The document discusses the various media technologies used at different stages of a project. Photoshop was used to edit and enhance images, with YouTube tutorials helping to learn Photoshop skills. Premier Pro was used to edit video, applying techniques like multi-cut edits learned from previous experience and YouTube. A camera, tripod, light box, Photoshop, YouTube and Premier Pro were the equipment and tools used. Filming with one camera and tripod required repeating shots from different angles, while lighting experiments used a light box though it was difficult to position.
How media technologies were used in project planning
1. How did you use media
technologies in the construction
and research, planning and
evaluation stages?
2. WHAT I USED FOR MY PROJECT
Equipment List:
Tripod
Camera
Light box
Premier Pro
Blogger
YouTube
Photoshop
3. Using Photoshop:
Photoshop allowed me to edit my images and enhance them to benefit my
products, using YouTube I was able to teach myself the basics of what to do
to enable my photos to have a better overall image quality and not to be
blurry. however a disadvantage of Photoshop is that I was unable to do
exactly what I wanted to do due to my lack of ability on this software.
however overall I do believe that this was the best software to use as it was
easy to pick up and to use on a first time basis
4. Using Premier Pro:
Regarding my actual video I used adobe premier pro which I have previously used in
my AS production. this has then enabled me to pick up skills which I learned a year
before and apply them to this years work. in addition I also researched different
techniques on YouTube once again to develop my understanding of premier pro. one
way this is clearly shown in my music video is through the multi cut edit, I used this
technique in different situations in my music video applying different effects to them.
This was easy to do as you can copy and paste the clip needed and then move the
image to a different position on screen to make it visible, then blur the edges in to
make them both look seamlessly integrated. another positive of premier pro is just like
Photoshop it is an adobe software, meaning I could transport images to and from each
software making images easier to enhance. the most difficult part of this process was
synching the music up with the lyrics as it would be correct at one point but every time
an edit was made or something would cut I would have to reset the song and make
sure it was accurate throughout the song.
6. Using the filming equipment:
Using the film equipment this year was the same process as last year, I was given one
camera and tripod to film with. This was a limitation with filming as it meant I had to
repeat the same shot multiple times at different angles just to achieve the perfect shot.
Whilst this was not a problem it turned tedious very quickly and consumed more time
than I expected it to. The addition of another camera and tripod would have effectively
sped up the process as it would have enabled me to perform in front of multiple
cameras at different angles within my production, thus enabling me to film more shots
at different heights and angles at faster rates. However this year I also experimented
with lighting more than last year, which was effective as it enabled me to create
shadows if I so wished or to create different lighting effects with the filters on the light
box. the limitation with this however was that the light box itself was difficult to prop
up and so it made the process again more time consuming constantly having to move
the box around.
