A PowerPoint presentation answering the evaluation questions; "What have you learned from your audience feedback?" and "How effective is the combination of your main product and your ancillary texts?"
2. What have you learned from your
audience feedback?
0 During the course of my production, I consulted my focus
group on many occasions in order to get their thoughts on my
production. I learned a lot form this audience feedback which
I believe is mainly because they covered the entirety of my
audience which gave me an overall view of what my audience
may want from this magazine. One such thing that I learned
from the audience feedback was that they found the cover to
be more appealing with fewer images and cover lines on it.
They said that it would keep the readers attention on the
image rather than drawing it to the secondary images and
cover lines. Also, they said that keeping to a minimal and
simplistic design for both my billboard and my website would
help to keep things clearer and keep the readers attention on
what mattered. Finally, I also learned the value of audience
feedback as some of the members of my focus group
suggested changes to my production that would not only
improve the magazine in their eyes but they were also
changes that were not immediately noticeable to me.
3. How effective is the combination of your
main product and your ancillary texts?
0 I believe that my main production and my ancillary tasks work well
together. This is because they all carry the colour scheme of the house
style as well as sharing the logo of the magazine. I think that this
makes them work together because the colour scheme is simple yet
stands out as the black and white of the colour scheme contrast well
with the bright red that is used as the third colour as well as the
colour of the magazines logo. Also, I believe that by using a simple and
clear layout for the website and the magazine it helps to direct the
audience to what is important (i.e. the articles/features) as well as
helping to tie it in with the colour scheme. In terms of the billboard,
while it may not have a layout like the magazine and the website, I
think that it conveys the same idea as the layouts of the magazine and
website. I think that this is due to the fact that I have kept the
billboard clear with the logo and tagline on the left and three images
showing the available platforms on the right. Overall, I think that my
magazine, website and billboard work well together based on the
shared colour scheme, logo and layout which helps to tie them
together and continue an overall theme.
