Cellular Prion Protein Analysis
The cellular prion protein (PrPC) is a host coded glycoprotein attached to the
surface of the cell membrane by a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor. PrPC
binds copper with high affinity and is highly expressed on the surface of neuronal
and glial cells (Prusiner, 1998; Sales et al., 1998). Although PrPC presumably plays a
role in the neuropathology and transmissibility of priondiseases by undergoing a
conformational change into an abnormal protease resistant isoform (PrPSc)
(Caughey and Chesebro, 2001; White et al., 2003), the normal physiologic role of
PrPC is still uncertain. It has been reported that PrPC plays a diverse role in normal
cellular functions including cell survival (Bounhar et al., 2001), neuritogenesis

Abraham Lincoln Assassination Research Paper
Abraham Lincolns Assassination
Abraham Lincoln was conceived in a log lodge in Hardin County, Kentucky to
Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks Lincoln. Thomas was a solid and decided
pioneer who found a moderate level of thriving and was very much regarded in the
group. The couple had two other youngsters: Abraham s more seasoned sister Sarah
and more youthful sibling Thomas, who passed on in earliest stages. Because of an
area debate, the Lincolns were compelled to move from Kentucky to Perry County,
Indiana in 1817, where the family hunched down on open area to scrap out a living in
an unrefined sanctuary, chasing diversion and cultivating a little plot. Thomas was in
the end ready to purchase the area.

Developing A Credit Scoring Model
INTRODUCTION
The dataset used for the project is the German credit dataset that consists of
customers financial and credit information and the resulting classification of
customers as good or bad credit risks. This is a well known publicly available dataset
containing observations on 20 variables of 1000 past applicants of which 700 are
classified as good credit risk and 300 are classified as bad credit risk.
This report lists the detailed steps involved in developing a credit scoring model that
can be used to determine if a new applicant is a good credit risk or a bad one, based
on their predictor variables.
Tools Used:
SAS Enterprise Miner 4.3
IBM SPSS Statistics 22
Modeling Techniques Used:

DATA PREPARATION AND EXPLORATION
The modeling process incorporated in this project is based on the Enterprise Miner
SEMMA methodology which stands for Sampling, Exploring, Modifying, Modeling,
and Assessing data. The goal of this project is to develop a credit score model that
can be used as a prediction model for any prospective customers. Hence, the next step
was to prepare the collected data.
The German credit score dataset was provided in a comma separated values (.csv)
format. When the dataset was opened through MS Excel, the values of the variables
were displayed as numbers without any logical understanding of what they meant. A
screen shot of the data viewed through Excel is provided in Figure 1.

The Outsiders Movie And Book Comparison
Outsiders Movie/Book Comparison Have you ever read the book The Outsiders ?
Have you ever seen the movie? Both these are good stories and there are many
many similarities. In fact the movie is praised for how much it is like the book.
Although there are many similarities, there are differences as well. What are these
differences? Let s find out First up is the similarities. The first similarity is that all
the characters are exactly the same in the book and the movie. Darry is still older
than Pony and works all the time, Soda is still the middleman in a war between
Darry and Ponyboy, Pony is still the youngest and hates Dally most of the time,
Dallas is still a punk, etc. The next similarity is that all major plot points are still
Economic and Social Impacts of the Olympics
Every two years, millions of people around the world turn on their TV sets and
watch the greatest athletes in the world compete for the greatest achievement any
athlete can reach... The bronze, silver, and gold medals of the summer and winter

favorite athlete s jersey. They plan parties for their favorite events and make
memories with every game. With all the hustle and bustle, people don t stop to think
about how the Olympics affect the town, city, state, and even world around it. How
does it benefit? What does it cause? What does it leave behind? Who does it impact?

something similar, We didn t really have a policy for what would happen to the

Deviant Behavior In The United States
Deviance Deviant behavior is an integral part of all healthy societies. Deviance
also offers society members an opportunity to rededicate themselves to their social
controls. Deviant behavior actually helps teach society s rules by providing
illustrations of violation. Deviance might be functional to a group in that it causes
the group s members to close ranks, prompts the group to organize to limit future
deviance acts, helps clarify for the group what it really does believe in, and teaches
normal behavior by providing examples of rule violation. Finally, in some situations,
tolerance of deviant behavior acts to a safety valve and actually prevents more
serious instances of nonconformity. One example of how certain acts in the United
States are considered deviant by other cultures is for example, an American audience
might clap and whistle enthusiastically to show its appreciation for an excellent
artistic or athletic performance, but the same whistling in Europe would be a display

Essay on Cattle Dogs
Cattle Dogs
The cattle industry in the past as well as today would be nothing without the help
of man s best friend. Herding dogs are the best known working dogs. These unique
dogs have an instinct to herd and with the right training will help a farmer or
rancher move his herd without any trouble, as long as the dog is responsive to the
ranchers hand signals and whistles. The best way to train a dog is to have it work
along side an already experienced dog. They are keen, alert, responsive, and
extremely intelligent. Numerous dogs have evolved into just show dogs or pets, but
there are a few that are still used on farms and ranches.

The Bearded Collie can herd with little or no direction which is extremely valuable
in moving cattle and the Border Collie is a natural herder who uses the direct stare
tactic to control the livestock. The Collie is currently used on ranches in Scotland,
England, Wales, Australia, and New Zealand where they are In charge of flocks and
herds that graze hundreds of miles from the ranch.
The German Shepard is noted in the Bible as the guardian of the flock. This dog
doesn t herd as much anymore, but it does herd flocks in France, Italy, and
Germany. It existed in Germany as far back as 7th century AD and this dog is
constantly on guard. Sometimes the dog is too much on guard and will attack
ferociously. The German Shepard is working all the time and will assimilate and
retain training. They are the protector of the herd or flock.
The next dog is a small stocky dog but has an awesome technique in getting cattle
to move. The Welsh Corgi will run behind the herd nipping at the cattle s heels
while listening to the rancher s soft whistles. In order to avoid getting kicked this
dog will duck close to the ground. This dog is also a tireless worker. These dogs were
once used to drive the cattle to market.
The Komondor is native to ten cattle countries in Hungary. These dogs are used as
more of a protector than a herder. The Belgian Tervuren and the Belgian Sheepdog
are all used to herd sheep

Architeuthis dux, better known as the giant squid has been around for years. During
that time, scientists studied the predator and photographed the giant creature that
lived in the deep waters of the ocean. Yet, there is an even larger predator. The
Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni: The Colossal squid is longest creature of the deep. It
weighs over 1000 pounds, and has shorter tentacles ( Meet 71) Purely by accident, a
colossal squidmeasuring 14 feet was netted by a fisherman in 2007. Many years
prior to this, a squid measuring 15 meters....and stretched like rubber bands [so] the
actual size might have been smaller (McConvey 50) was given to Rev. Moses
Harvey in 1873. Never the less, because of this captured species, scientists were able
to examine the creature and in the process of studying the squid they hoped to
understand how the species survives in it s habitat and depths of the oceans it lives in.

Female Sterilization Essay
Sterilization was a racialized procedure because the procedure targeted minorities,
more specifically women of color. Female sterilization is an irreversible and
controversial form of fertility control that most often involves the surgical cutting or
tubal ligation of a woman s fallopian tubes (Ruiz Korrol, 2006). Sterilizationwas
important for the eugenicsmovement and sterilization of females helped eugenics
move forward. Eugenics was intended to stop individuals deemed unfit from
reproducing in hopes of keeping the human population pure. Eugenics, like birth
control was a program for making working class families healthy, for improving the
condition of the country and it stood in contrast to the racialism of tropical medicine

A study done by Novak et al. displayed that a disproportionate number of Latinos
were sterilized between the years 1920 to 1945. The rates of sterilization after 1945
did not decrease but remained just as high. The primary victims of sterilization were
women of color and sterilization procedures took place in abundance in the United
States as well as Puerto Rico. In this essay, I will examine women of colors
experiences of forced sterilization in the U.S and Puerto and see how the experiences

In Puerto Rico: A People Challenging Colonialism, it was said that more than 35
percent of Puerto Rican women of child bearing age had been sterilized. This

predominantly Puerto Rican neighborhoods. Population growth in Puerto Rico was
a concern for U.S government since 1930 and in 1937 the Puerto Rico Legislature
passed a bill that legalized sterilization. Until the mid 1960 s, sterilization was seen
as the only way to limit Puerto Rican family size. Given the islands overpopulation
problem, it seemed as if sterilization was the only option for Puerto
Life That Inspired My Left Foot

The book I was required to read for my English class was called My Left Foot by
Christy Brown. The setting takes place in Dublin, Ireland in 1932. Christy Brown
was born into a poor, working class Irish family in Dublin, Ireland 1932. A victim of
cerebral palsy, he could neither control his speech nor his movements, apart from
his left foot. For the first ten years of his life he was falsely believed to be
intellectually disabled. Christy Brown was born in Ireland in 1932, after a
difficult birth and with a serious disability that the doctors of the time were unable
to name. They urged his parents not to place their trust in him, as he was, they
believed, an imbecile After he was born, his parents then had five other children,
all healthy. Christy s mother, however, refused to systemize him, keeping him at
home and treating him with tender care. It would not be until years later that she
would learn that Christy s affliction was severe cerebral palsy. At the age of 5, he
wrote his first letter , A , on a chalkboard using his left foot. His left foot proved to
the family he was not an imbecile but a human being able to think and express his
thoughts. His mother was resolute to teaching her son the basics of

A regular savings account requires you to put money into it each month. In return
from lending some money to the bank for that month they will add interest into your
account based upon how much money you have in your account, the high amount
you have the higher interest you will receive. A money market deposit account is a
type of savings account. This savings account has a slightly higher interest rate each
month. But the downside of owning one of these saving accounts is that you have to
put in a higher amount of money each month. So if you have more money to deposit
it is better than a regular savings account. An online only savings account is a savings

Gas Turbine Essay
Gas turbines compete with Steam (Nuclear and Fossil Fuel) power plants to
generate power around the globe. Historically gas turbines have suffered from low
levels of efficiency and poor reliability, resulting in a reliance on the above
mentioned alternatives to supply the consumer demand for electricity. Initial
assumptions and original efficiency values will be based on the ideal Brayton Cycle,
by replacing an open cycle Fig.1 with a closed cycle Fig. 2 (Huang Gramoll, n.d.)
This report will identify and discuss the improvements made to the modern day Gas
turbine (when compared against the simple Brayton Cycle Fig. 3), which show the
significant progress made in terms of efficiency.
In order to make gas turbines cost effective there is a need to improve overall cycle
efficiency. Gas turbines fundamentally operate by utilisation of a compressor and
turbine to drive a common shaft. The rotating shaft can then be connected to a
generator to provide electricity, a propeller for ships or the turbine can be utilised to
provide propulsion of aircraft. However this report will focus on the gas turbine
within the power generation industry and will look at modifications and
improvements in design which can increase overall efficiency and cost effectiveness.
In short the improvements made to the gas turbine are as follows: Changes to the
cycle temperatures Increasing the efficiency of turbo machinery components
Modifications to the basic cycle Cycle Temperature
Samuel Barber Piano
Noted to be one of Samuel Barber s most popular piano works, acclaimed pianist
Vladimir Horowitz called Sonata for Piano, op. 26 the first truly great native work

and fan of Horowitz, and found compositional inspiration through Horowitz s
playing by implementing wide pallets of color, flexible tempo changes, and huge
sonorities. In addition, Horowitz found Barber to be one of the few American
composers who knows how to write for the piano. Composed during the late 1940 s,
this sonata is very emblematic of some of the many unconventional 20th Century
composing techniques, through the usage of 12 tone technique, unconventional

The dynamic and energetic first movement starts in a different key than it s home
key of E flat minor, and was woven in sonata form. It is known for having many
staggering several key and time signature changes and rhythmic figurations that
mostly consist of dotted 8ths and 16ths, triplets, and groups of 16ths while
contrasting with very mysterious sounding lyrical themes in between. These
alternations are very unpredictable and constantly keep the listener guessing. The
second movement, which is in rondo form, maintains the mysteriousness of the first
movement, but maintains a very playful and mischievous attitude, rather than an
intense and fiery one. It keeps flowing and flowing like water without stopping to
slow down once, all while maneuvering between double and triple meter and skipping
around the range of the keyboard. The third movement s aesthetic is one of heart
wrenching lament through lots of sobbing chromaticism, dissonant shades, and dark,
tempestuous chords. Stylistically, it is the most modern sounding movement of all
and employs the 12 tone technique like the first
Spoon River Anthology Essay
Spoon River Anthology
The Spoon River Anthology, written by Edgar Lee Masters in 1915, was a unique
piece of work in both style and structure. There are over two hundred stories told by
the dead people who once lived in the town of Spoon River. The lives and dreams of
these people are written as poems. The poetry itself is an excellent example of early
modernist style. Since there are many people from many different backgrounds, and
even different generations, (There are examples of Old English spellings and hints of
people being from different decades), there are varied stories and themes present
throughout the Anthology. A lot of the book revolves around the concept of the

Some died happy, but a lot of the poems are bitter.
The ghost of Lucinda Matlock presents one of the overall themes. The woman tells
the story of her hard but full life. Then she expresses her anger toward the living
generations petty woes. She states that Life is too strong for you it takes life to
love life. Lucinda s character is based on Edgar Lee Master s grandmother of the
same name, who is buried in the cemetery that inspired the author. Another thematic
poem is that of Yee Bow. Yee Bow was an Asian man who worshipped Confucius.
The people of Spoon River tried to convert him, but he was faithful. One day,
without warning, the clergyman s son hit and killed Yee Bow. Yee was grief
stricken, knowing that his progeny could not worship him while he lie in Spoon River.

The Ontological Argument By Anselm
I will begin my paper by discussing the two major versions of the ontological
argument by Anselm presented in the proslogion. The first being Possible and
actual existence , and the second being Contingent or Necessary . One should start
off with the first summarized in the standard form as follows: #1 It is a conceptual
truth that God is a being than which none greater can be imagined. #2 God exists as
an idea in the mind. #3 A being that exists as an idea in the mind and in reality is,
other things being equal, greater than a being that exists only as an idea in the mind.
#4 Thus, if God exists only as an idea in the mind, then we can imagine something
that is greater than God. #5 But we cannot imagine something that is greater than...

[Ia] Unfortunately to properly render a complete discussion of the ontological
argument One must begin by defining a few keywords. Definitions for P2 are as
follows. first, conceptual truth: something that can be understood or perceived by
the use of reason or imagination. Second, a being: one s basic nature, or the
qualities thereof; essence or personality[3]. Third, greater: of ability, quality, or
eminence considerably above the normal or average [4]. Forth, imagined: form a
mental image or concept of [4]. Fifth, Idea: a thought or suggestion as to a possible
course of action [4]. Sixth, mind: the element of a person that enables them to be
aware of the world and their experiences, to think, and to feel; the faculty of
consciousness and thought [4]. Definitions for P3 are as follows. Seventh, actual:
existing in fact; typically as contrasted with what was intended, expected, or believed
[4]. Eighth, existence: the fact or state of living or having objective reality. Ninth,
contingent: occurring or existing only if certain other circumstances are the case;
dependent on [4]. Tenth, necessary: present; needed; essential [4]. Due to the nature
of definitions, I will not give an argument for the lack of implied meanings.
[IIa] For P2 axioms #1 and #3 appears that using a loose form of relativism the
argument holds.
For axiom #2 its entirety is an assumption that is to be disproved. Axioms #4 6 are
logical deductions from Axioms #1 through #3. For P3

The Military Revolution
Holub, Martin
HIST; midterm #2
The military revolution was a direct outcome of changes in the virtuosity of war
between 1560 and 1660. The changes crucially influenced campaigning and combat in
Europe during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The most influential alterations
included transformation in weapons, growth in the army size, change in tactics and
organization, and centralization of the states bureaucracies. There were many battles
in the late 17th and early 18th centuries that were highly influenced by the
implications of the military revolution, for example, the Battles of Hogue, Danube,
and Blenheim. These altercations started a development for military superiority and
increased proficiency that enabled Europe to dominate the world long after the Wars
of the Spanish Succession. However, I would like to emphasize that those victories
mentioned above were heavily influenced by the skills of the commanding
individuals and their roles in the military organizational system rather than a full
internalization of the revolution s implications overall. The Duke of Marlborough is
a great example of an individual overweighting the flaws of the late 17th century
logistical systems to his advantage. By comparison, France s failure to understand
and implement the alterations eventually enabled the rise of Britain s at the French
expense. During the 17th century the European powers developed a whole new
array of firepower. The old gunpowder weapons that fired by

assessing financial execution. Financial execution of foundations can be influenced
by the multifaceted nature of overseeing vast measured financial exchanges. The

pattern because of poor administration or because of outer variables. The financial
proportions are readied on the premise of recorded financial proclamations and they
are helpful markers of a company s present financial execution and current financial
circumstance. These financial proportions can be utilised to dissect current patterns
and to contrast the association s financial position with those of others. The effect of

Seatbelts Essay
Coming out of 2016, many citizens in the United States and around the world are
tired of hearing about politics, but when we need consider a situation where a
group of people are not thinking, it is evident politics is the best example to
demonstrate. The purpose of our political system is to introduce new laws into our
society, and to amend current ones to better fit our current system. Politicians,
therefore, have an extremely important job in creating and maintaining these laws.
We as a society need to be careful when we give up our freedoms with certain laws
in order to maintain the social contract. In a society where we give up certain
freedoms, we are expecting the government to use laws to protect us from other

Every citizen is tasked with the responsibility of thinking about the society they live

requirement of seatbelts, but any multi daily task should be commonly thought about,

functionalities of autonomous driving seem like they could do away with common
human driving mistakes that may replace the need for a seatbelt so our questions
regarding these laws should be answered
The Battle Of Yorktown By Comte De Rochambeau
Even though the 13 colonies declared their independence from Great Britain on 4
of July 1776, they actually gained their freedom only after the decisive war, the
Battle of Yorktown (Introduction.) Yorktown was established in 1691 to regulate
trade and collect taxes. Due to its location surrounded by the York River which led
into the Chesapeake Bay, Yorktown would soon develop into a center of
commerce. Not only Yorktown fit for building wharves, storehouses, and docks
which used to export and import goods from Great Britain, but it also suit for
setting up a naval base by taking advantage of its surrounding of the York River and
Chesapeake Bay area (The Role 4.)
In the past, the three groups that involved in the Battle of Yorktown were French,
American and British. In summer of 1780, French allied with American and
provided them a major boost of 5,500 troops which were commanded by Comte de
Rochambeau (History of the Siege.) In May 10, 1781, British General Charles Earl
Cornwallis, known as Lord Cornwallis, decided that he could not control over the
southern colonies until he defeated Virginia. With that in mind, he searched for a
place to set up a naval base which made Yorktown a perfect place in his plan
(Colonial 12.) In the beginning of August 1781, Lord Cornwallis led British forces
from Portsmouth, Virginia to the tobacco port of Yorktown and fortified his position
to prepare for the upcoming war. Knowing Lord Cornwallis move as well as finding

The European, White Male vs. the Other in Heart of Darkness
The novella Heart of Darkness has, since it s publication in 1899, caused much
controversy and invited much criticism. While some have hailed it s author, Joseph
Conrad as producing a work ahead of it s time in it s treatment and criticism of
colonialist practices in the Congo, others, most notably Chinua Achebe, have
criticized it for it s racist and sexist construction of cultural identity. Heart of
Darkness can therefore be described as a text of it s time, as the cultural identity of
the dominant society, that is, the European male is constructed in opposition to the

In the case of the second instance it is somewhat appropriate that the leader s death
is announced by one of the people of the group he is seen to have joined. Therefore
Africans are constructed as being inferior to Europeans through Conrad s refusal to
grant them the power of language and speech and even when they are given the
opportunity to speak, Conrad constructs Africans as being largely inarticulate. Thus
confirming the superiority of the white race.
Conrad further marginalises and degrades the African characters and race not only
through the denial of language but also the denial of human form. When Marlow first
sees Africans in a small boat on the water, he describes them in terms of their muscles
, bones and white teeth , despite also recognizing a vitality and spirit. The
disembodiment continues when Marlow encounters the chain gang at the outer
station. It is when seeking shade however that Marlow stumbles upon the grove of
death. Here he finds emancipated and dying Africans, cast off by their imperialist
owners because they are no longer deemed to have monetary value, or economic
viability. Instead of feeling revulsion s at this, Marlow dehumanizes the Africans,
describing them as bundles of acute angles and noting how they drink on all fours .
Thus by denying the Africans their humanity, Conrad constructs a notion

Provide histograms and CDF of prices. Compare estimated prices to realized prices
using stochastic dominance and mean variance criteria.
a) Stochastic Dominance Criteria
Stochastic dominance is a form of stochastic ordering. It can be used in decision
analysis to refer to situations where one probability distribution can be ranked as
superior to the other probability distribution.
Set the CDF of realized prices be and the CDF of estimated prices be , where P refers
to Price.
In terms of the cumulative distribution function of two assets, one asset is said to be
stochastically dominant over the other if the CDF of one asset is greater than the
other in every state of nature. This is the first order stochastic dominance. First order
stochastic dominance applies to all increasing utility functions.
In this case, if the CDF of estimated prices are always greater than the CDF of
realized prices, we can identify that realized prices dominant estimated prices in first
order.
The chart below shows the CDF of estimated prices and realized prices. Clearly, from
the chart, the first order dominance exists between these two prices and we can infer
a conclusion that realized prices dominant estimated prices in first order. This result
means that there
The Effect of Over Hunting on Blue Whales
The Effect of Over Hunting on Blue Whales
The blue whale is a magnificent creature being the biggest in the world. The blue
whale can eat up to 4 tons of krill in one day, and live up to 90 years old. Blue
whales can make sounds and tones that travel up to 1000 miles away. Blue whales
are so big and take up so many resources that have to live in small groups of one or
two called pods. The Blue whales habitat ranges between Madagascar and Antarctica.
In 1904 there used to be close to 400,000 blue whales living on earth, but now due to
over hunting people have put the human race in danger along with the blue whale
species.
The history of whaling originates all the way back 3000B.C. Whaling is killing
whales for meat and oil. Huge fleets of whalers did not come around until the 1700
s. By the 1930 s 50,000 whales were being killed annually. From 1904 to 1967
360,000 blue whales were killed, that adds up to about 70% of their population.
Whales produce up to 3 off spring at most in one year so the bounce back from a
huge killing would take many years. The International Whaling Commission was
established in 1946, to help fight commercial whaling.
The IWC came around to help fight whaling, but they had little effect. In 1970 the
Convention of International Trade of Endangered species put a ban on all whaling.
Even though there is a ban on whaling Norway, Iceland, Japan and the USSR still

Short, Long And Sentence Length
The issue of sentence length leaves many writers scratching their heads. Short, long,
medium length sentences which are better? Does it make a difference? Why should
we pay attention to sentence length anyway?
For one, it adds as much meaning to a text as the words you choose. Sentence length
conveys a specific mood and rhythm and matches the actions being described. For
example, if you were writing a tense car race, shorter sentences may help heighten the
suspense of the scene. On the other hand, longer sentences may work better when
writing about complex philosophical abstractions.

Wife for a Hat is a book that explains why a patient shows signs of losses, excesses,

The word art is an encompassing one, vastly interpreted and with multiple
definitions. In the case of Picasso s painting Guernica, art informs, educates and
expresses. Its power lies in its ability to capture and compel an audience nearly six

painting that evolved out of the Spanish painter s outrage, one must know its

The closer that R2 is to 1, the better the fit meaning the group of independent
variable could explain better what happens to the dependent variable. R2 may not
be the best estimate at times because if we add another independent variable to the
model the R2 would increase but it does not say necessary the model becomes
better. Therefore some would prefer to look at the adjusted R2 as it would only
increase if the variable used are relevant to the model. Addition of independent
variable to the model would not result in an increase in adjusted R2 if the variables
does not improve the model.
We can then look at the T Statistics to see how individual variable can explain the
dependent variable, by doing a T test comparing it with the Critical value T. By
doing a 10%,5% or 1% test.
We could also look at the model as a whole by looking at the F Statistics and doing a
F test.
With Eviews regression we can simply look at the P Values to see at which level of
confidence we can reject the Hypothesis, From the above 3models, it seems that R2
is highest in model 3, and the adjusted R2 is also the highest in the model which
tells us that the independent variable are better in explaining the dependent variable.
Model 3 is a better regression model. Income per person is a better independent
variable rather than income and population as a variable. Again this goes in line with
economic theory, as income per person increases it would result increase

Psychotherapy s effectiveness is based on the cathartic or abreactive method used,
where the patient releases psychological tension by re experiencing traumatic
events. Although anxiety can be produced by repressed sexual drives, it can also
be produced by many other repressed emotions like anger, jealousy, and fear. When
these repressed emotions try to reach the conscious, anxiety appears from the
unconscious fears related to the traumatic experience. Then, these affects, emotions
associated with ideas or actions, are re repressed by secondary defenses. Using this
idea, Freud described and explained many dynamic processes involved in anxiety
disorders. For instance, displacement would be a secondary defense in phobias,
while reversal and reaction formation would be secondary defenses in obsessive
compulsive disorder (Wolman Stricker, 1994).
However, Freud had to revise his theory after empirical evidence demonstrated that
abreaction of affects only relieve the symptoms temporally. In his second model,
Freud said that anxiety was a signal for the anticipation of danger that produces
defense mechanisms. In a way, anxiety expresses the level of conflict in the
unconscious. For this reason, abreaction represents only a partial treatment because it
does not resolve the cognitive element of anxiety. Anxiety would be permanent
reduced changing the unconscious anticipation of danger. Nevertheless, cognitive
elements of anxiety are not just based on innate needs and

John Ashbery s Influence On Visual Art
The poetry of the New York School artists is exceptionally affected by visual art; the
artists, for example, Frank O Hara, and John Ashbery were influenced basically by
Abstract Expressionism, Surrealism, Cubism, and Dada. The motivation behind why
visual workmanship had such a solid impact on their poetryis that the painters of the
New York School ruled the art world, they set the patterns, and writers and artists
follow them. Additionally, visual craftsmanship played a noteworthy part in the lives
of the artists as a number of them were art reviewers and they frequently worked

in the cost of home upgrades within the population
Colin Sell is a new homebuyer in Beacon Hill neighborhood in Emerald City. He
recently bought his house and wants to upgrade its interior. On May 1st, Colin sent a
letter to my office request for a consultation. After exchange emails with Colin, I
have visited his home on May 5th. In my opinion, Colin can consider upgrading the
window dressing, wall covering and flooring.
Window dressings:
According to Dennis Lori (2010), blinds help to control the amount of light gain or
loss through windows. Lori believes the blinds should only make of renewable,
nontoxic materials. There are four different popular types of blind in the market,
including fabric, plastic, metal and wooden. Fabric blind is the most considerable
product. In specific, fabric shade is durable and sold as a very competitive price. It
is an eco friendly product because fabric is made of fibers from animals or plants.
Besides, one of the most inexpensive products for window dressings is aluminum

The Enuma Elin Creation Theth Of The Enlonian Creation
Myth
The Enuma Elish is the Babylonian Creation Myth. Written on seven stone tablets,
the poem describes the beginning of the universe as a separating of water from
Chaos. Essentially, the universe begins in a chaos of swirling waters until, with time,
the waters separate into Apsu and Tiamat. In response to this myth, the first book of
Genesis was written during the Babylonian Exile. Genesis 1 introduces how God
created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. In addition to this creation
story, there were another one written centuries before and it was written in Genesis
two and three. This story, famously described as The Fall of Man shows how God
created the creatures of the earth and humans that have dominion over them. It...

God created the sky and the waters like Marduk did as he split Tiamat into sky and
land, but it is important to note that God did this out of love and Marduk created
out of vengeance. (Genesis 1:6 7, Enuma Elish IV:134 146). From the third day
forward the order of creation was quite similar. A reader can assume that the order
might infer that the response was not of what order creation, but who the creator is
and why he made creation into existence.
The God in Genesis, through his peaceful speaking into the creation of the world
and humanity, can be seen as humble, peaceful, and is mysterious. In Enuma Elish,
the chaos and violence noted can make the reader infer that the gods are all
powerful and they have to make creation right, but from the spoken mouth of God,
all creation was good. On sixth generation of creation the Enuma Elish explains
that they will make man out of gruesome blood and bones from a casualty of war
the sixth generation of creation the Enuma Elish explains that they will make man
out of gruesome blood and bones from a casualty of war and that they will be
oppressed (Enuma Elish VI:1 10). In the first creation story of Genesis God made
man out of his own image and likeness (Genesis 1:26). In addition, the second
creation story says that God made man out of the dust of the ground with the breath
of God and the woman was made out of the man s rib to resemble a unique bond that
man and woman will eventually become one (Genesis
Golden River Research Paper
A long long time ago, in the very distant past, the Golden River of the Land was
separated from the Blue River of the Sky by a Dragon Gate.
Legend said that swimming through the legendary gate would allow any fish brave
enough to become a magical dragon fish, with wings to fly through the blue river.
In the Golden River lived a little Koi fish who wanted nothing more than to become a
dragon, so he set off on the perilous journey toward the legendary gate.
The other fish tried to warn the little Koi fish to swim with the flow of the river, but
he was determined and swam as hard as his little fins could carry him.
Many obstacles wait for him on his journey.
He used his speed and size to his advantage and escaped the river monster. Swimming
Scoob s Poem
Scoob, I love you. Thanks for being one of my best friends on the planet. You were
there for me with a playful wag when I was upset or stoked. You were there through
adolescent heartbreak, teenage angst, through that divorce, when I got my first
guitar, my first car, first drums, first concerts, my braces, your operations in 2007
that cleared my bank accounts. You were there through car accidents and that short
stint when I thought it was cool to dye my hair orange and blue. Remember my
blue, plaid, punk pants? You were a supporting role in all the home movies we
made and listened to me when I tried to learn to sing and write my first songs. You
listened and never judged me through all the best and worst ideas I had. I could go

Jesus Resurrection
The New Testament is not the only sacred book that gives an account of the
resurrection. The Quran, Islam s holy scripture, tells of the arrest, crucifixion, and
resurrection, but if differs in no small way from the biblical account. In Surah 4:157
8 the Quran sates: And for saying, we killed (the Messiah) Jesus, son of Mary, the
messenger of God.
They never killed him, they never crucified him they were made to think that they
did. All factions are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge;
they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed. Instead, God raised Him to Him;
God is Almighty, most wise. (Authorized English Version).
The events surrounding Jesus resurrection can be difficult to piece together. We must

Second, the writers of the Gospels did not attempt an exhaustive narrative; in other
words, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John had no intention of telling us every detail of
the resurrection or every event in the order that it happened.
In the battle with skeptics regarding Jesus resurrection, Christians are in a no win
situation. If the resurrection accounts harmonize perfectly, skeptics will claim that
the writers of the Gospels conspired together.
If the resurrection accounts have some differences, skeptics will claim that the
Gospels contradict each other and therefore cannot be trusted. It is our contention that
the resurrection accounts can be harmonized and do not contradict each other.
Islam teaches that Jesus never died but was assumed into heaven. There are a couple
of variations explaining the mechanics of this. One version has the soul of Jesus
departing from the body before the torture and execution.
According to the footnote in the Authorized English Version of the Quran quoted
above, his enemies tortured and crucified his living, but empty body. 48 thus, Jesus
was assumed into heaven, but His soul less body was left on earth to be
The Impact Of Technology On Education
On a daily basis, both businesses and individuals rely on technology. It cannot be
denied that technology has become part of our everyday life. As individuals, we all
depend on technology, either for education, health purposes, transportation,
communication, romantic relationships, and/or business growth . It is impossible to
explore how each advancement in technology has impacted our lives as well as how
it will impact the future, but we can briefly explore the major advancements.
Technology impacts the environment, people individually, and the society as a whole.
As we navigate through the 21st century, technology in the classroom is becoming
further predominant. iPads are replacing our textbooks, and we can research any
desired topic on our smartphones. The impact that technology has had on today s
schools has been utterly momentous. Educators have now seen firsthand the
numerous benefits of technology in the classroom. According to a study by IT Trade
Association CompTIA, around 75 percent of educators have come to the conclusion
that technology has a positive impact on the education process. Educators have also
recognized the significance of developing these technological skills in students so
they will be prepared to enter the workforce after they graduate (Cox). By
incorporating technology in the classroom, teachers are setting our students up for a
successful life outside of school. The increase of technology has even changed how
teachers teach along with how

The Second Amendment To The Constitution And The
First...
]The constitution, it is quite possibly the largest piece of the puzzle that makes
America what it is. This document allows the American people to be who they are.
The constitution and its amendments outline the rules that are to be followed by
and the rights that are given to the people and the government. The first
amendment to the constitution is one that never seems to be debated itself, but its
interpretation is often times debated. In saying this I mean that most everyone
agrees that people should have the right to free speech, but what is often debated
is where to draw the line. The question is, what is the difference is between
someone using their right to free speech and them spewing hate speech. The first
amendment is quite possibly the most important to maintaining our form
government. It allows us, the people to have a say and speak on political topics
among other things. The full first amendment, which was officially put into place
alongside the second amendment in 1791, is made up of, for the most part, two
basic points. It touches on religion and preventing freedom of speech or press
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting
the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the
right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a
redress of grievances. The first of these points that touches on religion was first
formed based upon one of the main reasons that
Factory Farming Benefits
Pushing the Boundaries of Science: Industrial Agriculture
What is Industrial Agriculture? Also known as Factory Farming, Industrial
Agriculture is a modern type of agriculture, which involves high inputs of money,
eliminating jobs (as well as creating pollution) by using pesticides in place of heavy
machinery, and a dense population of animals raised on limited land requiring
massive amounts of sustenance. (Sustainabletable.org, Industrial Livestock
Production ) FarmSanctuary.org states that Factory Farms abuse animals and exploit
the environment for profit in order to dominate U.S. food production.
Environmentalists and animal lovers criticize Factory Farms due to the controversy
surrounding the treatment of animals and the potential effects ... Show more content

In chapter five, Victor Frankenstein expresses his horror: I beheld the wretch the
miserable monster whom I had created...His jaws opened, and he muttered some
inarticulate sounds, while a grin wrinkled his cheeks. He might have spoken, but I
did not hear...fearing each sound as if it were to announce the approach of the
demoniacal corpse to which I had so miserably given life. The creature to whom he
has given life now terrifies Victor and makes him regret his decision. This raises the
question: When does science go too far? Like Frankenstein s creation of life, Factory
Farms push the limits of science by attempting to control a set part of nature.
Industrial Agriculture exploits nature for profit which is much like Frankenstein s
desire to create life from dead matter; where the desire to gain is more important than
the consequences. Farm animals are similar to the Creature since they are mistreated
for no reason other than being non human. By detaining animals and making them
suffer for the sole means of food production, Agriculturists become a modern day
History Of Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy
History of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy The term Munchausen Syndrome by
proxy was named in 1951 by Asher after a well known German Baron story teller
(Campbell V, McDougall, Justice G., 2015). Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy was
defined as an acute illness which is supported by dramatic and plausible history by
Asher (Campbell V, McDougall, Justice G., 2015). Asher characterized Munchausen
Syndrome s condition as an intense desire to deceive people as much as they can in
order to be the center of attention (Campbell V, McDougall, Justice G., 2015). Asher
believes that medical reports of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy are usually made of
fantasies and falsehoods and that the most interesting thing about it is that it is
senseless (Campbell V,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bursten then explains that these patients are usually imposters who are defending
against some type of inferiority in order to assume false roles and try avoiding
their true identity (Campbell V, McDougall, Justice G., 2015). What is
Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy? Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy is a mental
illness in which an individual which is usually a parent acts as if an individual that
they are caring for which is usually a child has a mental or physical illness where
the victim is not actually sick (Cleveland Clinic, 2015). The legal definition is that
it is some sort of fabricated illness that is supported by a dramatic history of some
plausibility (Campbell V, McDougall, Justice G., 2015). The perpetrator has the
diagnosis and will lie about the illness that the victim has which is usually a child
less than six years old (Cleveland Clinic, 2015). Although most cases are of
victims six years and younger, there have been many reports of adult victims,
especially elderly folk that are disabled (Cleveland Clinic, 2015). The American
Professional Society declared Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy a form of abuse
(Cleveland Clinic, 2015). People with a factious disorder imposed on another such
as Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy have a need for their victim which is usually
their child to be seen as injured or ill (Cleveland Clinic, 2015). The perpetrator does
not do this

  • 2. Cellular Prion Protein Analysis The cellular prion protein (PrPC) is a host coded glycoprotein attached to the surface of the cell membrane by a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor. PrPC binds copper with high affinity and is highly expressed on the surface of neuronal and glial cells (Prusiner, 1998; Sales et al., 1998). Although PrPC presumably plays a role in the neuropathology and transmissibility of priondiseases by undergoing a conformational change into an abnormal protease resistant isoform (PrPSc) (Caughey and Chesebro, 2001; White et al., 2003), the normal physiologic role of PrPC is still uncertain. It has been reported that PrPC plays a diverse role in normal cellular functions including cell survival (Bounhar et al., 2001), neuritogenesis (Lopes et... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 15. Gas Turbine Essay Gas turbines compete with Steam (Nuclear and Fossil Fuel) power plants to generate power around the globe. Historically gas turbines have suffered from low levels of efficiency and poor reliability, resulting in a reliance on the above mentioned alternatives to supply the consumer demand for electricity. Initial assumptions and original efficiency values will be based on the ideal Brayton Cycle, by replacing an open cycle Fig.1 with a closed cycle Fig. 2 (Huang Gramoll, n.d.) This report will identify and discuss the improvements made to the modern day Gas turbine (when compared against the simple Brayton Cycle Fig. 3), which show the significant progress made in terms of efficiency. In order to make gas turbines cost effective there is a need to improve overall cycle efficiency. Gas turbines fundamentally operate by utilisation of a compressor and turbine to drive a common shaft. The rotating shaft can then be connected to a generator to provide electricity, a propeller for ships or the turbine can be utilised to provide propulsion of aircraft. However this report will focus on the gas turbine within the power generation industry and will look at modifications and improvements in design which can increase overall efficiency and cost effectiveness. In short the improvements made to the gas turbine are as follows: Changes to the cycle temperatures Increasing the efficiency of turbo machinery components Modifications to the basic cycle Cycle Temperature

Samuel Barber Piano Noted to be one of Samuel Barber s most popular piano works, acclaimed pianist Vladimir Horowitz called Sonata for Piano, op. 26 the first truly great native work in the form and premiered the sonata, sparking it s rise to fame. Barber was a friend and fan of Horowitz, and found compositional inspiration through Horowitz s playing by implementing wide pallets of color, flexible tempo changes, and huge sonorities. In addition, Horowitz found Barber to be one of the few American composers who knows how to write for the piano. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The dynamic and energetic first movement starts in a different key than it s home key of E flat minor, and was woven in sonata form. It is known for having many staggering several key and time signature changes and rhythmic figurations that mostly consist of dotted 8ths and 16ths, triplets, and groups of 16ths while contrasting with very mysterious sounding lyrical themes in between. These alternations are very unpredictable and constantly keep the listener guessing. The second movement, which is in rondo form, maintains the mysteriousness of the first movement, but maintains a very playful and mischievous attitude, rather than an intense and fiery one. It keeps flowing and flowing like water without stopping to slow down once, all while maneuvering between double and triple meter and skipping around the range of the keyboard. The third movement s aesthetic is one of heart wrenching lament through lots of sobbing chromaticism, dissonant shades, and dark, tempestuous chords. Stylistically, it is the most modern sounding movement of all and employs the 12 tone technique like the first
  • 17. Spoon River Anthology Essay Spoon River Anthology The Spoon River Anthology, written by Edgar Lee Masters in 1915, was a unique piece of work in both style and structure. There are over two hundred stories told by the dead people who once lived in the town of Spoon River. The lives and dreams of these people are written as poems. The poetry itself is an excellent example of early modernist style. Since there are many people from many different backgrounds, and even different generations, (There are examples of Old English spellings and hints of people being from different decades), there are varied stories and themes present throughout the Anthology. A lot of the book revolves around the concept of the American dream and ethic, as well as the puritan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some died happy, but a lot of the poems are bitter. The ghost of Lucinda Matlock presents one of the overall themes. The woman tells the story of her hard but full life. Then she expresses her anger toward the living generations petty woes. She states that Life is too strong for you it takes life to love life. Lucinda s character is based on Edgar Lee Master s grandmother of the same name, who is buried in the cemetery that inspired the author. Another thematic poem is that of Yee Bow. Yee Bow was an Asian man who worshipped Confucius. The people of Spoon River tried to convert him, but he was faithful. One day, without warning, the clergyman s son hit and killed Yee Bow. Yee was grief stricken, knowing that his progeny could not worship him while he lie in Spoon River. Cooney Potter is my favorite character. He tells how he acquired a small piece of land from his father, and through hard work, he became quite prominent, but never satisfied. He says that his hard work killed him before he reached the age of sixty. He had achieved the American dream in the physical sense but he had never taken the time to enjoy it. • 18. The Ontological Argument By Anselm I will begin my paper by discussing the two major versions of the ontological argument by Anselm presented in the proslogion. The first being Possible and actual existence , and the second being Contingent or Necessary . One should start off with the first summarized in the standard form as follows: #1 It is a conceptual truth that God is a being than which none greater can be imagined. #2 God exists as an idea in the mind. #3 A being that exists as an idea in the mind and in reality is, other things being equal, greater than a being that exists only as an idea in the mind. #4 Thus, if God exists only as an idea in the mind, then we can imagine something that is greater than God. #5 But we cannot imagine something that is greater than... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [Ia] Unfortunately to properly render a complete discussion of the ontological argument One must begin by defining a few keywords. Definitions for P2 are as follows. first, conceptual truth: something that can be understood or perceived by the use of reason or imagination. Second, a being: one s basic nature, or the qualities thereof; essence or personality[3]. Third, greater: of ability, quality, or eminence considerably above the normal or average [4]. Forth, imagined: form a mental image or concept of [4]. Fifth, Idea: a thought or suggestion as to a possible course of action [4]. Sixth, mind: the element of a person that enables them to be aware of the world and their experiences, to think, and to feel; the faculty of consciousness and thought [4]. Definitions for P3 are as follows. Seventh, actual: existing in fact; typically as contrasted with what was intended, expected, or believed [4]. Eighth, existence: the fact or state of living or having objective reality. Ninth, contingent: occurring or existing only if certain other circumstances are the case; dependent on [4]. Tenth, necessary: present; needed; essential [4]. Due to the nature of definitions, I will not give an argument for the lack of implied meanings. [IIa] For P2 axioms #1 and #3 appears that using a loose form of relativism the argument holds. For axiom #2 its entirety is an assumption that is to be disproved. Axioms #4 6 are logical deductions from Axioms #1 through #3. For P3

  • 20. The Military Revolution Holub, Martin HIST; midterm #2 The military revolution was a direct outcome of changes in the virtuosity of war between 1560 and 1660. The changes crucially influenced campaigning and combat in Europe during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The most influential alterations included transformation in weapons, growth in the army size, change in tactics and organization, and centralization of the states bureaucracies. There were many battles in the late 17th and early 18th centuries that were highly influenced by the implications of the military revolution, for example, the Battles of Hogue, Danube, and Blenheim. These altercations started a development for military superiority and increased proficiency that enabled Europe to dominate the world long after the Wars of the Spanish Succession. However, I would like to emphasize that those victories mentioned above were heavily influenced by the skills of the commanding individuals and their roles in the military organizational system rather than a full internalization of the revolution s implications overall. The Duke of Marlborough is a great example of an individual overweighting the flaws of the late 17th century logistical systems to his advantage. By comparison, France s failure to understand and implement the alterations eventually enabled the rise of Britain s at the French expense. During the 17th century the European powers developed a whole new array of firepower. The old gunpowder weapons that fired by

In summer of 1780, French allied with American and provided them a major boost of 5,500 troops which were commanded by Comte de Rochambeau (History of the Siege.) In May 10, 1781, British General Charles Earl Cornwallis, known as Lord Cornwallis, decided that he could not control over the southern colonies until he defeated Virginia. With that in mind, he searched for a place to set up a naval base which made Yorktown a perfect place in his plan (Colonial 12.) Thus confirming the superiority of the white race. Conrad further marginalises and degrades the African characters and race not only through the denial of language but also the denial of human form. When Marlow first sees Africans in a small boat on the water, he describes them in terms of their muscles , bones and white teeth , despite also recognizing a vitality and spirit. It can be used in decision analysis to refer to situations where one probability distribution can be ranked as superior to the other probability distribution. Set the CDF of realized prices be and the CDF of estimated prices be , where P refers to Price. In terms of the cumulative distribution function of two assets, one asset is said to be stochastically dominant over the other if the CDF of one asset is greater than the other in every state of nature. This is the first order stochastic dominance. First order stochastic dominance applies to all increasing utility functions. In this case, if the CDF of estimated prices are always greater than the CDF of realized prices, we can identify that realized prices dominant estimated prices in first order. The chart below shows the CDF of estimated prices and realized prices. In 1904 there used to be close to 400,000 blue whales living on earth, but now due to over hunting people have put the human race in danger along with the blue whale species. The history of whaling originates all the way back 3000B.C. Whaling is killing whales for meat and oil. Huge fleets of whalers did not come around until the 1700 s. By the 1930 s 50,000 whales were being killed annually. From 1904 to 1967 360,000 blue whales were killed, that adds up to about 70% of their population. Econometrics Applied Econometrics BE5103 Tutorial 1 Q1 a) In the simple OLS regression estimation it is not possible that all actual independent Yi values lie above the estimated regression line. This is because OLS minimizes SUM ГЄ2 , the residual , ГЄ, is the difference between the actual Yi and the predicted Yi and has zero mean. In other words, OLS calculates the slope coefficient so that the difference between the predicted Yi and actual Yi is minimized. The OLS estimates of the ОІs: Are unbiased the ОІs are centred around the true population values of ОІs Have minimum variance the distribution of the ОІ estimates around the true ОІs are as tight as possible Are consistent as the sample size(n) approaches infinity, the estimated ОІs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The closer that R2 is to 1, the better the fit meaning the group of independent variable could explain better what happens to the dependent variable. R2 may not be the best estimate at times because if we add another independent variable to the model the R2 would increase but it does not say necessary the model becomes better. Therefore some would prefer to look at the adjusted R2 as it would only increase if the variable used are relevant to the model. Addition of independent variable to the model would not result in an increase in adjusted R2 if the variables does not improve the model. We can then look at the T Statistics to see how individual variable can explain the dependent variable, by doing a T test comparing it with the Critical value T. By doing a 10%,5% or 1% test. We could also look at the model as a whole by looking at the F Statistics and doing a F test. With Eviews regression we can simply look at the P Values to see at which level of confidence we can reject the Hypothesis, From the above 3models, it seems that R2 is highest in model 3, and the adjusted R2 is also the highest in the model which tells us that the independent variable are better in explaining the dependent variable. Model 3 is a better regression model. Income per person is a better independent variable rather than income and population as a variable. Again this goes in line with economic theory, as income per person increases it would result increase

Psychotherapy s effectiveness is based on the cathartic or abreactive method used, where the patient releases psychological tension by re experiencing traumatic events. Although anxiety can be produced by repressed sexual drives, it can also be produced by many other repressed emotions like anger, jealousy, and fear. When these repressed emotions try to reach the conscious, anxiety appears from the unconscious fears related to the traumatic experience. Then, these affects, emotions associated with ideas or actions, are re repressed by secondary defenses. Using this idea, Freud described and explained many dynamic processes involved in anxiety disorders. For instance, displacement would be a secondary defense in phobias, while reversal and reaction formation would be secondary defenses in obsessive compulsive disorder (Wolman Stricker, 1994). However, Freud had to revise his theory after empirical evidence demonstrated that abreaction of affects only relieve the symptoms temporally. In his second model, Freud said that anxiety was a signal for the anticipation of danger that produces defense mechanisms. In a way, anxiety expresses the level of conflict in the unconscious. For this reason, abreaction represents only a partial treatment because it does not resolve the cognitive element of anxiety. Anxiety would be permanent reduced changing the unconscious anticipation of danger. Nevertheless, cognitive elements of anxiety are not just based on innate needs and

If the resurrection accounts harmonize perfectly, skeptics will claim that the writers of the Gospels conspired together. If the resurrection accounts have some differences, skeptics will claim that the Gospels contradict each other and therefore cannot be trusted. This document allows the American people to be who they are. The constitution and its amendments outline the rules that are to be followed by and the rights that are given to the people and the government. The first amendment to the constitution is one that never seems to be debated itself, but its interpretation is often times debated. In saying this I mean that most everyone agrees that people should have the right to free speech, but what is often debated is where to draw the line. The question is, what is the difference is between someone using their right to free speech and them spewing hate speech. The first amendment is quite possibly the most important to maintaining our form government. It allows us, the people to have a say and speak on political topics among other things. The creature to whom he has given life now terrifies Victor and makes him regret his decision. This raises the question: When does science go too far? Like Frankenstein s creation of life, Factory Farms push the limits of science by attempting to control a set part of nature.
