2. What hardware have I
used?
When making my product I have used a range of different hardware. I have used things such as; video
camera, tripod, torches and Apple macs.
The reason why I used this equipment was so that I could produce my product to a good standard. Benefits that this
could have had on my product are that it could have made it to a more professional standard than if I was to use a
mobile phone to film my footage on, also another benefit that it could have had on my product is that by using a
tripod it will make my footage steadier than if I was to film by hand. As well as this the macs will enable me to use
a vary of programs to edit my work with.
My work reflected these benefits through the good image quality by using a video camera and not my mobile
phone, this was better image quality as they film in HD. It was also slightly steadier than it would have been if I had
used what I had filmed first, as the second time I had filmed my footage I used the tripod more. Also when I used
the macs to edit my work I was able to use final cut which means it was smoother than it would have been if I used
a different program.
3. What software have I
used?
When making my product I have used a range of different software. I have used things such as; final cut express,
Photoshop, Aftereffects, Prezi, Exam time, garage band and Pearl & Dean.
This software could have a range of benefits on my work, this could include; helping my editing become smoother
than it would be on other programs such as windows movie maker, helping me to create titles with more appropriate
fonts and colours, being able to make an animated logo for the beginning of my opening, different formats for me
to write written work up on that help to make them more visual, gives me a vary of sounds to help my soundtrack go
with my footage and sites to help me with my research during the start of the process.
This range of software has had most of these benefits on my work. However, things such as garage band and
Aftereffects were slightly hard to use at first. Meaning that it also had a negative effect on my work as it took time
to figure out how to use these things. The sites had a positive effect on my written work as they have made them
more appealing to look at and less wordy. Final cut and Photoshop have helped to make my product to a more
professional standard as they made the editing of my footage smoother and the titles be able to appear on top of the
footage as well as move with it.
