The document discusses establishing a target audience for a film opening. It analyzes research showing that the zombie genre attracts primarily males over 35 and secondarily females under 35, who are generally middle class parents. The author believes targeting this demographic of older viewers will result in more box office revenue. They rate the film PG-13 due to its mild horror/violence and themes of death/terror. Research shows thriller/suspense is the most popular genre in Britain for ages 16+, making it a mainstream choice. The target audience is concluded to be males 35 and over who are partner-oriented and middle class.
Here I have discussed the age restriction our film would be given based on the BBFC post and how they decide the age limits on new film releases. Also, I have included the reasons as to why our film would fit into the age limit given.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
1. Evaluation Question Four
Who would be the audience for your product?
It is important to establish the target audience when creating a type of media product, including film
openings. By knowing your target audience and what they like, you can focus your product towards
their demographics which entails your research to be more accurate and precise. If you were to focus
on too many target audiences at once, then it is likely that your product will be produced looking
cluttered and unprofessional.
To decide on our target audience for our media product, we looked at secondary research provided by
the UK Film Council. We focussed first on demographics, determining from the table below that the
zombie genre ( a mixture of horror, thriller/suspense && disaster ) attracts a target audience of
primarily males over thirty-five and secondarily females under thirty-five. Both the males over thirty-
five and females under thirty-five are from the social class C2, which is modern day middle class.
They both also tended to be parents.
Our genre of film would require extra care to be taken when in production as the target audience is
significantly older than ourselves, and so we cannot relate to them specifically. Despite this, I believe
that by targeting this demographic; we will be able to create a substantial amount of income from
multiplex cinemas as more people would pay to see it because of the older target audience.
As we have already discovered that our primary target audience is males over thirty-five, it is also
important to consider other potential target audiences that would enjoy watching the hybrid genre that
we have chosen. For example, I can see from the table both above and below that thirty-two percent
of men under the age of thirty-five enjoy watching horror films, and twenty-six percent of females
2. over thirty-five enjoy watching disaster films. If our products target audience was to have a second
demographic, it would be females under thirty-five.
When considering the content that has been involved in the footage of our film opening, we have
decided to rate our film as a . I felt like this rating was appropriate because, like stated previously,
of the content involved within the product. This content includes the mild use of horror, violence and
imitable behaviour, as well as the strong
use of themes such as death and terror. Our
research shows that the British population
of twenty-six percent of sixteen year olds
and over rate thriller/suspense genre as one
of their favourites, however the disaster
and horror genres are slightly lower down,
being five percent and a slightly higher
fifteen percent. This data shows that our
hybrid genre can interest different types of
people from different age categories, which
opens up potential marketing for a third
and fourth target audience demographic if
necessary.
The table shown on the right gives statistics on what
percentage of the British population over the age of
sixteen enjoys watching at the cinema. It can be said
that the thriller/suspense genre is certainly
mainstream, as well as the horror genre. Disaster is
more of a niche genre. The statistics from the table on
the right shows that fifty-three percent of the British
population over the age of sixteen enjoy watching the
thriller/suspense genre, whilst thirty-two percent
enjoy watching horror and only twenty-eight percent
enjoy watching a disaster film. This means that
although our genre contains aspects of disaster, it is
more likely to be shown in a multiplex cinema
establishment than a smaller cinema establishment.
By doing this, we will more likely have a higher
revenue than other films because of our target
demographic and their interests that we have researched into.
3. This would be an example of our idea target audience member,
a male aged 48 who I interviewed earlier in the year. His name
is Mr. Anthony Watson and he is a prison officer, and clearly
above the age of 35, thus having more money to spend on
lesuire activites. He’s also a middle class citizen. Therefore,
he’s well within our target demographic. The lesuire activities
he takes participation in are not family-orientated, they are
more partner-orientated. He is capable of handling films with a
deeper meaning than other films. This however comes at the
cost of attaining a less mainstream appeal and thus reduced
financial returns.
Within a film of his interests, Mr Watson would enjoy aspects
that he can relate to and place himself in the character’s shoes.
This would be of interest to him especially if the film contained
elements of parallels to current events taking place in his life.
As his job is full-time and takes up spare time, he has less time
to venture outdoors and visit cinemas so television is more
popular within this demographic. Therefore some film
companies may choose to incorperate elements of television
into their films by including smaller scaled sets and a larger
emphasis on individual interaction so Mr Watson can relate to
the film more.
In conclusion, I believe my target audience will be of an older age bracket, specifically thirty-five and
over. They are more likely to be partner-orientated, and be of a middle class standing. Due to the
mainstream appeal of the hybrid zombie genre, it is important to focus marketing on our primary and
secondary targetdemographic as then it is more likely for our film to be more profitable.
