More than 80 million people died during the long lasting conflict of World War II,
including soldiers and civilians. Disease, famine, and combat generated the mortality
of over three percent of the world s population in 1945. These issues are ordinary
struggles that a country participating in war is forced to suffer through. What effects
does international conflict have on its participants? That controversial question is

Thomas Nagel, Professor of Philosophy at New York University developed the
current philosophical idea of Moral luck. Kant denied the possibility of moral luck
but Nagel created the idea of moral luck based on Kant s opposition. As quoted
above, Kant thought that luck should not be the basis of judgement. He would
have said that actions would be criticized if they turned out bad. However, by luck
it can turn out well. Kant s view appears incorrect but it answers the problem about

Dry eye is a chronic and progressive disease of the ocular surface that affects 30%
of the worldwide, aging population.1 According to the 2007 International Dry Eye
Workshop (DEWS), dry eye is defined as a multifactorial disease that results in
symptoms of discomfort, visual disturbance, and tear film instability.2 Risk factors
include, but are not limited to: female gender, age, contact lens wear, systemic
disease, use of medications and refractive surgery. Dry eyeis an umbrella term
encompassing the two most common etiological categories: aqueous deficient dry
eye and evaporative dry eye. Both are diagnosed based on patient signs and
symptoms. While there is no definitive diagnostic test to classify dry eye, multiple
factors can be taken into consideration to provide a diagnosis. With that, adequate
treatment and management of the disease can be prescribed. The following case
report is an overview of current diagnostic techniques and treatments.

Corporate social responsibility is a concept whereby companies integrate social and
environmental concerns in their business activities and in interaction with their
stakeholders on a voluntary basis. In this global context, voluntary social and
environmental practices of business, going beyond companies existing legal
obligations, can play a major role in filling the governance gap in an innovative way.
The sector is characterized by controls across the entire value chain of sugar
production and sale, which not only hampers its efficiency but also exacerbates the
cyclicality in sugar and sugarcane production. The growth and development in sugar
sector in the country in general and in the state of Uttar Pradesh in particular has
multiple linkages with social, economic and environmental issues. The purpose of
this study is to conduct a triple bottom line assessment of sugarcane value chain and
suggest alternatives that could improve the current sustainable practices of CSR
across various stakeholders.

included muggings and even individuals who were protecting their property being
killed. The common anger of the rioters which was originally the police then shifted
