commitment? Well what about the competitiveness? We are all used to spending
hours and hours on end practicing and preparing for something whether that be a
game, a tournament, or a competition... We have all been there before. I started
dancing fourteen years ago, when I was just three years old. Growing up, some of
my friends always asked me why I wanted to be apart of something that wasn t

For the assignment of comparative analysis of a farmer s market and a grocery store
in a low income community, it was a no brainer where I would go. I didn t need to
go online and find a list of farmer s markets in LA and narrow it down by the low
income zip code, not when I lived in one. As a resident of a low income
neighborhood, I knew exactly where to go: I would go to the Watt s Healthy Farmer
s Market. Held every Saturday, whether it rains or shines, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the
Watt s Healthy Farmer Market is located in the Ted Watkins Memorial Park,
appropriately named after Ted Watkins, the founder of the Watts Labor Community
Action Committee (WLCAC). WLCAC is an influencing non profit community
based organization which serves to provide affordable housing, jobs, and social
services to the residents of Watts and South Los Angeles, as well as fight poverty and
ultimately, increasing the quality of life of the neighborhood. It was organized
following the 1965 Watts riotswith the support of several labor unions and funded
by grants from the government at varies levels. The park was named in 1995 and
is a 28 acre facility taking up one whole block with the farmer s market taking place
in the southwest corner, conveniently located just a few steps away from one of the
park s parking lots.

Finally in the first stanza Donne uses an emphatic rhyming couplet to state that

seems adamant in persuading himself he is truly in love and rebels against the sun

Gender discrimination in the sports industry has always been a controversial topic.
Gender equality in sports has come a long way. Like when UNESCO recognized
sports and physical activity as a human right in 1978. Discrimination is defined as
unjust treatment of different categories of people or things. Discriminationtowards
people has been around for a long time and it s affecting the entire world and has
taken large steps towards being demolished. These large steps have been taken to
make the world a better place and a lot of these discriminations have gotten smaller
over time, but many of these are still seen in everyday life, unfortunately.
Discrimination against females has been a constant battle due to the world being
extremely male dominant. Women have had to fight against discrimination for
many things, such as freedom of speech, the right to vote, and equal rights to work.
Women were expected to be stay at home parents, taking care of the cleaning and
housekeeping, and raising the kids, and were not allowed to be on the workforce,
do things they enjoy, or even get a little freedom. Female discrimination in sports is
a common issue all around the world, women are seen as not as good as males,
equality in sports is unequal, and the amount of pay and media coverage is different
for each sport and gender. We believe in making sure that women have the equal
opportunity to enjoy the benefits of sports by tackling sexism in sports at all levels.
