The Importance Of Choosing A Career
Choosing a career is an immense decision that not only impacts your life but also
the lives of others. When we consider job occupations, several things come
promptly to mind. We think about job description and duties, the training and
education required, job outlook, and annual salaries. These are just a few of the
factors I considered when searching for a profession. Since I was a child, I always
knew that I wanted to be in the medical field. I wanted a profession in which I
would be afforded the opportunity to make a difference in someone else s life. So I
started to examine my interests and skills, how long I wanted to be in school, the
type of salary I wanted to make and the potential for job growth in the industry. After
investigating potential careers, I figured out exactly what I wanted to be: a
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. I chose a career in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
because the job outlook is bright, the pay is exceptional, I have most of the essential
skills, and I can see myself performing this job for years to come.
When it came to choosing a career, I wanted a profession where the pay is decent
and there are plentiful jobs in the workforce. Health careers are some of the fastest
growing jobs in the U.S. and Diagnostic Medical Sonography is no exception. Due to
innovations in technology and the increased dependence on diagnostic imaging for
medical diagnosis, employment is projected to grow much faster as more individuals
are needed to fill
Behind the Zoo
What makes an object worth collecting? Curiosity is an important aspect of
collecting. With the spread of colonies, there was an affinity to discover the
unknown, or rather, the different. The nineteenth century paved the way for many
sponsored expedition, looking for curios. Found object; vases, pots and pans, tools
of everyday use, gained an importance, as curios. Nature has captivated the human
cognizance since man first acquired tools, it would only be natural for the curiosity
to extend to the subject of new flora and fauna. By means of collecting it is possible
to establish a personal identity or characterize the other and often identifying this
other as a conquest.
This idea of conquest can be analyzed in the manner in which collection is presented,
making presenting as important an aspect as the collection itself.
The oldest zoological collection was a transportable one which contained every
known species, however only two of each animal, one male and one female, collected
by Noah as recounted in Genesis. Not does Noah get credit for conceptualizing the
zoo, but as highlighted by John Elsner and Roger Cardinal s introduction in The
Cultures of Collecting, he was also the first collector. Granted it was under the
request of a higher power, but in some way every collection emphasizes a purpose
or some secret desire. While we can choose to believe this to be true or not, the
lesson to be taken here is that collections can be thrust on its collector. Two of the
A Report On The Enterprise Leasing Company
As previously stated the company expanded to different states and Jack changed the
name in 1969 to the Enterprise Leasing Company, in honor of the U.S.S. Enterprise
aircraft carrier upon which he served in the Navy (Tucker Salamie, 2005). The
energy crises of the 1970s hindered Enterprise Leasing Company s expansion, but
accelerated growth occurred in the 1980s, even though Hertz and National entered the
hometown market. According to Tucker and Salamie (2005), a key ingredient to
Enterprises success was the innovative CustomerGiveaway Accounts, which allowed
any Enterprise employee to charge off items up to a certain amount in order to satisfy
customers (p. 2) To motivate employees the company instituted an array of bonus
plans and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this time, revenues were 4.73 billion and growth was now heading towards an
international path. Enterprise continued to focus on delivering top notch customer
service, but as the the company progressed, customers rated Enterprise with less than
satisfactory scores for service. CEO, Andy Taylor was stunned by the customer data,
which indicated the foundation of the family company had a fault and needed
immediate attention. Enterprise recognized three factors that drive customer
satisfaction are attitude and helpfulness of employees, speed of transaction, and
cleanliness of cars (Taylor, 2004, p. 17). As a result, the company began the process
of developing a measurement tool for customer service satisfaction known as an
Enterprise Service Quality index (ESQi). Originally, the survey was mailed to
customers on a quarterly basis in each region and the response was good, but the
results did not divulge any new information to Enterprise. Therefore, Enterprise
adjusted the scope of the survey, gathering data from individual branches, and
instituted a customer phone survey, which allowed the company to provide prompt
feedback to each branch. In addition, Enterprise ranks each branch and publishes the
ESQi score from highest to lowest performers using the data as an employee
compensation strategy to determine promotion within the company. Furthermore,
ESQi has helped create the Enterprise way a management framework known as the
The Pros And Cons Of Minority Voting
Historically in America, voting has been a relatively discriminatory practice. It has
limited and deprived many individuals of many diverse races, ethnicities, and walks
of life from casting their votes to select the individual who they feel is most
educated, and skilled to represent their interests. Not only has this been proven to be
wrong by discriminating minoritygroups in voting, it also has proved to be a process,
which minimizes the largest growing demographics in the country. Furthermore, with
millennials growing to become more politically active, minority groups are becoming
more politically involved than ever. Taking this into account an important question
that is raised by the author William Eskridge in his book Legislation and Statutory
Interpretation is Would minoritiesbe better off with more representatives who had to
pay attention to their interests because they are a powerful and organized
constituency, rather than with a few representatives of minority districts who
specialize in protecting only their interests? (Eskridge,Frickley, Garrett, 2006, pp.55).
The answer to this question is yes. Minorities would be better off with more
representatives who had to pay attention to their interests, because they are a powerful
constituency. Currently there are three historical methods to dilute minority voting
strengths. These are pointed out best in the short film by the American Civil Liberties
Union (ACLU) political scientist Laughlin McDonald. Here Mr.
The Negative Use Of Social Media
Social media has many unique uses, and is an invaluable tool. While it can be
harmful, and even dangerous, when you understand how to use it and what it
should be used for it can greatly enhance your life. One of the many ways social
media is beneficial is that it can help students who have just graduated from
college find a job. There are hundreds of networking sites out there that a student
can use to get there resume in front of the right people, and even doing something
as simple as creating a blog about your job search and skill set can mean the
difference between getting hired a month after graduation and a year after
graduation. Sites like LinkedIn, Jobster, and Simplyhired are designed to help
people find jobs in all fields. LinkedIn in particular, allows you to upload a resume,
write a personal statement, add a profile picture, and connect with potential
employers, friends who are pursuing a similar career, and family members who
already have a job in the field you are looking in. Students can create a profile on
LinkedIn before they graduate, and include information about internships they
completed while in College, volunteer work they may have done, athletic
involvement, leadership roles they held while in school, and a copy of their current
transcript. This will enable them to get in front of employers early, and hopefully
cause employers to think about their name when it comes time to start hiring. Once
students graduate, they can add information about where
Critical Analysis Of Metropolis
Metropolis, the 1927 sci fi film by Fritz Lang, tackles themes of class,
industrialization, technological advancement and biblical prophecy; all while
demonstrating its cutting edge prowess in production design and cinematography.
Metropolis was created at a time in German film history when the German
Expressionismartistic movement was in full swing (Enticknap p.423). The vivid
yet papery cityscapes are the film s most overt representations of the German
expressionist movement, foregoing realism in order to enable the film to achieve a
level of imagination that would have otherwise been unobtainable. Bustling with
life, lights and automation, the futuristic world of the upper city is a marvel to
behold. In contrast, the depth of the city, inhabited by the workers, feature jagged
and distorted buildings that loom over the broken people of the lower class as they
disband from their days of backbreaking and menial labor. The workplace of the
lower class being an industrial mess of cogs, lights, clocks, valves and pipes.
Metropolisfollows Freder (Gustav Fröhlich), a young upper class bachelor who is
the son of the most powerful man in the city, Joh Fredersen. Freder is characterized
by two defining motivations. The first is the simplistic and arguably hackneyed
motivation of the pursuit of love. When Freder encounters the lower class teacher
Maria in the gardens he becomes enamored and goes in search for her in the machine
rooms. Once in the industrial hell of the workers

York City, New York. These 2 were born free from slavery. This newspaper s
premier issue was put out on March 30, 1827. The words righteousness exalteth a
nation were on the front of the newspaper. This newspaper is and was a great
accomplishment for the black nation of people. Black people were still in channel
slavery in some places during this time. This newspaper had at least 800
subscribers, which is very good especially for the era that this paper was printed in.
Each subscription was $3 per year. There were a few subscriptions that were outside
of the country including, Haiti, Europe
Essay on The Cold Embrace
The Cold Embrace
The night in the city was going to be especially cold tonight. The sky had been
overcast for almost the entire day, leading to a brief although torrential downpour in
the mid afternoon. The streets of the Bronx outside the third story apartment window
that Leonard Jefferson Bennings now looked out were saturated from the July
rainstorm and shone with a glimmer he remembered seeing from his bedroom
window in Massachusetts many years ago. He wondered if he would ever get to see
his childhood home again, and, if he did, would the world of his youth still exist
even there? Like the final beams of sunlight of the day, his hope was growing faint

She rarely chose to speak to anyone, but this time she approached the Leonard and the

Some day, we ll make those Nazi bastards pay for every inch of land they have
taken. She didn t seem to be talking to Leonard as much as to herself; a brief
vocalization of a burning obsession. Without even acknowledging the presence of
any other human being in the room, she walked out toward the kitchen, probably
either to get a drink of water, or to find Eric, the group leader. Leonard had always
wondered why it was that she was so consumed by hatred for the Germans.
Admittedly, few people in the world had any real reason to love the Nazis,
especially with them burning their way across half of New England and in control
of or allied with most of rest of the world. Still, Christina s hatred seemed much more
personal than pure patriotism; even those in the group who had lost family in the
invasion didn t show the level of unbridled hate she did.
The only clue she had ever given as to the source of her rage was one she never
spoke. On the extremely rare occasions that she was seen without a full sleeved
shirt (an oddity in mid July), Leonard had seen scars, almost like whip marks across
her back. She had never spoken of them, or even acknowledged their existence, but
Leonard had always suspected that perhaps she had been interned

First son and World War I veteran, Robert Fredrick or Fred celebrated the silver
wedding anniversary with his wife Annie May Cowley on March 27, 1943. They
were married at Goldalming Anglican church in England. For the first two years of
the war Fred instructed his compatriots in the use of rifle and bayonets in England,
finally giving it up for action in France. There he was gassed and severely
wounded by a mortar shell, received shrapnel to the side of his head that also blew
out an ear drum. He was sent back to England to convalesce. It is during this
convalescent period that he met Annie May Cowley of Upton on Severn

The Importance Of The Humanities Faire
The Humanities Faire, which varies year to year, is a very valued outread of Jesse
Remington High School. The 2018 Humanities Faire will be Colonial America.
Going into the Faire, it is important to know all of the aspects and have an
overview of what the Faire is going to focus on. Colonial America is often viewed
as just the 13 original English colonies, but often people leave out the fact that there
were already French, Spanish, Dutch, and other groups of people in America. That is
an important factor to America, along with Great Britain and what happened there to
cause people to voyage over to America. Another them that must covered is the
religious groups and strifes between those. To accomplish all of this, strong and
willing leaders are needed.
The way the leaders have been set up in the past two fairs have worked really well.
Having two seniors or a senior with a junior has made each group and the overall
goal succeed. Keeping the senior as a group leader is wise because they have the
most Faire experience and knowledge. Having that second senior or junior is great
help for more guidance and helps make the Faire become more of a success and
supported. The way they should be paired is by looking at the strengths and
weaknesses of each senior/junior and deciding who would work best together to make
the project a great achievement.
In order to be a leader, people should know what it takes to be a leader. This means
they should be the students that have
The Profession Of The Medical Field
I was introduced to the profession when I just started the nursing program. I
researched its history and the way the profession influenced the medical field. When I
started to work in the hospital as an RN I ve met many clinicians, including two
Physician Assistants. They were generous not only with the attention to their patients,
but were willing to answer questions regarding the scope of practice, the training, and
everything associated with the profession. Many nights we were working side by
side solving the mystery of our patients symptoms to prevent possible outcomes.
Unlike some providers these two PAs were always easily accessible and resourceful.
Since I ve learned about PA profession I wanted to become one. I want to play an
active role in my patients care, and be able to diagnose and monitor their status. I
want to prescribe medications and be able to perform many difficult procedures. I
want to become a clinician that have the knowledge and the training, and could be
easily reached by patients, their families and nurses.
When I started my academic career in the US, I ve had few stumbling blocks along
the way. At first, I was not aware of the GPA system and its impact to the future.
Once I decided to go to the nursing school where the prerequisites GPA was the
major influencer I changed my study habits and increased my grades.
In 2012, I had to drop out from school due to my husband s injury and work 3 jobs
to support our family. When I got accepted into the
The Development of the American Constitution Essay
The Articles of Confederation were approved by all the early American states in
1781, but by 1787, it was apparent that the Articles were insufficient for the young
nation to operate on. A convention was formed with the priority job being to revise
the Articles of Confederation; however, they only concluded that an entire new
structure was needed to fulfill the demands of the growing country. The Constitution
was then born. The Constitution provided the structure of government and power that
was needed to achieve a strong union. This structure saved the American republic
from collapse while under the Articles of Confederation.
George Washington himself called the end of the Articles a happy termination

The government must be able to prevent a tyranny of the majority, prevent a tyranny
of the minority, have sufficient powers to create conditions for both short and long
term economic development, and formulate and conduct a more effective foreign
policy. It was not long, however, before core conflicts emerged between different
interest groups. Bankers and debtors disagreed; there was economic competition
between states, along with conflicts over western land ownership. Despite the
enormous gap between advocates of the differing approaches, a number of important
compromises were worked out. For instance, the Commerce Compromise which
regulated trade between states and the Great Compromise which dealt with
representation for the states in Congress.
The delegates also divided power within national government. They created three
branches: the legislative, the executive, and the judicial. During this process, there
was considerable disagreement about the powers of the executive, or presidential,
branch. This branch of the government was given a great deal of power, and the
Articles of Confederation had had no executive branch. However, much less attention
was given to the judiciary. There was no mention of judicial review at this time.
While the changes made the government at this time were more than sufficient, they
were still not perfect. But what is a perfect government? Does it even exist in our
India Caste System
) Attitude to hierarchy A)The India s caste system
India has a hierarchical caste system in the society. Within Indian culture, Hindu or
Muslim, urban or village, virtually all things, people, and groups of people are
ranked according to various essential qualities. The social Hierarchy is present
everywhere in India. Although India is a political democracy, in daily life there is a
little adherence to notions of equality.
Castes systems in India and caste like groups, classified in five groups with which
almost all Indians are associated, are ranked. Everyone knows the relative rankings
of each locally represented caste, and people s behavior toward one another is
constantly shaped by this knowledge.

India s leaders are thinking at the solutions they should adopt to respond to lower
caste leaders most desire: a law or a mandate for caste quotas in private companies.
B) Economic consequences
The Indian private sector has vehemently rejected the system of quotas. The
corporate sector has argued that caste based hiring will reduce efficiency and
competitiveness. For some actors of this sector, caste criteria don t work in the today
s knowledge economy. Some have even claimed that caste based reservations will not
be acceptable to Western multinationals who will take their business to other
countries.
To explain this threat, big company like Microsoft which is present in some country
where talent is in abundance, can be seduce by China or Eastern Europe because
actions like affirmative action which reduce country competitiveness or attractiveness
are feared.
Experts warn that the new quotas could exacerbate a major constraint on India s
economic expansion. One of these reasons, a lack of well trained talent suitable for a
multinational work environment.
C) Affirmative action in education, training...
The issue of college admissions quotas is particularly significant in India because
such a large proportion of India s population is so young: More than 600 million
people in a nation of 1.1 billion are 25 or younger.
To reduce discrimination, Schools like Indian Institutes of Technology and the Indian
Institutes of Management have already 22.5 percent quota
Ironic Hero In David Lynch s Twin Peaks
Since the emergence of David Lynch s Twin Peaks franchise, the notion of self
conscious narrative first popularized by postmodernist writers like Gaddis, Gass,
Pynchon and DeLillo has enjoyed the privilege of being a fully formed filmic
object for viewer review. Its logic is that of the quixotic hero and its desired Other,
whether it be a lost love, unfaithful wife or husband, moribund career, or the
realization that oneself has lost all significant connection to the world, that the
ironic hero is ironic because his or her role in the world has become otiose; the
point in this self conscious aesthetic is that the plot signifies an element in the story
long enough for the protagonist s gaze to create both linguistic and visual alienation.
Repeat a word enough times and it becomes unfamiliar, Other: jamais vu. The lover
of cinema feels her gaze returned, as if filmis conscious of the viewer s entry into its

Here s a character that launched his entire career as a writer on a rather adorably
antiquated notion of volition and ego. Indeed, if his name is adjusted for ontology,
Ansel s pathos begins to intimate a medieval comedy, with an atonement Saint
Anselm himself might be satisfied by. But so here s a modern day diminution of
Ansel//m, spouting a half baked self help philosophy of radical freedom which
mistakes the will to happiness for that of justice, as if he actually believes anyone
can simply choose to be in happy control of one s socio economic context in toto,
who is himself without money, friends, family, or even the willpower to dodge a

What Is The Role Of Emotions In The Buying Decision
Process
6. What is the role of emotions in the Buying Decision Process. What are the other
major influences on consumer behavior? Describe them. Ch. 6, Session #3 Handout
There are 3 types of factors influencing on consumer behavior: cultural factors, social
factors, and personal factors.
1)Cultural factors consists a consumer s culture, subculture and social class. These
factors are usually innate in our values and decision activities. Sub cultures are a
society is included of several cultures which people can point out. Sub cultures are
classes of people who are the same values depend on a common lifestyle or
experience in general. Sub cultures are the nationalities, religions, ethnic groups, age

The influence level might differ depending on independents and membership of
groups. But it is normally noticed common consumption trends amid the members
of a same group. The family is the best of influencing factor for an independent. It
structures an environment of socialization in which an independent will develop,
shape his character, and obtain values. But also grow attitudes and opinions on
different subjects such as politics, society, and social relations. The position of an
individual within his family, his work, his country club, his group of friends, and so
on. All this can be defined in terms of role and social status. A social role is a group
of attitudes and hobbies that an independent is should have and do assume to his
profession and his situation at work, his situation in the family, his gender, and so on.
And expectations of the people around him.
3)A personal factor is a characteristic of a person such as age, sex, sociocultural
identity, organic systems, capabilities, etc. Psychological factors amid the factors
influencing consumer behavior, psychological factors can be divided into 4 types:
motivation, perception, learning as well as beliefs and attitudes.
Buyer decision processes are the decision making processes manage by buyers in
regard to a possible market business deal before, during, and after the purchase of a

History of Economic Thought
History of economic thought
Theorists who have shaped the development of economy and economic thought
through the centuries have invariably been affected by their countries and situations.
That this is so can be traced by eh thoughts of some of the most prominent economic
theoreticians that include Smith, Ricardo, Malthus, Marx, and Keynes. Each of these
in turn has produced their own ideas about reproduction of labor force in classical
political economy. Labor has traditionally been related to growth outcome of product
and trade, rise (and as some see it negative influence or increasing rationalization) of
capitalism, and complexity of industrialization. Adam Smith is widely considered the
founder of economics and the father of capitalism. What is less well known is the
fact that he was influenced by French philosophers and writers who shared his dislike
of mercantilism. Influenced by these writers, Smith developed the theory of an
invisible hand that became the bedrock of Western Capitalism. Often misquoted,
Smith is both praised and discredited as the father of one of the most influential
movements in history. Smith was the first oen who was prescriptive rather than
descriptive and hence the popularity of his system.
According to Smith, in his Wealth of Nations, competition is the foundational source
of national wealth and governments should refrain and abstain from interfering in
free trade. On the contrary, tariffs, taxes, and other regulations should serve purely

young people join street gangs is because of neighborhood disadvantages. A theory
that can contribute to why young people might join street gangs is Social
Disorganization Theory. Social Disorganization theory assumes that delinquency
emerges in neighborhoods where neighborhood relation and social institutions have
broken down and can no longer maintain effective social controls (Bell, 2007). Social

By joining a gang young people are able to obtain a sense of belonging, feel
important, and seek family support. Another reasons that contribute to young
people joining street gangs are because they are unable to achieve the socially
prescribed goal of becoming successful and wealthy. Young people who are deviant
and join street gangs more often than not tend to be from lower class families.
Anomie theory of deviance explains, Deviance is an adaption of socially
prescribed goals or of the norms governing their attainment, or both (Shaefer and
Haaland, 2011, p. 154). Young people who are lower class usually do not get the
same opportunities as upper class people to achieve the socially prescribed goal of
becoming successful and wealthy. Such as having the opportunity of receiving a
high quality education and training for skilled work (Shaefer and Haaland 2011, p.
154). So young people become innovators and achieve goals by joining street
gangs. Street gangs can be seen as innovation because they use criminal activity to
become successful. Street gangs provide an easy outlet to become wealthy in a
short amount of time, by taking part in various criminal activates, which can range
from drug dealing all the to murder. Being labeled as deviant is also a reason that
contributes to young people joining street gangs. Young people can be labeled as
criminals based on a variety of reasons such as how

The Beauty Of Pale Skin In Ancient Greece
In Ancient Greece, pale skin was a sign of prestige and beauty. It meant women
didn t have to work for long periods of time in the fields to support themselves.
They were wealthy enough, and their skin was their proof.Because not everyone
was born with light skin, to lighten it, women painted their faces with white lead,
that was toxic. If lead wasn t available, they d turn to chalk, but only as a last resort,
as the chalk would wear off very quickly and easily. This paint needed a smooth
foundation, so women slathered creams made with honey all over their faces to keep
it moisturized. Lips and cheeks were gently highlighted with red coloured pastes.
Lipstickwas made with red iron oxide and ochre clays, or olive oil with beeswax.

How Did Isaac Asimov Sabotages His Own Safeguards
Isaac Asimov was an author best known for his popular science fiction novels and
short stories. Isaac Asimov s short stories and novels were particularly focused on
hard fiction. This means that his science fiction stories were categorised as realistic
and give credibility to the current science. In process of writing these stories he
devised The Three Laws of Robotics . The three laws are stated as follows: a robot
may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to
harm; a robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such
orders would conflict with the First law and; a robot must protect its own existence
as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second law.
In his short stories from The Complete Robot, Asimov intentionally reveals
loopholes, ambiguities and inadequacies within the three laws of robotics. In this
essay I will analyse how Liar! Satisfaction guaranteed and Sally reveal weaknesses

Rock And Roll s Influence On American Culture
Almost all aspects of American culture were changing and music was at the heart
of it all. Ranging from the folk movement led by Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs and Dave
Van Ronk to the release of Revolution 1 on the Beatles White Album. Music gave
the generation of the social change new inspiration and an outlet to express their
dissatisfaction with the established morals of society. Rock n roll became popular,
lyrics were becoming more sexual, and everyone wanted a piece of the rebellion.
Artists like Bob Dylanand Elvis were a huge influence on the music scene of the 60s
and bands such as The Beatle, The Rolling Stones, and The Doors were out to change
the world. The Rolling Stones were not afraid to express their sexual desires through
their music.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This caused a big controversy due to the explicit sexual nature. Jagger embodied
sexuality in their performances. The title of the song is a sexual innuendo that
suggests the desire of tryin to make some girl. The radio was telling him useless
information to fire his imagination and the T.V. was telling him about how white
my shirts can be , but Jagger is frustrated because he can t get no satisfaction . The
next month, Bob Dylan s Like a Rolling Stone shot to No. 2, fired by poetic
language that spoke of the freedom, and the fear, of leaving every societal
convention behind. By December, The Who released My Generation, a stuttering,
slamming anthem that drew a violent line between young and old. In addition to
the songs and bands that talked about protest in one way or another, there were
also those that talked about social and sexual freedom. For example, The Velvet
Undergrounds. The lyrics include references to transgender, homosexuality and
drugs in a way that had never been seen before, while bands like the Beach Boys
are cited as big proponents of peace, love and understanding. One of the biggest
develops in music of the 60s and early 70s are music festivals. Folk festivals were
already established in the early sixties. Bob Dylan s electric guitar at the 1965
Newport Fold Festival has become legendary, but it wasn t until the Monterey Pop
Festival, which launched Jimi Hendrix to the big stage, the Isle of White Festivals
and Woodstock that the idea really took

Character Foils In Vaclav And Lena
In the novel Vaclav and Lena, Haley Tanner employs the use of many character
foils. Characters are placed into similar roles and the behavior of one character
accentuates the traits of another, more major character. This is particularly
prominent among the women who act as Lena s guardians. Two of the most
important women in Lena s life are Radoslava and Rasia. Radoslava Dvorakovskaya
is an elderly womanwho Lena lives with when she is very young. Radoslava passes
away and Lena moves in with her aunt. In her new neighborhood, she meets a boy
named Vaclav and his mother, Rasia, who quickly becomes a guardian of Lena as
well. Radoslava is a foil for Rasia because while both serve as maternal figures for
Lena, Radoslava s failures as a caring guardian highlight Rasia s devotion and
kindness.
Radoslava s self centeredness calls attention to Rasia s attentiveness. Radoslava s
actions make it clear that she considers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Radoslava is quick to yell at Lena, saying, Yelena! I am old and I am dying, and
you have ruined my last years of peace (169). Radoslava blames Lena for
everything and considers her to be a stain on her life. Radoslava does not fulfill
her role as a kind maternal figure in this case as she makes it very clear that she
does not want to be in this situation. On the other hand, Rasia and her son Vaclav
enjoys helping Lena and consider it a blessing rather than a burden. They are more
than willing to meet Lena and become acquainted with her, both of them knowing
that they were doing something nice (68). Rasia and Vaclav find pleasure in
knowing that they are doing a good deed. Unlike Radoslava, Rasia is
unconditionally caring. Radoslava only does things for her own good and the
moment things get difficult she immediately pushes the responsibility onto Lena.
The way Radoslava treats Lena serves as a harsh contrast to the way that Rasia
willingly takes on the burden of acting like a mother for
Women s Suffrage Movement Of America
Over the decades there has been an allure to the Western, no matter what form it is
enjoyed. A good story about the misunderstood hero winning the day and riding off
into the sunset never seems to stop bringing in the audiences. What really was the
attraction of the Western in its heyday? From the early nineteenth century into the
the 1950s, the Western attracted many readers and viewers to its genre. Sure there
was gunfights, cowboys and Indians fighting over what each wanted from this
harsh landscape that was the west. People were entranced by the mystery of the
land that wanted to be tamed, or not. In all this mixture of heroes saving the town
among wagon trains rolling over the plains, there was something else brewing in
American minds. There were changes going on in America during the rise of the
Western. Industrialization and social changes such as the women s suffrage
movement had citizens looking for a new frontier to get answers from. The west
offered the change in scenery, and an untouched society, and the freedom to
reinvent oneself. Americans were seeing in the Western a way back to simpler
times or a vision of breaking away from society and back to nature. In times of
upheaval and change, people try to find a way to make sense of life changing. They
also look towards visions of something that is akin to the good ole days . The
Western landscape with its unfettered expanse can offer the feeling of going back to a
better time and beginning anew. John

If the vehicle is supplied with the driver, the hire company is the employer of the

the vehicle, with regards maintenance and safe road going condition.
c) Leasing.
Leasing refers to a vehicle procured for a fixed length of time. The operator never
owns the vehicle outright, but has full use of the vehicle, as if he was the owner. The
vehicle is purchase by a finance house to the requirement of the operator. They may
have no involvement in the transport industry, so don t need to have an O licenses to
operate the vehicles that are purchased. A mutually agreed contract is written up with
the terms and conditions of the leasing.
There are different types of finance arrangements used for the leasing of fleet vehicles.
Full Amortization leasing.
These run for a fixed period, primarily agreed. When this time is finished a secondary
period can be agreed apon, if the operator still is in need of the vehicles.
Balloon deal leasing.
This is the most common leasing arrangement, they give the operator the option to
pay a large payment at the end of the agreement to settle the outstanding balance
where the operator then is the owner of the vehicles, or a large payment maybe made
at the beginning to start the lease agreement.
Gender Discrimination Is An International Problem
According to Kristoff Wudunn (2009), women aged fifteen through forty four are
more likely to be maimed or die from male violence than from cancer, malaria,
traffic accidents, and war combined (pg. 61). Although people assume that acts of
violence caused by men toward women are a sign of hatred, I disagree. I disagree
because in many societies women commit crimes against other women. In Nicholas
Kristoff book, Half the Sky he connotes that many acts of violenceare not caused by
hatred, but the perception that women are second class citizens in their communities
and cultures. Due to the influence of communities and cultures, acts of violence
escalate due to genderdiscrimination. Gender Discrimination is an international
problem that affects many women worldwide but is particularly a problem in
India. In India, women and young girls are not given the opportunity to thrive in a
male dominated society. Women are slaughtered as part of an honor killing to
protect men in their society and are discriminated prior birth when girls are aborted
in preference of a male heir. Women are shunned for not fitting into societal norms
and for their sexuality and are constantly forced down because they are not seen as
equal. Gender discrimination has become the norm in their society. Women are
perceived as second class residents centered on their gender and are deemed inferior
in both their professional and private lives. Gender discrimination has become an

In modern theory, an organization is defined as a designed and structured process in
which individuals interact for objectives (Hicks Gullet, 1997) Modern Theory has
three different Approaches: 1. The systems approach: it views the inter connectedness
between several components such as, individual, environment, communication,
balancing and decision analyzing as the goal of organization as well. 2. Socio
technical approach: it is based on technical system and environment of organization.
An organization uses tools and techniques on producing their products to make the

Why Affiliate Billing Report Is Required Essay
Why Affiliate Billing Report Is Required In Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is one of the most popular forms of marketing. It is a form of
online marketing that considerably diminishes costs for advertising. Affiliates place
unique referral links on their site to motivate traffic and impressions, clicks,
conversions are tracked through that referral links. Once traffic starts picking up, ad
network needs a billing report to keep an eye on the performance of the each
campaign. In this circumstance, billing report is a very powerful tool that lets
quickly view the data that ad network wants to see, from the dashboard instantly by
selecting the desired fields. If affiliate tracking application does not provide proper
billing reporting system then affiliate marketing is getting affected quite severely.
Because whatever transactions have been made, if these are not coming through
billing report then miscommunication happens massively. How much an affiliate
earned through advertising or how much cash inflows and outflows happens to the ad
networks, if these are not running through billing report substantially then business
faces difficulties. As a consequence Ad networks are getting confused, they don t
understand which affiliate s payment is due or which affiliate s payment is done. So
affiliate s payment can be getting delayed. In this scenario traffic is getting exhausted.
But a high quality performance marketing application provides a robust billing
reporting
Comparing Women In Real Life And Fairy Tales
Comparing The Roles of Women In Real Life and Fairy Tales
How different are the roles of women in real life and in fairy tales? Women have
very different roles in fairy tales than they do in real life. In fairy tales, women can

the choice to own land and marry who they choose. In some of the fairy tales the role
of the women would clean the house and make meals.
In the fairy tale Cinderella, there are two different personalities of women. One is

How Madagascar s Major Environmental Problems

A geographer explores how Madagascar s major environmental problems impact the
wildlife development in Madagascar
Abstract
This essay discusses how five different environmental problems that occur in
Madagascar disturb the plants and animals living in the country. Environmental
problems include deforestation, agricultural fires, erosion, overexploitation of living
resources, and invasions of alien species. Unfortunately, as result of the
environmental problems, native species are losing their homes and are struggling to
survive. Fortunately, there are organizations where conservationists are working hard
to help save the animals from extinction.
When people think about Madagascar, images of beautiful, lush green rainforest,
warm, sandy beaches along crystal clear water and exotic animals come to mind.
Madagascar is a large island that is located in the Indian Ocean, just off the
southeastern coast of Africa. According to Africa Diversity and Development, the
population in 2009 was nineteen point five million people, many of which living on
less than two dollars a day (Binns, 2011). This landmass is home to an extraordinary
variety of animals including Flat Tailed Geckos, Comet Moths, Panther Chameleons
and Tomato Frogs. Many of the animals found in Madagascar cannot be found
anywhere else on this planet. Unfortunately, environmental problems are negatively
impacting the wildlife. Conservationist are forced to work extra hard to help stop the

Was The Tang Dynasty A Success
The Tang dynasty was a success. The Tang dynasty was a success for many reasons.
It had a great culture, many advancements, and it developed its religion. First, the
Tang dynasty had a great culture. The most important part of the Tang dynasty s
culture would be it s arts and literature. They had many influential poets and poetry
(which you had to master to be in the government), they had a lot of beautiful
artwork, and they had opera. This to me sounds like a success because they had a
very good culture. Second, they had many new inventions. They had things like
gunpowder, woodblock printing, porcelain advancements, and tea. These were very
useful because gunpowder opened the doorway to new technology like guns,
explosives, and even fire works.

Characterization of Antigone in Sophocles Antigone
Sophocles tragic drama, Antigone, presents to the reader a full range of characters:
static and dynamic, flat and round; they are portrayed mostly through the showing
technique.
In Sophocles Praise of Man and the Conflicts of the Antigone, Charles Paul Segal
takes the stand that there are two protagonists in the drama (which conflicts with this
reader s interpretation):
This is not to say that there are not conceptual issues involved in the characters of
Creon and Antigone. But the issues are too complex to be satisfactorily reduced to a
single antithetical formulation. We must avoid seeing the protagonists as one

And when, after a long while, this storm had passed, the maid was seen; and she

Musical Theatre, By L Incoronazione Di Poppea
In any musical drama, be it opera, oratorio, or even musical theatre, it is possible for a
composer to convey the personality of their characters through compositional and
musical techniques. Doing so heightens the audience s understanding of the
characters, their motivations, and the relationships between them. Monteverdi, as a
pioneer of opera, was one of the first to capitalize on this opportunity to heighten the
audience s understanding of the characters. This is highly apparent in his last opera,
L Incoronazione di Poppea. The musicfor two of the characters, Poppea and Nerone,
is especially well composed to demonstrate personality, and this is no more apparent
than in the dialogue which introduces the audience to them, Signor, deh... Show more

This allowed the men to disavow responsibility for their erotic adventure. In other
words, it was customary for men who engaged with courtesans to behave as though
they were submitting to the inevitable, and for courtesans to be the dominant ones in
the relationship. Poppea, the courtesan, must behave, according to social norms, as
though she is dominant to Nerone. Now that the socio historical context of this
unusual power hierarchy has been explored, it is possible to explore, in an informed
manner, the musicals means by which it is expressed.
Monteverdi used harmonic language to portray the distinct personalities of Poppea
and Nerone and the power hierarchies between them. Major minor tonality was still
being developed at this time and wasn t recognized formally yet. However,
according to Geoffrey Chew, most of Monteverdi s works can be analysed in terms
of major minor tonality. In this essay, harmonies will be analyzed using this
framework. Poppea s passages are accompanied by highly chromatic harmonies.
They are free to follow the dramatic intentions of the composer without the
restrictions of any diatonic scale. Take for example the passage from M34 37: it
starts on an E major triad, moves to Bb6 major, and settles on C minor before
coming to a cadence in D major. Even to 21st century ears, these harmonies are
unexpected and chromatic. This chromaticism reflects her
Ancient Nose Religion
Asses the relevance of Loki within the Ancient Norse Pantheon.
No individual is more influential in the Ancient Norse religion than Loki.
Considered an outsider to the Г†sir he was instrumental in both the rise of the gods
and their defeat. He is the most mysterious character in the religion and little is
known of his origin, he was rarely prayed to yet is an extremely prevalent persona in
records of the religious beliefs of the people.
To properly evaluate the relevance of Loki within Ancient Nose religion is important
to understand his origins. Within the tales of the Norse gods little is mentioned

The second half of the tales of the Ancient Norse gods represent Loki in a negative
light by showing his change into an enemy of the gods. There is much debate
surrounding this change and when it occurred. Some state it was his natural path
due to his giant heritage, as his parents were considered enemies to the gods he
would also naturally become an enemy to the gods. Others consider the change to
occur after Loki loses a bet with the dwarfs and as payment has his lips sewn shut
while the gods look on and laugh. This is considered by some to be the moment
Loki begins to hate the gods as they did not offer to help him and instead mocked
him. However Loki s role in the death of Balder is universally considered to mark
the end of the gods. Balder was the most love of all the gods and in an attempt to
protect him forever his mother Frigg asked all things on all the worlds to swear
never to harm Balder. Loki on hearing of this discovered the one thing that had not
sworn an oath to not harm Balder and tricked Baldre s brother Hod into killing
Balder. Thus the Asgardians lose there most beloved family member and Loki loses
his place within the Asgardian court. Hence we see Loki s role in the religion turn
from ally into the enemy who will eventually bring about the downfall of the gods.
After Loki kills Balder he then insults

Stereotypes Of Dracula In Bram Stoker s Dracula
Bleh Bleh Bleh What does the notorious bloodsucking Dracula have in common
with the attractive vampires that are shown in the movie Twilight? A lot actually,
not only do they share the same name of Vampire or Undead , they also share the
same powers and needs. The vampire genre has gone a long way, specifically with
books like Bram Stoker s Dracula. It first started out as folklore and then it turned
into a popular topic of writing in early European culture. Bram Stoker then combined
what he could into one classic vampirethat is widely known today. Even in today s
modern generation, Bram Stoker s widely known character Dracula continues to be

Clarson makes a point of talking about the fangs being sharp, proving that it is a
way to identify a vampire such as the Count. This continues to persist throughout
the genre, a vampire has the need for blood so it turns to a victim and takes
advantage of them, while also turning the victim into a vampire as well. This
shows that Bram Stoker has successfully created a stereotype of fangs that are used
to feed off the blood of victims that continues through this genre. There is
something about burning red eyes of a blood hungry undead that just manages to
stick with the whole vampire stereotypes. Despite not knowing that it was dracula,
Jonathan Harker had met up with Dracula and had taken a lot of acknowledgement
to the dark fire like eyes of the Count. Jonathan describes the scene of him meeting
the count for the first time, I could only see the gleam of a pair of very bright eyes,
which seemed red in the lamplight, as he turned to us (Stoker 10). This proves that
the eyes are a first expression that comes to Harkers mind when he first sees the
Count. The stereotype of vampires having red eyes is probably one of the most
known stereotypes when it comes to the undead and the vampire genre. The burning
red eyes show a sense of character in the vampires, giving them an evil quality that
strikes fear into those who look into them. Another
Character Analysis Of Raymond Carver s Cathedral
Character Analysis in Raymond Carver s Cathedral : The Narrator Literature has the
potential to act as a mirror by presenting people s lived experiences, expectations, and
perceptions through characters. Such is what can be deciphered through the analysis
of different characters in Raymond Carver s story Cathedral. This paper focuses on
the narrator of the story portrayed by the author as blind, which is used
metaphorically not to imply physical blindness, but the inability to have reasoned
judgment others referred to as lack of emotional intelligence. The presentation of the
narrator, as a fallible individual, contributes to the development of the theme and plot
of the story because, through them, the reader can learn about other... Show more

I don t have any blind friends, I said.
You don t have any friends, she said. (Carver 3)
The conversation portrays that the narrator lives a secluded and solitary life, and has
resorted to seeking to conform through drinking a lot of scotch and smoking
marijuana.
This point of view is corroborated in Kirk Nesset s article called Insularity and Self
Enlargement in Raymond Carver s Cathedral, who observes that Raymond Carver s
fiction is characterized by characters that tend toward insularity and isolation. (16)
The narrator s solitary life can be attributed to their behavior of profiling and
stereotype other people. For instance, he thinks that Beulah, the blind man s late wife,
was a woman of color by her name
I didn t answer. She d told me a little about the blind man s wife. Her name was
Beulah. Beulah! That s a name for a colored woman.
Was his wife a Negro? I asked.
Are you crazy? my wife said. Have you just flipped or something? She picked up a
potato. I saw it hit the floor, then roll under the stove. What s wrong with you? she
said. Are you
Alice In Wonderland Loss Of Identity
When one s identity is lost, the happiest place is one of which is the most familiar
to us. In Lewis Carroll s Alice in Wonderland, Alice is having a history lesson
before she decides to follow a rabbit down a rabbit hole. Inside the rabbit hole,
Alice is unable to sustain a sense of herself (insecurity) which contributes to the
reader seeing her lost of object of desire (objet petit a) in the form of images
standing in for the womb (female imagery). As a result, Alice goes through
regression, which is a return to previous psychological state. Carroll uses the rabbit
hole scene to show Alice regressing as she searches for her identity within society,
ultimately suggesting, one desires to escape rather than face their unstable sense of
self.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alice falls down the rabbit hole when [s]he trie[s] to look down and make out what
she [is] coming to, but it [is] too dark to see anything (8). The nothingness Alice
sees while falling suggests a feeling of emptiness and disconnection. Then before
her appears maps [,] pictures... and a jar labeled ORANGE MARMALADE,
which represents society (8). The maps and pictures reference the historical aspect
of society in a geographic sense to show parts that make up a bigger area, but also
implies a search; therefore, suggesting Alice s loss as a part of society. The orange
marmalade references culture and peering into the jar is Alice searching for an
aspect of herself as a part of the culture and society. However, the jar is
disappointedly empty (8), thus demonstrating Alice s empty sense of self that she is
searching to fill and sustain a sense of identity. In addition to the maps, pictures, and
the jar, there are doors promoting Alice s search for her
A Very Brief Look at the Crusades
On the 27th of November in the year 1095, Pope Urban II issued a decree to a
council of the Church at Clermont in the French Auvergne saying Whoever for
devotion alone, not to gain honour or money, goes to jerusalem to liberate the
Church of God can substitute the journey for all penance (Tyerman 27). As the Pope
declared a first crusadeagainst the Muslims, he used forgiveness from sins as a
false incentive to get knights to join in his fight. In his letter of instruction, Urban
says that a barbaric fury has deplorably afflicted an laid waste the churches of God
in the regions of the Orient, referring to the turkish muslims that had destroyed
many of the churches in asian minor (Krey 42 43). The Turks would invade the
churches and desecrate and overthrow the alters, (Munro 5 8). The Seljuk Turks
invaded the lands of the christians, torturing and killing the Christians in ways that
were despicable. For example, they would cut the abdomen and tie the entrails to a
stake, then make them walk until all organs were out of the body (Munro 5 8).
These Muslims took a tract of land from the Greek Empire that would have taken
two months to walk across (Munro 5 8). Pope Urban II questioned everyone, asking
Whose duty is to avenge this and recover that land, if not yours? in his speech at
Clermont, declaring a jihad, or holy war against the Muslim Turks (Munro 5 8). As
Urban finished his speech to the Council at Clermont, all who were in attendance
shouted Deus lo volt!

Difference Between Pinned And Welded Brake
Removing pinned and welded muzzle devices with basic tools is not a difficult
process as long as you take the time to do it right. One of the first steps is to
determine whether the barrel has a pinned and welded muzzle brake. With the laws
set if you have a barrel shorter than sixteen inches then the muzzle break must be
pinned/welded on if you are planning on reaching the total desire sixteen inches.
Example if your barrel is fourteen and a half inches and you want to attach an inch
and a half muzzle brake then it needs to be welded and pinned on to reach a total
sixteen inches. If you have an end mill at home this job is straightforward but when
heavy equipment is not available, basic hand tools, a high speed rotary cutter and

Cardiovascular System Vs Respiratory System Essay
The human body is not simply just an organism, or just body. The body is comprised
of many different systems. Although these systems all work together with one
common goal, to maintain homeostasis, perhaps there are not two systems that work
more closely together than the respiratory system and the cardiovascular system.
Although the entirety of each body system has a generalized common goal, these two
systems share a relationship. The both focus on providing oxygen to the blood, and
then ensuring that this richly oxygenated blood is circulated throughout the body.
The whole human organism would fail if it lacked just one of these systems, and the
individual systems would fail without each other. To fully understand how the two
work together, one must fully realize the functions of each system apart. The
respiratory is not one of the biggest systems of the body, but it is one of the most
commonly known. However, this system is not simply for breathing or the lung
system . In fact, these notions only... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two most significant to the coexistence of both systems being the pulmonary
artery and pulmonary vein. The pulmonary artery carries the blood lacking in
oxygen into the lungs (Bailey). From there, the oxygen from the air sacs goes into
the blood vessel, while the carbon dioxide comes out (How Does Oxygen Get Into the
Bloodstream) . Upon this moment, the organism exhales releasing the carbon
dioxide. Meanwhile, the now oxygenated blood travels throughout the body, which
especially important for the muscles. Oxygen is required for the muscles to preform
any sort of strenuous activity. Faster paced breathing and an elevated heart rate aren t
random symptoms of a good work out. The blood must quickly transfer oxygen to the
muscles. This is so that the muscles have the ability to create adenosine tri phosphate
(ATP) which carries

When we consider job occupations, several things come promptly to mind. We think about job description and duties, the training and education required, job outlook, and annual salaries. These are just a few of the factors I considered when searching for a profession. Since I was a child, I always knew that I wanted to be in the medical field. I wanted a profession in which I would be afforded the opportunity to make a difference in someone else s life. So I started to examine my interests and skills, how long I wanted to be in school, the type of salary I wanted to make and the potential for job growth in the industry. After investigating potential careers, I figured out exactly what I wanted to be: a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. I chose a career in Diagnostic Medical Sonography because the job outlook is bright, the pay is exceptional, I have most of the essential skills, and I can see myself performing this job for years to come. When it came to choosing a career, I wanted a profession where the pay is decent and there are plentiful jobs in the workforce. Health careers are some of the fastest growing jobs in the U.S. and Diagnostic Medical Sonography is no exception. Due to innovations in technology and the increased dependence on diagnostic imaging for medical diagnosis, employment is projected to grow much faster as more individuals are needed to fill
  • 3. Behind the Zoo What makes an object worth collecting? Curiosity is an important aspect of collecting. With the spread of colonies, there was an affinity to discover the unknown, or rather, the different. The nineteenth century paved the way for many sponsored expedition, looking for curios. Found object; vases, pots and pans, tools of everyday use, gained an importance, as curios. Nature has captivated the human cognizance since man first acquired tools, it would only be natural for the curiosity to extend to the subject of new flora and fauna. By means of collecting it is possible to establish a personal identity or characterize the other and often identifying this other as a conquest. This idea of conquest can be analyzed in the manner in which collection is presented, making presenting as important an aspect as the collection itself. The oldest zoological collection was a transportable one which contained every known species, however only two of each animal, one male and one female, collected by Noah as recounted in Genesis. Not does Noah get credit for conceptualizing the zoo, but as highlighted by John Elsner and Roger Cardinal s introduction in The Cultures of Collecting, he was also the first collector. Granted it was under the request of a higher power, but in some way every collection emphasizes a purpose or some secret desire. While we can choose to believe this to be true or not, the lesson to be taken here is that collections can be thrust on its collector. Two of the

A Report On The Enterprise Leasing Company As previously stated the company expanded to different states and Jack changed the name in 1969 to the Enterprise Leasing Company, in honor of the U.S.S. Enterprise aircraft carrier upon which he served in the Navy (Tucker Salamie, 2005). The energy crises of the 1970s hindered Enterprise Leasing Company s expansion, but accelerated growth occurred in the 1980s, even though Hertz and National entered the hometown market. According to Tucker and Salamie (2005), a key ingredient to Enterprises success was the innovative CustomerGiveaway Accounts, which allowed any Enterprise employee to charge off items up to a certain amount in order to satisfy customers (p. 2) To motivate employees the company instituted an array of bonus plans and... Enterprise continued to focus on delivering top notch customer service, but as the the company progressed, customers rated Enterprise with less than satisfactory scores for service. CEO, Andy Taylor was stunned by the customer data, which indicated the foundation of the family company had a fault and needed immediate attention. Enterprise recognized three factors that drive customer satisfaction are attitude and helpfulness of employees, speed of transaction, and cleanliness of cars (Taylor, 2004, p. 17). As a result, the company began the process of developing a measurement tool for customer service satisfaction known as an Enterprise Service Quality index (ESQi). Originally, the survey was mailed to customers on a quarterly basis in each region and the response was good, but the results did not divulge any new information to Enterprise. Therefore, Enterprise adjusted the scope of the survey, gathering data from individual branches, and instituted a customer phone survey, which allowed the company to provide prompt feedback to each branch. In addition, Enterprise ranks each branch and publishes the ESQi score from highest to lowest performers using the data as an employee compensation strategy to determine promotion within the company. Furthermore, ESQi has helped create the Enterprise way a management framework known as the
  • 5. The Pros And Cons Of Minority Voting Historically in America, voting has been a relatively discriminatory practice. It has limited and deprived many individuals of many diverse races, ethnicities, and walks of life from casting their votes to select the individual who they feel is most educated, and skilled to represent their interests. Not only has this been proven to be wrong by discriminating minoritygroups in voting, it also has proved to be a process, which minimizes the largest growing demographics in the country. Furthermore, with millennials growing to become more politically active, minority groups are becoming more politically involved than ever. Taking this into account an important question that is raised by the author William Eskridge in his book Legislation and Statutory Interpretation is Would minoritiesbe better off with more representatives who had to pay attention to their interests because they are a powerful and organized constituency, rather than with a few representatives of minority districts who specialize in protecting only their interests? (Eskridge,Frickley, Garrett, 2006, pp.55). The answer to this question is yes. Minorities would be better off with more representatives who had to pay attention to their interests, because they are a powerful constituency. Currently there are three historical methods to dilute minority voting strengths. These are pointed out best in the short film by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) political scientist Laughlin McDonald. Here Mr.

While it can be harmful, and even dangerous, when you understand how to use it and what it should be used for it can greatly enhance your life. One of the many ways social media is beneficial is that it can help students who have just graduated from college find a job. There are hundreds of networking sites out there that a student can use to get there resume in front of the right people, and even doing something as simple as creating a blog about your job search and skill set can mean the difference between getting hired a month after graduation and a year after graduation. Sites like LinkedIn, Jobster, and Simplyhired are designed to help people find jobs in all fields. LinkedIn in particular, allows you to upload a resume, write a personal statement, add a profile picture, and connect with potential employers, friends who are pursuing a similar career, and family members who already have a job in the field you are looking in. Students can create a profile on LinkedIn before they graduate, and include information about internships they completed while in College, volunteer work they may have done, athletic involvement, leadership roles they held while in school, and a copy of their current transcript. This will enable them to get in front of employers early, and hopefully cause employers to think about their name when it comes time to start hiring. Once students graduate, they can add information about where
  • 7. Critical Analysis Of Metropolis Metropolis, the 1927 sci fi film by Fritz Lang, tackles themes of class, industrialization, technological advancement and biblical prophecy; all while demonstrating its cutting edge prowess in production design and cinematography. Metropolis was created at a time in German film history when the German Expressionismartistic movement was in full swing (Enticknap p.423). The vivid yet papery cityscapes are the film s most overt representations of the German expressionist movement, foregoing realism in order to enable the film to achieve a level of imagination that would have otherwise been unobtainable. Bustling with life, lights and automation, the futuristic world of the upper city is a marvel to behold. In contrast, the depth of the city, inhabited by the workers, feature jagged and distorted buildings that loom over the broken people of the lower class as they disband from their days of backbreaking and menial labor. The workplace of the lower class being an industrial mess of cogs, lights, clocks, valves and pipes. The sky had been overcast for almost the entire day, leading to a brief although torrential downpour in the mid afternoon. The streets of the Bronx outside the third story apartment window that Leonard Jefferson Bennings now looked out were saturated from the July rainstorm and shone with a glimmer he remembered seeing from his bedroom window in Massachusetts many years ago. Without even acknowledging the presence of any other human being in the room, she walked out toward the kitchen, probably either to get a drink of water, or to find Eric, the group leader. Leonard had always wondered why it was that she was so consumed by hatred for the Germans. Admittedly, few people in the world had any real reason to love the Nazis, especially with them burning their way across half of New England and in control of or allied with most of rest of the world. Still, Christina s hatred seemed much more personal than pure patriotism; even those in the group who had lost family in the invasion didn t show the level of unbridled hate she did. The only clue she had ever given as to the source of her rage was one she never spoke. On the extremely rare occasions that she was seen without a full sleeved shirt (an oddity in mid July), Leonard had seen scars, almost like whip marks across her back. She had never spoken of them, or even acknowledged their existence, but Leonard had always suspected that perhaps she had been interned

  • 11. The Importance Of The Humanities Faire The Humanities Faire, which varies year to year, is a very valued outread of Jesse Remington High School. The 2018 Humanities Faire will be Colonial America. Going into the Faire, it is important to know all of the aspects and have an overview of what the Faire is going to focus on. Colonial America is often viewed as just the 13 original English colonies, but often people leave out the fact that there were already French, Spanish, Dutch, and other groups of people in America. That is an important factor to America, along with Great Britain and what happened there to cause people to voyage over to America. Another them that must covered is the religious groups and strifes between those. To accomplish all of this, strong and willing leaders are needed. The way the leaders have been set up in the past two fairs have worked really well. Having two seniors or a senior with a junior has made each group and the overall goal succeed. Keeping the senior as a group leader is wise because they have the most Faire experience and knowledge. Having that second senior or junior is great help for more guidance and helps make the Faire become more of a success and supported. The way they should be paired is by looking at the strengths and weaknesses of each senior/junior and deciding who would work best together to make the project a great achievement. In order to be a leader, people should know what it takes to be a leader. This means they should be the students that have

A convention was formed with the priority job being to revise the Articles of Confederation; however, they only concluded that an entire new structure was needed to fulfill the demands of the growing country. The Constitution was then born. The Constitution provided the structure of government and power that was needed to achieve a strong union. It was not long, however, before core conflicts emerged between different interest groups. Bankers and debtors disagreed; there was economic competition between states, along with conflicts over western land ownership. Despite the enormous gap between advocates of the differing approaches, a number of important compromises were worked out. For instance, the Commerce Compromise which regulated trade between states and the Great Compromise which dealt with representation for the states in Congress. The delegates also divided power within national government. They created three branches: the legislative, the executive, and the judicial. During this process, there was considerable disagreement about the powers of the executive, or presidential, branch. This branch of the government was given a great deal of power, and the Articles of Confederation had had no executive branch. However, much less attention was given to the judiciary. There was no mention of judicial review at this time. While the changes made the government at this time were more than sufficient, they were still not perfect. But what is a perfect government? • 18. History of Economic Thought History of economic thought Theorists who have shaped the development of economy and economic thought through the centuries have invariably been affected by their countries and situations. That this is so can be traced by eh thoughts of some of the most prominent economic theoreticians that include Smith, Ricardo, Malthus, Marx, and Keynes. Each of these in turn has produced their own ideas about reproduction of labor force in classical political economy. Labor has traditionally been related to growth outcome of product and trade, rise (and as some see it negative influence or increasing rationalization) of capitalism, and complexity of industrialization. Adam Smith is widely considered the founder of economics and the father of capitalism. What is less well known is the fact that he was influenced by French philosophers and writers who shared his dislike of mercantilism. Influenced by these writers, Smith developed the theory of an invisible hand that became the bedrock of Western Capitalism. Often misquoted, Smith is both praised and discredited as the father of one of the most influential movements in history. Smith was the first oen who was prescriptive rather than descriptive and hence the popularity of his system. According to Smith, in his Wealth of Nations, competition is the foundational source of national wealth and governments should refrain and abstain from interfering in free trade. On the contrary, tariffs, taxes, and other regulations should serve purely

One of the reasons young people join street gangs is because of neighborhood disadvantages. A theory that can contribute to why young people might join street gangs is Social Disorganization Theory. Social Disorganization theory assumes that delinquency emerges in neighborhoods where neighborhood relation and social institutions have broken down and can no longer maintain effective social controls (Bell, 2007). By joining a gang young people are able to obtain a sense of belonging, feel important, and seek family support. Another reasons that contribute to young people joining street gangs are because they are unable to achieve the socially prescribed goal of becoming successful and wealthy. Young people who are deviant and join street gangs more often than not tend to be from lower class families. Anomie theory of deviance explains, Deviance is an adaption of socially prescribed goals or of the norms governing their attainment, or both (Shaefer and Haaland, 2011, p. 154). Young people who are lower class usually do not get the same opportunities as upper class people to achieve the socially prescribed goal of becoming successful and wealthy. So young people become innovators and achieve goals by joining street gangs. Street gangs can be seen as innovation because they use criminal activity to become successful. Street gangs provide an easy outlet to become wealthy in a short amount of time, by taking part in various criminal activates, which can range from drug dealing all the to murder. Being labeled as deviant is also a reason that contributes to young people joining street gangs. Young people can be labeled as criminals based on a variety of reasons such as how

Characters are placed into similar roles and the behavior of one character accentuates the traits of another, more major character. This is particularly prominent among the women who act as Lena s guardians. Two of the most important women in Lena s life are Radoslava and Rasia. Radoslava Dvorakovskaya is an elderly womanwho Lena lives with when she is very young. Radoslava passes away and Lena moves in with her aunt. In her new neighborhood, she meets a boy named Vaclav and his mother, Rasia, who quickly becomes a guardian of Lena as well. Radoslava is a foil for Rasia because while both serve as maternal figures for Lena, Radoslava s failures as a caring guardian highlight Rasia s devotion and kindness. On the other hand, Rasia and her son Vaclav enjoys helping Lena and consider it a blessing rather than a burden. A good story about the misunderstood hero winning the day and riding off into the sunset never seems to stop bringing in the audiences. What really was the attraction of the Western in its heyday? From the early nineteenth century into the the 1950s, the Western attracted many readers and viewers to its genre. Sure there was gunfights, cowboys and Indians fighting over what each wanted from this harsh landscape that was the west. People were entranced by the mystery of the land that wanted to be tamed, or not. In all this mixture of heroes saving the town among wagon trains rolling over the plains, there was something else brewing in American minds. There were changes going on in America during the rise of the Western. Industrialization and social changes such as the women s suffrage movement had citizens looking for a new frontier to get answers from. The west offered the change in scenery, and an untouched society, and the freedom to reinvent oneself. Americans were seeing in the Western a way back to simpler times or a vision of breaking away from society and back to nature. In times of upheaval and change, people try to find a way to make sense of life changing. They also look towards visions of something that is akin to the good ole days . The Western landscape with its unfettered expanse can offer the feeling of going back to a better time and beginning anew. John

Gender Discrimination Is An International Problem According to Kristoff Wudunn (2009), women aged fifteen through forty four are more likely to be maimed or die from male violence than from cancer, malaria, traffic accidents, and war combined (pg. 61). Although people assume that acts of violence caused by men toward women are a sign of hatred, I disagree. I disagree because in many societies women commit crimes against other women. In Nicholas Kristoff book, Half the Sky he connotes that many acts of violenceare not caused by hatred, but the perception that women are second class citizens in their communities and cultures. Due to the influence of communities and cultures, acts of violence escalate due to genderdiscrimination. Gender Discrimination is an international problem that affects many women worldwide but is particularly a problem in India. In India, women and young girls are not given the opportunity to thrive in a male dominated society. Women are slaughtered as part of an honor killing to protect men in their society and are discriminated prior birth when girls are aborted in preference of a male heir. Women are shunned for not fitting into societal norms and for their sexuality and are constantly forced down because they are not seen as equal. Gender discrimination has become the norm in their society. Women are perceived as second class residents centered on their gender and are deemed inferior in both their professional and private lives. Gender discrimination has become an immense

It is a form of online marketing that considerably diminishes costs for advertising. Affiliates place unique referral links on their site to motivate traffic and impressions, clicks, conversions are tracked through that referral links. Once traffic starts picking up, ad network needs a billing report to keep an eye on the performance of the each campaign. In this circumstance, billing report is a very powerful tool that lets quickly view the data that ad network wants to see, from the dashboard instantly by selecting the desired fields. If affiliate tracking application does not provide proper billing reporting system then affiliate marketing is getting affected quite severely. Because whatever transactions have been made, if these are not coming through billing report then miscommunication happens massively. How much an affiliate earned through advertising or how much cash inflows and outflows happens to the ad networks, if these are not running through billing report substantially then business faces difficulties. As a consequence Ad networks are getting confused, they don t understand which affiliate s payment is due or which affiliate s payment is done. So affiliate s payment can be getting delayed. In this scenario traffic is getting exhausted. But a high quality performance marketing application provides a robust billing reporting

A geographer explores how Madagascar s major environmental problems impact the wildlife development in Madagascar Abstract This essay discusses how five different environmental problems that occur in Madagascar disturb the plants and animals living in the country. Environmental problems include deforestation, agricultural fires, erosion, overexploitation of living resources, and invasions of alien species. Unfortunately, as result of the environmental problems, native species are losing their homes and are struggling to survive. Fortunately, there are organizations where conservationists are working hard to help save the animals from extinction. When people think about Madagascar, images of beautiful, lush green rainforest, warm, sandy beaches along crystal clear water and exotic animals come to mind. They had many influential poets and poetry (which you had to master to be in the government), they had a lot of beautiful artwork, and they had opera. These were very useful because gunpowder opened the doorway to new technology like guns, explosives, and even fire works.

Musical Theatre, By L Incoronazione Di Poppea In any musical drama, be it opera, oratorio, or even musical theatre, it is possible for a composer to convey the personality of their characters through compositional and musical techniques. Doing so heightens the audience s understanding of the characters, their motivations, and the relationships between them. Monteverdi, as a pioneer of opera, was one of the first to capitalize on this opportunity to heighten the audience s understanding of the characters. This is highly apparent in his last opera, L Incoronazione di Poppea. Poppea, the courtesan, must behave, according to social norms, as though she is dominant to Nerone. Now that the socio historical context of this unusual power hierarchy has been explored, it is possible to explore, in an informed manner, the musicals means by which it is expressed. Monteverdi used harmonic language to portray the distinct personalities of Poppea and Nerone and the power hierarchies between them. Major minor tonality was still being developed at this time and wasn t recognized formally yet. However, according to Geoffrey Chew, most of Monteverdi s works can be analysed in terms of major minor tonality. In this essay, harmonies will be analyzed using this framework. There is much debate surrounding this change and when it occurred. Some state it was his natural path due to his giant heritage, as his parents were considered enemies to the gods he would also naturally become an enemy to the gods. Others consider the change to occur after Loki loses a bet with the dwarfs and as payment has his lips sewn shut while the gods look on and laugh. This is considered by some to be the moment Loki begins to hate the gods as they did not offer to help him and instead mocked him. This continues to persist throughout the genre, a vampire has the need for blood so it turns to a victim and takes advantage of them, while also turning the victim into a vampire as well. This shows that Bram Stoker has successfully created a stereotype of fangs that are used to feed off the blood of victims that continues through this genre. There is something about burning red eyes of a blood hungry undead that just manages to stick with the whole vampire stereotypes. Despite not knowing that it was dracula, Jonathan Harker had met up with Dracula and had taken a lot of acknowledgement to the dark fire like eyes of the Count. Jonathan describes the scene of him meeting the count for the first time, I could only see the gleam of a pair of very bright eyes, which seemed red in the lamplight, as he turned to us (Stoker 10). As the Pope declared a first crusadeagainst the Muslims, he used forgiveness from sins as a false incentive to get knights to join in his fight. In his letter of instruction, Urban says that a barbaric fury has deplorably afflicted an laid waste the churches of God in the regions of the Orient, referring to the turkish muslims that had destroyed many of the churches in asian minor (Krey 42 43). The Turks would invade the churches and desecrate and overthrow the alters, (Munro 5 8). The Seljuk Turks invaded the lands of the christians, torturing and killing the Christians in ways that were despicable. For example, they would cut the abdomen and tie the entrails to a stake, then make them walk until all organs were out of the body (Munro 5 8). These Muslims took a tract of land from the Greek Empire that would have taken two months to walk across (Munro 5 8). Pope Urban II questioned everyone, asking Whose duty is to avenge this and recover that land, if not yours? in his speech at Clermont, declaring a jihad, or holy war against the Muslim Turks (Munro 5 8). As Urban finished his speech to the Council at Clermont, all who were in attendance shouted Deus lo volt!

  • 50. Cardiovascular System Vs Respiratory System Essay The human body is not simply just an organism, or just body. The body is comprised of many different systems. Although these systems all work together with one common goal, to maintain homeostasis, perhaps there are not two systems that work more closely together than the respiratory system and the cardiovascular system. Although the entirety of each body system has a generalized common goal, these two systems share a relationship. The both focus on providing oxygen to the blood, and then ensuring that this richly oxygenated blood is circulated throughout the body. The whole human organism would fail if it lacked just one of these systems, and the individual systems would fail without each other. To fully understand how the two work together, one must fully realize the functions of each system apart. The respiratory is not one of the biggest systems of the body, but it is one of the most commonly known. However, this system is not simply for breathing or the lung system . In fact, these notions only... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two most significant to the coexistence of both systems being the pulmonary artery and pulmonary vein. The pulmonary artery carries the blood lacking in oxygen into the lungs (Bailey). From there, the oxygen from the air sacs goes into the blood vessel, while the carbon dioxide comes out (How Does Oxygen Get Into the Bloodstream) . Upon this moment, the organism exhales releasing the carbon dioxide. Meanwhile, the now oxygenated blood travels throughout the body, which especially important for the muscles. Oxygen is required for the muscles to preform any sort of strenuous activity. Faster paced breathing and an elevated heart rate aren t random symptoms of a good work out. The blood must quickly transfer oxygen to the muscles. This is so that the muscles have the ability to create adenosine tri phosphate (ATP) which carries
