Essays On Shakespeare
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essays on Shakespeare" can be both challenging and
rewarding. On one hand, William Shakespeare is a literary giant whose works have left an
indelible mark on the world of literature. On the other hand, the vastness and depth of his plays,
sonnets, and poems present a daunting task for anyone attempting to encapsulate his brilliance in
a single essay.
To start with, delving into the extensive body of Shakespeare's work requires a comprehensive
understanding of his plays and the historical context in which they were written. Each play
carries its own set of themes, characters, and intricate plots that demand careful analysis and
interpretation. Unraveling the layers of meaning within Shakespeare's language, filled with
poetic nuances and Elizabethan expressions, adds an additional layer of complexity to the
writing process.
Moreover, crafting an essay on Shakespeare involves not just summarizing the plots but also
delving into the profound themes and motifs that characterize his work. Analyzing the
characters' motivations, the cultural and social implications, and the philosophical underpinnings
of the plays requires a keen literary insight.
Furthermore, addressing the vast body of criticism and scholarly debates surrounding
Shakespeare's works adds an academic dimension to the essay. Engaging with various critical
perspectives and synthesizing them into a coherent and original argument can be intellectually
challenging.
Despite the difficulties, writing an essay on Shakespeare provides a unique opportunity for
personal growth and academic exploration. It allows the writer to appreciate the beauty of
Shakespeare's language, explore timeless themes, and contribute to the ongoing conversation
about his significance in the literary canon.
In conclusion, tackling the task of writing an essay on Shakespeare demands not only a profound
understanding of his works but also the ability to navigate the intricate web of literary criticism.
It is a journey that requires dedication, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for the art of writing.

Sputnik Launch A Space Race
From the origins of rocketry, the only major contenders in space exploration were
governmental agencies, while the commercial use of the Universe was limited to
communication satellites. However, everything is changing. Modern developments
like reusable rockets and nano satellites drastically lower the cost of accessing space,
starting the new Space Race. This Race, unlike the previous one, is accessible for all
of us and I m going to share it in my Paideia class.
If we were to launch a space mission, the first step would be, well, building a
spacecraft. Since Sputnik launch in 1957 until recently, the satellite industry was
limited to governmental labs, military and telecommunication companies. Costing
from hundreds of millions up to billions
Essay Reading a TV Commercial
Reading a TV Commercial The first bit in the advert shows a predominantly red
background with dancers silhouetted in the bottom left hand corner. I think that the
silhouette is in the corner because that isn t what we are supposed to see. Even
though this image shows enjoyment and excitement as the feeling you get from
coca cola, this isn t what they are selling. In the bottom left hand corner as well
there is a small logo saying, dance . The writing in this caption is in much the same
style as the coca cola logo so this and the red could both be the first signs of coca
cola. The second clip is of a hand on a keyboard. As in the last clip, the caption,
dance is still in the corner. In this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The man is the central figure, even though his face is blurred, because he
represents the action and energy made by the feeling you get from a coca cola. In
the background is a drinks vending machine with the coca cola logo on the side.
This is to remind you that he gets the feeling from coca cola and also plays a part
in the anchorage of the whole advert. The fourth extract is of three coke bottles
dancing. This implies that the coca cola has so much energy in it, the bottles even
move themselves. This is an insight into the effect it has on us. This is also when
the caption dance disappears. This could be because the writing on the coke
bottles is similar to the writing in the caption and so this shows the connection
between action and movement (dance) and coca cola. The cola bottle also moves
to the beat of the backing track. The fifth part is of a night gowned dancer in an
attic bedroom. The main colour in this one is yellow which, to me, represents
warmth, sunshine and summer. This could be to show that coca cola is best drunk
when it is summer and it is really hot weather. Also with the clip being in a
bedroom it shows that coca cola can wake you up even if you are sleepy at the end
of the day and it puts you on a high. The aspect of being on a high is also shown
because it is shot in an attic, which is obviously very high up in a house. This sixth

Description Of A Business Entity That Ms. Growne
BACKGROUND: Sue Growne, client G14159, is looking to purchase a tavern,
which would include both realty and personality. So ReaLand CPA s could better
serve this client, I, Bobbi Paternico was tasked with researching the legal and tax
options available to the client, based upon the entity utilized for the purchase and the
method of purchase. ANALYSIS: The type of business entity that Ms. Growne
selects can have both legal and tax implications. Having said this, there are some tax
and legal considerations to examine regardless of the type of purchasing entity.
Specifically, one of the first decisions that Ms. Growne should make, is whether she
wants to acquire the assets of the tavern or the stock/interests in the business... Show

The statement of reserves should be reviewed, since the acquisition of the tavern,
through the purchase of the seller s interest, results in the buyer, Ms. Growne
accepting both known and unknown liabilities of the business prior to her
ownership. In addition, by reviewing the financial statements to look at the net
operating gain or loss, Ms. Growne can determine if there is a loss she can offset
against her other sources of income. For some individuals, the idea of being able to
offset other income with these losses incurred prior to ownership is appealing, due
to the tax benefit that may result. However, if the buyer does not have significate
income to be offset or is not in a higher tax brackets, this benefit of the acquisition
through interest becomes less attractive. In addition, if the sellers basis in the assets
are significantly less than the assets fair market value, the buyer is likely to incur
greater gains on the assets in the future, resulting in a higher taxable income and
leading to negative tax implication. In contrast, if the assets of the business were
purchased, the buyer would not be susceptible to prior liabilities and the seller must
examine their basis for each asset, compare it with the assets current market value,
and incur any applicable gains or losses, intern shifting the tax consequences of an

The Quebec Separatist Movement Of Canada
At some point, countries will fight for freedom at their breaking point. For example,
during the mid 1900s, Canada did their own movement called the Quebec Separatist
Movement. The movement was about Quebec s independence from government. The
movement involved the citizens of Quebec and a group called Front de Liberation du
Quebec(FLQ). The Front de Liberation du Quebec had kidnapped people in Canada.
The Quebec Separatist Movement began due to Quebec s citizens ambition to
become independent and was finally resolved by making a new constitution.
The historical context of the Quebec Separatist movement included The Quiet
Revolution. The Quiet Revolution was when small groups try to make Quebec
independent especially FLQ. The small groups members were Francophones,
French speaking citizens. Their ideals was to make Quebec independent from
CanadaЕ› government. First, Canada made a bill stating that it will create a better
future for Canada. The Official Language Bill is a reflection of the nature of this
country as a whole and of a conscious choice we are making about our future.
(World History: The Modern Era) Canada thought it was necessary to have one
language, and it will make them feel united. After this bill was established, Canada s
government regretted and believed that there should be two official language. Yet
the citizens of Canada were still deciding if they wanted that law to pass. We believe
in two official languages and in a pluralist society, not

Nora A Hero
A hero is defined as a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding
achievements, or noble qualities. A Doll s House , authored by Henrik Ibsen,
contains a protagonist that fits this definition. The protagonist, Nora Helmer,
represents courage as the character rightfully decides to relieve herself from the
traditional social commitments and obligations, thus becoming an independent
individual. In addition, Nora displays selflessness through removing herself from the
family as it is realized the young woman is an inadequate mother. Moreover, Ibsen
sets Nora in a worldof predetermined social constraints that lead the young woman to
become deprived of freedom and genuine happiness. Subjugation and oppression act

As Nora comes to realize that her marriage to Torvald has been loveless and the
young woman has only been fulfilling the traditional role of a dull housewife, Nora
becomes overwhelmed as the woman accepts the lack of knowledge in being a
genuine wife and mother, The way I am now, I m no wife for you (1774).
Moreover, Nora decides to leave her children with Torvald as the woman laments
not knowing how to take care of the three children, I won t look in on the children.
I know they re in better hands than mine (1774). While the act of abandoning one s
own family may come across as selfish, this is quite the opposite in Nora Helmer s
instance. Norma accepts she is an inadequate mother and would be unable to care
for the children without any aid from others, The way I am now, I m no use to them
(1774). This inadequacy is further brought to light by Torvald as he exclaims that
Nora is not to be trusted with the job of bringing up the couple s children.
Additionally, Nora proves the selflessness of her character as the woman explains she
must seek an education before trying to educate her own children, I m not up to the
job. There s another job I have to do first. I have to try to educate myself (1772). In
order to become the adequate mother that her children need to be appropriately raised,
Nora must seek enlightenment without the influence of Torvald, You can t
Emotions And The Human Race
There are many answers to why emotions are important. Emotions serve several
purposes. Emotions play a vital role in how we think and behave. Emotions influence
our actions, our outlook, and our personal characteristics. Emotions help us grow and
survive. Emotions help us make decisions. Emotions help people understand one
another. The list goes on and on because emotions are key to the existence of the
human race. Without emotions the human race would be unable to function
physically or mentally.
According to the evolutionary approach to emotions, emotions are very important.
They are the key to animal and human survival. Evolution states that emotions are
passed on through genetic replication. It forms bases of behavior. Without... Show

Hardwired emotions are associated with the nervous system. It s detection of stimuli
and recognition of stimuli helps to decide what to do and then do it. Without this we
would not be able to respond to emotional encounters. For example, we need the
stimulus, to thalamus, to emotion and response to be able to react when we see a man
with a gun. Without this brain and body connection to emotions, you wouldn t be
able to respond to threatening situations, decreasing your chances of survival. The
biological approach to emotions is important because it connects the brain to the body
in order to help further the survival of a species through interpretation of a situation
and reacting to it.
The cognitive approach to emotions explains how people s emotions depend on
their appraisal of an occurrence. Appraisal of a situation can determine the
relevance of a situation. There are two types of appraisal, primary and secondary
appraisal. They can help determine whether a situation is beneficial to someone and
if so how they might benefit from the situation or if a situation is dangerous and if so
how to cope. Appraisals are quick. The cognitive part of this is the emotion that
occurs from the situation. For example, when you feel something, rather than just
reacting quickly, reflecting on what appraisal you made leads you to that feeling. If
you change the appraisal, you can change how you feel. The feeling attached to that
appraisal determines
French And Indian War Causes
The French and Indian War was also known as the Seven Years war. It started in
1756 and ended in 1763, the French and Indian war created a chapter in the
imperial struggle with France and Britain which was given the name of the Second
Hundred Years War. One of the main causes the Seven Years War was fought it was
because of territories that were being claimed to be its property by the French and the
British in the Ohio River Valley. The French and Indian War was fought during the
middle of the 18th century, British and French people wanted to expand the land
from their North American colonies to the Appalachian Mountains. French people
was convinced that they had more power and exclusive rights to the land of Native

Leon Festinger s Theory Of Cognitive Dissonance
Leon Festinger s theory of cognitive dissonance (1957) sets its meaning on the
theory that behavior does not support the attitude or vice versa. At many times
individuals see themselves experiencing this phenomenon, so in order to reduce
this dissonance, either the attitude or the behavior needs to be altered or changed.
A perfect example would have to be when a white person says that black and
whites are all the same yet he/she would not want to live in a neighborhood with the
majority of the population being blacks. This expresses the person s strong attitude
towards the topic, yet their behavior shows otherwise. This paper will focus in
deeply understanding what cognitive dissonance is and analyzing well known
studies that have conducted extensive research on it. Our attitude and behaviors are
what defines us in society and what supports our views. However when these two
contradict with each other, many different outcomes may to happen. That is why
consistency plays an eccentric role in our lives, which brings the question of what
happens when we are inconsistent with what we say and do? Researchers Lisa L.
Shu and Fransesca Gino conducted a study called Sweeping Dishonesty under the
Rug: How Unethical Actions Lead to Forgetting of Moral Rules, (2012) in which
they wanted to know whether one consequence could be the forgetting of moral rules.
These two searched to understand how our action or better yet our immoral actions,
leads us to forget what our parents
The Purpose Of Ideology
1.ideology Meaning and Philosophy
Ideology is a system of meaning that helps define and explain the world and that
makes value judgements about that world. It refers not only to the beliefs held
about the world but also to the basic ways in which the world is defined (Croteau,
Hoynes, and Milan 1953). Ideology is a body of ideas concerning economic, social
and political values and goals which posit action programmes for attaining these
goals. Padelford and Lincoln

Link between ideology and media
The ideology of the media is broad and manifests in the communicativity of the
media. To facilitate ideological analysis, however, the key is the fit between the
images and texts in a specific media output, plus the manner thought and discussion
on social and cultural issues. Questions, however, arise as to how the media content
(shaped by ideologies) depict real life. This begs the question of function and ethics.
The ideological analysis further attempts to answer questions about what the media
messages depict of the society and its people.
This underscores why politicians have long perceived mass media as a veritable
channel of disseminating an ideology so that the society can mirror itself against
what the media feeds it and thus be manipulated. This further begs the question of
whether the media is a contributor or otherwise to societal problems in the face of
political ideological dissemination.
Furthermore, the media and ideology are interconnected in the following ways
(Asemah, 2011):
i.The media serves as a channel for communication of ideologies ii. Media function
requires its representation of concepts of reality within and without the local
environment to the
The Image Of The Original Design By Evoking Less Distress
It is the shifting of emotion from one idea to another that resembles the original in
some qualities or aspects. This movement permits the symbolic representation of the
original design by evoking less distress. In other words, displacement is when a
person represses feelings of affection or fear or impulses that they feel towards
another person. They recognize that their feelings are either irrational or socially
unacceptable and therefore cannot be publicly demonstrated. The psyche in turn
prevents these emotions from being converted into inappropriate actions. However,
since the feelings continue to exist, they are instead displaced towards another person
or animal whom it is acceptable to express such sentiments against. For example, a...

Rationalization occurs as a result of a person attempting to explain or create an
excuse for an event or action in rational terms. In doing so, they are able to avoid
accepting the true cause or reason that has resulted in the persons present situation.
For example, a shoplifter that blames their action of theft on greedy capitalists who
care more about making money than making goods affordable. Rationalization is a
widely used defense mechanism, especially in attempts to excuse mistakes to avoid
condemnation by others and themselves. A common example of rationalization is
expressed in the adage, sour grapes . An example of rationalization that I have
witnessed is someone that I know who refuses to stop smoking because she is
going to inevitably die one day. She excuses her addiction by dismissing its harmful
effects and uses the unavailability of death as the rationalization to continue her
behavior. Dissociation Temporary and drastically modifying one s character or one s
sense of personal identity to avoid emotional distress. The use of dissociation as a
defense mechanism tends to involve temporary loss of a person s connection to the
world surrounding them. People experiencing disassociation often describe feeling
separated from the outside world, as though they exist in a different realm.
Dissociation often helps people to cope with very uncomfortable situations
Optic Nerve Construction
There are many structures in the eye, some of which include; the retina, rods and
cones, the macula, the central fovea, the cranial nerve, the optic chiasm and the
lateral geniculate nucleus. The retina is a layer at the back of the eye containing cells
that are sensitive to light, it triggers impulses through the optic nerve. Rods and cones
are specialized receptors which sense light and color. The macula is an area about
the diameter of a pencil head and is close to 100 times more sensitive to small visual
features than the rest of the retina. The central fovea is an area of the retina in the
center of the macula that has an extremely high resolution. The cranial nerve is
responsible for nerve impulses that travel along the optic nerve... Show more content

Bergman like the evolutionists, used other scientist s studies and claims to make his
argument sound. Bergman also included the counterargument, otherwise known as
the evolutionists view of the retina, which helps the reader see both sides of the story.
Bergman s argument is valid because even though the eye may be different from what
evolutionists think the ideal eye would look like, it still functions at the highest rate
possible and can not be redesigned to make it faster or more efficient then the

Research Paper On July Fireworks
One summer night during the 4th of the july fireworks were happening at 9 pm at
playland amusement park. It was me and my friends Noah, Max, Dylan, and Ryan.
We were about a mile and a half away from playland and I couldn t drive us there
because there was nowhere to park at playland because we were going so late. It
was getting dark fast and we had to decide how to get there and how all of us can t
fit into a four passenger uber taxi and we had 3 bikes. Dylan was injured with a
knee problem so he could not bike or run. Uber was getting more expensive by the
minute so Dylan ordered the uber and he and Ryan went to take the uber with him
and the rest of us rode bikes there. I had a road bike and I gave Max the bmx with
the tires with almost no tread and Noah had his professional mountain bike that he
uses for competition. Me and noah started pedaling full speed as soon as we made
the final decision as the uber pulls up to curb. Me and Noah left Max in the dust
and so we get about seven blocks towards playland and we decide to wait for him
and he shows up huffing and puffing after a minute of waiting. There was a giant
hill that was in front of us that probably was tall enough to pop your ears like when
you go on a plane. Me and noah looked at each other and started pedaling full speed
in first gear and he manages to pull ahead while we race to the top. As we get to the
top we went down the hill about 35 miles per hour on our bikes which was an
adrenaline rush for all of us

I Won t Grow Up: The Causes of Psychogenic Dwarfism
All children, except one, grow up. They soon know that they will grow up, and the
way Wendy knew was this. One day when she was two years old she was playing in
a garden, and she plucked another flower and ran with it to her mother. I suppose she
must have looked rather delightful, for Mrs. Darling put her hand to her heart and
cried, Oh, why can t you remain like this for ever! This was all that passed between
them on the subject, but henceforth Wendy knew that she must grow up. You always
know after you are two. Two is the beginning of the end. J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan (1)

The mother, extremely distressed about her loss, never recovers and subsequently
ignores her other, six year old son. Upon entering the room to see his mother, the
boy is met with David, is that you? Could it be you? and when she realizes that it is
her other son, exclaims Oh, it s only you. When the mother does speak to her son,
it is only to say that at least David died as a perfect boy who would always need his
mother. As a result of extreme neglect, (the father did not interact with the
children) and perhaps psychological abuse, this son stops growing and never
reaches puberty. As an adult he is 4 10 . The surprising end to this story is that this
man grew up to be the author of the beloved story Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie, who was
forever writing about boys who did not grow up (2).
Definition
Psychogenic dwarfism is a growth disorder that is observed between the ages of 2
and 15, caused by extreme emotional deprivation. The symptoms include decreased
growth hormone (GH) secretion, very short stature, weight that is inappropriate for
the height, and immature skeletal age. This disease is a progressive one, and as long
as the child is left in the stressing environment, his or her cognitive and linear abilities
continue to degenerate (3).
The Biology of Psychogenic Dwarfism
One of the major underlying commonalities among these children is the extremely
low level of growth hormone. In a normal person, these growth

Kate looked like a cherub asleep in her cot. Black curls fanned her pillow, and Kate

I know, said Eloise, stroking Kate s cheek with her finger. It s cold, but we ll get
that sorted. Eloise pulled a blanket off a chair, and lovingly covered her niece with

The next morning Eloise sat with her sister, while Jane fed the baby pureed carrots.
Kate resembled a jack o lantern, her face was caked in orange and she was smiling

Jane, did you put on one of the tapes last night? Eloise asked.
No, why?
I thought I heard music last night.
You must have been dreaming, smiled Jane. I wish I slept that well.
I must have been, I thought I heard a little girl singing.
Well, I generally prefer more adult dreams, but I guess any good dream will do. I

It didn t feel like a good dream, Eloise said.

No, but it sounded odd. Too pretty.
Well at least the kid wasn t crying, Jane said.
Yeah, Eloise said, biting her bottom lip.

Battle of Layac Junction
December 7, 1941, Japanese air and naval forces struck multiple areas within the
Pacific to include Kota Bharu in British Malaya, Singora in Thailand, Guam, Hong

marking the United States declaration of war against Japan, in which the United States

to the Empire of Japan in ensuring the control of the Southwest Pacific during World

nationalized the British run oil fields, denying Britain control of Iran s hugely
lucrative oil infrastructure. The operation included the use of techniques such as;
propaganda, bribery, engineered demonstrations using agents of influence, and false
flag operations. The CIA s agents harassed religious leaders and bombed one s home

This could have been avoided altogether if diplomacy worked and Iran received the
support it needed, but Britain was not willing to give up their colonial position.
British leaders would not concede anything but the remainder of the status quo,
and Iran wanted nothing but nationalization. A British attempt to calm down the
nationalist feelings in the Majlis, the Iranian congress, and their demand to revoke
the company s concession was the Supplemental Treaty of 1949. This did not go
over well with the Iranians because it did not ... offer Iranians any greater voice in
the company s management or give them the right to audit the company s books.
The citizenry did not fall for it and protested. A report completed by Richard
Funkhouser, the State Department s petroleum expert, concluded that Anglo
Iranian was ... genuinely hated in Iran. When Razmarah was prime minister in
1950 he asked that Iran have the right to inspect the books of the company; ... that
Iranian personnel in the company be increased; that oil sold in Iran be priced on
cost; ... and that Iran be informed of where its oil was being sold, but the British
would not concede. By the end of 1952, it had become clear that the Mossadegh
government in Iran was incapable of reaching an oil settlement. In 1952 Mossadegh
ended diplomatic relations with the British expelling all British agents. If
negotiations would have agreed to a Marshall Plan for Iran, or if the United States

Who Is Mike Byster, Creator of Brainetics? Who is Mike Byster? He is a 56 year
old, American, human calculator, mathematician, math educator and the creator
of Brainetics. Mike discovered his talent with math at an early age. After receiving
a proper education, he worked as a stockbroker until he quit the position. Then, he
decided to devote his life to improving children s math and memory skills through
his own unique methods. Today, he still passes on his skills to others in an attempt
to improve their learning abilities. His methods allow him to perform math
calculations in his head quicker than most other people. Years ago after research
sessions, experts did proclaim him one of the fastest mathematicians on Earth.
Early Years Mike grew up with his parents, Gloria and David Byster along with an
older sister in Skokie, Illinois. His parents knew that Mike had a special skill with
math at an early age and encouraged him to explore it. He discovered certain

The Theme of Escape in James Joyce’s Dubliners Essay
The Theme of Escape in James Joyce s Dubliners
In James Joyce s Dubliners, the theme of escape tends to be a trend when
characters are faced with critical decisions. Joyce s novel presents a bleak and
dark view of Ireland; his intentions by writing this novel are to illustrate people s
reasons to flee Ireland. In the stories Eveline, Counterparts , and the Dead ,
characters are faced with autonomous decisions that shape their lives. This forlorn
world casts a gloomy shadow over the characters of these stories. These stories are
connected by their similar portrayal of Ireland. They clearly represent Joyce s views
on people s discontent with Ireland.

He belittles his daughter and is unappreciative to her contributions to the family. This
is the main reasoning behind Eveline s desire to escape her life and Ireland. Eveline
states, The promise to her mother, her promise to keep the home together as long as
she could (32, 33). She unselfishly chooses her priorities and commitments over her
own happiness and future.
In the story Counterparts , the main character Farrington is irresponsibly leading
his life to disaster. Farrington is a careless employee who neglects his work and
disrespectful towards his supervisors. Mr. Alleyne began a tirade of abuse, saying
that two letters were missing (86,87). Farrington is creating unnecessary stress in
his life; his relationship with his family is not to promising. Joyce states, Now, you
ll let the fire out the next time! said the man, striking at him viciously with a stick
(94). He is abusive towards his son and desires relations with other women.
Farrington is constantly creating an unpleasing life for himself; he has made the
decision to be irresponsible in all aspects of his life and has now sealed his own fate.
Farrington feels that he can escape his life by drinking. He believes that he can solve
his problems in this matter. Throughout the story he concentrates most of his mind
and efforts on becoming inebriated. Joyce states, The man recognized that sensation

According to some researchers all the definitions of the concept can be grouped into
three views (Peng and

form of multinational corporation strategy that treats all the countries as a global
marketplace. The second view states that global strategy is related to international
strategic management and the third perspective incorporates both international and
domestic corporate strategy. Starting from the relationship between pressure to cut
costs and pressure to adapt to local conditions (Figure 1), four strategic approaches
for global level business have been identified: multi domestic, global, international

Chaucer s Canterbury Tales And The Wife Of Bath s Tale
Didactic literature is a work of writing that has been around for many centuries. It
can come in all types of forms novels, plays, poems, etc. The main similarity that all
didactic literature have in common is their message. They all aim to impact their
audience with a message or moral that usually involves religion, philosophy,
history, or even politics. In a way, didactic literature always tries to improve a part
of society in a moral basis. The reason it targets a part of society is because didactic
literature has an audience of origin that the moral applies to. For example, Chaucer s
Canterbury Tales: The Wifeof Bath s Prologue and The Wife of Bath s Tale , which
is written by Geoffrey Chaucer, takes place during the late... Show more content on

Within these three relationships, the power in the relationship was given to the woman
. However, the 5th husband that she married differed from the first three. He wanted
to have the power in the relationship and this resulted in a clash. Ultimately, the
husband yelled at her, beat her, and left her deaf on one ear. This shows that if both
the woman and man want control in the relationship, there will always be a problem.
These marriages teach the reader that a marriage needs to have both powers in
balance and cooperate together in order to succeed. Moving on to Chaucer s
second tale, there are many lessons to be taught about chivalry. This tale tells the
story of a narcissistic knight that rapes a young woman alongside a river. Once
King Arthur finds about this sin he demands the knights head. Fortunately, the
knight is spared by the woman but in a redeemable manner. The knight is set out on
a year long mission in order to answer one question what do women want the most?
. After the year long mission the knight returns and answers the question
successfully. This answer the knight gives is what coincides with the prologue s
last lesson. Women want the same self sovereignty over her husband, as over her
lover, and master him, he must not be above her (Chaucer, 214 218). This saying,
again, is addressing the balance in power within a relationship. There is no doubt that
Chaucer believes a successful marriage needs a balance
Essay Inequality of Wealth and Income Distribution in...
Inequality of Wealth and Income Distribution in America
Every American dreams of finding a job that pays well enough so that they may
comfortably take care of their loved ones and themselves for years to come. Most
Americans hope to find some way to make a living that they enjoy, something that
they view as productive. Unfortunately, many do not have this luxury. In our society,
a good portion of the population is forced to hold the base of our country in place
while hardly being redeemed for their time and effort, and thus the problem of income
inequality. Numbers of these people live from paycheck to paycheck, barely getting
by, not because they manage their money poorly, but because the value of their time
at work is negligible. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Income inequality was a large reason why people immigrated here in the 1800 s.
Their countries were becoming too segregated by classification of income. Now
this country is becoming more of what those people fled from over a hundred
years ago. Moreover, many companies are now moving their production overseas
and taking away the very jobs and opportunities that looked so attractive to the
American immigrants. Back in America, some companies hire illegal aliens at low
wages, which creates a larger lower class. As of 2010, illegal aliens made up 10%
of the California workforce, with over 8 million illegal workers nationally. We need
to keep this country from becoming like those socially segregated countries that
people emigrated from in the past.
Many large firms make a lot of money, but there is no trickle down effect. The few
on top make most of the money while the average worker does much of the work.
According to the real annual income of Americans, about 95% of the benefits of
economic growth over the last 25 years have gone to the rich. Should not the hard
worker on the bottom get more? These firms are controlling because they only give
out as much as necessary to keep the workers employed. Many of these same firms
have companies in other industries, such as entertainment or retail, and a lot of the
money they pay out comes back to them through these other industries. In

Contrasting the Natural and Mechanical Worlds in...
Contrasting the Natural and Mechanical Worlds in Hathaway s Oh, Oh
The French poet and essayist Louis Aragon, in his Paris Peasant, wrote that light is
meaningful only in relation to darkness, and truth presupposes error we only exist in
terms of this conflict, in the zone where black and white clash (Aragon 18). Aragon
noted that the world is full of contrasts, and it is through those contrasts that we live
and understand who we are and why we are here. Without an understanding of light,
Aragon argues, we cannot understand what darkness really is. Or, without an
awareness as to the concept of truth, one cannot possibly error, for the act cannot be
defined. In William Hathaway s poem Oh, Oh, the poet uses language, word ... Show

The dominant contrast in Oh, Oh is created by the comforting versus harsh
descriptions of the natural versus the mechanical. This contrast is created not only
through images, but also through a careful collaboration of word choices selected by
Hathaway. Perhaps the most easily recognizable of these is found in the middle of the
poems only stanza. After the author s persona and his girl have walked through the
country, they encounter the invasion of a train. But, the action of the intrusion is not
what is important here; rather, the language that is used to describe both situations is
what must be examined.
For example, in the first half of the poem, which for the most part describes the
country, the language is filled with beautiful sentences filled with adjective after
adjective after adjective. A simple encounter with cows in a field becomes moo
cows chomping daisies, our own / sweet saliva green with grass stems (2 3). But, on
the entrance of the locomotive, the language changes. The complex, drawn out, three
adjective statement maple dappled summer sunlight is replaced by a sterile and
simple lit headlight (8). From that point forward, the long sentences disappear. Only
when the couple experiences the mechanical real world, do they lose the power of
language to describe what they see.
Another technique that Hathaway uses extensively to demonstrate the difference
The Balkan Peninsula, Or The Balkans, Is A Peninsula And
The Balkan Peninsula, or the Balkans, is a peninsula and a cultural area in
Southeastern Europe with various and disputed borders. It is often analyzed by its
sub regions, including northern, western, eastern and southern European areas. Many
of these areas are highly developed, but some are also currently experiencing
economic, political and / or social problems. However, two particular nations in
Balkans illustrates this paradox quite effectively. These two countries are Albania and
Romania, and these are nations that have realized their potential in most ways, yet
today they are facing significant economic and socio political issues. The two nations

Albanian language is a treasure of the country. It is the most ancient language in
Europe and it belongs to the group of Indo European language, but with its own
branch, and with no similarities to other languages in the whole world. Many people
when they hear me speaking in Albanian, constantly think it is either Slavic or
French. While the Romanian language is also a language that belongs to the group of
Indio European, but is it in the same branch as Italian language, Spanish or
Portuguese. As shown above, in terms of the language, although these two countries
have Indio European language, they have no similarities between each other at all.
Regarding the religion, Albania is one of the countries where the people of
different religions live in harmony together and no extremism is seen in this aspect.
Back in times, Albanian people believed in Christianity . However, after the
Turkish invasion, the majority of them where turned into Muslims; precisely 65%
and the remaining part, 35% stayed Christians. The main reason why all the
religions live in a perfect harmony with each other is because for over 50 years,
Albania was under the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha where religion and believing in
sects wasn t allowed. In conatrast, all the population of Romania is Christian and they
all believe and respect all the events of Christianity.

Persuasive Essay On Video Games
Video games are enjoyed by many around the globe because of the wide variety of
genres available on the market today. These genres range from single player role
playing games to multiplayer first person shooters. So, it begs the question Why
do people seem to enjoy slandering this industry and blame them for hatred, crime,
and anti social behaviour? The type of people that slander video games constantly
criticise this industry but have they taken the time to actually consider the benefits
of playing video games? Video games are making children aggressive and violent!
Said no intelligent person on this planet ever. There has been a debate for decades
on whether or not video games are the centre cause of aggressive behaviour in
children due to the amount of exposure to mature themes. There high doubts that
video games are the cause of hostility in kids and should be seen responsible. There
are millions of television shows that contain much more mature and inappropriate
content, yet no one bats an eye but all of a sudden when a virtual person shoots a

influence but what pieces of evidence do they have that back up their claim? A
psychologist named Andy Przybylski from the University of Oxford concluded his

Aristotle And Aristotle s Philosophy
Both Plato and Aristotle were prominent philosophers during their time and even
today remain some of the most well known philosophers ever. Aristotle was a student
of Plato s and Plato s influence was noticeable throughout Aristotle s work. Though
Aristotle believed and would later teach a lot of Platonic philosophy, that did not
mean that he agreed with everything that Platotaught. One thing that Aristotlewould
critique about Plato s teaching was his idea of what he called Forms and their role in
the world. Although both Aristotle and Plato believed that something s form helped
classify what it is, I found Aristotle s understandingof form to be more convincing
because he believed that Forms consisted within the one world in which we all
already live as opposed to Plato who thought that the world of Forms was separate
from the world of everything else. Both men make very compelling points to back up
their beliefs, but I just felt Aristotle s theory was more believable.
For Plato, the sense of the forms was about the understanding of something higher.
Plato believed that, when one beholds the Forms, one exercises Pure Reason, and
one is like the liberated prisoner [from the allegory of the cave] who gazed upon the
trees and mountains in the sunlit upper world (Palmer 67). Palmer simplified Plato s
conception of the forms in saying that, Forms are the eternal truths that are the
source of all Reality (Palmer 67). One example that Plato used to show this was by
Asian Cultures, Languages, Negotiation Styles, And...
Why is it important for you to increase your knowledge and skill in Asian cultures,
languages, negotiation styles, and business practices? Asia accounts for 59.78% of
the total world population. In fact, China and India alone constitute about 37% of the
world population. The total number of Asian countries is 48, including three of the
most powerful forces in the global market, China, India, and Indonesia. Those three
countries make up more than 40 percent of the earth s inhabitants (Moran, Harris,
Moran, 2011, p. 323). The population of the Asia region of the world contributes a
massive amount of exporting goods, and global business as a whole. The sheer
number of people consuming goods that must be imported to support the large
population force the need for trade with other regions. The demand for resources is
high and the need to develop strong trade relations with other countries is vital to the
continued growth and success of Asian countries. Therefore, it is important to
increase our knowledge of Asian cultures, languages, negotiation styles, and business
practices to further develop business relations that are favorable to the continued
growth and development of our own country and the global marketplace. The Asia
countries make a massive impact on global economics and trade relations which also
affects the political aspects related to international relationships. When westerners are
doing business in the any region of the world, it is important to

During much of his MLB career, Clemente was commonly called to as Bob

Tattoos Research
Tattoos have a history that extends far back into the furthest reaches of time. For
millennia tattoos have been used to help differentiate members of tribes and regions
and even of religions. But the concept of tattooing did not catch on in the Western
world until 18th century explorers discovered tatau in Polynesia; a technique that
became popular among European sailors and then spread to the general populace of
Western societies.
Tattoos are made by inserting indelible ink into the skin s dermis layer in order to
change the skin s pigmentation for (usually) decorative reasons. In some places and
times tattoos were created by hand tapping the ink into the skin. This could be done
with sharpened sticks, bones or any sufficiently sharp object. More modern times have

The tattoo artist uses a stencil to draw the design onto the skin, and then outlines it
with a single tipped needle and thin ink. Shading is then done using a thicker ink
and a variety of needles and color can be applied, this is usually done more than once
to ensure even coloring.
With the advent of computers to produce high quality tattoo flashes, the
improvements in tattoo designs have been quite impressive, ranging from complex
single line designs to impressively blended black and gray shading, sharply
delineated colors and realistic portraiture, all of which are a far cry from the blue
and black fuzzily outlined tattoos of years gone by. And while anyone can learn to
use tattoo equipment, it still takes a real artist to create true tattoo art and the true
portfolio of a real artist is not in how many tattoo flashes they have on their walls, nor
even in the equipment they have on hand, but on the number of satisfied customers
they have

Using small business lifecycle model allows the best innovators to achieve twice the
sales from the new product and turn creatively into a system for impact by running
business not in the traditional way.
Conclusion
Small business is based on the innovation. It proposes new solutions, new products
and new services. Life cycle planning is very essential for development and growth
of the small business. Planning of the life span of the business can set a basis for
the next stage of development and gradual growth into medium and large size
organization. Each stage of the four discussed has its own characteristics and crisis
which need to be dealt with. There is much to learn from the small business life
cycle model: how to remain a group of people who share common mission and goals
and not to grow into a company where people are treated as a set of competences.
What can be learned from The Small Business Life Cycle Model
Small businesses thrive on innovation and are known as innovation engines of the
economy. However, the success rate of the new product development in the small
business is typically less than 10 percent. The success of the launched product is
often less than 50 percent. Some of the recent research shows that the success greatly
depends on the planning of the lifecycle and
Impact Of The Space Race
RQ: How and to what extent did the Space Race have a impact on United States s
defense technologies?
On October 4th, 1957 the Soviet Union launched the first ever satellite, Sputnik. The
launch of Sputnik sent the United States into a frenzy, beginning the Space Race, and
the innovation of technology as a whole. The Space Race most importantly had a
major impact on the evolution of the United States s defense technologies through the
launch of Sputnik. The Space Race sparked the United States battle for technological
superiority against the USSR, and lead to improvizations in their satellite and satellite
defense technologies.
From a United States and Soviet Union perspective that conveys that the Space
Race had a minor impact on the improvisation of United States defense
technologies; the Space Race was in a way responsible for the United State s
production of new technology of missiles and defense against intercontinental
ballistic missiles. In the late 1950s the United States Air Force started a series of
advanced strategic missile projects under the Weapon System WS 199A called
Martin s Bold Orion air launched ballistic missile (ALBM). Similar to ICBMs the
purpose of the ALBM was to destroy satellites sent into orbit that posed a intellectual
and physical threat to the US. The ALBM was created due to the increasing pressure
that the Soviets were to launch a satellite before the United States, and since the
United States would not know of the capabilities of this
Isolation In Isabel Allende s The House Of The Spirits
For Esteban Trueba in chapter 2 of the House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende, after
the death of his fiancee Rosa, he demonstrates his reactions to total isolation from his
family, friends, and the ones he loves most. Ultimately, Esteban s reactions to this
newfound isolation help convey his character which is demonstrated through
symbolism, diction, and inner conflict he faces through all these years. Because
Esteban becomes the leader of the Tres Marias hacienda, he assumes a sensual
nature, but nonetheless an anxious, angry, and tense one as well, as exemplified by
the symbolism and wordplay of Allende. In the first section of the passage, Allende
represents Esteban s mourning of Rosa s death as during The first months, Esteban
Trueba was so busy channeling water, digging wells, removing stones, clearing
pastures, and repairing the chicken coops and stable that the had no time to think
about anything (Allende). By using words such as channeling, removing, clearing,
and repairing, it ultimately depicts meaning towards Esteban s grief against the
death of Rosa. For example, by channeling his anger, removing and clearing what he
had with her, and by trying to repair himself mentally after being so distraught, it
helps demonstrate and foreshadow the fact that he is a very emotional person
throughout the entire book. Overall, by Allende portraying Esteban as a character
that is very hard working and admirable through using these words, her aim is for the

Abstract:
Background: Signet ring cell adenocarcinoma (SRCC), the histological variant of
ampullary carcinoma, is an extremely uncommon malignancy. To our knowledge, this
report is the first case of SRCC with concurrent non gastrointestinal malignancies.
Case Report: A 66 year old male with history of prostatecancer, anglioblastoma
multiforme presented with jaundice and abdominal pain. Endoscopic retrograde
cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) suggested a

90% of SRCC take place in the stomach [1]. SRCC is extremely uncommon in the
ampulla of Vater, and only 32 previous cases have been described in the literature [3].
Because of its uncommon entity, the histological genesis of SRCC is still
mysterious. While previous authors suggested that the tumor came from the ectopic
gastric mucosa located at the ampullary region since most of SRCC are found in
stomach [9, 10], others declared that SRCC occurs from the gastric type metaplastic
epithelium [1] which appeared possibly due to the elevated acidity since the
metaplastic changes were are usually observed at the duodenal bulb in peptic ulcer
patients [10]. However, Our case did not support both theories like the other case
because it did not show any gastric mucosa around the tumor nor peptic ulcer found

Why Did The Farmer s Shape During The Summer Of 1914
The summer of 1914 had been hot; some called it a heatwave, others referred to the
weather as tropical. It was indeed a flaming June and there were those in Axholme
who declared it too hot to work. In such an isolated place, the assassination in
Sarajevo had little impact on the residents of the Isle, indeed, in the week that
Britain went to war there were many focusing on an expected good crop of
potatoes and revelling in a countryside that had never looked better. There were
few who dwelt on the extraordinary rapidity of world events as the war clouds over
Europe moved to shroud the whole of the British Isles. Only days before there had
been celebrations in Crowle when the cricket team thrashed Epworth, with Mr.
Brooks rattling up 77 not out from a total of 119. Epworth struggled to reach 60 but
did have the satisfaction of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indeed, farmers in Owston Ferry were predicting their harvest would be the best
for over forty years. For those canny farmers, who could see far enough into the
future to realise that, if the long predicted war materialised and things worked in
their favour, many could be generously rewarded. So it proved, for the next three
years, many farmers would see their profits rise by a staggering 500%. The
standard of farming on the Isle was generally high but the national picture of
British farming was one of an industry in a poor state. In many places walls and
hedges were badly maintained, farm buildings were crumbling and the land was ill
managed and unproductive. The industry was just about capable of satisfying the
needs of the nation but nowhere near healthy enough to endure the rigours of
protracted hardship. For many an Isle resident the desire to continue with a normal
life remained strong. After all, wars were fought in far away places and had little
effect on life at
Quotes From Orphan Train
Orphan Train does an exceptional job at showing what Christina Baker Kline was
referencing to in her quote. In particular, I thought that Orphan Train was able to
effectively give insight into how the way that people tell their stories can give
away details about them. In addition to this, I thought that Kline did a wonderful
job at showing how trauma works to shape people s lives. By carefully choosing
the words and phrases she used to tell Molly s story, Kline was able to show how
the way that people tell stories can reveal personal information about them. For
example, when Molly is having conversations with people, she will often have
snarky thoughts that she doesn t say out loud. These are revealed to us by the
narrator, who I assume to be Molly as we re only ever able to see what she is
thinking. These sarcastic thoughts reveal to the reader that Molly has a snippy
personality. The fact that Molly keeps the majority of these thoughts to herself shows
that she is conscientious of the people around her. Kline also uses techniques similar
to the ones mentioned above to reveal vital information about Vivian. For example,
right before... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout her life, Vivian suffered through many traumatic events such as the
death of her parents and being raped by Mr. Grote. These events took a firm hold
of her life and alienated her from the world around her. For example, after revealing
to Molly that she gave away her infant daughter, Vivian says that because of all of
the horrible things that happened to her in her life, she didn t think that she deserved
to be loved. This shows evidence that the trauma Vivian has sustained caused her to
develop self esteem issues. Another example of how traumatic events can shape lives
is found when Vivian says that if her parents hadn t died and she hadn t been
relocated until she lived with the Neilsons, she never would ve met Dutchy
How Did Pericles Grow As A Political Leader
Pericles Research Paper Pericles was one of the greatest political leaders in Greece
at the time. Not only did he affect Greece s future but he was also a huge influence on
the modern democratic world. It was under his leadership that Athenian culture
flourished and that the idea of equality became more universal. There s not much on
Pericleschildhood, however we do know that he was born into a rich family in
Athens and his father was a war hero from the Persian Wars. When Pericles was still
just a toddler, Persia was defeated at the Battle of Marathon. At the age of 13, young
Pericles had to evacuate Athens with his family during the Battle of Salamis. Then, at
the age of 17, Pericles inherited a large fortune. With this large fortune,
Comparing Identity In Ratatouille, And Disney-Pixar s
Identity, what is identity? Is it who we think we are? Or is it who we want to be?
Perhaps it is even how others see us? My Father s Axe by Tim Winton and Disney
Pixar s Ratatouille both make viewers consider the identities of the main characters
and how sometimes, how society sees us or who we want to be can be in conflict
with whom we really are. In Winton s short story, the protagonist tries to be a good
man, good husband and a good father, but all these things he wants to be is
diminishing his true self. While in the movie Ratatouille , Linguini has become a
famous cook through the help of his talented little friend . After he reaches the peak
of the cooking world in France, he slowly realises that his true self is just as
important as how society sees him.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He could swing an axe, my Father , this imagery presents to readers the persona s
high regards towards his father. It is also hinting the persona s amazement seeing
his father s ability and how he wants to become like his father in the future. The
idiom within my mother called me the man of the house, which frightened me a
little highlights how his mother has acknowledged him as the provider of the
family but it is evident that he does not agree to this idea. This further emphasises
how other people see us can define us more than who we really are. I saw my father
ball his handkerchief up and bit on it to muffle his sobs . The identity crisis is not
only affecting the main character but also his father. The example underline the
notion of how our individual identity does not define who we are but how others
see us that actually make up our identity. This theme of being yourself is not always
how society will perceive you is also explored in the movie
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Traditional Medicine
INTRODUCTION:
The skin or cutaneous membrane covers the external surface of the body. Skin
contributes in thermoregulation, serve as water repellant, and synthesize a number of
useful compounds like vitamin D and most importantly it act as a protective barrier
between the external environment and internal tissue [1]. According to medical
dictionary, breaching of skin or underlying tissue due to any accident, act of violence
or surgery is called as wound [2]. Following an injury, the skin has a tremendous
capacity to heal. When skin get injured, the repair process entails removal of the
damaged tissue and laying down of a new extracellular matrix (ECM) over which
epidermal continuity can be reestablished [3]. To promote wound repair and

ROS include free radicals such as superoxide anion radicals, hydroxyl radicals and
non free radical species such as hydrogen peroxide etc are exacerbating factors in

from plant such as polysaccharides from Angelica sinensis, Aloe vera gel, Eucommia
ulmoides Oliver leaf extract possess wound healing by scavenging free radical and
promoting collagen synthesis [40].
Antimicrobial activity
Microorganisms are believed to play a significant role in impaired healing of chronic
wounds and the development of infection related complications [41]. Bacterial
infection can cause sepsis occur which impede the repair process [42]. A number of
polyherbal preparations containing antimicrobial action have been scientifically
proved to possess wound healing activity for e.g. polyherbal gel formulated from
Terminalia arjuna, Centella asiatica and Curcuma longa reported to possess
antimicrobial and wound healing activities [43].

Ukraine And Us Government Essay
The Ukraine and the U.S. Governments are similar and different in a lot of ways.
The purpose of this essay is to compare and contrast the two governments. The
essay will begin with a breakdown of the countries governments. Then it will talk
about each country s history and culture. The essay will end with a summary of a
current issue in each country. The U.S. Government and the Ukraine Government
are similar and different. For example, the U.S. government is a federal
presidential republic, which means that it is a country with no monarchy. There is a
president, vice president, and a cabinet. The Ukraine government is a semi
presidential government, which is a system of government where there is a
president, prime minister, and a cabinet. The prime minister and cabinet are
responsible for the legislature. In Ukraine, elections are held to determine the
president and legislature. The presidential term is 5 years , as well as the
legislatures term. The legislature has 450 members. Currently, the election process
for the legislature is a mixed electoral system. Half of the representatives are voted

Pallas s Cats
The non fiction article Little Cats with Big Attitude was written by Fiona
Sunquist. The main idea of the article is how these tiny Pallas s cats are actually
vicious wild animals. The Pallas s cats are named after Peter Pallas, a German
naturalist. They live in China and parts of Mongolia. These cats have a bulky body
and a thick layer of fur. The fur coat is especially heavy in the belly and tail area,
this helps the body to keep warm during cold seasons. Their appearance gives off a
cute vibe, but they re actually violent wild cats. Pallas s cats favorite foods are
pikas and small rodents. Its round ears are the same level as its head, making it
unnoticeable when it peers over rocks. Plus, their pale fur makes them blend in
perfectly with rocks. Pallas s cats can be invincible to its prey with such hiding
ability. They are incredible hunters, too. They would creep up closely on its prey and

very big feature of a Labeled Diagram. Furthermore, this is different from the rest
of the text features because it has a very different color scheme than the rest of the

accompanied with bright yellow labels. The Labeled Diagram Busy Body showed
me every part of the Pallas s cats body, and label each with a description and the
purpose of that body part. This is absolutely necessary for me to understand more
about Pallas s cats, it does help me to understand the article more

African American reactions to death and loss can be traced...
African American reactions to death and loss can be traced to their African roots,
their centuries of slavery, their commitment to Christianity, and their post slavery
treatment in American society. Among those to explore death and dying in twentieth
century African America is author Karla FC Holloway. In her book Passed On:
African AmericanMourning Stories: a Memorial Collection, Holloway thoroughly
investigated the myths, rituals, economics, and politics of African American
mourning and burialpractices, and found that ways of dying are just as much a part
of black history as ways of living.
Holloway dug into the history of African American death through a series of
interviews, archival research, and analyses of literature, film, ... Show more content

She also reluctantly shared the story of her son, Bem, and the way his death moved
her research to the personal arena. In her conclusion, Holloway sought to
commemorate through observation, ceremony, and the calling of others to
remembrance and celebration. Some researchers believe that understanding how
African groups buried their dead might help us better understand the early years of
African American cemeteries in the American South. Africa is large and diverse,
however, so such an undertaking is difficult. Increasing the difficulty was the
multitude of religious beliefs once the slaves arrived on the plantations most planters
were Christians, while some blacks were Moslems and many others held other
religious beliefs. Anthropologist Margaret Washington Creel has examined a range
of African emotional beliefs and religious practices to better understand slave
religion. She found there were various beliefs among African Americans that dictated
different ways to be buried in the South, but she found it difficult to discover the
religious beliefs of African American slaves. White planters often tried to curb, or at
least carefully observe, the religious training and activities of their slaves, but very
few planter diaries recount the events surrounding slave burials.
Death certainly was a way of life for African American slaves and they had few
opportunities to make the trip from slave settlement to cemetery for their friends and
family.

  • 1. Essays On Shakespeare Writing an essay on the topic of "Essays on Shakespeare" can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, William Shakespeare is a literary giant whose works have left an indelible mark on the world of literature. On the other hand, the vastness and depth of his plays, sonnets, and poems present a daunting task for anyone attempting to encapsulate his brilliance in a single essay. To start with, delving into the extensive body of Shakespeare's work requires a comprehensive understanding of his plays and the historical context in which they were written. Each play carries its own set of themes, characters, and intricate plots that demand careful analysis and interpretation. Unraveling the layers of meaning within Shakespeare's language, filled with poetic nuances and Elizabethan expressions, adds an additional layer of complexity to the writing process. Moreover, crafting an essay on Shakespeare involves not just summarizing the plots but also delving into the profound themes and motifs that characterize his work. Analyzing the characters' motivations, the cultural and social implications, and the philosophical underpinnings of the plays requires a keen literary insight. Furthermore, addressing the vast body of criticism and scholarly debates surrounding Shakespeare's works adds an academic dimension to the essay. Engaging with various critical perspectives and synthesizing them into a coherent and original argument can be intellectually challenging. Despite the difficulties, writing an essay on Shakespeare provides a unique opportunity for personal growth and academic exploration. It allows the writer to appreciate the beauty of Shakespeare's language, explore timeless themes, and contribute to the ongoing conversation about his significance in the literary canon. In conclusion, tackling the task of writing an essay on Shakespeare demands not only a profound understanding of his works but also the ability to navigate the intricate web of literary criticism. • 2. Sputnik Launch A Space Race From the origins of rocketry, the only major contenders in space exploration were governmental agencies, while the commercial use of the Universe was limited to communication satellites. However, everything is changing. Modern developments like reusable rockets and nano satellites drastically lower the cost of accessing space, starting the new Space Race. This Race, unlike the previous one, is accessible for all of us and I m going to share it in my Paideia class. If we were to launch a space mission, the first step would be, well, building a spacecraft. Since Sputnik launch in 1957 until recently, the satellite industry was limited to governmental labs, military and telecommunication companies. Costing from hundreds of millions up to billions
  • 3. Essay Reading a TV Commercial Reading a TV Commercial The first bit in the advert shows a predominantly red background with dancers silhouetted in the bottom left hand corner. I think that the silhouette is in the corner because that isn t what we are supposed to see. Even though this image shows enjoyment and excitement as the feeling you get from coca cola, this isn t what they are selling. In the bottom left hand corner as well there is a small logo saying, dance . The writing in this caption is in much the same style as the coca cola logo so this and the red could both be the first signs of coca cola. The second clip is of a hand on a keyboard. As in the last clip, the caption, dance is still in the corner. In this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The man is the central figure, even though his face is blurred, because he represents the action and energy made by the feeling you get from a coca cola. In the background is a drinks vending machine with the coca cola logo on the side. This is to remind you that he gets the feeling from coca cola and also plays a part in the anchorage of the whole advert. The fourth extract is of three coke bottles dancing. This implies that the coca cola has so much energy in it, the bottles even move themselves. This is an insight into the effect it has on us. This is also when the caption dance disappears. This could be because the writing on the coke bottles is similar to the writing in the caption and so this shows the connection between action and movement (dance) and coca cola. The cola bottle also moves to the beat of the backing track. The fifth part is of a night gowned dancer in an attic bedroom. The main colour in this one is yellow which, to me, represents warmth, sunshine and summer. This could be to show that coca cola is best drunk when it is summer and it is really hot weather. Also with the clip being in a bedroom it shows that coca cola can wake you up even if you are sleepy at the end of the day and it puts you on a high. The aspect of being on a high is also shown because it is shot in an attic, which is obviously very high up in a house. This sixth clip shows
  • 4. Description Of A Business Entity That Ms. Growne BACKGROUND: Sue Growne, client G14159, is looking to purchase a tavern, which would include both realty and personality. So ReaLand CPA s could better serve this client, I, Bobbi Paternico was tasked with researching the legal and tax options available to the client, based upon the entity utilized for the purchase and the method of purchase. ANALYSIS: The type of business entity that Ms. Growne selects can have both legal and tax implications. Having said this, there are some tax and legal considerations to examine regardless of the type of purchasing entity. Specifically, one of the first decisions that Ms. Growne should make, is whether she wants to acquire the assets of the tavern or the stock/interests in the business... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The statement of reserves should be reviewed, since the acquisition of the tavern, through the purchase of the seller s interest, results in the buyer, Ms. Growne accepting both known and unknown liabilities of the business prior to her ownership. In addition, by reviewing the financial statements to look at the net operating gain or loss, Ms. Growne can determine if there is a loss she can offset against her other sources of income. For some individuals, the idea of being able to offset other income with these losses incurred prior to ownership is appealing, due to the tax benefit that may result. However, if the buyer does not have significate income to be offset or is not in a higher tax brackets, this benefit of the acquisition through interest becomes less attractive. In addition, if the sellers basis in the assets are significantly less than the assets fair market value, the buyer is likely to incur greater gains on the assets in the future, resulting in a higher taxable income and leading to negative tax implication. In contrast, if the assets of the business were purchased, the buyer would not be susceptible to prior liabilities and the seller must examine their basis for each asset, compare it with the assets current market value, and incur any applicable gains or losses, intern shifting the tax consequences of an increase in
  • 5. The Quebec Separatist Movement Of Canada At some point, countries will fight for freedom at their breaking point. For example, during the mid 1900s, Canada did their own movement called the Quebec Separatist Movement. The movement was about Quebec s independence from government. The movement involved the citizens of Quebec and a group called Front de Liberation du Quebec(FLQ). The Front de Liberation du Quebec had kidnapped people in Canada. The Quebec Separatist Movement began due to Quebec s citizens ambition to become independent and was finally resolved by making a new constitution. The historical context of the Quebec Separatist movement included The Quiet Revolution. The Quiet Revolution was when small groups try to make Quebec independent especially FLQ. The small groups members were Francophones, French speaking citizens. Their ideals was to make Quebec independent from CanadaЕ› government. First, Canada made a bill stating that it will create a better future for Canada. The Official Language Bill is a reflection of the nature of this country as a whole and of a conscious choice we are making about our future. (World History: The Modern Era) Canada thought it was necessary to have one language, and it will make them feel united. After this bill was established, Canada s government regretted and believed that there should be two official language. Yet the citizens of Canada were still deciding if they wanted that law to pass. We believe in two official languages and in a pluralist society, not

But it has major weaknesses; sex involves another person, not just an inanimate object; sex involves caring for the feelings of the other person, while wearing shoes does not involve caring for the feelings of the shoes; and studies have shown that trying sex before marriage has no real connection with the level of sexual satisfaction within marriage. 14. • 7. Nora A Hero A hero is defined as a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. A Doll s House , authored by Henrik Ibsen, contains a protagonist that fits this definition. The protagonist, Nora Helmer, represents courage as the character rightfully decides to relieve herself from the traditional social commitments and obligations, thus becoming an independent individual. In addition, Nora displays selflessness through removing herself from the family as it is realized the young woman is an inadequate mother. Moreover, Ibsen sets Nora in a worldof predetermined social constraints that lead the young woman to become deprived of freedom and genuine happiness. Subjugation and oppression act as significant... As Nora comes to realize that her marriage to Torvald has been loveless and the young woman has only been fulfilling the traditional role of a dull housewife, Nora becomes overwhelmed as the woman accepts the lack of knowledge in being a genuine wife and mother, The way I am now, I m no wife for you (1774). Moreover, Nora decides to leave her children with Torvald as the woman laments not knowing how to take care of the three children, I won t look in on the children. I know they re in better hands than mine (1774). While the act of abandoning one s own family may come across as selfish, this is quite the opposite in Nora Helmer s instance. Norma accepts she is an inadequate mother and would be unable to care for the children without any aid from others, The way I am now, I m no use to them (1774). This inadequacy is further brought to light by Torvald as he exclaims that Nora is not to be trusted with the job of bringing up the couple s children. Additionally, Nora proves the selflessness of her character as the woman explains she must seek an education before trying to educate her own children, I m not up to the job. There s another job I have to do first. I have to try to educate myself (1772). In order to become the adequate mother that her children need to be appropriately raised, Nora must seek enlightenment without the influence of Torvald, You can t
  • 8. Emotions And The Human Race There are many answers to why emotions are important. Emotions serve several purposes. Emotions play a vital role in how we think and behave. Emotions influence our actions, our outlook, and our personal characteristics. Emotions help us grow and survive. Emotions help us make decisions. Emotions help people understand one another. The list goes on and on because emotions are key to the existence of the human race. Without emotions the human race would be unable to function physically or mentally. According to the evolutionary approach to emotions, emotions are very important. They are the key to animal and human survival. Evolution states that emotions are passed on through genetic replication. It forms bases of behavior. Without... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hardwired emotions are associated with the nervous system. It s detection of stimuli and recognition of stimuli helps to decide what to do and then do it. Without this we would not be able to respond to emotional encounters. For example, we need the stimulus, to thalamus, to emotion and response to be able to react when we see a man with a gun. Without this brain and body connection to emotions, you wouldn t be able to respond to threatening situations, decreasing your chances of survival. The biological approach to emotions is important because it connects the brain to the body in order to help further the survival of a species through interpretation of a situation and reacting to it. The cognitive approach to emotions explains how people s emotions depend on their appraisal of an occurrence. Appraisal of a situation can determine the relevance of a situation. There are two types of appraisal, primary and secondary appraisal. They can help determine whether a situation is beneficial to someone and if so how they might benefit from the situation or if a situation is dangerous and if so how to cope. Appraisals are quick. The cognitive part of this is the emotion that occurs from the situation. For example, when you feel something, rather than just reacting quickly, reflecting on what appraisal you made leads you to that feeling. If you change the appraisal, you can change how you feel. The feeling attached to that appraisal determines

  • 10. Leon Festinger s Theory Of Cognitive Dissonance Leon Festinger s theory of cognitive dissonance (1957) sets its meaning on the theory that behavior does not support the attitude or vice versa. At many times individuals see themselves experiencing this phenomenon, so in order to reduce this dissonance, either the attitude or the behavior needs to be altered or changed. A perfect example would have to be when a white person says that black and whites are all the same yet he/she would not want to live in a neighborhood with the majority of the population being blacks. This expresses the person s strong attitude towards the topic, yet their behavior shows otherwise. This paper will focus in deeply understanding what cognitive dissonance is and analyzing well known studies that have conducted extensive research on it. Our attitude and behaviors are what defines us in society and what supports our views. However when these two contradict with each other, many different outcomes may to happen. That is why consistency plays an eccentric role in our lives, which brings the question of what happens when we are inconsistent with what we say and do? Researchers Lisa L. Shu and Fransesca Gino conducted a study called Sweeping Dishonesty under the Rug: How Unethical Actions Lead to Forgetting of Moral Rules, (2012) in which they wanted to know whether one consequence could be the forgetting of moral rules. These two searched to understand how our action or better yet our immoral actions, leads us to forget what our parents
  • 11. The Purpose Of Ideology 1.ideology Meaning and Philosophy Ideology is a system of meaning that helps define and explain the world and that makes value judgements about that world. It refers not only to the beliefs held about the world but also to the basic ways in which the world is defined (Croteau, Hoynes, and Milan 1953). Ideology is a body of ideas concerning economic, social and political values and goals which posit action programmes for attaining these goals. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Link between ideology and media The ideology of the media is broad and manifests in the communicativity of the media. To facilitate ideological analysis, however, the key is the fit between the images and texts in a specific media output, plus the manner thought and discussion on social and cultural issues. Questions, however, arise as to how the media content (shaped by ideologies) depict real life. This begs the question of function and ethics. The ideological analysis further attempts to answer questions about what the media messages depict of the society and its people. This underscores why politicians have long perceived mass media as a veritable channel of disseminating an ideology so that the society can mirror itself against what the media feeds it and thus be manipulated. This further begs the question of whether the media is a contributor or otherwise to societal problems in the face of political ideological dissemination. Furthermore, the media and ideology are interconnected in the following ways (Asemah, 2011): i.The media serves as a channel for communication of ideologies ii. Media function requires its representation of concepts of reality within and without the local environment to the
  • 12. The Image Of The Original Design By Evoking Less Distress It is the shifting of emotion from one idea to another that resembles the original in some qualities or aspects. This movement permits the symbolic representation of the original design by evoking less distress. In other words, displacement is when a person represses feelings of affection or fear or impulses that they feel towards another person. They recognize that their feelings are either irrational or socially unacceptable and therefore cannot be publicly demonstrated. The psyche in turn prevents these emotions from being converted into inappropriate actions. However, since the feelings continue to exist, they are instead displaced towards another person or animal whom it is acceptable to express such sentiments against. For example, a... In doing so, they are able to avoid accepting the true cause or reason that has resulted in the persons present situation. For example, a shoplifter that blames their action of theft on greedy capitalists who care more about making money than making goods affordable. Rationalization is a widely used defense mechanism, especially in attempts to excuse mistakes to avoid condemnation by others and themselves. A common example of rationalization is expressed in the adage, sour grapes . An example of rationalization that I have witnessed is someone that I know who refuses to stop smoking because she is going to inevitably die one day. She excuses her addiction by dismissing its harmful effects and uses the unavailability of death as the rationalization to continue her behavior. Dissociation Temporary and drastically modifying one s character or one s sense of personal identity to avoid emotional distress. The use of dissociation as a defense mechanism tends to involve temporary loss of a person s connection to the world surrounding them. People experiencing disassociation often describe feeling separated from the outside world, as though they exist in a different realm. Dissociation often helps people to cope with very uncomfortable situations

Optic Nerve Construction There are many structures in the eye, some of which include; the retina, rods and cones, the macula, the central fovea, the cranial nerve, the optic chiasm and the lateral geniculate nucleus. The retina is a layer at the back of the eye containing cells that are sensitive to light, it triggers impulses through the optic nerve. Rods and cones are specialized receptors which sense light and color. The macula is an area about the diameter of a pencil head and is close to 100 times more sensitive to small visual features than the rest of the retina. We were about a mile and a half away from playland and I couldn t drive us there because there was nowhere to park at playland because we were going so late. It was getting dark fast and we had to decide how to get there and how all of us can t fit into a four passenger uber taxi and we had 3 bikes. Dylan was injured with a knee problem so he could not bike or run. Uber was getting more expensive by the minute so Dylan ordered the uber and he and Ryan went to take the uber with him and the rest of us rode bikes there. I had a road bike and I gave Max the bmx with the tires with almost no tread and Noah had his professional mountain bike that he uses for competition. Me and noah started pedaling full speed as soon as we made the final decision as the uber pulls up to curb. Me and Noah left Max in the dust and so we get about seven blocks towards playland and we decide to wait for him and he shows up huffing and puffing after a minute of waiting. There was a giant hill that was in front of us that probably was tall enough to pop your ears like when you go on a plane. Me and noah looked at each other and started pedaling full speed in first gear and he manages to pull ahead while we race to the top. As we get to the top we went down the hill about 35 miles per hour on our bikes which was an adrenaline rush for all of us

They soon know that they will grow up, and the way Wendy knew was this. One day when she was two years old she was playing in a garden, and she plucked another flower and ran with it to her mother. I suppose she must have looked rather delightful, for Mrs. Darling put her hand to her heart and cried, Oh, why can t you remain like this for ever! This was all that passed between them on the subject, but henceforth Wendy knew that she must grow up. You always know after you are two. Two is the beginning of the end. J.M. When the mother does speak to her son, it is only to say that at least David died as a perfect boy who would always need his mother. As a result of extreme neglect, (the father did not interact with the children) and perhaps psychological abuse, this son stops growing and never reaches puberty. As an adult he is 4 10 . The surprising end to this story is that this man grew up to be the author of the beloved story Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie, who was forever writing about boys who did not grow up (2). The symptoms include decreased growth hormone (GH) secretion, very short stature, weight that is inappropriate for the height, and immature skeletal age. When Sarah s aunt told me this story I thought she was being silly. A long time ago Jane had a new baby, a new house, and no husband. She was lucky when her sister Eloise offered to come stay with her and help out, until her husband returned from working in Alberta. The sisters had almost finished unpacking, but Eloise found one small box, labeled for the baby, that sat alone in the dark hallway. Jane, what s in here? Eloise asked. Black curls fanned her pillow, and Kate pursed her lips together in a little frown. I know, said Eloise, stroking Kate s cheek with her finger. It s cold, but we ll get that sorted. Eloise pulled a blanket off a chair, and lovingly covered her niece with it. She then went back to her own room, and promptly fell asleep. The next morning Eloise sat with her sister, while Jane fed the baby pureed carrots. Kate resembled a jack o lantern, her face was caked in orange and she was smiling naughtily. I only get pockets of sleep these days. It didn t feel like a good dream, Eloise said. Was the little girl trying to kill you? Jane teased, wiping the baby s mouth with a cloth. No, but it sounded odd. Too pretty. Well at least the kid wasn t crying, Jane said. Yeah, Eloise said, biting her bottom lip.

  • 29. Chaucer s Canterbury Tales And The Wife Of Bath s Tale Didactic literature is a work of writing that has been around for many centuries. It can come in all types of forms novels, plays, poems, etc. The main similarity that all didactic literature have in common is their message. They all aim to impact their audience with a message or moral that usually involves religion, philosophy, history, or even politics. In a way, didactic literature always tries to improve a part of society in a moral basis. The reason it targets a part of society is because didactic literature has an audience of origin that the moral applies to. For example, Chaucer s Canterbury Tales: The Wifeof Bath s Prologue and The Wife of Bath s Tale , which is written by Geoffrey Chaucer, takes place during the late... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Within these three relationships, the power in the relationship was given to the woman . However, the 5th husband that she married differed from the first three. He wanted to have the power in the relationship and this resulted in a clash. Ultimately, the husband yelled at her, beat her, and left her deaf on one ear. This shows that if both the woman and man want control in the relationship, there will always be a problem. These marriages teach the reader that a marriage needs to have both powers in balance and cooperate together in order to succeed. Moving on to Chaucer s second tale, there are many lessons to be taught about chivalry. This tale tells the story of a narcissistic knight that rapes a young woman alongside a river. Once King Arthur finds about this sin he demands the knights head. Fortunately, the knight is spared by the woman but in a redeemable manner. The knight is set out on a year long mission in order to answer one question what do women want the most? . After the year long mission the knight returns and answers the question successfully. This answer the knight gives is what coincides with the prologue s last lesson. Women want the same self sovereignty over her husband, as over her lover, and master him, he must not be above her (Chaucer, 214 218). This saying, again, is addressing the balance in power within a relationship. There is no doubt that Chaucer believes a successful marriage needs a balance

Perhaps the most easily recognizable of these is found in the middle of the poems only stanza. After the author s persona and his girl have walked through the country, they encounter the invasion of a train. But, the action of the intrusion is not what is important here; rather, the language that is used to describe both situations is what must be examined. The type of people that slander video games constantly criticise this industry but have they taken the time to actually consider the benefits of playing video games? Video games are making children aggressive and violent! Said no intelligent person on this planet ever. There has been a debate for decades on whether or not video games are the centre cause of aggressive behaviour in children due to the amount of exposure to mature themes. There high doubts that video games are the cause of hostility in kids and should be seen responsible. There are millions of television shows that contain much more mature and inappropriate content, yet no one bats an eye but all of a sudden when a virtual person shoots a gun everyone goes ballistic! People always say computer games are a bad influence but what pieces of evidence do they have that back up their claim? A psychologist named Andy Przybylski from the University of Oxford concluded his experiment and stated there was no solid proof that links violent video games with aggressive behaviour 1. The hostility of a person can be caused by many things like past experiences such as
  • 37. Aristotle And Aristotle s Philosophy Both Plato and Aristotle were prominent philosophers during their time and even today remain some of the most well known philosophers ever. Aristotle was a student of Plato s and Plato s influence was noticeable throughout Aristotle s work. Though Aristotle believed and would later teach a lot of Platonic philosophy, that did not mean that he agreed with everything that Platotaught. One thing that Aristotlewould critique about Plato s teaching was his idea of what he called Forms and their role in the world. Although both Aristotle and Plato believed that something s form helped classify what it is, I found Aristotle s understandingof form to be more convincing because he believed that Forms consisted within the one world in which we all already live as opposed to Plato who thought that the world of Forms was separate from the world of everything else. Both men make very compelling points to back up their beliefs, but I just felt Aristotle s theory was more believable. For Plato, the sense of the forms was about the understanding of something higher. Plato believed that, when one beholds the Forms, one exercises Pure Reason, and one is like the liberated prisoner [from the allegory of the cave] who gazed upon the trees and mountains in the sunlit upper world (Palmer 67). Palmer simplified Plato s conception of the forms in saying that, Forms are the eternal truths that are the source of all Reality (Palmer 67). One example that Plato used to show this was by

Why is it important for you to increase your knowledge and skill in Asian cultures, languages, negotiation styles, and business practices? Asia accounts for 59.78% of the total world population. In fact, China and India alone constitute about 37% of the world population. The total number of Asian countries is 48, including three of the most powerful forces in the global market, China, India, and Indonesia. Those three countries make up more than 40 percent of the earth s inhabitants (Moran, Harris, Moran, 2011, p. 323). The population of the Asia region of the world contributes a massive amount of exporting goods, and global business as a whole. The sheer number of people consuming goods that must be imported to support the large population force the need for trade with other regions. The demand for resources is high and the need to develop strong trade relations with other countries is vital to the continued growth and success of Asian countries. Therefore, it is important to increase our knowledge of Asian cultures, languages, negotiation styles, and business practices to further develop business relations that are favorable to the continued growth and development of our own country and the global marketplace. The Asia countries make a massive impact on global economics and trade relations which also affects the political aspects related to international relationships. For millennia tattoos have been used to help differentiate members of tribes and regions and even of religions. But the concept of tattooing did not catch on in the Western world until 18th century explorers discovered tatau in Polynesia; a technique that became popular among European sailors and then spread to the general populace of Western societies. Tattoos are made by inserting indelible ink into the skin s dermis layer in order to change the skin s pigmentation for (usually) decorative reasons. On October 4th, 1957 the Soviet Union launched the first ever satellite, Sputnik. The launch of Sputnik sent the United States into a frenzy, beginning the Space Race, and the innovation of technology as a whole. The Space Race most importantly had a major impact on the evolution of the United States s defense technologies through the launch of Sputnik. The Space Race sparked the United States battle for technological superiority against the USSR, and lead to improvizations in their satellite and satellite defense technologies. From a United States and Soviet Union perspective that conveys that the Space Race had a minor impact on the improvisation of United States defense technologies; the Space Race was in a way responsible for the United State s production of new technology of missiles and defense against intercontinental ballistic missiles. In the late 1950s the United States Air Force started a series of advanced strategic missile projects under the Weapon System WS 199A called Martin s Bold Orion air launched ballistic missile (ALBM). Isolation In Isabel Allende s The House Of The Spirits For Esteban Trueba in chapter 2 of the House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende, after the death of his fiancee Rosa, he demonstrates his reactions to total isolation from his family, friends, and the ones he loves most. Ultimately, Esteban s reactions to this newfound isolation help convey his character which is demonstrated through symbolism, diction, and inner conflict he faces through all these years. Because Esteban becomes the leader of the Tres Marias hacienda, he assumes a sensual nature, but nonetheless an anxious, angry, and tense one as well, as exemplified by the symbolism and wordplay of Allende. In the first section of the passage, Allende represents Esteban s mourning of Rosa s death as during The first months, Esteban Trueba was so busy channeling water, digging wells, removing stones, clearing pastures, and repairing the chicken coops and stable that the had no time to think about anything (Allende). By using words such as channeling, removing, clearing, and repairing, it ultimately depicts meaning towards Esteban s grief against the death of Rosa. For example, by channeling his anger, removing and clearing what he had with her, and by trying to repair himself mentally after being so distraught, it helps demonstrate and foreshadow the fact that he is a very emotional person throughout the entire book. Overall, by Allende portraying Esteban as a character that is very hard working and admirable through using these words, her aim is for the

In particular, I thought that Orphan Train was able to effectively give insight into how the way that people tell their stories can give away details about them. In addition to this, I thought that Kline did a wonderful job at showing how trauma works to shape people s lives. By carefully choosing the words and phrases she used to tell Molly s story, Kline was able to show how the way that people tell stories can reveal personal information about them. For example, when Molly is having conversations with people, she will often have snarky thoughts that she doesn t say out loud. These are revealed to us by the narrator, who I assume to be Molly as we re only ever able to see what she is thinking. These sarcastic thoughts reveal to the reader that Molly has a snippy personality. The fact that Molly keeps the majority of these thoughts to herself shows that she is conscientious of the people around her. Africa is large and diverse, however, so such an undertaking is difficult. Increasing the difficulty was the multitude of religious beliefs once the slaves arrived on the plantations most planters were Christians, while some blacks were Moslems and many others held other religious beliefs. Anthropologist Margaret Washington Creel has examined a range of African emotional beliefs and religious practices to better understand slave religion. She found there were various beliefs among African Americans that dictated different ways to be buried in the South, but she found it difficult to discover the religious beliefs of African American slaves. White planters often tried to curb, or at least carefully observe, the religious training and activities of their slaves, but very few planter diaries recount the events surrounding slave burials. Death certainly was a way of life for African American slaves and they had few opportunities to make the trip from slave settlement to cemetery for their friends and family.
