Evaluation Q6
1. My Evaluation
6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
My main two technologies that I used are blogger and Photoshop however I used a digital camera to
shoot my photos.
I found it very hard to access my blogger account but once I had accessed my account I
found uploading just word documents quite easy however I found up loading documents that
contain a large amount of text and photos or pictures hard as I was unsure if they would upload
once I had changed the photos in to a jpeg as sometimes the document wouldn’t upload. Although I
did also find that you could embed other forms of technology into blogger such as flip snack and slid
share. This made my blog look more official.
I used flip snack on my blog in order to make it seem more interesting to the people
that would be viewing my blog as without these it would be boring and lack any interest. You use flip
snack by saving your word document as a PDF file you then up load this PDF file to flip snack and
wait for the file to load this in turn is then turned into a beautiful flip book.
I found Photoshop hard to use at first but once I had found a few tool that would help me
complete my work and would also give me the results I was after I felt more able to use Photoshop I
feel the photos in my music magazine contents page and the photos on my front cover blend in a lot
better compered to my preliminary task photographs. In Photoshop I learnt about how there is lots
of different way you could save a file. Such as PDF which means you can continue to work on an item
until you are satisfied that it is as good as you can make it. Furthermore, JPEG this is when you have
decided that you are happy with what you have made and you are ready to flatten it together.
Meaning that everything stays in place for good and you can no longer alter your creation.
I used text boxes to contain my text this helped my improve my work as it made the
text a lot neater this made the magazine look more realistic.
I also used the gradient tool a lot as my magazine is mainly black I needed to use this as
an easy way of colouring a large space in one go.
I found it easy to type up my text when I had zoom in to the page I would always zoom
back out to check and see if I was achieving my overall look was.
In order to cut around images I used the rectangular marquee tool this helped me cut
around the images in my finished product as if it selected an area of a photo that I didn’t want to get
rid of then I would simply go to the select button then down to deselect.
