Bilingualism Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of bilingualism is a task that demands a nuanced understanding
of the topic and a comprehensive exploration of various facets. The complexity arises from the
need to delve into linguistic, cognitive, socio-cultural, and educational dimensions associated
with bilingualism. To present a well-rounded perspective, one must consider both the advantages
and challenges posed by bilingualism, addressing topics such as cognitive benefits, language
acquisition, cultural identity, and potential hurdles in language development.
Navigating through the vast body of research on bilingualism, one must synthesize information
from linguistics, psychology, and education. Incorporating studies that span different age groups,
socio-economic backgrounds, and language combinations adds an additional layer of intricacy.
Striking a balance between scholarly insights and real-world applications is essential to make the
essay relevant and engaging.
The challenge lies not only in presenting factual information but also in weaving a coherent
narrative that captivates the reader's attention. Addressing potential counterarguments and
acknowledging the ongoing debates within the field of bilingualism further complicates the
writing process. Maintaining a clear structure while juggling multifaceted aspects of the topic
requires careful planning and execution.
Moreover, language proficiency plays a crucial role. Writing about bilingualism demands a
command of language that extends beyond the surface level. The ability to articulate thoughts,
theories, and analyses in a concise and eloquent manner is paramount. Balancing a scholarly tone
with accessibility is vital to cater to a diverse audience.
In conclusion, tackling a bilingualism essay involves navigating through a labyrinth of linguistic,
cognitive, and socio-cultural intricacies. The writer must carefully synthesize a vast array of
information while maintaining clarity and coherence in expression. Despite the challenges, a
well-crafted essay on bilingualism can provide valuable insights into the complexities of
language and culture.

El Profeta Joel
EL PROFETA JOEL
El profeta Joel hace parte en la cultura hebrea y cristiana como uno de los doce
profetas ya que su mensaje es corto a comparaciГіn con otros escritos profГ©ticos
como es el libro de IsaГas o JeremГas.
Amos, AbdГas, JonГЎs, Miqueas, NahГєm, Habacuc, SofonГas, Hageo, ZacarГas y

How Diabetes Affects The Functioning Of The Heart,...
It is a well known fact that diabetes can affect the functioning of the heart, kidneys,
eyes and nerves but few people realize that diabetes can also lead to dental
problems especially in those who are past 45 years of age. In many cases dental
problems in diabetics can lead to loss of teeth. This situation can be prevented to a
great extent by becoming aware of the various dental problems caused by diabetes
and taking timely preventive steps to avoid them. The main causes of dental
problems are lack of proper dental hygiene and heredity. Diabetes only increases the
risk of periodontal diseases and aggravates the effects of these causative factors. The
problem with diabetics is that their bodies do not process sugar adequately resulting...

It can be done by following the glycemic index diligently. This is very important
because studies have shown that people with poor control over their blood sugar
levels suffer from gum disease more easily and frequently and they are likely to lose
more teeth than people with good control over their blood sugar levels. Even children
with insulin dependent diabetes are more at risk from gum problems. Therefore the
best defense against periodontal disease is good diabetic control. In view of increased
risk of dental problems people suffering from diabetes should also avoid situations
that increase the risk even further like smoking and alcohol consumption. Dental and
oral hygiene like regular brushing, flossing and regular visits to the dentist are a must.
How to get the right dental aid products. When it comes to dental whitening

Pros And Cons Of Repeal Obamacare
Summary: The Republicans first priority with Trump becoming the new president is
to repeal Obamacare and to start the process by developing a reconciliation bill and to
take a final vote in the beginning of February. Although, many Democratic lawmakers
in Washington, DC are still trying to slow the process as much as possible by
proposing many amendments to the table. Furthermore, Republican Senate Budget
Committee chairman Mike Enzi suggests that the program has caused more harm
than good by causing many businesses across the country to withdraw from the
market and to leave many families with much less options than before to obtain the
care that they need. In Conclusion, the result of repealing Obamacare will cause the

Best Practice Wireless
*** I was not sure what you were asking with this question, so I did the best that I
could to answer this question. ***
The best practice wireless at the present time depends on the network needs of an
organization. There is no best practice wireless at the present time, as there are
four main recommendations that are based on the network need required by an
organization. The recommendations are divided into four categories that are
based on the network traffic needs. The four categories are low traffic needs,
moderate traffic needs, high traffic needs, and very high traffic needs. Each
category will be discussed in more detail: for low traffic needs 64 Kbps or less the
recommendation is to go with VPN if the reliability is less important, otherwise
frame relay would be the best recommendation. For moderate traffic needs 64 Kbps
to 2 Mbps the recommendation is to go with VPN if the reliability is not as
important, however T1 or fractional T1 is best if ... Show more content on

Women of The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz by
Mordecai...
In The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, a book written by Mordecai Richler,
women are represented as if they are of a lower status and importance than men.
These female characters include Yvette Durelle, Minnie Kravitz, Ida Kravitz, Linda
Rubin, and Sandra Calder. Each of these female characters are in possession of
negative attributes; ranging from helplessness, to deceitfulness, and all the way up
to inanimateness. Minnie Kravitz is the mother of Duddy Kravitz. Because she
passed away while Duddy was still young, the establishment of a mother son
relationship was prevented. The memories Duddy has of her are next to none; and

At first, Duddy and Yvette shared a stable relationship with one another, and
enjoyed each other s company. However, after Yvette took Duddy down to a
somewhat desolate beach, Duddy becomes obsessed with the beach as he believes
that this is the land that he will soon own. At this point, Duddy begins to centralize
his goals solely on owning the land, and begins using Yvette as a tool to attain it.
Because Yvette is of legal age and has a French Canadian background, the farmers
wouldn t be reluctant to refuse or sell her the land as they would be with a young
Jew. In addition to Yvette being used as a device for acquiring land, she is also
used as a device of Duddy s sexual pleasure. Duddy treats her as an object, and
nearly forces her into having sex with him whenever he feels the need to. He also
tells her that if he were to impregnate her, he would simply get his brother, Lennie, to
perform an abortion on her. This was not the only time when he directly
communicates a demeaning comment towards Yvette, as Duddy frequently addresses
Yvette as his Girl Friday throughout the novel. It is unfortunate how Yvette knows
about how she is being used by Duddy, however fails to abandon him right there and

to the relationship Duddy has with Yvette. In Duddy s

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, home to nearly 300,000 Americans. Pittsburgh is the
world s steel and glass capital, ketchup, and the world s first radio broadcasting
station. This city also holds one of the greatest science centers in the United States.
This center is known as the Carnegie Science Center. This science center is home to
two different science centers that came together as one. It has a very vast history
and importance to its region. Its ability to attract families and people all of ages
have made it so popular. This science center did not start off as just a science center.
This center was created by Andrew Carnegie, entrepreneur and philanthropist, who
had a big plan.
Andrew Carnegie was born November 25, 1825 in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. His
family had a huge interest in books and education. He and his family arrived to
United States in 1848. Carnegie began working at the age of 13 in Allegheny,
Pennsylvania. He eventually became a telegraph messenger and then moved up and
became an assistant to one of the most important railroad officials. He then learned
the ropes of the railroad industry and business. In 1856, he became superintendent.
Over the next 10 years, Carnegie became known as a steel tycoon and started his own
steel company. He became establishing different plants throughout the country. By the

Ibis Hotels Business Report Essay
IBIS Hotel Report
Ibis, the popular economy hotel chain, opened its first hotel in 1974, in the French
town of Bordeaux. Since then, the company has expanded globally, reaching 40
countries worldwide, opening over 800 hotels. The majority of chains have been
established in France, while the UK hosts over 50 chains, with further four hotel
openings expected in December 2009. Recently, the chain has introduced a strategy
to promote the chain s drive for greater and greener customer comfort . (Mintel 2009)

Their market position also suggests that Ibis caters for those with a mid budget
(Mintel 2009), and those looking for extra services such as internet connection and
food catering.
Secondary research shows us that Ibis has a fairly respectable reputation in the
UK, serving as a low profile hotel chain. A study found that over 60% of customers
thought their experience was either excellent or good, with around 6 8% finding
their experience either poor or unsatisfactory (Mintel 2009). Moreover, further
research shows that Ibis shares a similar correlation to the average budget hotel,
scoring slightly under par with regards to friendliness. The hotel suffers from a lack
of stand out feature, as the Mintel Budget Hotels UK August 2009 report points out,
Ibis ... has no particular brand identity of its own (Mintel 2009).
Another interesting consumer attitude is the general opinion towards Ibis s
environmental stance. A July 2009 survey discovered that only a small percentage
(around 5%) thought Ibis cares for the environment, however, as previously
mentioned, Ibis launched a new initiative in January 2009, driving towards greater
and greener customer comfort (Mintel 2009), on top of this, Ibis s impressive

The Conflicts Of Characterization In SophoclesAntigone
On the surface of Sophocles Antigone, readers may assume the conflict between King
Creon and Antigone, related to Polynices burial, is trivial. However, upon closer
examination, the dispute between the characters delve deeper into the conflict
between the laws of heaven and the laws of men. Despite standing on opposing sides
of the argument, the conflict highlights similar characteristics between the two.
Sophoclesexplores this type of human behavior in Antigone, through the use of
indirect characterization, to show that when individuals with differing beliefs face
one another, conflict emerges as a result of similar minds.
Sophocles initially utilizes indirect characterization to highlight self centered qualities
between King Creon and Antigone when encountering other characters. After Ismene
denies Antigone s proposal of burying Polynices, Antigone states, [Share] To all the
world! Else I shall hate you more (Sophocles 129). Here, the playwright s approach of
indirect characterization is to label Antigone as a narcissistic character by
implementing a negative speech, revealing how those who do not share her beliefs
are against her. Sophocles continues to utilize the word hate to acknowledge how
Antigone detaches herself from her sister, regardless of the fact that Ismene is only
trying to save her from death. Additionally, this human nature is further emphasized
through the voice of King Creon when Haemon pleads to reason with him to not
execute Antigone.

Defining the Problem The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010
(PPACA)is a highly complex and multifaceted policy in addition to being political
controversial. Changes made to the law by subsequent legislation, focuses on
provisions to expand coverage, control health care costs, and improve health care

on the success of reforming health care and health insurance in the United States.
U.S. Supreme Court, No. 14 144, King Vs. Burwell (2015), challenged the IRS
regulation imposed on the PPACA, because it allowed subsidies on both state and

The Failure Of The League Of Nations
Many may believe that the League of Nations was doomed to failure from the start,
as the doors of their Geneva headquarters opened many say that it was built on
unstable foundations and that the very idea of it was a grave misjudgment by the
powers that were. It s believed to be true that the League of Nations was marred with
many fundamental flaws from the beginning. The League of Nationswas formed
shortly after the end of the First World War. It was an idea that President Wilson
introduced as an international police force to maintain peace and to ensure the
devastating atrocities like the First World War ever happening again. The principle
mission of the League of Nations was to maintain World Peace. Their failure as the
international peacekeeping organization to maintain world peace brought the
outbreak of Second World War. Their failure in policing and preventing peace in
settling disputes throughout Europe, erupted into the most devastating war ever.
Through my analysis of the failures of the League of Nations to maintain world
peace, my arguments will demonstrate the understandings of the reasons and events
that created the most devastating environment for the Second World War. In early
1920 the League officially began working, it was not sufficiently complete in that all
the foundations were not yet in place for it to be built up properly, however is started.

Discussion
As the idea of global warming becomes a more avidly discussed topic, we want to
determine the truth on whether it is actually occurring. Therefore, we completed a
field study where researchers analyzed the average minimum, average maximum,
and average mean temperatures from the years 1948 to 2017, a period of 70 years.
In each of the graphs constructed, there is a slight positive correlation between the
average temperature and time (in years), meaning that as the years increased, so did
their respective temperatures. In Figure 1, the mimimum yearly temperatures
historically start out at 6 В°C to 9 В°C, but on average the data points tend to
remain around 8 В°C. However, as we progress through the timeline, these
temperatures begin to slowly rise. Instead, they now are between 8 В°C to 10 В°C,
with most points around
9 В°C. Finally, there is a large increase in the current years because in 2017, the
highest average mimimum temperature was recorded as 11 В°C. Although there is

The Epidemic Of Global Health
Global health is not a topic we often speak of. In fact, it is mostly forgotten or

you to find a topic that inspires you. Whether those inspirations be small donations or
large movements towards change, find something and let it move you. We overlook
the headlines in the news talking about mass genocides or rising HIV epidemics.
Why? Because numbers mean nothing to us. When choosing a topic, nothing is more
important than remembering that those numbers you are reading about are brothers,
sisters, mothers, fathers, people. Humanizing these sufferings leads to a connection
and empathy.

Sadly, this isn t the case, as every estate goes through the process, as it must be
determined who gets his or her assets. Debts must be paid, assets distributed and the
final wishes of the deceased respected, when possible. There are laws governing the
process, and they tend to be complex.
Probate1 works with individuals to ensure the process runs smoothly. Our firm

Estate planning addresses the distribution of assets prior to a person s death. With

are jointly owned or aren t of high value. Others, however, have estates that require
special consideration. This is true when there are children involved or the deceased

government authority were not easily separated. Before the time period of which
McDonald analyzes, the people of the future country, the United States, lived in
England, where the line between state and national government authority was clear.
McDonald mentions the Act of Settlement of 1701 where Parliament decided the plan
of succession, and he mentions how Parliament could not compromise when English
colonists who were settled in America questioned their right to tax or make laws for
the colonists.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Declaration of Independence is split up into three parts. The preamble states the
beginning and the purpose of the country, the government being put into place, and
how the government can be destroyed if necessary. The rather lengthy second part of
the Declaration is filled with accusations of the King of Great Britain of the time. The
actual declaration occurs in the third part of the document; in this part of the
document, the states are declared free and independent where they hold the power to
levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances... (10). Yet, the union itself can only do
these three acts. The country s issue of determining where the states and the union s
power ends and begins starts with the first document of the entire existence of the
United States. McDonald brings up the interesting point concerning War of 1812
again dealing where the authority of the government and the states lie. Many did not
agree with going to war in the beginning, and even the votes in the Senate and the
House were pretty divided. Those in the New England states protested and refused to
fight in the war. According to the Declaration of Independence, the states are
sovereign; yet, when the War of 1812 was on the horizon and without the approval
from Congress, Madison issued for one hundred thousand men in the militia to gather
and fight for the United States against the British. The people of the New England
were furious; even the governor of Massachusetts hindered
Archetypes In Ancient Greek Odyssey
Odyssey Report: Rough Draft
In Ancient Greek mythology there are many complex and intriguing archetypes, but
some were valued more than others. Archetypes were used often in stories from
Ancient Greece and in movies from the modern day. They are used extensively to
the point of being trite and clichГ©, but they always seem to work, almost as if we
feel like we share similarities with the character. All humans at some point
experience a sense of morality, like feeling bad for an ant you stepped on because it
had no way to defend itself. Since all humans experience this sense, would it not be
too far fetched to make characters act according to morals too? I will be explaining
three very different character archetypes in my essay: The Hero, The Innocent, and
The Antagonist. My topics are The Hero, The Innocent, and The Antagonist character
archetypes and the behaviors attributed to them.
Heros normally display qualities that most of us could only dream about, but the
skills Odyssey portrays aren t otherworldly or superhuman, they are cunning,
bravery, and honor. Odysseus s cunning is shown rather quickly with the escape
scene in The Cyclops where on page 571 and 572 it shows his ingenuity and
improvisational skills when he straps himself and his men to the bottom of
Polyphemus sheep and rams. This scene also shows his patience, which also is
collaborated with cunning by writers, with how he didn t panic when Polyphemus
stopped the ram he was hanging on because it was
Sexual Harassment In The Military
Introduction Sexual harassment still runs deep in today s military and is still a
major issue as we are well into the 21st century. More and more working Americans
face the problems of being victims of sexual harassment every day at work
environment. College students also have to deal with sexual harassment at the school
front from fellow students and college professors. Active duty militarymen and
women have to deal with sexual harassmentin the military service. Reports of sexual
harassment derive from slaves accusing slave owners of sexual harassment. Law
Professor Anita Hill accused Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment back in 1991.

Not only did the Israeli military have to worry about whether or not their female
military members could do the same job but also they had to deal with sexual
harassments happening from both their men and the men in the Arab army if the
women were ever captured. Israelis has always feared for their women who were
taken prisoners of war and the psychological effects that followed. (Lief, Second
Class in the Israeli Military , U.S. News World Report) Sexual harassments in the
military is happing at a rapped rate in the United States armed forces too and
according to an recent news article in the New Scientist more women in the
military have reported sexual assault by colleagues on deployment than men. Of
the nearly 4,000 members of the U.S. armed forces to report sexual harassment or
assault, 88% of them were women. (Grossman, The Right to Fight ) Even though
things are still being done to prevent things from happening there is no way that it
will completely stop sexual harassment or assault and since women are the ones
getting hurt by it the most they will continue to feel the effects psychologically and
physically by this. It is very possible for women to get harassed who are in potential
combat roles and for them to go into a fight with psychological issues will not to be

Descriptive Essay On Open Mic Night
We roam around the swamped streets of New York, arms numb from attaching
hundreds of posters onto different buildings. Initially, we had planned to tape
them only against the windows of random grocery stores and other small
businesses. It was my best friend, Fionn, however, who suggested that sticking
them on the lamp posts in the park, would also be a great idea. I obviously
complied, wanting to make sure there isn t a single area left untouched. Earlier this
morning, my friend, Mitch, requested a small favor from me. He said that if it isn t
a hassle at all, he d appreciate it if I strolled through the city while spreading the
posters he created. They advertised the open mic night he s hosting, and the time
everyone is expected to be present at. He would have done it himself, but he was
preoccupied with the bar making sure it was spotless and ready for tomorrow. Every
month, Mitch hosts an open mic night at the bar. It s the most anticipated event in
our small town often causing the bar to reach its maximum capacity in under an
hour. Many people, including myself, look forward to attending. It s astonishing to
witness how the bar instantly transforms from a place where people get blackout
drunk, to a place where anyone can stumble in and find a safe heaven. On this
particular night, locals are given an opportunity to share their passion with the world.
And I ve been fortunate enough to see it all from the emotional teenager reading their

Antimicrobial And Antioxidant Activities Of Leaves
The present study was carried out to evaluate the antimicrobial and antioxidant
activities of leaves of Elephantopus scaber by using different solvent (ethyl alcohol
,acetone and aqueous). The leaves extract from Elephantopus scaber using different
solvents to extract were evaluated for antioxidant activity by using DPPH method
using a different concentrations (1, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 100) Ојg/ml. The results
of this method was compared with ascorbic acidas standard. The IC50 value of
standard (ascorbic acid) was found to be 20 mg/ml. This study showed the strongest
DPPH radical scavenging activity of (52.54В±0.81)% inhibition at concentrationof 40
mg/ml, and IC50 value was 30 mg/ml was found the scavenging activity of
(44.92В±0.26)% for ethyl alcohol extract. Acetone extract of leaves was found at of
concentration 60 mg/ml scavenging activity of 53.26В±0.34%. The IC50 value of
aqueous extract of leaves was (60)Ојg/ml with percentage inhibition of
(54.28В±0.28)% followed by (44.57В±0.53)% at concentration 40 mg/ml.
Introduction
Elephantopus scaber L. (Elephant s foot) is an important medicinal plant which is
distributed worldwide in all tropical regions [1]. The whole plant (root, leaf and bark)
is used medicinally, because of the presence of sesquiterpene lactones,
deoxyelephantopin,isodeoxyelephantopin, scabertopin, stigmasterol,epifriedelinol,
lupeol and stigmasterol throughout the whole plant [2][3]. As per the traditional
system of medicine, it is reported that the

John Cage Research Paper
John Cage is a controversial composer. Some may say he revolutionized music
composition and changed music history of the 20th century, yet others do not even
acknowledge his compositional contributions as music. I believe John Cage was a
brilliant artist, and his works push the boundaries of both sound and musicto create a
genre of his own by using the elements of silence and chance. Through his
compositional development, one can track his changing music philosophy as it grew
from a limited notion of silence, to the enjoyment of the element of chance, to a
redefined meaning of silence that reaches beyond the grasp of most innovators still
today. In a recording of Cage s piece Seven2 one can hear a landscape created through
sporadic sound.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Juilliard Journal referred to John Cage s compositional experimentation as
transforming a familiar instrument into something enticingly alien. Cage began
experimenting with instruments early in his musical career by first altering pianos
with metal plates and screws before playing them. In the 1960 s Cage began a new
movement appropriately titled found Sound. ( John Cage: About the Composer ). He
used unconventional instruments such as handheld radios, water, and sea shells. He
was pushing the boundaries of music by claiming that sound is a form of music.
The randomness of it added an element of chance to these experiments, some
recordings could never be duplicated. What makes the music of John Cage easily
recognizable is it s unpredictability. The two well known pieces employing chance
operations are Imaginary Landscape No 4″ and Water Music. While I personally
find these pieces hard to listen to, Cage s philosophy regarding the role of chance
within music is an important development in the world of music history, for it led
to him furthering the definition of music. Music doesn t have to be written and
replicated specifically for it to be considered a fully composed and developed work.
Imaginary Landscape No 4, consisting of twelve radios played at once sounds
different every time based on the broadcasts playing, yet it is still a fully developed

The River Runs Through It Essay
Paul and Norman grew up in the same household, with the same values, but from
their fishing styles, to their jobs and educations, to their social lives, their differences
amount to those of night and day. While boys, young in age and mindsets, Paul and
Norman learned to fish from Mr. Maclean. This factor had vast significance because,
in this preacher s family, a clear line between fishing and religion had no presence.
Mr. Maclean taught his sons the conventional four count.
As Paul matured, he converted, from using the common four count, to something a
bit more innovative, shadow casting. The technique wasn t the only thing he altered.
He also caught fish for quality, which leaked with palpability when he told Norman

As far as his gambling goes, I never, even once saw Norman gamble. He didn t
drink very often either. Once, he went to see Paul at his office and seemed
disappointed in his brother s drinking early in the morning. This Norman s traditional
side, once again.
I have pondered the question, How can two people, who grew up with the same
parents, at the same time turn out so differently? I m not exactly sure as to why, but
I speculate it has to do with not just one, single, factor. I believe the answer lies in a
combination of birth order, looks, and the fact that separate people will act separately.
Whether it s in the way they fish, to the jobs they choose, to the friends and activities
they surround themselves with, different people will behave differently. Since
watching this movie, I have noticed that, as Americans, we look down on uniqueness,
yet embrace independence and freedom. I almost think this movie was made in order
to show the viewers the importance of
Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet
All of the Children of silence must be taught to sing their own song. This is one of
Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet s most famous quotes. Gallaudet lived a very normal
childhood and had a very eventful adult life. Gallaudet was a very intelligent child,
which led him be granted admission to Yale University at the age of 14. After
completing college, he met a young girl named Alice Cogswell. It was Alice that
ultimately helped him change the lives of all deaf and dumb people for years to
come, by starting the first school especially for them. Gallaudet had many health
problems during his life, though it never slowed him down. He suffered from
nightmares, nervous attacks , self inadequacy, and lung problems along his journey

He realized that his younger siblings would not play with her because she was
different . Gallaudet wanted to communicate with her. He wrote the word hat in
the dirt, in hopes she would understand, and she did. He was determined to find a
better way to communicate with her because writing in the dirt was not most
efficient. He met with Alice s father, Dr. Mason Cogswell, who offered to pay
Gallaudet s travel expenses to Europe in hope that he could learn a way to
communicate with Alice while he was there. While in Europe, he first lived with
the Braidwood family, who owned several deaf schools. Their style of teaching
was known as the oral way. The oral way of teaching is to teach the deaf students to
speak and read lips, but Gallaudet did not like that style. He then met Abbe Sicard,
who was the director of The Institute Royal Des Sourds Mutes in Paris, France. He
signed up to attend this school and found he loved their way of teaching, which was
the way of sign language. Unfortunately, after a year, he realized he did not have
enough money to attend any longer. He asked one of the students, Laurent Clerc, to
join him on the journey back to the United States, and Clerc agreed. Over time, Clerc
taught Gallaudet, further, how to sign, and Gallaudet taught Clerc, further, how to
speak English. In April of 1817, the first school for the deaf was opened by Gallaudet

It inspired me to make every moment something unique. You know, try and be

it shouldn t be because others want you to be that way.
Another example of a movie that has inspired me would have to be one of the
greatest movies of all time, and in that I mean Cool Hand Luke. This movie is a
movie I can watch time and time again. Paul Newman gives a hell of a
performance, playing Luke. The whole story of this rebellious inmate, part of a
southern chain gang, who goes against all rules was magnificent. He would try to
escape time and time again even after getting the shit kicked out of him, he would

did it just to prove them wrong, even though it made him violently ill. But the
scene that gave me that feeling of wow was when he was boxing one of the
inmates and he didn t fight back. He got the fuck knocked out him. And kept
standing right back up each time it became more difficult. But he kept on fighting to
get up until his opposition stopped fighting. This movie makes me wish I was more
like Luke, to be able to go against the rules and not care, to do what you

Instruction versus collaboration
Greg Chappell followed an instruction based coaching style, characterised by an
authoritarian, dogmatic, dictatorial, my way or the highway coaching style, whereas
Gary Kirsten followed a collaborative style, which is more participative and ranges
from democratic to laissez faire.
The overall results of a research(titled An Integral Approach to Coachingin Elite

between the coaches style and the players preferred style, with the players preferring
less instruction based coaching and more collaboration (Figure 1).

Performance Focus
A personal coaching focus has its primary focus on the individual as a person, with
their performance as the secondary focus, whilst a performance focus is primarily on
sporting performance/behaviour and/or actions, and secondarily on the individual
from whom the performance emanates.
When coaching for mental toughness in cricket, the focus must be extended to
include a personal focus, rather than focusing on performance alone. Gary Kirsten,
who represented South Africa in 101 test matches, sums this up; When you walk out
in a tight situation on the fifth day of a test match, what is tested is more the person
than his skills (Sunday Times, 2004).
Greg Chappell followed a rigid strategy. Chappell s critics felt that he lacked the
people skills and human touch that were so necessary for a coach to succeed. There
was also a feeling that Chappell was much too interested in preserving his own power
equation in the team. Also he was insensitive to the pertaining team culture. His
experimental approach ended up in disturbing the order and performance of the team
members.

Choas Theory In Biology Essay
Chaos In Biological Systems
In today s world of high tech methods to study just about anything that exists, we are
still imperfect. Scientists continue to look for ways to understand, explain, and even
predict the actions and reactions of the universe. In the last two centuries, scientists
have been looking in every possible place to understand the universe; from science, to
math, even religion. They have turned to mathematicians and their strange theories of
determinism and predictability. This search to understand the universe has spawned
several new areas of science; there are now scientists devoted solely to the research of
mere theories, such as chaos theorists.
In the twentieth century, a new area of scientific study has been ... Show more content

As one can imagine, this is impossible. Because it is so difficult to make this idea
neat and clean, scientists try even harder to do so. Most ecologists believe that by
being able to understand and predict a biological system, we can foretell how fast
and large any given population of organisms will grow and expand (Clarke 1 19).
In the 1970 s, scientists also developed another science, called Chaos Theory. This is
theory that attempts to explain how and why the universe is deterministic yet
unpredictable. This means that in most systems, scientists can foretell what should
happen, but not to what extent changes will continue. Chaos Theory is a very strange
and misleading science. Many people take it to believe that chaos means total
disorder, whereas in the science, it has a totally different meaning. Some people
believe that the entire purpose of such a science is simply to explain our own
inabilities to understand. Understand what? Anything and everything in this universe,
this includes weather, astronomy, and how a raindrop will roll down a leaf. Scientists
use this science to explain planetary motion, pendulums, and many other moving
objects. Using this newfound science of Chaos, ecologists were able to make
mathematical models to represent a biological system. For instance, using a certain
mathematical formula, we ll say nnext= F (x), ecologists could make a graphical
representation of a population and its fluctuations

Why Is Paul Revere Important
The person I chose for my topic, who is the well known silver/goldsmith, Paul
Revere, is quite important to understanding the American Revolutionary War. Revere
is considered by some to be the kick starter of this revolution (Paul Revere, Columbia
Electronic Encyclopedia.), so essentially, if you are able to understand him, you are
able to understand the American Revolution. In the following essay, I will explain to
you who Paul Revere is, and his importance. Revere was born around the time of
December 21, 1734, to January of 1735, which is relatively close. In his early
years, before his famous ride, he worked for his father to help support his rather
large family. As time passed, he grew up, and British Reprimands changed as well,

(Biography.com.) It was a brisk night that had indirectly been prepared for a while.
A messenger that the redcoats were coming informed Revere, and within moments
he was knocking on Dr. Joseph Warrens door. Warren then informed Revere of the
British numbers, being 700 1000. After this talk with Warren, Revere set off to
find Robert Newman who was sexton of the church, and told him if the British are
coming by land to hang one lantern in the steeple of the Old North Church, and
two if they were coming by sea. When Revere saw the signal of two lanterns
hanging, he quickly went to Charles River, where he boated past the British in
stealth mode, landing in Charlestown. Revere rode through Charlestown to
Lexington warning the Minutemen (David, Lester. The story behind Paul Revere
s Famous ride. Boy s life,) whom were the colonists packing artillery if this
situation were to occur. It was said for many years Revere yelled, The British are
coming! which was incorrect. Quoting a very wise Dr. Keefer, it would not make
sense taking into account that Paul himself was British. Therefore it was
determined he shouted, The Regulars are out! When Revere finally reached
Lexington, Bill Dawes and Dr. Samuel Prescott joined in his ride. Along the way to
Concord, a British officer stopped them, in which Revere was captured, but
Prescott Dawes were able to escape. However, it was too late. Revere was able to
escape, and he had heard firing in which the American Revolutionary War had just
begun. (David, Lester. The story behind Paul Revere s Famous ride. Boy s
Cain s Weaknesses In The Story Of Cain
Cain expresses various weaknesses and strengths throughout the story of himself
and his brother. Within the story, his weaknesses seemed to overpower the
significance of the strengths. The one attribute that stood out the most on each
side of the spectrum was his love to please God and his jealousy created by not
receiving the same love from God. I believe that it is significant that Cain s
weaknesses are shown in the story. It proves a case where most humans can find
relatable and tell of a similar experience, granted that they are not banished and have
to live out a life of suffering. Out of all the characters from the Hebrew Bible, the
noblest seemed to be Noah. This is because of his legendary actions of saving two of

However, if ISOL delivery time were to be reduced to 48 hours then there would
have to be an increase in inventory, and the production per order would no longer be
possible given the manufacturing time required (Dornier, Ernst, and Fender,
1998). Both of Mr. Dupont s proposals would cause an increase in ISOL s logistic
budget. With the increasing of ISOL s logistics budget, it would be in the best
interest of ISOL to put both of Mr. Dupont s proposals on hold. After evaluating the
situation of logistics, to meet the increase in production, it will be best for ISOL to
set up a new manufacturing facility in southern France because both markets are
relatively close to the southern markets. Reducing the quantities that a customer can
order will increase ISOL costs because 98% of ISOL customers throughout the
countries make orders for at least a full truckload, which are eight pallets (Dornier,
Ernst, and Fender, 1998). However, if ISOL implements Mr. Dupont s
recommendations, its customers will start ordering smaller sizes, and this will
increase the logistics cost. With the idea of cutting the delivery time to 48 hours, this
will increase its inventory cost because ISOL will need more inventory on hand.
With the current delivery time between one or two weeks, allows the plant to not have

Roi1 is also known as rough eye and it is a dominant mutation which causes
abnormal patterns and genomic inversions in the D.melanogaster eye (Chanut et
al. 2002). The recombination map location of the Roi1 is 2 54.7. The gl3 is an
allele and the Gl1 is a protein for the gl gene, also known as glass, both are located
at 3 63.1. The gl gene is known to reduce the size of the adult D. melanogaster eye.
Even though the gl3 is a weak allele for the glass gene it produces a really
pigmented eye ( Ma et al. 1996). The rh1 gene is known as rhodopsin; the
recombination map location is at 3.66.4. Rh1 causes degeneration of the D.
melanogaster retina (Kristaponyete et al. 2012). Rho1 also known as the rhomboid
gene, is closely related to the roughed (ru); which happens to be a recessive eye

Health Behaviors Is Not Always Motivated By Disease...
By simply taking a few small steps and trying to change health behaviours this could
have crucial impact on mortality and enhance life. 50 per cent of mortality from the
ten principal causes of death is because of behaviour. Therefore it is very important to
understand how and what helps people change healthbehaviours, taking the right
steps to change could be as simple as wearing a SPF when out in the sun to reduce
risks of cancer (Mark P. Zanna, 2011). A health behaviour can be categorised as an
action taken place by a person believing that they are doing so to prevent disease
according to Karl and Cobb (1966). A general assumption is that behaviour is
motivated by the goal of health however not always is this the case. Change in...

In society today around half of all deaths are connected to behavioural and lifestyle
aspects, such as smoking, unhealthy diets, lack of physical activity and large
consumptions of alcohol. Therefore in 2010 a political group starting at 10 Downing
Street as the world s very first organisation devoted to the application of behavioural
sciences. The organisation was set up to ensure that people could have better life
choices and change certain aspects of their life to try and improve health and
wellbeing. The BIT team use tactics to make many services more affordable and
convenient for every citizen. Many ideas that are formed are from behavioural
science literature where testing s and trials are used to ensure that their discovery s
work (Behavioural Insights Team, 2014).The role of the team is to reflect in different
ways real life situations and to show how people truly behave, rather than how people
intend to behave. In 2011 the insight team collaborated with boots the pharmacy
introducing a smoking cessation hoping to motivate individuals to give up the habit.
Therefore this organisation try and tackle the problem of bad health through
environmental factors, not only psychological factors through interventions. By
producing posters, looking at the prices trying to target the
How Technology Has Made Brick And Mortar Markets
We have grown into a world filled with a tremendous amounts of technology. The
rapid growth in technology has made brick and mortar markets either start to
wither away or it has forced companies to develop their own e commerce branch of
their company to help them stay in the race with the advancement in technology. An
example that stands out to me is the well known retail store Target. Target has not
only created a way for their customers to buy products on line, but they have also
developed an application for their frequent shoppers, a debit card for Target lovers
that want to save 5% instantly, and recently an online service to order products for
pick up in store. Before explaining all the e commerce innovations that Target has
launched throughout the recent years, I believe a brief history of Target is necessary.
Target was actually created by the owner of Dayton s department store, George
Draper Dayton, who in 1962 decided that he wanted to transform his well known
family run department stores into one of the nation s largest discount store chains.
Dayton believed this would demonstrate the visionary leadership that the company
wanted. The leaders of the idea came together to create the name of the store and the
logo. They opened their first store in Roseville, Minnesota in 1962 and then kept
constructing new stores all around the US. Target s first distribution center went up in
Fridley, Minnesota in the year 1969. Their first major development in advertising was

proceeded from a savage ancient past to the civilization of the present (Lewis,

Bilingualism Essay.pdf

  • 1. Bilingualism Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of bilingualism is a task that demands a nuanced understanding of the topic and a comprehensive exploration of various facets. The complexity arises from the need to delve into linguistic, cognitive, socio-cultural, and educational dimensions associated with bilingualism. To present a well-rounded perspective, one must consider both the advantages and challenges posed by bilingualism, addressing topics such as cognitive benefits, language acquisition, cultural identity, and potential hurdles in language development. Navigating through the vast body of research on bilingualism, one must synthesize information from linguistics, psychology, and education. Incorporating studies that span different age groups, socio-economic backgrounds, and language combinations adds an additional layer of intricacy. Striking a balance between scholarly insights and real-world applications is essential to make the essay relevant and engaging. The challenge lies not only in presenting factual information but also in weaving a coherent narrative that captivates the reader's attention. Addressing potential counterarguments and acknowledging the ongoing debates within the field of bilingualism further complicates the writing process. Maintaining a clear structure while juggling multifaceted aspects of the topic requires careful planning and execution. Moreover, language proficiency plays a crucial role. Writing about bilingualism demands a command of language that extends beyond the surface level. The ability to articulate thoughts, theories, and analyses in a concise and eloquent manner is paramount. Balancing a scholarly tone with accessibility is vital to cater to a diverse audience. In conclusion, tackling a bilingualism essay involves navigating through a labyrinth of linguistic, cognitive, and socio-cultural intricacies. The writer must carefully synthesize a vast array of information while maintaining clarity and coherence in expression. Despite the challenges, a well-crafted essay on bilingualism can provide valuable insights into the complexities of language and culture. • 2. En ese rollo encontramos a Oseas¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬, Joel, Amos, AbdГas, JonГЎs, Miqueas, NahГєm, Habacuc, SofonГas, Hageo, ZacarГas y MalaquГas.

It is a well known fact that diabetes can affect the functioning of the heart, kidneys, eyes and nerves but few people realize that diabetes can also lead to dental problems especially in those who are past 45 years of age. In many cases dental problems in diabetics can lead to loss of teeth. This situation can be prevented to a great extent by becoming aware of the various dental problems caused by diabetes and taking timely preventive steps to avoid them. The main causes of dental problems are lack of proper dental hygiene and heredity. Diabetes only increases the risk of periodontal diseases and aggravates the effects of these causative factors. The problem with diabetics is that their bodies do not process sugar adequately resulting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It can be done by following the glycemic index diligently. This is very important because studies have shown that people with poor control over their blood sugar levels suffer from gum disease more easily and frequently and they are likely to lose more teeth than people with good control over their blood sugar levels. Even children with insulin dependent diabetes are more at risk from gum problems. Therefore the best defense against periodontal disease is good diabetic control. In view of increased risk of dental problems people suffering from diabetes should also avoid situations that increase the risk even further like smoking and alcohol consumption. Dental and oral hygiene like regular brushing, flossing and regular visits to the dentist are a must. How to get the right dental aid products. When it comes to dental whitening products (and many other things), people often make the mistake of assuming that simply because it s natural or derived from an organic source that it is somehow safe. Salicylate a natural plant based hormone derived from white willow and meadowsweet has been used for centuries for its anti septic and fever reducing properties, but it can be harmful in large doses, and even fatal to those who are allergic to it. Dental products such as salicylate free toothpaste and dental whitening products are safer and more appropriate to such

Pros And Cons Of Repeal Obamacare Summary: The Republicans first priority with Trump becoming the new president is to repeal Obamacare and to start the process by developing a reconciliation bill and to take a final vote in the beginning of February. Although, many Democratic lawmakers in Washington, DC are still trying to slow the process as much as possible by proposing many amendments to the table. Furthermore, Republican Senate Budget Committee chairman Mike Enzi suggests that the program has caused more harm than good by causing many businesses across the country to withdraw from the market and to leave many families with much less options than before to obtain the care that they need. In Conclusion, the result of repealing Obamacare will cause the elimination of fundings
  • 5. Best Practice Wireless Case Study Best Practice Wireless *** I was not sure what you were asking with this question, so I did the best that I could to answer this question. *** The best practice wireless at the present time depends on the network needs of an organization. There is no best practice wireless at the present time, as there are four main recommendations that are based on the network need required by an organization. The recommendations are divided into four categories that are based on the network traffic needs. The four categories are low traffic needs, moderate traffic needs, high traffic needs, and very high traffic needs. Each category will be discussed in more detail: for low traffic needs 64 Kbps or less the recommendation is to go with VPN if the reliability is less important, otherwise frame relay would be the best recommendation. For moderate traffic needs 64 Kbps to 2 Mbps the recommendation is to go with VPN if the reliability is not as important, however T1 or fractional T1 is best if ... In The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, a book written by Mordecai Richler, women are represented as if they are of a lower status and importance than men. These female characters include Yvette Durelle, Minnie Kravitz, Ida Kravitz, Linda Rubin, and Sandra Calder. Each of these female characters are in possession of negative attributes; ranging from helplessness, to deceitfulness, and all the way up to inanimateness. Minnie Kravitz is the mother of Duddy Kravitz. Because she passed away while Duddy was still young, the establishment of a mother son relationship was prevented. At first, Duddy and Yvette shared a stable relationship with one another, and enjoyed each other s company. However, after Yvette took Duddy down to a somewhat desolate beach, Duddy becomes obsessed with the beach as he believes that this is the land that he will soon own. At this point, Duddy begins to centralize his goals solely on owning the land, and begins using Yvette as a tool to attain it. Because Yvette is of legal age and has a French Canadian background, the farmers wouldn t be reluctant to refuse or sell her the land as they would be with a young Jew. In addition to Yvette being used as a device for acquiring land, she is also used as a device of Duddy s sexual pleasure. Duddy treats her as an object, and nearly forces her into having sex with him whenever he feels the need to. He also tells her that if he were to impregnate her, he would simply get his brother, Lennie, to perform an abortion on her. This was not the only time when he directly communicates a demeaning comment towards Yvette, as Duddy frequently addresses Yvette as his Girl Friday throughout the novel. It is unfortunate how Yvette knows about how she is being used by Duddy, however fails to abandon him right there and then. The relationship Duddy s uncle, Benjamin, has with his wife, Ida, is antithetical to the relationship Duddy has with Yvette. In Duddy s

  • 9. The Conflicts Of Characterization In SophoclesAntigone On the surface of Sophocles Antigone, readers may assume the conflict between King Creon and Antigone, related to Polynices burial, is trivial. However, upon closer examination, the dispute between the characters delve deeper into the conflict between the laws of heaven and the laws of men. Despite standing on opposing sides of the argument, the conflict highlights similar characteristics between the two. Sophoclesexplores this type of human behavior in Antigone, through the use of indirect characterization, to show that when individuals with differing beliefs face one another, conflict emerges as a result of similar minds. Sophocles initially utilizes indirect characterization to highlight self centered qualities between King Creon and Antigone when encountering other characters. After Ismene denies Antigone s proposal of burying Polynices, Antigone states, [Share] To all the world! Else I shall hate you more (Sophocles 129). Here, the playwright s approach of indirect characterization is to label Antigone as a narcissistic character by implementing a negative speech, revealing how those who do not share her beliefs are against her. Sophocles continues to utilize the word hate to acknowledge how Antigone detaches herself from her sister, regardless of the fact that Ismene is only trying to save her from death. Additionally, this human nature is further emphasized through the voice of King Creon when Haemon pleads to reason with him to not execute Antigone.

Before the time period of which McDonald analyzes, the people of the future country, the United States, lived in England, where the line between state and national government authority was clear. The preamble states the beginning and the purpose of the country, the government being put into place, and how the government can be destroyed if necessary. The actual declaration occurs in the third part of the document; in this part of the document, the states are declared free and independent where they hold the power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances... Archetypes were used often in stories from Ancient Greece and in movies from the modern day. They are used extensively to the point of being trite and clichГ©, but they always seem to work, almost as if we feel like we share similarities with the character. All humans at some point experience a sense of morality, like feeling bad for an ant you stepped on because it had no way to defend itself. I believe John Cage was a brilliant artist, and his works push the boundaries of both sound and musicto create a genre of his own by using the elements of silence and chance. Through his compositional development, one can track his changing music philosophy as it grew from a limited notion of silence, to the enjoyment of the element of chance, to a redefined meaning of silence that reaches beyond the grasp of most innovators still today. In a recording of Cage s piece Seven2 one can hear a landscape created through sporadic sound.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Juilliard Journal referred to John Cage s compositional experimentation as transforming a familiar instrument into something enticingly alien. Cage began experimenting with instruments early in his musical career by first altering pianos with metal plates and screws before playing them. In the 1960 s Cage began a new movement appropriately titled found Sound. ( John Cage: About the Composer ). He used unconventional instruments such as handheld radios, water, and sea shells. He was pushing the boundaries of music by claiming that sound is a form of music. The randomness of it added an element of chance to these experiments, some recordings could never be duplicated. What makes the music of John Cage easily recognizable is it s unpredictability. The two well known pieces employing chance operations are Imaginary Landscape No 4″ and Water Music. While I personally find these pieces hard to listen to, Cage s philosophy regarding the role of chance within music is an important development in the world of music history, for it led to him furthering the definition of music. Music doesn t have to be written and replicated specifically for it to be considered a fully composed and developed work. Imaginary Landscape No 4, consisting of twelve radios played at once sounds different every time based on the broadcasts playing, yet it is still a fully developed musical

The River Runs Through It Essay Paul and Norman grew up in the same household, with the same values, but from their fishing styles, to their jobs and educations, to their social lives, their differences amount to those of night and day. While boys, young in age and mindsets, Paul and Norman learned to fish from Mr. Maclean. This factor had vast significance because, in this preacher s family, a clear line between fishing and religion had no presence. Mr. Maclean taught his sons the conventional four count. As Paul matured, he converted, from using the common four count, to something a bit more innovative, shadow casting. The technique wasn t the only thing he altered. I have pondered the question, How can two people, who grew up with the same parents, at the same time turn out so differently? I m not exactly sure as to why, but I speculate it has to do with not just one, single, factor. I believe the answer lies in a combination of birth order, looks, and the fact that separate people will act separately. Whether it s in the way they fish, to the jobs they choose, to the friends and activities they surround themselves with, different people will behave differently. Since watching this movie, I have noticed that, as Americans, we look down on uniqueness, yet embrace independence and freedom. I almost think this movie was made in order to show the viewers the importance of

Gallaudet lived a very normal childhood and had a very eventful adult life. Gallaudet was a very intelligent child, which led him be granted admission to Yale University at the age of 14. After completing college, he met a young girl named Alice Cogswell. It was Alice that ultimately helped him change the lives of all deaf and dumb people for years to come, by starting the first school especially for them. He wrote the word hat in the dirt, in hopes she would understand, and she did. He was determined to find a better way to communicate with her because writing in the dirt was not most efficient. He met with Alice s father, Dr. Mason Cogswell, who offered to pay Gallaudet s travel expenses to Europe in hope that he could learn a way to communicate with Alice while he was there. While in Europe, he first lived with the Braidwood family, who owned several deaf schools. Their style of teaching was known as the oral way. The oral way of teaching is to teach the deaf students to speak and read lips, but Gallaudet did not like that style. He then met Abbe Sicard, who was the director of The Institute Royal Des Sourds Mutes in Paris, France. He signed up to attend this school and found he loved their way of teaching, which was the way of sign language. Unfortunately, after a year, he realized he did not have enough money to attend any longer. He asked one of the students, Laurent Clerc, to join him on the journey back to the United States, and Clerc agreed. Over time, Clerc taught Gallaudet, further, how to sign, and Gallaudet taught Clerc, further, how to speak English. In April of 1817, the first school for the deaf was opened by Gallaudet and

Paul Newman gives a hell of a performance, playing Luke. The whole story of this rebellious inmate, part of a southern chain gang, who goes against all rules was magnificent. He would try to escape time and time again even after getting the shit kicked out of him, he would do it again and again. Someone bet him that he couldn t eat 50 eggs in an hour. He did it just to prove them wrong, even though it made him violently ill. But the scene that gave me that feeling of wow was when he was boxing one of the inmates and he didn t fight back. When coaching for mental toughness in cricket, the focus must be extended to include a personal focus, rather than focusing on performance alone. Gary Kirsten, who represented South Africa in 101 test matches, sums this up; When you walk out in a tight situation on the fifth day of a test match, what is tested is more the person than his skills (Sunday Times, 2004). Greg Chappell followed a rigid strategy. Chappell s critics felt that he lacked the people skills and human touch that were so necessary for a coach to succeed. There was also a feeling that Chappell was much too interested in preserving his own power equation in the team. Also he was insensitive to the pertaining team culture. His experimental approach ended up in disturbing the order and performance of the team members. Good Coaching vs. Bad

Scientists continue to look for ways to understand, explain, and even predict the actions and reactions of the universe. In the last two centuries, scientists have been looking in every possible place to understand the universe; from science, to math, even religion. They have turned to mathematicians and their strange theories of determinism and predictability. This search to understand the universe has spawned several new areas of science; there are now scientists devoted solely to the research of mere theories, such as chaos theorists. In the twentieth century, a new area of scientific study has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As one can imagine, this is impossible. Because it is so difficult to make this idea neat and clean, scientists try even harder to do so. Most ecologists believe that by being able to understand and predict a biological system, we can foretell how fast and large any given population of organisms will grow and expand (Clarke 1 19). In the 1970 s, scientists also developed another science, called Chaos Theory. This is theory that attempts to explain how and why the universe is deterministic yet unpredictable. This means that in most systems, scientists can foretell what should happen, but not to what extent changes will continue. Chaos Theory is a very strange and misleading science. Many people take it to believe that chaos means total disorder, whereas in the science, it has a totally different meaning. Some people believe that the entire purpose of such a science is simply to explain our own inabilities to understand. Understand what? Anything and everything in this universe, this includes weather, astronomy, and how a raindrop will roll down a leaf. Scientists use this science to explain planetary motion, pendulums, and many other moving objects. Using this newfound science of Chaos, ecologists were able to make mathematical models to represent a biological system. For instance, using a certain mathematical formula, we ll say nnext= F (x), ecologists could make a graphical representation of a population and its fluctuations

Warren then informed Revere of the British numbers, being 700 1000. After this talk with Warren, Revere set off to find Robert Newman who was sexton of the church, and told him if the British are coming by land to hang one lantern in the steeple of the Old North Church, and two if they were coming by sea. When Revere saw the signal of two lanterns hanging, he quickly went to Charles River, where he boated past the British in stealth mode, landing in Charlestown. Revere rode through Charlestown to Lexington warning the Minutemen (David, Lester. The story behind Paul Revere s Famous ride. Boy s life,) whom were the colonists packing artillery if this situation were to occur. It was said for many years Revere yelled, The British are coming! which was incorrect. Quoting a very wise Dr. Keefer, it would not make sense taking into account that Paul himself was British. Therefore it was determined he shouted, The Regulars are out! When Revere finally reached Lexington, Bill Dawes and Dr. Samuel Prescott joined in his ride. Along the way to Concord, a British officer stopped them, in which Revere was captured, but Prescott Dawes were able to escape. However, it was too late. Revere was able to escape, and he had heard firing in which the American Revolutionary War had just begun. (David, Lester. The story behind Paul Revere s Famous ride. Boy s

However, if ISOL delivery time were to be reduced to 48 hours then there would have to be an increase in inventory, and the production per order would no longer be possible given the manufacturing time required (Dornier, Ernst, and Fender, 1998). Both of Mr. Dupont s proposals would cause an increase in ISOL s logistic budget. With the increasing of ISOL s logistics budget, it would be in the best interest of ISOL to put both of Mr. Dupont s proposals on hold. After evaluating the situation of logistics, to meet the increase in production, it will be best for ISOL to set up a new manufacturing facility in southern France because both markets are relatively close to the southern markets. Reducing the quantities that a customer can order will increase ISOL costs because 98% of ISOL customers throughout the countries make orders for at least a full truckload, which are eight pallets (Dornier, Ernst, and Fender, 1998). However, if ISOL implements Mr. Dupont s recommendations, its customers will start ordering smaller sizes, and this will increase the logistics cost. With the idea of cutting the delivery time to 48 hours, this will increase its inventory cost because ISOL will need more inventory on hand. With the current delivery time between one or two weeks, allows the plant to not have
