key findings of the research; recommendations the community can
employ to remedy the need; and discussions and implications for further study. Keywords:
African American, Black men, Hip hop, Rap music, Nigga There are approximately 27,900
gangs, with 774,000 members, impacting towns, cities, and communities across the United
States. Gangs conduct criminal activity in all 50 states and U.S. territories. Although most gang
activity is concentrated in major urban areas, gangs also are proliferating in rural and suburban
areas of the country as gang members flee increasing law enforcement pressure in urban areas or
seek more lucrative drug markets. This proliferation in non urban areas increasingly is
accompanied by violence and is threatening society in general (Decker, 1996). The code of the
street is silence and to snitch is death. Everyone within Calliope projects knows this so no one
talks, not even to the police. In the distance music from a radio playing Hand on pump finger on

Compare And Contrast Lady Macbeth And Elizabeth The Golden...
Elizabeth the golden age an Oscar nominated award directed by Shekhar Kapur relates strongly to
William Shakespeare s Macbeth in many ways, such as how characters from each text relate to one
another, how similar themes are explored in both productions and how both revolve around the
same period, the Elizabethan period. However, the overarching similarity between the two is that,
in both Macbethand Elizabeth: The Golden Age, women hold power in their societies, whether it be
through their own ambition or through the natural order. Women in both the film and the play can
exert political power in male dominated societies, and to some extent in both theatre productions,
powerful women are born into their social and political status, but despite this, women must still to
some extent get rid of their feminist characteristics to fulfil this power, and thus the female
characters from each text differs in the outcome they meet due to their actions.
While women in both texts can indeed wield political power in patriarchal societies, the two texts
differ in the outcome the female characters meet because of this power. Both Lady Macbeth and
Queen Elizabeth I see their place as a vehicle for power and control in their societies. Lady Macbeth
can reach her power through manipulation of Macbeth, questioning his masculinity, thus resulting
in him feeling threatened, and forced to commit the acts he did, when you durst do it, then you
were a man. While in Elizabeth: The Golden Age Mary

Massachusetts Colonies Compare And Contrast
The colonies of Jamestown, Plymouth, and Massachusetts Bay each were different by nature,
goals, successes, and failures. There were numerous similarities as well as differences.
However, each colony was looking for something better that was missing in their main land.
Members of each colony had a vision of what they expected the New World to look like. When
they arrived, they were given a sense of reality. Each colony had challenges that it would have to
overcome to thrive as a new establishment in the New World. The three colonies succeeded at
different levels in the New World. The English migrated to the New World around the
early1600s.I feel as though the laws and ideas of the colonists from this century have formed
American into what it is today. The first establishment of the New World was Jamestown in
1607. This colony was founded by King James I. King James sent merchants and adventurers
that were looking to profit from land and wealth to the New World just as the Spaniards did in
Mexico and Peru. The London Company issued a Virginia charter to form plantations in
Virginia. This was lead by Sir Thomas Smith, one of the wealthiest merchants aboard the ships to
the New World. There were approximately 104 settlers that arrived on a peninsula along the
James River. These settlers wanted to make a profit to take back to England. This peninsula was
known as Jamestown. The colonists in this low lying swamp area was stricken with disease,
contaminated drinking water, and was attacked by Spaniards or Native Americans. This was a
serious threat to the early settlers of Jamestown. Those that came to the New World were mainly
men. The majority of the population was men. They outnumbered the women six to one.
Jamestown needed male labors to attend to the large plantation used for farming. There was no
sense of community due to the lack of women settlers. Jamestown s government focused more on
the survival of the colony rather than religion. Jamestown would not have survived had it not been
for the strong leadership capabilities of Captain John Smith. He brought order out of anarchy
(Brands, 2009, p. 35). Captain John Smith traded with the Indians for food. Smith was later saved
from execution by an Indian

Why Did Rene Descartes Do Not Exist
Rene Descartes was a French mathematician, whose reasoning concurs with Plato and other early
theologians about the significance of reasoning. However, Descartes differed with his
predecessors about mode of establishing ideas. According to Descartes the predecessors
established ideas basing on what he considered to be somewhat uncertain and had shaky
foundation (Mitchell, 2015). Thus, for him, he started the unique project by putting in
consideration that everything he thinks he knows comes as a result of due time sense experience.
Therefore, Descartes in this projects assumes that not everything we thinks is right is always
correct, some time we deceives ourselves. For instance, he uses an example of a road appearing
wet because of light tricks.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In current and practical world, people should not assume that their beliefs are always right. Every
human being must follow Descartes steps to ensure that all beliefs are certain to avoid wrong
beliefs that may mislead someone. Similarly, on understanding human body and mind basing on
empiricism, I will apply David Hume s technique. The main reason why I will use Hume s theory
is that it simplifies everything. For instance, human inquiry is divided into two main categories;
matters of fact and relations of idea. The two concepts are vital in solving the mind body

Importance Of Fair Trade Movement
Trade is the act of buying and selling goods and services. This idea of trade became popular
globally, starting the fair trade movement. According to FINE in 2001, fair trade is defined as a
trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency, and respect that seeks greater equity in
international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions
to, and securing the rights of, marginalized producers and workers especially in the South (Moore,
Wilkinson, Redfern Snedker). The fair trademovement originated in the late nineteenth century. It
began as charitable organizations and political solidarity trading with poor communities in the
1940s until it expanded to become a movement in the 1960s 1970s. The movement was officially
created when the leading traders and importers joined forces from multiple different countries. The
movement was created to to import goods for trade. Fair trade organizations (backed by consumers)
are engaged actively in supporting producers, awareness raising and in campaigning for changes in
the rules and practice of conventional international trade (Moore 73 74). The importance of the fair
trade movement can be explained by the foundation of the movement, the goals of the movement,
the obstacles of the movement, current organizations who follow the movement, and the overall
movement itself. To begin, the fair trade movement can be understood by its organizations being
divided into four groups called the

Becoming Transgender In The United States
n these past few years we have seen a great deal of change in the United States. From the
legalization of gay marriage, and or the legalization of marijuana. These are things that people in the
past would think are things that should not be legalized but times change. Lately, many people not
in conform with their biological genderhave been becoming the opposite sex, a transgender. Some of
the most recent well known cases of becoming transgender have to be Bruce Jenner and Rodrigo

I can say this from experience because I have seen transgender people at stores, and all they do is
stare at me. It gets to the point where I just want to leave because they make me so
uncomfortable. I recall going to ,my locker about a month ago with my friend during fifth
period. As we were going back to our classroom, a girl walks by and naturally a teenage boy will
look at her body. I told my friend, she is kind of hot , to which he replied, you do know she is
transgender? I was pretty much socked and was really condues. Now I have no problem with
her but what she did was uncomfortable. As she passed between us, she was lifting her shirt and
touching her but. I was uncomfortable because I tend to see women as people who are
respectful and don t do that kind of stuff. The girl did = not show any private parts but she did
make me uncomfortable. This brings me to the article, when a lawsuit in Minnesota was placed.
The transgender which is labeled, Student X , was lifting her clothes and asking to trade body
parts. Obviously this would make her peers uncomfortable. What makes it all the ,most weird, is
that people consider what this girl did as something all girls do. While some girls may dance
inappropriately, I am almost positive girls don t talk about trading body

Advantages Of English Language Teaching
INTRODUCTION
In India, parents choose English as the medium of instruction for their children because English is
the language of computers, language of business, language of science and technology and the list
is endless. By grasping the mind set of the parents and societal needs, the schools in India try to be
monolingual by aspiring to fulfil the wish and objective of the parents. But the Indian societies are
multilingual and hence the children who hail from diverse background fail to adapt to changes. The
children who have been trained to think in their mother tongue feel depressed and agitated when

Mehmed The Conqueror And The Ottoman Sultans
Introduction Mehmed the Conqueror and the Ottoman sultans who followed him desired Topkapi
Palace to convey the power, wealth, and religiousness of the Ottoman household. Unlike many other

this is the Arabic inscription on The Imperial Gate in Topkapi Palace. The gate itself was

Topkapi palace displays the wealth of the ottoman household. Porcelain can be found in the
palace. Also there are jade colored plates in the palace, but for a very morbid reason: the sultans
were always in fear of getting assassinated, and they thought the plates would change color if the
food was poisonous. Inside the palace there also was the Topkapi dagger. The topkapi dagger
was a dagger made out of emerald. There was also the spoonmaker s diamond, which is one of
the largest cut diamonds in the world, according to Britannica Academic. Another example of the
wealth of topkapi palace is the size of it. Topkapi palace is 172 acres.

order to succeed in this campaign, it is important that you get familiar with Japan and also how their

the structure of the Japanese government. After the World II Japan replaced their Meiji constitution

symbol of the state with no power. (NYU, 2006). Moreover, the Japanese Government consists of
three branches including, the Executive branch, the legislative branch and the Judicial branch.
Executive power consists of the Prime Minister and other ministers who complete the Cabinet. On

Leonardo Da Vinci s Influence On Aviation
Flight Physics
Leonardo da Vinci improved our knowledge of flight by persisting and following his dreams
even though we still today have yet to comprehend the full meaning of flight and how it works.
Due to his never ceasing effort, we now have a vast variety of flying machines and thanks to his
passion to this impossible feat, it seems as if we can do anything when it comes to flight
Leonardo da Vinci was Famous for many things In his lifetime from painting the Mona Lisa to
making the first tank, But probably the most interesting and fascinating thing about him was his
view on aviation. he did many things to improve his knowledge of flight. he invented many things

was a major success as it is still being used today as a tool for the military and a source of
excitement! (5 things Leonardo da Vinci did to change the world, ZME Science, 2008) His
ornithopter influenced modern day planes and how they functioned. So in effect, if it was not
for da Vinci then the planes we know today wouldn t exist. Leonardo da Vinci was so far ahead
of his time, many of his creations came a little too early in history to be viewed as practical by
his contemporaries. For example, he was fascinated by the idea that technology could put the man
in flight. He designed an early hang glider that could have functioned had it ever been
constructed. Although he outlined the plans for the world s first helicopter, the machine could
not have flown as the propellers turned against the direction of the rotors. His inspirations led
him to design the world s first parachute. In the long run, leonardo da vinci did so much more
than just change the world of aviation for generations to come, he changed the world by leading
others to follow in his footsteps. Leonardo da Vinci is a prime example of inspiration, courage, and

Video Games and Violence Essay
Video games and Violence Like any other thing in the world video games have positive and
negative aspects too. According to a study, those who spend hours and hours in playing civic
games were found to take more part in different community services like social work, politics or
protests, as compared to those who never took interest in video games. Hence video games are
proved to increase one s social interaction skills. The kind of friendship and ethics those are
knowledgeable by the young gamers while playing video games provide evidence that they are not

group they were intended for, it is thought to actually be beneficial. Violent entertainment is
considered by many psychologists to have therapeutic or calming abilities (Heins, 9). This is
due to it being used as a release. Is it not better to come home from a frustrating day at work and
beat up a few baddies on Street Fighter II rather than throttle your boss to death? After an act of
violence by a child or teen though, video games seem to be the easiest scapegoat for the media to
grab onto. Many news reports focus on how the kid liked to play video games , overlooking or
not even mentioning other factors that would have more understandably lead to the act, like social
isolation, lack of a family structure, or even psychological unbalance (Sternheimer, 16). They also
never consider that perhaps these kids play enormously violent games for the reason that they are
violent, because of these reasons of neglect (Sternheimer, 15). For children video games are usually

About Myer Holdings Limited
Myer Holdings Limited Introduction As stated by Weller (2007) Australia s textile industry has
seen a steady growth from 1970s to date, which makes it one of the major contributors to the
economic development of the nation and a greater source of employment opportunity. The
industry is unique from other markets around the world specifically from European and U.S.
markets. This unique arrangement of the Australian space economy frequently contributes to
several barriers for many clothing firms which has intention to establish in Australia. However,
Australia s population within most urban centers is very less density which creates a lot of
obstacles for any firm investing in Australia to make a nationwide market. Additionally, most of
the clothing industries operating in Australia, one or two companies are specialized in the
production of a lot of products which are normally sold at the national level, again a good
number of smaller clothing companies work in local, in cities or within the state territories. The
diversity of the market looks more fruitful for companies to serve in a specialized niche market
and to build a number of semi monopolistic market spaces. Clothing market and some of the
similar industries in Australia are always determined by the climatic condition and people s
lifestyle. This decides how the people spend on clothing and the kind of clothes which normally

Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare revolves around two men: Marcus Brutus, and, of course,
Julius Caesar. Given the name of the play, one would think it is Julius Caesar s play, but that may
not be true. Sure, the play is named after Caesar, but is it really his play? Brutus is encompasses
the whole play, whereas Caesar dies in Act III. Even though, given the evidence for Brutus, Julius
Caesar is Caesar s play because of the historical context and his overall looming presence
throughout the play. While the play is dramatized for effect, it is exceptionally historically
accurate. As a whole, Caesar s personality is the same in the play as in real life. On the other hand,

The Importance Of Media Writing
Introduction Authors of the book, Reaching Audiences, 6th Ed. (K. McAdams, J. Yopp, 2013),
describe four essential qualities necessary for effective and appropriate media writing.
Consequently, a four pronged approach must include accuracy, clarity, completeness, and fairness,
within the writing process. Additionally, professional writers, Katherine McAdams and Jan Yopp,
further explain: Writing that is accurate, clear, complete, and fair has a better chance of holding
audiences, particularly those who might be clicking through websites or leafing through
magazines (2013). Moreover, writers must create engaging articles as readers are bombarded
with competing news stories from a variety of sources, on a daily basis. Therefore, capturing
readers attention is only the beginning of the intended goal for writers. The next important step is
keeping readers engaged by ensuring there are no grammatical errors; writing in a simple
language; satisfying the reader by answering questions; and, by striving to be objective. In the end,
a writers task is to incorporate the four essential elements of effective and appropriate media writing
within the writing process.
Analyzing News Articles Obviously, business owners and individuals tune in to the news when the
issue of tax cuts is raised by the government. Yet, individuals and many news reports are
skeptical of a tax plan proposed by Congress. While the administration promises a middle class
tax cut, an article published on businessinsider.com disagrees, as the title exclaims: Here s how
the Trump tax plan would raise taxes on many middle income families (J. Barro, 2017).
Effectively, contents of the proposal as well as its probable effect on businesses and individuals are
reported in debt in the written piece by Josh Barro. As a result, his analysis confirms that businesses
will benefit from the proposed tax cuts. However, upon further assessment, the final breakdown for
individuals is not so positive. In other words, individual tax payers will see their tax bill increase
under the new proposal. Accordingly, research performed by other online news outlets confirms this
reporting, including; salon.com, washingtonpost.com, cnn.com, and forbes.com. In

Essay on Marriage in the Victorian Age
Many people believe that marriage is important in this day and age, but it holds little significance
compared to the importance of marriage in the Victorian era. In the Victorian era women were to
get married to a man of the same or a better social status, be good wives, and be a mother to her
husband s children. Very few marriages started with love, but a womans life is not complete without
being married. Over time, the role of married women has evolved a great deal and they now have
rights and privileges. John Stuart Millwas one of the great thinkers of the Victorian era, and his

Feminists ought to get a good whipping. Were woman to unsex themselves by claiming equality
with men, they would become the most hateful, heathen and disgusting of beings and would surely
perish without male protection (Moore).
There are many different reasons why women got married in the Victorian era. First and foremost
was due to the lack of education. Women were usually uneducated or were taught only basic
responsibilities. If a woman had too much education, Victorians thought that it would weaken
their womb and deform their bodies (Moore). From early childhood, girls were taught that they
should get married and have children when they get older (Hamilton). The little education that
women got was received mostly at home. There were some boarding schools, but there was no
university for women to attend. The studies that a girl would learn were French, drawing,
dancing, music, and how to use globes. If the boarding school was interested in teaching any
practical skills, girls would learn plain sewing as well as embroidery, and accounts. Through
knowledge and education a woman could have had a better sense of self worth and pride. On the
contrary, boys were well educated at home by a tutor until they were old enough to attend public

(Lotze et al., 2006). Intentional or unintentional, it matters not, ocean exploitation and
degradation is an ongoing crisis. One solution that has been proposed to assist in averting our
oceans crises is the further implementation of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). To define Marine
Protected Area, it is a discrete geographic area of the sea established by international, national,
territorial, tribal, or local laws designated to enhance the long term conservation of natural
resources therein. The term and idea has been around for a few decades and is continuously

small ocean zones that are established with a goal of improving ocean health, increasing the
abundance of marine life, and increasing the diversity of marine life. MPAs are a sort of ocean
resource sustainability practice. The protected areas are placed into one of three major categories.
Marine reserves are fully protected ocean areas. No activities that remove flora or fauna or alter

How Did Thomas Paine Use Ethos In The Crisis No 1
No Paine, No Gain Heralded as the leader of a new age of philosophy and eventual rebellion,
Thomas Paine gave way to the birth of America and its subsequent constitution. Presenting his
views in The Crisis, No 1, he explicitly petitions for a call to arms and separation from the
motherland. His associate Patrick Henry wrote the Virginia Convention, detailing a similar
argument for independence, albeit to a lesser impact on American colonists. The Crisis, No 1 is
more persuasive than the Virginia Convention because its author employs logos and pathos to
push Americans to continue the fight against Britain. To begin with, Paine uses a multitude of
logos specific arguments. Toward the end of the piece he describes the present army which gives
the readers a justified hope in the American militia. He writes, ВЁOnce more we are again

Language is one of the most powerful mediums in the human world, and not only can language
be expressed through words, but also visually and musically. Language is everything from words
that are spoken and the silence that lies between one phrase and the next. I find out odd how in
our culture, we try to label things black and white. It s either this or it s that, yet when there s
something lacking in language, we try to assign colors to it instead of letting things be how they

I must have spent a total of 10 minutes looking at that picture, even though there isn t much to it.
Even though it is a color picture, there isn t too much color associated with it. The overall
language that I get from this picture is pain. This is a really difficult picture to talk about
especially because it s a picture of me, but I think it became easier to talk about it and its
language because I didn t remember when the picture was taken. I also asked a few of my peers
to give me their overall impression of the picture and it was exactly the same as my impression of
the picture. They glanced at it then glanced at it again, noticing me off center. Then they spent a
few good moments looking at my expression and body language.
The second medium that I chose is a song by Sarah McLachlan. The song is called Angel . It is a
fairly simple song consisting of only a piano and her singing. There is no real intricate beats or
rhythms, and the song is really clear. Anytime I listen to it, I have to listen to it maybe three or
four times just to get the feel of it. I would categorize this song as black and white, but I find
myself trying to assign colors to the song, as well as texture and smell. From listening to the song,
I get the image of a rainy day towards the beginning, then the rainy day gradually changing to the
sun breaking through the clouds. When she starts singing the chorus, I feel like rays from the sun
are starting to break through

Saint Francis Of Assisi Essay
ASSISI, ITALY Every day He humbles Himself just as He did when from from His heavenly
throne into the Virgin s womb; every day He comes to us and lets us see Him in lowliness, when
He descends from the bosom of the Father into the hands of the priest at the altar. ― Francis of
Assisi Those were the famous words of Saint Francis of Assisi (1181 1226), a Roman Catholic
friar signifying the essence of Assisi a sacred destination, which covers the revered relics of St.
Francis and picturesque frescoes of his entire life. A small town located in the central part of the
Italy, Assisi is the second most popular pilgrimage site of Italy and a major destination of Catholic

Caesar Augustus Essay
Caesar Augustus the man who found Rome a city of bricks and left it a city of marble. Caesar
Augustus, one of the strongest and most strategic leaders in roman history, but this was all much
later in his life, he started off in a very poor state yet through hard work and determination he came
out on top to be known throughout the generations.
Around 71 B.C.,a few years before Augustus was born, Gaius Octavius started pursuing a job
within the senate, but because of his latin instead of roman descent the pursuit of the job was
very difficult for him. He continued pursuing the job in senate till around 70 B.C. when he won
a quaestorship, a lower place in the government that entails supervising tax collection and doing
special tasks for consuls in Rome, and joined the senate. Based on his latin descent winning a
questorship was no small feat so it was no surprise when he was offered a spouse from one of
Rome s great trician clans. The only problem with this was he was already married to Ancharia
who is not very well recorded in history so people have no firm evidence for why Gaius Octavius
suddenly married Atia, a member of the Julian family making Julius Caesar his great uncle.
Together Atia and Gaius had two children, Octavius the younger and Gaius Octavian, named after
his father, along with the one from Ancharia the second of the two being who we know as Augustus.
When Augustus was born he was very lucky because according to Augustus: the Life of Rome s

The Principle Of The Common Law Legal System
Omission is a phrase that is only used correctly when there is a failure to commit an act, or do a
minimal act to which a reasonable person may be expected to do. This essay will show that the
exceptions added to the checklist of omissions should exist, and argue that having no liability for
omissions is defensible.
Firstly, the core principle of the common law legal system involves the principle of legality, also
known as the Rule of Law. Ensuring that no one is superior to law, and establishing that no
person can be punished retroactively by the state; expressed by Lord Bingham No one should be
punished for any act which was not clearly and ascertainably punishable when the act was done .
This principle is set within the English legal system in order to assert fairness and justice. The
exceptions are set in place in order to ensure this principle is upheld, by asserting a duty of care for
certain situations.
One of these exceptions includes the duty of a parent to a child. Section 1 of the Children and
Young Persons Act 1933, created a liability for parents who neglect their child which leads to
harm or death. Gibbins and Proctor, is the leading legal authority on this exception, where
Gibbins and his second wife (Proctor) had failed to feed Gibbin s daughter. Although, Gibbins
was the provider for the family, and gave money to his wife in order to feed her; Proctor hated his
daughter and at trial this was seen as motive for not feeding her. Darling J declared

The Cove Documentary Analysis
A documentary is defined as a nonfiction motion picture intended to document some aspect of
reality, for the purpose of education or maintaining a historical record . Documentaries throughout
history have covered a wide range of topics, including animal rights and the issues surrounding it.
The documentary The Cove (2009), directed by Louis Psihoyos, examines and questions dolphin
hunting practices in Taiji, Japan. The filmscrutinises Japanese fishing practices and the Japanese
government s involvement in the International Whaling Commission, from an ocean
conservationist s point of view. Blackfish (2013), directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite, focuses on
the consequences of keeping orcas in captivity. The film highlights the story of Tilikum, a
SeaWorld orca who has killed three... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both of the films use similar styles of music to evoke similar emotions in the audience. For
example, when the animals in both The Cove and Blackfish are shown free in the wild,
wondrous music is played. Both films used a mixture of piano, harps and violin to create a
feeling of elation in the audience. The use of music in this way helps the audience to associate
that feeling with seeing animals free in their natural habitats, therefore increasing their empathy
towards the animals. Another example of the powerful effects of sound is in a scene in The Cove
when a large group of dolphins are being slaughtered. In this scene, there is no sound at all. This
silence creates a serious, sombre mood and allows the audience to feel the severity of the
slaughters. Cowperthwaite used a different style of music to create this same mood in Blackfish.
Accompanying a scene showing a mother orca separated from her daughter in SeaWorld, a single
violin plays a sad, haunting song. These examples show how filmmakers can use music to
manipulate the emotions of an audience and therefore change their

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Forex Brokers
Fewer Barriers: Forex trading is much easier than stocks, options, or futures. It has fewer
barriers to entry and it also does not involve high operating and entry costs. Online forex brokers
offer both Mini and Macro trading accounts allowing you to start with smaller accounts.
However, it is not advisable to open a forex account with bare minimum money but it makes it
easy for people to invest who do not have a huge startup capital. Opportunity for Learning: Unlike
other trading options where you would not be able to learn anything without bearing some
amount of loss, many forex brokers allow people to initiate their trading with a number of free
facilities so that they can hone their skills and learn the essentials of currency trading for future
profits. Such brokers offer free demo accounts with real time news and charting services. Risk

You should calculate the odds of your success in every trade for minimized losses and
maximised profits. To do that, you must have an understanding of fundamental and technical
aspects of trading. You have to understand the dynamics of the market and also the psychological
price trigger points. Such things can be fairly understood by a price chart. Once you have
decided to make the trade then you can focus on managing the risk. It is important to understand
and know the exact amount of risk to manage it efficiently. It is significant to draw a line as your
cut out point if the market trades to that level. The difference between your cut out point and the
time you enter the market is your risk. You have to accept such risk before you even make the
trade and be psychologically prepared for it. If the loss is too much for you to bear then you must

The Similarities Between The Ancient And Modern Olympic Games
While there are clear contrasts between the ancient and the modern Olympics there is still the
respect for the athlete striving to perform at the highest level. Today, the Olympic Games are the
world s largest carnival of athletic skill and competitive spirit. They are displays of nationalism,
commerce, and politics. These important elements of the Olympics are not a modern invention, as
the first Olympics was in 776 BC in Ancient Greece. After 1503 years, in 1896 the Olympic Games
were recreated as what we know today. The Ancient Games were once dedicated to the Olympian
God, Zeus Olympios and were staged on the ancient plains of Olympia, which is also how the word
Olympics originated from. The modern Olympics is the largest international sporting event, which
feature both summer and winter sports competitions in which thousands of respectable athletes
from over 200 different nations compete against one another. There are clear contrast between the
modern and ancient forms of the Olympic Games regarding uniforms, participants, religion, events,
politics and the concept of amateurism. However both the Ancient Greeks and the people in the
modern world still respect and admire the athletics achievements of the participants making the
Olympics the most highly regarded contest in sport.
The Olympic Games, was once a significant athletic festival that originated in ancient Greece as a
religious festival which was revived in the late 19th century as a secular competition to

Adoption Debate
When we speak about adoptions, we commonly think about a couple going into a legal contract
to care for a child that they themselves did not bear or we may think about a pet. With both of
these cases there are careful considerations that we need to take into account. For a child the
parents to be may be thinking about if they want a boy or a girl, what kind of diapers and
formula to purchase, and how to furnish the room, just to mention a few things. For a pet we will
take into consideration the species and the breed. Do we want a dog, cat, fish, snake, and what are
the implications of having that pet. What is the best type of nourishment, shelter, and care is
widely researched. If we spend so much time researching all of these things for children and pets;
why are we not spending the time that we need in researching our plants? After all, without the
proper shelter, nutrition and care plants will not be able to flourish.... Show more content on

This raises the question: How is this possible? In order to understand the validity of the statement
we must first understand our past. If anyone were to state that there is an African influence in
Egyptian history most of us would not think to challenge this statement due to the close proximity
of Egypt and Africa. When you take that into account, it would be hard to grasp the concept that
there would be an African influence in America before Columbus due to the distance in between
Africa and America. It is interesting to know that the negroid element is well proven by the large
Olmec stone mountains (Sertima, 1976 p. 21), therefore we must take into account that there was
an African influence in America before Columbus had arrived. For many of us this is a hard
concept to grasp, after all it does go against everything we were taught in history class as a

Corporate Social Responsibility in GRI
SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING AND THE GRI Overview of CSR Corporate social responsibility
(CSR) refers to the social and environmental responsibility policies and practices developed by an
organization to increase its positive influence and reduce its negative activity towards society
(Schwartz 2010). Organizations must take responsibility for their actions and all the members of
the organization must comprehensively review and consider all their tasked achievements and
contributions. A healthy balance between economic progress, social responsibility, and
environmental protection can lead to a competitive advantage and solidify an organization s place
as a corporate citizen (Dickinson, et.al, 2008). Corporate citizenship goes beyond charitable
donations and public relations it is an important determinant of trust in communities in which the
organization may operate, helps attract and retain the best employees, and ensures integration of
everyday business operations and corporate goals (Lewis 2011). CSR reporting is a voluntary
disclosure that provides managers and employees with needed information to make decisions that
help improve processes and products. Examples include management earnings forecast, social and
environmental reports, information on achieved projects and company targets, and risks
management. Internal reporting provides critical feedback to employees that enables them to see
how their individual contributions add to the success of the organization.

his little brother Kevin to Galleria Mall to buy some clothes and gifts for his family; Robert is also a
working class employee, whose spinal cord was damaged in an accident when he was 12. So, he
uses a manual wheelchair because he cannot afford an automatic one, and he moves it using his
hands, since he can move the upper part of his body. On the other hand, his brother Kevin, who just

Robert: Sir, could you please stop screaming at my little brother. I was the one who pushed the
wheelchair (Kevin tried to tell the customer that he was the one who hit him, but Robert pointed at
him to stop). I am sorry, I did not notice myself hitting your feet. I sincerely apologize for ruining
your happy mood today.
The customer continuous his way through the crowed. While the crowd starts decreasing slowly,
Kevin (feeling bad about the incident) looked at his brother and asked him with wonder
Kevin: why did you lie to him? It was not your fault; it was my own fault.
Robert: Do not you worry about what happened. I am sorry Kevin for that, it is not your fault in
the first place, and I should have noticed that the wheelchair is hitting his feet. I hope you accept
my apology, and let me make it up for you by buying you a triple scopes ice cream.

Joe Hockey s Impact On The Australian Economy
Whilst Joe Hockey has attempted to replace the age of entitlement not with an age of austerity, but
with an age of opportunity, by taking extreme fiscal measures, the government have focused the

the Budget is affecting people at this present moment. As a result, Joe Hockey has failed to show

Over the four years from 2009 10 to 2012 2013, Labor had met its fiscal rule of keeping the
average spending growth rate to less than 2% a year (Musgrave, R. A. n.d). This was the lowest
period of spending growth in 23 years, meaning that not enough money was being injected into the
circular flow of income. This reduced aggregate demand as consumer spending was low. In order to
ensure that key spending was sustainable, structural improvements were required for the 2014 15
Budget. Overall, the Labor government has left a disastrous legacy of high debt for the Liberal
government to try and overcome.

Ban Zhao Lessons For Women
Although Ban Zhao was a woman, she was behind a sexist piece of literature meant for
instruction towards women. It isn t too hard to see this at face value, but there is more going on
here than just that in Lessons for Women . Ban Zhao was a woman who embraced the sexism and
strict gender roles in ancient China who also wrote for and taught women how to be like her in
this way, her style and perspective were certainly telling of this, and so was her word choice,
intentions, and audience.
Ban Zhao, was an unofficial imperial historian to Emperor Ho. She taught history, writings,
mathematics, and astronomy to Empress Teng and other women. She wrote this piece, Lessons
for Women , which was meant to instruct women how to behave and in many ways who to be.
She was even concerned about her own daughters in these sorts of ways. This impacts the
meaning of the piece in that it shows how deep the expected roles of people were drilled into the
heads of people across the world. Even a mother such as herself thought that these roles were
correct and ideal. It makes the modern interpretation even more shocking because you can see
that people who aren t viewed as equal don t even always realize it. She was writing for the
empire of China, and for the Emperors and Empresses, and for her daughters. The situation was at
a time when women were not necessarily viewed as equals to men. We can see how... Show more

Jamaica American Culture
A time I remember going to a place that was different from anything I ve ever experienced
before, was Jamaica. I ve been to other places around the world, but Jamaica was an entirely
different experience. I ve never been to Europe, but I ve been to Mexico, various spots of Canada,
everywhere in the United States, most of the Caribbean, and all the Virgin Islands (U.S. and U.K).
To start with Jamaica s roadways are the opposite of the United States. The people were different
as well. The clothing attire they wore was way different from what I was used too. When I say
being used to, I mean a sort of ethnocentrism (Wood 169). If I viewed it as different (stereotype;

I remember mostly the clothing of the culture because it was very bright and gave a tropical
feel. This was the physical appearance (Herkova PP Chap 7) (Wood 98) I saw. The proxemics
(Herakova PP Chap 7) (Wood 101) between people in that culture were closer than I was used to.
This refers back to ethnocentrism, different isn t bad, it is just an interesting change. Ultimately
this goes back to my direct definition (Wood 186), my mother was always open to other cultures,
understanding (Wood 172) and embraced them. I was taught not to be narrow minded, having
respect (Wood 172), and to have tolerance (Wood 171) toward other cultures. Another part of this
experience was the language this culture spoke. They had their own native language, but spoke
English. When they spoke English, they spoke it extremely fast and it wasn t the easiest to
understand. Their paralanguage (Wood 104) wasn t something I was used to either. The way I
responded to them, was to slow down my own paralanguage and to speak more clearly without
using any slang. This was so I could communicate with them without any interference. This made
the verbal communication (Wood 67) I used much easier to understand for them. I relied on the low
context communication style. Which refers to very direct, explicit, and detailed type of
communication (Wood

But come, young waverer, come go with me. In one respect I ll thy assistant be; for this alliance may so happy prove to turn your households rancor to pure love. (Romeo and Juliet 2.3.96 100) Romeo goes to Friar Lawrence for advice and he agrees to assist him. Instead of himself giving the letter, he made somebody else give it to Romeo. By doing this, it caused many problems, resulting in Romeo and Juliet dying. Affordable Care Act s Impact On The Health Care Industry If you ve lived in the United States, there is no way the topic of Affordable Care Act(ACA) could be evaded. Its on the news, its on the streets, its everywhere! For the general public the ACA stands for complete health coverage and cheaper insurance premiums. For the healthcare Industry however, whether Hospitals, Health care delivery models, Insurance Companies, Pharmaceutical and Biotech Industries, the ACA poises a huge reform in the delivery of services and products. The ACA or commonly known as Obamacare or the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act(PPACA) hopes to improve accessibility and quality while reducing costs. Value Based Purchasing The existing reimbursement... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ACO s will be reimbursed based on keeping the population which comes under the Medicaid healthy. The success of the model will result in an extension of the model for other services such as medicare and insurance providers. Medicaid Improving Coverage The medicaid hopes to expand its coverage to people under the poverty line with a 400% coverage. Under the new law, medicaid would cover a family who earns less than $29,700 annually. This means that medicaid could cover 21.3 million Americans by 2020 if the States opt to do so. The Spiral Effect The reasons for the rising prices has been noted by health economists and the term Spiral Effect was coined. Since uninsured and underinsured opt out of receiving timely care, the disease gets aggravated. Since first aid for emergency care is complimentary for everyone in the United States, people use this under the direst of circumstances. When emergency care is sought at this point, it becomes expensive and the hospital tends to write off this amount because the patients would be unable to pay. To make up for the lost money, the hospital increases the cost for the insurance company who in turn increases for the insurance buyers. The coverage for all policy by the ACA will be able to decrease the spiral effect of healthcare. Stake Holder Analysis Healthcare Industry is complex. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My first impression when I walked in was wow and how they made all this. I also thought who came up with these design. There were many crazy and funny looking designs I really liked. I enjoyed the one with a big rock in the middle and sand around it. It was really simple but had so much meaning to it. I was pleased on how the staffs showed us around and treated us. They were interested on how we liked and didn t like the art there. There were so much fancy art there but one caught my eyes. Which was the picture of the flying babies. They told me the flying babies had the power to heal and to do good in the world. When the battles came they would sent them after all the soldiers needed help. If I had the power to heal people or myself that s what I would do. I also got to see the very old coins collections. I got to see a very special thing which was butterflies and moths on the wall. There were probably about thousand of each butterflyand moths. They were made of metal it was very unique. There was another special room we got to go in which was called the flashing lights. It was amazing and gorgeous. It was blacked out and it was like a maze in the dark. For a few seconds some lights would flash on and off which made it awesome. • 5. The Importance Of Historical Aspects Of Death And Dying The Importance of Historical Aspects of Death and Dying for Nurses The field of nursing has always been one with constant evolution. From the early days on the battlefields, farms and homes to current events that occur in the hospital, nursing has always had challenges to face. Death and dying, in particular, has evolved from private settings to publicly passing away in a hospital or nursing home. This paper will focus on defining and discussing the historical aspects of deathand dying, presenting the current functions and roles of the hospicenurse, why it is important for nurses to know this valuable information and how this knowledge shapes the future of nursing. Past History of Nursing and Definitions It is necessary to define and discuss the history, in particular, the American experience of dying and death. The United States (US) has not always had hospitals for which the ill and dying go to be cared for. Prior to the civil war, death was considered a private matter (Leming Dickinson, 2016). The only indication a person passed away was the tolling of the church bells or the symbolic gravestone on a family s property. Weatherford (2010) states that the Civil War and the contributions from Clara Barton, initiated a standard of care as well as a central location for delivering care. Before hospitals were common in the US, one hundred percent of patient care was performed at the home or on the battlefield. Wives and mistresses of the soldiers followed the camps ... • 13. Compare And Contrast Lady Macbeth And Elizabeth The Golden... Elizabeth the golden age an Oscar nominated award directed by Shekhar Kapur relates strongly to William Shakespeare s Macbeth in many ways, such as how characters from each text relate to one another, how similar themes are explored in both productions and how both revolve around the same period, the Elizabethan period. However, the overarching similarity between the two is that, in both Macbethand Elizabeth: The Golden Age, women hold power in their societies, whether it be through their own ambition or through the natural order. Women in both the film and the play can exert political power in male dominated societies, and to some extent in both theatre productions, powerful women are born into their social and political status, but despite this, women must still to some extent get rid of their feminist characteristics to fulfil this power, and thus the female characters from each text differs in the outcome they meet due to their actions. While women in both texts can indeed wield political power in patriarchal societies, the two texts differ in the outcome the female characters meet because of this power. Both Lady Macbeth and Queen Elizabeth I see their place as a vehicle for power and control in their societies. Lady Macbeth can reach her power through manipulation of Macbeth, questioning his masculinity, thus resulting in him feeling threatened, and forced to commit the acts he did, when you durst do it, then you were a man. • 15. Massachusetts Colonies Compare And Contrast The colonies of Jamestown, Plymouth, and Massachusetts Bay each were different by nature, goals, successes, and failures. There were numerous similarities as well as differences. However, each colony was looking for something better that was missing in their main land. Members of each colony had a vision of what they expected the New World to look like. When they arrived, they were given a sense of reality. Each colony had challenges that it would have to overcome to thrive as a new establishment in the New World. The three colonies succeeded at different levels in the New World. The English migrated to the New World around the early1600s.I feel as though the laws and ideas of the colonists from this century have formed American into what it is today. The first establishment of the New World was Jamestown in 1607. This colony was founded by King James I. King James sent merchants and adventurers that were looking to profit from land and wealth to the New World just as the Spaniards did in Mexico and Peru. The London Company issued a Virginia charter to form plantations in Virginia. This was lead by Sir Thomas Smith, one of the wealthiest merchants aboard the ships to the New World. There were approximately 104 settlers that arrived on a peninsula along the James River. These settlers wanted to make a profit to take back to England. This peninsula was known as Jamestown. The colonists in this low lying swamp area was stricken with disease, contaminated drinking water, and was attacked by Spaniards or Native Americans. This was a serious threat to the early settlers of Jamestown. Those that came to the New World were mainly men. The majority of the population was men. They outnumbered the women six to one. Jamestown needed male labors to attend to the large plantation used for farming. There was no sense of community due to the lack of women settlers. Jamestown s government focused more on the survival of the colony rather than religion. Jamestown would not have survived had it not been for the strong leadership capabilities of Captain John Smith. He brought order out of anarchy (Brands, 2009, p. 35). Captain John Smith traded with the Indians for food. Smith was later saved from execution by an Indian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, Descartes differed with his predecessors about mode of establishing ideas. Similarly, on understanding human body and mind basing on empiricism, I will apply David Hume s technique. The main reason why I will use Hume s theory is that it simplifies everything. • 17. Importance Of Fair Trade Movement Trade is the act of buying and selling goods and services. This idea of trade became popular globally, starting the fair trade movement. According to FINE in 2001, fair trade is defined as a trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency, and respect that seeks greater equity in international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of, marginalized producers and workers especially in the South (Moore, Wilkinson, Redfern Snedker). The fair trademovement originated in the late nineteenth century. It began as charitable organizations and political solidarity trading with poor communities in the 1940s until it expanded to become a movement in the 1960s 1970s. The movement was officially created when the leading traders and importers joined forces from multiple different countries. The movement was created to to import goods for trade. Fair trade organizations (backed by consumers) are engaged actively in supporting producers, awareness raising and in campaigning for changes in the rules and practice of conventional international trade (Moore 73 74). The importance of the fair trade movement can be explained by the foundation of the movement, the goals of the movement, the obstacles of the movement, current organizations who follow the movement, and the overall movement itself. To begin, the fair trade movement can be understood by its organizations being divided into four groups called the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This brings me to the article, when a lawsuit in Minnesota was placed. The transgender which is labeled, Student X , was lifting her clothes and asking to trade body parts. • 26. The Importance Of Media Writing Introduction Authors of the book, Reaching Audiences, 6th Ed. (K. McAdams, J. Yopp, 2013), describe four essential qualities necessary for effective and appropriate media writing. Consequently, a four pronged approach must include accuracy, clarity, completeness, and fairness, within the writing process. Additionally, professional writers, Katherine McAdams and Jan Yopp, further explain: Writing that is accurate, clear, complete, and fair has a better chance of holding audiences, particularly those who might be clicking through websites or leafing through magazines (2013). Moreover, writers must create engaging articles as readers are bombarded with competing news stories from a variety of sources, on a daily basis. Therefore, capturing readers attention is only the beginning of the intended goal for writers. The next important step is keeping readers engaged by ensuring there are no grammatical errors; writing in a simple language; satisfying the reader by answering questions; and, by striving to be objective. In the end, a writers task is to incorporate the four essential elements of effective and appropriate media writing within the writing process. Analyzing News Articles Obviously, business owners and individuals tune in to the news when the issue of tax cuts is raised by the government. Barro, 2017). Effectively, contents of the proposal as well as its probable effect on businesses and individuals are reported in debt in the written piece by Josh Barro. As a result, his analysis confirms that businesses will benefit from the proposed tax cuts. However, upon further assessment, the final breakdown for individuals is not so positive. How Did Thomas Paine Use Ethos In The Crisis No 1 No Paine, No Gain Heralded as the leader of a new age of philosophy and eventual rebellion, Thomas Paine gave way to the birth of America and its subsequent constitution. Presenting his views in The Crisis, No 1, he explicitly petitions for a call to arms and separation from the motherland. His associate Patrick Henry wrote the Virginia Convention, detailing a similar argument for independence, albeit to a lesser impact on American colonists. The Crisis, No 1 is more persuasive than the Virginia Convention because its author employs logos and pathos to push Americans to continue the fight against Britain. To begin with, Paine uses a multitude of logos specific arguments. Toward the end of the piece he describes the present army which gives the readers a justified hope in the American militia. He writes, ВЁOnce more we are again collected and collecting; our new army at both ends of the continent is recruiting fast, and we shall be able to open the next campaign with sixty thousand men, well armed and clothedВЁ (99). Language is everything from words that are spoken and the silence that lies between one phrase and the next. I find out odd how in our culture, we try to label things black and white. It s either this or it s that, yet when there s something lacking in language, we try to assign colors to it instead of letting things be how they are. They glanced at it then glanced at it again, noticing me off center. Then they spent a few good moments looking at my expression and body language. The second medium that I chose is a song by Sarah McLachlan. The song is called Angel . It is a fairly simple song consisting of only a piano and her singing. There is no real intricate beats or rhythms, and the song is really clear. Anytime I listen to it, I have to listen to it maybe three or four times just to get the feel of it. I would categorize this song as black and white, but I find myself trying to assign colors to the song, as well as texture and smell. Caesar Augustus, one of the strongest and most strategic leaders in roman history, but this was all much later in his life, he started off in a very poor state yet through hard work and determination he came out on top to be known throughout the generations. Around 71 B.C.,a few years before Augustus was born, Gaius Octavius started pursuing a job within the senate, but because of his latin instead of roman descent the pursuit of the job was very difficult for him. He continued pursuing the job in senate till around 70 B.C. when he won a quaestorship, a lower place in the government that entails supervising tax collection and doing special tasks for consuls in Rome, and joined the senate. Based on his latin descent winning a questorship was no small feat so it was no surprise when he was offered a spouse from one of Rome s great trician clans. The only problem with this was he was already married to Ancharia who is not very well recorded in history so people have no firm evidence for why Gaius Octavius suddenly married Atia, a member of the Julian family making Julius Caesar his great uncle. Together Atia and Gaius had two children, Octavius the younger and Gaius Octavian, named after his father, along with the one from Ancharia the second of the two being who we know as Augustus. • 43. The Principle Of The Common Law Legal System Omission is a phrase that is only used correctly when there is a failure to commit an act, or do a minimal act to which a reasonable person may be expected to do. This essay will show that the exceptions added to the checklist of omissions should exist, and argue that having no liability for omissions is defensible. Firstly, the core principle of the common law legal system involves the principle of legality, also known as the Rule of Law. Ensuring that no one is superior to law, and establishing that no person can be punished retroactively by the state; expressed by Lord Bingham No one should be punished for any act which was not clearly and ascertainably punishable when the act was done . This principle is set within the English legal system in order to assert fairness and justice. The exceptions are set in place in order to ensure this principle is upheld, by asserting a duty of care for certain situations. One of these exceptions includes the duty of a parent to a child. Section 1 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1933, created a liability for parents who neglect their child which leads to harm or death. Gibbins and Proctor, is the leading legal authority on this exception, where Gibbins and his second wife (Proctor) had failed to feed Gibbin s daughter. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both of the films use similar styles of music to evoke similar emotions in the audience. For example, when the animals in both The Cove and Blackfish are shown free in the wild, wondrous music is played. Both films used a mixture of piano, harps and violin to create a feeling of elation in the audience. The use of music in this way helps the audience to associate that feeling with seeing animals free in their natural habitats, therefore increasing their empathy towards the animals. Another example of the powerful effects of sound is in a scene in The Cove when a large group of dolphins are being slaughtered. In this scene, there is no sound at all. This silence creates a serious, sombre mood and allows the audience to feel the severity of the slaughters. Cowperthwaite used a different style of music to create this same mood in Blackfish. Today, the Olympic Games are the world s largest carnival of athletic skill and competitive spirit. They are displays of nationalism, commerce, and politics. These important elements of the Olympics are not a modern invention, as the first Olympics was in 776 BC in Ancient Greece. After 1503 years, in 1896 the Olympic Games were recreated as what we know today. Corporate Social Responsibility in GRI SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING AND THE GRI Overview of CSR Corporate social responsibility (CSR) refers to the social and environmental responsibility policies and practices developed by an organization to increase its positive influence and reduce its negative activity towards society (Schwartz 2010). Organizations must take responsibility for their actions and all the members of the organization must comprehensively review and consider all their tasked achievements and contributions. A healthy balance between economic progress, social responsibility, and environmental protection can lead to a competitive advantage and solidify an organization s place as a corporate citizen (Dickinson, et.al, 2008). Corporate citizenship goes beyond charitable donations and public relations it is an important determinant of trust in communities in which the organization may operate, helps attract and retain the best employees, and ensures integration of everyday business operations and corporate goals (Lewis 2011). CSR reporting is a voluntary disclosure that provides managers and employees with needed information to make decisions that help improve processes and products. Examples include management earnings forecast, social and environmental reports, information on achieved projects and company targets, and risks management. She wrote this piece, Lessons for Women , which was meant to instruct women how to behave and in many ways who to be. She was even concerned about her own daughters in these sorts of ways. This impacts the meaning of the piece in that it shows how deep the expected roles of people were drilled into the heads of people across the world.
