Problems With College Bathrooms
College dorms are always a great experience for your first year of college because we get to meet new
people. There is just one problem the bathrooms they could be changed. There should be no CO ED
bathroom, install more showers, give each room their own bathroom, or put locks on the shower. This
is a problem for me because I am not used to someone I don t know coming in the bathroom while I m
in the shower. I feel uncomfortable knowing that someone else is in there. There should be a change in
residence hall bathrooms that make students feel more comfortable and safe while being in the
bathroom.
As a college student, I feel as if in each dorm room should consist of a bathroom with a shower, sink,
and toilet. Each dorm should have their own bathroom because it would be more sanitary than sharing
a bathroom with 10 or more people every day. Schools should extend dorm rooms by taking out the
public bathrooms that way they can expand the rooms to fit the bathrooms. It would also be more
convenient to students because they wouldn t have to rush to be the first one in the shower in the
morning it would be right there in the room. You also won t have to worry about dirty showers or hair
stuck in the drains. To get this put into place students could start a petition for this to happen and if we
have enough hopefully the school will take it into consideration. This would be the best solution
because students would feel more comfortable using a bathroom in their room it could make

Essay On Arizona Statehood
Running head: Arizona
Arizona Statehood and Constitution

Arizona Statehood and Constitution
Part I: Arizona Statehood It is quite a remarkable journey that Arizona embarked upon to make it the
forty eight state of the United States of America. On February 14, 2012 it became an integral part of
this new found world of democracy and freedom. Along with its vast cultures and heated
temperatures, the architectural design of the city is a pure reflection of the inhabitants who were
established here before to make it their own homeland. This essay will examine the road to statehood
and analyze the events to make Arizona become a state.

because the need for access to the Pacific Ocean for trading. In 1848, the Treaty of Guadalupe was
signed. For 15 million, Mexico ceded more than one third of its territory and the U.S. acquired all of
Arizona north of the Gila River (McClory, 2001). Unfortunately, southern Arizona still was in control
by Mexico, which included Tucson. Arizona and New Mexico became one territory called the
Territory of New Mexico. Soon after, the United States paid another 10 million for 30,000 square
miles of the Mexican territory that included Tucson. Congress thought the purchase was meaningless
because it was just desert land. The Gadsden Purchase gave the final boundary that Arizona has today.
In 1860, along with the constitution, a governor and other elected officials were established. That was
unfortunately short lived because of the Civil War. In 1862, Union troops entered the state and placed
it under martial rule, this action further delayed Arizona s official admission as a state (McClory,
2011).
The Territorial Period Congress finally pushed for Arizona to have separate territorial status because
of the discovery of precious metals. On February, 24, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln signed the
Organic Act, which officially created Arizona s territory (McClory, 2001). The first official governor,
John Goodwin, took the oath of office on December 29, 1863. Prescott became the capital in 1864,
then to Tucson (1867), then back to Prescott

Why Did The American Colonists Have Their Rights Essay
Great Britain operated colonies in America for over 150 years. Throughout this time period, the
colonists governed themselves fairly and justly with little interference from Great Britain. Then,
British government jumped in and suddenly started treating the colonists as a lesser people. Why did
the American colonist have the rights of Englishmen? The American colonists had the rights of
Englishmen because they were subjects of the British rule, and all subjects of the king or queen lived
their rights as Englishmen. Even though the colonists were natives of Great Britain, which should
have given them equal rights of the British, their rights were violated. The colonist s family and
friends, who had just arrived from Great Britain felt as if they were stripped of their rights and treated
as rebels. What ideas did colonists in America use when they formed their own governments? When
forming their own government the colonists had many ideas, for example Natural Rights and Rule of
Law, which were based off of different, well developed governments. The colonist s base of
government was a representative government where the people choose their representatives. They also
used the valuable ideas from the British documents. Then, the Founders divided the power into three
branches of government to make sure that no one person could have ... Show more content on

The British government had just fought a costly war with France and needed money to pay for
medical care and damage. Needing a source for funds, the British turned to their newly acquired land
and sought after the colonies for payment. This led to the British government tightening control over
the colonies and made them feel oppressed. The British imposed several acts on the colonies. One of
these acts was the Sugar Act of 1764. The purpose of the law was to stop the smuggling of goods in
and out of the colonies. Naval officers used writs of assistance to enter colonial

Feasibility Study
Phase 1: Research
Good research is the key to success in property development. We start out by arming ourselves with
all the information needed to determine which locations have the potential to make money or not.
In this phase we evaluate potential suburbs, neighbourhoods and sites, do a preliminary market study,
put together a preliminary budget, carry out a preliminary financial analysis, prepare a timing analysis
and review the political climate and the council approval process.
Here are the steps we will evaluate in detail during the course:
a) Become expert in at least one area probably starting with the suburb where you live.
b) Decide what kind of development suits your goals and capability.
c) Gather information from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this phase we finalise the acquisition of the site, get any required government approvals and
begin talks with builders and other professionals we will need for the construction of the project.
We will evaluate these pre construction steps later in the course:
a) Organise our finance
b) Secure the property by purchase or option
a) Engage an architect to produce your plans and DA.
b) Evaluate prospective builders and project managers
c) Submit a Development Application or other required documentation to Council
d) Revise and update our Feasibility study. (We will keep doing this throughout the project)
e) Organise Certification and Construction Certificate
f) Begin pre sales if applicable
Phase 4: Construction
This is one of the most exciting moments in the process. During this phase your development project
will finally become tangible.
While you may not be doing any of the actual construction work yourself, you will gain great
satisfaction seeing your hard work come to fruition.
In this part of the course we will examine these steps in detail:
a) Finalise (and monitor) our schedule to make sure everything is proceeding on time
b) xxxxx (Consult Dom / Martin on these steps)

America Chavez Evolution
The Evolution of Women throughout Comics Between the years of 1938 to 2017, traditional gender
roles slowly broke down and evolved, whether it d be in politics, entertainment, or literature. To be
more specific, superhero comics such as Superman (1938), Wonder Woman (1941), Fantastic Four
(1961), Watchmen (1986), and America Chavez (2017), all comprised in shaping the traditional beliefs
of gender roles and empowered change. Although traditional gender norms are still an issue today,
comics have attempted at times, but also succeeded in breaking down barriers while appealing to the
audience. By using different artistic techniques, such as the iconic illustration itself, types of closure,
and lines sketched, illustrators battled but succeeded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nonetheless, our society has come a long way to demonstrate gender equality, especially in superhero
comics. At first, women weren t valued as much as males to be as equal as them but as time
progressed, slowly but surely, women were able to prove that theory wrong and become just as
successful as the males in the world of superheroes. It s critical to understand our past, whether it s
fictional or not, in hopes for history to not be repeated again. On that note, learning the evolution of
women in comics, allows society to bring new and creative ideas for the generations to come that

Our Youth have Questionable Role Models from the Music...
Many popular music artists today are looked up to for their songs, style, and personality. People in
today s society can be easily influenced and many have role models they look up to and aspire to be. A
role model has qualities that affect young kids and also adults that can lead to either positive or
negative influences. This can be somewhat of a dangerous thing considering the role model the people
choose. While this can be something innocent, like singing along to songs or dressing with a certain
style, it can also be something negative, like bad behavior, drug, abuse, and violence. Parts of society,
mostly fan bases, condone all types of behavior by their favorite artists, no matter good or bad. This
has a potential bad affect on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In January of 2013, Bieber was caught smoking marijuana in Newport Beach, CA. Not only was this
illegal, but his fans reacted in such a deranged way of protest. They started a trend called cut4bieber

cutting their wrists and taking pictures of their self mutilation to send to him. They were hoping this
would get his attention to stop his illegal activities. It is so dark and scary how far his fans will go for
him. Another incident happened in January of 2014 where he was arrested and charged for driving
under the influence, drag racing, and resisting arrest without violence. After his arrest, his fans were
fully supporting and standing by Bieber. They were creating a riot on the internet saying they wanted
him freed from jail. The young fans kept making excuses for Bieber saying he s only 19 years old and
how he s allowed to make mistakes because he s young. Forgiving drunk and reckless driving
instantly just because of someone s social status is unacceptable. If another person drove drunk and
put people in potential danger would these kids still start a trend on twitter to free them from jail?
Probably not. They would be talking up a storm about how bad of a crime drunk driving is. Allowing
Justin Bieber to get away with a potentially dangerous crime is seriously wrong. This shows

Shifting gear to gear and racing down the street can be very fun. But in order to be able to actually
shift the gears and get the vehicle to move, their are many steps involved. With the perfection of these
steps you will be able to drive the vehicle smoothly and efficiently. The equipment that will be needed
for this process is usually the same for every vehicle. At a minimum, you will need an open lot, a hill
near by, and a manual transmission vehicle. Once you get the necessary equipment, it is time to get in
the driver s seat of the vehicle. Once you are in the driver s seat of the vehicle, grab onto the gear lever
and move it left to right a couple of times. If the lever is moving side to side, the vehicle is in neutral.

When into the third gear and the clutch is all the way down, start to release the clutch and start giving
gas when the clutch is about half way out. Continue to give the vehicle gas until the clutch is all the

to go up slower and slower as the gears go up. When the RPM gets back up to 3000 3500, press in the
clutch. With the clutch pushed back in, move the gear lever straight down all the way. This will put it
into fourth gear. With the gear lever in fourth gear, start to release the clutch and press back down on
the gas. When your foot is off of the clutch, continue to drive. Watching the RPM gauge again, drive

Grand Nursing Theory Essay
Applying Theory to a Practice Problem October 3, 2012 Introduction Our first class in the masters in
nursing program, has been focused on nursing theorists. We have learned about Grand Theories, which
are theories that are very broad and difficult to test and Middle Range Theories, which are also broad
theories but narrow enough to be testable. We have learned how to study the different theories,
looking at how we can utilize theories to evaluate practice. I have been in a nursing leadership role for
many years. Approximately 8 years ago, I lead a group of nurses to develop a shared governance

The Lime By Neil Gaiman
Blurred Limes
The lime featured in chapters eleven, twelve, and thirteen of Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman seems so
misplaced it brings into speculation why it was in the book at all. The lime is first brought into the plot
through Fat Charlie s taxi driver who wants to prove to Charlie that limes really do grow on the island.
The lime becomes the only luggage Charlie has with him and when Charlie goes out to look for Mrs.
Higgler, several strangers ask if he is the one with the lime, some even proceed to ask if he would
show it to them. When Charlie returns to the hotel, the lime is there waiting for him where he left it.
He decides to take the lime with him the next time he goes out, which happens to be that night. He
runs into Daisy in the hotel s restaurant, and with the lime in his pocket, successfully grabs the
attention of everyone in the room which in turn diverts the murderous Grahame Coats course of
action. Later on, during a trip to a magical other world, Charlie asks Dragon if he s afraid of limes.
The short conversation gets him out of trouble. By then Charlie doesn t have the lime with him
anymore, but what he does have is the green fedora his father gives him earlier on in that trip to the
magical other world. Both the lime and the fedora are green, but the lime more likely symbolizes
Charlie s own development of his father s characteristics, compared to the fedora, which Charlie is
able to wear proudly, showing how unashamed he has become of his father since

Norman Bowie s The Land Ethic
According to Wikipedia a land ethic is a philosophy that seeks to guide the actions when humans use
or make changes to the land. Contrary to the three views of corporate responsibility, the philosopher
Norman Bowie believes that businesses have no special obligation to the environment except those
defined by the law. And dolphins should be considered to be non human persons as they are highly
intelligent, almost identical to humans. Aldo Leopold tries to explain how we are ethically and morally
obligated to take care of our resources. The Land Ethic Leopold explains how we have viewed the

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, is a neurodegenerative disease associated with the breakdown
and loss of motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. Voluntary muscle control degenerates until the
body eventually loses function. To better understand how ALS works, the medical terminology can
first be translated into a more basic understanding. A meaning not, myo meaning muscle, and trophic
meaning nourishment or growth [source]. Due to the loss of motor neurons, the muscle loses
nourishment and atrophies, or wastes away. Lateral means that this condition usually affects only one
side of the body and sclerosis means hardening and buildup of fibrous (scar) tissue. The disease is
progressive and is 100% fatal. ALS was first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

due to respiratory failure. Although, about 20% will live up to 5 years, 10% up to 10 years, and 5% of
patients will live for 20 years or more [source]. While the prognosis is grim, there are treatments and
medication available to slow progression and relieve symptoms. Treatments suggested are support
(nutritional and physiological) and therapy (physical, speech, and occupational). Fortunately there is
one medication, called Riluzole, that is FDA approved for ALS sufferers. Studies conducted on

central and peripheral nervous system), it is not consistent throughout the population and may only
have limited benefits [article citation]. Studies have further showed that the prolonged effect of
Riluzole is only temporary (increasing life by a few months) and is not a long term solution [article

much familiarized with the position of each key and comfortable with pressing the keys without lifting
my whole hand. Needless to say, I would not be able to figure out how the piano works if I did not
receive any kind of instruction. The first thing I did was to search for YouTube videos because it is an
excellent choice to learn almost anything, not just instruments. YouTube not only teaches the viewers
by demonstrating on how to complete a particular task, but also uses videos to help the viewers
visualize what is going on. There was a variety of piano videos that were made specifically for
beginners like me. There was also variation between each videos depending on who the instructor was
and in which angle it was shot. Generally, I chose the videos that contained a well experienced
instructor instead of an amateur, and a good camera angle that clearly showed all the piano keys. After
this learning experience, I am confident that I am no longer a beginner. Although instructions from the
videos were easy to follow, there were still some challenges that I encountered during my practices
that could not be solved by the internet resources entirely. Having questions meant that I would have
to comment on the video and wait for an answer or look for a new video in order to find solution.

Jews Were Complacent During The Holocaust
It is a common misconception that Jews were complacent during the Holocaust. For most people, the
only knowledge, if any, about Jewish resistance during the Holocaust comes from a fictional movie,
Inglourious Basterds. While certainly based on facts, Inglourious Basterds is not a good way of
expelling a myth. In actuality, and despite popular belief, Jews were not complacent during the
Holocaust. They performed both violent and non violent resistance against the Nazis, such as spiritual
resistance, forming partisan groups, and starting uprisings and riots in many ghettos and concentration
camps.
Spiritual resistance is defined as attempts by individuals to maintain their humanity, personal integrity,
and sense of civilization in the face of Nazi attempts to dehumanize and degrade them by the United
States Holocaust Museum (Spiritual). Spiritual resistance was highly regarded by many Jews, and
most actually considered it to be the purest form of resistance because it was non violent, and kept
their spirits from being broken, even while facing horrible degradation. Examples of spiritual
resistance include conducting religious services while in ghettos or concentration camps, keeping
covert libraries of Jewish works, and establishing secret archives to report about daily life in the
ghettos.
The continuation of religious practices while in ghettos was most commonly conducted by Orthodox
Jews because they heavily opposed violence, but religion continued in almost all ghettos

order to demonstrate the theme of appreciating what one may have before it s gone. The poem Oh

the narrator has a distinct negative connotation of the children. The poem opens with the line Oh

The narrator of the poem bounces back and forth between what the people of Gaza were experiencing
and what the spectators in Brazil were experiencing. The first change of scenery is seen in lines 1 4 of
the poem, People inside out/on the streets in their loved ones /arms people screaming/in football
stadiums (Beck). The people of Gaza are holding each other because they are scared of the attack,
while the spectators of the World Cup are shouting with passion for their team to make a pass, or score
a goal. Throughout the next few lines of the poem the bombings in Gaza are illustrated, there s an old
woman/who dies holding/her spoon waiting/ for iftar/which comes but so do/the rockets (Beck 10 16).
In the latter of the poem, a very significant and moving shift between the two settings is shown, a
player kisses a trophy/his wife his son/a mother/kisses a dead child/grief inside out (Beck 50 54). The
contrast between the settings themselves is what really emphasizes the poem s theme of appreciating
what one may have, as the player is kissing his wife, son, and trophy, out of joy, but the mother is
kissing her child who has been killed, out of grief. The people viewing the World Cup were oblivious
to the occurrences in Gaza, which is what Zeina Hashem Beck was getting across to the

The Effects Of Controlled Burns On Rangelands
The Effects of Controlled Burns on Rangelands
Shane J. Methvin
BYU Idaho
Abstract
There are many different techniques or methods used to manage rangelands. These methods have been
implemented to improve the health of a rangeland. One such technique that has been found to be
beneficial is controlled burning. Controlled burning can help improve rangelands for both livestock
and wildlife if managed properly. This is done by burning an area which kills undesirable woody
species, giving desirable, native grass species a chance to bounce back, as they can be choked out by
these competing woody species. Controlled burning can also have negative effects as well if managed
improperly. If controlled burns are managed properly, the overall ... Show more content on

Such was the case in the study conducted by a Texas AgriLife Research Range ecologist (Ledbetter,
2010). The focus of this study was observing the effects of summer patch fires on the reduction of
unwanted woody plants and prickly pear cacti. In this study, patches were burned rather than burning
pastures as a whole to allow livestock to continue to graze in other areas simultaneously with the
controlled burns. These burns took place in the summer rather than the winter because, prescribed fire
in the summer is more effective in controlling unwanted woody plants and prickly pear cactus than
winter fires because they burn hotter (Ledbetter, 2010). The results indicated that if controlled burning
and rotational grazing are carefully managed, success in reducing the number of unwanted plants can
be achieved (Ledbetter, 2010). Sometimes the public s opinion about burning rangelands and
regulations can influence the ability of landowners and range managers to perform controlled burns.
Many of the grasslands and areas managers wish to burn have adapted to occasional fires and native
grasses can recover quite well, while unwanted woody species are reduced. Suppression of controlled
burns, many times because of the public s opinion, can lead to an increase in these woody species,
competing for nutrients with native grasses. If controlled burns continue to be suppressed by the
public and

The Importance Of Physical Inactivity In School
Objectives or purposes: The American College Health Association has continuously attempted to
promote physical activity (PA) in higher education settings for more than three decades. However,
significant progress in improving college student PA behaviors still remains to be seen. To date, about
two thirds of college students are classified as sedentary and/or underactive, putting them at a higher
risk level for poor health. The seemingly unstoppable propensity toward physical inactivity among
college students calls for more innovative interventions to effectively alter student PA behaviors.
Given that students spend most of their awake time studying, in classrooms, libraries and seated
activities, the project aimed to change the classroom ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To the best of our knowledge, however, few studies have aimed to change the classroom culture and
settings to facilitate the adoption of a physically active lifestyle among college students. In fact, like
that in all other educational settings, college classrooms are solely designed for academic activities
which are generally sedentary in nature. To this end, after having spent more than 10 years engaging
in such kind of academic activities, students are basically forced to embrace sedentary lifestyles.
Therefore, there is urgent need to change the classroom culture and settings to effectively promote PA
among students.
The current project is guided by the social ecological model (SEM) (see Figure 1), which has been
used widely in studies on behavioral changes (Golden Earp, 2012refs). Unlike many other models
used on the same topic, SEM illustrates the multifaceted and interactive effects of individual and
environmental factors that determine behaviors (McLeroy, Steckler, Bibeau, 1988). The SEM consists

Planning involves identifying tasks that must be performed in order to achieve organization goals,
outlining how the task must be executed and the time suitable for the execution of tasks. Planning is
important in determining the organizational success short term and long term future.

Controlling
Controlling is an ongoing process when management continually gather information, compare present
performance, determine improvement required to achieve organizational goals.
Fisher sets realistics goals with his managers and makes it clear to them to track and monitor their
progress and meet the goals. He also stressed the importance of accountability. Managers that missed
their goals will be dealt with consequences.
Fisher is concerned with the time taken to do things, high costs per employee and the mammoth task
in changing the culture of large company. Hence, continuous monitoring and control of the company
progress is important.

Christian Teachings On The Righteousness Of God
There is a lot that could be said about the righteousness of God. Simply put, righteousness is the life of
God. It is a pure or undefiled state of existence. Everything about God is righteousness, and everyone
who has been born of God through the cross of Calvary has been given this nature of God. This is the
nature of life and purity. God is a spirit and when He birthed us, He recreated us in spirit so that we
may once again be like Him. When we were born again in the spirit, the Lord gave us His pure nature
that is against anything that is filthy. Sin is the dirtiest thing in the sight of God. Anyone who is born
again has been born again in the righteousness of God. Those who believe in Jesus are born into a new
spiritual kingdom of righteousness. God is righteous and his kingdom is the kingdom of righteousness.
The number one enemy of the kingdom of righteousness is sin. Those who are born again are born
against sin. Everything about our new kingdom is against sinfulness, and we ought to walk in the
testimony of our salvation. We were born again because the power of sin ... Show more content on

To live in faith is to live in the spirit. When you live in the spirit, you are no longer controlled by the
world. Anyone who lives in the spirit does not care about what the world is doing or saying, he is
mindful of what God says. He has separated himself from the poisonous influence of the world.
Faith is a spiritual power or ability that connects those who love the righteousness of God to the
spiritual realm of existence. It makes it possible for us to comprehend and touch the spiritual things.
Through faith, we understand that the Spiritual is more real than the physical. It is only through faith
that we could understand the mysteries of God s existence. Furthermore, it is through faith that we
understand that the spiritual powers have created the physical entities, and due to that, what is physical
must be subordinate to the

Analysis Of The Book Huckleberry Finn
Representation of Jim in Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
In the opening of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Jim, an escaped slave previously owned by Miss
Watson, is a simple, kind, and generous man who is also almost superstitious to a fault. However, Jim
develops as a character throughout the novel in a humble passage from slave to free man and Tom
Sawyer s savior. This character transformation manifests itself throughout Jim and Huck s time
together in a search for freedom and a path back to Jim s family that he left behind. While on the
journey, Jim must run at night, hide during the day, and endure the loneliness of his situation
constantly while taking care of Huck; this determination and personal strength despite oppression by
white people make Jim one of the only respectable adults in the novel. Through courageous and
selfless acts, the initially simple Jim demonstrates loyalty, love, strength, and wisdom to establish
himself as a heroic figure in the novel. Jim seems to have a superstition for any occasion one could
think of, but Jim is a product of his time and his beliefs provide answers to phenomenon that people
could not explain. As a first impression at Miss Watson s house, Jim s superstitious ways come across
as idiocy as he thinks that, witches bewitched him and put him in a trance, and rode him all over the
State, and then set him under the trees again ; However, the superstitions ultimately gain depth and
background starting with Jim and Huck s time

Hum 115 Oil Pipeline Research Paper
Oil Pipelines Opposing Viewpoints Clayton Brooks HUM/115 Dr. Disque Oil Pipelines Opposing
View Points Pipeline is the best alternative and safest mode of transporting fuel compared to freight
trains or tanker tracks. However, there are those who argue that it is not safe because of lack of
adequate resources to inspect them, as well as the absence of regulations regarding the use of a
pipeline to transport fuel. Equally important, another issue is the great hazard to human life and
environment that can be difficult to control or eliminate in case of a spill. Explanation of Two
Different Points of View Regarding the Topic Opponents of the use of the pipeline mode to transport
fuel claim that it is responsible for numerous deaths that occur annually. The rate of increased
accidents is attributable to the fact that as a mode of fuel transportation, minimal oversight, outdated

The authors contend that a majority of individuals often confuse ethics with acting in line with the
law, religious beliefs, and social conventions. Consequently, people depend on various principles and
concepts to differentiate between helpful and harmful behaviors. The opponents base their arguments
regarding the topic on the concept of law. According to their arguments, the pipeline unlike other
modes of transporting fuel is not well regulated. Likewise, its accidents are catastrophic and often
attract the attention of the government and the media. Therefore, the pipeline should not be utilized as
an alternative to transporting fuel because it is quite dangerous. However, those with the opposing
viewpoints base their arguments on social conventions. The opponents claim that the pipeline is the
safest way because the fatalities that result from the use of tanks or freight trains are 70 times higher

Goodfellas Analysis Essay
GoodFellas
Intro
At the beginning of the 1970s, two men, by the names of Martin Scorcese and Robert De Niro, met
and started an extremely successful and world renowned string of movie director/actor collaborations.
Over the course of 22 years, spawning from 1973, with their first film Mean Streets, to 1995, with their
most recent work Casino, the duo paired up for 8 movies, most of which are considered some of the
greatest films of all time. The most notable, however, would have to be their 1990 movie Goodfellas, a
classic film which was nominated for 6 oscars, winning one, and named the greatest film of all time
by British film magazine Total Film, an organized crime movie which is one of my favorite movies.

The character becomes in conflict with himself when he meets and marries a girl by the name of
Karen Friedman, which makes him reconsider his life as a gangster. However, he realizes that he is too
deep into it and can not walk away. Despite this, for most of the film, he remains his calm, composed
and likeable self, as he is shown as the only sane person of the crew. The catalyst to his character
change is drugs. Once he starts dealing and using heroine and cocaine, he immediately becomes a
jumpy and paranoid man, who is unable to keep his cool. His drug activities and incarceration lose
him the respect of Jimmy Conway and made man Paul Cicero, who he becomes in conflict with,
which makes him a marked man.
Setting
The film starts out in a predominantly Italian American neighbourhood in Brooklyn, New York in the
mid 1950s. The values that were held the highest at that time in place were family and money. The
film s other major setting is John F Kennedy Airport, which is the scene of many of the hijackings and
robberies that occur in the movie.
Themes
The two major themes in this movie is friendship and greed, and the two themes often come in conflict
with each other. The mafia is made up of a very select few individuals, who are together all the time
and don t affiliate with outsiders. This makes them grow strong bonds and develop friendships with
each other. According to Jimmy Conway, the two most important things to remember is to never rat on
your friends,

Arts Integration Research Paper
The idea of arts integration is a topic widely used by arts advocates in schools to gain support and
understanding from the community, though not many people understand what it means, exactly. The
term arts integration is a teaching approach that incorporates the different arts disciplines to direct a
better, and more well rounded learning environment ( Metla). By integrating the arts into learning, the
school systems broaden the traditional ideas of education which then helps to produce a more creative
community. The schools and teachers use different ways to integrate the arts which include using the
arts as their own separate courses or incorporating them into all of the separate classes (Arts Edge).
The decision of which one of the ways will be used, or whether both will be used, is chosen by the
individual schools based on educational standards and money. ... Show more content on

The pairing of arts integration in the classrooms and a structured arts rich learning environment is the
most effective way for students to fully express their creativity and to thrive in academic studies; but,
even though using both tactics is the best way, it is not used as often as the majority of school systems
place a greater importance on standardized testing based subjects. Kennedy Center for the Performing
Arts stated that the integration of the arts is an approach to teaching where the students can construct
and demonstrate an understanding through the usage of an art form. This approach engages the
students in a way that builds their creative processes and connects the subjects together more
cohesively. This cohesion is why arts integration is of importance for the schools systems, which have
increased scores, and the students, which not only enjoy their education but also learn and understand

which Lou used whilst filming this victim was placing the camera directly above the his head using a

Summary Of Presidential Power By Richard Neustadt
In the excerpt Presidential Power, Richard Neustadt argues that ability to persuade, lead, and bargain
is the sources of presidential power. He wrote, His strength or weakness, then, turns on his personal
capacity to influence the conduct of men who make up the government. His influence becomes the
mark of his leadership... Presidential ...means nothing but the president. Power means his influence.
The president s ability to lead people means that people give him/her power. Neustadt recognizes how,
in form, all presidents are leaders, nowadays, explaining how many other people or entities seek
guidance and leadership, and that the president, as the Great Initiator is the most suited person to
deliver it. Yet, Neustadt argues that this

Common Problem Areas
There are a significant number of common problem areas in writing reports in the criminal justice
field, because individuals often submit reports without proofreading and correcting mistakes.
Consequently, it has a negative impact on the overall quality of the report because it can make it
difficult for readers to understand the issues or topics that is being discussed in the report. Thus, it is
an important rule to remember not to submit any written report without proof reading it, including
reports that are simple and straightforward (Miller Whitehead, 2015). As previously stated, one of the
common problem areas is misinterpretation, which stems from difficult reading and understanding the
report. Therefore, it is important to read and

Trade Deficit Grows As Strong Dollar Hurts Exports
Trade Deficit grows as strong Dollar hurts Exports. According to this article trade deficit grows as
strong Dollar hurts exports found on the New York Times website, the United States trade deficit grew
moderately in May of 2015, as reported by commerce department during the week of July 2015. This
reflects the decline in sales of American made Aircraft and Machinery as exports continuously suffer
from the strong Dollar. The month of April had a deficit that is imbalanced of 40.7 Billion dollars.
During the month of May, it increased to 2.9 percent leading it to be at 41.9 billion Dollars. American
goods became less competitive in foreign markets this year because of the rising value of the dollar,
which affect and hurt the American producers. Imports decreased 0.1 percent to 230.5 billion dollars.
Exports decreased at a faster pace of 0.8 percent to 188.6 billion dollars. Even though there was a
slight increase in May, the deficit in the last two months together average less than what it averaged in
the first quarter. Maybe that would help raise the growth in the second quarter. Trade decreased nearly
two percentage points off growth in the first three months of the year. The big drag from trade
combined with a severe winter sent the economy right into reserve which caused an annual rate of 0.2
percent during the January to March period of time. According to Analysts, a narrowing of the trade
deficit in the April to June period of time will be a major factor in the

discipline. The classical age discovered the body as an object and target of power. Generally docile

subjected and trained with a lot of practise. He gives various methods about the control of the body

Examples Of Immigration Struggles In A New World

Dr. Neely
October 27 2015
An Immigrants Struggle in a New World The United States of America is in its entirety a giant melting
pot of people, culture, and beliefs. It is an interesting place to live in and is very different from most
other countries. The United States is so vast and so diverse that people from the same country cannot
even relate to each other. It is divided into 50 states each having their own borders, which makes the
United States unique. No state is the same, each having their own ideas and culture. You can see how
coming to this country would change you but you would also find similarities with your own home
country since it is quite possible that your former countryman have settled in the same state or region
that you have also settled in. It is the country of borders. This is increasingly evident in the in the
stories of Lucy by Jamaica Kincaid and Las Vegas Charley by Hisaye Yamamoto. Our protagonists in
Lucy and Las Vegas Charley ultimately change in their beliefs and their lifestyles through influences
and actions of the individuals around them. In the case of Charley and his son Noriyuki, Noriyuki
actually grows because of Charley as Charley dies. He realizes who his father truly is and that relieves
any animosity he had towards him. Noriyuki who, without one sour word, had lived though a
succession of conflicting emotions about his father hate for rejecting him as a child; disgust and

  • 2. Problems With College Bathrooms College dorms are always a great experience for your first year of college because we get to meet new people. There is just one problem the bathrooms they could be changed. There should be no CO ED bathroom, install more showers, give each room their own bathroom, or put locks on the shower. This is a problem for me because I am not used to someone I don t know coming in the bathroom while I m in the shower. I feel uncomfortable knowing that someone else is in there. There should be a change in residence hall bathrooms that make students feel more comfortable and safe while being in the bathroom. As a college student, I feel as if in each dorm room should consist of a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. Each dorm should have their own bathroom because it would be more sanitary than sharing a bathroom with 10 or more people every day. Schools should extend dorm rooms by taking out the public bathrooms that way they can expand the rooms to fit the bathrooms. It would also be more convenient to students because they wouldn t have to rush to be the first one in the shower in the morning it would be right there in the room. You also won t have to worry about dirty showers or hair stuck in the drains. To get this put into place students could start a petition for this to happen and if we have enough hopefully the school will take it into consideration. This would be the best solution because students would feel more comfortable using a bathroom in their room it could make ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay On Arizona Statehood Running head: Arizona Arizona Statehood and Constitution Monica Williams Grand Canyon University: POS 301 November 20, 2011 Arizona Statehood and Constitution Part I: Arizona Statehood It is quite a remarkable journey that Arizona embarked upon to make it the forty eight state of the United States of America. On February 14, 2012 it became an integral part of this new found world of democracy and freedom. Along with its vast cultures and heated temperatures, the architectural design of the city is a pure reflection of the inhabitants who were established here before to make it their own homeland. This essay will examine the road to statehood and analyze the events to make Arizona become a state. The Preterritorial Period ... For 15 million, Mexico ceded more than one third of its territory and the U.S. acquired all of Arizona north of the Gila River (McClory, 2001). Unfortunately, southern Arizona still was in control by Mexico, which included Tucson. Arizona and New Mexico became one territory called the Territory of New Mexico. Soon after, the United States paid another 10 million for 30,000 square miles of the Mexican territory that included Tucson. Congress thought the purchase was meaningless because it was just desert land. The Gadsden Purchase gave the final boundary that Arizona has today. In 1860, along with the constitution, a governor and other elected officials were established. That was unfortunately short lived because of the Civil War. In 1862, Union troops entered the state and placed it under martial rule, this action further delayed Arizona s official admission as a state (McClory, 2011). The Territorial Period Congress finally pushed for Arizona to have separate territorial status because of the discovery of precious metals. On February, 24, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Organic Act, which officially created Arizona s territory (McClory, 2001). The first official governor, John Goodwin, took the oath of office on December 29, 1863. Prescott became the capital in 1864, then to Tucson (1867), then back to Prescott ... • 4. Why Did The American Colonists Have Their Rights Essay Great Britain operated colonies in America for over 150 years. Throughout this time period, the colonists governed themselves fairly and justly with little interference from Great Britain. Then, British government jumped in and suddenly started treating the colonists as a lesser people. Why did the American colonist have the rights of Englishmen? The American colonists had the rights of Englishmen because they were subjects of the British rule, and all subjects of the king or queen lived their rights as Englishmen. Even though the colonists were natives of Great Britain, which should have given them equal rights of the British, their rights were violated. The colonist s family and friends, who had just arrived from Great Britain felt as if they were stripped of their rights and treated as rebels. What ideas did colonists in America use when they formed their own governments? When forming their own government the colonists had many ideas, for example Natural Rights and Rule of Law, which were based off of different, well developed governments. The colonist s base of government was a representative government where the people choose their representatives. They also used the valuable ideas from the British documents. America Chavez Evolution The Evolution of Women throughout Comics Between the years of 1938 to 2017, traditional gender roles slowly broke down and evolved, whether it d be in politics, entertainment, or literature. To be more specific, superhero comics such as Superman (1938), Wonder Woman (1941), Fantastic Four (1961), Watchmen (1986), and America Chavez (2017), all comprised in shaping the traditional beliefs of gender roles and empowered change. At first, women weren t valued as much as males to be as equal as them but as time progressed, slowly but surely, women were able to prove that theory wrong and become just as successful as the males in the world of superheroes. It s critical to understand our past, whether it s fictional or not, in hopes for history to not be repeated again. • 8. Our Youth have Questionable Role Models from the Music... Many popular music artists today are looked up to for their songs, style, and personality. People in today s society can be easily influenced and many have role models they look up to and aspire to be. A role model has qualities that affect young kids and also adults that can lead to either positive or negative influences. This can be somewhat of a dangerous thing considering the role model the people choose. While this can be something innocent, like singing along to songs or dressing with a certain style, it can also be something negative, like bad behavior, drug, abuse, and violence. In January of 2013, Bieber was caught smoking marijuana in Newport Beach, CA. Not only was this illegal, but his fans reacted in such a deranged way of protest. They started a trend called cut4bieber on the social media site, Twitter. The young people were responding to Bieber smoking marijuana by cutting their wrists and taking pictures of their self mutilation to send to him. They were hoping this would get his attention to stop his illegal activities. It is so dark and scary how far his fans will go for him. Another incident happened in January of 2014 where he was arrested and charged for driving under the influence, drag racing, and resisting arrest without violence. After his arrest, his fans were fully supporting and standing by Bieber. They were creating a riot on the internet saying they wanted him freed from jail. The young fans kept making excuses for Bieber saying he s only 19 years old and how he s allowed to make mistakes because he s young. Forgiving drunk and reckless driving instantly just because of someone s social status is unacceptable. If another person drove drunk and put people in potential danger would these kids still start a trend on twitter to free them from jail? Probably not. They would be talking up a storm about how bad of a crime drunk driving is. Allowing Justin Bieber to get away with a potentially dangerous crime is seriously wrong. This shows ... With the perfection of these steps you will be able to drive the vehicle smoothly and efficiently. The equipment that will be needed for this process is usually the same for every vehicle. At a minimum, you will need an open lot, a hill near by, and a manual transmission vehicle. Once you get the necessary equipment, it is time to get in the driver s seat of the vehicle. • 10. Grand Nursing Theory Essay Applying Theory to a Practice Problem October 3, 2012 Introduction Our first class in the masters in nursing program, has been focused on nursing theorists. We have learned about Grand Theories, which are theories that are very broad and difficult to test and Middle Range Theories, which are also broad theories but narrow enough to be testable. We have learned how to study the different theories, looking at how we can utilize theories to evaluate practice. I have been in a nursing leadership role for many years. • 11. The Lime By Neil Gaiman Blurred Limes The lime featured in chapters eleven, twelve, and thirteen of Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman seems so misplaced it brings into speculation why it was in the book at all. The lime is first brought into the plot through Fat Charlie s taxi driver who wants to prove to Charlie that limes really do grow on the island. The lime becomes the only luggage Charlie has with him and when Charlie goes out to look for Mrs. Higgler, several strangers ask if he is the one with the lime, some even proceed to ask if he would show it to them. When Charlie returns to the hotel, the lime is there waiting for him where he left it. He decides to take the lime with him the next time he goes out, which happens to be that night. He runs into Daisy in the hotel s restaurant, and with the lime in his pocket, successfully grabs the attention of everyone in the room which in turn diverts the murderous Grahame Coats course of action. Later on, during a trip to a magical other world, Charlie asks Dragon if he s afraid of limes. The short conversation gets him out of trouble. By then Charlie doesn t have the lime with him anymore, but what he does have is the green fedora his father gives him earlier on in that trip to the magical other world. The first thing I did was to search for YouTube videos because it is an excellent choice to learn almost anything, not just instruments. YouTube not only teaches the viewers by demonstrating on how to complete a particular task, but also uses videos to help the viewers visualize what is going on. There was a variety of piano videos that were made specifically for beginners like me. There was also variation between each videos depending on who the instructor was and in which angle it was shot. Generally, I chose the videos that contained a well experienced instructor instead of an amateur, and a good camera angle that clearly showed all the piano keys. After this learning experience, I am confident that I am no longer a beginner. Although instructions from the videos were easy to follow, there were still some challenges that I encountered during my practices that could not be solved by the internet resources entirely. • 15. Jews Were Complacent During The Holocaust It is a common misconception that Jews were complacent during the Holocaust. For most people, the only knowledge, if any, about Jewish resistance during the Holocaust comes from a fictional movie, Inglourious Basterds. While certainly based on facts, Inglourious Basterds is not a good way of expelling a myth. In actuality, and despite popular belief, Jews were not complacent during the Holocaust. They performed both violent and non violent resistance against the Nazis, such as spiritual resistance, forming partisan groups, and starting uprisings and riots in many ghettos and concentration camps. Spiritual resistance is defined as attempts by individuals to maintain their humanity, personal integrity, and sense of civilization in the face of Nazi attempts to dehumanize and degrade them by the United States Holocaust Museum (Spiritual). Spiritual resistance was highly regarded by many Jews, and most actually considered it to be the purest form of resistance because it was non violent, and kept their spirits from being broken, even while facing horrible degradation. Examples of spiritual resistance include conducting religious services while in ghettos or concentration camps, keeping covert libraries of Jewish works, and establishing secret archives to report about daily life in the ghettos. The continuation of religious practices while in ghettos was most commonly conducted by Orthodox Jews because they heavily opposed violence, but religion continued in almost all ghettos ... The people of Gaza are holding each other because they are scared of the attack, while the spectators of the World Cup are shouting with passion for their team to make a pass, or score a goal. • 17. The Effects Of Controlled Burns On Rangelands The Effects of Controlled Burns on Rangelands Shane J. Methvin BYU Idaho Abstract There are many different techniques or methods used to manage rangelands. These methods have been implemented to improve the health of a rangeland. One such technique that has been found to be beneficial is controlled burning. Controlled burning can help improve rangelands for both livestock and wildlife if managed properly. This is done by burning an area which kills undesirable woody species, giving desirable, native grass species a chance to bounce back, as they can be choked out by these competing woody species. Controlled burning can also have negative effects as well if managed improperly. If controlled burns are managed properly, the overall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Such was the case in the study conducted by a Texas AgriLife Research Range ecologist (Ledbetter, 2010). The focus of this study was observing the effects of summer patch fires on the reduction of unwanted woody plants and prickly pear cacti. In this study, patches were burned rather than burning pastures as a whole to allow livestock to continue to graze in other areas simultaneously with the controlled burns. These burns took place in the summer rather than the winter because, prescribed fire in the summer is more effective in controlling unwanted woody plants and prickly pear cactus than winter fires because they burn hotter (Ledbetter, 2010). The results indicated that if controlled burning and rotational grazing are carefully managed, success in reducing the number of unwanted plants can be achieved (Ledbetter, 2010). Sometimes the public s opinion about burning rangelands and regulations can influence the ability of landowners and range managers to perform controlled burns. Many of the grasslands and areas managers wish to burn have adapted to occasional fires and native grasses can recover quite well, while unwanted woody species are reduced. Suppression of controlled burns, many times because of the public s opinion, can lead to an increase in these woody species, competing for nutrients with native grasses.
