Comparing Christianity, Judaism, And Islam
Christianity, Judaism and Islamic have many difference and similarities between them. The three
top things they all have in common is Supreme Being, Person of Jesus Christ, Ethics, and life after
death, they all believe that when you die you go to heaven or hell. but even though they all believe
in that, they believe in different ways of getting to heaven and how to get to hell. Christianitybegan
in 33 CE and was created out of the religion of Judaism. Christianity was founded on the life, and
teaching of JesusChrist and the people who follow his belief are Christians . Judaism began in 7th
century BCE and was founded in the Middle East. Many Jews believe that Abraham was seen as

They read about this in the book of the Bible, which has the old and new testaments. The Bible is
inspired by the Word of God, and the do and don t about certain things and rules, and if you break
these rules, then you have to have your sins forgiven. They believe that Jesus died on the cross
for them to live a sinless life. Judaism has a bible just like Christianity. However, their Bible is a
Hebrew Bible or the old Testament in the Christian Bible. Which that would make Judaism The
first religion and Christian is based on Christianity. Their belief in Jesus is that he did the right
thing and taught the rule of how to live a sinless life. But their values were based on the Ten
Commandments and at a young age, they were always instructed to follow the Ten
Commandments. Therefore, when they die, they will go to heaven. The difference though between
Christians and Jews is that Judaism is much stricter than Christians being that Jews are based on
the 10 Commandments, and Old Testaments and Christianity was written by the new testaments.
Islam believed that Jesus was sent by Allah to teach children the Islamic prayer and when Jesus
died (not on the cross) Allah took him to heaven to be with him. They say that people who do not
believe in the Islam prayer and rules will be punished, and they will go to

The Role Of Dante In The Divine Comedy
In The Divine Comedy, written by Dante Alighieri, Dante is tasked to voyage through Hell and
Purgatory to get to the ultimate sphere of Heaven. At the very start of his pilgrimage, he is greeted
by the shade of Virgil. Together, they go through the nine circles of Hell and climb into Purgatory,
hearing stories of the sinners along the way. Once they reach Heaven, Virgilcan no longer
accompany Dante because he has not been saved by God. Beatrice, [a] Heavenly Lady (Canto 1,
Purgatorio) takes over the guidance role and shows Dante through the levels of Heaven. At the
end, Dante is enlightened by the sight of God and is set back onto the right path of life. Virgil is
a crucial part to Dante s journey, as he serves as a guide and is an embodiment of Reason. Dante s
guide, Virgil, was a Roman poet who wrote The Aeneid, the Latin epic of the Trojan hero, Aeneas.
In the Divine Comedy, Virgil is in the first circle of Hellbecause he was born in a time before
Christ; therefore, he couldn t possibly believe in God, whether he wanted to or not. Virgil has a
distinct job in the long poem. He is sent by Lady Beatrice to guide Dante through Hell and
Purgatory. During the journey, when there are figures that try to stop their advancements through
the spheres, such as Charon at the river Acheron and Minos in the Second Circle, Virgil explains
that it is God s wish that they pass. He must teach Dante the arrangement and workings of the lower
spheres. When they climb over Satan s

The Causes Of Witchcraft
The human mind has always tried to grapple with inconsistencies, misfortunes, and differences.
Without true success, humans have pinpointed possible influences and causes of misfortunes or
tragedies within their communities. For many people in the 1600 s, witchcraft was a possible
answer to a lack of success in pinpointing the cause of tragedies. Gossip was the the primary root in
all such instances of witchcraft, weaving stories and accusations in private. These accusations of
witchcraft did not end in the 17th century, but now hide under pseudonyms such as different or
outsider in this day and age. The Lisbon sisters and Janie from The Virgin Suicides and Their
Eyes Were Watching God, respectively, are modern day examples of how gossip can catalyze
witch hunts to persecute and incite violence upon women who differ from the status quo. Janie and
the Lisbon sisters possess many characteristics often attributed to witches: sexual deviance,
religious discord, and they are each outsiders in their community. Witch craft is heavily influenced
by rumor and gossip in the sense that witchcraft would not exist without rumor and gossip to be
fear leaders in witch hunts. The fear that gossip and rumor bring about in a community often
snowballs into acts of irrevocable violence and sometimes death, as is the case in The Virgin
Suicides. Women have always been the targets of witch hunts for two main reasons: one being that
men were perceived as stronger than women, and therefore,

Operation Husky Case Study
Operation Husky marked the first time that the United States Army utilized Airborne Infantry units
in an active military operation. The 82nd Airborne Division formed the backbone of the American
airborne operations during this campaign. Initially, the 82nd s role in this operation was to land
three of its regiments, the 504th, 505th and 325th, behind enemy lines to provide assistance to the
allied forces that were taking part in the amphibious assault on the coast of Sicily. This plan was
to be implemented in three separate lifts, or successively, over the course of a few days. However,
due to poor coordination and weather during the first lift and friendly fire during the second lift, the
third lift was cancelled. Despite the initial phases of this operation being plagued by improper
preparation and poor coordination during execution, the American paratroopers created positive
effects on the German and Italian forces by creating confusion and attacking critical points of Axis
infrastructure. Of these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the course of this training period, both units were to conduct training that would prepare
them for the upcoming operation. While both units conducted rigorous training independent of one
another, instances of combined Airborne and Air training was extremely limited. Coordinated
training between the two units was limited because there was no higher command linking the two
units together. Within the article titled Report of Airborne Operations Husky and Bigot , the author
stated that the lack of a supreme command over the Airborne and Air Units, who actually are but

Iago s Disrespect In Othello
The two quote from Othello that stood out the most were, Iago is most honest (2.3.7) and Though
I do hate him as I do hell pains, yet for necessity of present life I must show out a flag and sign of
love (1.1.170 75).
Othello is known as one of many of Shakespeare s plays that involve drama, romance and tragedies.
The protagonist, Othello has a complex relationship with the antagonist, Iago. Othello, a respectful
person who is honest and seems to easily believe others. Whereas, Iago, a selfish person who has
no respect for others. Iago s disrespect is shown throughout the play. Othello and Iago both have a
different perspective for one another.
As the play progresses, Othello has shown abundant amount of respect and trust for Iago. Othello s
appreciation has been demonstrated when he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throught the beginning of the play there were some clear evidence to emphasize Iago s hatred
for Othello. It all began when Othello chose Cassio a arithmetician to be his lieutenant instead
of him[Iago] (1.1.97,125). When Iago found out he became very frustrated that a person who is
good with numbers became Othello s lieutenant. This ultimately led to his hatred towards
Othello. Iago has also shown his hatred by using animals to describe Othello. Once Iago shouts
to Brabantio calling Othello an Old black ram and Barbary horse (1.1.4 5). In an effort to trying
to provoke Brabantio about Othello sleeping with his daughter. Iago is highly offensive and racist
towards his own leader. He also loathes Othello because he suspects that Othello leaped into [his]
seat (2.1.315 20). Iago heard rumors about his leader are having affair with on his very own wife
and becomes furious. This is significant because this caused him to want to take revenge by using
Desdemona and making Othello think that she is cheating on him with Cassio. Iago s dislike
caused a lot of chaos and conflicts of the members of the

Representation of Women in Early British Literature
In most early British literature a woman is often presented as only one thing: an object. They can
be objects of desire, objects of beauty, or merely objects to be owned, but it is rare that a woman
is anything more than that. It is even more uncommon to find a female character in literature that
is presented as an equal to the men around her. In William Congreve s The Way of the World he
plays on the similarities of both his femaleand male characters to establish just how much of an
issue genderreally is because though their actions might be similar, the consequences are not. The
tangled web of relationships that connect each character in this story are what drive Congreve s
play forward. With each past affair (or current) affair that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Even a man who s character isn t as upstanding as a woman s still makes out better than her in the
end. Congreve seems to establish that women are merely at the whim of the men around them,
they do not control their own fates because they are naturally submissive. Lady Wishfort, try as
she might, cannot do anything to stop Mirabell s actions and he, therefore, comes out the
winner. The most important fact that was overlooked in class was the true nature of Mirabell
and Millamant s relationship. One question never broached in discussion was, why all the
plotting in the first place? If Mirabell truly loved Millamant like he claimed, why did he need to
fight so hard to get the money she was expecting from her aunt? There s no evident reason why
they couldn t have lived without such money or her aunt s blessing and yet it seems as if
Mirabell practically refuses to marry Millamant without her inheritance. Millamant, the female
and again the submissive one, goes along with her beloved s scheming because she loves him
and will do whatever it takes to get him to marry her. Millamant, the man, uses his dominance to
get her to agree because it seems he will only marry her if he gets her money as well. The woman
seems like a fool for only focusing on love and only gets what she wants as a result of her man s
intelligence and cunning, but he certainly wasn t just in it for the love. John

Exploring The Role Of Hipparchus In Greek Mythology
Hipparchus was born in 190 B.C. in Nicaea, Bithynia, and died in 120 B.C. Due to this , there is
not a lot information on his early life. He approximately started working as an astronomer in his
30 s. Hipparchus was best known to be an astronomer, aside from that he was also a Greek
mathematician and geographer. Most of the work that he did is now lost , but Only one work by
Hipparchus has survived, namely Commentary on Aratus and Eudoxus and this is certainly not one
of his major works. It is however important in that it gives us the only source of Hipparchus s own
writings .(1) Nevertheless, most of his research and calculations are found in Almagest by Claudius
Ptolemy, which is how mathematicians can see how he came across the beginnings of trigonometry.
First of all , one of Hipparchus greatest contributions to mathematics was the creation of the
trigonometric table , which allows to tabulate the values of some or all six of the trigonometric
functions for various angles. Additionally, he was also known for discovering the... Show more

chords, which later became a trigonometric table, which could be seen one of the first

that each side became a chord , he then originated dividing a circle into 360 degrees, same as

Self-Reliance By Philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson
In self reliance written by philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson, the author argues that, polite society
averse through one s personal growth development on becoming self reliant because today s reality
independency is based on judgments and mistakes taken in the past while society takes control of a
person s independent lifestyle.
Body Paragraph Example: Growing on becoming a successful individual human must ignore
judgments, therefore, they should learn from past actions. According to Elite Daily, life reality
commerce whether society judges or not, one is obligated on building to superior in life reality,

presents herself is an impression they will leave behind forever. For instance, a business of
processing one s life others automatically continue on making judgments about a fellow mates
appearance, personality, and capabilities. Today seeing discrimination comments over the world is
normal, for example human beings see judgments of a perfect ideal body or improved actions by
people on social media, magazines, books, and advertisements. Articles demonstrate that
individuals have control of one s lifetime story, moving, learning to survive give off a completely

Abstract:
It describes about the competitive strategies of a monopolistic market of a firm called United
Supemarkets. In a monopolistic market there are many firms producing the similar product. So it is
of utmost important to generate a product or the services so as to have a competitive advantage of
a particular firm over the another firm.In this essay I have recommended various strategies so the
firm can generate more revenue through the sale of products by following the particular strategies.
Competitive Strategy of an Organisation that operates in an Industry
Competitive strategy of an organisation involves generating a competitive advantage, increase the
loyalty of the customer and beat competitors. In short it can be said that it is a move to bring more
customers, retaining the competitive pressure and strengthen an organisation market s position.
There is a unique competitive balance between the firms in every industry. Some of the industry
have a single firm while the other have thousands of companies competing for the common product.
These composition constitute the market structure. Market structure is basically the number of
competitive firms producing the identical product.
For the present analysis of competitive strategy of an organisation, I have chosen organisation
called United Supermarkets. The company is a supermarket grocery store chain which is an

Quality Education Is The Single Most Important Factors...
Quality education is known to be one the single most important factors to developed and
developing countries alike. It is well known that countries with lower overall education standards
aren t as prosperous or as safe as countries that are on the other end of the spectrum. Implementing
educational entities such as schools alone will not show whether or not a country is doing a good
job at educationit s people. Something is needed to set standards for these educational entities, and
one idea that has become increasingly popular in schools across the globe has been the
implementation of the standardized exam; an across the board exam created to show what is
known in certain subjects. Early on in United States history, education was something that only a
select few were entitled too, but as times changed and technology progressed, education became
quite important in order for the nation to become successful. Many different schools and
educational institutions began springing up all across the United States, but one issue with this was
that all of what was being taught was going unchecked, so it was determined that there was a need
for a universal testto see what students in a certain institution, or even nation wide were actually
learning, thus the standardized testwas created in the United States. The earliest records of
institutionalized examinations date back to the Sui dynasty (581 618 CE) although the system was
fully developed during the Qing dynasty. The Chinese

Blackwell V. Blackwell Case Study Summary
The following is a case study of Blackwell v Blackwell, that is connected to the principle of Secret
Trusts and particularly Half Secret Trusts. In order for the principle to be understood, it is
significant to expatiate on what secret trusts are and the several laws revolving around them. In
general terms, a secret trustarises where a testator, A, tells B that he is leaving property to B on
his death, and that he wishes B to hold it on trust for C, even though no trust for C has been set
out in any formal will executed by A. If B agrees, when the property passes to B on A s death,
the court will enforce the secret trust despite its informality and require B to hold the property
for C. In secret trusts, two different types are recognised by the courts, one where the trustee and
the terms of the trust are not mentioned in the will, this is a fully secret trust while a half secret
trust is subject to a trust obligation which is apparent on the face of the Will, but the terms of the
trust and the identity of the beneficiary are not disclosed. The trustee is not in position to deny
the trust and can not fraudulently take the property because he is a trustee for someone. Equity
will not allow him take the property beneficially. The major difference between both is the extent
in which disclosure is made as to the recipient of the gift intends to take the property as a trustee
rather than for himself. Secret Trusts can also arise where there is no will, it may be in a case of

A Report On India s The Garden Where Plastic Bags
On a visit to India a while back I came upon a fenced empty field that was practically buried in
flimsy white throwaway plastic bags, the kind you carry your purchases home in from the store.
The locals joked that this was the garden where plastic bags grew.
But when I returned to India last month, I was pleasantly surprised to find that now when you
shop in New Delhi, no store will give you a plastic bag for your purchases. They re illegal there, as
well as in many other Indian cities and states.
That puts India well ahead of most of the world when it comes to this particular ecological issue.
Most everywhere in the U.S., for instance, the throwaway plastic bag remains the ubiquitous way
people haul their stuff home from the local store. But those bags never biodegrade into anything
that nature can use again.
Worse, the vast majority of such single use plastic items never get recycled, and even degradable
plastics may not degrade all that well. On top of that, product life cycle assessments, which are on
the verge of becoming more commonly available and used in the marketplace, do not include either
litter or biodegradability as factors.
The news on some once promising plastic alternatives is not so encouraging. A review published
last month in Environmental Science and Technology by a group of scientists one at the polymer
science division of the Indian Institute of Technology finds that degradable The news on once

Observation Of A Piglet Experiment
On the 10th of September 2017, ten little piglets that had died at birth were brought and staged
outside of Heartland Career Center in Wabash, Indiana. Over the past three weeks we have
observed and studied the dead piglets lying in the grass, cement and suspended from a pole.
Before we started the experiment, we had to answer some questions on how which piglet will
decompose faster during the experiment. There was a lot discovered about the dead piglets and
it was very interesting. Throughout this project, we had to answer questions on what we think
will happen to the piglets and make a hypothesis on what will happen through the three weeks
that we did it. Most of the questions that I had were correct with my hypothesis. One of the
questions that we had to answer was, does a piglet suspended in the air decompose at a different
rate than the one left on the ground or the cement? This was a difficult question but not too hard
because the piglets that were suspended took a long time to decompose to just bones. Differed
from the piglets in the air it took the piglets on the ground at least a week to decompose because
of the heat that we had over a weekend time period that had no observations because we weren t
at school. Over all, the piglets that were suspended in the air on a pole and the piglets on the
ground each piglet had a different reaction to everyday. Which decomposes faster, a piglet that is in
its natural state, one that is burnt, one that is buried? This was a

Marketing Plan For Product And The Managers
Second, marketing helps the business find out customer needs, use different selling plan to improve
the sale of the goods or services and then satisfy the needs. Marketing design the plan for the
product and the managers can follow the four condition, product, price, place and promotion, means
the 4Ps of marketing, to decide the final plan. Understanding the customer needs are important in
marketing. Because different type of customers have different needs. Then, customer always be the
main focus into the marketing plan (Chapman 2011, p. 125). However, before the managers decide
the marketing plan, they need to understand the six main type of market. Because choosing the
correct market is important for a product. And it affects the following part of the marketing plan,
such as decision of selling place or the plan of promotion. Then, the six types of market are resource
market, industrial market, intermediate market, consumer market, mass market, and niche market.
Those types of market are totally different and the managers need to choose it carefully when they
decide the marketing plan (Chapman 2011, p. 138 139). In addition, there are four main elements
influence the customer s buying behaviour. On psychological, the influence only affect individual,
then the buying motives, personality and personal education also affect the buying behaviour. Next,
on sociocultural, the culture of the country, customer s social class or family culture might affect
the active of buying.

Should Human Cloning Be Allowed In The USA
My topic was that I researched was Should Human Cloning be Allowed in the USA. I am for this
because it can be a medical breakthrough. I am for it because it can cure many things the people
struggle with every day. For example, I will talk about how people die from cancer and how we
can stop it. And I will also be talking about how cloning can make transplants and saves even more
people. And how humancloning can be bad and how it can affect us in the real world and how it
can affect our supplies on this world.
For example, Simon Smith from the article The Benefits of Human Cloning say, Skin for burn

Theory Analysis Essay
Notes
The ultimate goal of theory evaluation is to determine the potential of the theory to scientific
knowledge.

Ellis states that theories are insignificant if they do not generate a hypothesis of some sort (Ellis,
1968). Hardy states that a theory is made up of hypothesis derived from axioms, initial
hypothesis or postulates (Hardy, 1973). The second similarity I found between both theorists
was the characteristic of usefulness as a prime characteristic for the significance of a theory.
Ellis states that theories are not considered significant if their usefulness is not explored to
develop and guide practice (Ellis, 1968). Similarly, Hardy has a characteristic of pragmatic
adequacy, which is essentially the usefulness of a theory (Hardy, 1973). The third similarity I
found was the characteristic of information generation used in both theory evaluation approaches.
Ellis states that significant theories are capable of generating a great deal of new information
(Ellis, 1968). Hardy s characteristic of contribution to understanding is similar in that it explores
new ideas, insight, and different ways of looking at the theory (Hardy, 1973). The last similarity I
found was the shared characteristic of generality and scope. Ellis states that the broader the scope
of the theory, the greater the significance of the theory (Ellis, 1968). Similarly, Hardy believes the
more general a theory is; the more useful it is (Hardy, 1973).
I noticed a few differences between the two theorists. The first difference I noted was their views on

Hot Tub Research Paper
When the weather turns cold, conventional wisdom prescribes preparing your outdoor items for
the winter. Does that include your hot tub? According to Hot Tub Outlet, Southwest Littleton s
favorite source for premium hot tubs at affordable prices, they suggest leaving your hot tub
running throughout the winter with a few smart preparations. But the choice is ultimately yours,
and if you decide to drain it, you must take special care to winterize it properly. No matter which
option you choose, here are three things you must do for your hot tub as winter rolls around:
Check For Leaks Damage: Cracks in the hot tub can allow critters seeking refuge from the cold to
move in, which is not only a nuisance it also puts your equipment at risk. Rodents can cause

Death of a parent and the children s experience: Don t ignore the elephant in the room
The article Death of a parent and the children s experience, is a very interesting and informative
piece. The author Rachel Fearnley, gives a powerful presentation on a child s bereavement process.
Many believe that children are unable to comprehend till the later adolescences but that death of a
parent causes many developmental issues if gone unresolved. All children handle death or loss in
different ways but according her extensive studies, all age groups displayed the same
developmental issues. The studies conducted were not only with children but in how caregivers
also approached the bereavement children. The evidence from the current research would suggest
that there is a stigma attached to talking about death and dying and that practitioners find it difficult
and embarrassing to discuss such topics. This sequestration leads to a pattern of communicating
that avoids any involvement of such unmentionable vocabulary. Additionally, within social work
practice, it has been highlighted that practitioners are frequently required to talk with children
about complicated and painful issues and during uncertain times in their lives (Lefevre et al., 2008,
p. 171). The need for

Why Vietnam? appeared as part of that series in 1965 and was produced as a propaganda piece in
an effort to convince the American public that it was necessary to send troops to Vietnam. The film
begins by showing Adolf Hitler meeting with British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain in 1938.
This immediately draws a direct correlation between the communists in Vietnam and Hitler himself.
Though the comparison is not stated outright the implication is clear. It is not long before the film

American Involvement In Foreign Affairs
A Muslim immigrant shoots his two daughters to death on concerns about their western lifestyle .
The people of the United States are firm believers of this country being the land of the free. Yes,
the U.S. has problems of their own to worry about, for example the poverty and all the hate crimes
going on, but the United States has historically taken on the responsibility on aiding other countries
in need. Although people believe the U.S. should not be involved in foreign affairs, historical data
has proven that U.S. involvement with foreign affairs is beneficial because it results in economic
benefit, more allies, and larger military ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Obama administration did a good job of bolstering Jordan against chaos from Iraq and Syria
so far, but stepping back from the region could still stir up some problems with the neighboring
countries of Jordan such as Lebanon, Turkey, Tunisia, and Egypt. Although it being risky for the
United States, it may not always work to be involved in other countries because of cost and
resources that would be used to stabilize the foreign countries rather than reconstructing them. All
of these countries want and need western economic, diplomatic, technical, and military assistance,
but in order to make that happen, the U.S. needs to get rid of the root of the problem, stating that
no matter how many terrorists the United States kills, if these civil wars don t stop, more young
men will turn to terrorism (Pollack). There are urgent requests from the Yemeni government for
economic reconstruction, which is in a deadly competition with Al Quaeda (C. Chosky J. Chosky).
Hence, the United States could do a better job in foreign nations.
If the American people were at risk of a failed economy, surely American allies would come to the
rescue and help, moreover if the U.S. goes into other Nations, they gain allies along with providing
the other country aid and support. Although the United States has had a respectable amount of
experience in reconstructing countries ever since after WWII ended, the United States has not

The Sun Is The Only Star
The sun that sends out light to our world is not considered as sun in the evening; it is called as a
star in general because of its structure and history which most of the stars in the universe similarly
have. The sun is a naturally giant star that contains many elements, and magnetically sucks
everything that is close by into its body. Moreover, this almost spherical star, along with its strong
gravity, consists of the fire and lava that are made from the elements, burns and melts down all of
the small meteorites that pass by. The sunis seen to be dangerous as described, but helpful for our
planet. It brings the warmness and light to our lives, and which daytime exists, humans and

I tried look straight to the sun just for a few seconds. The outcome turned out that I was color
blind for a while. If I have starred at the sun for a minute, I would be blind for life. Another bad
example, that the atmosphere does not protect us from the sun, is our skins. The sun made every
uncovered parts of my body turn darker. When this happened, it took me months to recover my
uncovered skin to have the same color with the covered skin. I do not try to be offensive about the
protection of the atmosphere from the sun, but this is the true. The sun is dangerous, yet it also can
be very helpful and effective to our lives.
The sun allows species, such as human being, on earth to live until they are old enough to leave
and say goodbye to the material world. There is nothing that can replace the sun that is always
helping our lives and planet out of death and extinction. Other stars, indeed, have the same
function as our sun does, but they are too far away from our planet. They are just little dots that
appear during night time to make sky look pretty and fancy. Although our sun is better than other
stars at bringing light and warmness to us, it does not help us at all in the evening because it is in
the opposite side of the earth. What makes the sun disappear at one side of the earth at night and
appear at and shines the other side? That is caused by the spinning movement of our earth. Adding

kinds of rock are most susceptible to solution processes? Why? Limestone and dolomite are most
susceptible to solution processes because the water, which is slightly acidic, reacts with rock and

In an arid land, there is less precipitation than the potential evaporation which is not the case in
humid regions. 2. What is meant by an impermeable surface and how does such a surface
influence the results of rainfall in a desert? An impermeable surface cannot be penetrated by any
element. Such a surface will not allow rain to percolate into the desert soil leaving no plants
with root systems able to survive unless specifically adapted to the climate. 3. What is a basin of
interior drainage? The land is uplifted crust blocks that form parallel ranges but surface water
doesn t run to the ocean. Instead, it evaporates over time leaving a salt flat. 4. What is the
difference between an ephemeral stream and an exotic stream in a desert? An ephemeral stream
is a stream that only exists during rainfall. Exotic streams come from an origin outside of the
desert. 5. Although there is very little rainfall in deserts, running water is still the most important
process of erosion and deposition in arid environments. Describe and explain at least two special
conditions in deserts that tend to increase the likelihood of fluvial erosion whenever it does rain.
Any rainfall increases fluvial erosion. When rain does fall, this creates ephemeral streams causing
water erosion due to fast forces of water. Flash floods are possible as well creating even more
erosion. 6.

New Utopia Research Paper
The New Utopia In the New Utopia, surveillance cameras will no longer be consider an act of
violation of civil liberties or an invasion of privacy, but it will be the norm; surveillance cameras
will be consider no different than what we nowadays consider a stop sign, a traffic light, or even
the posted speed limit on the road way. To be able to stop crimes from happening, there is a need
for law enforcement officers to be able to predict that a crimewill occur in order to prevent it from
happening. As human nature, we always tend to push the limits, if we can commit a crime and
get away with it, for most that will may just be enough them to motivate them to follow through.
One hundred years ago, the thought of having traffic lights or stop signs at every intersection to
direct the movement of traffics would probably consider an act of violation of civil liberties; but
imagine if we do not have it today, there would be chaos. Having surveillance cameras doesn t
necessary prevent the crime, but it certainly reduce it to a more manageable occurrence. Just ask
ourselves, would it be better to replace each camera with a policeofficer: would that be more
effective method to deter crimes, would that be more cost effective at the same time, would that...

With the advent of Modernism in the early twentieth century, many artists and critics began
making theoretical pronouncements about their works and ideas. Using three different artists
and their writings from the Theories of Modern Art book by Herschel B. Chipp. I will study the
artist s works and ideas in relation to the role of art in their society, the role of traditional
practices in art, their view on nature versus reality, and their view on the relationship between art
and truth. The three artists and works will be the Fauvist Henri Matisse s Notes of a Painter, the
German Expressionist Franz Marc s How Does a Horse See the World? as well as Aphorism, and

Truth is always on the move. It is always somewhere, but never in the foreground, never on the
surface. Unlike Matisse, who talked about truths as challenges, Marc seems a little lost about
truth in artwork or maybe that was simply how he felt at that time. Marc s words conveyed an
elusive quality to truth, that they cannot be seen or touched so easily as Matisse implied. I think
this elusiveness is best symbolized in his Stables. In Abstract Art, Concrete Art, page 390, Jean
Arp expressed his idea of a main truth, that artists do not want to copy nature but produce it. That
they wish to create their own art directly and not have to interpret it from nature. As I was reading
it felt like Arp had a good understanding of what he believed to be the important truths in art and
he continually strived to create artwork that conveyed those ideas, as can be seen in his Birds in an

Canadians cannot simply change the color of their skin or who they are due to something others

Literature Review Of Job Satisfaction
THE RETAIL COMPANY In this report, the job satisfaction of the employees at Zara, an
international clothing retailer with 8 stores in Singapore and a worldwide profit of $14.4

job satisfaction and performance of Zara s employees. LITERATURE REVIEW WHAT IS JOB

Local and foreign labour are deemed essential to Singapore s workforce in order to sustain
competitiveness in economic development. However long standing past policy implication and
current policy taken by the Government to spur economic development, could be argued to affect
the labour market and SMEs in the long run. The past and current policies that might inflicted
negative impact to labour market and SMEs are elaborated as follow: 1) Curbing Singapore

Supply of low skilled worker especially in non PMET market would be scarce especially for
domestic service industries driven by local SMEs. SMEs normally run with small capital would

their service levels which in return force the consumers to adjust to uncertainty. The potential
growth of SMEs industry would be hampered which in return impede Singapore s economic
growth. According to Dr Chua Hak Bin, economist at Bank of Merrill Lynch, Singapore s tight
foreign labour policy could cost the economy 1.3% points of growth in 2014 which in the long run
degrade Singapore s competitive landscape with ailing domestic businesses. Besides dampening
local business competitiveness, ageing population and restricted foreign labour may lead to a lower
level of innovation. As productivity growth is associated with higher innovation and improving
technology, reports from high income OECD countries suggests that the median age of the
population is negatively correlated with total factor productivity (OECD, 2013). 4.2 BRAIN

The Effects Of Urbanization On The Human Population
The human population is continuing to increase, along with the rate of urbanization. Increasing
urbanization is ultimately unavoidable, which is potentially a major threat to the biodiversity of the
planet. Animals either must learn to adapt to a new environment, or they risk going extinct.
Squirrels are a good example of a species trying to adapt to new environments and can be used to
see the effects urbanizationhas on animals. Using a computer simulation model, squirrels living in
rural environments with natural predators can be compared to squirrels living in urban
environments, with humans as predators. Simulation results show that although natural predators
of squirrels are very low in urban environments, the populationis still negatively affected by their
interactions with humans and human construction. This simulation provides insight on the effects
of urbanization on the survival of squirrels
Introduction
As the global human population continues to increase, the amount of urbanization increases with it.
According to Jokimaki et al. (2017), global urban land cover will increase by about 30 fold in less
than 20 years. With such a change in the human population and amount of urbanization, it leaves
the question of what will happen to the amount of biodiversity and well being of all the wildlife on
the planet. An urban environment is considered one that has a high density of a human population
and buildings, and a high concentration of food, waste, water, energy, and pollution (McCleery and
Parker 2011). The habitats of animals now located in urban environments, squirrels in particular, are
being completely changed, if not destroyed, which leaves them to either go extinct, or adapt to the
ever changing scenery that is tailored to the human world. Research has shown that squirrels are
adapting to the urbanized world, however, wildlife populations in urban settings often demonstrate
different movements, physiology, habitat selection, and behaviors than those that are found in rural
settings (McCleery and Parker 2011). Their movement patterns are likely to be modified in
response to changes in environmental conditions that are brought about by urbanization (Reher et
al. 2016). Fey et al. (2016) observed

Considering the statistics, that s not surprising; as of 2012, an estimated 22 million people over

The system was rocked when the crack cocaine epidemic hit. In 1981, President Reagan enforced
stricter penalties for drug offenders, and the nation went from a system of care to a system of
criminal justice (Friedman 394). Legal consequences to broken laws are important, but the
consequence should match the crime. For instance, a few days in jail for accidentally running a
red light would be over the top. Think about how many people could potentially lose their jobs
over a traffic violation! But this is happening to many people struggling with addiction. They are
charged with possession and given a prison sentence, with lawmakers hoping the time away from
drugs will cure them. One major issue is overdose upon release. This is very dangerous to
someone in active addiction, because depending on the length of time away from the drug of
choice, the addict s tolerance level could decrease significantly. The problem lies mainly with
intravenous drug users and alcoholics, as there is a fine line between injecting or drinking to
excess to obtain a high and overdosing (Knezevich). Luckily, many prisons are recognizing this
and taking steps to keep it from happening. Offering counseling and support groups for addicts in
prison is common, but some prisons are taking a step further to curb the overdose upon release

The Industrial Revolution Of Maryland By Lewis W. Hine And...
Following the end of the American Civil war, the Industrial Revolution came rushing in and brought
with it tremendous changes the mechanization of agriculture, the invention of steam and electricity
used machinery led to mass production factories, and the emergence of a massive railroad system.
Change in the economy and society brought great wealthto the United States. Consequently, it was a
giant magnet for immigrations. However, the distribution of wealth across the population was not
even. The American working class in the last half of nineteenth century suffered from povertyand
oppression. Several documentations and stories were written in response to the people suffering.
Two of them Child Labor in The Canning Industry of Maryland by Lewis W. Hine and Maggie: A
Girl of The Streets by Stephen Cranevividly described the living and working conditions for the
working poor. In the period of 1860 1900, the majority of the working class, including native born
and immigrants, clustered in two largest industrial areas: the North East industrial cities and the
West agriculture farms. In the West, agricultures were dominated by land and railroad companies.
Although the farming industry grew simultaneously, workers life did not improve. In fact, they
faced many hardships such as severe oppression from their owners, unfair payment for their work,
and serious lack of education for their children. In his 1909 report, Lewis H. Hine revealed the

The Great War Propaganda
The Great War was not only fought with tanks, U boats, and trench warfare, but it was fought with
propaganda. Propaganda from both sides was used throughout the Great War to help try and shape
the opinions of each embattled nation. This total war did not only require strategic fighting on the
battlefield. It also required innovation and at times even deceptive propaganda. The British,
Germans and United States governments specifically, invested many of its resources into

had during the war. Propaganda during the Great War was created to serve as a boost of morale,
increase recruitment, increase involvement on the home front, sway neutral countries, and to

John Proctor As A Tragic Hero
Aristotle s definition of a classic tragic hero is a literary character who is a great man and
eventual committed an error leading to the character s own destruction. Furthermore, the character
s excessive pride causes a barricade to the character s reality, which also leads to a path of a
potential fatal outcome.John Proctor is a prime example of Aristotle s definition of a tragic hero
through his position as a successful farmer;his authoritative demeanor with other members of
the community causes a road to his fatal death. Since we built the church there were pewter

Plea Bargains
There are three types of plea bargains, the first allows the defendant to enter a plea of guilty for
fewer charges, the second may provide a lesser sentence, and the third allows the defendant to
enter a plea of guilty to one charge while all other charges will be dismissed (Bohm Haley, 2001).
There are three factors that the prosecution takes into consideration when debating a plea bargain,
the severity of the crime, the criminal record of the offender, and how strong the case is against the
offender.
The appearance of plea bargaining is it serves all parties involved in the court process, removing
the unpredictability of the time a trial may take and the ultimate outcome (Bohm Haley, 2001). The
prosecution is benefited from a plea

Fresh Fruit, Broken Bodies By Seth Holmes
When thinking of Mexican American immigrants what comes to mind? The American public
consistently listens to the media telling stories of how these people cross the border illegally,
which is deemed as a crime. Immigrants are portrayed just as stealing American jobs and
benefiting from government programs such as welfare. Countless people think it was a
voluntary action for them to come to the United State, therefore whatever comes their way is
what they deserve regardless if it is health problems, racism or low paying jobs. However, what
most of American people don t realize is that the majority of Mexican migrants are forced to
migrate to the United State in order to survive. They constantly risk their lives to cross a
dangerous border in order to find the jobs that the American people don t want to endure. In the
book called Fresh Fruit, Broken Bodies , the author, Seth Holmes focuses on the lives of an
indigenous Mexican group called the Triquis. Throughout the book, he focuses on the journey of
the group from their hometown of Oaxaca to farms in California and Washington. The book also
emphasizes how racism and health problems of migrant workers have become invisible to the
American people. It is commonly seen that their personal damage such as health problems and
placement on the social hierarchy system is only to be blamed on their sole decision to come to a
country where they are considered illegal. Instead of blaming the Triqui people for their sickness,

Education Is The Best For My Life
There are an infinite amount of professions in the world, ranging from neurosurgeons, to taxi
drivers, to chefs. The ultimate goal is to choose the one profession that is the best suited for you
and will result in a happy, comfortable lifestyle. In the process of deciding what I wanted to do
for the rest of my life, I ran into a seemingly large problem; I changed my mind every day. I soon
realized, that it was normal for a teenager to change their mind all the time. This is because we are
still learning. As we grow and learn new things, our interests and personalities change accordingly.
We learn what we really enjoy as well as things that we don t enjoy so much. Educationis what
shapes us into who we are today. However, education does not end when we graduate from high
schoolor college. In fact, education never ends at all. For every second that our heart is beating,
our brains are learning. Upon realizing what a significant role education plays in our lives, I
decided that I want to spend the rest of my life in the classroom, educating and influencing the
lives of young children. It is commonly said that we are a product of our environment. If there is
any truth to this statement, then my decision was definitely the right decision. Most children walk
into a classroom and feel intimidated or out of place, but this has never been the case for me.
Since I can remember, I have felt a sense of comfort in the classroom setting. With my mother being
a teacher, she entered me

Rates of Violence
Rates of Violence Introduction Crime, according to Emile Durkheim, is a normal component of
society. The iconic psychologist said that in the 19th century. But crime is considered abnormal
in England, the United States, and in Canada; this paper presents data on the three nations
mentioned above. United States Murder: According to the FBI, there were an estimated 14,748
individuals murdered in 2010 in the U.S., which is down by 4.2 percent from 2009. There were
4.8 murders per 100,000 inhabitants and 44 percent of the murders took place in the South, 20.6
percent in the West, 19.9 percent in the Midwest and 15.6 percent in the Northeast. Aggravated
Assault: Also in 2010, there were an estimated 778,901 aggravated assaults in the United States,
the FBI reports. That is a decline by 4.1 percent from the year 2009, and a decline of 14.3 percent
from 2001. There were approximately 252.3 assaults per 100,000 people and 27.4 percent were
carried out with hands, fists, or feet ; 20.6 percent were committed using firearms; 19 percent
were committed with knives or other cutting instruments, the FBI reports. Forcible Rape: the
FBI report indicates an estimated 84,767 forcible rapes were reported in 2010, down 5 percent from
2009. There were 54.2 rapes per 100,000 females. Robbery: As to robberies in 2010, the FBI
estimates there were 367,832 robberies, that is down 10 percent from the data in 2009. There was
one robbery per 100,000 inhabitants. England Murder: The

The Naciremas Rituals
Recently, it has been discovered that there is a strange new group of people that is located roughly
between Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. This group of people is called the Naciremas. These natives
have been around for roughly two hundred years and not much has been discovered about this
exotic natives. Only one study was done about this group of native by Professor Linton and still
little is known about them; however, only one thing is certain, that their sole purpose of living is
spiritual ceremonies and rituals. Professor Linton had studied the body rituals among the
Naciremas and found that they have the fundamental belief underlying the whole system appears to
be that the human body is ugly and that its natural tendency is to debility

Understanding Child and Young Person s Development
Unit 3 Understand Child and Young Person s Development
All children are unique and a lot of their developmental milestones happen naturally as they get
older, however some can be affected by different life factors, such as health, environment and
background and more specific skills can be learnt and encouraged. There is an expected pattern of
development but all children are individual and therefore the rate will vary.
There are four categories of development:
Physical Development (Birth 1 year) The development of control over one s own body in both
gross and fine motor skills is the infant s primary physical task, culminating toward the end of the
first year in walking.
(1 2 years) The infant perfects the gross ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(6 11 years) The child is industrious, purposeful, and goal directed in their activities. They are
confident and self directed.
The child is developing a better sense of themselves as an individual, with likes and dislikes and
special areas of skill.
The child evaluates their worth by their ability to perform. Self esteem is largely derived from one
s perceived abilities.
(12 19 years) The early adolescent is strongly identified with the peer group. They depend upon
their peers for emotional stability and support and to help mould their emerging identity. Self
esteem is greatly affected by acceptance of peers.
Adolescents will suffer frequent mood swings. They are very vulnerable to emotional stress.
Factors that affect development:
Diet
A child s diet makes a difference to growth and well being. A good diet makes a difference to a
child s ability to concentrate and therefore to learn.
Sleep
Sleep is important to a child s development. It is vital for cognitive function and growth to take
place. Tiredness will affect a child s relationships with other as they will be unable to control their
emotions and behaviour.
Stimulation
Stimulation is vital in all age groups in order for their brain to develop and to create opportunities
to physically use their body. Children will achieve these by playing, trying new tastes, meeting
others and learning new skills.
Environment
The environment in which a child grows up can

Karen Horney Was One Of The First Noted Female Psychoanalyst
Karen Horney was one of the first noted female psychoanalyst theorist who, along with Alfred
Adler, formed the Neo Freudian discipline. She did not agree that individuals are ruled by their
repressed sexual passions and with many of Freud s other theories. Her theory on personality put
more emphasis on the individual s childhood experiences and the social and cultural aspects that
affect them. In order to explain a person s personality, Horney developed the theory of neurosis.
In it she listed the ten basic neurotic needs, how people coped with life, and she looked at self
realization versus self idealization . We can use Horney s theory to examine the personality of the
recently elected president, Donald Trump. The 2016 election... Show more content on

But it is reported that during those years Donald still got into fights with other students and was
angry or aggressive at times. Donald worked for his father s construction company during the
summers and went on to Fordham University and then transferred to the University of
Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a degree in economics in 1968. After he graduated he
joined the family business and moved to Manhattan where he tried to grow it beyond what his
father had done. Using Horney s theory we can examine the early years of Trump s life. Of the
ten basic neurotic needs Trump strongly shows the need for power, the need for social
recognition, and the need for personal achievement (Horney, 1942). As Horney s theory
emphasizes childhood experiences, we can see how a child who grew up in a big family that
was affluent would want power and social recognition. He grew up needing to compete with his
siblings for his parents attention and by watching his father he believed that success in his
career was the best way to achieve personal success. Lots of Trump s actions pointed to him
trying to fill his need for social recognition: he was a star athlete, a student leader, and he was
known for being cocky. In Horney s book, Neurosis and Human Growth, she says feeling at bottom
isolated and hostile he can only develop an urge to need to lift

Faith And Authentic Faith
Fellowship and Community are fundamental elements to the traditional Christian view attitude, by
the fact that the role of the Church is to bring people together and provides them with a sanctuary to
express their beliefs. There is a psychological explanation for this, that we are at a lesser stage of
anxiety when we seek for belonging and acceptances from others, thus Kierkegaard argues that this
leads to complacency. Kierkegaard further argues that Authentic faith is an active faith in that the
movements of faith are chosen again and again, thus Active faith is for the individual in their own
solitude. Inauthentic faith is inactive and complacent, therefore complacent faith is faith for
comfort s sake and not faith in its truest sense. Hence, comfort comes from the community, that of
the Church and the concept that others believe what oneself also believes. To belief in the
impossible is not really a traditional Christian... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The absolute duty can then lead to what the universal ethical would forbid; this is observed with
Abraham when he seems willing to sacrifice Isaac as he displays the universally ethical expression
for what he is doing; that of hate. But, if Abraham did indeed truly hate Isaac, then it would not be
necessary for God to have requested this of Abraham. It is indeed due, to Abraham s unconditional
love for his only son Isaac, that makes his actions appear to be a sacrifice. The sorrow and aguish
in this paradox of faith, is what makes Abraham incapable of making himself fully understood, to

Seamus Heaney s Blackberry-Picking
We all have childhood memories that we can reflect on and feel a sense of happiness, but some
memories we can look back in disgust at the competency we had as children through silly
accomplishments that we had been praised for. In Blackberry Picking, by Seamus Heaney uses
symbolism and diction to suggest power and repugnance as the poem s tone as a means to
emphasize the narrator s success that he felt while picking blackberries, as well as compare the
gruesomeness of Bluebeard to the senses brought forth by the harvesting of the first blackberry.
The author writes about the narrator eating the blackberries using gruesome words such as, clot,
flesh, and blood, to give the reader a negative connotation towards the taste and texture of the
berries. Heaney compares the hands of the children to Bluebeard, a fairy tale character who
killed all of his wives; he uses references to gore to exemplify the comparison between Bluebeard
and the berries that stain the narrator s hands. When the author describes the berries using blood,
it can be seen as foreshadow towards the grim story of Bluebeard, as well as the words: clot and
flesh, which are used to depict the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

They believe that Jesus died on the cross for them to live a sinless life. Judaism has a bible just like Christianity. However, their Bible is a Hebrew Bible or the old Testament in the Christian Bible. Which that would make Judaism The first religion and Christian is based on Christianity. Their belief in Jesus is that he did the right thing and taught the rule of how to live a sinless life. But their values were based on the Ten Commandments and at a young age, they were always instructed to follow the Ten Commandments. Therefore, when they die, they will go to heaven. The difference though between Christians and Jews is that Judaism is much stricter than Christians being that Jews are based on the 10 Commandments, and Old Testaments and Christianity was written by the new testaments. • 3. The Role Of Dante In The Divine Comedy In The Divine Comedy, written by Dante Alighieri, Dante is tasked to voyage through Hell and Purgatory to get to the ultimate sphere of Heaven. At the very start of his pilgrimage, he is greeted by the shade of Virgil. Together, they go through the nine circles of Hell and climb into Purgatory, hearing stories of the sinners along the way. Once they reach Heaven, Virgilcan no longer accompany Dante because he has not been saved by God. Beatrice, [a] Heavenly Lady (Canto 1, Purgatorio) takes over the guidance role and shows Dante through the levels of Heaven. At the end, Dante is enlightened by the sight of God and is set back onto the right path of life. Virgil is a crucial part to Dante s journey, as he serves as a guide and is an embodiment of Reason. Dante s guide, Virgil, was a Roman poet who wrote The Aeneid, the Latin epic of the Trojan hero, Aeneas. In the Divine Comedy, Virgil is in the first circle of Hellbecause he was born in a time before Christ; therefore, he couldn t possibly believe in God, whether he wanted to or not. Virgil has a distinct job in the long poem. He is sent by Lady Beatrice to guide Dante through Hell and Purgatory. During the journey, when there are figures that try to stop their advancements through the spheres, such as Charon at the river Acheron and Minos in the Second Circle, Virgil explains that it is God s wish that they pass. He must teach Dante the arrangement and workings of the lower spheres. When they climb over Satan s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Causes Of Witchcraft The human mind has always tried to grapple with inconsistencies, misfortunes, and differences. Without true success, humans have pinpointed possible influences and causes of misfortunes or tragedies within their communities. For many people in the 1600 s, witchcraft was a possible answer to a lack of success in pinpointing the cause of tragedies. Gossip was the the primary root in all such instances of witchcraft, weaving stories and accusations in private. These accusations of witchcraft did not end in the 17th century, but now hide under pseudonyms such as different or outsider in this day and age. The Lisbon sisters and Janie from The Virgin Suicides and Their Eyes Were Watching God, respectively, are modern day examples of how gossip can catalyze witch hunts to persecute and incite violence upon women who differ from the status quo. Janie and the Lisbon sisters possess many characteristics often attributed to witches: sexual deviance, religious discord, and they are each outsiders in their community. Witch craft is heavily influenced by rumor and gossip in the sense that witchcraft would not exist without rumor and gossip to be fear leaders in witch hunts. The fear that gossip and rumor bring about in a community often snowballs into acts of irrevocable violence and sometimes death, as is the case in The Virgin Suicides. Women have always been the targets of witch hunts for two main reasons: one being that men were perceived as stronger than women, and therefore, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Operation Husky Case Study Operation Husky marked the first time that the United States Army utilized Airborne Infantry units in an active military operation. The 82nd Airborne Division formed the backbone of the American airborne operations during this campaign. Initially, the 82nd s role in this operation was to land three of its regiments, the 504th, 505th and 325th, behind enemy lines to provide assistance to the allied forces that were taking part in the amphibious assault on the coast of Sicily. This plan was to be implemented in three separate lifts, or successively, over the course of a few days. However, due to poor coordination and weather during the first lift and friendly fire during the second lift, the third lift was cancelled. Despite the initial phases of this operation being plagued by improper preparation and poor coordination during execution, the American paratroopers created positive effects on the German and Italian forces by creating confusion and attacking critical points of Axis infrastructure. • 7. Representation of Women in Early British Literature In most early British literature a woman is often presented as only one thing: an object. They can be objects of desire, objects of beauty, or merely objects to be owned, but it is rare that a woman is anything more than that. It is even more uncommon to find a female character in literature that is presented as an equal to the men around her. In William Congreve s The Way of the World he plays on the similarities of both his femaleand male characters to establish just how much of an issue genderreally is because though their actions might be similar, the consequences are not. The tangled web of relationships that connect each character in this story are what drive Congreve s play forward. With each past affair (or current) affair that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even a man who s character isn t as upstanding as a woman s still makes out better than her in the end. Congreve seems to establish that women are merely at the whim of the men around them, they do not control their own fates because they are naturally submissive. Lady Wishfort, try as she might, cannot do anything to stop Mirabell s actions and he, therefore, comes out the winner. The most important fact that was overlooked in class was the true nature of Mirabell and Millamant s relationship. One question never broached in discussion was, why all the plotting in the first place? If Mirabell truly loved Millamant like he claimed, why did he need to fight so hard to get the money she was expecting from her aunt? There s no evident reason why they couldn t have lived without such money or her aunt s blessing and yet it seems as if Mirabell practically refuses to marry Millamant without her inheritance. Millamant, the female and again the submissive one, goes along with her beloved s scheming because she loves him and will do whatever it takes to get him to marry her. Millamant, the man, uses his dominance to get her to agree because it seems he will only marry her if he gets her money as well. The woman seems like a fool for only focusing on love and only gets what she wants as a result of her man s intelligence and cunning, but he certainly wasn t just in it for the love. John ... He approximately started working as an astronomer in his 30 s. Hipparchus was best known to be an astronomer, aside from that he was also a Greek mathematician and geographer. It is however important in that it gives us the only source of Hipparchus s own writings .(1) Nevertheless, most of his research and calculations are found in Almagest by Claudius Ptolemy, which is how mathematicians can see how he came across the beginnings of trigonometry. • 11. Quality Education Is The Single Most Important Factors... Quality education is known to be one the single most important factors to developed and developing countries alike. It is well known that countries with lower overall education standards aren t as prosperous or as safe as countries that are on the other end of the spectrum. Implementing educational entities such as schools alone will not show whether or not a country is doing a good job at educationit s people. Something is needed to set standards for these educational entities, and one idea that has become increasingly popular in schools across the globe has been the implementation of the standardized exam; an across the board exam created to show what is known in certain subjects. Early on in United States history, education was something that only a select few were entitled too, but as times changed and technology progressed, education became quite important in order for the nation to become successful. Many different schools and educational institutions began springing up all across the United States, but one issue with this was that all of what was being taught was going unchecked, so it was determined that there was a need for a universal testto see what students in a certain institution, or even nation wide were actually learning, thus the standardized testwas created in the United States. The earliest records of institutionalized examinations date back to the Sui dynasty (581 618 CE) although the system was fully developed during the Qing dynasty. The Chinese ... • 12. Blackwell V. Blackwell Case Study Summary The following is a case study of Blackwell v Blackwell, that is connected to the principle of Secret Trusts and particularly Half Secret Trusts. In order for the principle to be understood, it is significant to expatiate on what secret trusts are and the several laws revolving around them. In general terms, a secret trustarises where a testator, A, tells B that he is leaving property to B on his death, and that he wishes B to hold it on trust for C, even though no trust for C has been set out in any formal will executed by A. If B agrees, when the property passes to B on A s death, the court will enforce the secret trust despite its informality and require B to hold the property for C. In secret trusts, two different types are recognised by the courts, one where the trustee and the terms of the trust are not mentioned in the will, this is a fully secret trust while a half secret trust is subject to a trust obligation which is apparent on the face of the Will, but the terms of the trust and the identity of the beneficiary are not disclosed. The trustee is not in position to deny the trust and can not fraudulently take the property because he is a trustee for someone. Equity will not allow him take the property beneficially. The major difference between both is the extent in which disclosure is made as to the recipient of the gift intends to take the property as a trustee rather than for himself. Secret Trusts can also arise where there is no will, it may be in a case of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. A Report On India s The Garden Where Plastic Bags On a visit to India a while back I came upon a fenced empty field that was practically buried in flimsy white throwaway plastic bags, the kind you carry your purchases home in from the store. The locals joked that this was the garden where plastic bags grew. But when I returned to India last month, I was pleasantly surprised to find that now when you shop in New Delhi, no store will give you a plastic bag for your purchases. They re illegal there, as well as in many other Indian cities and states. That puts India well ahead of most of the world when it comes to this particular ecological issue. Most everywhere in the U.S., for instance, the throwaway plastic bag remains the ubiquitous way people haul their stuff home from the local store. But those bags never biodegrade into anything that nature can use again. Worse, the vast majority of such single use plastic items never get recycled, and even degradable plastics may not degrade all that well. On top of that, product life cycle assessments, which are on the verge of becoming more commonly available and used in the marketplace, do not include either litter or biodegradability as factors. • 14. Observation Of A Piglet Experiment On the 10th of September 2017, ten little piglets that had died at birth were brought and staged outside of Heartland Career Center in Wabash, Indiana. Over the past three weeks we have observed and studied the dead piglets lying in the grass, cement and suspended from a pole. Before we started the experiment, we had to answer some questions on how which piglet will decompose faster during the experiment. There was a lot discovered about the dead piglets and it was very interesting. Throughout this project, we had to answer questions on what we think will happen to the piglets and make a hypothesis on what will happen through the three weeks that we did it. Most of the questions that I had were correct with my hypothesis. One of the questions that we had to answer was, does a piglet suspended in the air decompose at a different rate than the one left on the ground or the cement? This was a difficult question but not too hard because the piglets that were suspended took a long time to decompose to just bones. Differed from the piglets in the air it took the piglets on the ground at least a week to decompose because of the heat that we had over a weekend time period that had no observations because we weren t at school. Over all, the piglets that were suspended in the air on a pole and the piglets on the ground each piglet had a different reaction to everyday. Which decomposes faster, a piglet that is in its natural state, one that is burnt, one that is buried? This was a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ellis states that theories are insignificant if they do not generate a hypothesis of some sort (Ellis, 1968). Hardy states that a theory is made up of hypothesis derived from axioms, initial hypothesis or postulates (Hardy, 1973). The second similarity I found between both theorists was the characteristic of usefulness as a prime characteristic for the significance of a theory. Ellis states that theories are not considered significant if their usefulness is not explored to develop and guide practice (Ellis, 1968). Similarly, Hardy has a characteristic of pragmatic adequacy, which is essentially the usefulness of a theory (Hardy, 1973). The third similarity I found was the characteristic of information generation used in both theory evaluation approaches. Ellis states that significant theories are capable of generating a great deal of new information (Ellis, 1968). Hardy s characteristic of contribution to understanding is similar in that it explores new ideas, insight, and different ways of looking at the theory (Hardy, 1973). The last similarity I found was the shared characteristic of generality and scope. Ellis states that the broader the scope of the theory, the greater the significance of the theory (Ellis, 1968). Similarly, Hardy believes the more general a theory is; the more useful it is (Hardy, 1973). I noticed a few differences between the two theorists. The first difference I noted was their views on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The author Rachel Fearnley, gives a powerful presentation on a child s bereavement process. Many believe that children are unable to comprehend till the later adolescences but that death of a parent causes many developmental issues if gone unresolved. All children handle death or loss in different ways but according her extensive studies, all age groups displayed the same developmental issues. The studies conducted were not only with children but in how caregivers also approached the bereavement children. The evidence from the current research would suggest that there is a stigma attached to talking about death and dying and that practitioners find it difficult and embarrassing to discuss such topics. This sequestration leads to a pattern of communicating that avoids any involvement of such unmentionable vocabulary. Additionally, within social work practice, it has been highlighted that practitioners are frequently required to talk with children about complicated and painful issues and during uncertain times in their lives (Lefevre et al., 2008, p. 171). • 34. The Effects Of Urbanization On The Human Population The human population is continuing to increase, along with the rate of urbanization. Increasing urbanization is ultimately unavoidable, which is potentially a major threat to the biodiversity of the planet. Animals either must learn to adapt to a new environment, or they risk going extinct. Squirrels are a good example of a species trying to adapt to new environments and can be used to see the effects urbanizationhas on animals. Using a computer simulation model, squirrels living in rural environments with natural predators can be compared to squirrels living in urban environments, with humans as predators. Simulation results show that although natural predators of squirrels are very low in urban environments, the populationis still negatively affected by their interactions with humans and human construction. This simulation provides insight on the effects of urbanization on the survival of squirrels Introduction As the global human population continues to increase, the amount of urbanization increases with it. According to Jokimaki et al. (2017), global urban land cover will increase by about 30 fold in less than 20 years. With such a change in the human population and amount of urbanization, it leaves the question of what will happen to the amount of biodiversity and well being of all the wildlife on the planet. An urban environment is considered one that has a high density of a human population and buildings, and a high concentration of food, waste, water, energy, and pollution (McCleery and Parker 2011). The habitats of animals now located in urban environments, squirrels in particular, are being completely changed, if not destroyed, which leaves them to either go extinct, or adapt to the ever changing scenery that is tailored to the human world. Research has shown that squirrels are adapting to the urbanized world, however, wildlife populations in urban settings often demonstrate different movements, physiology, habitat selection, and behaviors than those that are found in rural settings (McCleery and Parker 2011). Their movement patterns are likely to be modified in response to changes in environmental conditions that are brought about by urbanization (Reher et al. 2016). Fey et al. (2016) observed ... They are charged with possession and given a prison sentence, with lawmakers hoping the time away from drugs will cure them. One major issue is overdose upon release. This is very dangerous to someone in active addiction, because depending on the length of time away from the drug of choice, the addict s tolerance level could decrease significantly. If my campaign becomes successful and I get elected, then the three committees that I would serve would be Criminal Jurisprudence, Human Services, and Environmental Regulation. To begin with, the Criminal Jurisprudence functions as a committee that shall have nine members. It is applicable in legal decisions like penalties, criminal law, probation, revision ... Since, there are limited amounts of officials in a particular committee, likely thoughts during a meeting would draw more attention in a certain interest group. The voter groups are the one who has the highest expectation towards their elected member. It is first important to analyze the problems in a community to provide service for the voters. Anyone could be a victim of the agenda that I got elected for, i.e. crimes, health and environmental suffrage. The constituent services that I would do for the voters is by adhering to make the surrounding a safer area or strict security, confirming insured people, and creating a green act movement to save our atmosphere from any kind of degradation. In addition, I would also specifically focus on high profile cases like crimes so that the voters would be benefited with all the basic needs to sustain as a secure human being. About creating a homestyle , I would prefer something that would influence my voters for reelection and, also build a trust in them by implementing the ideas presented before the election. It often happens when the elected leader fails to accomplish their goals which makes their voters to distrust the political leaders. So, I would focus my district s agenda very strictly by setting up a town meeting, planning in every perspective and mainly implementing the discussed issues. It is very important to be physically available in the area of need, providing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Plea Bargains There are three types of plea bargains, the first allows the defendant to enter a plea of guilty for fewer charges, the second may provide a lesser sentence, and the third allows the defendant to enter a plea of guilty to one charge while all other charges will be dismissed (Bohm Haley, 2001). There are three factors that the prosecution takes into consideration when debating a plea bargain, the severity of the crime, the criminal record of the offender, and how strong the case is against the offender. The appearance of plea bargaining is it serves all parties involved in the court process, removing the unpredictability of the time a trial may take and the ultimate outcome (Bohm Haley, 2001). • 43. Fresh Fruit, Broken Bodies By Seth Holmes When thinking of Mexican American immigrants what comes to mind? The American public consistently listens to the media telling stories of how these people cross the border illegally, which is deemed as a crime. Immigrants are portrayed just as stealing American jobs and benefiting from government programs such as welfare. Countless people think it was a voluntary action for them to come to the United State, therefore whatever comes their way is what they deserve regardless if it is health problems, racism or low paying jobs. However, what most of American people don t realize is that the majority of Mexican migrants are forced to migrate to the United State in order to survive. They constantly risk their lives to cross a dangerous border in order to find the jobs that the American people don t want to endure. In the book called Fresh Fruit, Broken Bodies , the author, Seth Holmes focuses on the lives of an indigenous Mexican group called the Triquis. Throughout the book, he focuses on the journey of the group from their hometown of Oaxaca to farms in California and Washington. The book also emphasizes how racism and health problems of migrant workers have become invisible to the American people. It is commonly seen that their personal damage such as health problems and placement on the social hierarchy system is only to be blamed on their sole decision to come to a country where they are considered illegal. Instead of blaming the Triqui people for their sickness, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Education Is The Best For My Life There are an infinite amount of professions in the world, ranging from neurosurgeons, to taxi drivers, to chefs. The ultimate goal is to choose the one profession that is the best suited for you and will result in a happy, comfortable lifestyle. In the process of deciding what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, I ran into a seemingly large problem; I changed my mind every day. I soon realized, that it was normal for a teenager to change their mind all the time. This is because we are still learning. As we grow and learn new things, our interests and personalities change accordingly. We learn what we really enjoy as well as things that we don t enjoy so much. Educationis what shapes us into who we are today. However, education does not end when we graduate from high schoolor college. In fact, education never ends at all. For every second that our heart is beating, our brains are learning. Upon realizing what a significant role education plays in our lives, I decided that I want to spend the rest of my life in the classroom, educating and influencing the lives of young children. It is commonly said that we are a product of our environment. If there is any truth to this statement, then my decision was definitely the right decision. Most children walk into a classroom and feel intimidated or out of place, but this has never been the case for me. Since I can remember, I have felt a sense of comfort in the classroom setting. With my mother being a teacher, she entered me ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. Karen Horney Was One Of The First Noted Female Psychoanalyst Karen Horney was one of the first noted female psychoanalyst theorist who, along with Alfred Adler, formed the Neo Freudian discipline. She did not agree that individuals are ruled by their repressed sexual passions and with many of Freud s other theories. Her theory on personality put more emphasis on the individual s childhood experiences and the social and cultural aspects that affect them. In order to explain a person s personality, Horney developed the theory of neurosis. In it she listed the ten basic neurotic needs, how people coped with life, and she looked at self realization versus self idealization . We can use Horney s theory to examine the personality of the recently elected president, Donald Trump. The 2016 election... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But it is reported that during those years Donald still got into fights with other students and was angry or aggressive at times. Donald worked for his father s construction company during the summers and went on to Fordham University and then transferred to the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a degree in economics in 1968. After he graduated he joined the family business and moved to Manhattan where he tried to grow it beyond what his father had done. Using Horney s theory we can examine the early years of Trump s life. Of the ten basic neurotic needs Trump strongly shows the need for power, the need for social recognition, and the need for personal achievement (Horney, 1942). As Horney s theory emphasizes childhood experiences, we can see how a child who grew up in a big family that was affluent would want power and social recognition. He grew up needing to compete with his siblings for his parents attention and by watching his father he believed that success in his career was the best way to achieve personal success. Lots of Trump s actions pointed to him trying to fill his need for social recognition: he was a star athlete, a student leader, and he was known for being cocky. In Horney s book, Neurosis and Human Growth, she says feeling at bottom isolated and hostile he can only develop an urge to need to lift ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. Faith And Authentic Faith Fellowship and Community are fundamental elements to the traditional Christian view attitude, by the fact that the role of the Church is to bring people together and provides them with a sanctuary to express their beliefs. There is a psychological explanation for this, that we are at a lesser stage of anxiety when we seek for belonging and acceptances from others, thus Kierkegaard argues that this leads to complacency. Kierkegaard further argues that Authentic faith is an active faith in that the movements of faith are chosen again and again, thus Active faith is for the individual in their own solitude. Inauthentic faith is inactive and complacent, therefore complacent faith is faith for comfort s sake and not faith in its truest sense. Hence, comfort comes from the community, that of the Church and the concept that others believe what oneself also believes. To belief in the impossible is not really a traditional Christian... • 51. Seamus Heaney s Blackberry-Picking We all have childhood memories that we can reflect on and feel a sense of happiness, but some memories we can look back in disgust at the competency we had as children through silly accomplishments that we had been praised for. In Blackberry Picking, by Seamus Heaney uses symbolism and diction to suggest power and repugnance as the poem s tone as a means to emphasize the narrator s success that he felt while picking blackberries, as well as compare the gruesomeness of Bluebeard to the senses brought forth by the harvesting of the first blackberry. The author writes about the narrator eating the blackberries using gruesome words such as, clot, flesh, and blood, to give the reader a negative connotation towards the taste and texture of the berries. Heaney compares the hands of the children to Bluebeard, a fairy tale character who killed all of his wives; he uses references to gore to exemplify the comparison between Bluebeard and the berries that stain the narrator s hands. When the author describes the berries using blood, it can be seen as foreshadow towards the grim story of Bluebeard, as well as the words: clot and flesh, which are used to depict the...
