EVALUATION
Measurement: The quantification of attributes of an object,giving
numbers to anything.
Assessment : The process of providing feedback on performance
for improvement, ongoing process.
Evaluation :
Dictionary Meaning : Process of judging or calculating the importance or worth.
In Education : To judge student learning on the basis of set standards, determine the
Extent to which objectives are achieved.
It is product oriented.
NEED OF EVALUATION
To know how much educational objectives are

Help teachers in assessing their teaching skills

DIAGNOSTIC AND REMEDIAL TEACHING
Diagnostic teaching
To understand where student’s are facing problem in learning
To gain an insight into student’s difficulty
A test is conducted after finishing a unit to assess the learner’s
achievements and weaknesses.
Remedial teaching
After diagnosing student’s problems, they are teached again the topics
where they are facing difficulty.
Again a test is taken to confirm that students has learned the topic
well.
CONTINOUS AND COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION
(CCE)
It consists of two terms: continuous, comprehensive
Continuous: it keeps on going .
Comprehensive: it covers all aspects of student’s development

PERFORMANCE BASED ASSESSMENT
- It measures student’s ability to apply the skills and knowledge learned from a unit or study.
- It provides the teacher with information about how students understand and applies
knowledge as students apply their knowledge and skills in context.
- It accepts the fact that every student is different and has different abilities which shows in
their performances.
- It mainly involves the problem solving process.
- Performance based assessmentscan be done through projects work each and every student
use their skills and knowledge to perform a task.
ASSESSMENT FRAMEWORK AQ
- What will be the Objectives of assessment?
- What will be the Learning indicators?
- What will be the Methods and tools of assessment?
- What will be the learning proofs?
