The aim of this paper is to gain information and knowledge about health disparities.
The objectives are to understand what is a disparity, to determine if in fact there are
health disparities, to learn who are the target of disparities, to recognize how does a
disparity affect the target, and most importantly to assess how can a disparity be
eliminated. In addition, this paper will narrow its research to a specific minority: The
American Indian elderly population.
For this paper and hereinafter health disparity is defined as a particular type of health
difference that is closely linked with social, economic, and/or environmental
disadvantage. Health disparities adversely affect groups of people who have
systematically experienced greater obstacles to health based on their racial or ethnic
group; religion; socioeconomic status; gender; age; mental health; cognitive, sensory,
or physical disability; sexual orientation or gender identity; geographic location; or
other characteristics historically linked to discrimination or exclusion.

Flowers for Algernon Essay by Matthew Duran In Flowers for Algernon, numerous
themes appear throughout Charlie Gordon s journey. Charlie Gordon, the story s
protagonist, is considered to be used as a test subject for an original experiment that
can potentially change the face of science. After many tests, Charlie undergoes an
operation, as a result, a slow progression begins in his overall intelligence levels.
In the excerpt Flowers for Algernon written by Daniel Keyes, the theme conveyed is
that people should try to modify nature s course for the benefit of science. Daniel
Keyes first expresses this by the characters dialogue, at first when Charlie spoke,
he was lost, he spoke with no emotion and did not truly nor fully understand the

The premises of Pascal s Wager start with the statement that God either exists or
does not exist. This is true because there is no way to rational prove either the
existence or nonexistence of God. The next premise is that if one wagers that God

of optimal parameters of a PID controller in an Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)
system by the approach of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Differential
Evolution (DE) Techniques is presented. This paper demonstrated in detail how to
employ the PSO and DE methods to search efficiently the optimal PID controller
parameters of an AVR system. A MATLAB simulation has been performed. The
proposed approach had superior features, including easy implementation, stable
convergence characteristic, and good computational efficiency. In order to assist
estimating the performance of the PID controller using PSO and DE, Minimum
Error Integral (MEI) criterion Integral Absolute Error (IAE), Integral Square Error
(ISE), Integral Time Absolute Error (ITAE) and Integral Time Square Error (ITSE)
are used.

people, in Canada a year, who identify as homeless or acknowledged their position
in life as homeless. 35,000 people, in Canada, are homeless on any given night. This
statistic is not just of white, men, (which seem to be the overrepresented image in
media) but rather is made up of people from every ethnicity, age group, gender,
background, and sexual orientation. With upwards of 6 7% of the population of
Canada having to live in homelessness a year, you would think that their issues would
be further directed to the public eye, however this couldn t be further from the ...
No this project will not be catering to the disenfranchised invisible population of
Canada, but rather the metaphorical invisibility of homelessness. Many of these
people are largely ignored and are treated like subhuman s because of their state of
life and end up feeling like they are invisible in the eyes of the community around
them. This project will be an event taking place across the span of a month and will
be stationed at any shelters that would be willing to allow space and time for this
project. This project will be taking place in shelters across Windsor, Ontario and
such will bring more awareness to these locations. Not only will this open the
public s eyes to the problem, but would also give them an easy means to help by
