The Concepts Of Microeconomics While At San Pasqual High...
Students at San Pasqual High School created a music video outlining the major concepts of
microeconomics while at the same time relating each lesson to the real world, albeit in a humorous
manner. The application of these ideas in the video ranged from determining the price of gas to
finding a dance partner. The concepts addressed by the students including market structures,
government intervention, elasticity, and scarcity, that all hold value in everyday life and an
understanding of their importance can contribute significant benefits to the power of the consumer
within the market. To begin, one of the first concepts introduced by the video was that of market
structures. Market structures are categorized as a result of variables that... Show more content on

As a consumer, knowledge of the various market structures allows for the understanding of the
motivations and decisions made by certain firms, and can assist in the making of calculated
purchases. For instance, the student in the video hypothesized that gas prices were rising
because multiple gas firms within an oligopoly were colluding and artificially raising prices.
With this information, one can choose to take their purchase to another firm who does not
appear to be colluding and purchase a substitute good for a cheaper price. If enough consumers
are aware of the strategies utilized by firms within markets structures such as monopolies and
oligopolies, action can be taken in order to prevent costs of goods from reaching levels that only
benefit producers. The power that each consumer s purchase holds is often underestimated, and
if used wisely, can help to create a market that fosters innovation and rewards firms with fair
prices. The next major topic the video focused upon was elasticity. Elasticity is a measure of
how sensitive producers and consumers to changes in price of a good or a service. If a good
/service is elastic, willingness to purchase changes significantly with a small change in price.
Conversely, if a good/service is inelastic, the market does not react very much in response to a
change in price. The concept of elasticity was introduced in the music video when a student was
attempting to get away

To what extent were Enlightenment ideas responsible for the outbreak of the French Revolution
and the reforms of 1789? Included sources attached: John Locke, Two Treatises on Government ,
1690; The Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizens, 1789; Arthur Young Travels in
France during the Years 1787, 1788, 1789 The ancien rГ©gime, the time before the outbreak of
the revolution, was divided into three estates. The first estate, for the people of the highest
position in France belonged to the clergy; this group contained the members of the religious rules
such as Bishops, Monks and Nuns. However, the people of this estate were not popular among
many people of especially the third estate. This was mainly because of the power... Show more

John Locke, an English philosopher, also known as the father of Classical Liberalism, said in
1690 from Two Treatises on Government ; [On the state of nature] To understand political power
aright, and derive it from its original, we must consider what estate all men are naturally in, and
that is, a state of perfect freedom to order their actions, and dispose of their possessions and
persons as they think fit, within the bounds of the law of Nature, without asking leave or
depending upon the will of any other man (...) We derive from this that men are all equal and we
should not expect political power to be understood right if we do not realize that men are equal in
all Estates. With Estates, the laws of nature won t be heard and it is not naturally human to build up
Estates in a country. This excerpt also has a lot to do with the rights of men and especially the
Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen. This will be discussed later on in the Essay. The birth of
the Enlightenment happened during the 18th Century and it emerged from Europe as an
intellectual movement of writers and thinkers questioning and challenging the ideas and views that
at the time was widely accepted. Especially the Catholic Church was challenged for its traditional
and determined values. Their analysis of society was based on reason and rational thoughts rather
than superstition and traditional ways. The movement

The Last Jedi Poster Analysis
Star Wars: The Last Jedi has yet another promotional item that goes in a vaguely familiar direction
for these sorts of things.
While Star Wars News Net may have decided to focus on what s new in the latest promotional
item for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we here at Culturess noticed something different: that this
reminds us, in a number of ways, of pieces we ve seen before in the realm of Star Warsmarketing
tools.
First off, Luke Skywalker is occupying a very similar position to the one Darth Vaderdoes in this
well known poster from The Empire Strikes Back. In fact, The Last Jedi even has the same
concept of two visual masses at the center, just reversed in which one s larger and more prominent.
For Empire, it s Han and Leia to the right; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, check out this poster from Attack of the Clones. There s another use of both orange
and red. Last Jedi certainly skews more reddish orange, but also borrows the idea of a blue
lightsaber illuminating part of a main character s face in this case, it s Rey again, and Obi Wan on
Attack of the Clones.
Third, Revenge of the Sith actually combines both of these ideas: the palette as well as the looming
presence in the upper left.
Fourth, to talk about the droids (again), it s good to see that R2 D2 is on the right and C 3PO is on
the left. That one goes all the way back to A New Hope ... er, Star Wars.
There are some other points to note as well. Kylo Ren s expression here is particularly intriguing it
s very obviously conflicted. That s something that not even Anakin ever managed on any of the
posters he features in. Not even any of the Revenge of the Sith or The Phantom Menace pieces
really come close to capturing such emotion.
Look to the right of Kylo Ren as well. Although it doesn t seem like there are actually two suns, a
brief glance might make one think that there are. Look behind both the X Wings and the TIE
Fighters, and you might see what, given the colors used, almost looks like a binary sunset. That s
the kind of callback we like to

Jack Capone Biography
The Capone s moved to the Park Slope neighborhood in Brooklyn, and Al Capone came in
contact with his mentor, Johnny Torrio. Torrio was the business leader of many gambling
operations and the leader of the Five Pointers Street Gang. Capone was greatly influenced by
Torrio and became very close to him. In 1909, Torrio left Brooklyn and moved to Chicago. This
did not hinder Capone and Torrio s communication. Although, Capone disconnected from the
street gangs, and instead he had the jobs working in a munitions factory and as a paper cutter.
Capone s everyday jobs ended in 1917, when Torrio introduced Capone to Frankie Yale, a
gangster in Brooklyn. Frankie Yale employed Capone as a bartender and bouncer at the Harvard
Inn. During Capone s time as a bartender, he received the nickname Scarface . This nickname,
which he extremely disliked, came about when he got in a fight at the bar and received two
scars on his left check. (Kennedy, Adrienne A., Salem Press Biographical Encyclopedia, January,
2016) In 1918, Capone had a child, Albert Francis Capone, and married his wife, Mae Coughlin.

Capone s experience as a bookkeeper was extremely beneficial for the illegal business. When the

operations included speakeasies, casinos, breweries, brothels, and nightclubs (Kennedy, Adrienne
A., Salem Press Biographical Encyclopedia, January, 2016). Unlike Torrio, Capone was not a
discrete man and had a carless attitude with a reputation as a drunk. His first arrest occurred when
he hit a parked taxi cab while drinking under the influence (history.com, Al Capone). Torrio was
able to get the charges dropped through his government connections, and Capone cleaned up his act

Disadvantages Of Weed Infestation
Weed infestation has been known to cause substantial reductions in crop yields thereby obstructing
sustainable agriculture (Ayeni et al., 2013). Weed competition was identified by Mbanje et al.
(2001) as the most important factor for yield reduction in both commercial and communal farming
in Zimbabwe. Weeds threat had forced farmers to use synthetic herbicides which have detrimental
effects on the environment. Synthetic herbicides are also expensive and are not readily available
for communal farmers use. Chemical and mechanical weed management reduce profitability in crop
production since these methods are expensive. Recent efforts are being intensified on finding
alternative strategies for weed management. The need for safe food production has developed
steadily over the years as a result of consciousness about food quality and environmental concerns
regarding agrochemicals used in agriculture. Such efforts include the use of allelochemicals which
are believed to be much safer than synthetic herbicides. Crops/plants release chemicals i.e
allelochemicals which could be utilized for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chemical and mechanical weed control methods are associated with many disadvantages. There is
need to improve the cultural methods of weed management such as the use of allelopathy. Sorghum
has allelopathic properties which reduce weed germination and growth but is not known whether
different varieties produce different levels of allelochemicals. Knowing sorghum varieties with best
allelepathic effects on the common weeds will help in reducing weed problems in Zimbabwe. Local
studies have not shown the extent to which sorghum allelopathy can suppress germination and
growth of Acanthospermum hispidum and Elusine Indica. The extent to which soil type affects
allelopathic weed control has not been shown by local

Afterlife In The Odyssey
Afterlife
People are always questioning whether Hell and Heaven are real or not. The thought of an
afterlife is something every human thinks about. In Core 3 we read many books, one being Virgil
s The Aeneid, and another being Homer s The Odyssey. Both books have to do with men
attempting to complete a journey. Both books involve the Trojan War and journeys across roaring
seas. During each book, the men enter the afterlife with a guide to help them through Hell, and each
author gives their own thoughts depicting how it might appear. This year in Core 4 we read Dante
s Inferno, a book about Dante going to the afterlife guided by Virgil, a Roman poet. The authors all
have some similarities in their interpretations of Hell. However, there are ... Show more content on

All the stories describe what Hell might be like, just from three different perspectives. There are
also differences when comparing the three. In Dante s first Canto, we learn that large beasts guard
the gates of Hell and, to get up to heaven, you must pass through Hell and Purgatory. The large
beasts at the front gates are similar in both Homer s and Virgil s idea of what the front gate
could be like. Dante has Virgil to guide him, Odysseus did not really have a guide but Aeneas
had the Sibyl. Dante, like Aeneas and Odysseus, performed rituals before he entered Hell. When
Dante enters hell he is very scared knowing that very few people who are alive that ever enter
Hell and also come back. In all three stories the living are not welcomed into Hell. Aeneas had
the golden stick, Odysseus had permission, and Dante was allowed because Virgil acquainted
him, who was helped from above. All three characters, when coming up to the gate of Hell, hear
cries of the tortured souls and understand this is a place for torment. In the Aeneid, to enter Hell,
you must cross a river, but not in the Odyssey. The Odyssey does mention some rivers, but does
not get into detail about them. Dante is taken across this river by Cheron. He runs the ferry and
takes the doomed souls across the Acheron. The river is filled with souls trying to escape, but they
cannot; this is similar to the

The Federal Minister of Health Rona Ambrose has taken a positive step toward the right direction
by advising the federal standing committee on health to research into the possible hazard and gain
of e cigarettes ( The Canadian Press,2014) Due to the health concern and potential hazard to
adolescents the cities of York , Red Deer and Toronto have restricted smoking of cigarettes in open
places. This is a well come development that Ottawa can draw from to take steps on controlling e
cigarettes. No doubt, there is an urgent need for the government to regulate the manufacture,
marketing and usage of e cigarettes because the manufacturers of e cigarettes will not disclose the
content of the cigarettes and canisters. No wonder Olivia Rose (2014) concluded that other
chemicals and the quantities included in e cigarettes apart from carcinogen like formaldehyde are
unknown. From the foregoing, it is pertinent that the Canadian government regulate e
cigerattes, because consumers don t know how much nicotine or other chemicals exist in them, as
well as the potential risk and hazards associated with them.

Catholic bishop in the United States (as Archbishop of Baltimore, 1790) and founder of

this is not an exhibition of my poetry traits or some faintly somber attempt of awry rhyming at

of a lesser known mortal to gain attention of some well known folks nor is it written just for the
sake of putting up some damn written stuff on my blog in a harried manner. My dear fellow men

prove fatal to my survival in this big bad world. At the same time let me warn you guys, I am not

but the incident that I am going to narrate in a few lines from here on is an incident that would

Political Activism
What motivated conservative women into political activism between 1980 2008? What
organizations and networks did they form? What were their central issues? After the sexual
revolution of the 1960 s and 1970 s, conservatives were becoming increasingly concerned about
the rise of homosexuality and heterosexual promiscuity prior to marriage. Conservatives were
fearful of the immoralities they were witnessing as well as the liberal notion of people depending
on the government to be a social provider and concerns about the implications of social activism
that they were witnessing. This called for a shift in politics and government. Voters elected Ronald

98% of anti ERA activists were members of religious institutions. STOP ERA continued to grow
and other organizations joined in their campaigns. Women and organizations that typically
separated politics from their religious affiliations joined in the campaign. Suddenly
organizations such as Women Who Want to Be Women, the Family Preservation League, and
the National Council of Catholic Women as well as younger Evangelical Christians, Southern
Baptists, Mormons, Orthodox Jews, and Roman Catholics were rallying in support of STOP
ERA. Of interest to note, the majority of those opposed to ERA were mostly white middle class
women, to be married, over thirty years of age, and had college educations. Schlafly was also
instrumental in leading workshops and trainings to teach activists how to speak in public and
debate as well as offering advice on how to look good and be poised under pressure. She also
drafted and taught ERA rebuttals. She advised local groups to send young, polished, well dressed,
pretty young women to essentially bribe and flirt with legislators. These legislators were easily
influenced by these women because of their connections to them in the communities that they lived
and attended church. Politicians were willing to cooperate since these women participated in
political campaigns. Essentially they worked to provide a stereotype that would make feminists

How Did Bob Harris Influence The Big Government
Harris was recognized by his followers as a courageous person who had the power to shape the
government s influence in society, control the supremacy of public sector organizations, reduce
taxes, nurture personal initiatives and ensure positive progress of the economy. ( Citation) On the
contrary, his critics associated him with being dictatorial, ailing healthcare and education systems,
increase in poverty levels amongst the marginalized groups in Ontario, issues of police brutality on
a Native demonstrator and negligence over laws that protect the environment. According to his
critics, his negligence to environmental laws was responsible for Walkerton s tainted water scandal
in 2000 where 7 people lost their lives.

The Effects Of Obesity On Today s Youth
In the past couple of years there has been an uproar about American health. People are starting to
take notice of the fact that American citizens are getting fatter and fatter every day. Recently,
there have been many documentaries about obesity in today s youth. Over the past three
decades, childhood obesity rates in America have tripled, and today, nearly one in three children
in America are overweight or obese. The numbers are even higher in African American and
Hispanic communities, where nearly 40% of the children are overweight or obese. If we don t
solve this problem, one third of all children born in 2000 or later will suffer from diabetes at
some point in their lives. Many others will face chronic obesity related health problems like
heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, and asthma. Children are gaining more weight and
everyone thinks it is because of technology and the lack of outdoor play. That could be the
reason, but it can also be something entirely different. America is known for their big meals and
fattening fast food. There are fast food restaurants around every corner and it is cheap so this also
contributes to the obesity rate rising. Americans are known to other countries as the fat ones . They
stereotype Americans as these fat and lazy people who only think about themselves. America is the
second country with the most obese people, following closely behind Mexico. Obesity is at its all

Bus 670 Week 3 Individual Assignment Elements Of A Contract
BUS 670 Week 3 Individual Assignment Elements of a Contract A contract of employment is a
type of a contract used in labor law to attribute rights and responsibilities between parties to a
contract (Blum, 2007). On the one end stands an employee who is employed by an employer . A
written employment contract is a document that someone and their employee sign which sets
forth the terms and conditions of the employment relationship (Tepper, 2011). Many rules,
exceptions and considerations apply when dealing with employment contracts. Suppose that the
Fabulous Hotel hires you as head chef under a two year employment contract. After two years,
another hotel wants to hire you. However, in the original employment contract you signed with
the fabulous Hotel, the following paragraph appears: The below signed agrees not to work as a
chef for another hotel in the same metropolitan area for a period of two years after leaving our
employ. First, it is crucial to know and understand which law governs the employment contract.
According to Seaquist, contract law is governed by the common law or the Uniform Commercial
Code (UCC) (Seaquist, 2012). If the contract handles the sales of goods, it is governed by the
UCC (Seaquist, 2012). If the contract handles anything besides the sale of goods (such as real
estate, insurance, personal services like employment, etc.) then it is governed by the common law
(Seaquist, 2012). When a business or employer hires an employee to join the staff,

Before The Flood Ethos
Global warming is a topic which has been on the minds of many over the past decade. There
have been political debates, scientific experiments, and scientific studies conducted that solely
addressed global warming. Some say that global warming is not a major problem in the world
and should not be a primary concern of today s governments. Some even go so far as to say that
global warming, which is also known as climatechange, is a hoax. However, the documentary
Before the Flood attempts to persuade its audience that the Earthis deteriorating due to the effects of

This scene displays a flashback of Leonardo DiCaprio to a conversation that he had with Al
Gore. Leonardo states that the first time he heard about climate change was when he had a
conversation with Al Gore, who was the Vice President at the time, in the White House. The
statements that Al Gore was the Vice President and that the conversation took place in the White
House develops ethos as the position of Vice President is a widely respected position and the
White House is respected in society because it is the home of the president of the United States.
After these statements, DiCaprio describes the content of the conversation that he had with Gore.
He says that Gore drew a picture of Earth on chalkboard and then drew the atmosphere around the
Earth. He states that Gore then said that the atmosphere is the most important part of Earth.
DiCaprio continues by saying that Gore stated that almost all human activities release carbon
dioxide into the atmosphere including all modes of transportation, the procedure by which cities
are built, and the way that food is produced. DiCaprio then states that Gore stated that climate
change will cause the polar ice caps to melt, that sea levels will rise, and that there will be more
devastating natural disasters. While DiCaprio is describing these effects, there are pictures of all of

The Golden Age of Islam
The golden age of Islamic (and/or Muslim) art lasted from 750 to the 16th century, when ceramics,
glass, metalwork, textiles, illuminated manuscripts, and woodwork flourished. Lustrous glazing
was an Islamic contribution to ceramics. Islamic luster painted ceramics were imitated by Italian
potters during the Renaissance. Manuscript illumination developed into an important and greatly
respected art, and portrait miniature painting flourished in Persia. Calligraphy, an essential aspect of
written Arabic, developed in manuscripts and architectural decoration. This paper will examine the

Theologus Autodidactus, written by the Arabian polymath Ibn al Nafis(1213 1288), is an early
example of proto science fiction. It deals with various science fiction elements such as spontaneous
generation, futurology, and the end of the world and doomsday. Rather than giving supernatural or
mythological explanations for these events, Ibn al Nafis attempted to explain these plot elements
using the scientific knowledge of biology, astronomy, cosmology and geology known in his time.
His main purpose behind this science fiction work was to explain Islamic religious teachings in
terms of science and philosophy through the use of fiction.
A Latin translation of Ibn Tufails work, Philosophus Autodidactus, first appeared in 1671,
prepared by Edward Pococke the Younger, followed by an English translation by Simon Ockley
in 1708, as well as German and Dutch translations. These translations later inspired Daniel Defoe
to write Robinson Crusoe, regarded as the first novel in English (James Thurber, pg.64).
Philosophus Autodidactus also inspired Robert Boyle to write his own philosophical novel set
on an island, The Aspiring Naturalist (James Thurber, pg.64). The story also anticipated
Rousseau s Emile: or, On Education in some ways, and is also similar to Mowgli s story in
Rudyard Kipling s The Jungle Book as well as Tarzan s story, in that a baby is abandoned but taken

Frege And Russell s Principles Of Mathematics
Chapter 2
Devices Russell Takes Resource To :
In the Principles of Mathematics, Russell upheld the thesis that the whole of mathematics is a part
of logic. A formal demonstration of this goal is carried out in the three volumes of Principia
Mathematica. The reduction of mathematics to logic is undertaken in two stages в—Џ To define the
indefinables of mathematics, such as number, in terms of a few logical concepts. (conceptual
reduction) в—Џ To demonstrate that mathematical truths are derivable from a few logical truths,
taken as axioms, within the proposed formal system of logic. (doctrinal reduction) The first step
led Russell, in Principles of Mathematics to undertake a logical analysis of our ordinary language.
The same intention motivated Frege to discuss the nature of the relation of identity as expressed
in various identity statements, particularly with regard to mathematics. This brings to fore the
puzzle of identity, ultimately leading to Frege s theory of meaning that admits a dichotomy of
sense and reference of each and every linguistic expression. Although a realist metaphysics lies at
the back of both Frege s and Russell s logical analysis of language, the theory of meaning that
ensued from Russellian analysis of language is different from that of Frege s. At the time of
Principles of Mathematics, Russell subscribed to a kind of naive or,

The Outsiders By Susan Eloise Hinton
Reading a variety of novels throughout my educational career has been an essential portion of my
life furthermore; I believe the Irvine Unified School District should teach the novel The Outsiders
by Susan Eloise Hinton. This novel has many themes and morals that fit perfectly with it, but the
main one is to show how our society segregates people based on their looks and appearance. I
believe this novelis suitable for young adults between the ages of twelve and sixteen because this
novel gives them an insight to the contemporary segregation issues that they face in life. During
this age group many kids get judged based on their looks and style. I would teach the themes and

comes into play. The Greasers are described as poorer than the Socs and the middle class...

Sports Influence On Canadian Identity
A nations identity is a way for all its common citizens to unite together, and for a country as
young as Canada, its identity is often not complete and is ever changing. Social trends and
beliefs are constantly evolving and therefore have an impact on how the rest of the world views
Canada. However, sports have been a staple in the Canadian identity for over 100 years, but even
sports aren t impermeable to changing times. Over the last 18 years there has been a steady

One was heralded as the personification of what it means to be Canadian and the other as a
villain who embarrassed Canada (Jackson Ponic, 2001). Both athletes were once dominant in
their sport and their actions have affected the way Canadians view themselves. Wayne Gretzky
is known as the greatest hockey player of all time, born and raised in Canada. It was thought that
through finding greatness in him we can find greatness in ourselves (Jackson Ponic, 2001, p.

they have been able to create their own governments and were recognized by the American

The Indians had every reason not to trust Americans after all they went through being constantly
pushed off their land. They were always seen as two separate groups and Americans have treated
the Indians as less than them until recently. The government began to see that the way the Indians
were treated was wrong and should have never been forced to move. There was never an official
apology for the Indian Removal Act and treatment until 2009, when President Barack Obama

Choosing To My Life By Corrie Ten Boom
Any step that removes sorrow from your life is a step in the right direction. Choosing to invite
happiness into your life is the journey most worthy to embark these steps on. I ve come up with
three steps that justify the values of a quote from Corrie ten Boom that says, Worry does not
empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength. For anyone going through a
sorrowful situation, a happier lifestyle is a few thoughts away. The three steps to a happier life in
the midst of a sad situation is: accepting a problem for what it is, letting go of negativity, and
thinking positivity.
The first step to releasing worry from your life is accepting the problem you are facing. My

Worrying too much will not create a better tomorrow. Once a person gives up a pessimistic
lifestyle, he or she can gain control over their thoughts and emotions. Letting go of negativity
leaves you vulnerable to have thoughts that still may not improve your well being. You must
choose to see the good in the world and find something to believe in. Personally, I believe that for
every heartbreak in life, there is also something to to be rejoiced. Learning that a loved one has
cancer is devastating, but seeing them heal is remarkable. Choose to have a mindset that
contributes to a happy lifestyle. Learn to realize how many good opportunities a bad situation
gives you. I was able to witness some events in a whole new light. For example, most people don
t get to experience growing their hair back or gaining muscle back at such a fast pace. These
experiences prove how much an illness can take away and how quickly a strong mindset can
restore that deficit. A good outlook on life will heal and strengthen anyone who chooses happiness

Reliability Of The Measurement Instrument Essay
4.3Reliability analysis To evaluate the reliability of the measurement instrument it was developed
an internal consistency analysis through Cronbach s alpha. It is an index that takes values between
0 and 1, used to verify if the instrument is reliable and performs stable and consistent measurements
(Santesmases, 2009). Cronbach s alpha estimates the lower limit of the reliability coefficient and it
is expressed through Formula 2. (2) Where k is the number of items in the test; Si2 is the items
variance (from 1...i) and S2sum is the total test variance. This means that the reliability depends on
the test length and the covariance among its items (Santesmases, 2009). It is important to mention
that it was decided to apply a pilot test to 40 customers, with the purpose of measuring the
questionnaire s internal consistency. In the first version, the test was integrated by 22 items
distributed in five dimensions and after being undergone to Cronbach s alpha validity test, the
instrument was redesigned to 20 items, as is shown in Graphic 4. Graphic 4. Items and dimensions

The Strategy Of Airasia X

In 2001, AirAsia was founded by Tony Fernandes. After six years, Fernandes realized the
company should create a airline separated from AirAsia to focus on the low cost long haul market
which he called AirAsia X. Azran Osman Rani was appointed to the become the CEO of the newly
established company. The company had an initial success by being the first mover. However, there
were some problems that they had to face along the way as they were in a completely new market
using an untried business model. One of the main challenges for the company is the protectionist
measures taken by the Malaysian government to protect the national airline, Malaysia Airlines
(MAS). The other major problem is the limitations on the general ... Show more content on

This helped X to increase the seating capacity by 20 percent. X also had a flexible flight schedule
as its aircraft was in the air for 16 hours per day in average, which is much higher than the industry
average of 11 hours per day.
SWOT Analysis
AirAsia X s main strength is the low price that it offers for customers. For most airlines in the
industry, it is extremely difficult to keep the price low for long haul flights as the full services
offered in most airlines increase the operating costs. In addition, X also benefited from the
expansive network, infrastructure and customers that AirAsia already has that enabled them to
grow fast with good financial outcomes. On the other hand, X s main weakness is the
technology. The website always crashes and the company doesn t have its own database of
customers. X also doesn t enjoy from a strong relationship with the Malaysian Transport Ministry.
This can be detrimental to the company as it finds competing with Malaysia Airlines in some
profitable routes to be difficult. However, X has some opportunities. For example, in order to
keep the low price ticket, cooperating with fuel companies which will offer low fuel price and
increasing demand in low cost airlines will bring profits. The major threat for AirAsia X is the
protectionist measures taken by the Malaysian government that prevented X from flying planes to
some destinations with high demand. This would have been a very

Prohibition of Drugs in Columbia
Drug prohibition in Colombia has had minimal variations over time, as reflected in the precedent
set by the Constitutional Court since 1994 when they established that only behaviors that interfere
with the orbit of freedom and other people s interests can be legally enforceable (Corte
Constitucional , 1994). Almost 20 years later in 2011, same Court discussed about a constitutional
claim raised by citizens regarding a change that contemplates prohibition of possession and
production of drugs, resolving in the end that it was fair and adjusted to constitutional values, they
agreed on the fact that the definition of prohibition has other meanings, aside from criminalization,
because prohibition involves other measures for the consumer like voluntary rehabilitation (Corte
Constitucional , 2011). unclear, needs elaboration
As a result, thereВґs a lack of a consistent criminal policy on the long term, currently legislation it s

The Issue Of A Constitutional Convention
Danny Chasteen and Susan Rick thought that they had finally gotten their big break when they
won $250,000 from the Illinois lottery. But, because the Illinois budget had not passed, they
received nothing but a cold promise. No, the lottery situation is not the most pressing problem
facing our government, it is merely a trivial outgrowth of a bigger problem: political gridlock in
the state legislature. A large majority of the citizens of Illinoisare exasperated with the government,
and they have the right to be, but a Constitutional Conventionis not going to fix any of our
problems. Every state has its own dilemmas, and these issues can be solved through the everyday
political process. A Constitutional Convention is simply not necessary, when the Constitutionitself is
not what is holding back the Illinois State government.
What could possibly be the purpose of a Constitutional Convention? Is it to change provisions on
the state budget, income tax, or even school funding? All of these subjects can be focused on
individually, and changed through the already present amendment procedures. In fact most of the
Constitution itself can be changed through this existing political process. The Constitution is a
living breathing document that is meant to change as its environment changes, which is the
specific purpose of amendments. Each provision should be dealt with individually, so as to bring
more attention to that specific problem. For instance, school budgeting or pension reform

demographic and is specifically popular among young adult males ages 17 25. Over the past
decade, the brand has gained significant recognition through its many popular commercials, ad
campaigns and social media outreach, even spawning a viral video, The ManYour Man Could
Smell Like in 2008, reaching 40 million views in its first week of dropping. With their wide range
of influence across multiple platforms, it s not surprising to find out that Old Spicemedia producers
have done their best to the dig hooks of their products into the minds of teens and... Show more

Other images such as the long hair, the instruments, and the sticking out of the tongue show a new
found, outgoing personality compared to the so called average looks of the normal side of the
teen. This tells viewers, especially those of the same age group as the teen in the advertisement, that
Old Spice and their products will turn any bland person into someone popular and interesting. The
ad also hints to young male viewers that using Old Spice products will attract women, due to its
overwhelming power to increase popularity and manliness. This is perhaps the companies most
powerful tool for persuading consumers to buy their products. The campaign s slogan on the ad
reads There s a Man in There . This is a short but yet powerful phrase that drives the desires of the
consumer. By planting the idea in the consumer s head that the scent of Old Spice products
reinforces manliness, therefore attracting women, Old Spice effectively plays on the desires and
emotions of the viewers. Since most of the targeted audience, young males 17 25, strive for the
same qualities and attributes advertised by Old Spice products, it is far more likely that young
adults will pick the product that is in line with their own personal

Philip The Fortunate Was A Very Good French King
Philip VI the Fortunate
Andrew Miller
10th History
12 27 16
Introduction
I think Philip the Fortunate was a very good French King. He was known for being the first
French king of the Valois dynasty. His reign saw the beginning of the Hundred Years War and the
arrival of the Black Death.
Body
In May of 1328, Philip of Valois became King Philip VI of France. In August of that year, the count
of Flanders appealed to Philip for help in putting down a revolt. The king responded by sending his
knights to slaughter thousands at the Battle of Cassel. Not long after that, Robert of Artois, who
had helped Philip get the crown, claimed the countship of Artois; but a royal candidate did so, as
well. Philip instituted judicial proceedings against Robert, turning his one time supporter into a
bitter enemy.
It wasn t until 1334 that trouble began with England. Edward III, who didn t particularly like
paying homage to Philip for his holdings in France, decided to flout Philip s interpretation of
Salic Law and lay claim to the French crown through his mother s line. (Edward was most likely
spurred on in his animosity toward Philip by Robert of Artois.) In 1337 Edward landed on French
soil, and what would later be known as Hundred Years War began.
In order to wage war Philip had to raise taxes, and in order to raise taxes he had to make
concessions to the nobility, the clergy, and the bourgeoisie. This resulted in the rise of the estates
and the beginning of a reform movement in

DSLR Camera Reflection
Hi! In this discussion, we ll look at how a DSLR camera works and how the light travels inside a
DSLR camera. First, we ll look at the cross sectional view of a DSLR camera. That means if you
take a camera and cut it open through the center and look at it from the side this is how it looks
like. And it s called the side cross sectional view. Now let s see what are the elements that are
inside the camera. These are the lens elements. Those are the glass pieces inside the lens. These
are just representational and there could be multiple glass pieces or lens .Elements in the lens
based on what kind of lens is being used. Behind the lens, we have the mirror. The mirror is at
degree angle and behind the mirror is the sensor unit. That is the light sensitive part inside the
DSLR. In front of the sensor unit is the shutter unit. The shutter unit inside the DSLR camera is
made up of two parts. The first is the front curtain and the second one is the rear curtain. The
shutter unit inside the SLR is called a focal plane sector because the shutter always travels parallel
to the film plane in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In between the prism and the mirror is the focusing screen. Behind the prism is the viewfinder
through which the photographer sees the light. When we see through the viewfinder and when you
try to focus we see little squares with red light blinking so these are actually imprinted on the
focusing screen. Now let us look at the light path inside the camera.
We ll split into three different parts. The first is the light path before we take a picture. Light path
at the time we take a picture and light path after we take a picture. You can closely observe the
sequence of activities that happens when the light comes through the lens hits the mirror bounces
off the pentaprism and comes through the viewfinder. So a photographer basically sees what the
lens is seeing.
It is a very simple

Prometheus Quotes
The story of Prometheus shows us that a struggle for power can have good or bad consequences.
An element in the myth of Prometheus is the Origins of Life . A quote to support this element is
With fire Man made weapons, defied the frost and cold ,made tools and money, introduced the arts,
and was able to destroy as well as create. This quote is related because with fire man was advance
however, fire had downfalls. Prometheus also helped humans but for that he had to play the
consequences, for his actions, Zeus chained Prometheus to the top of a mountain, and every day
an eagle came and ate Prometheus liver. Every day, his liver grew back. The key element in this
quote is the Struggle for Power.

  • 2. The Concepts Of Microeconomics While At San Pasqual High... Students at San Pasqual High School created a music video outlining the major concepts of microeconomics while at the same time relating each lesson to the real world, albeit in a humorous manner. The application of these ideas in the video ranged from determining the price of gas to finding a dance partner. The concepts addressed by the students including market structures, government intervention, elasticity, and scarcity, that all hold value in everyday life and an understanding of their importance can contribute significant benefits to the power of the consumer within the market. To begin, one of the first concepts introduced by the video was that of market structures. Market structures are categorized as a result of variables that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a consumer, knowledge of the various market structures allows for the understanding of the motivations and decisions made by certain firms, and can assist in the making of calculated purchases. For instance, the student in the video hypothesized that gas prices were rising because multiple gas firms within an oligopoly were colluding and artificially raising prices. With this information, one can choose to take their purchase to another firm who does not appear to be colluding and purchase a substitute good for a cheaper price. If enough consumers are aware of the strategies utilized by firms within markets structures such as monopolies and oligopolies, action can be taken in order to prevent costs of goods from reaching levels that only benefit producers. The power that each consumer s purchase holds is often underestimated, and if used wisely, can help to create a market that fosters innovation and rewards firms with fair prices. The next major topic the video focused upon was elasticity. Elasticity is a measure of how sensitive producers and consumers to changes in price of a good or a service. If a good /service is elastic, willingness to purchase changes significantly with a small change in price. Conversely, if a good/service is inelastic, the market does not react very much in response to a change in price. The concept of elasticity was introduced in the music video when a student was attempting to get away ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

John Locke, an English philosopher, also known as the father of Classical Liberalism, said in 1690 from Two Treatises on Government ; [On the state of nature] To understand political power aright, and derive it from its original, we must consider what estate all men are naturally in, and that is, a state of perfect freedom to order their actions, and dispose of their possessions and persons as they think fit, within the bounds of the law of Nature, without asking leave or depending upon the will of any other man (...) We derive from this that men are all equal and we should not expect political power to be understood right if we do not realize that men are equal in all Estates. With Estates, the laws of nature won t be heard and it is not naturally human to build up Estates in a country. This excerpt also has a lot to do with the rights of men and especially the Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen. This will be discussed later on in the Essay. The birth of the Enlightenment happened during the 18th Century and it emerged from Europe as an intellectual movement of writers and thinkers questioning and challenging the ideas and views that at the time was widely accepted. While Star Wars News Net may have decided to focus on what s new in the latest promotional item for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we here at Culturess noticed something different: that this reminds us, in a number of ways, of pieces we ve seen before in the realm of Star Warsmarketing tools. First off, Luke Skywalker is occupying a very similar position to the one Darth Vaderdoes in this well known poster from The Empire Strikes Back. Last Jedi certainly skews more reddish orange, but also borrows the idea of a blue lightsaber illuminating part of a main character s face in this case, it s Rey again, and Obi Wan on Attack of the Clones. Third, Revenge of the Sith actually combines both of these ideas: the palette as well as the looming presence in the upper left. Fourth, to talk about the droids (again), it s good to see that R2 D2 is on the right and C 3PO is on the left. That one goes all the way back to A New Hope ... er, Star Wars. There are some other points to note as well. Kylo Ren s expression here is particularly intriguing it s very obviously conflicted. That s something that not even Anakin ever managed on any of the posters he features in. Not even any of the Revenge of the Sith or The Phantom Menace pieces really come close to capturing such emotion. Look to the right of Kylo Ren as well. • 6. Disadvantages Of Weed Infestation Weed infestation has been known to cause substantial reductions in crop yields thereby obstructing sustainable agriculture (Ayeni et al., 2013). Weed competition was identified by Mbanje et al. (2001) as the most important factor for yield reduction in both commercial and communal farming in Zimbabwe. Weeds threat had forced farmers to use synthetic herbicides which have detrimental effects on the environment. Synthetic herbicides are also expensive and are not readily available for communal farmers use. Chemical and mechanical weed management reduce profitability in crop production since these methods are expensive. Recent efforts are being intensified on finding alternative strategies for weed management. The need for safe food production has developed steadily over the years as a result of consciousness about food quality and environmental concerns regarding agrochemicals used in agriculture. Both books involve the Trojan War and journeys across roaring seas. During each book, the men enter the afterlife with a guide to help them through Hell, and each author gives their own thoughts depicting how it might appear. The large beasts at the front gates are similar in both Homer s and Virgil s idea of what the front gate could be like. Dante has Virgil to guide him, Odysseus did not really have a guide but Aeneas had the Sibyl. Dante, like Aeneas and Odysseus, performed rituals before he entered Hell. When Dante enters hell he is very scared knowing that very few people who are alive that ever enter Hell and also come back. In all three stories the living are not welcomed into Hell. Aeneas had the golden stick, Odysseus had permission, and Dante was allowed because Virgil acquainted him, who was helped from above. All three characters, when coming up to the gate of Hell, hear cries of the tortured souls and understand this is a place for torment. In the Aeneid, to enter Hell, you must cross a river, but not in the Odyssey. The Odyssey does mention some rivers, but does not get into detail about them. Theologus Autodidactus, written by the Arabian polymath Ibn al Nafis(1213 1288), is an early example of proto science fiction. It deals with various science fiction elements such as spontaneous generation, futurology, and the end of the world and doomsday. Rather than giving supernatural or mythological explanations for these events, Ibn al Nafis attempted to explain these plot elements using the scientific knowledge of biology, astronomy, cosmology and geology known in his time. His main purpose behind this science fiction work was to explain Islamic religious teachings in terms of science and philosophy through the use of fiction. A Latin translation of Ibn Tufails work, Philosophus Autodidactus, first appeared in 1671, prepared by Edward Pococke the Younger, followed by an English translation by Simon Ockley in 1708, as well as German and Dutch translations. These translations later inspired Daniel Defoe to write Robinson Crusoe, regarded as the first novel in English (James Thurber, pg.64). Philosophus Autodidactus also inspired Robert Boyle to write his own philosophical novel set on an island, The Aspiring Naturalist (James Thurber, pg.64). The story also anticipated Rousseau s Emile: or, On Education in some ways, and is also similar to Mowgli s story in Rudyard Kipling s The Jungle Book as well as Tarzan s story, in that a baby is abandoned but taken care of and fed by a mother wolf. • 23. Frege And Russell s Principles Of Mathematics Chapter 2 Devices Russell Takes Resource To : In the Principles of Mathematics, Russell upheld the thesis that the whole of mathematics is a part of logic. A formal demonstration of this goal is carried out in the three volumes of Principia Mathematica. The reduction of mathematics to logic is undertaken in two stages в—Џ To define the indefinables of mathematics, such as number, in terms of a few logical concepts. (conceptual reduction) в—Џ To demonstrate that mathematical truths are derivable from a few logical truths, taken as axioms, within the proposed formal system of logic. (doctrinal reduction) The first step led Russell, in Principles of Mathematics to undertake a logical analysis of our ordinary language. The same intention motivated Frege to discuss the nature of the relation of identity as expressed in various identity statements, particularly with regard to mathematics. This brings to fore the puzzle of identity, ultimately leading to Frege s theory of meaning that admits a dichotomy of sense and reference of each and every linguistic expression. Although a realist metaphysics lies at the back of both Frege s and Russell s logical analysis of language, the theory of meaning that ensued from Russellian analysis of language is different from that of Frege s. It is an index that takes values between 0 and 1, used to verify if the instrument is reliable and performs stable and consistent measurements (Santesmases, 2009). Cronbach s alpha estimates the lower limit of the reliability coefficient and it is expressed through Formula 2. This means that the reliability depends on the test length and the covariance among its items (Santesmases, 2009). It is important to mention that it was decided to apply a pilot test to 40 customers, with the purpose of measuring the questionnaire s internal consistency. He was known for being the first French king of the Valois dynasty. His reign saw the beginning of the Hundred Years War and the arrival of the Black Death. Body In May of 1328, Philip of Valois became King Philip VI of France. In August of that year, the count of Flanders appealed to Philip for help in putting down a revolt. The king responded by sending his knights to slaughter thousands at the Battle of Cassel. Not long after that, Robert of Artois, who had helped Philip get the crown, claimed the countship of Artois; but a royal candidate did so, as well. Philip instituted judicial proceedings against Robert, turning his one time supporter into a bitter enemy. It wasn t until 1334 that trouble began with England. Edward III, who didn t particularly like paying homage to Philip for his holdings in France, decided to flout Philip s interpretation of Salic Law and lay claim to the French crown through his mother s line. (Edward was most likely spurred on in his animosity toward Philip by Robert of Artois.) In 1337 Edward landed on French soil, and what would later be known as Hundred Years War began.
