This document discusses strategies for distributing a zombie film media product. It notes that major film studios like 20th Century Fox, Disney, Warner Bros., Paramount, Universal and Sony usually distribute their own films. For zombie films specifically, distributors like United Artists and Rogue Pictures have been used. The document suggests Paramount Pictures would be a good choice since they successfully distributed the zombie film World War Z. A major distributor is recommended over an independent one to reach a broader audience. While some low-budget horror films like The Blair Witch Project found success, the document argues zombie films require larger budgets to seem convincing given the genre involves unnatural beings. It's proposed the film would be shown in multiplex theaters and advertised
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Evaluation question three
1. EVALUATIONQUESTION THREE
WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND
WHY?
A film distributoris responsible for themarketing ofa film. Thedistributioncompanyis usually
different from the productioncompany. There are six main studioswhom also do their own
film distributing,thisincludes:
1) 2oth Century Fox
2) Walt Disney Pictures
4. Below are several examples of film distributesto whomhave worked with zombie films:
Dawn Of theDead - United Film DistributionCompany
WhiteZombies – United Artists
Shaun Of The Dead – Universal Pictures, Rogue Pictures
World War Z – Paramount Pictures
I Am Legend – Warner Bros., RoadShow Entertainment
Is there a studio that specializes in yourgenre who would most likely produce, promote
and distribute your film?
The are no officialstudios to whom dealspecificallywith the zombiegenre films but in fact it is
spread across several as different studios tend to work with different makeups of hybrids
mixed with the zombiegenre, such as Universal Pictures who have been known to work with
comedyand zombie mixed films, mostly famously ‘ShaunOf the Dead’ which received a
successful rating of8/10 on IMDB.
Wouldyour film need a major distributer,or smaller, more independent one? Why?
I believe that mymedia piecewill need to bedistributed through amajor distributer because
my films target audience nor its content can be found to be neither offensive nor biased
towards any particularsocial group, as well as my film not including excessive amount ofblood
or detailed violenceand with a classificationof 15 thismeans that myfilms pieceisn’t very
limited as to whomits viewers maybewhich gives theopportunityforthe film to be more
successful in it creating more profit.
Which real life distributermight you see yourself using if you had a choice?
If I could choosea distributerfor my film pieceI would chooseParamount Pictures because
theyhave previously made successful zombiefilm likeWorld War Z which is a straight up
zombiefilm without any hybridconcepts in it, whereas Universal Pictures distributed Shaun Of
The Deadwhich is a hybridwith comedy, and as my zombiefilm isn’t any form of hybrid thenI
would chooseParamount Pictures based on theirpast experience in distributing successful
zombiefilms that aren’t hybrids. I wouldn’t however choose to use Walt Disney as my films
distributerbecause Disney has thebrand image ofbeing from a child’sperspective, perfect but
as my target audience is aimed at males over thirtyfive I wouldn’t deem it very sufficient in
getting lotsof viewers and theymight get thewrong impression through who its associated
with as Disney is as I have said, more often thought ofbeing to do with childfilm and hence
may put viewers off.
5. Are there any examples of small budget films that have made a success?
One film from thehorror genre called ‘TheBlair Witch Project’ made a successful film piece
from a small budget, and yet received a star rating of 6.4 on IMDB, this indicatesto me that a
film can be successful even if it’s made with a low budget however, thisfilm if from thehorror
genre rather than a thezombiegenre. One successful film made on a low budget was ‘Might
Of theLiving Dead’,thisfilm was made in 1968 so thegraphicsand quality ofthe actualfilm
aren’t as goodas zombie films now and also the abundance of zombies during thistime was
much less so the zombiefilm competitionmarket wasn’t as big then as what it is now, and
what it would befor my piece. The only otherzombiefilm which was a success under a small
budget was ‘ZombiesStrippers’,this was onlydue to thenudityand eye candy characters that
thisfilm made any form of success and hence makes it hardfor comparisonagainst my work.
So overall, although othergenreshave made successful films only using a low budget these
aren’t reallyin thezombiegenre and more in thehorror genre. This demonstrates to me that
zombie’sfilms need to have a rather large budget in order to make it successful and whereas
horror is scaring living peopleand something we are every dayaware ofhow to do, thezombie
genre films aren’t, they include aspects of death andunnatural beings which to ourselves we
aren’t certain about and this is why zombie’sfilms need a big budget in order to be successful
as theyneed to be convincing whilst creating a realism concept throughout thefilm.
Where would you expect yourfilm to go?
I would expect that my zombie film Immunity would go and be shown within a multiplex, this is
because my target audience is based on a mainstream market and hence wouldbe more
appropriateandsacksful being shown through alarger standard rather thanthrough an
independent art house cinema as this wouldlimit theviewing range and my films potentialof
being as successful as it couldbe, also being my media film doesn’t discriminate against any
form of social group and hence means that it wouldbenefit from a wider viewing availabilityso
that its financial return aren’t restricted from what its potentialcouldbe.
Where would I advertise my film?
As a key part of my marketing in distributionI would calculatemy advertising carefullysuch as
through YouTube, thisis because YouTubeis an extremely popularwebsite which peopleall
across theglobeuse, both businesses’ and members of thepublic. It’s through YouTubethat I
thinkmy film opening willtruly get people attentionas went heysee theadvert for it on
YouTubetheyonly have to clickand it automaticallysends themdirectlyto its reciprocating
trailer, it’sthrough such simple access as thisthat peoplewillnoticeand want to watch my film
on a high demanding basis. Also as it wouldbe done through amajor studio we may also
advertise through billboardsin big cities in order to grabpotentialaudiences attentionas it
isn’t often that anew zombie film is released, but when one is peopleoftenflock to see it when
6. theysee advertisements about it, so through such things as billboardsit means that lotsof
peoplewillbe ableto see thefilm.
