Analysis Of C. Christine Fair And Bryan Shepherd s...
C. Christine Fair and Bryan Shepherd s research note explores the different aspects upon demand
for terrorism (also known as support) to address empirical lacunae in exploring detailed
demographic and psychographic variables among fourteen countries with predominantly Muslim
populations or with large Muslim minorities in 2002. Whereas many of previous researchfocused
upon the supply of terrorist work force and the shared characteristics of terrorists, the present
research note represents a quantitative effort to understand the segments of the demand for
terrorism. The research note design follows this logic: Introduction and Motivation for this
Research; Data and Methodology; Descriptive Statistics, Regression Analyses; Conclusion and...

The following list presents the 14 countries analyzed by the researchers upon the support for
terrorism: Bangladesh; Ghana; Indonesia; Ivory Coast; Jordan; Lebanon; Mali; Nigeria; Pakistan;
Senegal; Tanzania; Turkey; Uganda and Uzbekistan. The authors highlight the fact that the survey
reflects a reality change following the 9/11 but does not reflect the public opinion about US led
military actions in Iraq for the reason that the Pew Institute conducted and completed the country
surveys between July 2002 and October 2002 while the US led operations started in March 2003. C.
Christine Fair and Bryan Shepherd describe and explain the methodology employed by the Pew
Institute to collect data among the countries with large Muslim populations. The survey collected
several kinds of data about the respondent but; since the phrasing of the question relates to all
varieties of attacks against civilian targets instead of primarily emphasis suicide terrorism; it
appears that the survey itself presents a limitation in assessing the support for terrorism. The
research note presents another limitation when the authors refer to the Depravation theory without
defining it. They use the theory to explain the relationship between economic variables and to
describe the correlation with the research, but they fail

Goose Hollow Reflection
For my neighborhood study of Goose Hollow, I completed a research project to answer my
research question, What is day to day life like in Goose Hollow? . This paper will reveal the story
of my data through showing common themes between my research team s data to highlight
noticeable conclusions drawn from my research methodologies.
In analyzing my data, it is important to note my positionality. I am a nineteen year old female
college student living in a downtown area of a city. I identify as being middle class, Jewish,
heterosexual, and Latina. These key aspects of identity were important to take into consideration
while collecting and analyzing my data because it can affect interpretation. For my research in
Goose Hollow specifically, my social location as a middle class Latina was the most relevant. An
awareness of the tensions inherent in research, and reflection on these tensions is important
(McAullffe and Coleman, 2008, pg. 26). Being aware of my social location and following the
ethics and protocol necessary in a research project, allowed me to be reflexive during my study.
When making conclusions about my data to determine the narrative, I looked at how every research
methodology contributed to the themes of my neighborhood. In the very act of constructing data
out of experience, the qualitative researcher singles out some things as worthy of note and
relegates others to the background (Wolcott, 1994, pg. 13). For the purpose of my paper, I chose
to focus on two themes but that does not discredit the rest of my data. The two themes that
appeared in all the data shared between my research team, were the ideas that Goose Hollow
serves as an in between place for people trying to get from point A to point B and the active
gentrification present in the neighborhood. To begin, I focused on participant observation
methodology. The physical location and businesses of Goose Hollow makes it a convenient place
for people to stop. The grab and go pizza place, Starbucks, corner store, and many modes of
transportation make it a hub for commuters in their day to day life. When analyzing my group s
data, a considerable amount of instances relating to transportation were observed. Ellen Koukel
observed the MAX

Crystal Research Paper
Crystal Research Paper
A crystal is made up of the same materials that a regular glass is made of, such as silica, soda, and
lime, but the addition of lead oxide is what gives crystals their shine. A bead has to have 24%
lead oxide added to qualify as leaded crystal. Contrary to the popular belief, crystals have been
around for a long time. Ancient Egypt, Rome, and other groups have all used crystals for various
purposes. It was used in medicine, magic and rituals, as offerings and currency, as well as
important gifts and items of beauty. Ancient civilizations were able to use crystals because natural
crystals are dug from the ground where earth s temperature and pressure causes them to form.
However, one can make a crystal at home. It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Generally, heterogeneous nucleation takes place more quickly since the foreign particles act as a
place or structure for the crystal to grow on. Heterogeneous nucleation is slower and can take place
by several methods. Some of the most typical are small inclusions, or cuts, in the container the
crystal is being grown on. (Dr. Helmenstine, A. M. 2011) After nucleation has taken place, then the
second stage is growth. The growth stage is when the crystals actually start to form. The solute
molecule in the solution will be attracted to the protocrystal until more and more molecules bond
together and then the crystal starts to grow until it is a fully formed crystal. Concluding, a crystal
has two stages after supersaturation takes place, nucleation and growth. During these two stages is
when the growth and size of a crystal is determined.
A seed crystal is a common method people use to grow crystals; seed crystal is categorized under
assisted nucleation, so the process of growing a crystal becomes faster. A seed crystal is created
by supersaturation (Banfield, J., amp; Wallace, H. c. 2002). When the supersaturated solution has
cooled down, seed crystals form at the bottom of the solution (Thackwray, M. 2003). After a
crystal seed is formed, it is used to grow a crystal. The crystal seed is tied to a string. Then the
crystal seed is immersed in

The Book Of Margery Kempe
The medieval times were a time where loads of people did things. The Book of Margery Kempe
by Margery Kempe is a tail of a woman s struggle with Jesus s love on the exterior. Sifting through
the text, one can start to realize that this is not all the autobiography is about. Detailing her life,
Margery Kempe illustrates her struggles throughout her life. Things like her marrying a man whom
she did not want to have sexual contact with and trying to convince other wives away from their
husbands in the name of Jesusshow Margery Kempehad a great deal more going on than what the
face value of the text actually showed. In Margery Kempe s, The Book of Margery Kempe, she

Margery Kempe s struggle was not talked about in those times. Kempe showed the struggle of a
woman who was alive in a time where they had to live with a hindered sexuality. Kempe uses
coding, compulsory heterosexuality, and separatist ideas to show the projection of her feelings for
women into her feelings for Jesus. Although she did not express her sexuality in a way that nearly
all people would, Margery Kempe did what she could. She wanted women to follow in her
footsteps so she tried to influence them into leaving their husbands. Dinshaw argues that Margery
successfully imitates forms of sanctity that are intensely physical, queer. She s queer according to
Hollywood not because she fails to imitate sanctity, which is what I argue, but because she
succeeds, and the doubters can pick at her all they like (Dinshaw). Accidentally fighting the
assumed assignment heterosexuality, she refused to have sex with her husband and wore white
clothing. Margery Kempe was clearly trying to push the boundaries of her time period and she

A Summary Of Psychological Trauma
It seems to be a very controversial topic with no accurate answer. After reading some materials
online I believe that recovered memories of psychological trauma are valid and I concluded this
by reading an article How Traumatic Memories Hide in the Brain, And How to Retrieve Them
written by Marla Paul. The problem with a validity of the repressed memories arose many times and
made some people think that the memories were false because they were not easy to access this is
why they considered not being true. The Northwestern Medicine scientists explain that in response
to traumatic stress, some individuals, instead of activating the glutamate system to store memories,
activate the extra synaptic GABA system and form inaccessible traumatic

Zodiac Analysis
The Monster Within In Zodiac, written by Robert Graysmith he says, Just because you can t
prove it does not mean it is not true. This premise was completely accurate and disheartening for
David Toschi, the lead detective on the case because he could not uncover concrete evidence to
convict Arthur Leigh Lee Allen. Lee was the prime suspect in the investigation and all signs
pointed to him being Zodiac, which was the main similarity between the publication and motion
picture. In addition, the text contained two prime suspects, but the feature film fixated on one.
Graysmith later went to say, The film ends by hinting that Zodiac may be the man behind you in
the theatre (Zodiac). He was articulating how they should be vigilant at all times because Zodiac
could be the person juxtaposed to them and never know it. People may look ordinary but in
reality, everybody is insane, some just suppress it better than others. Zodiac written by Graysmith
had several parallels with the motion picture directed by David Fincher, but the main similarity
was the accusation of Arthur Leigh Allen being Zodiac. Both the novel and the film focused on
Lee being the main suspect considering all signs pointed to him, even though law enforcement
officers did not have sufficient evidence to validate it. Zodiac allegedly murdered 37 civilians,
although only 7 were substantiated to be Zodiac with 2 survivors: Mike Mageau and Bryan
Hartnell. However, the cinema and publication both prompted scrutiny to the deaths of David
Faraday, Betty Lou Jensen, Darlene Ferrin, Cecelia Shepard, and Paul Stine. Each of their
unfortunate demises all corresponded to Lee s whereabouts (Zodiac). The timeline made an
impeccable match, but the evidence was not substantial for conviction. Lee was the only suspect
served with a search warrant, after searching Lee s trailer they uncovered incriminating evidence,
but his handwriting did not match Zodiac s (Collins). Lee went through handwriting tests that the
police arranged for him and much to their dismay the handwriting expert determined there was no
correlation from Zodiac s letters to the handwriting submissions Lee presented (Grinell). The only
known sign of the Zodiac logo was on a watch and

The International Court Of Justice
International Court of Justice (ICJ, or the Hague International Court of Justice) established in 1945
is one of the main organs and judicial branch in the United Nation. It legally based on the Statute of
International Court of Justice signed in 1945 and Statute of the Permanent Court of International
Justice signed in 1920, which are unitary parts of United Nation Chapter.
The International Court of Justice is composed of 15 judges elected to nine year terms of office by
receiving an absolute majority of the votes in both United Nations General Assembly and the
Security Council. One third of the Court is elected every three years. For balancing the regional and
legal distribution, 3 judges are from Asia, 2 from Latin America and Caribbean, 3 from Africa, 2
from Eastern Europe, and 5 from Western Europe, Northern America and Oceania in general. The
committees that convince the administration, the Registry, which is the permanent administrative
organ of ICJ, and technical departments, mainly operate the ICJ.
ICJ is the sole common international court that has general jurisdiction. The court pursues the
principle of no trail without complaint and may no entertain cases voluntarily. The general
jurisdiction is an important power with two aspects: firstly, the court will give a ruling for the case
of disputes, which is mainly about territory, summited by states voluntary; secondly, the court may

Rossini And Il Barbiere Di Siviglia Essay
Rossini and Il Barbiere di Siviglia
Gioachino Rossini, like many great composers, was born in the right place at the right time. The
musical firmament was still mourning the loss of Wolfgang Mozart in 1792 when Rossini was
born. His parents were both gifted musicians, and young Gioachino was in a music conservatory
by the age of 14. Rossini composed ten operas within the following seven years and had
established himself as a gifted composer in the opera buffa style. This genre of comic opera was
strikingly different from the rigorous opera seria, but it still managed to acquire some noticeable
traits. Primarily, the arias in opera buffe shirk the da capo style of the seria mold. The subject

Rossini snuck out of the Teatro Argentina and went home, retiring for the evening without so
much as a word to anyone. The following evening, however, was a stark contrast. The composer
did not attend the performance, but he heard a crowd with torches in the street following the
show. He fully expected an angry mob, but was greeted by an adulatory audience shouting Bravo!
Almaviva became immensely popular, and the title was eventually changed to Il Barbiere di
Siviglia. This alteration established Rossini s work as the ultimate expression of the story, and the
work is now considered widely as one of the greatest comic operas ever written.
An aria from Barbiere that incorporates many of the typical buffa elements is La calunnia Г© un
venticello from the first act. Often called the Calumny aria , La calunnia is the first aria sung by
the unscrupulous music teacher, Don Basilio. He sings to Bartolo about defaming Almaviva
through calumny, malicious lies. The aria opens slowly, softly in D major as Basilio describes his
slander as a gentle breeze which begins to gather force. Rossini s orchestration embodies this
concept, as a simple ascending scale in thirds begins in the strings. The pianissimo marking gives
way to piano as the pattern moves to a phrase in b minor. The tune continues to meander through
tonalities until it arrives back in D major. Basilio reiterates that his lies gather

Marmoutier Abbey was a monastery just outside the city of Tours which was found in around the
fourth century. It is one of the earliest places of worship in the entire region. It later became a
very important abbey and had a lot of influence on the city culture and politics. One of the best
things to do in Marmoutier Abbey is to see the old ruins of ancient buildings that once were part of
the great monastery. The only material work that was done was of transcription to better understand
prayer instructions. One of the things to do in France is to enjoy the various places that depict
different religious elements such as the Marmoutier Abbey. Marmoutier Abbey though has a bloody
history. It was ravaged by Normans in the ninth century. The monastery again received importance
during the days of the crusades but then faded away. It was officially terminated during the French
Revolution after which the condition of most buildings present at Marmoutier Abbey quickly
deteriorated. The abbey contains a private school these days but there are many ruins that remain
here which can be viewed to get an idea of the abbey in its glory

The University Of Notre Dame s Undergraduate Usage Of St....
The purpose of this project was to examine the University of Notre Dame s undergraduate usage of
St. Liam s health center. Five questions were proposed to collect data on specific areas to gain an
understanding of how often and why undergraduate students seek out St. Liam s services. We
believe that St. Liam s is underutilized and hypothesized that not many undergraduates use the
services provide. Furthermore, we suspect that factors such as stress and grades (GPA) affect a
student s health, which would prompt them to visit and use St. Liam s health center. One of the
target questions focused on St. Liam s mental health and counseling services. We aim to determine
what type of mental health issue increases the number of times undergraduates students visited St.
Liam s for mental health/counseling services. Our results indicated that there is a relationship
between the student s type of issue and the number of visits to St. Liam s. From this, we can draw
from the raw data that the issue most prevalent in causing students to seek out counseling is mental
illness such as depression and bipolar disorder, with stress being the third most prominent cause.
However, majority of the students reported having no issue, but this did not affect the number of
visits these students made to St. Liam s. An equal number of students reporting no issue made a
different amount of trips to St. Liam s for mental health services, implying that most students are
just as likely to use St. Liam s.

Prosper Selkirk, John Torrington, and Lafey Dodge are on the other side of the spectrum as they
are the antagonists that represent big corporation. Each prominent character adds to the
storylines thickness and to the adversity Hitch must come to face. The story starts out with
Hitch, Law, and Rascal working under Charlie Waide on a cattle drive through Texas. The first
conflict in the novel arises when ownership of a cow is in question between Rascal and a fellow
cowboy. This small infraction ultimately sets the precedent of the story as the ownership of
cattle becomes a problem that builds up to the main conflict. As the story progresses forward,
Law is caught violating the cowboys set of unwritten laws as he tries to cheat other cattle
owners out of cattle, an offense he would repeatedly make throughout the novel that leads to his
death and would add fuel to the main conflict over cattle ownership. The title of the book is a
direct reference to the cowboy strike of 1883, which is represented in the novel when the
cowboys left their jobs as cowhands for the cattle drives and demanded higher wages, hoping to
cripple the big cattle companies that hindered the cowboys with their issuing of strict rules. Going
against his own morality and wishes, Hitch takes half of Charlie s men and leads them to join the
strike. Hitch himself is a strong independent man that always keeps his promises which is also

Analysis Of Lincoln Electric Company Of Cleveland Ohio Usa...
Lincoln Electric Company of Cleveland Ohio USA`s organizational Culture is exceptional and has
earned it the acolade of being the best managed manufacturing company in the whole world. I will
explore and attempt to identify culture aspects of Lincoln Electric from several issues such as; the
continuing influence of founders of the company, the golden rule, the incentive management
plan, the performance appraisal system, how people communicate in the organization, the merit pay
plan, the bonus plan, and the management style.
Normally Founders instill the culture they want right from the beginning of their organizations.
That is exactly what John C Lincoln did when he established his company Lincoln Electric in 1895.
He stablished a culture of innovation and even left administrative burdens of the company to a
brother, James Lincoln, so he could focus on innovation. This streak has continued to date where
Lincoln is not afraid to experiment with new ideas .e.g. the cost saving feature of welding
electrodes for construction and equipment manufacturing. The electrode process at Lincoln remains
a secretive affair which won`t be divulged to outsiders.
According to the OCP framework on organizational culture innovative cultures are not fussy about
titles and flat in their structure that is they are less bureaucratic. This is the outlook at Lincoln
where even the President `s office in the plant is not even carpeted and the company has not had an
organizational chart for quite a

Develop a regulation towards assessment and strengthening or modifying existing buildings that are

The article written by Robin Spence starts out explaining how the risk of natural hazards has
highly increased over the last century. Richer countries have developed ways to decrease the loss
of life from earthquake situations and also made modest progress in reducing casualties in storm
and flood related events. Poor countries have seem to make progress as well in combating the loss
of life due to earthquakes however they have not been as fortunate combating the loss of life in
storms and other hazardous situations. The article asks Why, when scientific understanding of the
causes of these events is increasing rapidly and engineering skill to design against them is so highly
developed, do these large death tolls continue and the financial losses continue to mount? And what
should nations, cities, employees, families, for example, be doing about it? (Spence, 2011)
Building codes and regulations today exist almost everywhere and are almost universal from one
location to the next. It has been proven that through the use of regulation and codes that there has
been much success in preventing and limiting damage in extreme events. The first design code for

The Reflection Of Student Disconnection In The Class
Student disconnection is like a virus that spreads to everyone in the class, just one student with their
head down and you soon have a pandemic of uninterested children. It s vital to stop this
disengagement as soon as it appears to keep it localized to one student. Currently, I am the long
term substitute for a High School Math II class featuring mostly tenth graders. At times it s difficult
to hold the attentionof a room filled with snarky teenagers. I use a variety of techniques to keep my
students engaged drawling from high quality instruction, classroom management skills, and our
teacher/studentrelationship. Every day the lesson plan for my class is fast paced and as exciting
as possible. The idea is to keep them busy the entire class to avoid disengagement. If we are
moving at a quick pace it s harder for students to zone out or they miss a ton of information. Next,
I utilize different types of materials to explain the topic of the day. I may start by giving notes and
lecturing, then move on to a video where the same idea is communicated more visually. Changing
up instruction methods seems to hold a student s attention better than if I simply drone on lecturing.
I also like to switch up activities, class may begin with a lecture for fifteen minutes, then move on
to a worksheet or some online learning. Changing activities provide a natural brain break, although
at times I implant those by telling a joke or allowing a student to share a story. Classroom

Strategies For Our Client Forever 21 On Global...
Executive summary
The purpose of this report is to provide specific advices for our client Forever 21 on global
crowdsourcing strategies by analysing several different platforms. After comparing the target
market and value proposition of Mechanical Turk, Freelancer, Odesk, Would You Rock This
(WYRT) and Spoonflower, Would You Rock This is recommended to be the best choice of

of crowdsourcing are analysed. Then the applications of technologies are shown. Last but not
least, Forever 21 should be known about how WYRT create value and be aware of the risk it may
bring.
Introduction
Crowdsourcing in this report refers to the process of attaining needed thoughts, services or
content from a large group of people (Merriam Webster, 2015). Different from outsourcing, it
decomposes and distributes the tasks to a public group which did not be defined, but not a specific
group. The aim of this report is to find differences between several platforms of crowdsourcing and
then give precise recommendations for our client Forever 21. By analysing the target markets of
Mechanical Turk, Freelancer, Odesk, Would You Rock This (WYRT) and Spoonflower, and

The Anglo-Saxon Archetype Of Beowulf As An Epic Hero
BeaHero An epic hero is a brave and noble character in an epic poem, admired for great
achievements or affected by grand events. The epic hero of a story embarks on a quest in search
of fame and glory, and encounters challenges throughout their journey. No matter the adversity, the
epic hero maintains bravery and courage, never backing down. However, what the epic hero does
not know is that the real reason for a quest is always self knowledge (Foster 3). In the epic Beowulf,
Anonymous employes the affection of a king, bravery in battle, an eternal quest and a lasting
legacy to show Beowulf as an epic hero. Beowulf embodies the Anglo Saxon archetype of an
epic hero. A key moment in the epic is when king Hrothgar welcomes Beowulf to his kingdom
and says But to table, Beowulf, a banquet in your honor:/Let us toast your victories, and talk of
the future (ll. 223 224). Here it is shown that even a king is acknowledging Beowulf s bravery
and is throwing him a feast, one of the highest honors a king could bestow upon anyone, showing
Hrothgar s great admiration for Beowulf. During the feast Unferth questions Beowulf s honor but
is shown to be a coward himself when Beowulf refutes his claims and inspires king Hrothgar with
a speech: The Geats will show him courage, soon/He can test his strength in battle. And when the
sun/Comes up again, opening another/Bright day from the south, anyone in Denmark will be able

Importance Of Community Service In Education
This semester I engaged in many different community service and civic engagement activities.
The activity that I did the most frequently would be volunteering in a special needs class room at
Vandever Elementary in Broken Arrow. I went to Broken Arrow Public School and actually know
that teacher that I volunteering with from when I used to peer tutor when I was younger. I peer
tutored from 3rd grade through 10th grade, switching between three main classrooms. It was so
nice to see one of the teachers that I looked up so much to when I was younger and who instilled in
me the joys of teaching. Volunteering in her classroom was very fun and nostalgic, but I do think
that she could have been more proactive with her time managementskills. While volunteering in
the classroom, I became very familiar with the classroom s daily schedule and their routines. I
found that there was quite a bit of time wasted in the afternoon. I was not entirely sure if maybe
this had to do with her students and their limits because most of them are only a half day or if it
was poor time management. Although, I think the schedule could easily be accommodated to
include more instructional time if the students in the classroom were able to adjust to that. In the
afternoon they spend a majority of their instructional time watching Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, or
Bookflix. I feel like if they divided their time as well they did in the morning they could get in a lot
more instructional time. In the mornings

The Benefits Of Solar Energy
The Benefits of Solar Energy
Solar energy has been around for decades and as time has evolved it has become the center of
renewable energy. In order for you to fully understand the environmental and economical benefits
of solar panels you must first understand and know their purpose. A solar panel is a panel designed
to absorb the sun s rays as a source of energy for generating electricity or heating. With the recent
rise in energy costs many people have been looking to alternative sources of energy, this is where
we see solar panels and solar energy come into the picture. Solar panels have a variety of benefits
ranging from higher property values, economic growth, and health benefits. As more homes and
businesses across the country install solar panels, our nation moves farther away from fossil fuel
consumption and closer to a clean economy powered by the sun. It is known that when we burn
fossil burns to create energy we are releasing toxic gases that cause pollution and global
warming. But the installation of solar panels allows for less and less of those toxic gases to be
emitted and lowers our dependence on the other fossil fuels. Throughout this essay you will see
how and why solar panels play such a vital role in our environment, and yes it is true that there are
two sides to every story but in actuality you find very little disadvantages. So why are solar panels
beneficial to the environment and how can this be proven?

The Theme Of Round About By Ogden Nash
Round About Ogden Nash s poem, Round About, expresses a clear theme of time. Humans value
every year, month, week, day, hour, minute, and second of time. Although humans existence is just
a spec in time, time is everlasting. It goes on forever. In that huge amount of time, humans only
exist in the smallest portion of it. Specifically, Ogden Nashuses plenty of repetition throughout the
poem. For example, round about (Nash 7), around (11), and again (20). Ogden Nash includes this
repetition to convey that time repeats itself. Never ending time keeps occurring. Each and every
day is just like the day before. Each morning one wakes up, once again. By repeating words that
have to do with the repetition of time, it gets in the readerВґs head that time repeats itself. Nash
also uses rhymeto convey the theme of time. Some examples are, Past (3), vast (4), ring around
(11), swing around (12), astounded (37), and merry go rounded (38). By using these rhymes,
Nash is hinting towards time going around and around. He is comparing time to objects that
have a circular motion, that showing time is going in a continuous circle. For example, merry go
rounds are fun rides that go around in a circle. Time is being compared to a joyful ride that goes
in a circular motion, and only in that motion. The ride does the same thing each and every time.
Along with time. Humans wake up each morning ready to follow the same schedule as the day
before. However, it can be a fun ride

Doctor Of Veterinary Medicine
My whole life I have loved animals and everyone knew that about me. I remember telling my
parents that I wanted to be a veterinarian and they told me to work hard for that job. I feel as if
being a vet would be the best job I could ever get because I would enjoy coming to work
everyday. I also think that I would be good at this job because I can handle any pet I see. I have
been around wild dogs that aren t trained, cats that like to bite and scratch, birds that hate to be
touched, and many other animals. I mostly picked this job because, like I said, I would enjoy
coming to work everyday, but this has been a dream job since I was a little kid. This job relates to
my interest in so many ways. I do know that there are many different vets and... Show more content

Every vet works at least fifty hours a week. Only about a fifth, work forty hours a weeks. Many
vets that work in a private practice may work at night and weekends at the same time. That
means they don t really get a decent amount of days off. There are also many group practices that
may take turns being on call for any type of work. Which means that they would work the
mornings, evenings, nights, and also the weekends. Veterinarians treat animals in hospitals and
clinics When there is a large animal that needs attention, the vets would drive out to the place it
is which could be a considerable distance. Any vet that has to go to a farm to cure an animal has
to work outdoors in any kind of weather. While working with these sick animals the vets could
be exposed to disease and infection. Any vet can also be bit, kicked, or scratched. Not all
animals are the nicest and that means that if I were to become a vet I would have to get used to
the dogs or cats that were not as friendly or treat them the right way and let them warm up to me
a little bit. One way that almost all animals sense if we are nice or cruel is by smelling our
hands, try not to just go straight in for petting the animal. If I were to specialize as a farm and zoo

The Annexation of Mexico
The object of war is victory; that of victory is conquest; and that of conquest is preservation
(Charles de Secondat). War is both a necessity and a parasite. It is a necessity for one to conquer
and fulfill ambitions, while the parasite trying to destroy and create havoc in the same discussion.
The annexation of Mexico would face both of these predicaments, but the necessity for prosperity
and stability outweighs the parasite s wants and desires. Bringing forth Mexico into the union
would only benefit the new country both globally and locally. Mexico has too much to offer to
ignore the positive consequences that unification brings forth. Endless possibilities for change for
the people, brings about change for the future.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And the more people left out of jobs, the greater the chance of an economic crash. Thats where
stability becomes issue number two. How could this possibly work with all of this chaos
running about? Stability would be very hard to manage with such a flood of job seekers in this
new job world. It would be like walking on stilts for the first time and hoping not to fall. Yikes.
There are no great limits to growth because there are no limits of human intelligence,
imagination, and wonder (Ronald Reagan). Growth is like a child s imagination, it can go on
and on in an infinite direction. Never stopping and never yielding to any type of force. That
growth is the USA. The growth of America by the annexation of Mexico is limitless. Both
economically and the stability it would bring is mind blowing. Let us first divulge in economics.
Economics can either be a relatively easy concept or one you must build from the bottom up. With
Mexico brought into the union, and our economy on the rise as it is, we can only build up higher
and higher. For instance, the markets would vastly expand. New trading partners would come forth
with the introduction of Mexican American coffee, sugars, and of course Blue agave tequila. The
new stock market would be the best indicator on how the world s businesses are running. It would
be a NYSE, but one that is on steroids, outclassing

An Analysis Of William And Co Authors Book
Introduction
Chapter Two of William and co authors book Research Methods particularly focuses on the
importance of ethics (pg.34). A combination of intentional diction, imagery and narration coupled
with an authoritative tone has been used to handle the key issues in this chapter. Deliberate contrast
between the traditional and current perspectives of ethics and its evolution has been employed to
explain and emphasize the need for ethical research work. Through these literary devices and style,
the authors emphasis on ethics despite the fact that it is not enforceable by law is made clear. This
excerpt analyzes how these authors have landed their points on ethics home.
Foundation of ethics in research work
To begin with, the author chooses to use the pronoun you to draw attention towards the foundation
of ethics in research work (pg.34). The use of this pronoun on the introduction is deliberate as the
author wants to put emphasis by making anyone reading the book feel part and parcel of the issue
at hand. Circumstantially, the author manages explain that a research that is conducted ethically
does not only benefit the people who use it but also makes the person doing it feel satisfied. This
direct address to the readership has also been used insist on employment of honesty, integrity and
care for the participant which is the key issue in this chapter. In a bid to make the reader reflect
what impact would conduct a research ethically or unethically have in the

have raised more money and awareness and even had more success with the campaign if they
would have sold the limited edition bottles in stores rather than just on eBay. They did not consider
how many more people they could have reached with this campaign. They really limited their reach
and did not consider their offline clientele when they planned the campaign.

Role Of America In Foreign Affairs
Essentially, America s best option is to participate in foreign affairs around the world. America has
already been established as a major world power due to having the most powerful military.
Globalization results in ever growing connections between different countries, including the U.S.
Furthermore, politics have also become nearly entirely global, placing America in the role of
leadership due to its influence on other countries. How much the U.S. engages in foreign issues is
relative to the security and relationships of the U.S. From history, we can deduce that isolationism

Racial Formation
The Racial Formations of the Model Minority and Assimilating Whites
We use the term racial formation to refer to the process by which social, economic and political
forces determine the content and importance of racial categories, and by which they are in turn
shaped by racial meanings. (Omi and Winant 14) Through observing certain events in the economy,
politics, and society, we can understand the unwanted ascribing of racial identities to the minorities
that led to their unfair treatment and discrimination. The underlying factors that led to this
utilization of racial formation were a scarcity of jobs, political policies to maintain power, and
racial division through class differences.
The Chinese migrants were a group of people who migrated to America roughly a year after the the
annexation of California. They were a people the leaders praised, would cultivate Californian land
and develop the railroads that would connect the Atlantic states to what the fathers envisioned as the
great emporium of commerce and trade. The turmoil on their native land was the biggest factor in
their emigration out of China.
They were initially referred to as guest up until there was a scarcity of jobs. Unfortunately for the
Chinese, the rapidly changing economic climate had molded their racial formation. Nativist began
to fight back against the Chinese once they realized that they working against these people for jobs.

Comparing Rappaccini s Daughter And The Birthmark
The male gaze is a philosophical concept that implies that men use the eyes to communicate with
females in a manner that is both critical, or can be described as sensual in nature. This is the case
in Nathaniel Hawthorne s short stories, Rappaccini s Daughter and The birthmark. In The
Birthmark Aylmer s gazeof the birthmark is not only an obsession, but an erotic feature that leads
him to commit unethical practices to get rid of his wife s imperfection. Rappaccini s Daughter
makes Beatrice feel guilty for her sexual allure. In addition, both male characters feel the need to

The Effects Of Ambient Air Quality For Environmental...
Problem 1: Ans: In the article, the author described mainly two challenges to the process. One
challenge will be to routinely share data for these types of analyses at fine geographic and temporal
scales without disclosing confidential information. Another challenge will be to develop C R
estimates which take into account time, space, or other relevant effect modifiers. (Talbot etc. 2009)
Though developing C R estimates using proper modeling methods are very important and will
directly provide initiatively studying results, in my opinion, challenges regarding data collection
and routinely share are the most important. To measure the public health impacts of ambient air
quality for environmental public health tracking, both consistent accurate data and measure
approaches are required. Though EPA has developed statistical based ambient air estimates (using
HB model) for use in EPHT, the correct modeling and representative results are all based on
accuracy data collection. From my personal experience as a biostatistician, if the collected data are
not representative or inaccuracy, however well the measuring methods are, researchers will never
get the real truth. Thus challenges regarding data collection and routinely share are the most
important. They are the foundation of the whole study. Overcoming these challenges are more than
necessary. More in detail, as described in the article the data collection and routinely share
challenges are important and mainly from two

James Hetfield, the front man for Metallica, and an inspiration to musicians around the world.
When you think of the band Metallica, there s no way you don t think of him.
Born on August 3, 1963, in Downey, California, to a truck driver and light opera singer(1), both
believers of Christian Science, James Alan Hetfield must have had a strange childhood. At the age
of 9, Hetfield began taking piano lessons. Not long afterwards he began playing on his brother s
drums, and at the age of fourteen he finally picked up a guitar and learned how to play.
With such inspirations as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and Thin Lizzy, Hetfield quickly knew that
he wanted to become a rock star. He started his first band, Obsession, with Jim Arnold on guitar,...

he was concerned.(2)
Back in Downey, back with McGoveny, Hetfield started the band Leather Charm.(2) Mulligan and
Tanner were there with him, essentially combining the two previous bands he created into one.
This time, though, Hetfield lost the guitar and focused solely on his role as the lead vocalist. One
of the covers that Leather Charm did was of Iron Maiden s Remember Tomorrow , according to

As Leather Charm began to fall apart, Hetfield saw an advertisement in the newspaper by Lars

been offered to record for a demo compilation album being produced by Metal Blade Records.(2)
Hetfield joined, playing guitar and providing vocals for the album. In doing this, Hetfield wrote the
famous song Hit the Lights , which debuted on Metal Massacre I on June 14,

The Canterbury Tales Research Paper
Timeless tales are treasures of our lifetime. We draw lessons from the works of literature that
reflect our experiences. Through reading stories we could find connections that may or may not
justify our actions. Stories that we could relate to may give us an idea on how we perceive our
actions, which questions our view on morality as well. In The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey
Chaucer, there is a tale that covers how we must be careful of the things that we will say,
because our words are as powerful as a sword. The Manciple s Tale of the Crow narrates the story
of Phoebus. Phoebus possesses the ideal characteristics of a man handsome, brave, and talented. He
has a pet, a white crow that speaks and sings more beautifully than a nightingale.... Show more

Given the time when this works are written, people then have a very good sense of their religion,
upholding the standards of their time. In contrast, people committed acts that are considered
immoral, like adultery. In this tale the storyteller built the idea that one should not tell the truth if it
only hurts the other, which could possibly worsen the situation.
Another issue that is associated in this tale is how women are perceived during that time. Phoebus
caged his wife because he is jealous. This situation may be the reason why his wife had an affair.
Nonetheless, this poses inequality in terms of how women are treated.
As a whole, this tale represents the justification of a certain act given its possible outcomes. In
which in the story, the crow should have not told Phoebus the truth for it will only worsen the
situation. One must critically examine the situation whether a response should be established
immediately.
The Canterbury Tales may be written for us to realize the different things that are around us. This
collection of tales may awaken a part of our minds that is unconscious a part that could be triggered
through the use of common themes with underlying

Which was the death of twenty two year old JosГ© Gallardo DГaz, a young man who was found
nearly dead in Commerce, California on August 2, 1942. Even though his death is still an
unknown until this day, Seventeen Mexican American youths were arrested and held as
suspects in prison by the Los Angeles police department without bail and on murder charges.
Jude Charles W. Fricke sentenced nine of the seventeen defendants of second degree murder, on
January 13, 1943. Those sentenced served time in San Quentin Prison, the rest were charged
with minor offenses and served time in Los Angeles County Jail. What was interesting to me
about Luis Valdez s movie Zoot Suit, is that we see for our eyes how much the Sleepy Lagoon
case broke out the zoot suit riots all around Los Angeles, and near by cities. Similarly to Blood in
Blood out and American Me, after being released from Prison, Henry is shown as having three
different path ways in life, the first is going back to jail, second is joining the Army, and the last
is making a family of his own. Henry is being presented with a fresh start to life, he has chance to
pick his own fate. Similarly Blood in Blood out (1993) focuses on vicious crime that occurs in
Chicano communities. The characters in Blood in Blood out also spent the majority of their time in
and out of San Quentin Prison, and once being released they too had chance

Symbolism In Siddhartha
Peace begins with a smile. That was once remarked by Mother Teresa, who has won a nobel
peace prize. Siddhartha, by Hermann Hesse, is about a boy named Siddhartha who leaves home
when he is in his teenage years, so that he can go out and seek nirvana and find enlightenment. One
of the symbols in Siddhartha is a smile. A smile is used in the book to show characters that have
been enlightened. In Siddhartha, Hermann Hesseuses the smile as a symbol to show enlightenment
which is shown through Vasudeva, Gotama, and Siddhartha.
One of the few characters in the novel that are enlightened is Vasudeva. Vasudeva was a ferryman
who was always learning and listening to the river. On one ferry ride with Siddhartha, the two
talked about their lives. During the talk, Vasudeva smiled: The rower smiled, swaying gently (102).
One of the ways to show enlightenment is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To reach nirvana, one must find enlightenment. Siddhartha, at the end of his journey, does reach
enlightenment, which is shown by him smiling, He smiled peacefully and gently, perhaps very
graciously, perhaps very mockingly, exactly as the Illustrious One had smiled (151). The smile
reveals that he has become enlightened. A quote that also tells how he has become enlightened
shares that his loyal friend, Govinda, compares Siddhartha s smile Gotama s smile, And Govinda
saw that this mask like smile of simultaneousness over the thousands of births and deaths this smile
of Siddhartha was exactly the same as the calm, delicate, impenetrable, perhaps gracious, perhaps
mocking, wise, thousand fold smile of Gotama... (151). Comparing Siddhartha s smile with Gotama
s smile shows that Siddhartha is similar to the illustrious one, who is enlightened. Siddhartha s
journey to becoming enlightened definitely did not end badly for the lad, who in the end, definitely
did become

Philippines s Macroeconomic Perspective Of The...
Philippines repeatedly experienced boom and bust in its economy since 1980. Having faced
huge debt crisis in 1983 and the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997, it can be said that the nation is
back on its feet from being the sick man of Asia to a tiger cub, and becoming realigned with the
ASEAN 6 (Worldbank). The GDP growth has been growing at 4.5 percent under Macapagal
Arroyo and even better under Aquino s at 6 percent. Account balances also recorded surpluses
repeatedly since 2003 (CIA Factbook).
There are many factors that played to this growth, clean governance, better tax collection, the
growing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and the remittances by over 4 million overseas
Filipino workers (OFW). Despite this growth, poverty is still among the challenge of the country.
With a population of over 99 million (est. 2014), 25.2 percent is still living under poverty line (CIA
Factbook). By discussing the topics mentioned above this report will further deliver the
macroeconomic perspective of the Philippines.
Aquino s Administration Benigno Aquino III, the son of former president Cory Aquino, became
the 15th President of the Philippines in 2010. Under his term which will end in 2016, he
achieved high numbers in terms of GDP growth. In 2011, GDP was recorded at 3.2 percent
which soared to 6.8 percent in 2012 and to a high of 7.8 percent in the first quarter of 2013 but
contracted slightly at 5.3 percent in the first quarter of 2014. The credit rating agencies also enlisted

Christine Fair and Bryan Shepherd s research note explores the different aspects upon demand for terrorism (also known as support) to address empirical lacunae in exploring detailed demographic and psychographic variables among fourteen countries with predominantly Muslim populations or with large Muslim minorities in 2002. Whereas many of previous researchfocused upon the supply of terrorist work force and the shared characteristics of terrorists, the present research note represents a quantitative effort to understand the segments of the demand for terrorism. The following list presents the 14 countries analyzed by the researchers upon the support for terrorism: Bangladesh; Ghana; Indonesia; Ivory Coast; Jordan; Lebanon; Mali; Nigeria; Pakistan; Senegal; Tanzania; Turkey; Uganda and Uzbekistan. The authors highlight the fact that the survey reflects a reality change following the 9/11 but does not reflect the public opinion about US led military actions in Iraq for the reason that the Pew Institute conducted and completed the country surveys between July 2002 and October 2002 while the US led operations started in March 2003. C. Christine Fair and Bryan Shepherd describe and explain the methodology employed by the Pew Institute to collect data among the countries with large Muslim populations. The survey collected several kinds of data about the respondent but; since the phrasing of the question relates to all varieties of attacks against civilian targets instead of primarily emphasis suicide terrorism; it appears that the survey itself presents a limitation in assessing the support for terrorism. The research note presents another limitation when the authors refer to the Depravation theory without defining it. They use the theory to explain the relationship between economic variables and to describe the correlation with the research, but they fail ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Goose Hollow Reflection For my neighborhood study of Goose Hollow, I completed a research project to answer my research question, What is day to day life like in Goose Hollow? . This paper will reveal the story of my data through showing common themes between my research team s data to highlight noticeable conclusions drawn from my research methodologies. In analyzing my data, it is important to note my positionality. I am a nineteen year old female college student living in a downtown area of a city. I identify as being middle class, Jewish, heterosexual, and Latina. These key aspects of identity were important to take into consideration while collecting and analyzing my data because it can affect interpretation. For my research in Goose Hollow specifically, my social location as a middle class Latina was the most relevant. An awareness of the tensions inherent in research, and reflection on these tensions is important (McAullffe and Coleman, 2008, pg. 26). Being aware of my social location and following the ethics and protocol necessary in a research project, allowed me to be reflexive during my study. When making conclusions about my data to determine the narrative, I looked at how every research methodology contributed to the themes of my neighborhood. In the very act of constructing data out of experience, the qualitative researcher singles out some things as worthy of note and relegates others to the background (Wolcott, 1994, pg. 13). For the purpose of my paper, I chose to focus on two themes but that does not discredit the rest of my data. The two themes that appeared in all the data shared between my research team, were the ideas that Goose Hollow serves as an in between place for people trying to get from point A to point B and the active gentrification present in the neighborhood. To begin, I focused on participant observation methodology. The physical location and businesses of Goose Hollow makes it a convenient place for people to stop. The grab and go pizza place, Starbucks, corner store, and many modes of transportation make it a hub for commuters in their day to day life. When analyzing my group s data, a considerable amount of instances relating to transportation were observed. Ellen Koukel observed the MAX ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Crystal Research Paper Crystal Research Paper A crystal is made up of the same materials that a regular glass is made of, such as silica, soda, and lime, but the addition of lead oxide is what gives crystals their shine. A bead has to have 24% lead oxide added to qualify as leaded crystal. Contrary to the popular belief, crystals have been around for a long time. Ancient Egypt, Rome, and other groups have all used crystals for various purposes. It was used in medicine, magic and rituals, as offerings and currency, as well as important gifts and items of beauty. Ancient civilizations were able to use crystals because natural crystals are dug from the ground where earth s temperature and pressure causes them to form. However, one can make a crystal at home. Heterogeneous nucleation is slower and can take place by several methods. Some of the most typical are small inclusions, or cuts, in the container the crystal is being grown on. (Dr. Helmenstine, A. M. 2011) After nucleation has taken place, then the second stage is growth. The growth stage is when the crystals actually start to form. The solute molecule in the solution will be attracted to the protocrystal until more and more molecules bond together and then the crystal starts to grow until it is a fully formed crystal. Concluding, a crystal has two stages after supersaturation takes place, nucleation and growth. During these two stages is when the growth and size of a crystal is determined. A seed crystal is a common method people use to grow crystals; seed crystal is categorized under assisted nucleation, so the process of growing a crystal becomes faster. A seed crystal is created by supersaturation (Banfield, J., amp; Wallace, H. c. 2002). When the supersaturated solution has cooled down, seed crystals form at the bottom of the solution (Thackwray, M. 2003). After a crystal seed is formed, it is used to grow a crystal. • 5. The Book Of Margery Kempe The medieval times were a time where loads of people did things. The Book of Margery Kempe by Margery Kempe is a tail of a woman s struggle with Jesus s love on the exterior. Sifting through the text, one can start to realize that this is not all the autobiography is about. Detailing her life, Margery Kempe illustrates her struggles throughout her life. Things like her marrying a man whom she did not want to have sexual contact with and trying to convince other wives away from their husbands in the name of Jesusshow Margery Kempehad a great deal more going on than what the face value of the text actually showed. Margery Kempe s struggle was not talked about in those times. Kempe showed the struggle of a woman who was alive in a time where they had to live with a hindered sexuality. Although she did not express her sexuality in a way that nearly all people would, Margery Kempe did what she could. She wanted women to follow in her footsteps so she tried to influence them into leaving their husbands. Dinshaw argues that Margery successfully imitates forms of sanctity that are intensely physical, queer. She s queer according to Hollywood not because she fails to imitate sanctity, which is what I argue, but because she succeeds, and the doubters can pick at her all they like (Dinshaw). The problem with a validity of the repressed memories arose many times and made some people think that the memories were false because they were not easy to access this is why they considered not being true. • 7. Zodiac Analysis The Monster Within In Zodiac, written by Robert Graysmith he says, Just because you can t prove it does not mean it is not true. This premise was completely accurate and disheartening for David Toschi, the lead detective on the case because he could not uncover concrete evidence to convict Arthur Leigh Lee Allen. Lee was the prime suspect in the investigation and all signs pointed to him being Zodiac, which was the main similarity between the publication and motion picture. In addition, the text contained two prime suspects, but the feature film fixated on one. Graysmith later went to say, The film ends by hinting that Zodiac may be the man behind you in the theatre (Zodiac). He was articulating how they should be vigilant at all times because Zodiac could be the person juxtaposed to them and never know it. People may look ordinary but in reality, everybody is insane, some just suppress it better than others. Zodiac written by Graysmith had several parallels with the motion picture directed by David Fincher, but the main similarity was the accusation of Arthur Leigh Allen being Zodiac. Both the novel and the film focused on Lee being the main suspect considering all signs pointed to him, even though law enforcement officers did not have sufficient evidence to validate it. Zodiac allegedly murdered 37 civilians, although only 7 were substantiated to be Zodiac with 2 survivors: Mike Mageau and Bryan Hartnell. However, the cinema and publication both prompted scrutiny to the deaths of David Faraday, Betty Lou Jensen, Darlene Ferrin, Cecelia Shepard, and Paul Stine. Each of their unfortunate demises all corresponded to Lee s whereabouts (Zodiac). The timeline made an impeccable match, but the evidence was not substantial for conviction. Lee was the only suspect served with a search warrant, after searching Lee s trailer they uncovered incriminating evidence, but his handwriting did not match Zodiac s (Collins). Lee went through handwriting tests that the police arranged for him and much to their dismay the handwriting expert determined there was no correlation from Zodiac s letters to the handwriting submissions Lee presented (Grinell). The musical firmament was still mourning the loss of Wolfgang Mozart in 1792 when Rossini was born. His parents were both gifted musicians, and young Gioachino was in a music conservatory by the age of 14. Rossini composed ten operas within the following seven years and had established himself as a gifted composer in the opera buffa style. He fully expected an angry mob, but was greeted by an adulatory audience shouting Bravo! Almaviva became immensely popular, and the title was eventually changed to Il Barbiere di Siviglia. This alteration established Rossini s work as the ultimate expression of the story, and the work is now considered widely as one of the greatest comic operas ever written. An aria from Barbiere that incorporates many of the typical buffa elements is La calunnia Г© un venticello from the first act. Often called the Calumny aria , La calunnia is the first aria sung by the unscrupulous music teacher, Don Basilio. He sings to Bartolo about defaming Almaviva through calumny, malicious lies. The aria opens slowly, softly in D major as Basilio describes his slander as a gentle breeze which begins to gather force. Rossini s orchestration embodies this concept, as a simple ascending scale in thirds begins in the strings. The pianissimo marking gives way to piano as the pattern moves to a phrase in b minor. The tune continues to meander through tonalities until it arrives back in D major. Basilio reiterates that his lies gather ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. The University Of Notre Dame s Undergraduate Usage Of St.... The purpose of this project was to examine the University of Notre Dame s undergraduate usage of St. Liam s health center. Five questions were proposed to collect data on specific areas to gain an understanding of how often and why undergraduate students seek out St. Liam s services. We believe that St. Liam s is underutilized and hypothesized that not many undergraduates use the services provide. Furthermore, we suspect that factors such as stress and grades (GPA) affect a student s health, which would prompt them to visit and use St. Liam s health center. One of the target questions focused on St. Liam s mental health and counseling services. We aim to determine what type of mental health issue increases the number of times undergraduates students visited St. Liam s for mental health/counseling services. Our results indicated that there is a relationship between the student s type of issue and the number of visits to St. Liam s. From this, we can draw from the raw data that the issue most prevalent in causing students to seek out counseling is mental illness such as depression and bipolar disorder, with stress being the third most prominent cause. However, majority of the students reported having no issue, but this did not affect the number of visits these students made to St. Liam s. An equal number of students reporting no issue made a different amount of trips to St. Liam s for mental health services, implying that most students are just as likely to use St. Liam s. ... Lincoln Electric Company of Cleveland Ohio USA`s organizational Culture is exceptional and has earned it the acolade of being the best managed manufacturing company in the whole world. I will explore and attempt to identify culture aspects of Lincoln Electric from several issues such as; the continuing influence of founders of the company, the golden rule, the incentive management plan, the performance appraisal system, how people communicate in the organization, the merit pay plan, the bonus plan, and the management style. Normally Founders instill the culture they want right from the beginning of their organizations. That is exactly what John C Lincoln did when he established his company Lincoln Electric in 1895. He stablished a culture of innovation and even left administrative burdens of the company to a brother, James Lincoln, so he could focus on innovation. This streak has continued to date where Lincoln is not afraid to experiment with new ideas .e.g. the cost saving feature of welding electrodes for construction and equipment manufacturing. The electrode process at Lincoln remains a secretive affair which won`t be divulged to outsiders. According to the OCP framework on organizational culture innovative cultures are not fussy about titles and flat in their structure that is they are less bureaucratic. It s vital to stop this disengagement as soon as it appears to keep it localized to one student. Currently, I am the long term substitute for a High School Math II class featuring mostly tenth graders. At times it s difficult to hold the attentionof a room filled with snarky teenagers. I use a variety of techniques to keep my students engaged drawling from high quality instruction, classroom management skills, and our teacher/studentrelationship. Every day the lesson plan for my class is fast paced and as exciting as possible. The idea is to keep them busy the entire class to avoid disengagement. If we are moving at a quick pace it s harder for students to zone out or they miss a ton of information. Next, I utilize different types of materials to explain the topic of the day. I may start by giving notes and lecturing, then move on to a video where the same idea is communicated more visually. Changing up instruction methods seems to hold a student s attention better than if I simply drone on lecturing. I also like to switch up activities, class may begin with a lecture for fifteen minutes, then move on to a worksheet or some online learning. Changing activities provide a natural brain break, although at times I implant those by telling a joke or allowing a student to share a story. Classroom management ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The epic hero of a story embarks on a quest in search of fame and glory, and encounters challenges throughout their journey. No matter the adversity, the epic hero maintains bravery and courage, never backing down. However, what the epic hero does not know is that the real reason for a quest is always self knowledge (Foster 3). In the epic Beowulf, Anonymous employes the affection of a king, bravery in battle, an eternal quest and a lasting legacy to show Beowulf as an epic hero. Beowulf embodies the Anglo Saxon archetype of an epic hero. A key moment in the epic is when king Hrothgar welcomes Beowulf to his kingdom and says But to table, Beowulf, a banquet in your honor:/Let us toast your victories, and talk of the future (ll. 223 224). Here it is shown that even a king is acknowledging Beowulf s bravery and is throwing him a feast, one of the highest honors a king could bestow upon anyone, showing Hrothgar s great admiration for Beowulf. During the feast Unferth questions Beowulf s honor but is shown to be a coward himself when Beowulf refutes his claims and inspires king Hrothgar with a speech: The Geats will show him courage, soon/He can test his strength in battle. While volunteering in the classroom, I became very familiar with the classroom s daily schedule and their routines. I found that there was quite a bit of time wasted in the afternoon. I was not entirely sure if maybe this had to do with her students and their limits because most of them are only a half day or if it was poor time management. In order for you to fully understand the environmental and economical benefits of solar panels you must first understand and know their purpose. A solar panel is a panel designed to absorb the sun s rays as a source of energy for generating electricity or heating. With the recent rise in energy costs many people have been looking to alternative sources of energy, this is where we see solar panels and solar energy come into the picture. Solar panels have a variety of benefits ranging from higher property values, economic growth, and health benefits. As more homes and businesses across the country install solar panels, our nation moves farther away from fossil fuel consumption and closer to a clean economy powered by the sun. It is known that when we burn fossil burns to create energy we are releasing toxic gases that cause pollution and global warming. But the installation of solar panels allows for less and less of those toxic gases to be emitted and lowers our dependence on the other fossil fuels. • 26. The Theme Of Round About By Ogden Nash Round About Ogden Nash s poem, Round About, expresses a clear theme of time. Humans value every year, month, week, day, hour, minute, and second of time. Although humans existence is just a spec in time, time is everlasting. It goes on forever. In that huge amount of time, humans only exist in the smallest portion of it. Specifically, Ogden Nashuses plenty of repetition throughout the poem. For example, round about (Nash 7), around (11), and again (20). Ogden Nash includes this repetition to convey that time repeats itself. Never ending time keeps occurring. Each and every day is just like the day before. Each morning one wakes up, once again. By repeating words that have to do with the repetition of time, it gets in the readerВґs head that time repeats itself. Nash also uses rhymeto convey the theme of time. Some examples are, Past (3), vast (4), ring around (11), swing around (12), astounded (37), and merry go rounded (38). By using these rhymes, Nash is hinting towards time going around and around. He is comparing time to objects that have a circular motion, that showing time is going in a continuous circle. For example, merry go rounds are fun rides that go around in a circle. Time is being compared to a joyful ride that goes in a circular motion, and only in that motion. The ride does the same thing each and every time. Along with time. Humans wake up each morning ready to follow the same schedule as the day before. However, it can be a fun ride ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The annexation of Mexico would face both of these predicaments, but the necessity for prosperity and stability outweighs the parasite s wants and desires. (Omi and Winant 14) Through observing certain events in the economy, politics, and society, we can understand the unwanted ascribing of racial identities to the minorities that led to their unfair treatment and discrimination. The underlying factors that led to this utilization of racial formation were a scarcity of jobs, political policies to maintain power, and racial division through class differences. The Chinese migrants were a group of people who migrated to America roughly a year after the the annexation of California. They were a people the leaders praised, would cultivate Californian land and develop the railroads that would connect the Atlantic states to what the fathers envisioned as the great emporium of commerce and trade. One challenge will be to routinely share data for these types of analyses at fine geographic and temporal scales without disclosing confidential information. Another challenge will be to develop C R estimates which take into account time, space, or other relevant effect modifiers. (Talbot etc. 2009) Though developing C R estimates using proper modeling methods are very important and will directly provide initiatively studying results, in my opinion, challenges regarding data collection and routinely share are the most important. To measure the public health impacts of ambient air quality for environmental public health tracking, both consistent accurate data and measure approaches are required. Though EPA has developed statistical based ambient air estimates (using HB model) for use in EPHT, the correct modeling and representative results are all based on accuracy data collection. From my personal experience as a biostatistician, if the collected data are not representative or inaccuracy, however well the measuring methods are, researchers will never get the real truth.
