Pavandeep Dhillon used various media technologies throughout their A2 media project. For planning and showing progress, they used the blogging site Blogger. Blogger allowed them to easily add and organize numerous blog posts. They also used voice recordings and apps like SoundCloud to plan ideas and get feedback. For filming their horror film, they used a camcorder and tripod for high quality footage, and Final Cut Pro to edit scenes and add effects. They uploaded the finished film to YouTube for easy access. Photoshop was used to design the film poster and review, taking screenshots from the film. Various presentation software like Canva, Slideshare, and Prezzi were used to creatively display texts and images

2.  Throughout my entire A2 media project the key media technology
I used was the online blog site called Blogger.
 Blogger was used consistently throughout my work in order to
show my progress from the beginning and end of my productions:
horror film, poster and review. I have come across blogger
previously as it was the same site used during my AS media
project, however overtime I gained further knowledge which
allowed me to adjust my setting for example where I was able to
show countless numbers off posts without have to scroll down
and click on ‘older posts or newer posts’ to reveal further posts, I
found this simple yet effective change made a huge difference
when it came to checking through my work and adding
improvement as it made it much easier to navigate through and
find posts.
 Blogger was a good platform for anyone access and to comment
under my work i.e. my teachers would give feedback in order for
me to make improvements products created.

3.  Planning: for the initial stages of planning I used the voice recorder of
our plot ideas and group discussion to record our progress and general
ideas on which I uploaded onto soundcloud so that the audio could be
uploaded onto blogger. Also when it can to improvements of my ancillary
text I used this app again to upload my audio on the changes I had made
to products whilst looking at them on my laptop screen, I felt this was
effective as it allowed me to express and justify my decisions well along
with being creative rather than posting block text onto my blog.
 For all planning stages of my all 3 products I used a mix of softwares as
seen below, as they allowed me to use different layouts, colour themes
and designs i.e. Mind maps, presentations and visual moving images to
help present my ideas cleary.
 Research: again as stated I used all the softwares below expect bubb.us,
as it was not a platform to present images and detailed text on and I
required presentation style formats to display my screenshots of existing
products from which I could analyse.

4.  Film: for the filming process we used a Toshiba cam recorder along with a
tripod, as it allowed us to gain more accuracy avoiding shakiness of camera
working enabling us to make a high quality and professional looking film. The
key element for the production for the film was our recording device
combined with final cut pro which was the software used to edit scenes and
add transitions along with inserting sounds.
 As a group we opted to use final cut pro as we found it easy to navigate, from
the initial software in our first draft however had to transfer to this as their
was an exporting issue. This was very efficient and had fast downloading
rates.
 An additional software used during the process of coming up with a plot was –
storyboardthat this programme was very well animated with locations, props
and characters which helped us envision our plot in a more detailed scenario.
 For extra lighting in dim settings a simple yet effective technology used -
Iphone 6’s they helped create eery shadows whilst filming and improvised the
effects of flickering light in the film.
 The final platform used for the film Resentment was Youtube, on which we
uploaded our film to be easily accessible and viewed by our audience. We
decided to upload the film on Youtube as it downloaded in high resolution at a
fast speed of around 5-10 minutes and also it was a free site financially
friendly for students to use.

5.  Poster: The only software used for the creation of my film poster was
Photoshop editor, I opted to use this due to having experience in
navigating the programme well from AS media studies, and also the wide
range of features it offered over any other editing software like
Fireworks. Photoshop offered amazing tools such as ‘special wand tool,
‘magic crop tool’ and blur/contrast and adjustment tools, these were the
main tool I used for my poster for its key element – the main image which
I edited trying to produce a image with effects similar to conventions
 Review: this product was also entirely produced on Photoshop, via the
tools listed above. However the only difference was my layout which I
had changed to a landscape format by changing the scales in the top left
corner.
 Images: the images used on both ancillary texts were taken as
screenshots from the film so that I could get the relevant scenes in the
film, which was just not possible to be taken on a camera whilst filming,
through the use of Photoshop it enabled me to edit the images ensuring
they were of high quality and allowed me to eliminate any pixel images.

6. I downloaded textanim 2.0 on my laptop, so that
I could create text gifs to add to my blog as titles
for the questions rather than simple texts, as the
media brief stated to make the evaluations as
creative as possible. This programme allowed me
to choose over 4,000 background images and 100
font styles, in which I used the same to show
consistency.

For the evaluations I used all presentation based software's,
as they were good platforms to display texts and images on
in a formal and neat layout.
The range of software's helped show my creativity via
different formats and transitions to chose from, which
displayed my knowledge on how to navigate the
programmes. In addition Prezzi and Emaze allowed me to
embed YouTube clips into my evaluations allowing me to be
creative and also helped me provide evidence of what I was
stating in my answers.
