Evaluation Essay Examples
Writing an essay on the topic "Evaluation Essay Examples" can present a unique set of
challenges. Firstly, finding appropriate examples for evaluation requires extensive research and
critical analysis. It's not just about picking any examples; they need to be relevant,
representative, and suitable for the purpose of evaluation. This demands a keen eye for detail and
the ability to discern the strengths and weaknesses of the chosen examples.
Crafting the essay itself involves a delicate balance. It requires providing sufficient context for
the examples, explaining the criteria used for evaluation, and presenting a well-structured
argument. Maintaining coherence and flow throughout the essay while seamlessly integrating the
evaluative elements is crucial. Striking the right tone, whether it's analytical, persuasive, or
informative, adds another layer of complexity.
Furthermore, achieving objectivity in evaluation is challenging. Balancing personal opinions with
evidence and ensuring a fair assessment without bias is a delicate task. One must navigate
through the potential subjectivity that can arise when expressing opinions on the worth or
effectiveness of certain examples.
In addition to the content, attention to language and style is essential. Clarity, conciseness, and
precision are key elements in conveying the evaluation effectively. The language should be
tailored to the audience, ensuring that the essay is accessible and engaging.
Conclusively, writing an essay on evaluation essay examples demands a multifaceted approach,
involving research, critical thinking, structuring, and effective communication. It's not just about
presenting examples but about doing so in a way that is informative, persuasive, and
intellectually rigorous.
For those who find this task challenging, it's worth noting that assistance is available. Similar
essays, and much more, can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, where professional writers can

Dodge Brothers Research Paper

If you haven t got room for two of us, neither of us will start. (John Francis Dodge)
John Dodge stated that because he has worked with his brother for years and he will
not work without him. They were a very close family but they would not have
anybody with the last name Dodge working in their factory. Another Great Quote
From John Dodge would be, I am tired of being carried around in Henry Ford s vest
pocket. (John Francis Dodge). For the longest time they worked for Henry ford until
Ford pulled the reigns back on the brothers. The Dodge Brothers made a Earth
shaking impact on automotive industry and it is still being shaken today.Dodge

The two brothers began producing transmissions for Oldsmobile. In 1903, they
became major suppliers of drive trains for Ford Motor Company. They were two
brothers that had a dream and that dream was to innovate in transportation. In
November of 1914, the Dodge brothers produced their first car and it was a major
success. The organization produced automobiles for the United States. they were a
major innovators in the car industry they created many cars and trucks and off road
machines. In 1914 they produced the 4 cylinder dodge model thirty. The brothers
died in 1920 and the company sold to Chrysler. The brothers legacy still lasts to this
day and it looks like there is no end in sight. The company continued to grow and
even singed contracts with the military.
The Chrysler company continued to use the dodge name and they also produced a
company named Jeep. The legacy of the name jeep was well known in the military
they used them through the use of World war II. The legend was named Jeep
Willys the production began in November of 1940. The jeep was shown to the
army and they loved it. The Jeep was a short wheelbase four wheel drive automobile
and it has the reputation to go anywhere they needed it to go. The Jeep was the first

The Conflict Of The West Bank And Gaza Strip
One State, Two States Few, if any, modern conflicts are as complex as the Arab
Israeli conflict. Specifically, the political situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip
has led to bloodshed, political high wire acts, and cycles of hope and disappointment
for decades. Consensus has generally leaned towards advocated a two state solution
for the conflict, in which the Israelremains a Jewish state, and the Palestinian Arabs
establish their own country carved from currently Israeli occupied territories. This
solution has become more infeasible, not more attainable, efforts to find a lasting
peace have occurred. The main alternative, a one state solution, in which one nation
takes full control of the Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip,... Show more

While UN Security Council Resolution 242 called for Israel to remove itself from
these areas and return to its pre 1967 War borders (Farsakh 2005), Israel continued
its presence in the region. In the years that have followed, numerous solutions have
been proposed to solve the crisis and to bring a lasting peace and sense of stability to
the area. The solution most supported up to now has been the two state solution. In
this solution, parts of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (likely the full area in the
latter) would become part of an independent, self governing Palestinian state, while
the rest of the area would become Israeli territory. With this, Palestinians would have
a nation state and could chart their own political and cultural course. Most nations
and international organizations have lent their support to this idea, including the US,
the UN, and Israel and Palestinian Authority (Sanger 2016), forming the basis for
most peace talks aiming to resolve the conflict. The question that now remains is why
has this solution not yet been achieved? The disagreement on the borders of each
state remains one of the primary roadblocks to achieving the two state solution. There
exists no consensus on which land would belong to Israel and which to an
independent Palestinian state. One complicating issue in
Strengths And Weaknesses Of Leadership
The first step to analyzing my personal leadership practices is to evaluate my
strengths and weaknesses as a leader. One of the tools used to evaluate my
leadership profile is the Seven Habits Profile, attached to this analysis.
After completing this Seven Habits profile, some of the leadership strengths and
weaknesses I knew I possessed were reinforced with the results of this survey. Scoring
highest, were my strengths of putting first things first and sharpening the saw. These
two strengths were followed closely by a third place tie of being in tune with my
emotional bank account and ability to be proactive. Scoring lowest were my two
greatest weaknesses, which are seeking first to understand and life balance. Tied in
third place as weaknesses are thinking win win and synergize.
One of my highest scoring strengths is my ability to put first things first. This came
to me as no surprise, as I see this dominant characteristic in almost every aspect of
my life. Whether professionally or personally, my ability to see what needs to get
done coupled with my drive to cross things off my to do list has been a strength of
mine as far back as I can remember. My personality is inclined to work first, play
later. I tend to enjoy work and personal life at a greater capacity when I know there
are no pressing matters to tend to.
Another strength identified in the Seven Habits Profile is my ability to sharpen the
saw. Personal growth in all aspects, including spiritual, physical, mental
Raleigh Hills Stereotypes
Raleigh Hills is a small suburb just within Portland city limits, in the southwest hills
of Washington County, though many often mistake it for being within Beaverton.
Housing a population of 5,896 people as of the 2010 census, the vast majority of
the population is composed of either married couples (50.8%), non families
(39.6%), or individuals (33.4%). So, in this way it deviates from the general vision
of the suburbs being moreso oriented towards families with children, but in my little
cul de sac, such a stereotype is perpetuated. Well, there s at least one family with
children in the neighborhood, due to the fact that I ll often see a particular group of
boys walking down the street. The neighborhood was named after one of Washington
countys... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yes, there are a few local businesses in the area, but very few are worth mentioning,
at least by Portland s standards. There s a McMenamins bar and a highly
acclaimed lumber supply store, but otherwise, it s either chains or shady
storefronts. What I find so funny about my neighborhood is how desperately they
try to be like Portland, or the mainland as I like to call it. But alas, it is merely a
subsidiary, its own entity, despite what any of the zoning codes may state. Most
people when in the area are there because they re obligated to; they need to run
errands, pick up their kids from school or it s on their way to work. In short, it s
hardly a destination, it s not trendy. There are no swanky hangouts or coffee shops.
Everyone who lives here keeps to themselves and goes about their day, which does
have its benefits. For instance, I personally like feeling a sense of solitude when I
m at home, and this is definitely provided for me in my pseudo cul de sac. I can
play my music as loud as I want with no complaints, other than those who actually
live in my house. I don t fear someone looking in on me whilst relaxing in my
rumpled PJ s, my greasy hair pulled into a bun too messy to be perceived as cute. I
am able to reflect in the peace that I so often crave. I have a
Social Mobility In The Medieval And Renaissance Time
Period
Throughout early British literature and history, there has been a gradual change in
social class. In the Anglo Norman time period, feudalism was in place which did
not allow much movement among the classes. However, that is not the case in the
Medieval and Renaissance time period. During these times, there were factors that
played a part in allowing social mobility to take place. In the duration of the Anglo
Norman, Medieval, and Renaissance eras the options of social mobility changed
dramatically and possessed more alternative options people in these eras. During the
Anglo Norman time period there was not a chance for people to truly move through
the social classes. Everyone was in their set class that they were born into and were

This poem explains how one knight s dedication to his king lead him to be
respected and praised more among his fellow knights. Sir Gawain is part of the
upper class due to his relation to King Arthur, Take care young cousin... (The Pearl
Poet 372). Attributable to this, he did not truly move up in class when he became
a knight, but he was given a position and was most likely respected more than he
might be if he did not become a knight. However, after he accepted the Green
Knight s challenge in Arthur s place, he managed to move up among his own class.
Near the end, the Green Knight tells Sir Gawain, you re by the far the most
faultless fellow on earth ... In good faith, so is Gawain, amongst gallant knights
(The Pearl Poet 2363 2365). Only after he agreed to sacrifice himself for his king and
his honor did he get the recognition that a reader would expect a knight to receive.
However, it shows the praise that he receives and how he is able to move up and

Religious Diversity And Religious Influence In The United...
I am certainly on the side, where i believe religious diversity and religious
influence is not good for united states as a nation. I clearly believe that if one nation
wants to be in union and synchronized with one another they should believe in one
thing. I believe that religion can not be used in politics in general. As we all know
there are many forms of religions in the world such as christianity, islam, judaism,
buddhism, and etc. I am not stating that everyone in the united statesshould be
believe in christ and become a christian or believe in allah and become muslim but to
all believe that church and state should not influence each other. I believe that if we
all can agree that church and state should not affect each other that we would
A Company s Corporate Social Responsibility
When looking at a company s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the tie in to
consumer confidence, the apparel industry illustrates both the best and the worst
cases. Today s consumers are more aware of how multinational corporations are
incorporating or failing to incorporate CSR practices throughout the product
lifecycle. This awareness has pushed companies in the apparel industry like Nike
and Gap to evaluate current practices and incorporate socially responsible and
environmentally responsible policies throughout their supply chain. Product
Lifecycle The push for companies to become both ethically and environmentally
conscientious has created a push for companies to evaluate all stages of product
creation. CSR practices will directly impact the lifecycle pricing of these products.
For example, wages have increased in developing countries when CSR practices
have been implemented in the apparel industry. This increases the production costs
which will influence the lifecycle pricing. In addition to increased wages,
acquisition and disposal of raw materials also plays an important role in the pricing.
Sourcing in the apparel industry costs more to organically produce cotton, especially
in developing countries. Mass production of cotton is cheaper, but is usually not
ecologically friendly; however, sourcing of products is only one portion of the
picture. Often forgotten, is the need for disposal of waste material. Environmentally
concerned stakeholders are

lived by his words despite his circumstances. Though Nelson Mandela had many
accomplishments, Mandela was greatly influenced through his reading and
admiration of other leaders. All great leaders have been influenced by others, and

Though I have read small amounts of it, the struggles Mandela went through to
become the great leader he is today is inspiring. I would also read War and Peace
simply because it was Mandela s favorite book. The Kite Runner by Khaled
Hosseini is on my list as the book lists out issues dealing with betrayal and guilt.
Dealing with the importance of combating injustice, To Kill a Mockingbird by
Harper Lee seems to be a straightforward lesson. The Age of Innocence by Edith
Wharton, as I have heard, is a book that would make you angry. The moral lesson is
that one should have courage to be themselves and not follow the status quo.
Gulliver s Travels by Jonathan Swift is just a staple piece every human being must
read. It is a satire on the nature of humans spiced with tales of travelers. Being the
science fiction nerd I am, The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien seems to be well
suited for me along with The Hobbit as the two combine adventure and unnatural
beings. I would like to also read The Brief, Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot

only life. That s enough. Lastly, for the hopeless romantic I am, I would like to read

The Four Gospels Pertaining To The New Testament
The gospel of Luke is one of the four gospels pertaining to the New Testament. The
Gospel of Luke is the most extensive historical account of the life of Jesus. It was
originally written for a certain Theophilus, probably a Gentile of high social standing,
and intended to inform him extensively of the life and work of Christ. Throughout
this gospelthe person of Jesusis presented as the perfect Man who always lived
according to the will of God. And the account that Luke offers us of his life appears
divided in two basic parts: the coming to the world of the Son of God and the return
to his glory. It narrates from before the birth of John the Baptist, until the death and
resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In this gospel Luke tells the story of Jesus
India s Development Of Tourism
Tourism comprises the activities of persons travelling to and staying in places
outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure ,
business or other purposes (Holloway and Taylor 2006;6).
Development of Tourism in India
Early Development
The efforts to promote tourism in India were made in 1945 , a committee was setup
under the Chairmanship of Sir John Sargent. The development of tourism was taken
up in a planned manner in 1956 , but it was only after the 1980 s that tourism activity
picked momentum. A National Policy on Tourism started in 1982, a plan was made
to achieve sustainable growth in tourism , a National Action Plan was prepared for
promotion of tourism.

beautiful beaches, forests and wildlife and landscapes for eco tourism , snow, river
and mountain peaks for adventure tourism , centres of pilgrimage for spiritual
tourism , trains and hotels for heritage tourism. Natural health resorts and fill stations
also attract tourists.
Strategy to Enhance Tourism: Some of the recent steps taken by the Government to
boost tourism include grant of export house status to the tourism sector and
incentives for promoting private investment in the form of Income Tax exemptions,
and reduced import duty , the approval of investment up to 51% of foreign equity
and allowing 100% non resident Indian investment and approval to travel agents ,
tour operators .
The first ever Indian Tourism Day was celebrated on January 25,1998 . The
campaign Visit India Year 2009 was launched at the International Tourism Exchange
in Berlin , aimed to project India as an attractive destination for tourists.
Future Prospects: According to the latest Tourism Satellite Accounting (TSA)
,released by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and its strategic
partner Oxford Economics in March 2009: The demand for travel and tourism in
India is expected to grow by 8.2% between 2010 2019 and will place India at the third

Climate Change And Life Expectancy. The Current Rate Of
Climate Change and Life Expectancy
The current rate of at which the world is being affected by climate change; one may
be convinced to believe that the earth will not be able to be inhabited by any other
generation. The perfect clarification of these claims has been the reduction in the life
span and the increase in the number of diseases that are actually attacking human
beings all because of climatic change. The impact of climate change has been felt and
this has had a negative impact on the lives of animals and human beings (Baker,
Judy World Bank., 3). There has been a huge debate on whether climatic change is
responsible for the decline in the life expectancy among human beings as well as
animals. This essay is based on the facts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is means the depletion or destruction of this natural resources means the end of
the life for this countries hence the increase in the rate of complacency. The point
also explains why developing country usually relies on foreign aid as means of
sustaining their own economies.
Initially animals used to have very long time span in that goats or even cattle could
stay for years and yet they are still very productive. This has certainly changed as
result of climatic changes. The animals used to live longer as a result of cold
temperatures that used to slow down their rates of metabolism hence the longer
life span. Temperatures today are very high as a result of climatic changes. The
increased temperatures have actually led to increase in the metabolic rate of the
animals hence the reduction in the life span. This explains why animals today
cannot even live for more than five years and then remain productive all along as
animals could live for a whole decade but still remain very productive. It is
believed that the presence of favorable climatic conditions usually increase the life
span of animals or even plants by more than 20 percent. This is very reason the
people back in the 1700s all the way to the late 1800s used to live long and they were
not really exposed to the kind of diseases that people are currently exposed to
(Letcher, T. M, 49).
One of the main factors that have actually led to the reduction in the life expectancy

The city of Atlanta is now asking the NBA to host this event that is destined to
bring some economic relief to our city; this could bring a rather large sum of
money into Atlanta and possibly the future. The problem is this, in the city of
Charlotte a person must use the bathroom that coincides with your gender. In today

considered discrimination. If I am a male who lives my day to day life as a woman,

The city of Charlotte is due to lose a lot of revenue because of this bill the NBA

have spoken out in defense of the Transgender community, supporting them and their

Self Knowledge And Self Thinking
As an individual, we often ask are self question that stand out to us. Some question
may relate to are love life, family, and are social environment. Most philosophers
often call it self knowledge or knowledge of your own mind. Is it that important too
or is it like knowledge of a baseball batting averages like a trivial knowledge that isn
t of much use in the daily life. Image yourself having to take a big exam the next
day but you forgot to study and you fail the exam. There still time to drop the class.
Should you continue to work hard at getting a B in the class or just drop the class
the next day. When considering those two options that may affect your career
prospects by answering it right or wrong. to explain the best shot. You would need
some knowledge of your own mindspecifically, you would need to know what you
know and don t know about the exam.
Here s another example to explain the importance of knowledge of your own mind.
Suppose you meet a man that was homeless while walking down the street. If you
believe he was hungry and thirsty, then your give him food and something to drink.
If he believes he was hungry and thirsty, then you would give him some food and
water. But what would make him believe these things? Merely seeing a man on a
street or any individual on a corner without a home and wearing dirty rags clothes.
Still sometimes individuals cannot be determined homeless because they can be just
going through a rough time in their life. In practice,
But then the question that arises is what are the agency...
But then the question that arises is what are the agency problems solved by them and
why are boards the solution to these problems? The agency problem in any
corporation is between the management and the shareholders. And the problem arises
because of lack of control of shareholders on the management and the possibility of
the managementcheating the shareholders. The possible solution to this problem is
either providing the management with incentive or strengthening the position of
shareholders to tackle the problem on their own. But then the question arises who
provides the management with the incentives and how the shareholders are
strengthened. Thus the board can be seen as a bridge or a medium, as suggested by
literature, between... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another evidence that the board has become stricter is increase in the probabilities
of CEO dismissal. The board not only controls what the management does but also
the process of hiring and compensating the top executives. The question that arises
here is whether the board steps forward and acquires the costly signal about
competency of the CEO or not? On the other hand, how does the CEO influences
the board and gains control it, how well does the CEO market her capabilities in
order to bargain for less independent board? The question that arises here is that if
board controls the dismissal of CEO then why are directors reluctant to object to
CEO s decisions which are not in favor of the shareholders, why doesn t the board
remove the CEO when her performance is poor? Why do the board directors are
happy to always act as yes man instead of acting as a troublemaker or a strict
monitor . Mace (1986) shows that directors remain steadfastly loyal to misguided
CEOs.
Jensen (1993, pp. 862 3) observes in his Presidential Address to the American
Finance Association: The problems with corporate internal control systems start with
the board of directors. The board, at the apex of the internal control system, has the
final responsibility for the functioning of the firm. Most importantly, it sets the rules
of the game for the CEO. The job of the board is to hire, fire,

III is essential in gaining a conception of Carus definition of truth and whether he
himself believes this truth is sufficient in landscape painting. In his thesis on
landscape painting, Carus claims that mere truth is not in itself the noblest feature or
sole attraction of the painting stating that a painting must be able to exude the sense
that its existence is a result of the creativity that stems from the human mind. It seems
apparent by way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without the element of sublimity, what would be the need for landscape art?
Landscape art would simply be a duplication of what can be seen directly in nature.
This is precisely Carus point when he asserts that in terms of truth...the painting
[itself] is infinitely inferior (Carus p. 91).
In applying this idea to specific landscape paintings, Carus s thesis becomes more
easily understandable. Friedrich s Two Men Looking at the Moon depicts a
foreground scene in which two men are observing the moon from a nondescript
mountain path. It s monochromatic hues in shades of brown and grey suggest
nightfall. Due to the lack of middle ground in this painting, the foreground contrasts
directly with the on setting night sky, which is depicted in lighter hues of brown.
This contrast not only illuminates the figures in the foreground allowing the viewer
to project oneself into the figures experience with nature but also suggests the
converse relationship of the rational mind with the natural realm. As a result, this
painting essentially embodies Carus s theory. Not only does Friedrich truthfully
capture the essence of nature, but he also allows the spectator to join in on the
moment of contemplation depicted, inducing the critical sense of unity that Carus
discusses in Letter III.
Another integral component Carus discusses in his thesis is the ability of a genuine
work of art to contain a coherent whole, or otherwise serve as a world in

The Impact of Procrastination on College Students
I. INTRODUCTION
A.Background of the Study Procrastination is the act or habit of putting tasks on
hold. It is the unnecessary postponement of starting or finishing an undertaking,
which eventually leads to distress (Solomon Rothblum, 1984). The intentional delay
of due tasks is very common among students and lately, it has become prevalent in
college settings (Rabin, Fogel Nutter Upham, 2011).
According to Semb, Glick and Spencer (1979), the level of procrastination increases
as an individual stays longer in universities. It was stated by Ellis and Knaus (1977)
that approximately, over 70% of college students engage in this activity.
Undergraduates tend to start papers during the last minute; they fail to prioritize what
should be accomplished first, and as a result, their academic performance is greatly
affected. A detrimental effect on their studies leads to having poor grades and
eventually, failure in class (Semb, et.al., 1979).
Zeenath and Ocrullo (2012) indicated that university students procrastinate because of
its affective consequences. External factors, such as peer influence and coping
strategies, surrounding them also contribute to this. Furthermore, the way of teaching
of the professors also affects the performance of the students toward the tasks given to
them. Procrastination is the reason behind the poor academic performance and
unhealthy lifestyle of the students. However, even if the individuals receive negative
consequences, they still choose to
Coca Col Case Study Of Coca-Cola
Summary:
On August 5, 2003, The Centre for Science and the environment (CSE) issued a
maligning news report against Coca Cola, the leading manufacturer, marketer and
distributor of non alcoholic beverages. The report stated that 12 major cold drink
brands sold in and around Delhi contained deadly pesticide residues. Other
allegations against the company were water shortages due to Coca Cola s extraction
of water from the ground water table, discharging of harmful pollutants into the fields
and rivers, including the Ganges and selling of toxic wastes as fertilizers which
further polluted the soil and water table. Also water in the community has been
deemed to be unfit for consumption due to such pollution.

The company produces its non alcoholic beverages locally having around 7,000
employees at 27 wholly owned bottling operations supplemented by 17 franchisee
owned bottling operations. In addition, it indirectly creates employment for another
125,000 people via its procurement, supply and distribution network.
INTRODUCTION:
Coca Cola, deemed to be the no.1 brand in the world has been a success in the soft
drink industry over 100 years. However, with these success were a number of crisis
that followed along the way. One such crisis was the 2003 Coca Cola crisis, when
The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) issued a vilifying report against
Coca Cola and Pepsico. The CSE report revealed that a few of their products
contained harmful pesticide residues which surpassed the global standards.
SITUATION:
The CSE accusation posed great fear and concern for Coca Cola and their future
standing in India. After the discovery of the harmful pesticide residue, the Indian
Government banned Coke and Pepsico products. Subsequently, Coca Cola stock
dipped $5 in the New York Stock Exchange from $55 to $50. The two companies
responded to the accusation by stating that the CSE s reports were invalid. They
further strengthen their case by conducting an independent test whose reports showed
no detectable signs of
Juxtaposition In Devil In The White City
In Devil in the White City, Erik Larson details the favorable and heinous aspects of
Chicago during the progressive era. The characters in the novel contradicted each
other because of the nickname given for the World Fair White City and the nickname
for Chicago, Black City . Erik Larson effectively conveys in Devil in the White City
through diction, characterization and juxtaposition that although the there are two
contrasting plots, they both left a mark on society and impacted individual s lives.
Throughout the entire novel, Larson uses juxtaposition in many ways to show the
contradicting natures of good and evil in Devil in the White City. An example would
be the title itself. Devil in the White City . The White City is the a nickname... Show

This foreshadows to the audience about his malicious psychopathic personality,
which completely differs from the aura he gives. Larson writes a hidden allusion
to Jack the Ripper in the novel, a famous serial killer in the London area,
comparing the many similarities that H.H. Holmes and Jack the Ripper have in
common. Larson does this in order to compare the two serial killers and to show
the many hidden evils that Holmes is about to reveal in Chicago. Another allusion
towards Holmes was a comparison between him and the Devil. A confession by
Holmes in 1896 said I was born with the devil in me. I could not help the fact that I
was a murderer, no more than the poet can help the inspiration to sing (1). This
confession explains the allusion between him and the Devil, because he mentions
how he can t help the fact that he was a murderer. This allusion alarms many
individuals because the Devil is the evil spirit that brings
Steven Hawking s Lecture, 1999 Lead With The Question
``...
Steven Hawking s lecture in 1999 lead with the question Does God Play Dice?
Hawking s lecture focused on whether or not we were able to predict the future or
whether it is arbitrary and random. When deciding the factor does God Play Dice it
boils down to God and what it is we believe in.
There are stories in the Bible that talk about God as the creator of the universe and
along with that everything in it. Anyone who believes in God and accepts him as
such acknowledges that he has a hand in the creating nature. The existence of the
universe had to come about at some point in time or we wouldn t be here today,
right? When looking at different religious groups and looking briefly at their
beliefs, one that stood out to me was Deism. According to their website, Deists
believe that only one God exists. They believe while we have one God, he does not
intervene in the world, or interfere with human life and the laws of the universe.
(Basics of philosophy). If we follow the beliefs that are laid out in Deism, we are
under the belief that God watches over us but allows us to lead our own existence.
Being in our own existence having established that we do believe in god we need to
look into other smaller pictures that make up the big picture. Having determined our
belief in God we can turn our attention to the predictability of the future or whether it
s arbitrary and random or more planned and predictable.
If we follow the path of Deism and truly believe that while god is the
Employee Training Program Essay
Employee training programs are important in a business success. Without an effective
training program implemented the business could suffer from confused employees,
ill direction and incompetence. The new employee can only excel further when taken

There is a high importance in implementing commonly successful training procedures
such as audiovisual methods, E learning portal, and on the job experience.
Remember, the main purpose of employee training is to develop the employee s skill
which will eventually make the organization more profitable (Ameeq ul Ameeq,
Hanif, 2013).
Audiovisual Methods The use of audiovisual equipment like instructional DVDs,
CDs, or digital media is beneficial in initially showing an incoming employee how
the company s business works. DVDs, CDs, or digital media can assist employees
in need of training without the associated cost of a second instructing employee.
This can be of use when the training is monotonous and not required to have a high
level explanation. When possible, it can be helpful for the new employee to see his
or her own mistakes by recording. The recording of the employee s mistake and
later explanation of error and resolution in real time covering an action that is
observable by both parties (Snell Bohlander, p. 310, 2012).
E learning portal The electronic learning portal is taking place of many of the
employee training programs. This is because E learning portal can be used to
deliver the study material directly to the employee instead of the employee needing
to have a supervisor deliver it directly. This program has shown to save companies
anywhere between 30 and 70 percent over traditional methods (Fister, 2008). Utilizing
this system decreases
Pride And Prejudice Marriage Proposal Essay
In the novel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, the comical scene in which the
protagonist, Elizabeth, receives a marriage proposal from her cousin, Mr. Collins,
addresses the issue of the societal expectations regarding women accepting marriage
proposals. One wrong expectation that is reflect in this scene is a women must accept
a marriageproposal, even if she does not lovethe man, out of fear she will never
receive another one. Mr. Collins tells Elizabeth that she should marry him, because
she may never receive another proposal. Another struggle that exists in the novel is
the presumption that a woman should marry a man if he lives in better circumstances
than the woman. Mr. Collins tells Elizabeth that he lives in superior circumstances...

Collins s proposal is amusing it is also serious since it contains the fallible
expectations on women when they receive a marriage proposal. Elizabeth combats
theses expectations on women in marriage and do not allow them to be
contributing factors in her decision to accept or refuse a marriage proposal. Mr.
Collins warns Elizabeth that if she does not marry accept his marriage proposal
she may never marry since there is no guarantee she will ever receive a second
marriage proposal. Elizabeth defies this a still refuses to marry Mr. Collins. Mr.
Collins also mentions the idea that a woman should accept a marriage proposal if
it comes from a person who is more well to do. Even though Mr. Collins is more
well to do Elizabeth refuses to marry him. Finally, Elizabeth is sincere when she
refuses Mr. Collins proposal even though it was believed by Mr. Collins and even
her mother that a women is dishonest when she refuses a marriage
Potter Box Case

Potter Box was introduced by Professor Ralph Potter in 1965. Potter Box is used to
study the complex ethical issues that involves balancing possible harm to different
publics, and as a tool for managing dilemmas (Watley, 2013). Through this report, we
aim to use the four steps of Potter Box to understand this case study better, and to
help lead us towards a conclusion.
2.1 Defining the Situation
The first step of Potter Box is to understand the facts of the case, so that we have a
better understanding of the situation (Long, 2011). The person dealing with the
ethical dilemma, Nancy Grace, is a TV journalist, former prosecutor and TV host for
her self titled current affairs TV program on HLN TV. Current affairs is a type of...

Essay On Sleep Deprivation
As one FPMS student tries to go to sleep on one December night he tosses and
turns for what seems like eternity. He is full of trepidation and panic like he is
sinking into the depths of his worst fears as he rapidly thinks of horrendous
thoughts. All of a sudden the pop quiz that is tomorrow causes him to stay up even
longer. The clock on his bedside table flickers 1:00 am by the time he is asleep, he
needs to wake up at 6:00 am tomorrow for school too. A teen needs 8 hours of sleep,
but this middle schooler only got 5 hours of sleep.
The next morning in first hour the kid had humongous bags under his eyes. He
cannot stay focused in class and has been taking microsleeps which are small
episodes of sleep while you are awake. Lastly, his friends described him as irritated.
According to the National Institute of Health, these are all symptoms of sleep
deprivation. Sleep deprivation means the situation or condition of suffering from a
lack of sleep. When you are sleep deprived, it is like being a zombie from the
Walking Dead, as shown in he Anecdote above. I call this the zombie effect. This
student tells me When I am sleep deprived I am in a very bad mood and it affects
how I do in my everyday life.
Have you ever had this happen to you? Have you ever stayed up very late or just
could not fall asleep? If you have, you could be suffering from sleep deprivation too.

My Experience And The Otpf
Considering my experience and the OTPF, I believe that all occupations are
affected to an extent. Depending on the person and the mental illness some areas
of concern is, ADL s, IADL s, work, leisure, social participations and sleep. The
mental illness population will struggle with social participation, withdrawing from
their family, friends and their peers. They will experience difficulty functioning at
school or work, leading to them dropping out of school or losing their job, possibly
due to problems with memory and thinking. I think for some, if not most of the
population they start feeling disconnected from reality. I think other areas of concern
are sleep, eating, and hygiene habits, for example, they may struggle with gathering
necessary supplies for bathing and washing their hair. One of the things I witnessed
at ETBH is the amount of clients admitted with drug or alcohol abuse, which can
lead to a continuous pattern because it makes them feel better and the symptoms
dissipate for a short time. Which can also lead to mood changes and thoughts of
suicide. The mental illness population can struggle in any one of these occupations
or multiple areas, maybe due to a lack of motivation or lack of structure in their
everyday lives. People with mental illness struggle with how they may think, feel,
mood swings, and their behavior. It affects their ability to relate to others and
function in daily occupations. From what I have witnessed, what is important and
has meaning to

During the second week of July, 1971, Kissinger arrived in Beijing, where he heard

I Hate Reading
I hate reading. This mantra ran through my head with the bitter intensity of a six
year old s anger. I could be watching the crackling fireplace with imagined fairies
that darted through the flame and lived in houses made of burning wood. I could be
climbing the trees with branches that stretched twig fingers toward the endless sky. I
could normally be doing a myriad of different possibilities, but not today.
My mother claimed I needed to learn to read before second grade began, and
trapped me in is a single activity. Instead of doing my favored activities I
compliantly allowed the rough carpet to press indentations into my skin as I began
to read. The book s smooth cover clung to my fingertips as I looked for meaning in
the indecipherable syllables. I sat with water threatening to spill from my eyes,
lost in a sea of letters with waves of words battering me from all sides. However, I
blinked and tentatively pressed my lips into the hum of a m . I searched the depths
of my mind for the meaning of the next letter, letting the hum trail into eternity. Once
again, I identified the letter with time and opened my mouth to the sound of an a .
Instinctively, I looked to my mother for aid in my plight, as I desperately wracked

Essay on The Allegory in The Minister’s Black Veil
The Allegory in The Minister s Black Veil
It is the purpose of this essay to show that Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Minister s
Black Veil is indeed an allegory. M. H. Abrams defines an allegory as a narrative,
whether in prose or verse, in which the agents and actions, and sometimes the setting
as well, are contrived by the author to make coherent sense on the literal, or primary,
level of signification, and at the same time to signify a second, correlated order of
signification (5).
Yvor Winters in Maule s Curse, or Hawthorne and the Problem of Allegory says that
Hawthorne is essentially an allegorist (11). Stanley T. Williams in Hawthorne s

Generally speaking, his parishioners fail to appreciate the meaning of the veil, but
they are more spiritually helped when listening to the minister s sermons, when
attending a funeral which Hooper conducts, and when at the hour of death.
At the outset of the tale the sexton is tolling the church bell and simultaneously
watching Mr. Hooper s door, when suddenly he says, ``But what has good Parson
Hooper got upon his face? The surprise which the sexton displayed is repeated in
the astonishment of the onlookers: With one accord they started, expressing more
wonder. . . The reason is this: Swathed about his forehead, and hanging down over his
face, so low as to be shaken by his breath is a black veil. The 30 year old, unmarried
parson receives a variety of reactions from his congregation:
``I can t really feel as if good Mr. Hooper s face was behind that piece of crape
``He has changed himself into something awful, only by hiding his face
``Our parson has gone mad!
Few could refrain from twisting their heads towards the door. . . .
. . . more than one woman of delicate nerves was forced to leave the
meeting house.
At this point begins the external conflict of the drama between the minister and the
people of his congregation, which will last until his death. Except for the sable veil,
Reverend Hooper is quite a compatible and sociable personality:

Dear City Council: I am writing you concerning matters of restoring balance to the

of occurrences locally, chemical factors, as well as physical, make up the

The leaves of the new plants can contain chemicals that add to the ecosystem
problem in the lake. Many more problems can occur within the environment, leaving
animals are to feed off of the non native harmful crops, and the chain will go on
because humans feed off of animals. Ultimately the entire community can be affected
by this Carp problem. Keep in mind it is not the intent of the invasive species to be
invasive or they start off being invasive then the ecosystem will find a unique way of
bringing everything under control on its own. The ecosystem in town possesses
many mechanisms that it needs to keep the whole system equally balanced. The
dynamics to help persons in this city strive and restore include predation; the need to
prey on other animals is how a species survive, but it should be under control.
Conditions and temperature play a large role as well. It is the responsibility of the
humans to control the conditions that come into the town by understanding the
animals and fish that come into the environment and lake. The environment needs the
help and support of the community to be successful. When everyone is working
together and not against each other things tend to come together easier because
everyone is working towards the same goal and objective. Prairie Dog Festival held
each summer celebrates the community s environment awareness. Sparksville is
facing a hardship, and the goal is to get things back in order

The Evolution of High Heels Essay
Introduction
Evolution suggests that life began as relatively small and simple organism and
developed into various complex organisms today. Charles Darwin proposed his
Theory of Evolution, forming the foundation of evolutionary biology. He suggested
that the origins of new life and evolution are caused by natural selection over
successive generations. It allows differential reproduction of genotypes. There are
five principles drawn upon the observation and assumption of evolution, which are
reproductive potential, constancy of number, struggle for existence, individual
differences and inheritance of traits. According to Darwin s Theory of Evolution,
differences in species are caused by continuous and accumulative small changes over

Women s Role For Women
The possession of attributes or rather qualities that are traditionally associated with
men is called masculinity. Men have always felt superior to women while women
are referred to as the weaker sex. Boys are raised up knowing that they are the
stronger gender and that there are some tasks, which they can perform well than their
female counterparts. The debate about equality for both genders has dominated the
media over the years, from the times of feminism (the 1980s) to post feminism
(Hokowhitu).
In politics, the belief about masculinity is still a major issue that has been discussed
over the years. Women fight to receive equal treatment in leadership and

feminists like Phyllis Schlafly and Michelle Obama, whose aim is to fight for
equality between the two genders. Trump is against the feminism culture that is
slowly gaining popularity. The feeling of masculinity and the notion those women
are not strong enough to handle some physically demanding jobs has been a
challenge for those women who strive to compete with men in such areas of work.
Michelle came up strongly against Trump s campaign that is based on discriminating
women by terming them as a weaker sex. She talked about a post feminism era
where people should be talking about equality and not a fight among male and female
genders. To her, Trump s masculine chauvinism takes the country back to the 1980s
when feminists rose against gender discrimination on women (Gupta).
Towards the end of his commentary, Gupta still displays his doubt on women
leadership. He mentions several female leaders like the British Prime Minister Teresa
May whom he doubts her effectiveness
How Sleep Disorders Change a Day and Night
Imagine being that person who can t fall asleep or not having control over when
you re about to fall asleep, these might be scenario but for 100 million Americans
who suffer from these disorders it s reality. This is a medical condition called
somnipathy or more commonly known as a sleep disorder, which can affect a
persons sleeping pattern if there are severe effects. There are many sleep disorders
but the most common ones people know about are Insomnia, Sleep apnea, night
terrors, and Narcolepsy. Amongst these four sleeping disorders, their effects could
potentially cause pain to a person not only mentally but physically.

A person is supposed to moving through the different REM stages throughout the
night and so their breathing changes or stop to adjust to new stage, with sleep apnea
they stop breathing for longer period than necessary. After time affects them in a
negative way and takes a toll on their body.
The third sleep disorder, Night terrors are deep episodes that seem to produce terror,
although any terrifying mental experience (such as a dream) is usually forgotten
on awakening (pg. 343). Night terrors are uncommon, and only affect a small
percentage of children between the ages of four and twelve. This percentage is
even smaller for adults. Most children grow out of night terrors by the time they are
adolescents to adults. But it still brings up concern because with night terrors
comes the behaviors like walking in your sleep, punching, kicking and choking
someone you love. Once woken, the sleepers will have no recollection of what they
were scared about. Occasionally some adults may be able to remember bits and
pieces of their terror. Most night terrors come about if a person had something tragic
happen to them sometime throughout their life. For instance if a child was beaten
repetitively or sexually assaulted, they are more prone to night terrors.
The last common sleep disorder is, Narcolepsy which is a disorder of REM sleep,
involving sleep onset REM periods and sudden daytime
An Inside View Of Grigory Rasputin s Life
In this ambitious work, Fuhrmann endeavors to ascertain the existence of a class
of philosophers in Russian society. If philosophy, and not merely religion,
Fuhrmann examines the life of Rasputin and the vital role he played in the
downfall of Russia. Fuhrmann book gives an inside view of Grigory Rasputin s life
and how he took advantage of the Russian tradition of the wondering peasant holy
man, walking village to village and stating that he had a direct connection with God.
Researchers claimed that Rasputin exploited the last Romanov couple Nicholas and
Alexandra by using his mystical powers to enchant them into believe in him.

In many instances many people do not trust the tsar or tsarina judgment because of
the presence of Rasputin. Rasputin becomes more of a nuisance to the royal family
because he s very uneducated and makes poor choices. His St. Petersburg
apartment became a very busy office where he would take care of medical
problems and with his healing powers. He let payment be paid in money, pledges
of loyalty, or the most controversial kisses. This would have passed with no
questions if at that time Russia were not entering a period of crisis of war.
Nicholas was forced to grant the constitution and convene a parliament. Many
loved and admired the tsar he was remarkably charming and just gave a special
atmosphere to the people. Though during these times Nicholas s greatest problems
came from the moderate opposition. Liberals and moderate conservatives were
alarmed over defeats. Nicholas refused to share power with the Duma. As time
past in Russia tsar Nicholas and Alexandra became very unpopular with the people
of Russia. By the early 1916 Alexandra was the most hated woman in Russia. Much
popular opinion held that she was the leader of the dark forces that was driving the
Russian nation to destruction. By as early as 1915 the name Grigory Rasputin was
in everyone s lips. As time progress the situation was even worse. Rasputin s
relationship with the royal family took on a poignant character in the final months.
Fuhrmann writes Rasputin s last day s gracefully stating that Rasputin was in a state
of deep depression during the last three days of his life. A few days late Rasputin was
murdered by Felix Yusupov which not many historians understand why. Many
believed that he feared that Rasputin was undermining Nicholas s government and
opening a path to a revolution in

Chapter 1: Introduction
In today s fast moving, highly competitive industrial world, a company must be
flexible, cost effective and efficient if it wishes to survive. In Process and
Manufacturing Industries, this has resulted in a great demand for industrial automation
in order to streamline operations in terms of speed, reliability, and product output.
Industries involve many products to be manufactured and should be divided into

Role of the Public Prosecutor
Role of the Public Prosecutor in the Criminal Justice SystemIn independent India, it
goes without saying that the criminal justice system (hereafter CJS) must function
within the framework of the principles enunciated by the Constitution. Broadly
speaking, these are as follows : The guarantee of equality before the law Equal
protection of the laws Prohibition of discrimination imposed upon the State
Deprivation of life / personal liberty only in accordance with procedure established
by law Presumption of innocence of the accused The requirement of proof beyond
reasonable doubt The right of the accused to remain silent Arrest and detention in

Outside these developments, other pressures such as patriarchal prejudices and caste
/class biases impinge upon the functioning of the State and its agencies. These
questions assume greater significance in situations where those arraigned for trial
are functionaries and agents of the State itself. Evidences related to the 1984 anti
Sikh massacre in Delhi, the 1992 anti Muslim violence in Mumbai and the 2002 state
sponsored genocide in Gujarat have all convincingly named and shown public
servants in the role of perpetrators, conspirators and abettors in serious crimes
including murder, rape and arson. Can a Public Prosecutor functioning within the
present system discharge the onerous burden of bringing such persons to book? Does
this not make the case for greater autonomy for the prosecution to enable it to act
freely and outside the executive? This project examines institutional and statutory
checks and balances in the present legal system that enable the prosecutor to function
independently uninfluenced by politics. The adequacy of these checks and the need
for increased autonomy are key concerns of the project. This project also looks at
the pathetic state of infrastructure and facilities available to Public Prosecutors. It is
paradoxical that although the rhetoric of a hard state is propounded by parties of all
hues, not even rudimentary facilities are provided to Public
The Evolving Dichotomy Of Incremental And Radical
Innovations
The book Managing Innovation defines innovation as to see connections, spot
opportunities and take advantage of them . It is turning ideas and knowledge into
products and services . (Tidd, 2005) In recent years, firms have paid closer attention
to innovation, and many have heavily invested in the field. In this paper, we will
explore the evolving dichotomy of incremental and radical innovations for their
integral role in firm competitiveness. We will examine the prevailing theories and
models such as the Schumpeter theory, Abernathy Utterback model, Teese s models,
and Henderson Clark Model; to analyze incumbent firms positions in market
fluctuations, and how to surmount these issues from an epistemological standpoint.
Prior to jumping to the competitiveness aspect of the question, one must understand
the impacts innovation can have on firms. Furthermore no person can better describe
such a relationship but the godfather of innovation Joseph Schumpeter, who believed
that innovation can be seen as creative destruction waves that rebuild the entire
business sector from the constant need to create something new; which results in the
dismantle of the old. Schumpeter also argued that once an entrepreneur/ innovator
comes up with a successful idea, he/ she will make some capital out of it, which he
refers to as monopoly profit. However soon other entrepreneurs will begin to catch
up and imitate the idea, until an equilibrium is reached; which creates a cycle of new
Civil Society Brewing Case Study
March 19th, 2016 forever changed the beer landscape for Jupiter, Florida. This was
the first of what will be many bottle and/or can releases for one of the newest
breweries to grace the South Florida horizon. A woman walking by asked me what
the line was for. I proceeded to explain how Civil Society Brewing was having their
first bottle release which in this case was in the form a 32oz crowler. 375 crowlers (3
per person) would, in fact, be released to fans who had come from as far away as
Miami. What is Pulp you ask? Well, it is an American pale wheat ale that comes in
at 6.3% abv. Civil takes the wheat beer to a whole new level by lovingly caressing
it with Columbus and Mosaic hops which give it the sweet smell and taste of a
myriad of citrus flavors. Pulp pours with just the slightest of yellow haze... Show

We opened a growler of Tree House Brewing s Double Shot, a bottle of Hardywood
Park Craft Breweries Foolery, and a bottle of Casey Brewing s East Bank. By the
time 11:00am had rolled around the line had reached 67 craft beer loving souls.
The doors were opened and ID s were checked. The whole process ran very smooth.
Folks waited in line for a few minutes until reaching the front where they chose a
wristband which was color coordinated with the number of crowlers they were
purchasing. Once the wristband was received we were able to purchase something
from the tap menu. Other than Pulp the two hits of the morning seemed to be the
two treatments of Gary. Gary is Civil s milk stout which was treated with
Hazelnuts for Gary goes nuts and with bananas foster for Gary goes bananas. I m
usually not a big fan of hazelnut beers, but Gary goes nuts was delicious. Gary goes
bananas was also very good, but the hazelnut took the win for me. The last crowler of
Pulp was sold just before 2:00pm to finish off Civil s first release with flying
Yona The Coward Analysis
Yehuda Yaari explores personal motivation in his short story, Yona the Coward . By
analyzing the rising action that culminates in Yona s climactic murder of the Arabs,
Yona s motivations in killing the Arabs are revealed. However, analyzing Yona s
conduct throughout Yona the Coward , reveals a clear contradiction. Rather than
heeding his established nature as a Coward and the human instinct for self
preservation, Yona carried out an suicidal attack on the Arabs. A further examination
of the text reveals two factors that, in conjunction, allowed Yona to overcome his past
cowardice and human instinct for self preservation. Only by believing that his life
had no purpose while also being motivated to act in opposition to his father, could...

This conduct is shown in the climax of the short story, as text states, He was
looking for something. He himself hardly knew for what. A large bread knife kay
on the shelf in front of him, and then he knew. He seized the knife and slipped out
into darkness... Yona lay a little further on, his fists still clenched, his body riddled
with bullets; beside him lay the bread knife, red with blood. In this passage, Yona
was searching for something without knowing what he was searching for . It was
Yona s true life purpose to act as his father does not that drove Yona, when the text
states, A large knife law on the shelf in front of him, and then he knew. He seized
the knife. As Yona was compelled to embrace violence in order to oppose his
father, Yona knew that it was the knife he was searching for. While Yona s true life
purpose, opposing his father, caused Yona to seize the knife, Yona could only
carry out his attack with the knife due to his belief that his life carried no meaning,
shown through the text s description of Yona; his body riddled with bullets. Since
Yona believed that his body had parted with his soul and carried no life meaning,
body , in this context, represents only Yona s person and not any soul carrying life
purpose. Thus, when Yona was killed in his attack of the Arabs, it was only his
body or meaningless life that was affected. A belief in life purpose did not impede
Yona from killing the arabs as it was only his body not any soul that was
The Smell Of Urine Plague
The smell of urine plague the location you re at in a stairwell somewhere in the
projects of Chicago. Young men, ages of high school students believe you are a spy
from a rival, threatening to kill you. You know you can t do anything at this point to
convince them you are not a rival nor part of any gangbut a student surveying poor
African Americans from the University of Chicago. Their leader, J.T. after spending
the night with them, releases you, just to get an invitation to learn about the poor
community they live in and experience their everyday lives. To be honest, I have
never experienced something like Sudhir Venkatesh, author of Gang Leader for a
day has. He was a sociologygrad student when he wrote this book, interacting with
gangs and their struggles. You can say that Venkatesh went from being a sociologist
to a sociologist gone wrong by following around Black Kings for about seven or so
years within the Robert Taylor Home community, jotting down notes and meeting up
with citizens of the community. You can debate whether or not, Venkatesh was being
ethical and not. Venatesh formed relationships with his study, which was unethical by
his lack of consent, which in return, disrespected the community. He misunderstood
their rights, writing down notes whenever he could behind their back or even
remembering everything before he got home, making sure no one would see him
doing such things. Academic writings like For Whom, written by Michelle Fine,

Emulating the Work of the Limbourg Brothers’
Through...
The Belles Heures of Jean de France is a prayer book also called a book of hours,
which was made for Jean de France, the Duke of Berry by Herman, Paul and Jean
de Limbourg, more commonly known as The Limbourg Brothers. The Limbourg
Brothers were actively making artwork in France during the early 1400s. Though
they were all still teenagers they were very skilled as artists, and so they were hired
to create a personal Bible for Jean de France by his brother Philip the Bold, Duke of
Burgundy.
The book was to be used as a private devotional to the Virgin Mary; in fact Belles
Heures actually translates to beautiful hours. This title is not only used because the
book is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, but also because the Belles Heures is... Show

The precise folio I copied from the Belles Heures of Jean de France, Duke of Berry
comes from the Hours of the Passion. The folio, numbered 142r, is entitled Christ
Offered the Sop . This folio is one of three folios in total that depict in Crucifixion
of Christ in the Belles Heures. The scene portrayed is taken from an account in the
Gospels in which Christ on the cross calls out that He is thirsty. The soldiers
standing by soak a sponge in vinegar that they stick onto a spear or a reed and offer
to Him. Flanking either side of the cross are the Virgin Mary and the young apostle
John the Beloved (Saint John) who are weeping as Christ suffers.
As I looked at other illuminations from this book of hours, I noticed that the
foreground of each usually appeared to be very small and limited in space while I
found that many of the background spaces were filled with some type of pattern. This
folio is a perfect representation of this style that the Limbourg Brothers implemented
in their manuscript work which I kept in mind to include as I did my own recreation
of the folio.
The materials that the Limbourg Brothers used in creating this folio were ink,
tempera, and gold leaf on vellum. I substituted a few of these materials in the
making of my own. Instead of vellum, I used calligraphic parchment paper, which I
found had a color similar to the
Challenges Faced United Arb Emirates (UAE) Health Care
System
UAE Health Care System Strategy
To achieve anything you want it you must put strategy to how you can achieve it
successfully, and that s what United Arab Emirates (UAE) health care system did.
The ambition of the UAE health care system to become one of the favorite
destinations for local patients as well as a center for international medical tourists
require high quality and cost effective procedure and treatment, that s what makes
UAE put long term strategy to achieve this aspiration (world health organization,
2005 2009). In order to support the health care system, the UAE government
increasingly focused its effort to attract special high level health care providers to the
UAE. However, despite the strong support of the UAE government, health care
providers, still facing major challenges to grow and operate in the Emarites. There are
several challenges faced UAE health care system, but the government and the health
care system reject Surrender and still confront challenges neither tiredness nor
boredom from its side.
Challenges
One of the great challenges was faced health care development is the lack of
standardization of instructions and regulations across the UAE and the various stages
of health care development in each emirate. These challenges formed a huge handicap
to the strategy of development of the health care system. Dubai Healthcare City
(DHCC), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Authority of Abu Dhabi(HADD), and The
Ministry of Health are examples of the several
The Characteristics Of Frederick DouglassGifts And Heros
Leaders at my church often say, god wants his people to use their unique gifts and
talents to serve others. Heroes are a great example of people who use their gifts to
serve others; however, their gifts are not always superpowers. In spite of the
stereotypes, many heroes are average people with a dream of something better for
themselves and others. For instance Frederick Douglass was a slave, yet he still
became a hero. Despite the many trials he escaped and used his gifts of speech and
writing to inspire hope in millions. Frederick Douglass spoke about the horrendous
experience of being a slave because many people back then did not truly
understand. Through these speeches he created a book and years later when the
civil war broke out he convinced the U.S Army to allow African Americans to join
to earn freedom. Although, Frederick was not done yet, after they gained freedom
he protested that it is pointless for African Americans to be free but not have the
same rights as White Americans. These protest led to the abolishment of slavery.
Frederick Douglass is clearly a hero, but what characteristics do all heroes need?
Simple, a hero must be brave and determined to make a change and they can not be
arrogant in anyway. Furthermore, in the real world all heroes use bravery as a way
to repel fear and their bravery helps others show bravery. For example, Deamonte
Love had to show a great amount of bravery when he and a few other children got
separated from their parents.
Hamlet Paradoxes In Hamlet
Of all the phrases that are said today, paradoxes take up many of them. William
Shakespeare s, Hamlet: Prince of Denmark, is one that expands the idea of
paradoxes. This play shows a distinct demarcation between purity and corruption.
Shakespeare s character Gertrude is that line. Shakespeare s main goal of Gertrude is
to show that two extreme opposites cannot work in one person. The stark difference
between Gertrude and her son Hamletis their grieving period. Hamlet is obviously
disgusted at how quickly his mother ceases her grieving of her husband. This is the
first example of the life Gertrude lives. She, arguably, should be grieving extremely,
but instead she has moved on. Gertrude encourages Hamlet, Do not forever with thy
vailed lids / seek for thy noble father in the dust. / Thou know st tis common; all that
lives must die, passing through nature to eternity (1.2.70 73). Her actions speak of a
normal death on his behalf. It is natural to live and die. Hamlet is one the... Show

In between the duel, the plot to kill Hamlet goes awry when Gertrude drinks the
poison. Gertrude s last breath is used to say, No, no, the drink, the drink! O, my
dear Hamlet! / The drink, the drink! I am poisoned (5.2.289, 290). It is easy to
write this off as her stating the obvious, but in actuality it is interpreted to mean
that Gertrude finally sees herself. She seees the corruption of Claudius and their
marriage, her husband s death, and her actions. In Franco Zeffirelli s adaption,
Gertrude says, The king, the king has poisoned me. I am poisoned, (Hamlet, 1990).
More than just seeing her own corruption, she sees Claudius too. Gertrude dies and
then a chain reaction of death dies, but before Hamlet dies also he tells Horatio,
Wretched queen adieu, (5.2.312). Once again, Shakespeare speaks on the corrupt
nature of a beautiful woman s exterior. Gertrude s death finally sharpens the line of
her paradoxical

The Silent Discount Dilemm Ppos
The Silent Discount Dilemma: PPOS In the world of health care finance, managers
are faced with many ethical decisions. This is often the case when it comes to the
medical billing side of healthcare. There are currently several billing schemes in
practice that are under scrutiny by the American Hospital Association (AHA) and
the American Medical Association (AMA). One such scheme is the practice of
taking discounts on medical claims that your company is not entitled to. This
practice is referred to as a silent PPO. To understand this practice better, it is
important to understand what a PPO is and how it works. The acronym PPO stands
for Preferred Provider Organization. A Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) is one

Instead, customers are encouraged to use providers within the network through
offering them reduced rates for service. When a customer uses a provider that
participates with the program, they pay less in the form of out of pocket
copayments. These discounts are available because the health care providers
within the network have contracts with the PPO stating the agreed upon
discounted rates the providers will be paid when they provide services for
members of that particular PPO (Gapenski, 2013). A silent PPO is what you have
when a legitimate PPO sells its provider network information to other groups or to
brokers (Jones, C., Mills, T., 20060. The hospitals and physician groups who have
contracted with that PPO to provide discounted rates usually do not know anything
about this outside arrangement. This practice allows payors to receive discounts
that they are not legally entitled to (Jones, C., Mills, T., 2006). Any time a payor
receives the under the counter discounts on medical claims that the provider is not
legally obligated to give, it is referred to as a silent PPO (Speisman, A.,
Hachenburg, M., 2006). It is perfectly legal for PPOs to make the information
regarding who their preferred providers are, as well as the discounts that the PPO
has contracted with these providers, available. According to current law, it is also
legal for the PPO to charge a fee for this information. Brokers can buy this
information, and sell it to payors. The

Firstly, finding appropriate examples for evaluation requires extensive research and critical analysis. It's not just about picking any examples; they need to be relevant, representative, and suitable for the purpose of evaluation. It requires providing sufficient context for the examples, explaining the criteria used for evaluation, and presenting a well-structured argument. • 2. Dodge Brothers Research Paper Colten Gearhart Mr. Veronesi Technical Communications 2A 21 September, 2017 If you haven t got room for two of us, neither of us will start. (John Francis Dodge) John Dodge stated that because he has worked with his brother for years and he will not work without him. They were a very close family but they would not have anybody with the last name Dodge working in their factory. Another Great Quote From John Dodge would be, I am tired of being carried around in Henry Ford s vest pocket. (John Francis Dodge). For the longest time they worked for Henry ford until Ford pulled the reigns back on the brothers. • 3. The Conflict Of The West Bank And Gaza Strip One State, Two States Few, if any, modern conflicts are as complex as the Arab Israeli conflict. Specifically, the political situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip has led to bloodshed, political high wire acts, and cycles of hope and disappointment for decades. Consensus has generally leaned towards advocated a two state solution for the conflict, in which the Israelremains a Jewish state, and the Palestinian Arabs establish their own country carved from currently Israeli occupied territories. This solution has become more infeasible, not more attainable, efforts to find a lasting peace have occurred. The main alternative, a one state solution, in which one nation takes full control of the Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While UN Security Council Resolution 242 called for Israel to remove itself from these areas and return to its pre 1967 War borders (Farsakh 2005), Israel continued its presence in the region. In the years that have followed, numerous solutions have been proposed to solve the crisis and to bring a lasting peace and sense of stability to the area. The solution most supported up to now has been the two state solution. In this solution, parts of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (likely the full area in the latter) would become part of an independent, self governing Palestinian state, while the rest of the area would become Israeli territory. With this, Palestinians would have a nation state and could chart their own political and cultural course. Most nations and international organizations have lent their support to this idea, including the US, the UN, and Israel and Palestinian Authority (Sanger 2016), forming the basis for most peace talks aiming to resolve the conflict. The question that now remains is why has this solution not yet been achieved? The disagreement on the borders of each state remains one of the primary roadblocks to achieving the two state solution. There exists no consensus on which land would belong to Israel and which to an independent Palestinian state. One complicating issue in
  • 4. Strengths And Weaknesses Of Leadership The first step to analyzing my personal leadership practices is to evaluate my strengths and weaknesses as a leader. One of the tools used to evaluate my leadership profile is the Seven Habits Profile, attached to this analysis. After completing this Seven Habits profile, some of the leadership strengths and weaknesses I knew I possessed were reinforced with the results of this survey. Scoring highest, were my strengths of putting first things first and sharpening the saw. These two strengths were followed closely by a third place tie of being in tune with my emotional bank account and ability to be proactive. Scoring lowest were my two greatest weaknesses, which are seeking first to understand and life balance. Tied in third place as weaknesses are thinking win win and synergize. One of my highest scoring strengths is my ability to put first things first. This came to me as no surprise, as I see this dominant characteristic in almost every aspect of my life. Whether professionally or personally, my ability to see what needs to get done coupled with my drive to cross things off my to do list has been a strength of mine as far back as I can remember. My personality is inclined to work first, play later. I tend to enjoy work and personal life at a greater capacity when I know there are no pressing matters to tend to. Another strength identified in the Seven Habits Profile is my ability to sharpen the saw. Personal growth in all aspects, including spiritual, physical, mental
  • 5. Raleigh Hills Stereotypes Raleigh Hills is a small suburb just within Portland city limits, in the southwest hills of Washington County, though many often mistake it for being within Beaverton. Housing a population of 5,896 people as of the 2010 census, the vast majority of the population is composed of either married couples (50.8%), non families (39.6%), or individuals (33.4%). So, in this way it deviates from the general vision of the suburbs being moreso oriented towards families with children, but in my little cul de sac, such a stereotype is perpetuated. Well, there s at least one family with children in the neighborhood, due to the fact that I ll often see a particular group of boys walking down the street. The neighborhood was named after one of Washington countys... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yes, there are a few local businesses in the area, but very few are worth mentioning, at least by Portland s standards. There s a McMenamins bar and a highly acclaimed lumber supply store, but otherwise, it s either chains or shady storefronts. What I find so funny about my neighborhood is how desperately they try to be like Portland, or the mainland as I like to call it. But alas, it is merely a subsidiary, its own entity, despite what any of the zoning codes may state. Most people when in the area are there because they re obligated to; they need to run errands, pick up their kids from school or it s on their way to work. In short, it s hardly a destination, it s not trendy. There are no swanky hangouts or coffee shops. Everyone who lives here keeps to themselves and goes about their day, which does have its benefits. For instance, I personally like feeling a sense of solitude when I m at home, and this is definitely provided for me in my pseudo cul de sac. I can play my music as loud as I want with no complaints, other than those who actually live in my house. I don t fear someone looking in on me whilst relaxing in my rumpled PJ s, my greasy hair pulled into a bun too messy to be perceived as cute. I am able to reflect in the peace that I so often crave. I have a
  • 6. Social Mobility In The Medieval And Renaissance Time Period Throughout early British literature and history, there has been a gradual change in social class. In the Anglo Norman time period, feudalism was in place which did not allow much movement among the classes. However, that is not the case in the Medieval and Renaissance time period. During these times, there were factors that played a part in allowing social mobility to take place. In the duration of the Anglo Norman, Medieval, and Renaissance eras the options of social mobility changed dramatically and possessed more alternative options people in these eras. During the Anglo Norman time period there was not a chance for people to truly move through the social classes. Everyone was in their set class that they were born into and were not able... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This poem explains how one knight s dedication to his king lead him to be respected and praised more among his fellow knights. Sir Gawain is part of the upper class due to his relation to King Arthur, Take care young cousin... (The Pearl Poet 372). Attributable to this, he did not truly move up in class when he became a knight, but he was given a position and was most likely respected more than he might be if he did not become a knight. However, after he accepted the Green Knight s challenge in Arthur s place, he managed to move up among his own class. Near the end, the Green Knight tells Sir Gawain, you re by the far the most faultless fellow on earth ... In good faith, so is Gawain, amongst gallant knights (The Pearl Poet 2363 2365). • 8. A Company s Corporate Social Responsibility When looking at a company s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the tie in to consumer confidence, the apparel industry illustrates both the best and the worst cases. Today s consumers are more aware of how multinational corporations are incorporating or failing to incorporate CSR practices throughout the product lifecycle. This awareness has pushed companies in the apparel industry like Nike and Gap to evaluate current practices and incorporate socially responsible and environmentally responsible policies throughout their supply chain. Product Lifecycle The push for companies to become both ethically and environmentally conscientious has created a push for companies to evaluate all stages of product creation. CSR practices will directly impact the lifecycle pricing of these products. For example, wages have increased in developing countries when CSR practices have been implemented in the apparel industry. This increases the production costs which will influence the lifecycle pricing. In addition to increased wages, acquisition and disposal of raw materials also plays an important role in the pricing. Sourcing in the apparel industry costs more to organically produce cotton, especially in developing countries. Mass production of cotton is cheaper, but is usually not ecologically friendly; however, sourcing of products is only one portion of the picture. Often forgotten, is the need for disposal of waste material. Environmentally concerned stakeholders are

Dealing with the importance of combating injustice, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee seems to be a straightforward lesson. The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton, as I have heard, is a book that would make you angry. The moral lesson is that one should have courage to be themselves and not follow the status quo. The animals used to live longer as a result of cold temperatures that used to slow down their rates of metabolism hence the longer life span. Temperatures today are very high as a result of climatic changes. The increased temperatures have actually led to increase in the metabolic rate of the animals hence the reduction in the life span. This explains why animals today cannot even live for more than five years and then remain productive all along as animals could live for a whole decade but still remain very productive. It is believed that the presence of favorable climatic conditions usually increase the life span of animals or even plants by more than 20 percent. This is very reason the people back in the 1700s all the way to the late 1800s used to live long and they were not really exposed to the kind of diseases that people are currently exposed to (Letcher, T. Landscape art would simply be a duplication of what can be seen directly in nature. This is precisely Carus point when he asserts that in terms of truth...the painting [itself] is infinitely inferior (Carus p. 91). In applying this idea to specific landscape paintings, Carus s thesis becomes more easily understandable. Friedrich s Two Men Looking at the Moon depicts a foreground scene in which two men are observing the moon from a nondescript mountain path. It s monochromatic hues in shades of brown and grey suggest nightfall. Due to the lack of middle ground in this painting, the foreground contrasts directly with the on setting night sky, which is depicted in lighter hues of brown. This contrast not only illuminates the figures in the foreground allowing the viewer to project oneself into the figures experience with nature but also suggests the converse relationship of the rational mind with the natural realm. As a result, this painting essentially embodies Carus s theory. Not only does Friedrich truthfully capture the essence of nature, but he also allows the spectator to join in on the moment of contemplation depicted, inducing the critical sense of unity that Carus discusses in Letter III. Another integral component Carus discusses in his thesis is the ability of a genuine work of art to contain a coherent whole, or otherwise serve as a world in

  • 23. The Impact of Procrastination on College Students I. INTRODUCTION A.Background of the Study Procrastination is the act or habit of putting tasks on hold. It is the unnecessary postponement of starting or finishing an undertaking, which eventually leads to distress (Solomon Rothblum, 1984). The intentional delay of due tasks is very common among students and lately, it has become prevalent in college settings (Rabin, Fogel Nutter Upham, 2011). According to Semb, Glick and Spencer (1979), the level of procrastination increases as an individual stays longer in universities. It was stated by Ellis and Knaus (1977) that approximately, over 70% of college students engage in this activity. Undergraduates tend to start papers during the last minute; they fail to prioritize what should be accomplished first, and as a result, their academic performance is greatly affected. A detrimental effect on their studies leads to having poor grades and eventually, failure in class (Semb, et.al., 1979). Zeenath and Ocrullo (2012) indicated that university students procrastinate because of its affective consequences. External factors, such as peer influence and coping strategies, surrounding them also contribute to this. Furthermore, the way of teaching of the professors also affects the performance of the students toward the tasks given to them. Procrastination is the reason behind the poor academic performance and unhealthy lifestyle of the students. However, even if the individuals receive negative consequences, they still choose to

Hawking s lecture focused on whether or not we were able to predict the future or whether it is arbitrary and random. When deciding the factor does God Play Dice it boils down to God and what it is we believe in. There are stories in the Bible that talk about God as the creator of the universe and along with that everything in it. Anyone who believes in God and accepts him as such acknowledges that he has a hand in the creating nature. The existence of the universe had to come about at some point in time or we wouldn t be here today, right? When looking at different religious groups and looking briefly at their beliefs, one that stood out to me was Deism. According to their website, Deists believe that only one God exists. They believe while we have one God, he does not intervene in the world, or interfere with human life and the laws of the universe. (Basics of philosophy). If we follow the beliefs that are laid out in Deism, we are under the belief that God watches over us but allows us to lead our own existence. Being in our own existence having established that we do believe in god we need to look into other smaller pictures that make up the big picture. He is full of trepidation and panic like he is sinking into the depths of his worst fears as he rapidly thinks of horrendous thoughts. All of a sudden the pop quiz that is tomorrow causes him to stay up even longer. The clock on his bedside table flickers 1:00 am by the time he is asleep, he needs to wake up at 6:00 am tomorrow for school too. A teen needs 8 hours of sleep, but this middle schooler only got 5 hours of sleep. The next morning in first hour the kid had humongous bags under his eyes. He cannot stay focused in class and has been taking microsleeps which are small episodes of sleep while you are awake. Lastly, his friends described him as irritated. According to the National Institute of Health, these are all symptoms of sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation means the situation or condition of suffering from a lack of sleep. When you are sleep deprived, it is like being a zombie from the Walking Dead, as shown in he Anecdote above. I call this the zombie effect. Depending on the person and the mental illness some areas of concern is, ADL s, IADL s, work, leisure, social participations and sleep. The mental illness population will struggle with social participation, withdrawing from their family, friends and their peers. They will experience difficulty functioning at school or work, leading to them dropping out of school or losing their job, possibly due to problems with memory and thinking. I think for some, if not most of the population they start feeling disconnected from reality. I think other areas of concern are sleep, eating, and hygiene habits, for example, they may struggle with gathering necessary supplies for bathing and washing their hair. One of the things I witnessed at ETBH is the amount of clients admitted with drug or alcohol abuse, which can lead to a continuous pattern because it makes them feel better and the symptoms dissipate for a short time. Which can also lead to mood changes and thoughts of suicide. The mental illness population can struggle in any one of these occupations or multiple areas, maybe due to a lack of motivation or lack of structure in their everyday lives. People with mental illness struggle with how they may think, feel, mood swings, and their behavior. It affects their ability to relate to others and function in daily occupations. Keep in mind it is not the intent of the invasive species to be invasive or they start off being invasive then the ecosystem will find a unique way of bringing everything under control on its own. The ecosystem in town possesses many mechanisms that it needs to keep the whole system equally balanced. The dynamics to help persons in this city strive and restore include predation; the need to prey on other animals is how a species survive, but it should be under control. Conditions and temperature play a large role as well. It is the responsibility of the humans to control the conditions that come into the town by understanding the animals and fish that come into the environment and lake. The environment needs the help and support of the community to be successful. When everyone is working together and not against each other things tend to come together easier because everyone is working towards the same goal and objective. It is turning ideas and knowledge into products and services . (Tidd, 2005) In recent years, firms have paid closer attention to innovation, and many have heavily invested in the field. In this paper, we will explore the evolving dichotomy of incremental and radical innovations for their integral role in firm competitiveness. We will examine the prevailing theories and models such as the Schumpeter theory, Abernathy Utterback model, Teese s models, and Henderson Clark Model; to analyze incumbent firms positions in market fluctuations, and how to surmount these issues from an epistemological standpoint. Prior to jumping to the competitiveness aspect of the question, one must understand the impacts innovation can have on firms. Furthermore no person can better describe such a relationship but the godfather of innovation Joseph Schumpeter, who believed that innovation can be seen as creative destruction waves that rebuild the entire business sector from the constant need to create something new; which results in the dismantle of the old. Schumpeter also argued that once an entrepreneur/ innovator comes up with a successful idea, he/ she will make some capital out of it, which he refers to as monopoly profit. However soon other entrepreneurs will begin to catch up and imitate the idea, until an equilibrium is reached; which creates a cycle of new

Yona lay a little further on, his fists still clenched, his body riddled with bullets; beside him lay the bread knife, red with blood. It was Yona s true life purpose to act as his father does not that drove Yona, when the text states, A large knife law on the shelf in front of him, and then he knew. He seized the knife. As Yona was compelled to embrace violence in order to oppose his father, Yona knew that it was the knife he was searching for. While Yona s true life purpose, opposing his father, caused Yona to seize the knife, Yona could only carry out his attack with the knife due to his belief that his life carried no meaning, shown through the text s description of Yona; his body riddled with bullets. Young men, ages of high school students believe you are a spy from a rival, threatening to kill you. You know you can t do anything at this point to convince them you are not a rival nor part of any gangbut a student surveying poor African Americans from the University of Chicago. Their leader, J.T. after spending the night with them, releases you, just to get an invitation to learn about the poor community they live in and experience their everyday lives. To be honest, I have never experienced something like Sudhir Venkatesh, author of Gang Leader for a day has. He was a sociologygrad student when he wrote this book, interacting with gangs and their struggles. You can say that Venkatesh went from being a sociologist to a sociologist gone wrong by following around Black Kings for about seven or so years within the Robert Taylor Home community, jotting down notes and meeting up with citizens of the community. You can debate whether or not, Venkatesh was being ethical and not. Venatesh formed relationships with his study, which was unethical by his lack of consent, which in return, disrespected the community. He misunderstood their rights, writing down notes whenever he could behind their back or even remembering everything before he got home, making sure no one would see him doing such things. Academic writings like For Whom, written by Michelle Fine, specified the

The Belles Heures of Jean de France is a prayer book also called a book of hours, which was made for Jean de France, the Duke of Berry by Herman, Paul and Jean de Limbourg, more commonly known as The Limbourg Brothers. The Limbourg Brothers were actively making artwork in France during the early 1400s. Though they were all still teenagers they were very skilled as artists, and so they were hired to create a personal Bible for Jean de France by his brother Philip the Bold, Duke of Burgundy. The book was to be used as a private devotional to the Virgin Mary; in fact Belles Heures actually translates to beautiful hours. This title is not only used because the book is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, but also because the Belles Heures is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The precise folio I copied from the Belles Heures of Jean de France, Duke of Berry comes from the Hours of the Passion. The folio, numbered 142r, is entitled Christ Offered the Sop . This folio is one of three folios in total that depict in Crucifixion of Christ in the Belles Heures. The scene portrayed is taken from an account in the Gospels in which Christ on the cross calls out that He is thirsty. The soldiers standing by soak a sponge in vinegar that they stick onto a spear or a reed and offer to Him. Flanking either side of the cross are the Virgin Mary and the young apostle John the Beloved (Saint John) who are weeping as Christ suffers. As I looked at other illuminations from this book of hours, I noticed that the foreground of each usually appeared to be very small and limited in space while I found that many of the background spaces were filled with some type of pattern. This folio is a perfect representation of this style that the Limbourg Brothers implemented in their manuscript work which I kept in mind to include as I did my own recreation of the folio. The materials that the Limbourg Brothers used in creating this folio were ink, tempera, and gold leaf on vellum. I substituted a few of these materials in the making of my own. Instead of vellum, I used calligraphic parchment paper, which I found had a color similar to the

  • 51. The Characteristics Of Frederick DouglassGifts And Heros Leaders at my church often say, god wants his people to use their unique gifts and talents to serve others. Heroes are a great example of people who use their gifts to serve others; however, their gifts are not always superpowers. In spite of the stereotypes, many heroes are average people with a dream of something better for themselves and others. For instance Frederick Douglass was a slave, yet he still became a hero. Despite the many trials he escaped and used his gifts of speech and writing to inspire hope in millions. Frederick Douglass spoke about the horrendous experience of being a slave because many people back then did not truly understand. Through these speeches he created a book and years later when the civil war broke out he convinced the U.S Army to allow African Americans to join to earn freedom. Although, Frederick was not done yet, after they gained freedom he protested that it is pointless for African Americans to be free but not have the same rights as White Americans. These protest led to the abolishment of slavery. Frederick Douglass is clearly a hero, but what characteristics do all heroes need? Simple, a hero must be brave and determined to make a change and they can not be arrogant in anyway. Furthermore, in the real world all heroes use bravery as a way to repel fear and their bravery helps others show bravery. For example, Deamonte Love had to show a great amount of bravery when he and a few other children got separated from their parents.

This play shows a distinct demarcation between purity and corruption. Shakespeare s character Gertrude is that line. Shakespeare s main goal of Gertrude is to show that two extreme opposites cannot work in one person. The stark difference between Gertrude and her son Hamletis their grieving period. Hamlet is obviously disgusted at how quickly his mother ceases her grieving of her husband. This is the first example of the life Gertrude lives. She, arguably, should be grieving extremely, but instead she has moved on. Gertrude encourages Hamlet, Do not forever with thy vailed lids / seek for thy noble father in the dust. / Thou know st tis common; all that lives must die, passing through nature to eternity (1.2.70 73). Her actions speak of a normal death on his behalf. It is natural to live and die. Hamlet is one the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In between the duel, the plot to kill Hamlet goes awry when Gertrude drinks the poison. Gertrude s last breath is used to say, No, no, the drink, the drink! O, my dear Hamlet! / The drink, the drink! I am poisoned (5.2.289, 290). It is easy to write this off as her stating the obvious, but in actuality it is interpreted to mean that Gertrude finally sees herself. She seees the corruption of Claudius and their marriage, her husband s death, and her actions. In Franco Zeffirelli s adaption, Gertrude says, The king, the king has poisoned me. I am poisoned, (Hamlet, 1990). More than just seeing her own corruption, she sees Claudius too. Gertrude dies and then a chain reaction of death dies, but before Hamlet dies also he tells Horatio, Wretched queen adieu, (5.2.312). Once again, Shakespeare speaks on the corrupt nature of a beautiful woman s exterior. Gertrude s death finally sharpens the line of her paradoxical

  • 54. The Silent Discount Dilemm Ppos The Silent Discount Dilemma: PPOS In the world of health care finance, managers are faced with many ethical decisions. This is often the case when it comes to the medical billing side of healthcare. There are currently several billing schemes in practice that are under scrutiny by the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the American Medical Association (AMA). One such scheme is the practice of taking discounts on medical claims that your company is not entitled to. This practice is referred to as a silent PPO. To understand this practice better, it is important to understand what a PPO is and how it works. The acronym PPO stands for Preferred Provider Organization. Instead, customers are encouraged to use providers within the network through offering them reduced rates for service. When a customer uses a provider that participates with the program, they pay less in the form of out of pocket copayments. These discounts are available because the health care providers within the network have contracts with the PPO stating the agreed upon discounted rates the providers will be paid when they provide services for members of that particular PPO (Gapenski, 2013). A silent PPO is what you have when a legitimate PPO sells its provider network information to other groups or to brokers (Jones, C., Mills, T., 20060. The hospitals and physician groups who have contracted with that PPO to provide discounted rates usually do not know anything about this outside arrangement. This practice allows payors to receive discounts that they are not legally entitled to (Jones, C., Mills, T., 2006). Any time a payor receives the under the counter discounts on medical claims that the provider is not legally obligated to give, it is referred to as a silent PPO (Speisman, A., Hachenburg, M., 2006). It is perfectly legal for PPOs to make the information regarding who their preferred providers are, as well as the discounts that the PPO has contracted with these providers, available. According to current law, it is also legal for the PPO to charge a fee for this information. Brokers can buy this information, and sell it to payors. The
