2. Here you can see my prelim task (left) and my final front cover for
my magazine (right). As you can see, my Photoshop skills have
progressed greatly during my research and construction of my
magazine. During this evaluation, I will show the main areas that I
have progressed in and changed to get the end result which you
see before you.

3. The feedback that I had for my prelim task was mostly centered
around the cover lines. This is because in the prelim, they are
not worded very well and do not attract the reader in any way as
they can be seen as very generic and just seemed to be placed
there to fill empty space on my magazine.
However, areas of strength are the color scheme, composition of
my page and the masthead. The red and white go well with each
other as it as very simplistic and doe not distract the reader too
much from the other features such as the issue number or the
cover lines. This color scheme would also be seen throughout
the magazine as part of my house style as it would make the
magazine look professional. Furthermore, the composition and
size of my min image is very well received as the model is quite
large meaning that he stands out on the page is one of the
things that the readers eyes are attracted to as soon as they
look at the page. The masthead is also a god area of strength as
it is positioned at the top of the page where a typical masthead
would be found. In addition, the masthead is placed under the
image of the model giving the magazine a 3D effect making it
more interesting all together. The font used in the masthead is a
generic font found in Photoshop and is called “varsity” which is
generally associated with school and teenagers which is the
target audience of my magazine.
Looking back, I have made significant progress from tis prelim
task to my current cover page. My understanding of the
Photoshop software has also increased and I can now use it
confidently and produce a well resented piece of work.

4. With both the prelim task and my current cover page next to each other, it is
clear to se the progress which I have made during the construction of my
magazine. The masthead of my prelim task is very generic and simple whereas
the masthead on my cover age of the real magazine is specially tailored to the
magazine itself giving it a more unique and stylish design. The main image has
also improved as I have made sure the the body language and costume of the
model clearly shows the type of genre which I am trying to portray. In addition, I
have completely cropped the model out of the background and replaced it with
a simple gradient o hat any of the text on the page can be read easily and there
is no miscommunication between me and the readers.
