My Evaluation
2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
The demographic I am representing is going to be in the age range of 14 to 21 the gender of my
magazine is both male and female although it sways more towards male then female therefore I
would say my magazine is 67% male and 33% female audience.

This photo of James and Katherine shows what some of my target audience may look like. As you
can see some of them would be more gothic than anything else however like James some may be
more individual. You can tell that my target audience are very much steam punk, Goth or individual
by the way they are dressed and how they act not only with their friends but within society. I would
say that the class my magazine is aimed at is working/ lower middle class the psychographics of my
target audience is individuals as this magazine is all about rock music but doesn’t state that the
magazine reader has to dress in certain ways the sub-cultures or tribes that best suit my magazine is
steam punk so overall my magazine is aiming its self as an individual/steam punk magazine.
I sent out quite a few questionnaires such this was so that I could see if my magazine would attract
an audience I found out that it would as the overall response off of people was that they would buy
my magazine as it would give Kerrang some form of competition.
This was because my magazine would openly support bands and artists that go against the norms of
society for example most people think that Marylyn Manson is against the norm of society

His fans see how he dresses and acts and it inspires them that they can also go against the norm by
dressing and acting like him however some do this more than others for example some of his fans
may just go against the norm by buying his t-shirt.
My Evaluation

Whereas others follow his style whist making it their own or even a few of his fans combine the two
and wear his T-shirts matched with his style. As you can see Katherine is very much similer looking to
the girls that are Marylin Mansons fans.

Evaluation Q2

  • 1. My Evaluation 2. How does your media product represent particular social groups? The demographic I am representing is going to be in the age range of 14 to 21 the gender of my magazine is both male and female although it sways more towards male then female therefore I would say my magazine is 67% male and 33% female audience. This photo of James and Katherine shows what some of my target audience may look like. As you can see some of them would be more gothic than anything else however like James some may be more individual. You can tell that my target audience are very much steam punk, Goth or individual by the way they are dressed and how they act not only with their friends but within society. I would say that the class my magazine is aimed at is working/ lower middle class the psychographics of my target audience is individuals as this magazine is all about rock music but doesn’t state that the magazine reader has to dress in certain ways the sub-cultures or tribes that best suit my magazine is steam punk so overall my magazine is aiming its self as an individual/steam punk magazine. I sent out quite a few questionnaires such this was so that I could see if my magazine would attract an audience I found out that it would as the overall response off of people was that they would buy my magazine as it would give Kerrang some form of competition. This was because my magazine would openly support bands and artists that go against the norms of society for example most people think that Marylyn Manson is against the norm of society His fans see how he dresses and acts and it inspires them that they can also go against the norm by dressing and acting like him however some do this more than others for example some of his fans may just go against the norm by buying his t-shirt.
  • 2. My Evaluation Whereas others follow his style whist making it their own or even a few of his fans combine the two and wear his T-shirts matched with his style. As you can see Katherine is very much similer looking to the girls that are Marylin Mansons fans.
