Analysis Of The Book The Dreams From My Father
The book centers on the life of Barack Hussein Obama II s life until his enrollment to the Harvard
Law School. There is not much Washington setting throughout the book; therefore, the focus would be
the parallels between his life before his presidency as told in this memoir and his life as the most
powerful man in Washington, DC. In this paper, the focus will be on Obama and his father, African
American history, his way to success, and finally, his experience in Washington.
First published in 1995, the Dreams from my Father reveals a great portrayal of the head of the US
government as a person before achieving his status and power. Today, across the globe, the name
Barack Obama would be recognizable the man who stirred the status quo of the Presidency and
making a mark as the first African American US President. Anyone who visits Washington, DC would
hope to encounter Obama. Although the book was written before his term as a President, it clearly
depicts his character as a leader.
What is notable about the book is Obama s vulnerable side. The powerful President has also struggled
in life. Someone who feared of not belonging. Someone who lost a loved one. Someone who learned
from his mistakes. During his visit in Kenya, for the first time in [his] life, [he] found [himself]
thinking deeply about money: my own lack of it, the pursuit of it, the crude but undeniable peace it
could buy (329). Yet, what is more remarkable is observing how Obama thought about understanding

My Ethical Dilemma Of A Loan Officer Should Offer A Family...
To begin, my ethical dilemma deals with the notion of whether a loan officer should offer a
family/individual a mortgage for a home or not even though they are on the borderline criteria and
possibility of default based on known circumstances such as low income or even a credit score that is
a few points lower than the required score to obtain a loan. This whole idea correlates to the mortgage
crisis of 2007 when the growth of housing prices stalled and demand slowed. As a result, lenders
accepted loans when they knew that a high degree of risk and insolvency was probable. Eventually,
banks became bankrupt and the government established stimulus programs aimed at reducing the
problem. Unfortunately, this did more harm than anything as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For an employee to be aware in this situation, a good concept to note would be how other loans
similar to the one they are offering have performed in the past. The officer could analyze each one and
determine the right path they might have chosen based on the criteria. As a result, they have more
knowledge of what may and what may not happen. The officers have to be morally aware of the
consequences even though they want to help these people out and provide them with a possible good
future. Another way the employees can be morally aware in this position is to know the client from top
to bottom. This means that they should have extensive knowledge about the client primarily in terms
of finances, but other attributes as well such as their character. For instance, if they have had a loan in
the past, have they paid the loan back or not along with say what their income is. Correspondingly, the
loan officer needs to be mindful of the financial stability of the bank along with current government
regulations. For the bank to help the employees, they could give out monthly reports on the bank s
finances. However though, the officers in most banks are recommended to stay up to date on
government regulations, but a word document/pdf of all the regulations would be a

Positive Behavioral Support System Essay
Module 1 Analysis:
Readiness Evaluation for Implementing a Positive Behavioral Support System
Jon P. Wilson
American College of Education
Abstract
Using the results of the Scale of Effective School Discipline and Safety (SEDS) Questionnaire given
to Lacy Elementary School participants, an analysis of the readiness of their teachers to implement a
Positive Behavioral Support System (PBSS) will be examined. The SEDS questionnaire consists of 58
items, which are organized into five areas of attention by scale: Scale 1: Teachers Effective Classroom
Management Skills (24 items), Scale 2: Teachers Positive Behavioral Interactions and Respect (11
items), Scale 3: Holding Students Accountable for Their Behavior: Administration and Staff (7 items),
Scale 4: Teachers Contribution to a Positive School Climate (9 items), and Scale 5: School Safety and

The data was placed in a Summary Table (see Table 1) in order to provide a visualization of the
findings, as well as a brief examination of each scale individually. It is important to know that the data
collection, preparation, implementation, maintaining and sustaining a PBSS is a process that should be
done over the course of a few years. Identifying generic goals, objectives, evidence based
components, evidence and outcomes... (Knoff, p. 35) is the initial process, but then presenting the plan
to move forward with a PBSS would need to be introduced to faculty and staff, in hopes to achieve
large support (generally an 80% buy in of all practitioners of the model) to move forward. Once this is
achieved, a team is formed to start PBSS related data collection that should take place over the course
of at least three years (Knoff, p. 35), and is then carefully examined by the team to reach the next steps
of the implementing a complete, built for success

Ariana Grande s Dangerous Woman
The boldest statement off Ariana Grande s Dangerous Woman comes not from Ariri, but from Nicki
Minaj: I m the queen of rap, young Ariana run pop . While Nicki s status as the head woman of
modern rap is pretty solid, it does tell a lot about Ariana Grande s ambitions for her third album. Many
ex teen pop idols tried to break their image through shock tactics in the past (see; Britney Spears,
Christina Aguilera and Miley Cyrus). Meanwhile, Ariana s evolution has been more subtle since
leaving the Nickelodeon powerhouse. 2014 s My Everything made a point to make her look like a
serious, grown up artist and if Dangerous Woman is her attempt at becoming a sex symbol, it is done
in a very classy way.
Ariana s lyrics do touch on some slightly risqué ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sometimes recalls Stargate circa 2007 with its acoustic guitar loop mixed with hip hop beats. Trap
elements aside, Let Me Love You could pass as a Destiny s Child b side. Most of those suits seem to
fit well on Ariana, though with 15 tracks, many of these experiments end up pretty forgettable. It s
hard to find songs in here that have the same instant appeal as Problem or Break Free, if it s not for
Into You. Produced by top 40 hero Max Martin, Into You leaves aside the horns and trades them for a
full bucket of synths and electronic rhythms. It also features a Mariah Carey reference in the chorus (
A little less conversation/A little more touch my body ); the kind of self conscious wink pop music
offers too rarely. The result is far better than the slightly awkward attempts of Bad Decisions or the
over opulent Greedy and its corny key change. Other songs like Be Alright feel like it s trying to be a
banger but ends up a little empty. It s a shame, because on an album that often seems to be playing it a
bit safe, these more audacious attempts could ve greatly improve the overall quality of it.
At the end of the day, Dangerous Woman might not have what it takes to make Ariana the Queen of
pop once and for all. But tracks like Into You, Everyday or Leave Me Lonely makes it seem like she
might have what it takes to stay in the long run. If she keeps releasing great songs like this one at a
regular pace, she will have enough munitions to become a mainstay of pop music for years to come,
even if she can t keep the pace on an entire

Customer Service Process Of Customer Loyalty And Their...
Customer service is the process of interacting with the customers and the companies to understand the
customers demands and queries. The customer service is there for each top restaurant who wants to
provide a better dining experience to their customers and to get feedbacks from them (Huemer and
Setzer, 2011). The customer service helps the company or the restaurants to understand the needs and
demands of its customers. By doing that, the company can retain their customers who become loyal to
the restaurant after certain period of being served and thus, the restaurant wins the heart of its
customers. The main objective in carrying out this research is to determine the importance of customer
service process in the acquisition of customer loyalty and their retention to the restaurants in UK by
taking the special reference of top two restaurants where one is Berners Tavern and another is New
London Café.
1.1 Background of the Research
From various studies, it has been found that the restaurants are able to win the heart of their customers
through good quality and tasty food meals and by giving proper services, which will fulfil their
wishes. Therefore, a restaurant should look after the demands and needs of its consumers and based on
that should prepare its plan for future in introducing new items in their menu and services (Padua,
2012). Different groups and organizations already have carried out many researches but researches
about this particular topic are much less

several myths have arisen regarding the Provincetown Players founding, leaving the group s

as follows: the plays were first thought of as a profoundly therapeutic party game for a small, close nit

Cook and his wife Susan Glaspell, entitled Suppressed Desires. Overnight, the performances became
the talk of Provincetown s artist colony and repeat performances were demanded by many who missed
the first one and the demand was satisfied. As the summer progressed, two more plays were developed
by the vacationing artists, and their stage moved to a fish house turned makeshift theatre owned by
Player members Joe and Mary O Brien. It is this construction that came to be the company s first
theatre, known as the Lewis Wharf, where the vivacious life of the Provincetown Players began. With
the sea as the backdrop, many of the Player s performances were set, purposefully, at the sea. The
following year, the group met once more at the old Wharf now with a greater sense of direction and
organization fueled by the response their productions generated the year prior. Now newly renovated
(with the installation of electricity) and cleaned, the Wharf was ready to set the stage for the Players
first bill of three plays which sold out at 50 cents per ticket in no time. This proved a huge success and
led to a series of plays throughout the entire summer, all now performed at the Wharf Theatre. The
Players also caught the eyes of the media, and received rave reviews in the Chicago Post and the
Boston Globe (Pictured above). It is interesting to note

Beauty Is An Integral Part Of Human Nature
The concept of beauty is an integral part of human nature. For centuries men and women have
designated a part of each day dedicating their time to their physical appearance. In many cultures
beauty is made a priority of life. This is reflective of the expectations the media places on men and
women to have a certain look. What most do not realize is beauty is not just defined by the aesthetic
pleasure of faces, hair, bodies, and clothes, it is driven by many other factors. The concept of beauty
does not have to be tied down to the strict definition of what is visually attractive, and should rather
focus on many different aspects of the person as a whole to create a definition of their beauty. There
are many factors that contribute to what makes something or in the case of this research, someone
beautiful . The explanation for the perception of beauty in one s self and in others is due in part to a
biological, a psychological, and a cultural basis working hand in hand to create what humans believe
to be beauty. Perception of beauty is manipulated greatly by the biological evolutionary influences on
human nature. All of this stems from the deeply rooted evolutionary need to reproduce. In particular,
facial beauty of a female or a male is important because the one weapon men and women have to
fulfill the ultimate goal of preserving their genes in another generation is attraction. One must be
perceived as beautiful first before any sexual attraction can occur (Wilson, 2013).

Greek Myth Of The Eighty-Eight Constellations
Out of the eighty eight officially recognized constellations, my favorite would be Gemini, The Twins.
This constellation happens to be my favorite because not only is it my Zodiac sign, but I also find the
Greek legend to be intriguing. The name Gemini means The Twins in Latin, the two twins being
Castor and Pollux. Also, as mentioned before, Gemini is one of the twelve Zodiac signs. This sign was
cataloged by the Greek Muggle Astronomer Ptolemy in the 2nd century. Furthermore, Gemini is the
30th largest constellation and lies in the 2nd quadrant of the northern hemisphere. The legend of the
constellation Gemini is a Greek myth. Luckily, Gemini mythology is pretty straightforward, while the
origins of some other myths and legends are debated

The difference in size will have an impact on expense, revenue, and income. Every company plans to
get the most out of every dollar spent. Consequently, we will be comparing the their financial
performance from 2007 2009. From the beginning, Walgreens has yielded a better gross profit by an
average of 8% over CVS/Pharmacy. Gross profit is the amount left over after cost of goods sold is
taken from revenue. Although, both have been steady with their percentage gross profit,
CVS/Pharmacy 21% amp; Walgreens 28%, Walgreens has gained more. However, Walgreens
celebration is short lived because the balance statement is more than gross profit. In fact the 8% edge
in gross profit they gave back in operating expenses. Walgreens operating expenses took, on average,
22.5% away from their total revenue. CVS/Pharmacy operating expenses took only 14.5% away from
their total revenue. Moreover, other indicators of return on investment to the company are higher for
CVS/Pharmacy than Walgreens. CVS/Pharmacy has had a higher operating income than Walgreens
since 2007. For the last two years CVS/Pharmacy has posted higher income before taxes than
Walgreens. Finally, the biggest trend difference between the two firms is that CVS/Pharmacy s net
income has increased three years in a row, while Walgreens net income has steadily decreased three
years in a row. As a company, CVS/Pharmacy received a 20% gross profit margin.

Trade Introductuion
Hong Kong, the pearl of Asia has been the center of trade and finance in Asia since the early 20th
century. In a short history of about 150 years, Hong Kong has become the source of growth for many
nearby economies. In a certain sense, it can be even said that it is a merchant city founded and
managed by businessmen. Traditional hongs or trade houses of Hong Kong were the pillars of the
economy. Jardine Matheson and Hutchison were major hongs that led the economy and the Hong

Chinese to own a traditional hong. Li s drive and business ability helped foster Hutchision into a

Standardized Testing Has Made A Huge Impact Not Only On...
Standardized testing has made a huge impact not only on our educational system, it has also had a
negative impact on certain groups of students. One of the groups of students that have been affected
by standardized testing the most are English Language Learners (ELL). ELL s are expected to take
and pass a test that they are not able to read and understand. It is not fair to make students take a test
in a language that they are still learning and will not be able to comprehend. Although there are
modified tests for ELL s to take hardly any of them can qualify for it. They are left taking a test they
are not able to understand. Different accommodations should be made to help the ELL s who do not
qualify for the modified test, but are also not qualified to take the regular test. The No Child Left
Behind Act (NCLB) was implemented in an effort to help students learn and meet their full potential
academically. The NCLB was put into place by the government to have more of an input in the
standards that schools must meet. The Common Core initiative was implemented to make schools in
every state equal and have the same curriculum. Texas is one of the states that has decided not to
adhere to the Common Core initiative. Texas s standards are based on Texas Essential Knowledge and

Is Jason Still Relevant Today
Myths of the heroes speak most eloquently of man s quest to choose life over death (Dorothy
Norman). Just like this quote reads, the myth of Jason gives choices that bring out the best and worst
in his character. Some of his decisions also determine the fate of others. Jason is a Greek mythological
hero that is give a quest to attain the Golden Fleece in order to rule his father s land. Through his
difficult encounters on his journey, he eventually retrieves the Fleece, but things do not go as well as
he hoped. The possible origin of the myth is common with many other myths during the time period.

Many of the key points, however, have remained the same. Apollonius story was so popularly enjoyed
that it really has not changed greatly. The myth has only changed to adapt to the modern times
(Lieberman). As from the detailed summary before, there were crucial parts of the myth that are
necessary in order for the myth to flow easily. There have been a few adaptations of the myth
throughout the years. More recently, in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, a couple book and movie
adaptations have been created. In 1867, The Life and Death of Jason written by British writer William
Morris has many of the key aspects of the myth in his book. There are only a small number of
differences in the two. One difference is the reason for Heracles disappearance. Morris most likely
kept the same details as the myth, but added some of his personal touch to it to appeal to his readers
(Lieberman). Another adaptation of the myth is the first movie adaptation called Jason and the
Argonauts, made in 1963. The same relative story is found in the movie, but some details were
changed. In the movie, Jason meets Pelias by saving him in the river as he was drowning. In the
process, Jason loses a sandal. After saving Pelias, not realizing who he was, Jason told him about his
desire to rule Iolcus. Pelias tells him to retrieve the Golden Fleece and he would have the power to

The sociopolitics portion Monaco mentions, deals with in the film two police officer partners who
become more than coworkers they become brothers in a sense. Director Ayer does a great job when it
comes to the way the film is integrated with human experience in general. To start, the police officers
Brian Taylor (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Mike Zavala (Michael Pena) are set out on duty in a tough
neighborhood. It s often mentioned how black neighborhoods are always the toughest neighborhoods
and have high crime rates. We can see in the film how the human experience comes into play; first
scene starts with a call to an African Americans house where the officers are set into a fist fight right
off the back. Although the movies is not just based off African American s, it also deals with Mexican
Americans and their drug cartel. If we were to base off the human experience in general than this
movie would have a negative effect on the human population. I m sure director Ayer is aware of the
characters chosen and understands the significance of the film. The psychopolitics portion of Monaco
s explanation in his text deals with our own personal experience and specific details. For my personal
experience this movie was an eye opener, director Ayer and his work of art he created with this film
was astonishing. Me being a criminal justice major, I got a sense of what life on duty was like and

Helen Landsdowne Resor And The Woman s Copy Department
Helen Landsdowne Resor and the Woman s Copy Department decided to use and upgrade the

her picture to run, concerned that it would diminish her prestige and reputation. Other testimonials
featured women such as Alice Roosevelt Longworth and Mary McConnell Borah, daughters and

women not only because they were beautiful, but because they had accomplished something of
significance to women. The campaign had been created to impart an image of status and prestige to
skin cream, and the advertisers increasingly used this tactic (Peiss, 1998). Even women who identified
themselves as feminists found themselves caught in contradictory impulses. They recognized the
variations in women s experiences in modern society and celebrated women s achievements. In these
ads they maintained that beautifying and achievement do not need to be mutually exclusive: caring for
appearance could be seen as an aspect of women s self expression and dignity. Even with a
background in feminism and reform, many women found themselves actively reinforcing
conventional notions of gender difference (Peiss, 1998). The

Similarities Between Beauty And The Beast And Shrek
As children most of the fairy tales we were told about always involved a beautiful princess, a prince
charming and a happily ever after . Among those are Snow White and Cinderella, who are both
mistreated by their evil stepmothers, go through difficulties but at the end they find happiness. Almost
all these fairy tales emphasize the beauty of the female and male protagonists. They also mostly end in
the princess falling in love with the prince, often after the first kiss. For many of us in the real world,
this would be the ideal way to fall in love with someone and quite a dream come true. However, there
s one fairy tale that gives a different message on what true love is. In the story Beauty and the Beast
and the movie Shrek, Beauty and Shrek fall in love with people who are their complete opposites, not
by the way they look but the way they are. The ending to both stories bring surprises as they both find
out that they re not so different after all. The transformation of Princess Fiona into an ogress and the
Beast into a human is not necessary to show a happy ending. In Beauty and the Beast, Beauty is noble

What Are The Factors To Reduce The Possibility Of Type 1...
Lejuez et al., (2002) decided to reduce the possibility of Type 1 error by deciding beforehand (a priori)
to only look at the adjusted number of pumps as the measurement for riskiness, yet they found that the
number of explosions and unadjusted number of pumps produces similar results (p.79). A few
interesting results were found in this first BART experiment. The first is that, correlations indicated
that the adjusted number of pumps was not related to age or IQ for any of the balloon colors ( ps .05) (
Lejuez et al., 2002). They found no gender difference except for the blue balloons where it shows men
being slightly more risky, (table 1). That is, the adjusted average number of pumps on the blue balloon

They state that the first limitation is the sample that was taken from people at the higher end of
riskiness due the prompt they used in the paper that asked are you a risk taker? They state the second
limitation is that the people that answered the recruitment add where mostly white (75%) and well
educated. The third limitation that was reported that our assessment of actual risk behaviors was less
comprehensive, often relying on only a single measure or even on a single item (e.g., number of
unprotected sexual encounters) (lejuez, et al., 2002, p. 82). The fourth reported limitation is that
people were behaving cautiously on the task. Finally the BART only showed association with self
reported real world risk behaviors from the blue balloons. Therefore, the restricted range of the yellow
and orange balloons did not find the same relationship. Although there were some limitations to this
study, overall, it showed the BART it a useful tool in measuring risk taking behavior in the lab. The
BART was not designed to replace the existing self report measures; it is designed to tap into actual
risk taking behavior that can be observed in the lab. Risk taking behavior is only one facet of the issue
of developing an addiction. There are biological and environmental factors that impact outcomes.
Impulsivity is associated with risk taking behavior because both behaviors are associated with
maladaptive behaviors

Interpreting Kristy Coleman s Family Life
Imagine you re a dog for the day sleeping in the warm sunlight. This is what Kristy Coleman would
like to be if she could be anyone for the day. While interviewing Kristy i discovered intresting things
about her family life, school activities and her hobbies. The topic Kristy and I spoke of first was her
family life. I had learned that she is 16 years old born November 11 1999 in Greensburg. She has lived
in youngwood now for the past four years, she has 2 brothers Chris and Steve, and a sister Kayla. She
also has a Black lab puppy rock and a cat named Reese.

Epistolary Novels and Mimetic Devices
CHAPTER FIVE: Epistolary Novels And Mimetic Devices
We have seen how the use of mimetic devices contributed to Still Alice and Turn of Mind. In Chapter
FIVE I explore the possibility of using Facebook, (a twenty first century mode of communication), as
a mimetic device to augment conventional prose fiction. In this chapter I want to show how mimetic
devices such as letters, bank statements and reports have already been used in epistolary fiction so that
I can consider their use as models for my own work.
I touch briefly on the history of the use of mimetic devices in the epistolary novel and go on to discuss
how mimetic devices in So Much For That , House Mother Normal and Flowers for Algernon allow us
to hear different voices and create texture. In SMFT chapters are headed with a bank statement
showing how illness drains people s savings. In HMN, each character is preceded by a clinical report
which includes their cognitive ability. FFA uses a diary or progris report to tell the story. I discuss how
these mimetic devices contribute to the story.
In the 18th century, letter writing took on great importance as a new mode of communication.
(Studying the Novel 2001) In Pamela by Richardson, letters between Pamela and her family are used
to tell the story of Pamela s resistance to seduction by her employer. The reader is puzzled by the
sudden cessation of Pamela s family s replies to her letters, only to find that this is because Pamela s

Medical Ethical Controversy On Abortion
Medical Ethical Controversy
A recent medical ethical controversy that resurfaces every few years is the debate of abortion. The Roe
v. Wade US Supreme Court decision in 1973 made a significant change to abortion laws, giving
women the choice to terminate pregnancy without requiring eminent health risks to the mother. (n.d.,
2015) The ethical debate of abortion continues even with the practice being legal.
The 2016 GOP elections are placing the debate of abortion back in the limelight. (Milligan, 2015)
Some groups of individuals have strong beliefs about abortion being ethically wrong and should not
be allowed as an option. As with any ethical dilemma there are strong believers on each side of the
situation. Pro life versus Pro choice is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The new regulations are aimed at the donation of the tissues from aborted fetuses. The release of
Planned Parenthood videos discussing this practice has brought much exposure to this practice. The
sale of tissue from an aborted fetus is illegal, unless the patient consents to donating the tissue.
(Ura/Walters, 2015)
Medical professionals that choose to work within the abortion industry are met with much controversy
and at times danger to their well being. The 1991 murder of Dr. David Gunn started several years of
murders, assaults and bombings against abortion clinics and employees. The irony of these individuals
committing murder to protest a woman s right to obtain an abortion, is blatantly obvious. The fact that
medical professionals have to fear for their safety because they are providing a legal service to
patients is ridiculous.
Whether a person would choose to obtain an abortion for themselves, does not provide them for the
right to make a decision about what another individual would choose to do. Personally I am a Pro
choice supporter and support any woman who deems that an abortion is the right decision based on
her individual circumstances. The ethical dilemma of abortion will not be disappearing anytime soon,
because of the strong emotions of

This also applies during their Mongol raids, he declared that looting will only be done after the raid is
complete and that all loot is distributed evenly. His battle tactics were superior compared to most of
the foes that he has encountered during his time which led to many successful raids. One of the key
advantages that his army had compared to others were the horses since they were armored and agile as
well. During combat the Mongols could use the horses as a shield because they re armored and they
can also shoot at the enemies with their ranged weapons such as a bow as well. The Mongol horses
only required grass as sustenance and the horses produced mare s milk as well. The Mongols aimed to
kill everyone that was in the opposing tribes except for the children and women since they can be used
to continue building their tribe. The women could help with the growth of the population and the
children can grow up to become warriors or help around their tribes. He aimed to unify the tribes that
he raids and calls them Mongols. Additionally, Genghis Khan believed that if he let any enemy in the
opposing tribe escape, they will eventually rebuild, so he believed to completely destroy the opposing
tribes, which eliminates the possibility of the enemy retaliating in the future. This tactic worked well

exactly like Survival, but when players die the world resets and the player has to start over. Survival,

players will not starve. In Easy difficulty, mobs will spawn and when a player starves, he or she will

The Advancement Of Time In Our Town By Thornton Wilder
Humans are powerless to fight the advancement of time, realizing too late that they wasted time doing
one thing while they were losing another. The play Our Town is told in three acts, explaining the years
going by, and how the advance of time effects many characters. I agree that no one truly appreciates
something until it is already gone, similar to how Wilder ponders about the advancement of time.
Thornton Wilder expresses many ways of time taking its toll on many of the characters in the play.
Wilder shows in his play that time moves with or without you and the characters in Our Town got a
taste of the time keeper s medicine. In the third act of Our Town, Simon Stimson, Mrs. Soames Mrs.
Gibbs and Emily are all dead. Act three takes place at the cemetery where George, Dr. Gibbs, Mr. and
Mrs. Webb are all there mourning the death of Emily. Dr. Gibbs brings his deceased wife
flowers.Leaving George with their 4 year old son, Emily joins the dead in the cemetery. George comes
to visit Emily s grave and falls to his knees in despair, filled with pain and sorrow his wife died during
childbirth. Emily is an example of how an average person can marry and die before understanding the
meaning of life. Getting married and having children at a young age, wasting time on one unimportant
thing when something important is being pushed aside.
When Emily first entered the cemetery, she was hesitant. Soon after talking to Mama Gibbs, Mrs.

Council Of Chalcedon Essay
However, a diverse group ranging from the monks at Constantinople to Egyptian bishops loyal to
Dioscorus opposed the definition. They considered themselves as Pro Nicene and anti Nestorian, but
they worried that the council was being heretic . Ultimately, the Chalcedonian definition stated that
after the incarnation, Christ was in two natures without mixture, change, division or separation .
Furthermore, part of the disagreement between the Eastern and Western Church was because the
definition stated that Christ is acknowledged in two natures, which come together into one person and
one hypostasis. The critics (some Eastern churches) understood this to side with western Christology,
they felt that it diverged from the teachings of Cyril of Alexandria who said that Christ has one nature.
The church of Alexandria felt that the definition should have stated that Christ is to be acknowledged
as out of two natures and not in two natures . However, some scholars argue that the language of two
natures also derives from Cyril . Ultimately, the assertion of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the case of Nestorianism, if the incarnation was a case of a male son of Mary being indwelt by the
divine son of God, then Jesus Christ is not different from a Christian because Christians believe that
they are indwelt by the son. If that was the case, then the incarnation did not take place. This would
make the doctrine of atonement null and void because it would suggest that Christians were saved by a
human being leading to whether human suffering can atone for sins. In the case of Eutychianism, if
Christ s humanity was swallowed up in his divinity, then the incarnation (God becoming man) did not
really take place, but it seems to be more a case of man extinguished and lost in God, thereby also
making the incarnation null and

Academic Preparation, Cognitive Performance, And Social...
The IEP team should focus on academic preparation, cognitive performance, and social skills
performance when the transition begins. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 04)

Firstly, they should consider academic preparation and performance. Students with intellectual
disabilities often lag behind in class activities and development of academic skills. Delays are evident
in language skills, math, and reading comprehension (Friend, 2014, Pg. 240). Such challenges in math
and reading often transfer to other courses such as science, which require these skills.
Cognitive performance is also a necessary area upon which the IEP team should focus. Students with

Teachers and parents expect them to adapt to the general education or special education setting for
students without intellectual disabilities. Students with intellectual disabilities require a different
curriculum because they need to learn some survival skills before their transition into adulthood.
Many lessons offered in the general curriculum are not important for such students with intellectual
disabilities, especially because there are other important skills that they need to acquire such as life
skills and behavior development (Friend, 2014, Pg. 259).
Students with intellectual disabilities face the dilemma of high stakes testing. Some students with
intellectual disabilities are expected to complete such tests although the tests are beyond their
capabilities (Friend, 2014, Pg. 259). The expectations set by professionals are too high as students
with intellectual disabilities are expected to learn from the same curriculum as those without
disabilities. In some institutions, they are seen as the cause of school failure to attain federally
mandated goals of sufficient yearly progress. Even though learning the core curriculum is essential for
students with intellectual disabilities, there are several disadvantages of setting the standards too high.

from childhood to adulthood. There is a difficulty of understanding the concept of self determination

Canadian Food Research Paper
4 Canadian food Last Friday, my friend and I were taken to the cafeteria by Mr. Brian and ate famous
Canadian food, poutine, for the first time. Poutine is popular fast food in Canada, and it includes deep
fried potato with gravy and cheese curds. The appearance is not good, but the taste is excellent. I was
surprised to eat my first taste and I want to know Canadian food more. Basically, Canadian food is
mostly a mixture. A former prime minister in Canada, Joe Clark said, Canada has a cuisine of cuisines.
Not a stew pot, but a smorgasbord . It means that Canadian food is influenced by various immigrants
and all in all, the roots are First Nation, the UK, and France. This is some examples of famous
Canadian food, Pemmican from First Nation, Nanaimo bar from Vancouver, poutine from France, and
pancakes and maple syrup from the UK and New England.

restaurant in Warwick, Quebec in 1957. The owner is the first one to have served poutine as we know

lobster.
All in all, Canadian food was originated from other countries and have been developed in Canada. It is
commonly said that Canada is a melting pot of cuisines. As one of the reasons for the fact, Canadian
food connects with multiculturalism. As people migrated to Canada during the war, some traditional
food like poutine and pancakes were brought to Canada in the past. As the result, multiculturalism in
Canada was promoted and now food around the world are creating a culture of Canada while
intermingling. Therefore, as multiculturalism is progressed, Canadian food will vary in the

Pituitary Surgery Perioperative Steroid Management in Patients with a Normal Hypothalamic Pituitary
Axis INTRODUCTION Surgery on the pituitary gland and around the sellar region is of special
interest to the neurosurgeon. The approach to the gland has evolved over the past 50 years and so has
the role of steroids in the perioperative management of these patients. Being one of the organs that
play a key role in the hormonal balance of an individual, the neurosurgeon should be particularly
careful that all steps must be taken to optimise the hormonal status and also ensure there is no
disruption in that balance postoperatively. For more than half a decade the meticulous administration
of steroid perioperatively has become common place. Today, however, the old philosophies are being
challenged and new philosophies pioneered creating a paradigm shift in the way we manage patient
requiring an operation around the sellar region, in particular pituitary surgery. CASE A 47 year old

The Rise of Illegal Drug Trade in Our Dangerous Economy
Ever since drugs became illegal to be purchased in the early century the whole illegal drug trade
started to rise and many individuals especially youth started to join this dangerous and illegal
economy. Youths were ambitious and were attracted to this inner city business just to get money in a
faster way. That is because drug selling and other illegal activities appeared to be the most effective
way to get rich in a faster way. Also many of these youth would rather earn money in a dangerous way
than working for someone racially superior. Many of these youngsters joined these underground jobs
because of their low economic status they were trapped in. Another reason why these teenagers joined
this dangerous economic is because of the autonomy they would get in this job. The fact that they can
self govern themselves is essential to them because is something they weren t able to find in an entry
level job (Bourgois, Pg. 9 10). They also gained respect from the surroundings they would usually
socialize with. Practically most of the youths that had joined the underground jobs have had negative
experiences in the minimum wage labor market from their racist bosses or supervisors (Bourgois, Pg.
7). One of the things the underground economy offers that the inner city doesn t is the fast short term
success. Many young people were looking for the capacity of growing to a higher social or economic

Functions Of Mitosis And Meiosis
Topic Cells
(A.C. 3.1)
Mitosis and meiosis are both forms of the nucleus in eukaryotic cells and share some similarities, but
also exhibit distinct differences that lead to very different outcomes (UK essays 2013; widmaier et al,
2014; Toole, 2015; Khan, 2016). Mitosis is a cell division that produces two daughter cells receiving a
copy of every chromosome with the same genetic component as the parent cell, while meiosis is a cell
division that produces haploid sex cells or gametes which contain a single copy of each chromosome
(widmaier et al, 2014; Diffen, 2016; Toole 2016; Encyclopaedia Britannica). The purpose of mitosis is
cell regeneration, growth, and asexual reproduction, while the purpose of meiosis is the production of
gametes for sexual reproduction (UK essays 2013; Vancouver community college, 2011). Mitosis

Benefits Of Police Body Cameras
The need for police officers to be equipped with body cameras while on duty is crucial in rebuilding
community relations and increasing police accountability. As such, there are various benefits and
consequences in the implementation of this proposed policy for all police departments. While benefits
include lowering rates of police misconduct, increased accountability and transparency, improved
officer training, providing effective evidence for trials and reduction of civilian complaints, there are
consequences such as the upfront cost of police cameras, legal and privacy concerns and reliability of

Recording from police cameras could aid as a tool in officer training, as it could be used to observe
where and how officers could correct their behavior. Captured footage from the cameras could be
integrated in the police academy training programs, along with courses on sensitive topics such as
racial bias and sexism, to provide new officers with a foundation that exposes them to real incidents
that have happened in the field. Officers will be able to learn what encounters with members of the
community should and should not look like (Harvard Law Review, 2015). Police body cameras will
allow police departments to tailor their trainings and equip their officers with the knowledge they need
so that officers themselves can better regulate their own behavior as well.
Providing Evidence for Trials. Footage captured from police body cameras can be used as evidence in
cases and trials, providing objective information relating to whether law enforcement officers and their

The Dark Knight Rises By Frank Miller And Superman
INTRODUCTION This paper involves discovering how the morality of Batman and Superman has, or
has not, changed throughout the happenings in The Dark Knight Returns compared to their previous
depictions. The goal of this paper is to show that the morality of Batman and Superman have altered
due to the extension of their personalities. The paper is claiming that Batman and Superman act as
extensions of their formerly depicted selves by overindulging in their personal beliefs and ideologies
as each of them struggle to with their morality by trying to do the right thing in a world gone wrong.
This claim was created by examining and analyzing the primary text of The Dark Knight Rises by
Frank Miller and by using various credible online sources and interpretations of the graphic novel.
Upon examination of the sources used, morality plays a key role in the character development of two
main characters of Batman and Superman. Through showing that the extension of personality has an
impact on the perception of a character, this paper and research highlight the differences and
similarities of Batman and Superman in terms of morality and character development.
BACKGROUND
The Dark Knight Returns is a graphic novel by Frank Miller that focuses on the fictional superhero
Batman, who is also known as Bruce Wayne. The story takes place ten years after an aging Batman

  • 2. Analysis Of The Book The Dreams From My Father The book centers on the life of Barack Hussein Obama II s life until his enrollment to the Harvard Law School. There is not much Washington setting throughout the book; therefore, the focus would be the parallels between his life before his presidency as told in this memoir and his life as the most powerful man in Washington, DC. In this paper, the focus will be on Obama and his father, African American history, his way to success, and finally, his experience in Washington. First published in 1995, the Dreams from my Father reveals a great portrayal of the head of the US government as a person before achieving his status and power. Today, across the globe, the name Barack Obama would be recognizable the man who stirred the status quo of the Presidency and making a mark as the first African American US President. Anyone who visits Washington, DC would hope to encounter Obama. Although the book was written before his term as a President, it clearly depicts his character as a leader. What is notable about the book is Obama s vulnerable side. The powerful President has also struggled in life. Someone who feared of not belonging. Someone who lost a loved one. Someone who learned from his mistakes. During his visit in Kenya, for the first time in [his] life, [he] found [himself] thinking deeply about money: my own lack of it, the pursuit of it, the crude but undeniable peace it could buy (329). Yet, what is more remarkable is observing how Obama thought about understanding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. My Ethical Dilemma Of A Loan Officer Should Offer A Family... To begin, my ethical dilemma deals with the notion of whether a loan officer should offer a family/individual a mortgage for a home or not even though they are on the borderline criteria and possibility of default based on known circumstances such as low income or even a credit score that is a few points lower than the required score to obtain a loan. This whole idea correlates to the mortgage crisis of 2007 when the growth of housing prices stalled and demand slowed. As a result, lenders accepted loans when they knew that a high degree of risk and insolvency was probable. Eventually, banks became bankrupt and the government established stimulus programs aimed at reducing the problem. Unfortunately, this did more harm than anything as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For an employee to be aware in this situation, a good concept to note would be how other loans similar to the one they are offering have performed in the past. The officer could analyze each one and determine the right path they might have chosen based on the criteria. As a result, they have more knowledge of what may and what may not happen. The officers have to be morally aware of the consequences even though they want to help these people out and provide them with a possible good future. Another way the employees can be morally aware in this position is to know the client from top to bottom. This means that they should have extensive knowledge about the client primarily in terms of finances, but other attributes as well such as their character. For instance, if they have had a loan in the past, have they paid the loan back or not along with say what their income is. Correspondingly, the loan officer needs to be mindful of the financial stability of the bank along with current government regulations. For the bank to help the employees, they could give out monthly reports on the bank s finances. However though, the officers in most banks are recommended to stay up to date on government regulations, but a word document/pdf of all the regulations would be a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Identifying generic goals, objectives, evidence based components, evidence and outcomes... (Knoff, p. 35) is the initial process, but then presenting the plan to move forward with a PBSS would need to be introduced to faculty and staff, in hopes to achieve large support (generally an 80% buy in of all practitioners of the model) to move forward. Once this is achieved, a team is formed to start PBSS related data collection that should take place over the course of at least three years (Knoff, p. 35), and is then carefully examined by the team to reach the next steps of the implementing a complete, built for success ... • 6. Ariana Grande s Dangerous Woman The boldest statement off Ariana Grande s Dangerous Woman comes not from Ariri, but from Nicki Minaj: I m the queen of rap, young Ariana run pop . While Nicki s status as the head woman of modern rap is pretty solid, it does tell a lot about Ariana Grande s ambitions for her third album. Many ex teen pop idols tried to break their image through shock tactics in the past (see; Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Miley Cyrus). Meanwhile, Ariana s evolution has been more subtle since leaving the Nickelodeon powerhouse. 2014 s My Everything made a point to make her look like a serious, grown up artist and if Dangerous Woman is her attempt at becoming a sex symbol, it is done in a very classy way. Ariana s lyrics do touch on some slightly risqué ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sometimes recalls Stargate circa 2007 with its acoustic guitar loop mixed with hip hop beats. Trap elements aside, Let Me Love You could pass as a Destiny s Child b side. Most of those suits seem to fit well on Ariana, though with 15 tracks, many of these experiments end up pretty forgettable. It s hard to find songs in here that have the same instant appeal as Problem or Break Free, if it s not for Into You. Produced by top 40 hero Max Martin, Into You leaves aside the horns and trades them for a full bucket of synths and electronic rhythms. It also features a Mariah Carey reference in the chorus ( A little less conversation/A little more touch my body ); the kind of self conscious wink pop music offers too rarely. The result is far better than the slightly awkward attempts of Bad Decisions or the over opulent Greedy and its corny key change. Other songs like Be Alright feel like it s trying to be a banger but ends up a little empty. It s a shame, because on an album that often seems to be playing it a bit safe, these more audacious attempts could ve greatly improve the overall quality of it. At the end of the day, Dangerous Woman might not have what it takes to make Ariana the Queen of pop once and for all. But tracks like Into You, Everyday or Leave Me Lonely makes it seem like she might have what it takes to stay in the long run. If she keeps releasing great songs like this one at a regular pace, she will have enough munitions to become a mainstay of pop music for years to come, even if she can t keep the pace on an entire ... • 7. Customer Service Process Of Customer Loyalty And Their... Customer service is the process of interacting with the customers and the companies to understand the customers demands and queries. The customer service is there for each top restaurant who wants to provide a better dining experience to their customers and to get feedbacks from them (Huemer and Setzer, 2011). The customer service helps the company or the restaurants to understand the needs and demands of its customers. By doing that, the company can retain their customers who become loyal to the restaurant after certain period of being served and thus, the restaurant wins the heart of its customers. The main objective in carrying out this research is to determine the importance of customer service process in the acquisition of customer loyalty and their retention to the restaurants in UK by taking the special reference of top two restaurants where one is Berners Tavern and another is New London Café. 1.1 Background of the Research From various studies, it has been found that the restaurants are able to win the heart of their customers through good quality and tasty food meals and by giving proper services, which will fulfil their wishes. (Sarlós) Due to lack of congruent evidence or remains from those summer months, several myths have arisen regarding the Provincetown Players founding, leaving the group s beginnings fairly open to interpretation. The only three factors in the groups birth beyond dispute are as follows: the plays were first thought of as a profoundly therapeutic party game for a small, close nit group; the idea no sooner emerged than it materialized in the form of scripts; Jig Cook was spiritus rector before it all began. These were performed casually on the verandah of the rented cottage, among these was one written by Cook and his wife Susan Glaspell, entitled Suppressed Desires. Overnight, the performances became the talk of Provincetown s artist colony and repeat performances were demanded by many who missed the first one and the demand was satisfied. As the summer progressed, two more plays were developed by the vacationing artists, and their stage moved to a fish house turned makeshift theatre owned by Player members Joe and Mary O Brien. It is this construction that came to be the company s first theatre, known as the Lewis Wharf, where the vivacious life of the Provincetown Players began. With the sea as the backdrop, many of the Player s performances were set, purposefully, at the sea. The following year, the group met once more at the old Wharf now with a greater sense of direction and organization fueled by the response their productions generated the year prior. Now newly renovated (with the installation of electricity) and cleaned, the Wharf was ready to set the stage for the Players first bill of three plays which sold out at 50 cents per ticket in no time. This proved a huge success and led to a series of plays throughout the entire summer, all now performed at the Wharf Theatre. The Players also caught the eyes of the media, and received rave reviews in the Chicago Post and the Boston Globe (Pictured above). It is interesting to note ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Beauty Is An Integral Part Of Human Nature The concept of beauty is an integral part of human nature. For centuries men and women have designated a part of each day dedicating their time to their physical appearance. In many cultures beauty is made a priority of life. This is reflective of the expectations the media places on men and women to have a certain look. What most do not realize is beauty is not just defined by the aesthetic pleasure of faces, hair, bodies, and clothes, it is driven by many other factors. The concept of beauty does not have to be tied down to the strict definition of what is visually attractive, and should rather focus on many different aspects of the person as a whole to create a definition of their beauty. There are many factors that contribute to what makes something or in the case of this research, someone beautiful . The explanation for the perception of beauty in one s self and in others is due in part to a biological, a psychological, and a cultural basis working hand in hand to create what humans believe to be beauty. Perception of beauty is manipulated greatly by the biological evolutionary influences on human nature. All of this stems from the deeply rooted evolutionary need to reproduce. In particular, facial beauty of a female or a male is important because the one weapon men and women have to fulfill the ultimate goal of preserving their genes in another generation is attraction. One must be perceived as beautiful first before any sexual attraction can occur (Wilson, 2013). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This constellation happens to be my favorite because not only is it my Zodiac sign, but I also find the Greek legend to be intriguing. The name Gemini means The Twins in Latin, the two twins being Castor and Pollux. Also, as mentioned before, Gemini is one of the twelve Zodiac signs. This sign was cataloged by the Greek Muggle Astronomer Ptolemy in the 2nd century. Furthermore, Gemini is the 30th largest constellation and lies in the 2nd quadrant of the northern hemisphere. In a short history of about 150 years, Hong Kong has become the source of growth for many nearby economies. In a certain sense, it can be even said that it is a merchant city founded and managed by businessmen. Traditional hongs or trade houses of Hong Kong were the pillars of the economy. Jardine Matheson and Hutchison were major hongs that led the economy and the Hong Kong Shanghi Bank were the financier of these hongs and has today grown to become one of the largest bank in the world. • 13. Standardized Testing Has Made A Huge Impact Not Only On... Standardized testing has made a huge impact not only on our educational system, it has also had a negative impact on certain groups of students. One of the groups of students that have been affected by standardized testing the most are English Language Learners (ELL). ELL s are expected to take and pass a test that they are not able to read and understand. It is not fair to make students take a test in a language that they are still learning and will not be able to comprehend. Although there are modified tests for ELL s to take hardly any of them can qualify for it. They are left taking a test they are not able to understand. Different accommodations should be made to help the ELL s who do not qualify for the modified test, but are also not qualified to take the regular test. The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) was implemented in an effort to help students learn and meet their full potential academically. The NCLB was put into place by the government to have more of an input in the standards that schools must meet. The Common Core initiative was implemented to make schools in every state equal and have the same curriculum. Texas is one of the states that has decided not to adhere to the Common Core initiative. • 14. Is Jason Still Relevant Today Myths of the heroes speak most eloquently of man s quest to choose life over death (Dorothy Norman). Just like this quote reads, the myth of Jason gives choices that bring out the best and worst in his character. Some of his decisions also determine the fate of others. Jason is a Greek mythological hero that is give a quest to attain the Golden Fleece in order to rule his father s land. Through his difficult encounters on his journey, he eventually retrieves the Fleece, but things do not go as well as he hoped. Apollonius story was so popularly enjoyed that it really has not changed greatly. The myth has only changed to adapt to the modern times (Lieberman). As from the detailed summary before, there were crucial parts of the myth that are necessary in order for the myth to flow easily. There have been a few adaptations of the myth throughout the years. More recently, in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, a couple book and movie adaptations have been created. In 1867, The Life and Death of Jason written by British writer William Morris has many of the key aspects of the myth in his book. There are only a small number of differences in the two. One difference is the reason for Heracles disappearance. Morris most likely kept the same details as the myth, but added some of his personal touch to it to appeal to his readers (Lieberman). Another adaptation of the myth is the first movie adaptation called Jason and the Argonauts, made in 1963. The same relative story is found in the movie, but some details were changed. In the movie, Jason meets Pelias by saving him in the river as he was drowning. In the process, Jason loses a sandal. After saving Pelias, not realizing who he was, Jason told him about his desire to rule Iolcus. Pelias tells him to retrieve the Golden Fleece and he would have the power to overthrow Pelias. It s often mentioned how black neighborhoods are always the toughest neighborhoods and have high crime rates. We can see in the film how the human experience comes into play; first scene starts with a call to an African Americans house where the officers are set into a fist fight right off the back. Even women who identified themselves as feminists found themselves caught in contradictory impulses. They recognized the variations in women s experiences in modern society and celebrated women s achievements. In these ads they maintained that beautifying and achievement do not need to be mutually exclusive: caring for appearance could be seen as an aspect of women s self expression and dignity. Among those are Snow White and Cinderella, who are both mistreated by their evil stepmothers, go through difficulties but at the end they find happiness. Almost all these fairy tales emphasize the beauty of the female and male protagonists. They also mostly end in the princess falling in love with the prince, often after the first kiss. For many of us in the real world, this would be the ideal way to fall in love with someone and quite a dream come true. However, there s one fairy tale that gives a different message on what true love is. In the story Beauty and the Beast and the movie Shrek, Beauty and Shrek fall in love with people who are their complete opposites, not by the way they look but the way they are. The ending to both stories bring surprises as they both find out that they re not so different after all. The transformation of Princess Fiona into an ogress and the Beast into a human is not necessary to show a happy ending. In Beauty and the Beast, Beauty is noble and sweet. She is forced to live with a beast in his castle. At first she s scared but as the day passes, she begins to enjoy his company. She visits her father and one night, she dreams that the Beast is dying. She runs back to the castle and pleads for him not to die. As she hugs him, she agrees to marry him, something he had asked her long before but she had refused. As she mutters these words and to her surprise, the Beast transforms into a handsome prince. Shrek is a green ogre who enjoys solitude and keeping to himself. He doesn t have any friends and lives in a swamp. A few interesting results were found in this first BART experiment. The first is that, correlations indicated that the adjusted number of pumps was not related to age or IQ for any of the balloon colors ( ps .05) ( Lejuez et al., 2002). The third limitation that was reported that our assessment of actual risk behaviors was less comprehensive, often relying on only a single measure or even on a single item (e.g., number of unprotected sexual encounters) (lejuez, et al., 2002, p. 82). The fourth reported limitation is that people were behaving cautiously on the task. Finally the BART only showed association with self reported real world risk behaviors from the blue balloons. Therefore, the restricted range of the yellow and orange balloons did not find the same relationship. Although there were some limitations to this study, overall, it showed the BART it a useful tool in measuring risk taking behavior in the lab. The BART was not designed to replace the existing self report measures; it is designed to tap into actual risk taking behavior that can be observed in the lab. In Chapter FIVE I explore the possibility of using Facebook, (a twenty first century mode of communication), as a mimetic device to augment conventional prose fiction. In this chapter I want to show how mimetic devices such as letters, bank statements and reports have already been used in epistolary fiction so that I can consider their use as models for my own work. I touch briefly on the history of the use of mimetic devices in the epistolary novel and go on to discuss how mimetic devices in So Much For That , House Mother Normal and Flowers for Algernon allow us to hear different voices and create texture. In SMFT chapters are headed with a bank statement showing how illness drains people s savings. In HMN, each character is preceded by a clinical report which includes their cognitive ability. Furthermore, part of the disagreement between the Eastern and Western Church was because the definition stated that Christ is acknowledged in two natures, which come together into one person and one hypostasis. The critics (some Eastern churches) understood this to side with western Christology, they felt that it diverged from the teachings of Cyril of Alexandria who said that Christ has one nature.
