Essays On Moral Values
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essays On Moral Values" presents a unique set of challenges.
Firstly, moral values encompass a broad spectrum of beliefs and principles, making it essential to
narrow down the focus to specific aspects or principles within this vast domain. Secondly,
delving into moral values requires a deep understanding of ethics, philosophy, psychology,
sociology, and various cultural and religious perspectives.
Crafting an insightful and comprehensive essay demands extensive research to explore diverse
viewpoints, theories, case studies, and real-life examples. Moreover, effectively conveying
personal insights and reflections while maintaining objectivity can be daunting. Balancing one's
own moral stance with an unbiased analysis of contrasting viewpoints adds complexity to the
writing process.
Furthermore, articulating complex ethical dilemmas and their implications in a coherent and
engaging manner requires critical thinking and eloquence. Striving to uphold academic integrity
by citing credible sources and avoiding plagiarism adds another layer of difficulty.
In conclusion, composing an essay on moral values entails navigating through multifaceted
philosophical and ethical terrain while articulating personal perspectives with clarity and
precision.

Money In Congress
When the founders of the United States created this country, they wanted the citizens
to have an election system which was fair, and they did not want outside influences
affecting these elections. However, through out our countries history, money has
been able to influence elections. Therefore, it is important that the government install
a limit on how much one can contribute to a campaign. Because of this, congress has
worked vary hard to limit the amount of money that one is able to contribute during a
federal election. While congress had been working hard for decades to make these
laws, this has not been the case in Illinois. The State of Illinois passed its first piece
of legislation, which limited the amount of money one can contribute... Show more

The new law stated that during primary election, these committees are only allowed
to contribute $200,000 to candidates for statewide office. Furthermore, they are only
allowed to contribute $125,000 for state senate elections, some judicial elections, and
some county elections. Moreover, political parties and legislative caucus committees
are also only allowed to contribute $75,000 for state representative elections, Finally,
the bill states that these committees are only allowed to contribute $50,000 for any
other election in Illinois. Although this act states how much a political party is
allowed to contribute to a candidate, this new legislation also documents how much
money these committees are allowed to receive during an election cycle. The act
states that during an election cycle, a political party is only allowed to accept
$10,000 of contributions from an individual, $50,000 of contributions from a political
action committee, and $20,000 of contributions from a corporation and labor
organization. Because this legislation does not place a spending restriction legislative
caucus committees and political party committees to in the genial election, It has
caused many people to believe that these new laws are

Christy chose this industry from listening to her inner voice and needs. She devoted
herself to her career and passed the peak time of fertility. She was trying to find a
way to balance having a career and a family. Reading of Hewlett s book and

Extend Fertility offered storage services to their clients by partnering with a secure

potential customers via its programs and activities. Extend Fertility generate profit
from egg freezing product, license, and consumers service fee and payment from
fertility clinics. The company collected ongoing storage fee and about 40% of the
total cost of the procedure. The rest of money would split between medical clinics
and pharmaceutical. Christy expected 80% gross margin on the services provided by
the company.
The business plan with such high gross margin seems quite favorable. However, the
company s concept has some potential problems. The company did not mention how
to minimize the risk of hurting women s health when they proceeded to collect their
eggs. Furthermore, the business plan did not include the best use time of the storage
eggs. If the eggs were expected to keep in years, the quality of eggs could not be
ensured. Finally, they did not offer a strong report to state the potential issues of
using freezing eggs. Would the technique influence the health of babies?

U.s Auto Industrys Market Share And Fluctuations Essay
U.S Auto Industry s Market Share and Fluctuations
The U. S. auto industry s share of the market has experienced fluctuations over the
past 50 years. These fluctuations have been caused by many reasons, but some of the
main reasons include quality, price, and foreign competition.
The Ford Motor Company, General Motors Company, and the ChryslerCorporation,
a.k.a. quot; The Big Three quot;, are the three largest manufacturers of automobiles
in the world. quot; The Big Three quot; hold nearly 75% of the market and produce

Ford decided to buy small foreign companies and convert them to Ford production
facilities. This would enable Ford to increase its share of the market in Europe and
Asia. Also, this would allow Ford to avoid high tariffs placed on foreign cars in
China and Japan.
Ford motor company currently employs over 300,000 workers world wide. In
January of 1996, Ford merged its North American, South American, Asia Pacific,
European, and African Automotive Operations into a single organization, Ford
Automotive
Operations. This merger cut back on costs of developing new cars because now
instead of five different organizations working on the same project only one
organization would work on it. This decreased the amount of time and labor needed
to improve or design new cars. In return the price of Ford products declined, resulting
in more sales.
Another approach of Ford was to enter joint ventures with foreign companies.
Through these joint ventures the foreign companies would produce and assemble
Ford automobiles for sale in that country.
Ford is trying to assure future sales by researching vehicles that contain plastics that
can be recycled into common materials. Also, Ford is currently working with the U.

Article 1: Gender Role Portrayal and the Disney Princesses
Some of the main research questions of the study can are all related to gender roles,
such as What are some gender roles issues that arise and can be depicted in Disney
movies? , How will these films affect the child s outcome on behaviour and their
characteristics? , Will these films cause any harm to children? As well as the
question of Should these films be considered a hazard to a child s development? and
What are the later effects on the child?
In many Disney movies, there is almost always a female character, likely to be

Juxtaposition: Juxtaposition is a literary device that places two persons, places, ideas,
concepts, or themes close together for contrasting effect. Juxtaposition is placing two
things side by side to be compared and contrasted.

It s HIM.

Cardiovascular Disease Vs Heart Disease
Heart disease describes a range of conditions that affect your heart. Diseases under
the heart disease umbrella include blood vessel diseases, such as coronary artery
disease; heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias); and heart defects you re born with
(congenital heart defects), among others . (1) Many people will either use the term
cardiovascular disease or heartdisease to describe a cardiovascular disease.
Cardiovascular disease generally refers to conditions that involve narrowed or
blocked blood vessels that can lead to a heart attack, chest pain (angina) or stroke.
Other heart conditions, such as those that affect your heart s muscle, valves or
rhythm, also are considered forms of heart disease . (1) A person might not be
diagnosed with cardiovascular disease until they experience a cardiovascular
episode. Which is very scary if you think about it? That is why it is extremely
important to watch for known symptoms. Cardiovascular disease symptoms may be
different for men and women. For instance, men are more likely to have chest pain;
women are more likely to have other symptoms along with chest discomfort, such as
shortness of breath, nausea and extreme fatigue. If any of these symptoms are noticed
especially in tandem with one another a person needs to discuss any of these concerns
immediately with their physician. Cardiovascular disease can sometimes be found
early and treated better with regular evaluations.
Heart disease is the leading reason of demise for both

There are multiple debates and arguments concerning the creation story of both
mankind and the universe from the Bible and the Babylonian creation poem the
Enuma Elish. There is a debate on whether the two accounts have similarities or one
of them borrowed its content from the other. Enuma Elish is a great Assyrian poem
which narrates the story of the creation of the world and man. The poem contains
what the old empires believed concerning the creation of the universe. This
Babylonian and Assyrian poem gives an account of how Apsu (fresh water) and
Tiamat (sea water) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then God said, Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they
may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all
the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. (Gen
1:26). Contrary to Genesis, in EE man is a servant to the gods. The main purpose
of man s creation was for the gods to be free from work. Their work was mainly to
lessen all types of physical labor to the gods. That the service of the gods may be
established, and that their shrines may be built (cf. EE VI.5 9). It was God s
purpose for man to take care of the garden. Contrary to EE, God s purpose was not
to lessen the number of activities he had; He wanted to have fellowship with man.
Thirdly, both accounts express the existence of chaotic state before creation. The
fact is there is no order depicted in both accounts. In verses two of Genesis the
Bible states ...Now the earth was formless and empty. No presence of any living
creature because of this chaotic nature. Similarly, to Genesis account, EE chaotic
nature of the universe is mainly due to the absence of gods. Tiamat and Apsu both
represent aspects of the physical world. Apsu is a god of fresh water and fertility
while Tiamat goddess of the sea, therefore, chaos and threat. The fierce battle between
Marduk and Tiamat replaces Apsu and Tiamat Chaotic nature. And
Comparing Emerson And Thoreau
During the nineteenth century, the new philosophical trend of transcendentalism
occurred. Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, two contemporary
authors, expressed transcendentalist ideas through their writing. Their perspectives
of nature and society were both very similar. They believe people need to simplify
their lives, and spend time in nature. To them, nature is the key to peace and
tranquillity that people knowingly and unknowingly seek. Herman Melville,
another contemporary author of that time, has a very different view of nature.
Through Moby Dick, he expresses his ideas that nature is essentially evil. He
thinks that it is dangerous, and in order to protect yourself you need to go on the
offense against it. Thoreau and Emerson urge people to live a peaceful, simplistic
life and they think that spending time in nature, which is essentially good, is the
key to doing so, while Melville thinks that nature is a destructive force that people
should either avoid or fight. Emerson is one of the first people to introduce the idea
of nature being the key to peace. He insists that the natural world is beautiful, and
people should spend their time in it. In his essay Nature, Emerson says Nature never
wears a mean appearance/Nature never becomes a toy to a wise spirit (Emerson 1)....

By living in the wilderness, he finds true peace and harmony. Like Emerson, he
thinks that nature is beautiful, gentle, and everybody should spend time in it.
Society corrupts you and distracts you from the wonders that the natural world has
to offer. Thoreau used nature to intertwine with his spirituality, such as in Walden
when he says I got up early and bathed in the pond; that was a religious exercise, and
one of the best things which I did (Thoreau 6). This was a way for him to become
closer to the universe through nature. He thought that by doing this each morning he
was given new strength for the

Cultural Plunge at an Asian Market
As I contemplated on what my cultural plunge was going to be, it made me realize

Although not sold in its original form at our common grocery stores, we normally see
the flavor being used in teas and smoothies. Then there was the mangosteen. It is
another purple fruit. It is creamy and citrusy with a hint of peach. Second to last is
the Lychee. This is a common Asian fruit that is small and white in the inside and
has a grape like texture when eaten. Lastly was the Durian, sadly the worst one of
them. It has hard spiky husk that needed to be cracked opened. I was warned about
this one but didn t think it was going to be as bad as it was. It smelled like skunk
spray/ sewage. I tried to taste it but didn t. We immediately threw it away. The smell
was horrible. A lady who I spoke to at the store prior to buying the fruit just told me
that it was an acquired taste and smell, but I didn t expect what we experienced.
Nonetheless, I enjoyed going through and tasting each fruit. It definitely was an
experience and an eye opener to the different types of fruit out there besides your
usual bananas, strawberries, and oranges.
Ultimately I have to say that I enjoyed this overall experience. It has opened up my
eyes to many different cultures and definitely different way of eating. Since my

The Comparison of Themes between Lord of the Flies and Animal Farm
The author of Animal Farm, Orwell, tells a story of a farmyard tragedy and the
deadly lives of a group of animals. Due to the disappearance of humans, Napoleon
abuses his power and gradually transforms into a human. Orwell also used animals
to clarify that humans are corrupted due to power. The author of Lord of the Flies,
Golding, shows a similar story where it is about life and death situation for a group
of lost boys on a island that is trying to establish a democracy while on the island.

The characters of the novel are fit to the theme of man s intuitive evilness, as the
boys are under the age of 14. When they continue to enjoy torturing others, they
reveal their enjoyment of being savages. They do not desire any order or law of
directing force in their state of savagery.
In Animal Farm, George Orwell uses satirical allegory throughout his novel to present
the pessimistic view of human nature. The animal fable is used to demonstrate the
issues of unfair treatment, exploitation and inequality in society. It is evident that this
irony is particularly evident in the ending of both novels (Gulbin 88). The satirist
irony is directed on the events of the Russian Revolution and on the totalitarian
regime. Orwell uses political reason with creative reason to show his negative belief
that people only change the dictators though revolutions but the systems stay the
same. It is only a dream that people can gain a classless society through revolutions.
Orwell believes that everyone wants equality, yet it is in one s nature as human
beings to obtain power.
Napoleon, who is represented as an evil power hungry pig, becomes the villain that
destroys the farm through his manipulative acts such as abusing the animals, cutting
rations, increasing labor, and in the end making an imbalance of equality. The
revolution that promised freedom delivered for some the strong, the well armed, and
slavery for all the others (Donald E. Morse 89). Instead of

In a longitudinal study published in The Journal of Advanced Nursing, Munier and
Neison (2009) concluded that transformational leadership styles reduced stress in the
workplace and contributed to better sleep habits of the employees.
Application of Clinical Example Transformational leadership will guide the current
metamorphisis that is taking place in the nations skilled nursing facilities. Long term
care for elders is transitioning from the skilled nursing facilities to community based
settings such as assisted living facilities, retirement communitities, home health and
adult day care facilities. This leaves the traditional nursing home faced with the
changing needs of health care in our society. It is forecasted that skilled nursing
facilities will become the transitional acute care centers for rehabilitation as
hospitals are now discharging complex patients earlier than before to satisfy HMO
s and financial restraints. The ma and pa nursing home of the past will have to
succumb to this drastic change in order to survive financially. This transition must
be led by transformational leadership in order to be successful. A study in 2008 by
Neilson et all on the effects of transformational leadership in long term care,
determined that this leadership facilitated a higher job satisfaction amongst long
term care workers and a sense of well being. The employees who dedicate their lives

Greek Tophet
In addition to the forensic evidence, there is a large body of epigraphic evidence to
draw on that further proves that the Tophet was connected to child sacrifice. One such
inscription states quite clearly what the Tophet was used for: It was to the Lady
Thinnith Phanebal and to Baalhammun that Bomilcar bin Hanno bin Milkiathon
vowed son of his own flesh. Bless thou him! Clearly, this inscription indicates that a
child was sacrificed to Ba al Hammon and the important Carthaginian goddess, Tanit.
When it comes to interpreting the inscriptions on the Tophet, there are two words that
need to be paid attention to. The First is the word mlk (or its feminine version, mlkt).
Initially the meaning of the word was unclear, but it has since become... Show more

The first source to look at is the Greek historian Diodorus Siculus. Diodorus wrote
about how the Carthaginians would sacrifice the children of noble families to honour
Cronos. He also wrote about an incident where in Carthage was put under siege;
the Carthaginians, fearing that the gods had abandoned them (due to the fact that
Carthaginian nobles had been buying to children to sacrifice in place of their
own), sacrificed two hundred noble children. Now, his account is very
sensationalist; for example, the evidence shows that on average around one to two
burials were made per year; so Diodorus account of two hundred children being
sacrificed, is likely false. Plutarch writes something very similar in his essay On
Superstition. Plutarch writes that the Carthaginians would sacrifice their own
children (or children that had been purchased from the poor for the sole purpose of
sacrifice) to Cronos. Like Diodorus, Plutarch is also very sensationalist, he writes
that mothers would be forced to watch the sacrifice, and would be forbidden from
shedding tears or crying. Another source is the Roman philosopher Porphyry, who
writes that in times of war, plagues, and draughts, would choose to sacrifice someone
to Kronos. Interestingly, Porphyry differs from most other ancient accounts in that he
does not say that they sacrifice children, simply that they sacrificed someone close to
them. There are many more accounts of child sacrifice, from a wide variety of ancient
sources, but ultimately they end up saying very little. The only common denominator
amongst the sources is that human sacrifice was practiced in Carthage. So, ultimately
the literary sources are of little value in actually determining the

Essay On Gerald Laing
In this production by Gerald Laing, a young and fit woman can be seen. She
appears to come from a model background as she has a toned figure that is slender
and curvy. She is standing in a confident posed position with a hand on her hip. It
appears the artist attempts to position her short lengthened, dark hair in a way that
portrays the wind is blowing it. She is wearing a swimming suit that covers
minimal. She is placed on the right half of the portrait. The artwork does not
contain any other people or objects in the piece. Laing completes the print using
only three shades of color: gold, grey, and dark grey/black. The gold background
quickly catches the eye. Also, the gold is the color of the swimming suit that covers
the model s bottom half and chest suggesting that the artist wanted to draw attention

individual who deserves respect. The angle of her head off to the side instead of

Descriptive Essay About Michaelmas
Michaelmas
Every year, on the colorful fall day of September 29th, Sacramento Waldorf School
hosts a festival where good triumphs and evil parishes. Young girls and boys eagerly
dress up as knights, to help Saint George and Saint Michael conquer and tame the
malicious dragon, through good actions and deeds. Along with fun activities, caramel

challenging academic year ahead.
Michaelmas is a whole school event, where grades first through twelve are assigned
a different role, to put on a show that has its own unique twist each time. The roles
include villagers (played by first through fourth grade), Knights (played by the fifth
grade) the dragon (Played by the sixth grade), Lords and nobles (played by seventh
through eleventh grade) and lastly, Saint George and Saint Michael(played by twelfth
graders). The story told is a classic good vs. evil, preformed inside a giant circle,
created by everyone attending the festival. A town of poor villages are fearful of a
dragon, who is merciless and cruel. One day, the dragon attacks the village, leaving
the villagers desperate and frightened. All the noble knights flee in fear, except for
one, Saint George. Saint George bravely faces the dragon, but instead of using his
sword, he kneels and prays to saint Michael to give him wisdom and strength.
Michael appears out of the heavens, and empowers Saint George, with courage, and

Meanwhile, not only characters can represent the monstrous feminine. Creed, for
instance, points out how one of the space ships in Alien resembles open legs, leading
the characters through a vaginal opening into the nesting place of the monsters (
Horror and the Monstrous Feminine 56). In Dracula, untamed nature itself represents
the monstrous feminine. The rural areas of Transylvania are set in stark contrast
with the urban England that represents the world of men and order. Jonathan
describes the foreign land as one of the wildest and least known portions of Europe
(Stoker 10). However, although the country s nature poses dangers in some regards
(for instance in the form of wolves) (Stoker 18), it is also a country which was full...

Like these other characters, Transylvania plays second fiddle to the normal occidental
England. Transylvania represents the East and therefore also the colonial other in
contrast to Britain s male dominated modern cities. The female vampires represent
the monstrous feminine women that are contrasted with the submissive and docile
Mina. Dracula himself is contrasted with the male heroic protagonists of the novel. It
is also noteworthy that we never get Dracula s perspective on the story just like we
never get the vampire women s perspective. What is more, the story is largely
focused on England s view whereas Transylvania becomes the oriental other. All these
others (characters and country alike) are marginalised through the narration, which is
only told through the dominant Western characters. Lucy is the only one to become
part of the monstrous feminine discourse, and the reader never gets insight into her
thoughts after her change into a
The Character of Mr. Jaggers in Great Expectations Essay
The Character of Mr. Jaggers in Great Expectations
Mr. Jaggers plays a pivotal role in the novel, Great Expectations, written by Charles
Dickens. We are first introduced to him in Chapter 11, where Pip encounters the
rather condescending lawyer on the stairs of Satis House. Pip describes Mr. Jaggers as
a burly man of an exceedingly dark complexion. We cannot help but notice that he is
extremely pontificating, by virtue of him holding Pip s chin and being almost sure
that Pip was of a bad set of fellows although he had scarcely known Pip for two
minutes.
Mr. Jaggers silent and terrifying ambiguity conjures mystery and enigma all around
him. We find that very little is mentioned of his background and that he has no family.

He seems to be constantly trying to rid his body of the contamination contracted
though his proximity with the morally reprehensible criminals that are his clients.
In fact, the criminal element is permanent in Mr. Jaggers. His home is nearly as
business like and callous as his office. By employing Molly, a murderess who
escaped the gallows not because of her innocence but because of Mr. Jaggers
professional skill, he uncannily casts the prison aura of Newgate over his home. In
short, he embodies the inhumanity of a legal system which puts the black letters of
the law before the spirit of justice.
The critic Edgar Johnson aptly remarked that Jaggers is too dangerous to despise. In
the novel, Mr. Jaggers holds all the clues to the plot. He is the lawyer for both Miss
Havisham and Magwitch, thus knowing the identities of Estella s mother and Pip s
benefactor. He is Pip s guardian and custodian, thus playing a major role in Pip s
education. He is somewhat like a filler of all the gaps in the plot; the connector in
an entangled web. In Chapter 51, it is through Mr. Jaggers that we finally learn the
mystery surrounding Estella s background. Again, we observe the careful and crafty
lawyer at work repeatedly reiterating the words Put the case. and I make no
admissions. to Pip as he narrates the account of Estella s past.
The scene at Mr. Jaggers London office lucidly portrays how the
Terrorism and Riots in Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is known for its humor, its accent, beautiful green hills, and their
weather. Although Ireland seems peaceful, more violence happens in the north then
you would think. There is terrorism and riots by the IRA used to prevent the British
Catholics from trying to change the island of Irelandto a catholic country. All this
violence started with the Act of Union over 200 years ago.
In Ireland and Great Britain in 1801, the British and Irish governments passed the Act
of Union, combining Ireland and England. During the next two hundred years the
islands of Ireland and Great Britain will change with war, terrorism, and riots in
Northern Ireland. During the mid 1800 s the Irish potato famine broke out, more than
one million died and more than two million were displaced.
In 1914 World War One began and British Parliament passed laws making Ireland
partially free. Two years later on Easter Sunday a giant revolt happens that would
later be named Easter Rising .
In 1945 World War Two ended. Eleven years after the Second World War ended the
Irish Republican Army, a paramilitary group, began. The IRA formed after a
suppressed rebellion fought for independence. Ireland was split in two parts and
twenty six counties. During the 20 year period after the beginning of the IRA, there
had been no stop to the violence. This time will be forever known as The Troubles.
The Troubles mark a time in which the IRA, PIRA (Provisional Irish Republican
Army), and RIRA (Real

The Role Of the Castrati in the Baroque Era
The Role Of the Castrati in the Baroque Era
When it comes to music history, the Castrati are one of the most important and
debated topics. The Castrati were men (in Italian opera) that had been castrated
during puberty to stop a flow of hormones, causing them to have the voice of a
soprano woman, but the vocal power of an older, full grown man. A general estimate
said that four thousand boys a year were castrated in Italy. Some Castrati tried to
make it in church choirs (which often gave them almost nothing of monetary value),
most chose the opera route. They reigned supreme when they got onstage, being the
obvious star of the show. They were the master performers that drew the crowd in
with their amazing voices. During the Baroque ... Show more content on

Even though he was a soprano, he also had an amazingly clear lower register,
where a tenor would most likely be comfortable. Farinelli showed off all the
sweetness of his voice wherever he traveled and was rewarded with roars of
applause. During this period of time, he did no wrong. He was famous beyond
belief, a formidable performer, and had honors upon honors. One of his most
famous performances involved him having a duet with a trumpet that turned into a
duel. Porpora, who was his teacher, spoke about the event: During the run of an
opera there was a struggle every night between Farinelli and a famous player on the
trumpet [...] After severally swelling a note in which each manifested the power of
his lungs and tried to rival the other in brilliancy and force, they had both a swell and
shake together, by thirds, which was continued so long [...] that both seemed
exhausted; and, in fact, the trumpeter, wholly spent, gave it up, thinking, however,
his antagonist as much tired as himself [...]; when Farinelli, with a smile on his
countenance, showing that he had only been sporting with him all that time, broke
out all at once in the same breath, with fresh vigor, and not only swelled and shook
the note, but ran the most rapid and difficult divisions and was at last silenced only
by the acclamations of the audience. From this period may be dated the superiority
which he ever maintained over all his contemporaries.

Boundary value analysis focuses on the boundary of the input space to identify
test cases. The basic idea of boundary value analysis is to use input variable values
at their minimum, just above the minimum, a nominal value, just below their
maximum, and their maximum. Another part of boundary value analysis is based
on a critical assumption; it is known as the single fault assumption in reliability
theory. This states that failures are only rarely the result of the simultaneous
occurrence of two or more faults. Therefore the boundary value analysis test cases
are obtained by holding the values of all but one variable at their nominal values,
and letting that variable assume its extreme values. The basic boundary value
analysis technique can be generalized in two ways: by the number of variables and
by the kinds of ranges. Boundary value analysis does not make much sense for
Boolean variables. The extreme values are True and False. Logical variables also
present a problem for boundary value analysis. Boundary value analysis works well
when the program to be tested is a function of several independent variables that
represent bounded physical quantities. i.)Robustness TestingRobustness testing is a
simple extension of boundary value analysis. Most of the discussion of boundary
value analysis applies directly to robustness testing. This is especially true
Mass Incarceration In Criminal Justice
Adversity is condition all humanity must preserve through, so people can find their
true selves. Fighting adversity is concurrent to American society; but, the criminal
justice s usage of mass incarceration affronts this American idealism. Due to big
business standing to gain from African American labor, the usage of mass
incarceration is reminiscent to American slavery which encourages an inequality
which society does not acknowledge.
Mass incarceration is the racial caste system which has resulted in millions of
African Americans imprisoned. Much of black men in urban areas are incumbered
with criminal records which deprives them of basic human rights; such as: the right
to vote and serve on juries, and the right to be free of legal discrimination.
Convicted felons are subject to forms of discrimination eerily like slavery and Jim
Crow practices. Truly, the United States criminal justice system functions as a racial
formation, where it mainly focuses on the socio historical process by which racial
categories are inhabited. Ultimately, the nation has been reluctant to face the racial
formation society abides by.
Racial formations exist to create a divide among society. In The New Jim Crows the
author foments, racial caste systems do not require racial hostility or overt bigotry to
thrive. They need only racial indifference, as Martin Luther King Jr. warned more
than forty five years ago. (Alexander). America utilizes a racial caste system of
institutionalized racism

Various Approaches Of System Analysis
Various Approaches for Systems Analysis and Design Introduction First, we look
what is the difference between system analysis and system design. System analysis is
a problem solving technique that decomposes the system into its component pieces
and system design is a complimentary problem solving technique that reassembles the
component pieces of the system back into a complete system. When we are
developing an information system, most organizations use a standard of steps. The
steps are called development lifecycle(SDLC). SDLC consists of phases such as
planning, analysis, implementation, design, and maintenance. Analysis phase is
where you take a closer look and study the current system. The design phase, analysts
design all aspects of the system, specifying on the system from input and output
screens to database, computers, and report processes. About System Analysis and
System Design There are a lot of technical activities that include: coding, design,

Unification of Germany Essay
From the 19th to 20th century nations were uniting behind the belief of
nationalism; the belief that their loyalty was owed to the nation as a whole. This
loyalty was believed to be owed to a nation of people who share a common history
and language as its core. Due to the growing want for true self government in
Europe, people began calling for unity. Once these nations were created,
governments wanted their country to be the strongest and most powerful. A
growing sense of pride by the people that their nation was the greatest led to wars to
prove who truly had the better military. This sense of unity brought to many a
purpose for their personal identity. Loyalty to one s nation was a core belief of

One of the notable leaders for Germany s unification was Wilhem I the King of
Prussia. Wilhem succeeded Frederick William in 1861. His support came widely
from middle class conservatives and wealthy landowners also called the Junkers or
nobility. The Junkers opposed the revolutionary liberals. Wilhem s proposals as
king were he wanted an increase in military strength and size. However at the time
Parliament the legal body of Prussia would not give in to his demands and refused
to give the king any money. This pushed Wilhem to appoint a new Prime Minister in
order to achieve his wish for of a bigger military. The most well know figure behind
the German unification was Otto von Bismarck or the Iron Chancellor a conservative
Junker. Bismarck was appointed as Wilhem s Prime Minister in 1862. Bismarck
believed in the idea of politics of reality or Realpolitik or a foreign policy based on
calculations of power and national interest ( Kassner 3).
Between 1864 and 1866 an alliance was forged between Austria and Prussia. After
unifying their alliance they declared war against Denmark in hopes of conquering

Video number three featured three presentations from Baroness Glenys Thornton,
Clifford Harding, and Henry Bonsu. All three of these presentations involved the
different perspectives that can take place in education, particularly in Great Britain
and how these minority groups are currently viewed as inferior within Great Britain.
Baroness Glenys Thornton took a larger sociological approach toward the
underrepresentation of minorities. Her presentation was based on the diversity of the
members of the British parliament as well as the diversity of the other portions of the
British government. She stated that minority groups are underrepresented by a margin
of about three percent of the current population in the British parliament.
Clifford Harding took a more individualized approach to this issue. Clifford didn t
really grow up in the best living conditions, and he was involved in some
questionable things such as drugs. He said that was often told that he was dumb and
stupid when he was in school (mainly due to the fact that he was dyslexic) and that it
would be safe to say that these taunts would discourage many people from continuing
their education if they were faced with these messages.
Henry Bonsu added onto Clifford Harding s message in his presentation. Bonsu s
message was that we all have the ability to do anything we want to in schools. The
only reason that we feel as if we won t do well is that we think we won t do well. As

we could lose the backbone that built American and the only force that could have

Corporate headquarters remain in America if they want to hire American workers
If they do not treat their employees with dignity, we will tax them heftily so the
government can provide their workers with things like paid family leave, equal pay,
and many more benefits.

College Dropout Causes
The Social Cause of College Drop Out Rates Fifty six percent of students who
enroll in college will drop out within 6 years due to the constant stress of balancing
work and school, expensive tuition, and high societal standards (Atlas 1). The
typical college freshman is not mentally or emotionally prepared for
college.(Allianz Tuition Insurance) The college drop out rate is seventy one
percent higher due to balancing work and school because students do not know
how to properly manage their time. With working so many hours, students tend to
get overwhelmed because their time is limited when it comes to studying for tests,
quizzes, homework, or finals. Being in the workforce and going to school full time
interferes in your in and out of class study time. The article The Struggle of Work
School balance states Working full time can shrink the chance that students will
graduate at all, by cutting into the time available for studying and attending classes
( TheAtlantic). The social aspect of balancing work and college are usually
students who come from different racial backgrounds. Usually that are from a
Hispanic or Black background but are also older in age (TheAtlantic). This leads
back to a social issue because it shows how the system wants the lower minority
group to fail.( ). Due to not having the means to afford the universitybut also wants
them to fail so they can stay in the bluecolor community instead of making it big().

It said, There is an underwater island, in the middle of the ocean, I need someone
to find it and rise it so that the sun and the moon is balanced. She didn t understand
what the message meant, but she thinks it s a great challenge, and she loves
challenges. This challenge would show that she is a risk taker. So, she went home
and packed clothes, rope, and other supplies. She put comfortable clothes on, but
when she looked in the mirror, she stared, for a long period of time, at ... Show more

They know this because the on the back of the message, the key was half way from
the island. Before, they can start their journey to the island, they have to get a good
sleep. So, they went to the bottom of the boat and went to sleep. Keohi couldn t
sleep because all he is thinking about is finding the island. Kaimana was relieved
that she could sleep. Afterall, she did kill two of the three sharks swam to the bottom
of the ocean.
It was morning and Keohi got fish and put it over a fire he made with a lighter he
had and pieces of paper. He cooked it in a pot he found on the boat. Kaimana got up
to the amazing smell of fish. They ate and rest their stomachs for about 15 minutes.
On the wait, they talked about what is going to happen when they find the island.
Kaimana said, I am going to make sure the moon and sun are balanced.
But, she still doesn t know what the island does that makes the moon and sun
Utilitarianism Consequences Essay
Consequences: Utilitarianism In chapter 9, I found utilitarianism the most intriguing
lesson. It is a theory of ethics that assesses actions based on maximizing benefits in
reducing the negatives; based on bouncing human interests. It was developed by
Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill, it is a socially conscious approach to
hedonism that holds that the greatest good is to promote happinessand alleviate
suffering for the greatest number of people. ( Chaffee, 9.3) Utilitarianismis the most
common moral theory practiced in the business world today, to break down what it is
basically is moralityof an act is judged by it s utility. The greatest utility that it has for
the most people; the greatest usefulness an act has for the most people,
The Physics Of Continuum Mechanics
In continuum mechanics, a Newtonian Fluids is a fluid that the viscous stress
arising from its flow, at every point, are linearly proportional to the local strain rate.
The reason we research Newtonian Fluids is that Newtonian fluids are the simplest
mathematical models of fluids that account for viscosity. In natural world, there are
many common liquids and gases that can be assumed to be Newtonian Fluids. For
example, water, alcohol, thin oil, air, and most of pure liquids. Newtonian fluids get
the name by Isaac Newton, who is one of the most famous scientists in the world. He
is the first person who found the relation between the rate of shear strain and shear
stressfor such fluids in differential form. Newtonian Fluids can be also called linearly
viscous fluid, which has been found to describe adequately the mechanical behavior
of many real fluids under a wide range of situations. In order to study Newtonian
Fluids, we need to understand the concept of fluids.
A liquid is a nearly incompressible fluid that will suit to the its container s shape.
However, its volume always independent of pressure. There are four basic states of
matter. They are solid, gas, plasma, and liquid. Besides, Liquid is the only state
with a definite volume but no fixed shape. Water is the most common liquid on
Earth. Liquid and gas are similar in many ways. Both of them can flow and take the
shape of a container. However, most liquids cannot be compressed as others. Also
liquids will not to
A Lost Lady By Willa Cather
The setting of A Lost Lady is the beautiful prairies and flyover regions of the
United States. These open areas of rolling hills, grasslands, and wildflowers are
often overlooked, but are none the less a pleasant view, as well as an important part
of America s history. Another aspect of America s history that is often overlooked,
but not as pleasant, is the idea of gender roles and the objectification of women. In
Willa Cathers A Lost Lady, Mrs. Forrester is able to break through and overcome
such objectivity that her husband, Captain Forrester, and her younger friend, Niel
Herbert have placed on her. To fully grasp Marian Forrester s breakthrough of
female objectivity, it is important to understand how her husband objectified her
throughout the novel. First, the Forresters are prominent figures in their society
and are viewed as a high class family because of his work on the railroads and for
his beautiful wife. Being so well respected, Captain Forrester often had company
and visitors to his house for dinner or other gatherings. During such events, Marian
Forrester s sole role was to greet those visitors. This is an example of Captain
Forrester s objectification because it gratified him [Captain Forrester] to see men
who were older than himself leap nimbly to the ground and run up the front steps as
Mrs. Forrester came out on the porch to greet them (Cather 10). The quote from the
novel expains that many men were impressed or infatuated with Marian s physical

System Thinking Is The Process Of Understanding How
Things...
System thinking is the process of understanding how things influence one another
within a system. Russell L. Ackoff, Dr. W. Edwards Deming, and Peter Senge s
define, think differently, and have different approaches of system thinking. Russell L.
Ackoff was born on February 12, 1919 in Philadelphia. He was a pioneer in the field
of operations research, systems thinking and managementscience. (Russell L. Ackoff)
He received his bachelor degree in architecture at the University of Pennsylvania in
1941. In 1942 to 1946, he served in the U.S. Army. After his return he went on to
study at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his doctorate in
philosophy of science in 1947 as C. West Churchman s first doctoral student.
(Russell L. Ackoff) Russell L. Ackoff says the typical way management has been
trained in the western world is to divide any complex system into parts, and then
try to manage each part as best as you can. If these were to be divided into parts we
would believe two things which are any problem can be solved, and the system as a
whole will behave well. Ackoff goes on to say these are false because it s possible to
improve the performance of each part taken separately and destroy the system at the
same time. (Production Management: A Total Quality Management Approach)
Ackoff defines a system as a whole containing two or more parts that contains the five
conditions. The first condition is the whole has one or more important properties or
functions. The

registering any vehicle in your state. Each state follows different rules and
regulations, when it comes to vehicle registration, and thus, it is imperative to have
a good knowledge about them. You will only get insurance coverage if your

you participate in two different schemes, i.e. the Lifetime Care and Support scheme
and the Third party Insurance scheme. The Lifetime Care and Support scheme is
regulated by the Motor Accidents Act 2006 whereas the Third party Insurance
scheme is regulated by the Motor Accidents Compensation Act 1999. There are many
licensed companies, providing green slips in Australia. They are regulated by the
Motor Accidents Authority of each state and must comply with the Motor Accidents

Money In Congress When the founders of the United States created this country, they wanted the citizens to have an election system which was fair, and they did not want outside influences affecting these elections. However, through out our countries history, money has been able to influence elections. Therefore, it is important that the government install a limit on how much one can contribute to a campaign. Because of this, congress has worked vary hard to limit the amount of money that one is able to contribute during a federal election. While congress had been working hard for decades to make these laws, this has not been the case in Illinois. The new law stated that during primary election, these committees are only allowed to contribute $200,000 to candidates for statewide office. Furthermore, they are only allowed to contribute $125,000 for state senate elections, some judicial elections, and some county elections. Moreover, political parties and legislative caucus committees are also only allowed to contribute $75,000 for state representative elections, Finally, the bill states that these committees are only allowed to contribute $50,000 for any other election in Illinois. Although this act states how much a political party is allowed to contribute to a candidate, this new legislation also documents how much money these committees are allowed to receive during an election cycle. The act states that during an election cycle, a political party is only allowed to accept $10,000 of contributions from an individual, $50,000 of contributions from a political action committee, and $20,000 of contributions from a corporation and labor organization. Because this legislation does not place a spending restriction legislative caucus committees and political party committees to in the genial election, It has caused many people to believe that these new laws are

However, the company s concept has some potential problems. The company did not mention how to minimize the risk of hurting women s health when they proceeded to collect their eggs. Furthermore, the business plan did not include the best use time of the storage eggs. If the eggs were expected to keep in years, the quality of eggs could not be ensured. Finally, they did not offer a strong report to state the potential issues of using freezing eggs. Would the technique influence the health of babies? Competitors The competitors were the local fertility clinics. The largest clinic had eight doctors and took 5% market shares. Some of the clinics were able to similar services to Extend Fertility but were at the disadvantage to the company. The firm was the only one got FDA proved

In January of 1996, Ford merged its North American, South American, Asia Pacific, European, and African Automotive Operations into a single organization, Ford Automotive Operations. This merger cut back on costs of developing new cars because now instead of five different organizations working on the same project only one organization would work on it. This decreased the amount of time and labor needed to improve or design new cars. In return the price of Ford products declined, resulting in more sales. Another approach of Ford was to enter joint ventures with foreign companies. Through these joint ventures the foreign companies would produce and assemble Ford automobiles for sale in that country. Ford is trying to assure future sales by researching vehicles that contain plastics that can be recycled into common materials. Also, Ford is currently working with the U. S. Diseases under the heart disease umbrella include blood vessel diseases, such as coronary artery disease; heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias); and heart defects you re born with (congenital heart defects), among others . (1) Many people will either use the term cardiovascular disease or heartdisease to describe a cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease generally refers to conditions that involve narrowed or blocked blood vessels that can lead to a heart attack, chest pain (angina) or stroke. Other heart conditions, such as those that affect your heart s muscle, valves or rhythm, also are considered forms of heart disease . (1) A person might not be diagnosed with cardiovascular disease until they experience a cardiovascular episode. Which is very scary if you think about it? That is why it is extremely important to watch for known symptoms. Cardiovascular disease symptoms may be different for men and women. For instance, men are more likely to have chest pain; women are more likely to have other symptoms along with chest discomfort, such as shortness of breath, nausea and extreme fatigue. If any of these symptoms are noticed especially in tandem with one another a person needs to discuss any of these concerns immediately with their physician. • 10. Enuma Elish Vs Genesis Oral Roberts University Survey of the Old Testament Essay # 1 Victor Francis Mavika Survey OF Old Testament Prof. Martin Lyons 21 September 2017 There are multiple debates and arguments concerning the creation story of both mankind and the universe from the Bible and the Babylonian creation poem the Enuma Elish. There is a debate on whether the two accounts have similarities or one of them borrowed its content from the other. Enuma Elish is a great Assyrian poem which narrates the story of the creation of the world and man. The poem contains what the old empires believed concerning the creation of the universe. This Babylonian and Assyrian poem gives an account of how Apsu (fresh water) and Tiamat (sea water) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then God said, Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. (Gen 1:26). Contrary to Genesis, in EE man is a servant to the gods. The main purpose of man s creation was for the gods to be free from work. Their work was mainly to lessen all types of physical labor to the gods. That the service of the gods may be established, and that their shrines may be built (cf. EE VI.5 9). It was God s purpose for man to take care of the garden. Contrary to EE, God s purpose was not to lessen the number of activities he had; He wanted to have fellowship with man. Thirdly, both accounts express the existence of chaotic state before creation. The fact is there is no order depicted in both accounts. In verses two of Genesis the Bible states ...Now the earth was formless and empty. No presence of any living creature because of this chaotic nature. Similarly, to Genesis account, EE chaotic nature of the universe is mainly due to the absence of gods. Tiamat and Apsu both represent aspects of the physical world. Apsu is a god of fresh water and fertility while Tiamat goddess of the sea, therefore, chaos and threat. The fierce battle between Marduk and Tiamat replaces Apsu and Tiamat Chaotic nature. And
  • 11. Comparing Emerson And Thoreau During the nineteenth century, the new philosophical trend of transcendentalism occurred. Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, two contemporary authors, expressed transcendentalist ideas through their writing. Their perspectives of nature and society were both very similar. They believe people need to simplify their lives, and spend time in nature. To them, nature is the key to peace and tranquillity that people knowingly and unknowingly seek. Herman Melville, another contemporary author of that time, has a very different view of nature. Through Moby Dick, he expresses his ideas that nature is essentially evil. He thinks that it is dangerous, and in order to protect yourself you need to go on the offense against it. Thoreau and Emerson urge people to live a peaceful, simplistic life and they think that spending time in nature, which is essentially good, is the key to doing so, while Melville thinks that nature is a destructive force that people should either avoid or fight. Emerson is one of the first people to introduce the idea of nature being the key to peace. He insists that the natural world is beautiful, and people should spend their time in it. In his essay Nature, Emerson says Nature never wears a mean appearance/Nature never becomes a toy to a wise spirit (Emerson 1).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By living in the wilderness, he finds true peace and harmony. Like Emerson, he thinks that nature is beautiful, gentle, and everybody should spend time in it. Thoreau used nature to intertwine with his spirituality, such as in Walden when he says I got up early and bathed in the pond; that was a religious exercise, and one of the best things which I did (Thoreau 6). This was a way for him to become closer to the universe through nature. He thought that by doing this each morning he was given new strength for the

The Comparison of Themes between Lord of the Flies and Animal Farm The author of Animal Farm, Orwell, tells a story of a farmyard tragedy and the deadly lives of a group of animals. Due to the disappearance of humans, Napoleon abuses his power and gradually transforms into a human. Orwell also used animals to clarify that humans are corrupted due to power. The author of Lord of the Flies, Golding, shows a similar story where it is about life and death situation for a group of lost boys on a island that is trying to establish a democracy while on the island. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The characters of the novel are fit to the theme of man s intuitive evilness, as the boys are under the age of 14. When they continue to enjoy torturing others, they reveal their enjoyment of being savages. They do not desire any order or law of directing force in their state of savagery. In Animal Farm, George Orwell uses satirical allegory throughout his novel to present the pessimistic view of human nature. The animal fable is used to demonstrate the issues of unfair treatment, exploitation and inequality in society. It is evident that this irony is particularly evident in the ending of both novels (Gulbin 88). The satirist irony is directed on the events of the Russian Revolution and on the totalitarian regime. Orwell uses political reason with creative reason to show his negative belief that people only change the dictators though revolutions but the systems stay the same. It is only a dream that people can gain a classless society through revolutions. Orwell believes that everyone wants equality, yet it is in one s nature as human beings to obtain power. Napoleon, who is represented as an evil power hungry pig, becomes the villain that destroys the farm through his manipulative acts such as abusing the animals, cutting rations, increasing labor, and in the end making an imbalance of equality. The revolution that promised freedom delivered for some the strong, the well armed, and slavery for all the others (Donald E. Morse 89). Instead of

Long term care for elders is transitioning from the skilled nursing facilities to community based settings such as assisted living facilities, retirement communitities, home health and adult day care facilities. This leaves the traditional nursing home faced with the changing needs of health care in our society. It is forecasted that skilled nursing facilities will become the transitional acute care centers for rehabilitation as hospitals are now discharging complex patients earlier than before to satisfy HMO s and financial restraints. The ma and pa nursing home of the past will have to succumb to this drastic change in order to survive financially. • 15. Greek Tophet In addition to the forensic evidence, there is a large body of epigraphic evidence to draw on that further proves that the Tophet was connected to child sacrifice. One such inscription states quite clearly what the Tophet was used for: It was to the Lady Thinnith Phanebal and to Baalhammun that Bomilcar bin Hanno bin Milkiathon vowed son of his own flesh. Bless thou him! Clearly, this inscription indicates that a child was sacrificed to Ba al Hammon and the important Carthaginian goddess, Tanit. Diodorus wrote about how the Carthaginians would sacrifice the children of noble families to honour Cronos. He also wrote about an incident where in Carthage was put under siege; the Carthaginians, fearing that the gods had abandoned them (due to the fact that Carthaginian nobles had been buying to children to sacrifice in place of their own), sacrificed two hundred noble children. Now, his account is very sensationalist; for example, the evidence shows that on average around one to two burials were made per year; so Diodorus account of two hundred children being sacrificed, is likely false. Plutarch writes something very similar in his essay On Superstition. Plutarch writes that the Carthaginians would sacrifice their own children (or children that had been purchased from the poor for the sole purpose of sacrifice) to Cronos. Like Diodorus, Plutarch is also very sensationalist, he writes that mothers would be forced to watch the sacrifice, and would be forbidden from shedding tears or crying. Another source is the Roman philosopher Porphyry, who writes that in times of war, plagues, and draughts, would choose to sacrifice someone to Kronos. Interestingly, Porphyry differs from most other ancient accounts in that he does not say that they sacrifice children, simply that they sacrificed someone close to them. There are many more accounts of child sacrifice, from a wide variety of ancient sources, but ultimately they end up saying very little. The only common denominator amongst the sources is that human sacrifice was practiced in Carthage. So, ultimately the literary sources are of little value in actually determining the

  • 19. Descriptive Essay About Michaelmas Michaelmas Every year, on the colorful fall day of September 29th, Sacramento Waldorf School hosts a festival where good triumphs and evil parishes. Young girls and boys eagerly dress up as knights, to help Saint George and Saint Michael conquer and tame the malicious dragon, through good actions and deeds. Along with fun activities, caramel apples, and motivating spirit, Michaelmas is a special way to prepare students for the challenging academic year ahead. Michaelmas is a whole school event, where grades first through twelve are assigned a different role, to put on a show that has its own unique twist each time. The roles include villagers (played by first through fourth grade), Knights (played by the fifth grade) the dragon (Played by the sixth grade), Lords and nobles (played by seventh through eleventh grade) and lastly, Saint George and Saint Michael(played by twelfth graders). The story told is a classic good vs. evil, preformed inside a giant circle, created by everyone attending the festival. A town of poor villages are fearful of a dragon, who is merciless and cruel. One day, the dragon attacks the village, leaving the villagers desperate and frightened. All the noble knights flee in fear, except for one, Saint George. Saint George bravely faces the dragon, but instead of using his sword, he kneels and prays to saint Michael to give him wisdom and strength. Michael appears out of the heavens, and empowers Saint George, with courage, and kindness. Saint George

The Character of Mr. Jaggers in Great Expectations Essay The Character of Mr. Jaggers in Great Expectations Mr. Jaggers plays a pivotal role in the novel, Great Expectations, written by Charles Dickens. We are first introduced to him in Chapter 11, where Pip encounters the rather condescending lawyer on the stairs of Satis House. Pip describes Mr. Jaggers as a burly man of an exceedingly dark complexion. We cannot help but notice that he is extremely pontificating, by virtue of him holding Pip s chin and being almost sure that Pip was of a bad set of fellows although he had scarcely known Pip for two minutes. Mr. Jaggers silent and terrifying ambiguity conjures mystery and enigma all around him. We find that very little is mentioned of his background and that he has no family. ... He seems to be constantly trying to rid his body of the contamination contracted though his proximity with the morally reprehensible criminals that are his clients. In fact, the criminal element is permanent in Mr. Jaggers. His home is nearly as business like and callous as his office. By employing Molly, a murderess who escaped the gallows not because of her innocence but because of Mr. Jaggers professional skill, he uncannily casts the prison aura of Newgate over his home. In short, he embodies the inhumanity of a legal system which puts the black letters of the law before the spirit of justice. The critic Edgar Johnson aptly remarked that Jaggers is too dangerous to despise. In the novel, Mr. Jaggers holds all the clues to the plot. He is the lawyer for both Miss Havisham and Magwitch, thus knowing the identities of Estella s mother and Pip s benefactor. He is Pip s guardian and custodian, thus playing a major role in Pip s education. He is somewhat like a filler of all the gaps in the plot; the connector in an entangled web. Porpora, who was his teacher, spoke about the event: During the run of an opera there was a struggle every night between Farinelli and a famous player on the trumpet [...] After severally swelling a note in which each manifested the power of his lungs and tried to rival the other in brilliancy and force, they had both a swell and shake together, by thirds, which was continued so long [...] that both seemed exhausted; and, in fact, the trumpeter, wholly spent, gave it up, thinking, however, his antagonist as much tired as himself [...]; when Farinelli, with a smile on his countenance, showing that he had only been sporting with him all that time, broke out all at once in the same breath, with fresh vigor, and not only swelled and shook the note, but ran the most rapid and difficult divisions and was at last silenced only by the acclamations of the audience. Boundary value analysis focuses on the boundary of the input space to identify test cases. The basic idea of boundary value analysis is to use input variable values at their minimum, just above the minimum, a nominal value, just below their maximum, and their maximum. Another part of boundary value analysis is based on a critical assumption; it is known as the single fault assumption in reliability theory. This states that failures are only rarely the result of the simultaneous occurrence of two or more faults. Therefore the boundary value analysis test cases are obtained by holding the values of all but one variable at their nominal values, and letting that variable assume its extreme values. The basic boundary value analysis technique can be generalized in two ways: by the number of variables and by the kinds of ranges. Boundary value analysis does not make much sense for Boolean variables. The extreme values are True and False. Logical variables also present a problem for boundary value analysis. Boundary value analysis works well when the program to be tested is a function of several independent variables that represent bounded physical quantities. i.)Robustness TestingRobustness testing is a simple extension of boundary value analysis. Most of the discussion of boundary value analysis applies directly to robustness testing. This is especially true

Fighting adversity is concurrent to American society; but, the criminal justice s usage of mass incarceration affronts this American idealism. Due to big business standing to gain from African American labor, the usage of mass incarceration is reminiscent to American slavery which encourages an inequality which society does not acknowledge. Mass incarceration is the racial caste system which has resulted in millions of African Americans imprisoned. Much of black men in urban areas are incumbered with criminal records which deprives them of basic human rights; such as: the right to vote and serve on juries, and the right to be free of legal discrimination. System analysis is a problem solving technique that decomposes the system into its component pieces and system design is a complimentary problem solving technique that reassembles the component pieces of the system back into a complete system. When we are developing an information system, most organizations use a standard of steps. The steps are called development lifecycle(SDLC). SDLC consists of phases such as planning, analysis, implementation, design, and maintenance. Analysis phase is where you take a closer look and study the current system. College Dropout Causes The Social Cause of College Drop Out Rates Fifty six percent of students who enroll in college will drop out within 6 years due to the constant stress of balancing work and school, expensive tuition, and high societal standards (Atlas 1). The typical college freshman is not mentally or emotionally prepared for college.(Allianz Tuition Insurance) The college drop out rate is seventy one percent higher due to balancing work and school because students do not know how to properly manage their time. With working so many hours, students tend to get overwhelmed because their time is limited when it comes to studying for tests, quizzes, homework, or finals. Being in the workforce and going to school full time interferes in your in and out of class study time. The article The Struggle of Work School balance states Working full time can shrink the chance that students will graduate at all, by cutting into the time available for studying and attending classes ( TheAtlantic). The social aspect of balancing work and college are usually students who come from different racial backgrounds. Usually that are from a Hispanic or Black background but are also older in age (TheAtlantic). This leads back to a social issue because it shows how the system wants the lower minority group to fail.( ). Due to not having the means to afford the universitybut also wants them to fail so they can stay in the bluecolor community instead of making it big(). Also students from

These are phrases a person will hear during the Christmas holiday season in the United States. The season of giving and spending time with family is not only celebrated in the United States, but in countries all over the world. A particular country located in South America, also celebrates Christmasas one of their most significant holidays of the year. In Peru, one may hear Peruvians shouting out Feliz Navidad or on Christmas Eve Noche Buena translating to Goodnight. [transition] Due to the strong Christian beliefs in America and Peru, the commemoration of the Christmas season and some of their respective traditions are similar; but differences do exist in the way they celebrate the season. [add three points] In preparation for such a significant holiday, people of the U.S. are often found decorating immediately after the previous holiday, Thanksgiving, which is dated the last Thursday in November; some families even began decorating before Thanksgiving. • 42. One Day Analysis In June, 2003 Kaimana, a girl that loves to walk on the beach, took a stroll on her favorite beach. She loves to walk on the beach because she like the feel on the sand in between her toes. She likes the breeze blowing in her hair and the view of the water. While she was walking, she found a glass bottle, with a light brown cork as the cover. She opened it, and a message flew out of it. It said, There is an underwater island, in the middle of the ocean, I need someone to find it and rise it so that the sun and the moon is balanced. She didn t understand what the message meant, but she thinks it s a great challenge, and she loves challenges. This challenge would show that she is a risk taker. They ate and rest their stomachs for about 15 minutes. On the wait, they talked about what is going to happen when they find the island. It is a theory of ethics that assesses actions based on maximizing benefits in reducing the negatives; based on bouncing human interests. It was developed by Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill, it is a socially conscious approach to hedonism that holds that the greatest good is to promote happinessand alleviate suffering for the greatest number of people. • 44. The Physics Of Continuum Mechanics In continuum mechanics, a Newtonian Fluids is a fluid that the viscous stress arising from its flow, at every point, are linearly proportional to the local strain rate. The reason we research Newtonian Fluids is that Newtonian fluids are the simplest mathematical models of fluids that account for viscosity. In natural world, there are many common liquids and gases that can be assumed to be Newtonian Fluids. For example, water, alcohol, thin oil, air, and most of pure liquids. Newtonian fluids get the name by Isaac Newton, who is one of the most famous scientists in the world. He is the first person who found the relation between the rate of shear strain and shear stressfor such fluids in differential form. Newtonian Fluids can be also called linearly viscous fluid, which has been found to describe adequately the mechanical behavior of many real fluids under a wide range of situations. In order to study Newtonian Fluids, we need to understand the concept of fluids. A liquid is a nearly incompressible fluid that will suit to the its container s shape. However, its volume always independent of pressure. There are four basic states of matter. They are solid, gas, plasma, and liquid. Besides, Liquid is the only state with a definite volume but no fixed shape. Water is the most common liquid on Earth. Liquid and gas are similar in many ways. Both of them can flow and take the shape of a container. However, most liquids cannot be compressed as others. Also liquids will not to
  • 45. A Lost Lady By Willa Cather The setting of A Lost Lady is the beautiful prairies and flyover regions of the United States. These open areas of rolling hills, grasslands, and wildflowers are often overlooked, but are none the less a pleasant view, as well as an important part of America s history. Another aspect of America s history that is often overlooked, but not as pleasant, is the idea of gender roles and the objectification of women. In Willa Cathers A Lost Lady, Mrs. Forrester is able to break through and overcome such objectivity that her husband, Captain Forrester, and her younger friend, Niel Herbert have placed on her. To fully grasp Marian Forrester s breakthrough of female objectivity, it is important to understand how her husband objectified her throughout the novel. First, the Forresters are prominent figures in their society and are viewed as a high class family because of his work on the railroads and for his beautiful wife. Being so well respected, Captain Forrester often had company and visitors to his house for dinner or other gatherings. During such events, Marian Forrester s sole role was to greet those visitors. This is an example of Captain Forrester s objectification because it gratified him [Captain Forrester] to see men who were older than himself leap nimbly to the ground and run up the front steps as Mrs. Forrester came out on the porch to greet them (Cather 10). The quote from the novel expains that many men were impressed or infatuated with Marian s physical

  • 47. System Thinking Is The Process Of Understanding How Things... System thinking is the process of understanding how things influence one another within a system. Russell L. Ackoff, Dr. W. Edwards Deming, and Peter Senge s define, think differently, and have different approaches of system thinking. Russell L. Ackoff was born on February 12, 1919 in Philadelphia. He was a pioneer in the field of operations research, systems thinking and managementscience. (Russell L. Ackoff) He received his bachelor degree in architecture at the University of Pennsylvania in 1941. In 1942 to 1946, he served in the U.S. Army. After his return he went on to study at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his doctorate in philosophy of science in 1947 as C. West Churchman s first doctoral student. (Russell L. Ackoff) Russell L. Ackoff says the typical way management has been trained in the western world is to divide any complex system into parts, and then try to manage each part as best as you can. If these were to be divided into parts we would believe two things which are any problem can be solved, and the system as a whole will behave well. Ackoff goes on to say these are false because it s possible to improve the performance of each part taken separately and destroy the system at the same time. (Production Management: A Total Quality Management Approach) Ackoff defines a system as a whole containing two or more parts that contains the five conditions. The first condition is the whole has one or more important properties or functions. The
