1. Question 4: How did you use
new media technologies in the research,
planning, construction and evaluation
stages?
2.
3. I have had experience in the past using Fireworks to create artwork for a
website. Although this task is different, it uses the same sort of styles and
tools to create the artwork for the digipak and magazine advert. I chose to
work in Fireworks for a few different reasons. Firstly, experience. I knew a
lot about how to work with the software, and how it produces its final
product. I also chose to use this as other software is VERY costly, and I
already owned this software at home, and on the College computers. This
meant I could work both at college and at home on my products.
It allowed very easy to use tools to make the product with, and easy image
manipulation; not to the extent of Photoshop, but much more detailed than
the likes of Paint.
4. Final cut pro is something that the Macs support. I have had experience
before with this software, and have also used it before for my Prelim task.
I feel that it is easy to use, and has a lot more features than other software
of similar nature, such as movie maker. It had all of the options that I
needed, such as colour correction, fades and stabilisation.
I did use this product when I created my Prelim task. However, at the time
I had not been using it very much. Now though I know much more about it,
and because of that, I knew how to edit the footage I collected more. This
allowed me to create a more detailed and visually interesting product
section.
5. The camera that I used for the creation of the music video, and the shots
used for the production of my digipak and magazine advert was not the
one I was going to use. I was planned well ahead and got everything ready
for the day of filming. When me and the actor got to the location, the
camera would not turn off. It was frozen on a image. That meant that the
camera which would have been slightly higher quality could not be used.
Thankfully, the actor did not live far away, and had a high quality camera
to. We used this to film. I certainly have more experience now than I did
before I took media studies.
6. Emaze was a very useful tool that allowed me to present some information
in a way that would be more eye catching and less solid text. It was very
easy to use, and allowed some more variation in the Blog. Emaze is free,
and it has some very colourful up-beat designs to it which appealed to me.
This along with Prezi was a tool which I used frequently as it could hold a
lot of information but could spread it out more. They both are very good
tools to use. From my AS Blog, I found that using these along side more
presentation tools is a great way to make the Blogger more interesting.
