documentary focused on how processed foods and fast food are typically less expensive than

family is aware that the father who has diabetes needs a healthier diet with more fresh, but they
are forced to buy foods they can afford. As the film implies people with lower incomes are more

ready to discuss what each member understood from the article. After a group discussion of the
article, another member suggested that each member select a question they felt comfortable
answering and presenting in class. The group members also agreed a deadline as to when

that they were being judged and everyone was able to share their opinion and views. As one

The term language describes any body of sounds, words, symbols or gestures used by specific
groups of people to communicate with each other (Language, n. d.). There are many types of
languages including speech, body language, sign language, and written languages such as
mathematics, music and symbols. Language has many functions that are determined by the mode in
which they are presented. The way language is conveyed can alter the intended meaning or context
for example a difference in tone can change a comment from complimentary to sarcastic.
Language is continuously evolving. An example of this is the short, abbreviated style we now use

First Day At Work It was my first day at work and I thought to myself, Is my hair straight? Are
these the right clothes? Are the people going to be mean? I walked in with confidence in my face
as the sliding doors opened for me. It was busy and every register was full of people. At least ten
customers were in each line. I walked in and walked to the supervisor. I m ready to work, I said
with a big smile. He looked at me as welcoming as ever and walked me over to behind the counter.
He gave me an old, plastic bag full of money and a solid, black register tray that looked well used.
Count this, he said in a frantic manner as I heard a loud crash take place across the store.

situation? Hope was not given up by us persistent human beings and that is how artificial limbs
were thought of. Instead trying to get around, we thought of artificial legs to help those who have
lost them. Instead of only having one arm, we thought of artificial arms to be able to have two

about 500 years until it began to progress into something better. The next wave of prosthesis came
from Ambroise Pare, a Frenchman born in 1510. He was a surgeon for the French Army and was

Dramatic Lyrics which included the two poems Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess . In
Porphyria s Lover Browning gives the reader a dramatic insight into the twisted mind of an

A heart how shall I say? too soon made glad,
Too easily impressed; she liked whate er
She looked on, and her looks went everywhere
In both poems, there are similarities in the narrator s attitudes towards their women. Both narrators
show an unnatural possessiveness towards them, presenting an unattractive, all encompassing
jealousy that wanted to eclipse all other interests that their women may have. It means that in each
poem, the narrators end up killing their wives. In Porphyria s Lover , the narrator justifies his
actions by saying he wanted to preserve the perfect moment in time.
That moment she was mine, mine, fair
Perfectly pure and good:
At that point of pure passion, the narrator s lover belonged to him totally the repeated words mine,
mine emphasise this. To stop the struggles and conflicts that would prevent them from seeing each
other, he decided to kill her. His act of strangulation was a crime of passion it was not pre meditated.
By contrast, the death of the Duchess was a cold, calculated move by the Duke to remove the
source of his jealousy. She gave her favours to others too willingly, and did not value his nobility
and all that it stood for.
She thanked men, good! But thanked
Somehow I know not how as if she ranked
My gift of a nine hundred years old name
With anybody s gift.
