Ice Fili Case Analysis
Strategic Analysis of Ice Fili
Executive Summary
We at Temple Consulting have completed an analysis of Ice Fili s current corporate standing using
data collected over the past several years. Using tools such as Porter s Approach and SWOT we have
analyzed the internal and external environments and have recommended several strategic plans of
action. Current areas for improvement such as marketing initiatives and re evaluation of distribution
channels will increase sales and profitability almost instantly. Long term plans such as lobbying
against luxury tax on ice cream, partnerships with franchise vendors, and bringing new products to the
market, performing an IPO, and planning more global efforts will help keep Ice Fili rooted as the ...

Ice Fili also finds strength in its employee retention. With a workforce of about 600 employees, over
40% have been employed for over 20 years. The open and cooperative environment proves most
beneficial for employee retention and attracting young talent to join the ranks of Ice Fili s workforce.
Although lacking behind today s technology, Ice Fili has made an outstanding effort in capital
investments to increase productivity; contributing over $8 million throughout the 1990 s.
Ice Fili s marketing approach and product distribution could be seen as weaknesses in the company s
primary activities. In 2001 the firm started its first TV marketing campaign years after competitor s
advertised through the media outlets. To date Ice Fili is still very inexperienced and far lacking of
marketing strategies deployed by Western competitors such as Unilever and Nestle. Not only does Ice
Fili need to market more fiercely against competitors within industry, it must also compete against
other consumables such as beverages and snacks. Another weakness is the distribution that is handed
over to several distribution companies. There is a much higher chance (twice as likely) to find
products of its biggest competitor Nestlé than those of Ice Fili. Another detriment is how ice cream is
viewed socially. Currently ice cream is primarily an impulse purchase. If Ice Fili can change this
outlook, it would result in an enormous

Hegel s Views On Religion
Religion for Hegel was something that was discussed throughout some of his different writings, and
was something that he had strong views on. It can be argued that his view on religion in the state for
the citizens creates the most liberal society when comparing with that of Locke or Hobbes for those
who desire to practice their faith. He gives the choice to be involved in religion, or not, and shows
how religion can benefit the functioning of civil society.
Hegel s views on religion in the state cannot be sufficiently aligned with that of Hobbes or Locke, and
Hegel s views are very much his own. In a sense, he combines elements of both of these two writers,
and takes aspects that make it difficult to draw a final conclusion that his ideas are more like one than
the other. Hegel s views on religion in relation to politics greatly differ from that of Hobbes and
Locke, but he believes that religion can play a vital role in creating ethical political communities.
Practicing your faith can provide information on morals to live by, ad create a stronger society.
Hegel believed that Christianity is able to become a public religion that all citizens can become a part
of. He thinks this religion is important because it aligns itself closely with his views on the way of
living an ethical life, and he believed that you can only become ethical by having this religious
support and faith in something. Christianity can be argued to be a religion of Sittlichkeit. This religion

Pathos And Cons Of Meat
Comparing the Arguments of Meat Consumption In conducting a rhetorical analysis of the two
articles, Joel Salatin: How to Eat Animals and Respect Them, Too by Madeline Ostrander and
Humane Meat? No Such Thing by Sunaura Taylor, both articles stand in stark contrast in terms of the
viewpoints of meat that they present. In order to gain a better understanding of these viewpoints, it s
important to understand the persuasive techniques that both authors use in the article for the reader.
More specifically, the ethos, pathos, and logos that they employ, as well the way in which the evidence
and support is presented will further elucidate upon the arguments that appear in both articles.

eating local, organic food. Her argument though does suffer a bit when she begins to talk about the
morality and ethics of eating meat. She doesn t back up her assertions with too many facts at this point
and mainly uses her opinion at times as enough justification. Her mentioning of humane meat being an
oxymoron and how it weighs on the consciences of its advocates seems to be more of her own drawn
conclusions than a fact. Nonetheless, she presents her points

Roe V. Wade Analysis
I. Introduction This paper will look at arguments that scholars, especially Catherine MacKinnon and
Reva Siegel, offer in support of the view that the principle of equal protection is better than the
Supreme Court s principle of privacy related liberty as the constitutional grounds for abortion rights.
The United States Supreme Court held in Roe v. Wade that the right of privacy also includes a woman
s right to get an abortion. Abortion policy involves women s privacy and equality (Siegel 1992). A
constitutional analysis of abortion that draws on the language from the Fourteenth Amendment of
liberty and equal protection would work well with the reality that many of the key concerns behind
personal privacy arguments are like. I think that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wade decision inspires many types of analyses, solutions, and criticisms. One solution is that the
Court could shift its focus in abortion cases and view abortion rights as raising issues of inequality.
This would mean to present the issue of a woman s right to take complete charge of her life and
destiny as well as of her position in society in relation to man. This approach is probably the most
appropriate solution to the dilemma in Roe because it avoids the trimester analysis and avoids the due

High Cost Of College
When someone hears that you re a college student, that person usually assumes broke college student .
To be honest for most college students this is true. Now coming out of high school i knew that college
would be expensive but i never knew it d be this expensive. It almost feels as if you re paying to
breathe on campus. The most expensive things in college besides the course itself are the books. Now
you would think I m paying $400 for a English course, why would they make me pay $175 for the
book alone. College text books are beyond expensive. Never did i imagine that books could cost so
much in life. In elementary school, I use to be so upset over the fact that the books at the book fair

How is education supposed to help us become better people, to have a better future yet it s costing us
way more then it should. Not only is the cost of books horrendous but the average cost of college
overall is horrendous. People constantly say stay in school! or a college degree is the only way but
how are we supposed to pay for it all? College books are costing us the same amount as someone s
rent. I understand that time, work and dedication goes into making these books but this is our future.
Our education, future career and future support is on the line. For many people the cost of getting an
education is the reason for dropping out or never returning. Its sad when it comes down to people
having to work two jobs to be able to pay it off. That s not what education should be about and making
us by these book at this outrageous price is wrong. In school, no matter what grade, were always
taught that dreams are limitless and that s true. However, the price of getting their is higher than ever.
We live in a society where it s all about money and that effects our education and the books for it.
How can we, as students, strive to be the best without the resources for it. How can we, be able to
motivate ourselves when we re in debt trying to pay off things. The least of a college students worries
should be the cost of books.
I ll never be able to agree with the high prices of books. I ll never understand the drastic cost of
college textbooks needed in a class. I can honestly sit here and say that i ve even thought about
dropping out due to the high cost of college itself. This semester I got lucky, as to where I only had to
rent one text but I know there harder and more expensive times ahead. I believe college textbooks are
needed to enhance one s mind however, the astonishing prices on the books are

PERSUASION, INDOCTRINATION, AND INOCULATION 2 There are many dangers that plague
us in today s society. One of the most pressing issues is that of driving under the influence of alcohol.
This is a problem for many reasons. Firstly, driving while intoxicated is illegal. It shows the rising
problem of substance abuse, and most importantly, driving drunk is deadly. According to
Drinkinganddriving.org (2008 2013), 900,000 are arrested each year for DUI/DWI and a full 1/3 of
those are repeat offenders . None of us are perfect. We all do things every day that ... Show more

If you are convicted of DUI, it may be on your criminal record for your entire life. Offenses also go on
your driving record, which potential employers and insurers can access, ( How Stuff Works , 1998
2013). If you are driving under the influence of alcohol, the chances of you having a substance abuse
problem are very high. Substance abuse, simply put, is losing control of yourself to a substance. If you
do not have enough self control, or common sense, not to get into a vehicle when you have any type of
foreign substance in your body, then you have a serious problem. Sure, you may not be waking up at
eight in the morning and devouring a bottle of gin, but you are not only putting yourself in danger, but
also others. With the amount of people in the United states that have problems with alcohol, and the
amount of DUI s that are given, the correlation between the numbers is not at all surprising.
Alcohol is the number one drug problem in America. There are more than 12 million alcoholics in the
U.S. Three fourths of all adults drink alcohol, and 6% of them are alcoholics. Americans spend $197
million each day on alcohol. In the United States, a person is killed in an alcohol related car accident
every 30 minutes. A 2000 study found nearly 7 million persons age 12 to 20 were binge drinkers.
Three fourths of all high school seniors report being drunk at least once. Adolescents who begin
drinking before the age of 15 are four

Visual Imagery: Visual imagery can be used in math by helping the students comprehend what they
are learning. The teacher should explain how to work out word problems and equations and write each
step out on the board. Students will then be able to see exactly how to solve the math problems which
will enhance their comprehension. Visual Imagery can also be used to explain math vocabulary.
Word Maps:A word map can be used in math to help students comprehend math vocabulary. The
teacher will create a word map for the students that they will have to fill out using a selected math
vocabulary word. The vocab word will be in the center of the map with surrounding topics, such as
definition, synonym, antonym, draw a picture, write a sentence, and how the student could use that
word in a real world situation.
Social Studies
Semantic Feature Analysis: Semantic feature analysis can be used in social studies to help students
learn vocabulary words and comprehend what they are reading. When using semantic feature analysis,
the teacher creates a chart with vocabulary words going down the left hand column and the important
featured topics going across the top row. The students then place + signs in the proper slot if the vocab
word aligns with the topic, and if the vocab word does not align with the topic the student puts a sign.

Dehumanization In The Little Mermaid
By acknowledging its sexist, gendered iconography, Hans Christian Anderson s, The Little Mermaid
(1836) subsequently establishes itself as a particularly damaging fairy tale to impressionable child
readers. Through the use of recurring images of dehumanization, sacrifice, and the tension of
naturality versus artificiality, Anderson s text promotes the deprivation of female individuality, in
favor of a domineering male power. The work ultimately serves to degrade the readers abilities to
develop the necessary skills for equality that contemporary Feminism advocates (OED).
Images of dehumanization exploring the deprivation of female individuality and the text s overall
impairment to children s understanding of equality are primarily apparent through the Little Mermaid
s lack of a soul (Anderson par 20). Specifically, just as a soul is by definition, the essential, immaterial
part of a human being, by articulating that the Little Mermaid does not have one, it alternately
communicates that she is not inherently a person but something undeveloped and lesser (OED).
Likewise, by having to rely on the Prince in an attempt to get a soul, this process leads to the Little
Mermaid s objectification and loss of personal agency. For instance, this relationship renders her from
a place of power as a Princess and into the image of a sort of prostitute, who has no voice, and must
entice the Prince s affections with only (her) form and other body languages (Anderson The Little
Mermaid). In this way, the Little Mermaid becomes the same image of the statue in her garden that
she idealizes something formed as an imitation of a person but, with no accessible complex nuances of
character (Anderson, The Little Mermaid). She does not even have a name, the demonstration of one s
unique identity linguistically. Instead, the text chooses to represent the Little Mermaid through a title
that highlights only her physical appearance (Anderson, The Little Mermaid) (OED).
As such, these images are problematic because they aid in concretizing a distortion of gender
dynamics to the deficit of female power. Notably, they do this with the idea that, where men are born
with the intrinsic qualities of personhood, girls must prove often

The Portrayal of Television Violence in the U.S. Programs and Its Impact on Viewers
Introduction
Over the past one three decades, there have been cases of increased child violence as well as adult
conflicts. Many theories have been developed to explain this growing trend in the society. Media
violence has been one of the factors considered.
There has been continuous research with regards to the relationship that exists between media
violence s and the behavior of the viewers. Some of this research has focused on children and
teenagers. Despite most of them indicating the absence of a strong relationship with real life violence,
there have been proof that it affects other aspects such educational performance and social
relationships.
The contextual features of violence portrayals and their input on viewers are depicted in a number of
ways. These include:
 Justification: the society and the media sponsors seek to justify the violence scenes in programs
with the demand for entertainment. This has been a major point of conflict.
 The consequence of violence: the impact of violence in the media on the society is taken lightly
among many groups. The argument made by some individuals is that its impacts are mostly on young
children, and the effects fade away as they grow.
 Violence portrayal with humor: this has been the trend in presenting media violence. Violence in
movies, video games and general programs has been

Bior Recognition Memory
This study is important for our understanding of the relationship between social inhibition of return
(SIOR) and recognition memory. SIOR is defined as the impact of a person s action on the observer,
which can result in slower responses to the same repeated location. This research hypothesizes that
SIOR has an effect on recognition memory. An experiment was set to examine this inhibition of action
response to recognition memory, participants were influenced by SIOR and biased in recognition
memory test (RMT). This experiment has been conducted in the standard SIOR paradigm and a RMT
to determine whether SIOR inhibits retrieval of memory. Twenty six participants were recruited in this
experiment. A pair of participants were sitting opposite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Posner and Cohen (1984) found that an inhibition showed when a participant responded to the
previous cued location in a relatively long cue target time interval whereas facilitation showed when a
participant responded to the previous cued location in a short cue target interval. The reason for the
absence of inhibitory effect is that a larger facilitation masked the inhibitory effect at the short cue
target stimulus. Posner and Cohen (1984) discovered an IOR using a simple cuing paradigm, which is
to measure IOR through central and peripheral cued boxes that aid to generate IOR either in
endogenous or exogenous signals. In the classical experiment, participants were asked to fixate at the
central box and then responded to one of the two peripheral brightening boxes, which was a cue to
summon participants attention. Higher probability of target was then presented as a dot with
probability of 0.6 in the central box to withhold the participant s attention. Participants were then
asked to make a manual respond to target box quickly. The result showed an early facilitation and late
inhibition of the cued side and a reduction of RT was observed in the uncued side. In the cue side, a
reduction of RT was similar to the uncued side before 250 msec. However, an increase of RT occurred
after approximately 250 msec. Posner and Cohen (1984) suggest that

Compare The Regions Of The Digestive System
List the regions of the digestive tract and the accessory organs of the digestive system To discuss the
regions of the digestive system, it seems more reasonable to start superiorly and work my way down.
The digestive system as a whole can be broken down into two regions called the alimentary tract, and
accessory organs (SEER, .n.d.) The Alimentary tract consists of the: mouth, pharynx, esophagus,
stomach, small intestines, and large intestines. The accessory organs are there to aid the digestive
system and are the: salivary glands, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.
The Alimentary Tract
The mouth which may also be known as the oral or buccal cavity is in charge of: food intake,
mastication (chewing), chemical digestion, and swallowing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The cheeks within the mouth are there to help move the food to the teeth for mastication. They are
also responsible for the action of sucking, which is what an infant uses to eat. The tongue not only has
many taste buds but has many functions including the moving of food to the back of the mouth and
through the teeth like the cheeks, and to extract some foods after eating as well. Dentition, or as we
call them teeth, aides in breaking down food into smaller pieces which increases the surface area of
the food for break down further down the alimentary canal. The pharynx is there to initiate the
involuntary swallowing reflex and contains the epiglottis that prevents food from going down the
trachea. There is an important process that I like to think of as a snake motion called peristalsis that
automatically propels food down the pharynx to the esophagus. Once in the esophagus it continues as
a passageway to the stomach going through an opening called the esophageal hiatus and meet the
stomach at about T7 of the vertebral column (Saladin, 2015). The stomach could most definitely be its
own discussion topic to I will be brief, it is separated into the: cardiac, fundic, body, and pyloric

Integrated Approach For Counseling And Counseling
Integrated approach to counseling is when you combined theories to cover the clients feelings,
cognitive patterns, and behavior (Corey, Theory and Practice of Counseling and Pschotherapy 8e,
2009). Each theory focuses one of these key components of a client but in counseling you need to
focus on each of these to fully help a client. The key to integrative counseling is to have multiple
theories function in harmony (Corey, Theory and Practice of Counseling and Pschotherapy 8e, 2009).
Psychotherapy has four integration approaches; technical eclecticism, theoretical integration, common
factors approach, and assimilative integration. Psychotherapy integration is different than eclectic;
which is when therapist use theories because it works and uses no other reasoning when grabbing
from multiple theories (Stricker, An Introduction to Psychotherapy Integration, 2001). Psychotherapy
integration goes past the single theory approach to examine what can be learned and combined with
other theories (Stricker, Psychotherapy Integration, 2010). Technical eclecticism is when a counselor
uses their previous knowledge of a theory and experience combined with research to use interventions
on a client; this approach is thought of to be very close to eclectic practice (Stricker, Psychotherapy
Integration ). Technical eclecticism pull ideas from theories but do not necessarily subscribe to the
original positions of the theory (Corey, Theory and Practice of Counseling and Pschotherapy 8e,

Doing Business In The Autobiography Of Benjamin Franklin
In modern society, there is a noticeable difference in the way people act in the business world and the
way people act in other aspects of life. The ethics of doing business are different from the one s
behavior in the hearth. In The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, Ben demonstrates how he treats
people in different situations, and how to handle those situations. Even though he lived more than 200
years ago, the way he uses sociability to become successful in the business world is something to be
marveled. Though he has questionable morality when he is working, the way he handles his business
can and should be modeled today. Franklin states that Having gone so far through life with a
considerable share of felicity...fit to be imitated. He calls the autobiography a model for happiness that
could be useful to the common man, suitable for different situations. Perhaps the greatest lesson Ben
teaches is the art of sociability. He is able to manipulate and persuade his fellow businessmen to climb
the social ladder, achieving prominent success in the business world and garnering great wealth. Early
in the autobiography, Franklin states, Nothing was useful which was not honest (Franklin 7). Franklin
is commonly criticized for not being honest when doing business. ... Show more content on

she is not a fan of El Salvador, and after reading what she had to say about it, it is understandable.
Women in El Salvador are considered a problem. They are raped and killed, but somehow they are the
issue. El Salvador is listed among the world s deadliest countries for women. The article states that in

She talks to a specialist, Dr. Mendez who has had to deal with many women who have been raped and
left pregnant. Since abortion is illegal in El Salvador it is difficult for Dr. Mendez to turn away the
women who were raped. Dr. Mendez stated that she was once threatened with jail time because she
wanted to help a woman whose emergency contraception did not work after she was raped. She was
told not to get involved or she would be put behind bars. The author tells of another story which
involves a 19 year old girl who gave birth outside the hospital. Her baby did not survive so she was
convicted of aggravated homicide. The punishment is a 30 year prison sentence. It is sad to think that
a doctor trying to help a poor woman who is pregnant, not by choice, will be put behind bars, but not
the man who left her that way.
There should be a simple solution to the violence against women in El Salvador; if they all flee the
country then they will not have to experience any harm. That would be a solution, but packing up and
leaving your home is more difficult than it may seem. Sure, they would be away from all the terrifying
crimes, but they would no longer see their family and friends. It would be extremely difficult to leave
the country where you have spent your whole life. Women who leave are just courageous as those who

Europe remains more powerful in this relationship because English remains as the one of the most

The second global connection is between mainland Southeast Asia and China (Marston et al 2016).
Southeast Asia has historically been the destination for many Chinese immigrants and is currently
under strong Chinese influence as well. The closeness between the two areas means that the
relationship is a strong bi directional one since any action one country takes can have profound impact
on its neighbors. China has more power in this relationship as seen in the case of the dam construction
on Mekong River. According to Mekong River Dams: Harnessing the Mekong or Killing it? (Nijhuis
2015), the people living in downstream riverbanks have to bear the cost of decreasing fish supply as a
side effect of the Chinese dams. China is more powerful mainly because of the geographic advantages

Once upon a time, there was a prosperous kingdom name Hegel. It was ruled by a wise king named
King Hernandez. The king and queen of Hegel had seven good looking princesses name Red, Orange,
Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. Each of their names has represented their characteristic.
Among of them, the youngest daughter, princess Violet is the most beautiful. She has an ideal body
shape, softly spoken, the flawless skin as silk, the red moist lip and the beautiful long hair. She

between them was unavoidable to happen.
King Hernandez was so worried with the war. He was really concerned with her seven daughters. He
asked soldiers to bring her daughters in a safe place in the rainbow jungle. The soldiers built a hut for
the seven princesses. The king also asked the soldiers to provide food for 3 months. After the soldiers

Union University Fundamentalism
Union University could easily be misconstrued as having a fundamentalist identity. Culturally, Union
shares traits with fundamentalist institutions, such as strict curfew rules, ban on the use of alcoholic
beverages both off and on campus, as well as limits on public displays of affection. Union also has a
policy against dancing at campus sponsored events in Section V under community values in the
campus life handbook. According to the same handbook, Union University establishes rules and
barriers to encourage and strengthen its community of believers so that they may become leaders of
the Christian community within the university and beyond. Essentially, Union s rules and guidelines
are what construct the Union Bubble. However, the bubble ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The militant philosophy originated from the rising modernity in northern Baptist and Presbyterian
congregations, a growing fear of evolution being taught in schools, and the Scopes trial results. Fear of
these movements as well as the apocalyptic scenarios concocted after World War I, and the rise of
communism meant the second coming of Christ and the tribulation were right around the corner. In the
growing world of uncertainty, the fundamentalist movement sprung up out of a necessity for the
defense of faith. Fundamentalists originated from the fear of the unknown and speculation of what
could be. Perhaps one of the greatest ties between early fundamentalism and Union University stem
from fundamentalism s roots. At the beginning Northern Baptists and Presbyterians battled with
Southern conservative Baptists. In 1919, fundamentalists gathered to discuss what to do with the rise
of modernity in congregations and the danger of evolution in schools. Another rift among
fundamentalists was also occurring in the Northern Baptist Convention, led by the liberal Baptist
Harry Fosdick, who in opposition to the rise of fundamentalism in Southern congregations, wrote
Shall the Fundamentalists Win? Perhaps the struggle between fundamentalists and modernists best
description comes from Princeton s J. Gresham Machen who argued, Modernist compromises had so
changed the basic Christian faith that it was no longer recognizable as the same religion held by
orthodox believers through the previous nineteen centuries. So much of the fundamentalist movement
originates from fear, and the possibility that the identity of the Christian faith may become lost in a
slippery slope due to the rise of modernist

Holland Culture Research Paper
Holland Culture During WWll Holland homes usually have small front doors and big windows that
stand out. Their houses are full of large amounts of furniture, plants, and flowers, they re crowded but
clean and in order. Holland houses are packed together and are highly populated. The Dutch style
appeared after Spain and Holland were divided in 1581. Rich Dutch sellers started building fairly
small but impressive houses, that were high, deep, and thin overlooking a canal, in Amsterdam.
Modern became the main style after World War ll, when the prices of houses started rising. Rotterdam
is one example of this. Rotterdam was severely damaged after World War ll, the main part of the city
was rebuilt by Americans. The American style was steel and glass skyscrapers. Hollands lands were

Socratic Method In Law School
Law students and Lawyers are trained to be insensitive for a number of reasons. For starters the
environment the law student, or lawyer, experiences either in law school or in their ideal practice,
warrants competition. With competition comes aggression and hostility. In an environment like that,
insensitivity is second nature. At that point, insensitivity becomes an innate ability that you will carry
with you throughout the rest of your law school experience and so forth. The latter is rooted in the
idea of the Socratic method, the I ask a question, you answer, and I attack the validity of your entire
response ordeal, which most schools have adopted into their institutions. The latter is displayed in the
movie by Kingsfield as he addressed his class in the beginning and told them that he would be using
the Socratic method throughout the course of the semester. By using this method, it improves the
reaction time, the analytic response, and improves the targeted party s critical thinking ability
regarding hypotheticals. Not only that, it prepares the law student, and lawyer, mentally and
emotionally for the adversarial process. According to The Princeton Review (2017), in a best case
scenario, the Socratic method successfully derails a properly prepared student by challenging their
initial premises in the hopes of adverting the targeted individual s attention to the bigger picture (The
Princeton Review, 2017). Take the movie for example, Hart was not prepared the first day

A Class Divided Reflection
Diversity in Society
Everyone is likely to experience some form of discrimination or prejudice; as is anyone capable of
acting prejudiced towards others. On April 5th, 1968, a teacher in Riceville, Iowa named Jane Elliot
conducted an experiment with her third grade class that dealt with the concept of discrimination; and
was documented in Peters 1985 A Class Divided . The exercise originally took place the day after
Martin Luther King was assassinated. The documentary is an eye opener to the world of racism and
discrimination. Bucher (2010) describes racism as discrimination based on the belief that one race is

their children, like one brown eyed boy s father had done the prior week. But when blue eyed Russell
forgot his glasses the following day, it had to be because he has blue eyes, since Susan, whom has
brown eyes, remembered her glasses. Elliot also led the children to decide that since blue eyed Greg
said he likes to hit his litter sister, this conveys blue eyed people are naughty. From here, we witness
some of superior blue eyed kids began to act arrogant and bossy to the inferior brown eyed kids. Blue
eyed Russell was taunting John at recess, calling him brown eyes and John retaliated by hitting him.
After the two boys fought at recess the teacher asked if responding with violence made him feel better,
he replied no. His answer goes to show that responding with violence is ineffective and a waste of
time and energy. They compared it to someone calling a black man the N word. Even academic
achievement goes up when the children were in the superior group. When doing the card packs the

superior blue eyed children spent only three minutes, the following day the superior group of brown

Is The Bible Reliable
In this day and age, teens have many questions regarding the Bible and its authenticity. There are
many sources where good and bad information can be absorbed and can shake their beliefs. The news,
media and Internet have things that may cause people to question their beliefs in God and trust in the
Bible.
Some questions that teens may be having trouble with the Bible are: Where did it come from? Can it
be trusted? This article will answer all those questions and set you on the correct path. I will talk about
what the Bible is, who wrote it, when were the books of the bible written, what languages are used and
the most important question, is it reliable.
WHAT IS THE BIBLE?
The word Bible comes from the words bíblia in Latin and bíblos in Greek. The Latin meaning

There are two main sections of the Bible. They are the Old Testament and the New Testament. The
Bible is then divided into six minor sections: the law, history, poetry, prophecy, biographies and
epistles. The Christian religion is based on the Bible and its teachings and shows how to apply God s

Recommendation Of A Company On Aerospace Manufacturing...
I recommend to the board to buy a stock in Boeing. Boeing is a well established aerospace
manufacturing company with a high dividend yield. It had made substantial positive gains. Some of
Boeing s strengths include strong market position, increase in global aerospace and defense spending,
increase in passenger travel, decreased expenses, and increased operational performance. I believe our
company will benefit from Boeings high dividend yield and receive positive gains.
Aerospace manufacturing is an industry aimed towards markets that produce commercial jetliners,
defense aircraft, space systems, and other related products. The two major markets are Aerospace and
defense. Several manufacturing companies and suppliers are well known for producing and supplying
the aircrafts that are used every day. Some of these major players have contracts in place to produce
aircraft with government and air transportation companies. Some of the same major companies also
have contracts with smaller companies to produce certain products.
Transportation aircraft would be considered the biggest segment of the aircraft industry. These
aircrafts vary in size and in function and are responsible for transporting people and freight all over
the world. The airline industry plays a pivotal role in the success of aerospace products, with NASA
and the Department of Defense being the largest United States customers of aerospace technology and
products.

Religion is the main driving force for many people and a source of hope for countless others.
Christianity is based on the Hebrews and Judaism. Without these religions the single largest religion
would not have come to fruition so it is important to know how these religions set the foundation and
how Christianity took its first steps and leaps from there.
The Hebrews were the first people to practice a monotheistic religion. But even being the first religion
to attempt to practice monotheism, many of its early followers had multiple gods. Religious figures
warned the people of the repercussions of worshiping more than one god under the Hebrew tradition.
But the power of the Hebrew god Yahweh was limited to the territory owned by the Hebrews. ... Show

How Wireless Technology Has Changed Improved
Abstract: The purpose of this research paper is to demonstrate how much Wireless Technology has
really improved, since the year James Clerk Maxwell developed and explained the theory of
electromagnetic waves on 1865; And Heinrich Hertz put into practice Maxwell s theory by
experimenting with electromagnetic waves measuring their speed and wavelength between the years
1885 1889; Until present days. As this type of technology grows, it is perceivable to what extent
people have learned how to manipulate electromagnetic waves at will. For the purpose of this paper, I
have done a very extensive research looking for remarkable improvements that would take a
substantial and detailed portion that would explain the what, when and how of each major
breakthrough, on the body of this research. Wireless Technology has become a very important part of
our daily lives as individual users, groups, or even businesses since radio waves were discovered, and
we learned how to manipulate it to some extent. It isn t odd to see a device which doesn t depend of a
cable to receive/transmit a signal or radio waves nowadays. We often see people using smartphones,
laptops without requiring any external connection to the LAN, or even our own radios. All of these
wouldn t be possible without the existence of Wireless Technology. But, has there really been a whole
deal of improvements on this type of technology? According to (Merriam Webster, Inc., n.d), to

Advantages And Disadvantages Of An Operating System
Introduction
An operating system (OS) is the software component of a computer system that is responsible for the
management and coordination of activities and the sharing of the resources of the computer. The OS
acts as a host for application programs that run on the machine. As a host, one of the purposes of an
OS is to handle the details of the operation of the hardware. This relieves application programs from
having to manage these details and makes it easier to write applications. Almost all computers use an
OS of some type. The operating system is also responsible for security, ensuring that unauthorized

Effect Of Ascorbic Acid On Vitamin B2
Chemical stability examination of vitamins B6 (Pyridoxine), vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and vitamin B2
(riboflavin) for neonatal use in parental nutrition
Background
Vitamins are parental nutrition (PN) constituents used to provide daily requirements and supply
deficiencies in neonates. The vitamin loss in the parental nutrition bad is commonly caused by
chemical degradation. The reduction thiamine and oxidation of vitamin C are the frequent reactions of
chemical degradation. The vitamin C is most unstable vitamin added to parental nutrition. It is highly
oxidized. Its oxidation is influenced by high temperatures and the catalysis by the oligo elements like
copper. Its first degradation route is reversible and has biological activities while the remaining
degradation routes are irreversible and lack biological activities. The degradation of vitamin C
depends on the availability of oxygen in the medium (packaging material used). Various amino acids
also affect the vitamin C stability due to its copper ions chelating and this reduces its potential which
further decreases residual oxygen effect. The vitamin C end product (oxalic acid formation) possesses
a toxic potential and quickly interacts with free available calcium ions thereby initiating calcium
oxalate precipitation.
Thiamine degradation is caused by reduction as result of the presence of sodium metabisulfite which
is an antioxidant applied in the crystallization of amino acids solution. Vitamin B2 is most

What Is Quantum Teleportation Real And Achieved Moving An...
Is it possible for an object or a person to be taken apart into atoms and be put back together in another
location, or another word can a person teleport? Even though teleportation sounds like science fiction,
it does indeed exist just in a smaller scale. Up to this day scientists were able to make quantum
teleportation real and achieved moving an atom from location A to location B in seconds. According to
Jon Austin professor Michio Kaku of City University, New York, maintains the technology to teleport
a living person to another part of the Earth or even space could be available within decades or at by
the next century. The existence of an actual teleport has been proven and demonstrated by Michio
Kaku. The overall definition of quantum teleportation is that something is able to travel from one
location to the other instantly and without any contact. The in depth definition is that an atom or a
molecule can break the distance in a moment without any contact between location and on a quantum
level. Quantum teleportation considers all living and nonliving things as data. People consist of data
that is maintained in atoms and molecules. and theoretically human body can be taken apart into atoms
and put back together in a different place. Michio Kaku went to high school Kaberle in Palo Alto,

The Benefits Of Air Pollution
To survive, the human body is constantly taking in oxygen. But the oxygen inhaled today is some of
the filthiest, most polluted air ever, and it is only getting worse with society s negligence. What is the
price of clean, unpolluted fresh air? The average cost of an air purifier ranges from $80 for the
cheaper, albeit less effective, models to $400 for higher quality air purification. Not to mention the
added repair and maintenance costs of anywhere between $20 to $200 for cleaning, replacement
filters, et cetera. To clarify, the cost of breathing easy can add up very quickly, but the cost is not just
financially it is physically too. Air pollution does not come in the form of a giant, flying two headed
dragon and does not typically manifest on the body like a ghastly goiter. Air pollution is invisible to
the human eye. To see it, special equipment from NASA or other research facilities would be required.
But just because it is not visible, does not mean it is not present, air pollution is everywhere and
sometimes more dense and deadly in some places than others. This poisonous air is caused by motor
vehicles, planes, ships, energy plants, and much more, things quite necessary for society to function.
The solution to dirty air cannot be so drastic as to ban automobiles or energy plants, and it would not
happen overnight. However, society can take several meaningful, if small, steps to reduce air pollution
to the point where it can decrease the number of stroke, asthma, and

Orientalism In Heat And Dust
Heat and Dust, published in 1975 is a novel by Ruth Prawer Jhabvala which won the Booker Prize in
1975. The novel was made into a film in 1983 by Merchant Ivory Productions. The initial stages of the
novel are told in the first person, from the narrative voice of a woman who travels to India, to find out
more about her step grandmother, Olivia. She has various letters written by Olivia, and through
reading these, and learning from her own experiences in India, she uncovers the truth about Olivia and
her life during the British Raj in the 1920s.
Heat and Dust is really two stories, or one story told twice. The action takes place the first time in
1923 between February, when the dry season starts, and the beginning of the monsoon in September;

Marcel Duchamp ( 1887-1968 )
Marcel Duchamp (1887 1968) was a French artist, known for his contributions to the Dada movement
and for his influence on other artists that followed him. He was born in Blainville sur Crevon, a small
town in northern France where his father served as a notary. His mother was artistically inclined and
thus Duchamp became interested in sketching and painting when he was a teenager. At the age of
seventeen, he moved to Paris to study art at the Académie Julian. As a young artist, he was influenced
by Cubism and Futurism, the two new art movements that were developing at the time. The Cubist
artists reduced objects (or people) to basic shapes and tried to show different sides of images at once.
The Futurists wanted to find ways to depict ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In some cases he also created art by altering posters found on the street or prints of works by other
artists.
During the period of World War I (1914 1918), Duchamp became associated with a group of Parisian
artists known as the Dadaists. Dada was an art movement that was characterized by a spirit of anarchic
nihilism. The Dadaists were reacting to the madness of the European culture that had found itself
engaged in a bloody, devastating war. In the words of Tomkins, dada s organized insanity was a direct
response to the nightmare of unending, meaningless slaughter in the trenches. Another writer, Sarane
Alexandrian, describes Dada as a detonation of anger which showed itself in insults and buffoonery.
The Dadaists also attacked the traditional values of art. As claimed by Hans Richter in his book on the
Dada movement, these attacks were meant to mock the pretensions of European culture and the
traditional obsession of artists, art critics and art lovers with all that is holy.
Dada is often referred to as anti art and the Dada movement is often called an anti movement. As
noted by Alexandrian, the Dadaists seemed to be interested in rejecting everything that existed in art
and culture at the time. In Alexandrian s words, it was an anti movement which opposed not only all

Character Differences In A Monster Calls
A Monster Calls
Both the novel A Monster Calls and the movie directed by J.A. Bayona were successful in their aim to
make viewers and readers touch base with their emotions. However, the movie was time boxed for
under two hours and a few key points leading to the climax were unintentionally passed. Even though
the book and the film portrayed the monster, the father, all the tales as well as the mother s death in
extremely similar perspectives, they showed differences in their interpretation of the mother, Conor,
the grandmother, Harry, the bullying and the nightmare. Looking at the amount of character
differences, one can infer that there was a plot twist which led to the recreation of many individuals.
The similarities between the novel and the movie in terms of characters were found in the
personalities of the monster and the father. The monster had his wise and witty charm as he told all the
tales with his hidden messages which could be converted into Conor s life, such as the story of the evil
queen telling Conor that things are not always as they seem. He also had a sense of humor when he
briefly visited Conor, making wise observations and putting a funny spin on them. The father was also
much alike as he provided emotional support throughout the story and was a fun yet a serious parent.
Both of these characters were identically represented since changing them would alter the stories base.
There was an ample amount of character differences

The Benefits Of Real Property In Mexico
Canadians and North Americans are buying more property in Mexico than ever before. This is partly
because the Mexican government has been making it much easier. In 1973 the Mexican government
changed their foreign investment law to allow non Mexican nationals to buy real estate anywhere in
Mexico except the Restricted Zone (which is located within 31 miles from the coastline and 62 miles
from its borders). In 1993 the law was amended to allow foreigners to buy real property in the
Restricted Zone by using a Fideicomiso which is a trust agreement established with a Mexican bank.
The bank acts on behalf of the foreign buyer holding the title to the real property, becoming the
trustee. The bank then, as trustee, has a fiduciary responsibility ... Show more content on

Some estimates say as low as 7% on a small loan amount or as high as 18% with larger loans from
private lenders. Credit scores can also have an impact like they do here in the United States. Paying all
cash upfront is simple, easy, and the norm in the past but financing is becoming more available.
Seller financing is very popular and works basically the same as it does here in the United States. But
there is also another type of seller financing called: Reserve of Domain. It is typically used if the
buyer has all the money to purchase the property, but it is tied up in assets and isn t liquefiable at the
time of sale. One example would be if the foreign buyer has the money in an IRA and is only
permitted to withdraw a small portion without being penalized. The Reserve of Domain is easier and
cheaper to set up than an ordinary mortgage. The buyer pays the seller most of the sales price for the
property. Then the buyer and the seller enter an agreement regarding the payment of the remainder of
the sales price. The deed is then put in Reserve by a Notario Publico. When the buyer pays the seller
the balance along with the interest that was agreed upon, the seller contacts the Notario Publico and
signs off that he s been paid. The Notario Publico then goes to the Public Registry of Property and lifts
the Reserve from the deed.
Large international banks working in Mexico can offer mortgage loans and some can even help you
with your Fideicomiso trust permit from the Ministry

Two Main Types Of Therapeutic Cloning
Argumentative Writing Rough Draft There are two main types of cloning that are known about,
therapeutic cloning and reproductive cloning. Therapeutic cloning is when you take a small sample of
DNA and insert into an embryo to make the embryo to have healthy parts. The parts are accepted by
our body because they are from your DNA. Therapeutic cloning does not happen naturally in nature
and it is asexual. Reproductive cloning is another type of cloning and unlike therapeutic cloning is
sometimes occurs in nature. An example of natural reproductive cloning is meiosis and plants. This is
asexual as well since it is an exact replica of DNA from one sample. Cloning may have many benefits
but it has downsides. Cloning is a crude science that should not be researched upon because of its ...

Reproductive cloning is when you get an offspring asexually that has a copy of your DNA and has the
same features as you. Some may argue that a clone would not know it is a clone until it is told. This
logic according to others also are the same for people who segregate clones. Clones can not be
identified unless you are told they are a clone, however if a person looks identical to their parents and
has the same behavior patterns it is most likely a clone. It does not take a scientist to figure that out.
Even if clones were integrated into society and they are not segregated they could become criminals or
possibly have a genetic mutation. If regular humans can resort to crime so can a clone. Clones being
segregated is a large possibility however, if someone s DNA was cloned the clone belongs to that
person according to http://io9.gizmodo.com/. People like to take ownership. An example of this are
Roman Emperors, there was only one emperor who split up the Western and Eastern side since they
were willing to give up their power for the well being of a

Health Insurance Law Essay
Massachusetts Health Insurance Law Around the month of June the year 2006, a survey that was
carried out revealed that there were close to 375,000 residents of Massachusetts who were uninsured
which sum to about 6% of the total population of the state (Raymond, 2007). Health care is one of the
key needs that any person is required to have. Since it comes at a cost, health insurance is always a
platform to ease the hustle here and there. The health insurance law, chapter 58, was enacted with the
main aim of reducing the percentage of the residents living without health insurance in Massachusetts
(Polestar Communications Strategic Analysis, Associated Industries of Massachusetts Foundation,
2006). The law was introduced to make sure that both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This move that was taken by the Massachusetts state has lots of advantages as far as the healthy well
being of the residents is taken into considerations. Some of the top advantages include:
1. Improved Health care
A state that comes up with legislations that are to ensure that all its residents have access to health care
insurance is a state that has health as pillar at its heart. The approach is one of the effective ones in
ensuring that all the residents have access to proper and affordable healthcare services. When the
health care is made accessible to everyone, the entire state of healthcare will be greatly improved.
Having improved healthcare is always a priority and a desire to very many not only states but even
countries across the globe.
2. Control Over Health Services
The state through its laws that were implement safeguards the residents from exploitation by people
who have the aim of making more money from the gap that did exist. The law stipulates the premium
rates through a board which is renewed on an annual basis. This also helps in bringing order in all
matters to do with health care insurance.
3. Reduced ethnic disparities in

The War On Israeli Occupation
War is generally considered a to be a heinous act, a harbinger of death, destruction and disaster. War is
often fought for ignorant reasons such as wealth and property, although defence and fighting for the
greater good is often exhibited through history. Its facile to claim that war is unjustifiable under
personal or political reasons, or that it s a waste of human life and that passive resistance is the key.
Nevertheless, in opposition, there are particular circumstances in which war is justifiable. Examples of
this are: Under international bodies of law (Geneva and Haug conventions), the principals of the just
war theory which is in stark contrast to 2 other approaches on the concept of war, being Pacifism and
Realism , as well as Islamic reasoning on the conduct, darurah (necessity) and justifications of
initiating or continuing conflict as well as theoretical and historical understandings of what it means
for a war to be just. An ongoing example being the war on Israeli occupation by the Palestinians,
another example being the British interference in the Second World War against the belligerent Nazi
regime. Although, in retrospect, the Second World War is also used in pacifist ideologies, against war
justification. Various academic enumerations interpret and apply the renowned just war Theory
including Peter S.Temes s The just war: an American reflection on the morality of war in our times as
well as discussions on the Islamic etiquettes of war in Youssef H.

  • 2. Ice Fili Case Analysis Strategic Analysis of Ice Fili Executive Summary We at Temple Consulting have completed an analysis of Ice Fili s current corporate standing using data collected over the past several years. Using tools such as Porter s Approach and SWOT we have analyzed the internal and external environments and have recommended several strategic plans of action. Current areas for improvement such as marketing initiatives and re evaluation of distribution channels will increase sales and profitability almost instantly. Long term plans such as lobbying against luxury tax on ice cream, partnerships with franchise vendors, and bringing new products to the market, performing an IPO, and planning more global efforts will help keep Ice Fili rooted as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ice Fili also finds strength in its employee retention. With a workforce of about 600 employees, over 40% have been employed for over 20 years. The open and cooperative environment proves most beneficial for employee retention and attracting young talent to join the ranks of Ice Fili s workforce. Although lacking behind today s technology, Ice Fili has made an outstanding effort in capital investments to increase productivity; contributing over $8 million throughout the 1990 s. Ice Fili s marketing approach and product distribution could be seen as weaknesses in the company s primary activities. In 2001 the firm started its first TV marketing campaign years after competitor s advertised through the media outlets. To date Ice Fili is still very inexperienced and far lacking of marketing strategies deployed by Western competitors such as Unilever and Nestle. Not only does Ice Fili need to market more fiercely against competitors within industry, it must also compete against other consumables such as beverages and snacks. Another weakness is the distribution that is handed over to several distribution companies. There is a much higher chance (twice as likely) to find products of its biggest competitor Nestlé than those of Ice Fili. Another detriment is how ice cream is viewed socially. Currently ice cream is primarily an impulse purchase. If Ice Fili can change this outlook, it would result in an enormous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hegel s Views On Religion Religion for Hegel was something that was discussed throughout some of his different writings, and was something that he had strong views on. It can be argued that his view on religion in the state for the citizens creates the most liberal society when comparing with that of Locke or Hobbes for those who desire to practice their faith. He gives the choice to be involved in religion, or not, and shows how religion can benefit the functioning of civil society. Hegel s views on religion in the state cannot be sufficiently aligned with that of Hobbes or Locke, and Hegel s views are very much his own. In a sense, he combines elements of both of these two writers, and takes aspects that make it difficult to draw a final conclusion that his ideas are more like one than the other. Hegel s views on religion in relation to politics greatly differ from that of Hobbes and Locke, but he believes that religion can play a vital role in creating ethical political communities. Practicing your faith can provide information on morals to live by, ad create a stronger society. Hegel believed that Christianity is able to become a public religion that all citizens can become a part of. He thinks this religion is important because it aligns itself closely with his views on the way of living an ethical life, and he believed that you can only become ethical by having this religious support and faith in something. Christianity can be argued to be a religion of Sittlichkeit. This religion ultimately ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pathos And Cons Of Meat Comparing the Arguments of Meat Consumption In conducting a rhetorical analysis of the two articles, Joel Salatin: How to Eat Animals and Respect Them, Too by Madeline Ostrander and Humane Meat? No Such Thing by Sunaura Taylor, both articles stand in stark contrast in terms of the viewpoints of meat that they present. In order to gain a better understanding of these viewpoints, it s important to understand the persuasive techniques that both authors use in the article for the reader. More specifically, the ethos, pathos, and logos that they employ, as well the way in which the evidence and support is presented will further elucidate upon the arguments that appear in both articles. She doesn t back up her assertions with too many facts at this point and mainly uses her opinion at times as enough justification. Her mentioning of humane meat being an oxymoron and how it weighs on the consciences of its advocates seems to be more of her own drawn conclusions than a fact. • 5. Roe V. Wade Analysis I. Introduction This paper will look at arguments that scholars, especially Catherine MacKinnon and Reva Siegel, offer in support of the view that the principle of equal protection is better than the Supreme Court s principle of privacy related liberty as the constitutional grounds for abortion rights. The United States Supreme Court held in Roe v. Wade that the right of privacy also includes a woman s right to get an abortion. Abortion policy involves women s privacy and equality (Siegel 1992). A constitutional analysis of abortion that draws on the language from the Fourteenth Amendment of liberty and equal protection would work well with the reality that many of the key concerns behind personal privacy arguments are like. I think that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wade decision inspires many types of analyses, solutions, and criticisms. One solution is that the Court could shift its focus in abortion cases and view abortion rights as raising issues of inequality. This would mean to present the issue of a woman s right to take complete charge of her life and destiny as well as of her position in society in relation to man. This approach is probably the most appropriate solution to the dilemma in Roe because it avoids the trimester analysis and avoids the due process ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Now coming out of high school i knew that college would be expensive but i never knew it d be this expensive. It almost feels as if you re paying to breathe on campus. The most expensive things in college besides the course itself are the books. Now you would think I m paying $400 for a English course, why would they make me pay $175 for the book alone. How is education supposed to help us become better people, to have a better future yet it s costing us way more then it should. Not only is the cost of books horrendous but the average cost of college overall is horrendous. People constantly say stay in school! or a college degree is the only way but how are we supposed to pay for it all? College books are costing us the same amount as someone s rent. I understand that time, work and dedication goes into making these books but this is our future. Our education, future career and future support is on the line. For many people the cost of getting an education is the reason for dropping out or never returning. Its sad when it comes down to people having to work two jobs to be able to pay it off. That s not what education should be about and making us by these book at this outrageous price is wrong. In school, no matter what grade, were always taught that dreams are limitless and that s true. However, the price of getting their is higher than ever. We live in a society where it s all about money and that effects our education and the books for it. How can we, as students, strive to be the best without the resources for it. How can we, be able to motivate ourselves when we re in debt trying to pay off things. The least of a college students worries should be the cost of books. I ll never be able to agree with the high prices of books. I ll never understand the drastic cost of college textbooks needed in a class. I can honestly sit here and say that i ve even thought about dropping out due to the high cost of college itself. Martinez PSY 285 Instructor: Chris Shreve PERSUASION, INDOCTRINATION, AND INOCULATION 2 There are many dangers that plague us in today s society. One of the most pressing issues is that of driving under the influence of alcohol. This is a problem for many reasons. Firstly, driving while intoxicated is illegal. It shows the rising problem of substance abuse, and most importantly, driving drunk is deadly. If you are driving under the influence of alcohol, the chances of you having a substance abuse problem are very high. Substance abuse, simply put, is losing control of yourself to a substance. If you do not have enough self control, or common sense, not to get into a vehicle when you have any type of foreign substance in your body, then you have a serious problem. Sure, you may not be waking up at eight in the morning and devouring a bottle of gin, but you are not only putting yourself in danger, but also others. With the amount of people in the United states that have problems with alcohol, and the amount of DUI s that are given, the correlation between the numbers is not at all surprising. Alcohol is the number one drug problem in America. There are more than 12 million alcoholics in the U.S. Three fourths of all adults drink alcohol, and 6% of them are alcoholics. Americans spend $197 million each day on alcohol. In the United States, a person is killed in an alcohol related car accident every 30 minutes. • 10. Dehumanization In The Little Mermaid By acknowledging its sexist, gendered iconography, Hans Christian Anderson s, The Little Mermaid (1836) subsequently establishes itself as a particularly damaging fairy tale to impressionable child readers. Through the use of recurring images of dehumanization, sacrifice, and the tension of naturality versus artificiality, Anderson s text promotes the deprivation of female individuality, in favor of a domineering male power. The work ultimately serves to degrade the readers abilities to develop the necessary skills for equality that contemporary Feminism advocates (OED). Images of dehumanization exploring the deprivation of female individuality and the text s overall impairment to children s understanding of equality are primarily apparent through the Little Mermaid s lack of a soul (Anderson par 20). Specifically, just as a soul is by definition, the essential, immaterial part of a human being, by articulating that the Little Mermaid does not have one, it alternately communicates that she is not inherently a person but something undeveloped and lesser (OED). Likewise, by having to rely on the Prince in an attempt to get a soul, this process leads to the Little Mermaid s objectification and loss of personal agency. For instance, this relationship renders her from a place of power as a Princess and into the image of a sort of prostitute, who has no voice, and must entice the Prince s affections with only (her) form and other body languages (Anderson The Little Mermaid). In this way, the Little Mermaid becomes the same image of the statue in her garden that she idealizes something formed as an imitation of a person but, with no accessible complex nuances of character (Anderson, The Little Mermaid). She does not even have a name, the demonstration of one s unique identity linguistically. Instead, the text chooses to represent the Little Mermaid through a title that highlights only her physical appearance (Anderson, The Little Mermaid) (OED). As such, these images are problematic because they aid in concretizing a distortion of gender dynamics to the deficit of female power. Notably, they do this with the idea that, where men are born with the intrinsic qualities of personhood, girls must prove often ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Portrayal Of Television Violence Qianrui Luo Dr. Jason Loviglio MCS 400 Project Outline The Portrayal of Television Violence in the U.S. Programs and Its Impact on Viewers Introduction Over the past one three decades, there have been cases of increased child violence as well as adult conflicts. Many theories have been developed to explain this growing trend in the society. Media violence has been one of the factors considered. There has been continuous research with regards to the relationship that exists between media violence s and the behavior of the viewers. Some of this research has focused on children and teenagers. Despite most of them indicating the absence of a strong relationship with real life violence, there have been proof that it affects other aspects such educational performance and social relationships. The contextual features of violence portrayals and their input on viewers are depicted in a number of ways. These include:  Justification: the society and the media sponsors seek to justify the violence scenes in programs with the demand for entertainment. This has been a major point of conflict.  The consequence of violence: the impact of violence in the media on the society is taken lightly among many groups. The argument made by some individuals is that its impacts are mostly on young children, and the effects fade away as they grow.  Violence portrayal with humor: this has been the trend in presenting media violence. SIOR is defined as the impact of a person s action on the observer, which can result in slower responses to the same repeated location. This research hypothesizes that SIOR has an effect on recognition memory. An experiment was set to examine this inhibition of action response to recognition memory, participants were influenced by SIOR and biased in recognition memory test (RMT). This experiment has been conducted in the standard SIOR paradigm and a RMT to determine whether SIOR inhibits retrieval of memory. Twenty six participants were recruited in this experiment. Posner and Cohen (1984) found that an inhibition showed when a participant responded to the previous cued location in a relatively long cue target time interval whereas facilitation showed when a participant responded to the previous cued location in a short cue target interval. The reason for the absence of inhibitory effect is that a larger facilitation masked the inhibitory effect at the short cue target stimulus. Posner and Cohen (1984) discovered an IOR using a simple cuing paradigm, which is to measure IOR through central and peripheral cued boxes that aid to generate IOR either in endogenous or exogenous signals. In the classical experiment, participants were asked to fixate at the central box and then responded to one of the two peripheral brightening boxes, which was a cue to summon participants attention. Higher probability of target was then presented as a dot with probability of 0.6 in the central box to withhold the participant s attention. Participants were then asked to make a manual respond to target box quickly. The result showed an early facilitation and late inhibition of the cued side and a reduction of RT was observed in the uncued side. In the cue side, a reduction of RT was similar to the uncued side before 250 msec. However, an increase of RT occurred after approximately 250 msec. Posner and Cohen (1984) suggest that ... The digestive system as a whole can be broken down into two regions called the alimentary tract, and accessory organs (SEER, .n.d.) The Alimentary tract consists of the: mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestines, and large intestines. The accessory organs are there to aid the digestive system and are the: salivary glands, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. Dentition, or as we call them teeth, aides in breaking down food into smaller pieces which increases the surface area of the food for break down further down the alimentary canal. The pharynx is there to initiate the involuntary swallowing reflex and contains the epiglottis that prevents food from going down the trachea. There is an important process that I like to think of as a snake motion called peristalsis that automatically propels food down the pharynx to the esophagus. Once in the esophagus it continues as a passageway to the stomach going through an opening called the esophageal hiatus and meet the stomach at about T7 of the vertebral column (Saladin, 2015). The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, built on a super customized/advanced version of Super Mario 64 s engine, permitted new, never before seen features. Ocarina of time was originally ported on a 64DD peripheral cartridge. The game ended up released on a 256 megabit cartridge; the biggest Nintendo produced at the time due to the sheer size of Ocarina. Nintendo added a targeting system which was entirely new to video games and the camera mechanics were unprecedented. People felt that in a 3d game they couldn t move their character exactly where they wanted them to go while moving in a three dimensional environment, especially while targeting. Targeting can activate by pressing the Z trigger on the back of the N64 controller. This allowed the camera to lock onto an important object. • 16. Integrated Approach For Counseling And Counseling Integrated approach to counseling is when you combined theories to cover the clients feelings, cognitive patterns, and behavior (Corey, Theory and Practice of Counseling and Pschotherapy 8e, 2009). Each theory focuses one of these key components of a client but in counseling you need to focus on each of these to fully help a client. The key to integrative counseling is to have multiple theories function in harmony (Corey, Theory and Practice of Counseling and Pschotherapy 8e, 2009). Psychotherapy has four integration approaches; technical eclecticism, theoretical integration, common factors approach, and assimilative integration. Psychotherapy integration is different than eclectic; which is when therapist use theories because it works and uses no other reasoning when grabbing from multiple theories (Stricker, An Introduction to Psychotherapy Integration, 2001). Psychotherapy integration goes past the single theory approach to examine what can be learned and combined with other theories (Stricker, Psychotherapy Integration, 2010). Technical eclecticism is when a counselor uses their previous knowledge of a theory and experience combined with research to use interventions on a client; this approach is thought of to be very close to eclectic practice (Stricker, Psychotherapy Integration ). The ethics of doing business are different from the one s behavior in the hearth. In The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, Ben demonstrates how he treats people in different situations, and how to handle those situations. Even though he lived more than 200 years ago, the way he uses sociability to become successful in the business world is something to be marveled. Though he has questionable morality when he is working, the way he handles his business can and should be modeled today. Franklin states that Having gone so far through life with a considerable share of felicity...fit to be imitated. He calls the autobiography a model for happiness that could be useful to the common man, suitable for different situations. Perhaps the greatest lesson Ben teaches is the art of sociability. He is able to manipulate and persuade his fellow businessmen to climb the social ladder, achieving prominent success in the business world and garnering great wealth. Girls Are A Problem By Catalina Lobo-Guerrero In El Salvador, Girls are a Problem I don t want to go back to El Salvador, I felt afraid as a women there more than in any other country in Latin America. This is how the author, Catalina Lobo Guerrero, begins her article. We can already tell she is not a fan of El Salvador, and after reading what she had to say about it, it is understandable. Women in El Salvador are considered a problem. They are raped and killed, but somehow they are the issue. El Salvador is listed among the world s deadliest countries for women. She talks to a specialist, Dr. Mendez who has had to deal with many women who have been raped and left pregnant. Since abortion is illegal in El Salvador it is difficult for Dr. Mendez to turn away the women who were raped. Dr. Mendez stated that she was once threatened with jail time because she wanted to help a woman whose emergency contraception did not work after she was raped. She was told not to get involved or she would be put behind bars. The author tells of another story which involves a 19 year old girl who gave birth outside the hospital. Her baby did not survive so she was convicted of aggravated homicide. The punishment is a 30 year prison sentence. It is sad to think that a doctor trying to help a poor woman who is pregnant, not by choice, will be put behind bars, but not the man who left her that way. There should be a simple solution to the violence against women in El Salvador; if they all flee the country then they will not have to experience any harm. That would be a solution, but packing up and leaving your home is more difficult than it may seem. Sure, they would be away from all the terrifying crimes, but they would no longer see their family and friends. It would be extremely difficult to leave the country where you have spent your whole life. Women who leave are just courageous as those who stay. In the growing world of uncertainty, the fundamentalist movement sprung up out of a necessity for the defense of faith. Fundamentalists originated from the fear of the unknown and speculation of what could be. Perhaps one of the greatest ties between early fundamentalism and Union University stem from fundamentalism s roots. At the beginning Northern Baptists and Presbyterians battled with Southern conservative Baptists. In 1919, fundamentalists gathered to discuss what to do with the rise of modernity in congregations and the danger of evolution in schools. • 23. Socratic Method In Law School Law students and Lawyers are trained to be insensitive for a number of reasons. For starters the environment the law student, or lawyer, experiences either in law school or in their ideal practice, warrants competition. With competition comes aggression and hostility. In an environment like that, insensitivity is second nature. At that point, insensitivity becomes an innate ability that you will carry with you throughout the rest of your law school experience and so forth. The latter is rooted in the idea of the Socratic method, the I ask a question, you answer, and I attack the validity of your entire response ordeal, which most schools have adopted into their institutions. The latter is displayed in the movie by Kingsfield as he addressed his class in the beginning and told them that he would be using the Socratic method throughout the course of the semester. By using this method, it improves the reaction time, the analytic response, and improves the targeted party s critical thinking ability regarding hypotheticals. Not only that, it prepares the law student, and lawyer, mentally and emotionally for the adversarial process. According to The Princeton Review (2017), in a best case scenario, the Socratic method successfully derails a properly prepared student by challenging their initial premises in the hopes of adverting the targeted individual s attention to the bigger picture (The Princeton Review, 2017). Effect Of Ascorbic Acid On Vitamin B2 Chemical stability examination of vitamins B6 (Pyridoxine), vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and vitamin B2 (riboflavin) for neonatal use in parental nutrition Background Vitamins are parental nutrition (PN) constituents used to provide daily requirements and supply deficiencies in neonates. The vitamin loss in the parental nutrition bad is commonly caused by chemical degradation. The reduction thiamine and oxidation of vitamin C are the frequent reactions of chemical degradation. The vitamin C is most unstable vitamin added to parental nutrition. It is highly oxidized. Its oxidation is influenced by high temperatures and the catalysis by the oligo elements like copper. Its first degradation route is reversible and has biological activities while the remaining degradation routes are irreversible and lack biological activities. The degradation of vitamin C depends on the availability of oxygen in the medium (packaging material used). Various amino acids also affect the vitamin C stability due to its copper ions chelating and this reduces its potential which further decreases residual oxygen effect. The vitamin C end product (oxalic acid formation) possesses a toxic potential and quickly interacts with free available calcium ions thereby initiating calcium oxalate precipitation. Thiamine degradation is caused by reduction as result of the presence of sodium metabisulfite which is an antioxidant applied in the crystallization of amino acids solution. Vitamin B2 is most ... That applies to your scenario. To get you started, check with the client on the commodities that will be stored inside the portable moving containers. Typically, household items have a range of commodity classifications from Class I through expanded Group A plastics in the form of foam cushions or mattresses. Since the commodities may vary, the worse case scenario of expanded Group A plastics may be a starting point. The container storage would not qualify as rack storage and would match closer to solid pile storage arrangement. • 39. The Benefits Of Air Pollution To survive, the human body is constantly taking in oxygen. But the oxygen inhaled today is some of the filthiest, most polluted air ever, and it is only getting worse with society s negligence. What is the price of clean, unpolluted fresh air? The average cost of an air purifier ranges from $80 for the cheaper, albeit less effective, models to $400 for higher quality air purification. Not to mention the added repair and maintenance costs of anywhere between $20 to $200 for cleaning, replacement filters, et cetera. To clarify, the cost of breathing easy can add up very quickly, but the cost is not just financially it is physically too. Air pollution does not come in the form of a giant, flying two headed dragon and does not typically manifest on the body like a ghastly goiter. Air pollution is invisible to the human eye. To see it, special equipment from NASA or other research facilities would be required. But just because it is not visible, does not mean it is not present, air pollution is everywhere and sometimes more dense and deadly in some places than others. This poisonous air is caused by motor vehicles, planes, ships, energy plants, and much more, things quite necessary for society to function. The solution to dirty air cannot be so drastic as to ban automobiles or energy plants, and it would not happen overnight. However, society can take several meaningful, if small, steps to reduce air pollution to the point where it can decrease the number of stroke, asthma, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Marcel Duchamp ( 1887-1968 ) Marcel Duchamp (1887 1968) was a French artist, known for his contributions to the Dada movement and for his influence on other artists that followed him. He was born in Blainville sur Crevon, a small town in northern France where his father served as a notary. His mother was artistically inclined and thus Duchamp became interested in sketching and painting when he was a teenager. At the age of seventeen, he moved to Paris to study art at the Académie Julian. As a young artist, he was influenced by Cubism and Futurism, the two new art movements that were developing at the time. The Cubist artists reduced objects (or people) to basic shapes and tried to show different sides of images at once. The Futurists wanted to find ways to depict ... During the period of World War I (1914 1918), Duchamp became associated with a group of Parisian artists known as the Dadaists. Dada was an art movement that was characterized by a spirit of anarchic nihilism. The Dadaists were reacting to the madness of the European culture that had found itself engaged in a bloody, devastating war. In the words of Tomkins, dada s organized insanity was a direct response to the nightmare of unending, meaningless slaughter in the trenches. Another writer, Sarane Alexandrian, describes Dada as a detonation of anger which showed itself in insults and buffoonery. The Dadaists also attacked the traditional values of art. As claimed by Hans Richter in his book on the Dada movement, these attacks were meant to mock the pretensions of European culture and the traditional obsession of artists, art critics and art lovers with all that is holy. Dada is often referred to as anti art and the Dada movement is often called an anti movement. As noted by Alexandrian, the Dadaists seemed to be interested in rejecting everything that existed in art and culture at the time. • 44. Character Differences In A Monster Calls A Monster Calls Both the novel A Monster Calls and the movie directed by J.A. Bayona were successful in their aim to make viewers and readers touch base with their emotions. However, the movie was time boxed for under two hours and a few key points leading to the climax were unintentionally passed. Even though the book and the film portrayed the monster, the father, all the tales as well as the mother s death in extremely similar perspectives, they showed differences in their interpretation of the mother, Conor, the grandmother, Harry, the bullying and the nightmare. Looking at the amount of character differences, one can infer that there was a plot twist which led to the recreation of many individuals. The similarities between the novel and the movie in terms of characters were found in the personalities of the monster and the father. The monster had his wise and witty charm as he told all the tales with his hidden messages which could be converted into Conor s life, such as the story of the evil queen telling Conor that things are not always as they seem. He also had a sense of humor when he briefly visited Conor, making wise observations and putting a funny spin on them. The father was also much alike as he provided emotional support throughout the story and was a fun yet a serious parent. Both of these characters were identically represented since changing them would alter the stories base. There was an ample amount of character differences ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1973 the Mexican government changed their foreign investment law to allow non Mexican nationals to buy real estate anywhere in Mexico except the Restricted Zone (which is located within 31 miles from the coastline and 62 miles from its borders). In 1993 the law was amended to allow foreigners to buy real property in the Restricted Zone by using a Fideicomiso which is a trust agreement established with a Mexican bank. Credit scores can also have an impact like they do here in the United States. Paying all cash upfront is simple, easy, and the norm in the past but financing is becoming more available. Seller financing is very popular and works basically the same as it does here in the United States. But there is also another type of seller financing called: Reserve of Domain. It is typically used if the buyer has all the money to purchase the property, but it is tied up in assets and isn t liquefiable at the time of sale. One example would be if the foreign buyer has the money in an IRA and is only permitted to withdraw a small portion without being penalized. The Reserve of Domain is easier and cheaper to set up than an ordinary mortgage. The buyer pays the seller most of the sales price for the property. Then the buyer and the seller enter an agreement regarding the payment of the remainder of the sales price. The deed is then put in Reserve by a Notario Publico. When the buyer pays the seller the balance along with the interest that was agreed upon, the seller contacts the Notario Publico and signs off that he s been paid. The Notario Publico then goes to the Public Registry of Property and lifts the Reserve from the deed. • 46. Two Main Types Of Therapeutic Cloning Argumentative Writing Rough Draft There are two main types of cloning that are known about, therapeutic cloning and reproductive cloning. Therapeutic cloning is when you take a small sample of DNA and insert into an embryo to make the embryo to have healthy parts. The parts are accepted by our body because they are from your DNA. Therapeutic cloning does not happen naturally in nature and it is asexual. Reproductive cloning is another type of cloning and unlike therapeutic cloning is sometimes occurs in nature. An example of natural reproductive cloning is meiosis and plants. This is asexual as well since it is an exact replica of DNA from one sample. Cloning may have many benefits but it has downsides. Reproductive cloning is when you get an offspring asexually that has a copy of your DNA and has the same features as you. Some may argue that a clone would not know it is a clone until it is told. This logic according to others also are the same for people who segregate clones. Clones can not be identified unless you are told they are a clone, however if a person looks identical to their parents and has the same behavior patterns it is most likely a clone. It does not take a scientist to figure that out. Even if clones were integrated into society and they are not segregated they could become criminals or possibly have a genetic mutation. If regular humans can resort to crime so can a clone. Clones being segregated is a large possibility however, if someone s DNA was cloned the clone belongs to that person according to http://io9.gizmodo.com/. People like to take ownership. • 48. The War On Israeli Occupation War is generally considered a to be a heinous act, a harbinger of death, destruction and disaster. War is often fought for ignorant reasons such as wealth and property, although defence and fighting for the greater good is often exhibited through history. Its facile to claim that war is unjustifiable under personal or political reasons, or that it s a waste of human life and that passive resistance is the key. Nevertheless, in opposition, there are particular circumstances in which war is justifiable. Examples of this are: Under international bodies of law (Geneva and Haug conventions), the principals of the just war theory which is in stark contrast to 2 other approaches on the concept of war, being Pacifism and Realism , as well as Islamic reasoning on the conduct, darurah (necessity) and justifications of initiating or continuing conflict as well as theoretical and historical understandings of what it means for a war to be just. An ongoing example being the war on Israeli occupation by the Palestinians, another example being the British interference in the Second World War against the belligerent Nazi regime. Although, in retrospect, the Second World War is also used in pacifist ideologies, against war justification.
