Andrew Jackson And The Whig Party Essay
The Whig Party evoked on a Jeffersonian tradition of compromise, balance in
government, and territorial outreach combined with national solidarity. The Whigs
casted their enemy as King Andrew , they identified themselves as constituents of
modern day opponents of governmental overreaching. They feared that Andrew
Jackson was taking up too much strength and power, it left unchecked, turn himself
into king. A handful of Whigs especially worried that Jackson, as a former military
general, would use the military to centralize his power. The Whigs, as a result, would
continue to infer that the legislature should have the most power in government.
On the other hand, the Democrats adhered to a strong executive. America during the

Network Attacks Using New And Effective Modern Day...
The primary objective of this project is to detect and mitigate various network
attacks using new and effective modern day technologies. 1) Software Defined
Networking (SDN) is one of the start of art technology that will be used in this
project to mitigate the attacks like Denial of Service attacks. 2) It will also help in
controlling the data and control plane of the networking devices, which will enable
more options to enhance the security. Implementation of security measures in SDN
can free a network from several network attacks like Denial of Service (DoS)
attacks. Another point to be noted is that, if an administrator had to upgrade the
security measures in a traditional network, he would have to configure all the
networking equipment separately with the required security measures. If the
administrator needs to make any future changes to the network, he would have to
again have to update on each and every device separately. This method demands a
lot of resources and time. But the implementation of these security measures in a
SDN controller can lead to updating all the devices in the network at one go. This
leads to mitigating different kinds of network attacks at one go. This is the objective
of this project. 1.4 Literature Survey: A. Software Defined Networking (SDN): The
implementation of this project makes use of a lot of modern technologies. However,
the state of art technology in this project is Software Defined Networking [1]. In the

Outliers Gladwell Analysis
Gladwell presents a strong argument for concerted cultivation in comparison to
natural growth in his book Outliers. The Trouble With Geniuses, chapter two of
Outliers He introduces us to new groups of Outliers which fall into the category of
genius. In this essay I will define purpose, voice, audience and context used in the
chapters describing the troubles related to geniuses. Gladwell s purpose for writing
the chapters on The Trouble with Geniuses was to give another set of examples as to
how circumstances and opportunity, along with the family support is responsible for
the success of a person and to point out society continues to misunderstand what a
real outlier is. The author continues to build on the theme from the first... Show more

Viking Women Played A Big Part On Viking Society
Viking women played a big part on Viking society. They were treated with respect
by the men in her society. The Viking women s life was usually quite good. They
were granted many privileges, even though the women were treated well and
granted a lot of things they were not allowed to join raids or any trading adventure.
They were also not permitted to do many other things such as; having short hair,
carrying swords, or axes, and were not allowed to dress as any man would. When
the men travelled they where expected to work on the farm, cook, prepare food,
manage the stock levels in winter, smoke the fish and meats, make broth, bake
bread, produce Ale, make clothes and keep the family healthy. The women would
grow up just like the men of her village learning to live off the land and be self
sufficient. In Viking community the girl was expected to marry between the ages
of 12 and 15, run a household and have children of their own. Most marriages
where arranged but some girls got to pick who would be their husband if they were
lucky. In the marriage the women would have much responsibility and could
divorce her husband if she pleased. If the family was poor and had no slaves or
servants the men and women s work would be fairly even and the women would
have to do a lot more than the richer women. If the family did own slaves or
servants the women could fire the servant or hire them if she wished. If the slave had
a child the child would automatically become the property of the
Secrets and Lies Essay
Is this Life? Resolutions, Humour and Family in Mike Leigh s Secrets Lies In this
essay I would like to argue that in Secrets and Lies Mike Leigh is suggesting that
secrets cause tensions in families and destroys relationships between family
members. Firstly, I would like to consider that it is actually true according my own
experience because there is been some lies and hidden secrets in my family as well
and once they are exposed, it causes embarrassments to those whom are affected.
Secondly, I believe secrets can form a negative and positive impact once they are
exposed because, it can be a turning point where families consider reuniting and leave
the past behind which obviously happens in Secrets and Lies. Sometimes it happens...

This reflects to Rosenbaum s quote where he asks himself why Why, then, have I
liked Secrets and Lies so much that I ve been able to see it three times with
pleasure, and found it as gripping the third time as the first? (Rosenbaum) It is
how Leigh let his actors create an environment he looking for, says the author! In
my opinion, I believe Rosenbaum is amazed about Leigh s work because, the
producer reveals how he simply does to make his movies become independent . I
assume that most producers scribble down a script and give it to their actors when
it s done and here Leigh does the opposite and the results prove to come out great.
In this paragraph, I emphasize on the difference between Secrets and Lies in and
Hollywood movies and what others say about his work. Rosenbaum argues that,
Set Secrets and Lies alongside most recent Hollywood pictures it looks like a
masterpiece, but considered in relation to the best of Leigh say, Meantime or
Grown ups or High Hopes or the best of recent non Hollywood films, it looks rather
thin. (Rosenbaum) As the author puts it, Secrets and Lies don t have enough
detailed information to be classified as one of Leigh s best movies because, he
claims that it not one that sticks in one s

Chapter 12 Assessing International Markets
Chapter 12 Assessing International Markets 4. Do a country s imports completely
measure the market potential for a product? Why or why not? A country s imports
only partially measure the market potential for a product. A product might be
imported with the intention to sell at stores like Target Stores, but because of
various reasons, the product may not have done well in those markets and ended up
in liquidation and sold at a Dollar Store. Reasons such as poor marketing efforts,
lack of foreign exchange may have made it difficult to initiate a roll out of the
product, the expense of transportation of the product as well as duties and the
inevitable markups that imports incur (304). There are other variables that can affect

Dr Sapolsky Baboon
1. Dr. Sapolsky s research in the Masai Mara National Park of Kenya involved
collecting blood samples from baboons to measure hormones involved in the stress
response. After anaesthetizing the baboon in an unassuming way (to avoid hormones
produced from anticipatory stress) he collected blood samples from their bodies.
What he observed was adrenaline and glucocorticoids dictate the stress response. The
physiological changes to the body during the stress response are the lungs work
overtime to deliver oxygen to the bloodstream, and the heart races to pump oxygen
throughout the body so muscles respond instantly. The blood pressure needs to go up
to deliver energy. The body will turn off anything that is not essential at that moment.

b) The Dutch Hunger Winter is an example of how stress damages us before we are
aware of its presence. Tessa Roseboom concluded our bodies respond to famine in
the same way they respond to other stressors, so she endeavored to research if the
fetuses of the women pregnant during the famine could be affected by stress. She
identified over 2400 people who could have been impacted. Her research revealed
the stresses they underwent as fetuses still impacted them 60 years later. Babies
conceived during the famine have increased risk of cardiovascular disease, higher
hypercholesterolemia, are generally more responsive to stress and are in poorer
health than people born before the famine or conceived after it. Stress hormones in
the mother s blood triggered a change in the fetus nervous system as it struggled to
survive. This was the fetus first experience with stress, and 60 years later their
bodies remembered the trauma. Her discoveries shed light on how it is not just fat
cells that build up in response to stress; brain chemistry, the capacity and ability to
adapt to stress, and how prone one is to psychiatric disorders are all things affected
by our earliest interactions with

Building A Mobile Application For Their Company
Many small business companies are faced with the decision on whether or not to
build a mobile application for their company. Mobile applications can provide their
prospective customers, the ability to scan barcodes, be able to view the details of
products, and purchase those products thought the mobile application. There are a
many factors that need to be considered before you make this decision. In this essay,
a business case of this will be presented and a recommendation will be made on the
way forward for the company.

2.Attaching each product with a note containing all the details of the product. This
will make it easier for those who can afford a mobile with barcode scanner or a gadget
which can scan the barcodes of products.
Feasibility analysis
According to Hu Mousavinezhad (2013), developing the mobile application will
feasible and viable since almost everyone uses a phone and this will be very easy
and convenient to just install the mobile application on the phone and thus can scan
the barcodes of the products. The Introducing an electronic gadget that can scan
barcodes is feasible to some extent since it will be a specialized product for that
purpose but in terms of the extra cost to the consumers it may be a project that will
fail. Attaching each product with a note containing all the details of the product may
also be a feasible idea but it s only that this may affect the look and cover image of
the product i.e. text books.
The cost of ownership of the mobile application
The cost of ownership of the mobile application to be introduced is determined in
terms of the direct and indirect costs that are associated with it. The direct cost on
this is the purchase of the mobile phone with this application. The indirect cost is the
associated cost such as the cost of recharging the battery since the laser powered
The Game Of A Game
Camping. It s the art of sitting your butt in one spot, shooting unsuspecting players
as they run by. Most players condemn this approach to a game. I hear guys online
complaining about it all the time. But what I don t hear are their reasons for
hating this type of game play so much. What would like their opponents to do?
Would they like them to run out in the open with their heads between their legs so
they can be effortlessly picked off? I know it s a game everyone, but most games
do their best to make things seem as real as possible. Game developers go to great
lengths to provide games with accurate physics and realistic graphics. These
realistic features are implemented into the game because part of the fun of playing
the game is imagining that it s all real. If it really was real, I guarantee EVERYONE
would be campingtheir asses off, afraid to step out in the open only to be shot dead.
I applaud the campers. They have realized something that is widely known to all
military strategists. It is far easier to defend a position than it is to take one.
Therefore, campers give themselves a distinct advantage over dumber players who
run aimlessly about the map in search of a kill. Anti campers will argue that if
everybody camped, the game would be boring. I say the opposite is true. If
everybody camped, dying would occur just as infrequently as killing. Earning a kill
and getting killed would become much more significant. In a game that is decided by
kills and deaths,
Pirates Of The Caribbean At World s End Analysis
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s End Evaluation Swashbuckling action and
fierce battle scenes are abundant in the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Pirates
of the Caribbean: At World s End is an action adventure film that follows the story of
Captain Jack Sparrow, William Turner, and Elizabeth in their adventures on the
Caribbean Sea. It is the third film in the series and concludes the Davy Jonesand East
India Trading Company story arc. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s End is the
best movie in the franchise because it fleshes out existing characters while staying
true to their original characterization, has an interesting and cohesive narrative, and
makes excellent use of special effects. The film believably adds to the motivations
and actions of the characters. For instance, in the first two films Captain Jack
Sparrow struggles with whether to do what is right or to do what he wants. In the
first movie, he saves Elizabeth from drowning, but then threatens her in an escape
attempt. In the second film, he is willing to send one hundred people to Davy
Jones to save himself from having to serve aboard Jones ship. In this film, he has
the opportunity to become the immortal captain of the Flying Dutchman. Jack
Sparrow loves the sea and the freedom it gives him, but he gives up this chance to
allow Will Turner to live. He chooses to do the right thing at the end of this film,
showing that he is deep down a good man, albeit with many vices. Elizabeth also

Essay on The Scientific Revolution
Throughout the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, radical and controversial ideas
were created in what would become a time period of great advances. The Scientific
Revolution began with a spark of inspiration that spread a wild fire of ideas through
Europe and America. The new radical ideas affected everything that had been

radical and innovative than any of the political revolutions of the seventeenth century.

Nicholas Coperincus (1473 1543) was born in Poland where he studied mathematics
and astronomy. In 1504, Copernicus began writing his famous novel De
Revolutionibus Orblum Coelestium; however it was not published until after his
death, due to the radical ideas that were contained inside.4 Copernicus was a man of
great intelligence and his ideas changed scientists minds about astrology. In his book,
he discussed his ideas of the Earth not being the center of the universe, but instead
that the Earth revolves around the Sun. At the time of Copernicus book being
published, little controversy was created. It was not until a half century later; it
became an extremely controversial concept. It was seen as an influence that went
against religious views.5
The most influential piece of Copernicus ideas is the Copernican Revolution, a
revolution in ideas, a transformation in man s conception of the universe and of his
own relation to it. 6 Copernicus wanted to increase the accuracy of astronomical
theory through describing the roles of the Sun and Earth together, as well as their
individual roles. A reform in the fundamental concepts of the two essential planets
was the first part of the Copernican Revolution. Copernicus ideas of astrology led to
many other important people involved in the revolution to form new understandings
of nature and man s role in it.
One man who used the influence of past ideas was Tycho Brahe (1546 1601).
The Wide Awake Princess Essay
The Wide Awake Princess is a series of fairy tale novels by popular American author
E.D Baker. While Baker is one of the most prolific writers in the genre the Wide
Awake Princess series of novels is one of her most popular. She published the first
novel in the series, The Wide Awake Princess in 2010 and over the next 6 years,
she published 6 more titles. The Wide Awake series unlike the typical Princess story
is a narrative told from the perspective of Sleeping Beautywithout the magicpowers.

to break magical spells. Traveling to exotic and far flung kingdoms, Annie who is

Baker is one of the very first authors to put a spin on the Sleeping Beauty fantasy
novels by making the lead character not a sleeping princess. Princess Annie does
not have the magical powers that Gwendolyn her sister or other princesses and
princes in other kingdoms have. The lack of the mystical powers not only makes
her look ordinary but also makes her impervious to spells and curses. However, the
lack of magical powers turns out to be a curse and a blessing. For instance, when a
cursed spinning well pricks her sister Gwendolyn s finger, the entire castle is sent
into a deep sleep except for her. With the kingdom at its most vulnerable, the curse
becomes a blessing given that an awake Annie can work out ways of breaking the
curse. Our protagonist is an intelligent, kind and admirable alternative to the usual
flawless princess fantasy that most authors serve up. While she was not born with
the beautiful looks and magical powers of a princess, over the series she develops
a skill set and personality that make it possible for her to navigate a wide variety of
situations and gain favor. While she is always reminded that she does not fit the
princess ideal, she finds it easy to tri up love and admiration from persons who value
her for herself rather than the physical attributes. Her quest also sees her have a lot of
humorous fun that is normally reserved for the more beautiful members of the royal

Analysis of the Painting Late Northern Song emperior...
Cranes above Kaifeng or Auspicious Cranes is a hand scroll attributed to one of
the most artistic important figure: Late Northern Song Emperor Huizong (Sturman,
1990). This painting was made to commemorate a rare phenomenon where 20
cranes flying on the sky above the main gate of the palace, Kaifeng, on the day of
Lantern Festival on the year 1112. This phenomenon was believed as a Mandate of
Heaven under the rule of Emperor Huizong (IBID). This auspicious phenomenon,
however, might not be as magical as it seems since Cranes above Kaifeng mirrors
Emperor Huizong s 3 aspects of painting that shows Emperor Huizong s power on art
during his sovereignty. Firstly, auspicious phenomenon mentioned before is known as
ruiying in Chinese. It is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words, although he promoted realism, Cranes above Kaifeng is still
subjected to interpretation. In the painting, the cranes were dancing in an elegant
and formally choreographed dance above the city gates among the magical clouds
(Ars orientalis). Seeing this, it might not be convincing to say that the painting is
based on a real life event since it is close to impossible for the cranes to dance in an
exact beautiful formation. Although, it is not unlikely that Huizong did see cranes
above the city gates but he saw or imagine them as if they were dancing instead of
just flying through. Intentionally or not, he then depicted the event so beautifully
in the hand scroll and interpreted it as Mandate of Heaven. Furthermore, during
Huizong s reign, he focused a lot on these auspicious signs and even developed a
record of these by having the citizens to report the sightings (ars orientalis). It was
like a documentation of the blessings that were given to the Song (kertas
selembar). This system, however, made it seems like these auspicious events were
forced and did not happen naturally. This is quite fascinating because it seemed like
Huizong wanted to control Heaven s blessings and as long as the people believed
him, it did not really matter whether those auspicious events were not true. The
documentation or record that was produced acted like evidence that Song is blessed
and Huizong was indeed a legitimate leader. This
The Characteristics Of The Hero Of Beowulf
To know whether someone is a hero or not the first thing you need to know is;
what is a hero? The Merriam Webster dictionary defines a hero as someone who is
a mythological or legendary figure often divine in descent endowed with great
strength. Beowulf is embodied as a hero who fought for his people and defeated
evil with his immortal powers that he used to bring peace and justice. He constantly
showed virtues admirable of any man especially during the Anglo Saxon time
period; he was wise, noble, and brave and was a true hero. Following the ways of
comitataus, Beowulfoften has to suppress his internal natural human fears and live
up to what was expected of an Anglo Saxon warrior. Beowulf is constantly dealing
with a dual ordeal from external battles with supernatural demons and pressure
from those around him to internal battles caused by natural human tendencies of
pride, greed, cowardice, betrayal, and self concern, throughout his life. Beowulf
was a very important hero of the time who accomplished many impressive feats
and was revered. Beowulf was never afraid to die: Life doesn t cost him a thought!
Bravery was a greater aspect of Beowulf s heroic traits. He faced many external
battles with vicious opponents and was very brave to fight Grendel. He could have
stayed in his country but instead he decided to help King Hrothgar and his people by
fighting a monster he knew nothing about, Grendel and his mother. Grendel was a
tremendously feared monster by
Literary Analysis Of The Rapunzel Movie
Literary Analysis essay about Rapunzel Movie
According to the Rapunzel movie, it is not a true story but everyone like this movie.
This is interesting movie and it hits to girls especially children. The most attractive
thing is Rapunzel s golden long hair in the whole movie. In the movie, we can see
that is the long hair harmful or helpful for Rapunzel.
Once upon a time, a drop of the sun falls on Earth and grows a magic golden flower
with the ability to heal the sick and injury. Mother Gothel sees the flower and hides
it. And then she finds that when she sings to the flower, she rejuvenates. Centuries
pass and a kingdom is raised in the place where the flower is hidden. When the
beloved Queen is about to have a baby, she gets sick and the only hope to save her
is to find the magic flower. But Mother Gothel does not want to share the sun s gift
and keeps the flower hidden. However, the spot is found and the magic of the golden

said that this place is save for you, do not go outside . When we see this two
conversations, Rapunzel is a naГЇve girl. She do not even touch the ground from
outside of the castle. Her life is gone in the castle. She is so simple and innocent
girl. She do not know the human tricks especially her mother, Gothel. In Rapunzel
point of view, her mother is a very good mother for her. She love her. But our point
of view, her mother is a cruel mother for Rapunzel.
One day, when the thief, cheater and liar Flynn Rider steals the crown with two
bandits, he is chased by the royal guard. However, he doubled crosses the other
thieves and flees, and climbs the tower to hide. When he reach inside the tower,
Rapunzel hits him with a frying pan and hides his satchel into the pot. When she look

Internal And External Locus Of Control
In the context of locus of control, internal and external locus of control are two
characteristics that influence students success and failure. Those characteristics have
been explained by some experts and there are some comparisons which have been
done related to the aspects of internal and external locus of control. Obviously, there
is no specific hypothesis related to aspects of locus of control, but Burger
(1983:76) categorizes three factors as the aspects of locus of control: perception of
internal control, perception of controlled by powerful others, and perception of
chance. However, Gihonsooly and Sihirvan (2011:240) have summarized some
researches about locus of control related on individuals behavior in some aspects
such as anxiety, academic procrastination and so on in table 5 below:
Those comparisons above represent the three aspects of locus of control; perception
of internal control, perception of LOC that is controlled by powerful others, and
perception of chance, which can be differentiated into 5 sub aspects such as ability,
responsibility, change, environment and stress (student s stress). Those sub aspects
above will be the indicators of locus of control. ... Show more content on

Essay On Smitten Ice Cream
I doubt that you have taste buds. The rather offensive comment was what my friend
heard from a stranger who overheard our conversation at Patricia s Green in Hayes
Valley. My friend just admitted that he was not a huge fan of Smitten Ice Cream, a
local nitrogen ice cream shop located in San Francisco. It was almost unacceptable
not to be in love with such rich and creamy thing nitrogen icecream often referred as
revolution of ice cream among San Franciscans. I loved living in Hayes Valley
because it had Smitten. On the weekends, I would go to the ice cream place
converted from an old shipping container. What was special about Smitten is that it
has a viewing area for customers to enjoy watching their orders being prepared with
fog oozing out like in a chemistry experiment. The secret of Smitten lies with that fog
of liquid nitrogen. Smitten always had four flavors: Classic Vanilla and TCHO
chocolate were the fixed. The other two depended on the ingredients they had that
day. Besides Brown sugar with cinnamon shortcake , which... Show more content on

Ice cream is rather a complex mixture of different particles interacting with each
other to create unique properties of the food. The first component ice crystals are
formed when water in ice cream base freezes. The key to make smooth ice cream is
to prevent ice crystals to form in big size during freezing. Rapid freezing and
constant churning of base lead water contents to form many minute sized crystals.
The texture of ice cream with many smaller ice crystals is better than that with
fewer big crystals. Also, by reducing the amount of water in the base that will be
formed into ice crystals by increasing other ingredients such as milk fat, sugar and
other solids can be a way. However, while normally water takes up 60% of ice cream

War Between Ethiopians and Eritreans Essay
War Between Ethiopians and Eritreans
On May 6th 1998, Ethiopian and Eritrean patrols engaged in an all out battle. While
it may not have been the shot heard round the world , it certainly was a shot the
disrupted a previously peaceful vicinity. It was also a shot that completely changed
the Horn of Africa, and permanently disrupted Ethiopian economy. It was also a shot
that interrupted the young life of Benyam Berhe. Benyam Berhe experienced this
war in a way completely unique from anyone else in the United States, because he
lived it. America hasn t seen foreign troops on its soil since the war of 1812.
Americans cannot possibly relate to hearing mortar fire from our very own homes.

The Eritrean Nakfa is a hundred times more worthless than the Birr of Ethiopia. Yet
the Eritrean protested that the exchange rate should be one for one. When this
movement was stopped suddenly and concisely by the Ethiopian government, the
Eritreans attempted to take some Ethiopian controlled boarder land. This led to armed
retaliation by the Ethiopian government and eventually led to an all out war.
Benyam also said that the majority of the fighting was done within a matter of days.
The Ethiopians elected not to continue the fighting that could have led all the way to
Asmara, (the capital of Eritrea). America wanted the Ethiopians to stop however,
and so they stopped any further invasion plans. Benyam went on to say that a lot of
the fighting was done by the vastly superior aircrafts on Ethiopia s side, that they
(Ethiopia) bombed quickly and efficiently. He went on to mention that while some
Eritreans were deported, they were mostly spies. Also that what was not reported
was the fact that many Ethiopians were tortured before they got released and
deported from Eritrea. It seems that a lot of the mainstream media, especially the
BBC failed to report that. Benyam proved to be an invaluable resource in his first
hand experience with the Eritrean Ethiopian conflict and I referred to him often for
further information.

The Consumption of Tobacco Products
In the 1930 s cigarette smoking was looked upon as alluring. The well to do
beautiful, who s who, type of people flaunted their smoking habit. The first
Surgeon General s Report on smoking and health was released in 1964. In today s
society, smoking is not so attractive... It is strange to watch movies of years gone by
when Hollywood stars would pose as smokers in a setting such as a hospital,
restaurant, or airport. While the Marlboro man would ride horseback across the

The Revolution Of The Soviet Revolution
Many historians agree that Vladimir Lenin was one of the most motivating
revolutionaries in the history of the world. Once Lenin became a statesman he lost
focus on how to run a country, and he lacked a plan. Lenin s greatest achievements
were in fact during the struggle for power in Russia, and not during his time as leader
of the USSR. His leadership in the revolutionary Bolshevik party served as an
important model for later revolutionary leaders of the 20th century. Lenin s works
made important contributions to the development of revolutionary socialist theory.
Many may feel that Lenin had little impact on the rest of the world, but this is frankly
just not true. Through the Bolshevik Revolution, Lenin brought about the USSR and
the basic idea of communism. Lenin had bright ideas for the future of the USSR, and
was disappointed when he saw people like Joseph Stalin turning the nation into an
controlling dictatorship. Lenin thoroughly enjoyed bringing about the idea of
Leninism to the Russian republic. In the postscript to his brochure, The State and
Revolution, Lenin wrote, It is more pleasant and useful to go through the experience
of revolution than to write about it. Vladimir Leninwas most likely one of the few
men that could have executed the Bolshevik Revolution successfully. Lenin s
devotion to his ideals was shown by the fact that he continued to run the revolution
even when he was exile. Lenin was actually the only successful revolutionary to

teeth. You will find many dental clinics, but make sure that the dental doctors in these

circumstances. If you are eyeing for the best oral care then you should take into

clinics that have admirable facilities but the dental specialists there might not be

but the services and equipments in the clinic might not be as you would anticipate.

Risk-related Alcohol Consumption Influenced by...
Community services, health, and judicial systems are under strain from risk related
alcohol consumption and the associated behavioural and health problems (National
Health and Medical Research Council 2011). Australian Alcohol Guidelines
recommend drinking no more than 2 standard drinks per day for females, and no
more than 4 standard drinks per day for males (Commonwealth of Australia, 2013).
The guidelines also recommend at least 2 days free of alcohol per week
(Commonwealth of Australia, 2013). Therefore, binge drinking, alcohol dependence,
and alcohol abuseare risk related due to being in excess of the recommended
guidelines. Research has been conducted to ascertain contributing factors that
make one person more likely to consume alcohol at risk related levels than another.
Suffering abuse and, or neglect as a child has been determined to have strong
relationships with risk related alcohol use (Shin et al., 2013; Benjet et al., 2013;
Strine et al., 2009). Available research also shows how the age of first alcoholic
drink, the influence of peer pressure, and 3rd variable to balance and critique can
also be used to track trajectories for risk related alcohol consumption. According to
the Oxford dictionary; abuse is the subjection to cruelty or violence, especially
regularly or repeatedly , while neglect is the failure to care for a child (Oxford
University Press, 2014). Therefore, abuse and neglect can be categorised as
mistreatment. It will be argued that a

mortality rises with decreasing socio economic status. Three large sample studies,
one British and two American, brought together for their complementarity in samples,

physical and mental morbidity and in psychological well being. These gradients are
observed both with educational and occupational status and are not explained by
parents social status or lack of an intact family during childhood. They are also not
accounted for by intelligence measured in school. This suggests that indirect selection
cannot account for inequalities in health. Possible mediators that link social position
to physical and mental health include smoking and features of the psycho social
environment at work and outside. Increasing social inequalities in health in the
United States and elsewhere, coupled with growing inequalities in income and
wealth, have refocused
Similarities Between Touching Spirit Bear And Touching...
I ve never committed a crime, but author Ben Mikaelsen made me feel as if I was
right there in the library waiting for my final judgement for beating a poor little
kid. The book Touching Spirit Bear and its sequel The Ghost of Spirit Bear are
both books written by novelist Ben Mikaelsen about two boys and their
intertwined life. The first book takes place when teen delinquent Cole Matthews
beats up a boy at school named Peter for telling on him. Peter s injury leads to a
permanent speech impediment and because of this Cole goes to jail. When Cole s
probation officer, Garvey, tells about a tribal version of punishment called Circle
Justice, which is where the two people involved in the crime must heal together,
and move forward from their quarrel, Cole jumps at the idea to get out of jail.
When this doesn t work they decide to send Cole to an Alaskan island, which Peter
is eventually sent to. Eventually they become friends and they get past their
problems. It is the next book where they face challenges of going back to school and
fitting in.
There are several parallels between the two books. One such parallel is that in both
books Peter and Cole experience some form of hardship. On example is that in
Touching Spirit Bear on pages 246 and 247, it says, When Cole refused to fight back,
Peter grew bolder. Again and again he struck Cole with his bare fists. Cole raised
his arms to try to ward off the blows, but he didn t fight back, nor did he run. This

Observation Essay
Observation Essay The Barbershop
Immediately I recognized that things were different, as I struggled to find a
parking spot in the tiny lot hidden just off of the highway. The barbershop is
located in an area too small to be considered a strip mall and apparently too small to
handle all of its customers vehicles. It is the third in a row of three shops, although
the first, a former ice cream/water ice business, was for rent. I knew that all of the
drivers of the automobiles in the lot were in the barbershop, as the repair shop next
to it does not open until 9 A.M. Apparently all Saturday mornings here begin with
such a full parking lot. Once I found a parking spot, I was ready to begin my

A tiny television with a screen approximately six inches high, located in the middle
of the four barbers stations, was displaying CNN, but the sound was turned down.
When the razors stopped buzzing, the classic rock radio station seemed to blare
through the quiet. Despite the open door, the air conditioner was moaning softly in
the background.
I took this opportunity to examine my surroundings. To the right of the opened
front door was a gumball machine and a green leafy plant. The counter in front of
the door seemed to have no immediate purpose, except to hold another leafy plant
and some additional magazines that were strewn about it. Above the chairs where
I was sitting was a mirror, which I presume is used by the nervous customer who
wants to keep an eye on the way in which the barber cuts his hair. Another wall
sectioned off an area from the four barbers stations, which I knew to be the owner s
workspace. His station basically was set up as were the others, but he had more
room in which to work. There was one sink on the opposite side of his wall for use
in case a customer wanted a premium cut, which includes a shampoo and conditioning
wash or a color treatment. In the corner, between the sink and the fourth barber s
station, was the ATM, conveniently located next to the cash register. This is practical
because the barbershop only accepts cash for payment.

Qantas Workplace Diversity
Introduction
Traditionally, companies pursued the maximization of profit in which economic
activity has been their central focus. However, with this fast changing, culturally
diverse environment, companies have seen the importance of enhancing their
business reputation through effective business practices and effective communication
to their stakeholders and the whole community. Leading businesses are more visible
in the critical public eyes and the more powerful they are the more they are at risk to
scrutiny (Carroll and Buchholtz 2001, 6) Due to this, businesses nowadays are under
much greater pressure as business firms are bound to satisfy the rising expectations of
the public and at the same time meet the growing expectations of the increasing ...

Weather can affect human health in a variety of ways. For New Zealand, some of the
specific health issues that are linked to weather and climate include melanoma skin
cancer, weather sensitive rheumatism, asthma, Seasonal Affective Disorder, and
stress in farmers caused by weather extremes. Several studies have been done in New
Zealandinvestigating the link between particular health problems and the weather.
There are limitations to such studies, including the obstacle of trying to isolate cause

Because melanoma is a serious health concern in New Zealand, research has been
done exploring the malignancy. One specific study looked at the occurrence of
melanoma throughout New Zealand. They found that the highest rates generally
occurred on the North Island, while there tended to be lower rates on the South
Island. Although the rates of melanoma didn t correspond precisely with the hours of
sunlight that an area has, there was some relation between these two. Southland, the
southernmost region of New Zealand, has the least sunshine and was found to have
the lowest rate of melanoma. The study also found that the rate of melanoma in men
was significantly higher than that in women, and that the rate of melanoma increased
with age.1
In response to the health issues associated with exposure to the sun, New Zealand
has developed programs to educate people on the risks of solar radiation and the
precautions that can be taken. One such program is called SunSmart, and its goal
is to promote sun safety behaviors in New Zealand. Some statistics are posted on
their website regarding the effects of skin cancer in the country. These include the
fact that every year in New Zealand, about 50,000 new cases of skin cancer are
reported, close to 260 people die from the disease, and it costs the New Zealand
health system around 33 million dollars.3 Though New Zealand may be highly
susceptible to sun related skin cancer, it is still something that is generally

Archetypes In Ancient Greek Odyssey
Odyssey Report: Rough Draft
In Ancient Greek mythology there are many complex and intriguing archetypes, but
some were valued more than others. Archetypes were used often in stories from
Ancient Greece and in movies from the modern day. They are used extensively to
the point of being trite and clichГ©, but they always seem to work, almost as if we
feel like we share similarities with the character. All humans at some point
experience a sense of morality, like feeling bad for an ant you stepped on because it
had no way to defend itself. Since all humans experience this sense, would it not be
too far fetched to make characters act according to morals too? I will be explaining
three very different character archetypes in my essay: The Hero, The Innocent, and
The Antagonist. My topics are The Hero, The Innocent, and The Antagonist character
archetypes and the behaviors attributed to them.
Heros normally display qualities that most of us could only dream about, but the
skills Odyssey portrays aren t otherworldly or superhuman, they are cunning,
bravery, and honor. Odysseus s cunning is shown rather quickly with the escape
scene in The Cyclops where on page 571 and 572 it shows his ingenuity and
improvisational skills when he straps himself and his men to the bottom of
Polyphemus sheep and rams. This scene also shows his patience, which also is
collaborated with cunning by writers, with how he didn t panic when Polyphemus
stopped the ram he was hanging on because it was

ABSTRACT: In this paper, we are going to study about various tools and technique
of image processing which are now available for the detection or identification of the
printing technology. Now days, the identification in the printing technology and the
various problem which are associated with the document forensics have been a
major challenges in the image processing application. There are many approaches
on image processing which are based on HSV, spatial correlation, colour space,
texture. There are also some method for pattern recognition like, roughness of the
text, grey level co occurrence matrix, perimeter of edge is being highlighted. In this
paper, we have focused more on one of the recent contribution which is, Gaussian
Variogram Model (GVM) for the classification of the paper.
Index Terms Technique classification, document forensics printing, spatial statics,

Hunts In The Elizabethan Era
People in this time era likes to know the type of events and hunts that Queen
Elizabeth had back in her era. Back in this time there were many hunts but the main
hunts are the at force hunt and the stable and bow hunt. The at force hunt was for
active men men these men chase down wild animals like boars and kill them. Bow
and stable hunt are for women or less active men which were conducted on
horseback and chased the animals then corner them before they kill them. It was also
punishments for those who disobeyed and broke the laws. The punishment was for

game for young women and men. It also was many sports that they d had back in the

Database Management System For A Company
A research database management system (RDBMS) is the most used database
management system for a company. Its roots date back to 1970, created by E.F.
Codd at IBM. The database approach involves the storage of data involving tables.
Attributes of the tables involve rows, used as a record of an entity. Columns, also
attributes of the table, determine what will be recorded for that field. Within a
table one primary key will be found, this represents a unique column of the table. A
table may also have a foreign key, there can be more than one, and it identifies a
primary key of another table. Foreign keys allow for relationships between tables to
be created.
The RDBMS is so widely used because of its simplicity to understand relationships
between data. The data can also be analyzed in many ways using queries, reports, etc.
A database management system covers all functions of the business and is essential
for businesses to be run efficiently. Since the introduction of this time of database
management system in 1970 it has triumphed many former types of widely used
databases and fended off new types of databases to remain the most common type.
Times have changed in the information technology world since 1970 when IBM was
running the show and leading the world with improving and introducing new
technology. I believe the top five most used RDBMS used in the market today are
Oracle, Microsoft SQL server, IBM DB2, MySQL and PostgreSQL. Oracle database

Essay On Anne Sexton
A number of psychotherapists have explored the use of poems in psychotherapy as
an agent of communication between psychotherapists and client, says David
Lester and Rina Terry. Anne Sexton is a perfect example of the quote above
because she uses her poetry as a form of communication and as an outlet to
however she is feeling. In this paper four poems of Anne Sexton s work will be
used to support the quote above: Music Swims Back to Me , Wanting to Die , Her
Kind and The Room of My Life. These poems portray what Sexton was feeling and
going through at the time and also all four of the poems have a common theme.
David Lester and Rina Terry state, it is often easier to communicate important
messages either through their own poetryor through the poems of others. (David
Lester and Rina Terry) In these four poems, Sexton clearly is portraying her
deepest darkest thoughts and motifs that come out with her diagnosed depression.
As Doctor David Lester and Rina Terry say, poetry is an outlet for patients who
have trouble communicating their exact thoughts and feelings (David Lester and
Rina Terry). Poetry is a great outlet for them because it is a free way of expression
there is no limit to what you can and cannot write and more than likely the writers
feeling and emotions will come out. But Sexton found poetry as more of an artform
she dealt with so much more aside from her depression, sexton goes into life
experiences and her bad days versus her good days. Also, what

The greatest challenges we face has nothing to do with the season of the year, it is
with hospitals discharging patients more quickly to shorten the length of stay and the
acuity of the patients in the community are much higher which necessitates the
clinicians that are more skilled than ever. As of now they have to take care of patients
with tracheostomy, peg tube feeding, long term chest tubes, nephrostomy tubes and
ventilators and administer antibiotics. The job of the community health nurse is

Religion In Beowulf
Mythology is a series of stories made by one culture to entertain or to increase the
knowledge of their own beliefs to the world. Over the last few centuries, many
cultures have created stories to demonstrate their valiant strength or superiority
amongst other cultures. Not only that, but, they used these myths to increase faith in
their religions. Nevertheless you may find texts confusing because you many think it
is about a hero or the importance of religion. On an example, of a myth that has
received a large amount of criticism is the mythical story of Beowulf. In this literary
analysis you read the essence of the myth, and how the Christianity relates to the
development of the conflicts in the poem. In the myth Beowulf there are three... Show

Battle Of Thermopylae Essay
Herodotus The Battle of Thermopylae
In the spring of 480 BC the Persian army from all parts of the vast Persian Empire
concentrated at Abydos, near the Hellespont, in order to attempt the second attack
against Greece. Preparations of this campaign, started by Darius, and continued after
his death in 486 BC, his son Xerxes, heir to the throne of the Persian Empire. These
preparations, except the concentration of land and naval forces, included a parallel
diplomatic and intelligence movements, with a view to breaking down the Greek
cities, and avoiding the creation of a Greek coalition, which could cause problems in
the attack of the Persian forces.
Main source for the Greco Persian wars is the Greek historian Herodotus.
Herodotus, known as the Father of History , was born in 484 BC in Halicarnassus,
Asia Minor, which at that time was under Persian occupation. He wrote the play
Histories around 440 430 BC, trying to discover the real causes of Greco Persian
wars, which ended in 450 BC The method of Herodotus a novelty and ... Show more

Although Thermopylae constitutes a defeat of the Greeks, at least for the western
culture, they repeatedly receive praise for their participation in combat. It is clear
that the Greek strategy was to keep the Persians at Thermopylae and Artemisia
apparently did not want to hand over all Boeotia and Attica to the Persians. The
Greek position at Thermopylae, despite the small number of Greek troops, was
almost impregnable. While the Greeks managed to keep the Persians in Thermopylae
for even a short time, the Persians might have to retreat due to lack of food and
water. Thus, despite heavy losses, the destruction of a narrow Persian victory, tactics
and strategy. The successful retreat of the Greeks, despite the enhanced morale, not a
victory, although took some shine from the Persian
Essay about My Fantastic Freshmen Roommate
When I told people that I was going to Ball State University they then went on to
ask who I would be rooming with since lots of other people that I knew were going
here as well. I never wanted to room with my best friend or anyone that I knew
going into college. You always hear about awful roommmate stories but whose to
say that that happens to everyone. Pretty much everyone told me that if I chose a
random roommate It would most likely turn sour. They were so wrong. I was
determined to have a fresh start in collegeand meet new people so I was willing to
take that chance, and I m glad I did. Having heard these myths about college
roommates from so many previous students it did in fact affect my thoughts about
heading off to college. But... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once I had walked in the room I saw that Natali (my new roommate) had Harry
Potter posters plastered all along her side of the room. I knew at that moment that
we would get along just fine. Now not everyone will immediately feel the way I did
about Natali if you go in with the mindset that you will hate your roommate just from
everything that you have been told. The thing to remember is to go into it with an
open mind.
Natali was on her way out when I arrived to unpack all of my stuff.
Hey! I m Natali. Natali Bacon. Just hearing her last name made me laugh on the
inside. Other than the quick hellos that we exchanged earlier that day we didn t see
each other until later on that night. It was awkward to say the least almost like
when you are stuck in an elevator with a complete stranger, except permanently.
Things gradually got less weird as the night went on but for the most part you can
imagine that it was still pretty uncomfortable. We both gave it time and after
spending two full days inside together due to the scorching temperatures outside
we slowly found out how alike we were. We both loved the same TV shows like
New Girl, Dexter, and Breaking Bad. Literally we watched almost a complete
season of Dexter together before the first day of school even started. I just
remember thinking to myself during my first night at Ball State, I am so glad
everyone was wrong . Natali turned out to be a superb roommate. In the beginning I
wasn t looking for a roommate to be best
RenГѓВ© Descartes And The Evil Genius Argument
RenГ© Descartes, a 17th century philosopher developed theories about foundational
knowledge which questions everything we have ever thought to be true. In his first
meditation he makes two distinctly cogent arguments calling into question our basic
foundational knowledge. On the basis of deception, he creates two profound
arguments: the dream argument and the evil genius argument. While both arguments
seem to clearly show that we may be deceived in everything we do, my objections
lie in the possibility of achieving what he wants and whether he can even endorse his
own arguments conclusion. Although Descartes may be able to defend his method of
doubt, I will argue that it is impossible to address the objection that his own evil
genius claim undermines... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Given the evil genius capability of not only altering sensory information, but also
mathematical proofs and deceiving us on all basic fundamentals of logic, this all
powerful evil genius tears down everything Descartes has ever known to the point
of his own existence. My objection to Descartes meditation that prompts the
examination of his arguments conclusion revolves around the evil genius control
over Descartes himself. If this evil genius is all powerful in every aspect of
deception, then Descartes entire argument that there is an evil genius may be pre
mediated by another all powerful being to make Descartes come up with this
argument. If this all powerful being instilled these ideas in Descartes head in hopes
of publication, he may have created this argument to hide the real cause of
deception from him. In essence, the evil genius is so powerful that he caused
Descartes to think that there is an evil genius when in reality we are controlled by
something else. Knowing Descartes tendencies to dismiss the actual existence of an
evil genius, regardless of what is deceiving us, this all powerful being s ability to
deceive undermines Descartes entire argument. This skepticism objects to Descartes
final and strongest view that an evil genius is deceiving

The Whigs casted their enemy as King Andrew , they identified themselves as constituents of modern day opponents of governmental overreaching. They feared that Andrew Jackson was taking up too much strength and power, it left unchecked, turn himself into king. A handful of Whigs especially worried that Jackson, as a former military general, would use the military to centralize his power. • 3. Network Attacks Using New And Effective Modern Day... The primary objective of this project is to detect and mitigate various network attacks using new and effective modern day technologies. 1) Software Defined Networking (SDN) is one of the start of art technology that will be used in this project to mitigate the attacks like Denial of Service attacks. 2) It will also help in controlling the data and control plane of the networking devices, which will enable more options to enhance the security. Implementation of security measures in SDN can free a network from several network attacks like Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. Another point to be noted is that, if an administrator had to upgrade the security measures in a traditional network, he would have to configure all the networking equipment separately with the required security measures. If the administrator needs to make any future changes to the network, he would have to again have to update on each and every device separately. This method demands a lot of resources and time. But the implementation of these security measures in a SDN controller can lead to updating all the devices in the network at one go. This leads to mitigating different kinds of network attacks at one go. This is the objective of this project. 1.4 Literature Survey: A. In my opinion, I believe Rosenbaum is amazed about Leigh s work because, the producer reveals how he simply does to make his movies become independent . I assume that most producers scribble down a script and give it to their actors when it s done and here Leigh does the opposite and the results prove to come out great. Babies conceived during the famine have increased risk of cardiovascular disease, higher hypercholesterolemia, are generally more responsive to stress and are in poorer health than people born before the famine or conceived after it. Stress hormones in the mother s blood triggered a change in the fetus nervous system as it struggled to survive. Would they like them to run out in the open with their heads between their legs so they can be effortlessly picked off? I know it s a game everyone, but most games do their best to make things seem as real as possible. Game developers go to great lengths to provide games with accurate physics and realistic graphics. These realistic features are implemented into the game because part of the fun of playing the game is imagining that it s all real. If it really was real, I guarantee EVERYONE would be campingtheir asses off, afraid to step out in the open only to be shot dead. I applaud the campers. They have realized something that is widely known to all military strategists. It is far easier to defend a position than it is to take one. Therefore, campers give themselves a distinct advantage over dumber players who run aimlessly about the map in search of a kill. Anti campers will argue that if everybody camped, the game would be boring. I say the opposite is true. If everybody camped, dying would occur just as infrequently as killing. Earning a kill and getting killed would become much more significant. In a game that is decided by kills and deaths,

Princess Annie does not have the magical powers that Gwendolyn her sister or other princesses and princes in other kingdoms have. The lack of the mystical powers not only makes her look ordinary but also makes her impervious to spells and curses. However, the lack of magical powers turns out to be a curse and a blessing. In other words, although he promoted realism, Cranes above Kaifeng is still subjected to interpretation. In the painting, the cranes were dancing in an elegant and formally choreographed dance above the city gates among the magical clouds (Ars orientalis). Seeing this, it might not be convincing to say that the painting is based on a real life event since it is close to impossible for the cranes to dance in an exact beautiful formation. Although, it is not unlikely that Huizong did see cranes above the city gates but he saw or imagine them as if they were dancing instead of just flying through. Intentionally or not, he then depicted the event so beautifully in the hand scroll and interpreted it as Mandate of Heaven. Furthermore, during Huizong s reign, he focused a lot on these auspicious signs and even developed a record of these by having the citizens to report the sightings (ars orientalis). It was like a documentation of the blessings that were given to the Song (kertas selembar). This system, however, made it seems like these auspicious events were forced and did not happen naturally. This is quite fascinating because it seemed like Huizong wanted to control Heaven s blessings and as long as the people believed him, it did not really matter whether those auspicious events were not true. The documentation or record that was produced acted like evidence that Song is blessed and Huizong was indeed a legitimate leader. This

Those characteristics have been explained by some experts and there are some comparisons which have been done related to the aspects of internal and external locus of control. Obviously, there is no specific hypothesis related to aspects of locus of control, but Burger (1983:76) categorizes three factors as the aspects of locus of control: perception of internal control, perception of controlled by powerful others, and perception of chance. The rather offensive comment was what my friend heard from a stranger who overheard our conversation at Patricia s Green in Hayes Valley. Once Lenin became a statesman he lost focus on how to run a country, and he lacked a plan. Lenin s greatest achievements were in fact during the struggle for power in Russia, and not during his time as leader of the USSR. His leadership in the revolutionary Bolshevik party served as an important model for later revolutionary leaders of the 20th century. Lenin s works made important contributions to the development of revolutionary socialist theory. Many may feel that Lenin had little impact on the rest of the world, but this is frankly just not true. Through the Bolshevik Revolution, Lenin brought about the USSR and the basic idea of communism. Lenin had bright ideas for the future of the USSR, and was disappointed when he saw people like Joseph Stalin turning the nation into an controlling dictatorship. Lenin thoroughly enjoyed bringing about the idea of Leninism to the Russian republic. In the postscript to his brochure, The State and Revolution, Lenin wrote, It is more pleasant and useful to go through the experience of revolution than to write about it. Community services, health, and judicial systems are under strain from risk related alcohol consumption and the associated behavioural and health problems (National Health and Medical Research Council 2011). Australian Alcohol Guidelines recommend drinking no more than 2 standard drinks per day for females, and no more than 4 standard drinks per day for males (Commonwealth of Australia, 2013). The guidelines also recommend at least 2 days free of alcohol per week (Commonwealth of Australia, 2013). Therefore, binge drinking, alcohol dependence, and alcohol abuseare risk related due to being in excess of the recommended guidelines. Research has been conducted to ascertain contributing factors that make one person more likely to consume alcohol at risk related levels than another. Suffering abuse and, or neglect as a child has been determined to have strong relationships with risk related alcohol use (Shin et al., 2013; Benjet et al., 2013; Strine et al., 2009). Available research also shows how the age of first alcoholic drink, the influence of peer pressure, and 3rd variable to balance and critique can also be used to track trajectories for risk related alcohol consumption. I ve never committed a crime, but author Ben Mikaelsen made me feel as if I was right there in the library waiting for my final judgement for beating a poor little kid. The book Touching Spirit Bear and its sequel The Ghost of Spirit Bear are both books written by novelist Ben Mikaelsen about two boys and their intertwined life. The first book takes place when teen delinquent Cole Matthews beats up a boy at school named Peter for telling on him. Peter s injury leads to a permanent speech impediment and because of this Cole goes to jail. When Cole s probation officer, Garvey, tells about a tribal version of punishment called Circle Justice, which is where the two people involved in the crime must heal together, and move forward from their quarrel, Cole jumps at the idea to get out of jail. When this doesn t work they decide to send Cole to an Alaskan island, which Peter is eventually sent to. Eventually they become friends and they get past their problems. It is the next book where they face challenges of going back to school and fitting in. There are several parallels between the two books. One such parallel is that in both books Peter and Cole experience some form of hardship. On example is that in Touching Spirit Bear on pages 246 and 247, it says, When Cole refused to fight back, Peter grew bolder. Again and again he struck Cole with his bare fists. Cole raised his arms to try to ward off the blows, but he didn t fight back, nor did he run. This only made

I took this opportunity to examine my surroundings. To the right of the opened front door was a gumball machine and a green leafy plant. The counter in front of the door seemed to have no immediate purpose, except to hold another leafy plant and some additional magazines that were strewn about it. Above the chairs where I was sitting was a mirror, which I presume is used by the nervous customer who wants to keep an eye on the way in which the barber cuts his hair. Another wall sectioned off an area from the four barbers stations, which I knew to be the owner s workspace. His station basically was set up as were the others, but he had more room in which to work. There was one sink on the opposite side of his wall for use in case a customer wanted a premium cut, which includes a shampoo and conditioning wash or a color treatment. In the corner, between the sink and the fourth barber s station, was the ATM, conveniently located next to the cash register. This is practical because the barbershop only accepts cash for payment. Archetypes were used often in stories from Ancient Greece and in movies from the modern day. They are used extensively to the point of being trite and clichГ©, but they always seem to work, almost as if we feel like we share similarities with the character. All humans at some point experience a sense of morality, like feeling bad for an ant you stepped on because it had no way to defend itself. Since all humans experience this sense, would it not be too far fetched to make characters act according to morals too? I will be explaining three very different character archetypes in my essay: The Hero, The Innocent, and The Antagonist. • 43. Database Management System For A Company A research database management system (RDBMS) is the most used database management system for a company. Its roots date back to 1970, created by E.F. Codd at IBM. The database approach involves the storage of data involving tables. Attributes of the tables involve rows, used as a record of an entity. Columns, also attributes of the table, determine what will be recorded for that field. Within a table one primary key will be found, this represents a unique column of the table. A table may also have a foreign key, there can be more than one, and it identifies a primary key of another table. Foreign keys allow for relationships between tables to be created. The RDBMS is so widely used because of its simplicity to understand relationships between data. The data can also be analyzed in many ways using queries, reports, etc. A database management system covers all functions of the business and is essential for businesses to be run efficiently. Since the introduction of this time of database management system in 1970 it has triumphed many former types of widely used databases and fended off new types of databases to remain the most common type. The greatest challenges we face has nothing to do with the season of the year, it is with hospitals discharging patients more quickly to shorten the length of stay and the acuity of the patients in the community are much higher which necessitates the clinicians that are more skilled than ever. As of now they have to take care of patients with tracheostomy, peg tube feeding, long term chest tubes, nephrostomy tubes and ventilators and administer antibiotics. The job of the community health nurse is educate the family members how to take care of their loved one at home, and what to do when there is emergency there is always redundancy what to do when there is emergency. She gave the example of Hurricane sandy when they had to go visiting homes of patients who were oxygen dependent, ventilator patients and patients with special electronic beds and make sure they had electricity and if not they had to be moved to acute care center. For me that was the most challenging thing I faced in the community. This transcends any season. At the moment it is season change and we have to make sure our homebound citizens and senior citizens for getting

Battle Of Thermopylae Essay Herodotus The Battle of Thermopylae In the spring of 480 BC the Persian army from all parts of the vast Persian Empire concentrated at Abydos, near the Hellespont, in order to attempt the second attack against Greece. Preparations of this campaign, started by Darius, and continued after his death in 486 BC, his son Xerxes, heir to the throne of the Persian Empire. These preparations, except the concentration of land and naval forces, included a parallel diplomatic and intelligence movements, with a view to breaking down the Greek cities, and avoiding the creation of a Greek coalition, which could cause problems in the attack of the Persian forces. Main source for the Greco Persian wars is the Greek historian Herodotus. Herodotus, known as the Father of History , was born in 484 BC in Halicarnassus, Asia Minor, which at that time was under Persian occupation. He wrote the play Histories around 440 430 BC, trying to discover the real causes of Greco Persian wars, which ended in 450 BC The method of Herodotus a novelty and ... It is clear that the Greek strategy was to keep the Persians at Thermopylae and Artemisia apparently did not want to hand over all Boeotia and Attica to the Persians. The Greek position at Thermopylae, despite the small number of Greek troops, was almost impregnable. While the Greeks managed to keep the Persians in Thermopylae for even a short time, the Persians might have to retreat due to lack of food and water. Thus, despite heavy losses, the destruction of a narrow Persian victory, tactics and strategy. The successful retreat of the Greeks, despite the enhanced morale, not a victory, although took some shine from the Persian

Essay about My Fantastic Freshmen Roommate When I told people that I was going to Ball State University they then went on to ask who I would be rooming with since lots of other people that I knew were going here as well. I never wanted to room with my best friend or anyone that I knew going into college. You always hear about awful roommmate stories but whose to say that that happens to everyone. Pretty much everyone told me that if I chose a random roommate It would most likely turn sour. They were so wrong. I was determined to have a fresh start in collegeand meet new people so I was willing to take that chance, and I m glad I did. Having heard these myths about college roommates from so many previous students it did in fact affect my thoughts about heading off to college. But... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once I had walked in the room I saw that Natali (my new roommate) had Harry Potter posters plastered all along her side of the room. I knew at that moment that we would get along just fine. Now not everyone will immediately feel the way I did about Natali if you go in with the mindset that you will hate your roommate just from everything that you have been told. The thing to remember is to go into it with an open mind. Natali was on her way out when I arrived to unpack all of my stuff. Hey! I m Natali. Natali Bacon. Just hearing her last name made me laugh on the inside. Other than the quick hellos that we exchanged earlier that day we didn t see each other until later on that night. It was awkward to say the least almost like when you are stuck in an elevator with a complete stranger, except permanently. Things gradually got less weird as the night went on but for the most part you can imagine that it was still pretty uncomfortable. We both gave it time and after spending two full days inside together due to the scorching temperatures outside we slowly found out how alike we were. We both loved the same TV shows like New Girl, Dexter, and Breaking Bad. Literally we watched almost a complete season of Dexter together before the first day of school even started. I just remember thinking to myself during my first night at Ball State, I am so glad everyone was wrong . Natali turned out to be a superb roommate. In the beginning I wasn t looking for a roommate to be best
  • 49. RenГѓВ© Descartes And The Evil Genius Argument RenГ© Descartes, a 17th century philosopher developed theories about foundational knowledge which questions everything we have ever thought to be true. In his first meditation he makes two distinctly cogent arguments calling into question our basic foundational knowledge. On the basis of deception, he creates two profound arguments: the dream argument and the evil genius argument. While both arguments seem to clearly show that we may be deceived in everything we do, my objections lie in the possibility of achieving what he wants and whether he can even endorse his own arguments conclusion. Although Descartes may be able to defend his method of doubt, I will argue that it is impossible to address the objection that his own evil genius claim undermines... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Given the evil genius capability of not only altering sensory information, but also mathematical proofs and deceiving us on all basic fundamentals of logic, this all powerful evil genius tears down everything Descartes has ever known to the point of his own existence. My objection to Descartes meditation that prompts the examination of his arguments conclusion revolves around the evil genius control over Descartes himself. If this evil genius is all powerful in every aspect of deception, then Descartes entire argument that there is an evil genius may be pre mediated by another all powerful being to make Descartes come up with this argument. If this all powerful being instilled these ideas in Descartes head in hopes of publication, he may have created this argument to hide the real cause of deception from him. In essence, the evil genius is so powerful that he caused Descartes to think that there is an evil genius when in reality we are controlled by something else. Knowing Descartes tendencies to dismiss the actual existence of an evil genius, regardless of what is deceiving us, this all powerful being s ability to deceive undermines Descartes entire argument. This skepticism objects to Descartes final and strongest view that an evil genius is deceiving
