someone must first take out the original written portion where Westley reveals his
identity to Buttercup. After someone mentally erases everything that happened
after Westley fell down the ravine, they can now think of all of the different

In chapter eight of The Prince, by Niccolo Machiavelli, he encourages the reader
that if you want your country to be successful than you should be wicked and use
evil. Therefore, what Machiavelli is trying to get across Lorenzo the Magnificent
s head is that if you choose not to be harsh and demanding, than the people will see
you as weak and take you over. In the book Machiavelli persuades the reader about
how one should use evil by introducing the examples about Agathocles and
Oliverotto da Fermo. These two leaders saw the same thing that Machiavelli saw, to

Societal Expectations
Just as humanity has always seen itself as an orphan bereft of family ,
Mesopotamians believed that humanity differed from animals and the supernatural
and could not be placed into either of those classifications (Harari 11). Humans were
granted more knowledge than animals and the ability to understand the world around
them, but for some aspects, were unable to do anything about it. As Benjamin Foster
writes in his The Person in Mesopotamian Thought , human beings unlike animals
[had to] learn to live with the advance knowledge that they will die, though without
knowing when or how (Foster 118). Gods and demons, on the other hand, were
incapable of dying, but animals were unaware of their inevitable deaths. However,
the reconciliation of that inevitability was not always easy for humans. In the Epic
of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh tries to find a fountain of youth following the death of his
best friend, Enkidu, but was unsuccessful as it did not exist for mortals. Unlike
animals and demons, humans were expected to live with justice (Foster 118). Nature
does not exhibit justice, as biologically, organisms are not endowed with rights like
life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness (Harari 97).
Since humans are not omniscient, their sense of justice was served in the best way
they could think of. For the most part, justice was based on the concept of
reciprocity which is an imagined order (Harari 118). Reciprocity, or the concept of
trading equivalent goods, services, etc. between people, only works as long as both
parties believe in the equivalence between the two things. In relation to justice,
reciprocity best manifests itself through the writings of The Code of Hammurabi
and the Sultantepe Tablets. In The Code of Hammurabi, the value of a human life
is defined. The kidnap of the youngest child in a family results in the death of the
perpetrator of the crime (Roth 84). This equates the value of the life of a criminal
to the value of the potential of a child. The Code continues by stating that if a slave
of any kind leaves through the city gates by the help of a free person, that free person

This uncludes durable goods, consumer products, and services. This is an important
factor because it is an included measure of GDP, and the figure acts an indicator for
economic trends. How much consumers spend also has an affect on inflationary
pressures. Goods or products make up nearly one fourth of the US economy.
4. Durable Goods are the hard goods that yield utility over time, rather than being
completely consumed all at once. Some examples of durables goods are automobiles,
jewelry, and furniture. Although this is the smallest category (only 7%), it still has
an impact on GDP.
5. Nondurable Goods are soft goods or consumables, which are goods that need
replaced immediately or are used all at one time. Examples of nondurable goods
are food and clothing. These goods also make up a small portion (16%), however,
still important to GDP. 6. Services are explained as the non material equivalent of a
good. Service provision has been defined as an economic activity that does not
result in ownership. No transfer of possession takes place when services are sold.
Examples of such are financial services or healthcare. Nearly half (47%) of US GDP
is made up services, not products. This makes this portion very important.

economics, food, ect. Perhaps the most well know practise of the Mursiis their use of
lip plates worn by the women of the tribe. This is followed by their unique connection

battling. These practises have become emblematic of their culture, and allow the
Mursi to identify with one another in these aspects, and differentiate themselves from
other tribes.
The well known lip plates are given to a girl at 15 16 years of age and is a tradition
that goes back hundreds of years. Today deciding whether or not to get a lip plateis a
can be life changing to the girl. Many women decide not to get lip plates, this is to
be able to attend markets with other neighboring tribes and not be discriminated
against. The women of the Mursi who have lip plates are judged and ridiculed
when going to markets, and outside their tribes region. However, this decision

unethical as demonstrated in the Ford Pinto Case. Ford did not reveal all the facts

justify their decision to sell an unsafe car by using a Cost Benefit Analysis which
determined it was cheaper to sell the cars without changing to a safer gas tank. The

There are a few concerns about harmful behavior of the FMC that should be
discussed. A behavior is harmful when it wrongfully sets back the interest of

stake are the interests of Pinto passengers and drivers of other vehicles who
certainly are not willing to risk their lives so Ford can make an extra buck. Everyone
has an interest in not getting injured or killed. Setting back the interest of consumers
