Class C Airspace
There was no need for airspace regulation in the US up until 1903 when the Wright brothers began the
modern age of air flight with a homemade aircraft. Then in 1905, the work of the Wright brothers
accumulated into the first practical aircraft that and subsequent improvements that allowed aviation
technology to develop into commercial aircraft as well as war capable planes which were used in
World War I.
Early aviation was quite dangerous as a result of no advanced navigational technologies or automated
flight systems. A great deal of human error was possible with these early aircraft. During these times,
pilots flew close enough to the ground so that they could tell where they were going by using
roadways and railways. This sort of primitive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A class C airspace must have met a basic physical infrastructure of a control tower and a radar
controlled approach system. The altitude limit for class C airspace is usually 4000 ft above the airport.
The overarching shelf like space has an upper and lower region, each with a radius of 10 miles and 20
miles, respectively. Although prior authorization/permission is not needed, aircraft that want to enter
class C airspace must establish radio communication with local air traffic control prior to entering the
airspace or be faced with trespassing. Aircraft pilots wishing to enter this area do not need special
certification but a speed limit of 230 mph must be obeyed below the altitude of 2500 feet and the
immediate area surrounding class C airspace. Pilots must be willing to follow commands from ATC
including requests not to enter the airspace or to vacate the airspace. Class C airspace designation is
only to be effective while the control tower and radar controlled approach system are active. Outside
of these hours, the airspace becomes Class D or E airspace depending on if the approach control is
closed or the tower is

Scarlette O Hara Charater Analysis
SCARLETT O HARAAnalysis Essay 02/13/12 SCARLETT O HARA Scarlett O Hara is a woman
who does what it takes to survive no matter what the case may be. In the book Gone with the Wind,
Scarlett O Hara plays a role of what most people might think is crazy. This upper class southern belle
living in the country side of Atlanta, Georgia just before the Civil War takes place. She embarks on an
adventure of turmoil, death, and deceitfulness. In this era of time during the Civil War Scarlett did not
care for it, in fact she pitied the fool to do such a act as war. Scarlett went from this simple, but yet
complicated teenager to an extremely deep and dark woman of desperate needs. Scarlett possesses a
remarkable talent for leadership, optimism, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scarlett repeats variation of this line several times over the course of the novel when hardships plague
her. She knows that she often acts immorally and that she faces absurdly difficult circumstances, and
to avoid feelings of guilt and helplessness she simply avoids reflecting on her life. Scarlett knows
eventually she should mull over her plight, but she always puts it off until another, different day,
which never truly comes. But this refusal to reflect is crucial to Scarlett s survival. Her attitude
contrasts directly with Ashley s obsession with the past and inability to let go of nostalgia and adapt to
new times. Scarlett s determination tomorrow is another day indicates her fundamental optimism
about the future. Because Scarlett represents the South, her optimism indicates Mitchell s general
optimism about the South s ability to survive the face of change. An America soon to be upended by
revolutions in attitudes toward race, gender and sexual morals (Keller, 2009). Scarlett manages to
overcome adversity through brute strength of will. She emerges as a feminist heroine because she
relies on herself alone and survives the Civil War and reconstruction unaided. She rebuilds Tara after
the Yankee invasion and works her way up in the new political order, taking care of helpless family
members and friends along the way. Scarlett gave birth to Melanie Hamilton s baby alone and while
invasion of the Yankees thru Atlanta was happening. Overcoming

Barrack Obama Won the Election
Tuesday November 4th, 2008. All across the country, eyes are fixated on television screens. Everyone
waits in anticipation. The race is almost called. Then, after hours of waiting, the 47th President of the
United States of America is announced and simultaneously history is made. A Black man, Barack
Obama, has just been elected. However in the time leading up to the election as well as the years that
would follow, Obama faces much animosity, criticism, and hatred. In the article, The Slow Motion
Lynching of President Barack Obama , Frank Schaeffer argues that Obama is being lynched, unfairly
attacked and made victim in large part to the country s racism. Although I agree that President Barack
Obama has been unjustly criticized and attacked, Schaeffer only names race as the fuel for such
criticism and fails to mention other contributing factors to the lynching of the President. Schaeffer
states, President Obama has been lied about, attacked, vilified, and disrespected since Day One ( Slow
Lynching ). This could not be truer. No other presidential candidate has been demanded by the public
to produce a birth certificate. Some schools even distributed opt out forms to students so that parents
could prohibit their children from watching the President s Back to School Speech , a speech that is
not political in nature but rather encourages children to work hard and pay attention in school. Obama
was unfairly criticized before he even took office, let alone actually pass and

The Masters Of Social Work Program
Going into the Masters of Social Work program, I thought I had an idea of what I was going to do and
how to do it. Now that I am almost finished with my Spring semester, I was completely wrong.
Reflecting back from when I first started this program, I have changed a lot in many aspects of myself.
My professional self is has changed the most. Working with various different clients, backgrounds,
situations, mental and physical health issues, socioeconomic status, sexual orientations, ages, and
races have gave me great experiences that will carry on in my social work skill set. Doing my
internship, and now current job, in child protective services and my current internship at Davis Child
Shelter, were some of the best experiences a person can ask for wanting to be a professional social
worker. During my time in the master s program, there was been a couple of experiences in particular
that has carried along with me. While in child protective services, witnessing New Port, an area in
Danville, WV that is very poverty stickered, and seeing how people lived in extreme poverty,
substance abuse, high crime rates, and overall general violence that would occur there. Infrastructure
was horrible, the trailer homes the people living in were old, run down, and dirty, and the roads, if that
is what one would call that, were broken, asphalt split in half, potholes large as cars, and many parts of
the area were dirty roads. If one did not know the area, they would have not even

The Opinion Of Henry Jenkins Essay
In the opinion of Henry Jenkins
Participatory culture shifts the focus of literacy from individual expression to community involvement
Jenkins et al (2009, pg6).
Using this explanation, this essay underlines the matters of how the entertainment industries has taken
full control through social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Furthermore, it also typifies
how such industries emphasis significantly into its logics and practices through its audience and fan
participation. Supported Research is justified by various theorists/examples. This includes Prensky,
Katz and Blumler, Dan Gilmore, David Gauntlet, Charles Leadbeater and Jenkins himself.
According to Jenkins Convergence Culture: Where Old and New Media Collide , It spectacles that the
entertainment industry has taken the advantage of harnessing New Media on traditional formats by
focussing on the logistics and practices. This evidently helps to increase the popularity and the
availability of audience participation through the use of updated technology. This is denoted through
old technological formats via applying new interactive media to heighten the participation for
numerous audiences. For instance, back in the day many industries i.e. entertainment had to depend on
broadcasting and radio for the viewers to receive their audio or visual content. To do these industries
had to send out signals globally through a large transmitter so that people can receive their content.
Transmitting these signals

Op 2.17
OP 2.17: Contribute to the support of children s creative development
1. Describe why creative development is important to children s learning
Children s creativity must be extended by the provision of support for their curiosity, exploration and
play. They must be provided with opportunities to explore and share their thoughts, ideas and feelings,
for example, through a variety of art, music, movement, dance, imaginative and role play activities,
mathematics, and design and technology.
What Creative Development means for children Creativity is about taking risks and making
connections and is strongly linked to play. Creativity emerges as children become absorbed in action
and explorations of their own ideas, expressing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework highlights the importance of creativity and
creative learning in the early years of education. One of the four principles that underpin the EYFS
framework relates to learning and development. It emphasises the importance of creativity and critical
thinking in all aspects of children s experience, and pronounces creative development as an area of
learning in its own right.
As an early years practitioner we aim to support the development of practice in promoting young
children s creativity and creative learning within the setting. Monitoring and evaluation help to ensure
that the setting s policies and procedures are working in practice and that opportunities for creativity
and creative learning provided have the desired effect. Evaluation is also a way of communicating
with providers of grants or funds about the work of the setting. Evaluation involves looking at the
work of the setting, how the work was done and what the results were. It provides the opportunity to
review the work of the setting, to make any necessary adjustments or improvements and to celebrate
success. As an early years practitioner, we may be involved in evaluating the setting s practice in
promoting young children s creativity and creative learning. To do this effectively we need to select
realistic methods for evaluating the setting s practice. W will need to discuss and agree these
evaluation methods with the relevant members of staff.

The Causes Of The Crusades
In case you didn t know the Crusades are a series of battles fought around 1096 to 1291. Now you
may be thinking why were the Crusades fought. Well, the Crusades were fought for control of the
Holy Land. They were a series of religious and political wars to gain control of Jerusalem, which was
important to Christians, Jews and Muslims. It was important to Jewish people as it was the site of the
of the original temple to God built by King Solomon.
(http://www.ducksters.com/history/middle_ages_crusades.php). Muslims believed it was where
Muhammad ascended to heaven and it was where Christ was crucified and rose again so was an
important place also for Christians.
In June 1098, Jerusalem fell. Why? Well there were lots of struggles in Antioch because of the
combined forces of the Byzantine and the Crusaders. They continued to walk to Jerusalem. The
Byzantines and the Crusaders were also joined by the Egyptian Fatimids. In 1099 the governor of the
Jerusalem had to bow down and leave his position as Governor. The Crusaders slaughtered many men
and women in the fall of Jerusalem.
The components of the fall of Jerusalem
When did Byzantine and The Crusaders start working together?
On Nov. 27, 1095, Pope Urban II said that the Crusaders needed to help the Byzantine. Why? Well to
take back Jerusalem of course! They officially started working together to free Jerusalem, August 15,
1096.

Business Partnership Case Study
As previously spoken about, it was made apparent that two issues have arisen regarding your business,
one being if a partnership may be formed with a volunteer and as to whether you are liable owing to
the conduct of one of your stall volunteers. Both situations in hand are relatively common, therefore
the law is well established on these matters. With respect to the first issue concerning a partnership
with Ms Jones, there are many routes one can take when setting up a business partnership. From what
is to be understood from our previous meeting, the partner in question is a volunteer who works on
your market stall, she has been there for a year and understands the workings and management of the
business. As the law stands currently, you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Seemingly, it may be advisable that both parties pay the same amount into the business, ensuring that
there are equal capital shares. A partnership agreement may occur either orally or in the formation of
written contract, which BTZ Garrett LLP solicitors would gladly draw up for you if a written contract
was needed. It may be suggested that this is the best route to take as all aspects of the business can be
clarified between both partners, ensuring a basis is covered. As a clarification, a partnership doesn t, in
the eyes of the law, only commence on a contractual or oral basis. An aspect used by Inland Revenue
to ascertain when a partnership commences is when a new bank account is opened. As stated before, a
general partnership divides all profits equally however, if needed it may be advisable at a later stage to
look into the accounts of your business to see whether profits have boosted since Ms Jones began her
volunteering. If profits have remained the same throughout the year to that of previous years, one
clause we could possibly look into would be, rather than having than equally divided partnership, a
70:30 percent ratio partnership, which may be the most beneficial to yourself in

A Trend Oriented Power System Security
A TREND ORIENTED POWER SYSTEM SECURITY ANALYSIS METHOD BASED ON LOAD
PROFILE Power system security is an important aspect in the present generation. Power system
security must also be economical. We can t predict the fault at every time, so based on trend analysis
method on load profile in this paper we are going to see the various methods which help for the
protection of the power system. So we should carefully monitor the security. By these methods
discussed in the paper we are to form security indices which helps us to calculate the faults in
advance. With these methods when problem occurs in real time we will have the security indices to
respond faster to find out the solution for the problem and also we can protect in advance.
Introduction: Power system analysis is important part of power systems. According to the
mathematical model we can divide security analysis into two types 1. Static analysis 2. Dynamic
analysis Dynamic security analysis is more focused on the behavior subsequent to a contingency,
power system oscillatory modes, frequency instability. In this paper we are going to study about static
analysis. Now moving on to the trend analysis theory it is developed from stock and commodity
markets. This analysis is majorly successful in medical and mechanical fields, now it is widely used in
electrical systems. Trend analysis theory has its own applications in electrical field such as signal
processing, load forecasting, fault

Al Capone was born on January 17, 1899 in Brooklyn, New York, he is the son of poor immigrants
Gabriel and Teresina Capone, there were eight children in his family, and Capon was the fourth one.
He didn t like how his parents were poor so in the sixth grade and he dropped out of school and decide

When Capone s father had a heart attack Torrio invited him to go to Chicago so he could help him stay
out of trouble so Capone went for the opportunity. When Torrio caught on to what Capone was doing

Origins Of The World War
Origins of the World War 1
General Theory of the War
The First World War occurred when Britain went to war with Germany in the year 1914. During that
time, the government led by the Prime Minister called Andrew Fisher pledged to completely support
Britain. Globally, the war affected Australia and other nations with a lot of enthusiasm. It lasted for 5
years from the year 1914 to 1919. It was a battle between the allies and the central powers. It is
believed to have involved a lot of soldiers and military warfare. It is one of the bloodiest warfare in
the history of the world as far as global warfare is concerned. Military troops were placed in trenches
which was a strategy that ensured that there was tight defense (Lecture notes: August ... Show more

Shifting in the balance of power in Europe can also be attributed to triggering the war. Every country
and nation wanted to prove that it was powerful and capable of defending itself. No nation wanted to
be dominated and bullied by another one which also resulted in security dilemma (Lecture notes:
August 4th, 3). Clashes due to the territory in the Balkans can also be blamed for the eruption of the
war. The alliances and treaties that were formed amongst the nations also resulted in others
participating in the war.
Nationalism
The growth and spread of nationalism throughout Europe also contributed to the start of the war; in
addition, unresolved disputes also played a major role (Lecture notes: August 18th, 5). Other
contributing factors included: the formation of alliances, threats from each other and the perceived
collapse of the balance of power throughout Europe. Convoluted and divided governance also acted as
another contributing factor to the breakout of the war. This is because some governments were
beginning to breakdown and divide which led to a weak system of governance. Imperial as well as
colonial rivalry due to wealth, power, and prestige were also involved in the occurrence of the world
war. Economic and military rivalry and clashes also led to the eruption of this war.
Industrialization of War The fact that Germany was rising quickly in terms of the economic, industrial
and military skills made the

No Exit is that the Setting of Hell by Jean-Paul Sartre
Hell, although we will most likely never actually know anything about it for sure, has always seemed
to be brought up in the media, talked about on television, and depicted in different ways and through
all of the different types of media there are around the world. For example, one version of Hell as
described in Jean Paul Sartre s play No Exit is that the setting of Hell is a mostly empty room in which
three people are selected to stay for eternity (Sartre). Whether they were selected by chance or at
random, nobody can tell for sure (Northern). The characters, Garcin, Inez, and Estelle try to figure out
why they were all placed together, but will never know even though they have an eternity together to
figure it out (Sartre). The thought that this setting could be a Hell in it s own can be hard to
comprehend. The fact of the matter is that the three people have no looking glass in which to see
themselves, no way to know how the other people in the room feel about them, and no way to get
away from each other, for they are locked in this room for eternity (Sartre). The fact that one of the
women, Estelle, is a sort of conceited woman who wants to see how she looks all the time makes her
feel the need to ask the other woman, Inez, how she looks (Sartre). When she does this, it shows the
way that it is human nature that we are constantly worried and wondering how they look through
another person s eyes (Northern). The idea of the Northern Existential Group that Hell is other

The Last Of The Mohicans Analysis
The book, The Last of the Mohicans, is a very deep book. There are many genres one could label it as,
but in some opinions, including my own, the most fitting one is adventure. There are a few reasons for
this, one being that the majority of the book is adventure. And there is only a little bit of the other
genres while adventure is the most fitting one. If one were to look up adventure genre, the would find
that most of the book identifies under that category. So if one asked what genre this book was many
would say adventure.
The last of the Mohicans unequivocally has a lot of adventure in it. In one of the first chapters, the
readers are introduced to an Indian who was posing as a guide for white men. When the crew ran into
Hawk eye and the Mohicans, Hawk eye quickly informed them that their guide was going to lead
them straight into an ambush. They tried to kill the guide, but he managed to get away. Hawk eye
knew that immediately after the Indian returned to his tribe the tribe would start hunting down the new
crew. They had to flew the area and find a hiding spot. All of this was in the earlier chapters of the
book and the adventure grows as time goes on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This story has a lot of action, the charters are constantly trying to get away from the Indians or the
French. The crew is almost always in danger or risk, this makes a lot of excitement for the reader. It is
a fast paced novel, it can go from one minuet fighting to the next hiding again, this makes it hard to
anticipate what is going to happen next. There is no doubt that this novel is of the adventure genre.
If one were to ask what genre this book would be, one would think that many people would say
adventure. This is because most of the book is adventure. The reader had barely opened the book
before Hawk eye and the Mohicans tried to capture Magua. And there is a lot of adventure while there
is only a little bit of the other genres. If one was to look up the Adventure genre they would find that
this book definitely classifies under that genre, but not as much the other ones. This book should
undoubtedly be labeled under the adventure

Into The Wild, When I Woke Up On Tuesday Morning, It Was...
Humans have achieved evolutionary progress in history through the desire to live a better life and the
ability to adapt to even the harshest conditions. To be sheltered from the harsh weather conditions,
early humans learned to live in caves. To fight off wild animals as well as to cook food, humans
developed their own way of making fire after accidental encounters of the process through wildfires
caused by lightning. However, progress did not come lightly and through the search for further
progress, humans are inevitably reunited with unintended negative consequences for which Edward
Tenner called revenge effects . In Jon Krakauer s Selections from Into the Wild, Christopher

Through these unconventional adaptations, Julia was able to bury her depressing childhood inside the
deepest part of her mind and focus her attention on her education and career. Through her constant
adaptations, she achieved eventual progress and success. Julia was able to graduate summa cum laude
from Stanford, receiving a full scholarship at a graduate school in New York and become an award
winning producer of documentary films (Stout 385). The same trend of human achieving progress
through adaptation can be observed at a societal scale. The first great modern stimulus from disaster
may have been the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588....this greatest setback in the history of Spain
was what led its king Philip III to offer a perpetual pension of 6,000 ducats to the discoverer of the
longitude (Tenner 435). Because of the harsh conditions and challenges sea navigation posed due to
the inability to determine longitude, humans are forced to overcome this challenge by increasingly
focusing their attention toward the search for longitude. Even though it would take more than a decade
until people receive nearly satisfactory results, the adaptation still led to some fruitful results, such as
the advances in mathematics, astronomy, mechanics, and magnetism. Given these points, Krakauer,
Stout and Tenner demonstrated human s innate ability to adapt to overcome the

How Does External Factors Affect A Business Model
External Factors External factors of demand influence the design of successful business models.
Market forces such as customer needs and customer demand are the foundation of successful business
models (Osterwalder Pigneur, 2010). If a business does not address the needs and demands of a
customer there is a limited need for the business to exist. Additionally, businesses must identify the
price customers are willing to pay for a product and which customer segments represent the greatest
growth potential (Osterwalder Pigneur, 2010). Key trends, such as technological innovation, have
played an increasingly important role in successful business models. The rise of information systems
and new advances in technology have been an important external factor, which business models must
address (Hedman Kalling, 2003). Business model that are unable to adapt to changes in technology
must be changed through innovation or the underlying business will not be successful. Successful
business models must address and adapt to a variety of external factors. Customer preferences, new
technologies, regulatory trends, and competitors are all external factors which must be addressed by
successful business models (Osterwalder Pigneur, 2010). External factors of demand play a significant
role in successful business models. For example, with Business models are designed to fit certain
business environments and markets (Osterwalder Pigneur, 2010).
Business Model Design and Innovation Business model innovations have changed entire industries.
Business model innovation occurs when original business model designs are challenged and
unsatisfied, new, or hidden customer needs are met through an entirely new value proposition
(Osterwalder Pigneur, 2010). Firms must have strategic agility if they wish to be able to transform
their business models and pursue innovation (Chesbrough, 2010). When Apple introduced the iPod
and the iTunes store in 2003, it revolutionized portable entertainment, created a new market, and
redefined Apple as a company (Johnson, Christensen, Kagermann, 2008). Apple s iPod was not the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Freelancers
So you have started a company well, is everything running smoothly? Most likely, it isn t yet, since
there are many aspects in running a business that are far from easy to handle: Tight schedules, packed
sessions, peak sales hours, pressures regarding time sensitive deliveries and mass bulk orders, and so
many more such innumerable situations.
However, there is a solution that could help you cope with such intensive operational workloads:
Simply put, hire freelancers and consultants to handle these operational tasks.
At the most basic level, hiring freelancers will allow you to manage your more time sensitive and
more instense business tasks, especially during peak business hours, by adding to the manpower that
you need without making it a permanent change in your team numbers (which you will have little to
no use for during the slower seasons of your business). At best, you gain freelance employees who can
add great value to your business and might even take a more permanent role in your business.

Essay on Stand Here Ironing by Tilie Olsen
Wake up, go to school, come home, eat, do homework, sleep. Wake up, go to school, come home, eat,
do homework, sleep. Wake up, go to school, come home, eat, do homework, sleep. This is the life of a
teenager. They do the same things over and over again barley having enough time to interact with their
family and friends. This schedule alters slightly as one gets older, but for the most part everything
stays the same. Each day a repeat of the day before. In the short story I Stand Here Ironing by Tillie
Olsen, the narrator begins with a the simple task of ironing and all throughout the story she continues
to iron. For the narrator every day is the same. A day filled with chores and work and more chores and

She spent all her time doing household chores and creating a barrier between herself and her daughter.
Through introspection she realizes that she needs to spend more time with her daughter hugging and
showing her love, but she is too late. The point of view in every work of literature can be different. An
author uses the point of view to stress one aspect of a story or a novel to make it more meaningful.
The point of view in this short story is crucial in understanding the phycological standpoint of the
main character. The author s decision to make this story in first person allows for the reader to really
get inside the character s head. If the story was not written in first person then it would be much harder
for the reader to understand the true feelings of the character. For instance, the regret the narrator felt
for the way she raised Emily would not be as evident and sincere if the author just wrote, The mother
really felt bad for the way she raised Emily. Another significant purpose of writing this story in first
person is because it allows the narrator to express her own thoughts and feelings. In order to fully
grasp the narrator s mindset it is necessary to hear the story from her point of view. One very
important aspect of a psychological story is introspection. The character looks into their actions and
thoughts and grows through their thoughts. It would be very difficult to see and understand the
introspection of

Is the conflict in Syria a civil war, an insurgency or a proxy conflict?
The Syrian Uprising is an ongoing armed conflict in Syria between forces loyal to the Ba ath
government and those seeking to oust its regime. The conflict has many complex entities with factions
present that are seeking their own foothold in the country s struggle over power. However, this was
not always the case and an examination will take place into weather the conflict can be defined as
either a civil war, an insurgency or a proxy conflict. The definition of the type of conflict is relevant as
it is critical to whether or not intervention is necessary and how states may go about it, for instance,
the laws of war are different from the laws of armed protests. ... Show more content on

In April 2011, the Syrian Army was deployed to quell the uprising and soldiers murdered
demonstrators throughout Syria. The protests began to evolve into armed rebellions and members of
the Armed Forces defected and created the Free Syrian Army (FSA). Since the formation of the FSA,
the rebel group expanded throughout Syria. Factional groups also joined the conflict with the Army of
Islam and less known Al Qaeda groups operating against both the Syrian Armed Forces and the FSA.
Recent statistics show that in July 2013, the Syrian government controlled approximately 30% 40% of
the country s territory and 60% of the Syrian population. The death toll reached 120,000 by September

were carried out by the Syrian government. Estimates show that more than four million Syrians have

Victory Motorcycles
Victory Motorcycle
Victory Motorcycles is a motorcycle manufacturer based in Spirit Lake, Iowa, United States, which
began production of its vehicles in 1998. Its parent company, Polaris Industries, created the firm
following the modern success of Harley Davidson. Victory s motorcycles are designed to compete
directly with Harley Davidson and similar American style motorcycle brands, with V twin engines and
touring, sport touring, and cruiser configurations. The first Victory, the V92C, was announced in 1997
and began selling in 1998. Victory has been modestly profitable since 2002.

Let me sell against price, let me sell against features and benefits, let me sell against more advertising,
and I can find ways to do that. Help me to sell against the lifestyle, with loyalty that is as passionate as
I ve ever seen on any product (Harley Davidson). To sell against an image is very, very difficult, and
that was my biggest concern. To sell against an image, and what some would call a life style, is where
Polaris would have their greatest challenge. They could not just equal Harley Davidson in
competition, because they weren t competing against just a motorcycle. Polaris was competing against
Harley s American motorcycle image. To compete with an established reputation, Polaris would have
to be better than Harley. They would have to outperform, out handle, and be the best in class. This
challenge would be a tall order, and would require Polaris to execute this plan in cost savings mode.
Polaris did have advantages in having several different product lines, good quality control and loyal
customers. And as Polaris management team knew, customers aren t loyal to your product if you have
poor quality control. This would mean that Parks team would have to determine the best way to
reduce costs without cutting corners in quality. Polaris would have to be careful about what it
outsourced, and what it vertically integrated into their operation in the interest of

people do not realize was that the Norse people were interested in magic. There were many popular

In Scandinavia women were thought to be evil if they had a higher power role in society over men.
This is displayed in Scandinavian literature about the story of Queen Gunnhilder, in her stories she
was described as being malevolent and her nickname was Destructive Prima Donna by one scholar. A
real life example would be an incident that occurred in 1466. A woman named Ælseby, called another
man s wife a wretch which in Norse means (sklak), and the son of a whore. Ælseby was once again
causing trouble a few years after this previous incident; after another woman had said to Ælseby that
she was a tramp who wished her husband dead , Ælseby went to the woman s house and started
beating her up. Many would stereotype Ælseby has a quarrelsome woman who is commonly
associated with being a witch. Mitchell takes Ælseby behavior a step further by referencing other
scholars who said that back during this time period women like Ælseby who was regarded as
contentious, outspoken, troublesome... were considered to be evil women. As previously mentioned,
many historians who write about witch hunting often come across various works about witchcraft
beliefs from witch hunters who believed that women had sexual relations with the devil or other
demons and spirits. In the article titled Sexual Encounters with Spirits and Demons in Early Modern

Ever since I can remember, school has been the main importance in my life. My father always told me

started off school at Greenfield Elementary and I loved it there. I did everything I could to help
younger students with their experience there and also everything I could to make my experience

People always ask me how I like going to school at Fairfield. I always reply saying something along

1. Corporate Governance is a set of rules enforced in a company to have control and be led in a certain
direction. Corporate Governance balances interests of stakeholders, and the corporation s objectives.
Corporate Governance aims to manage action plans and internal controls to measure a company s
performance and corporate disclosure. Corporate Governance is important to every American citizen
for various reasons. Bad governance of a company makes the company unreliable, such as
participation in illegal activities. Corporate Governance is mainly to build trust of American people to

Diversity of a corporate board is important in terms of varying skill sets and experience of board
members. The diversity brought by different board members allows a contrast in perspectives and
opinions on how the benefit the corporation. A corporate board should have a separate director (with
explicit rules and regulations) that is capable of properly managing. The director must also be capable
to decide whether it is the corporation s best interest to have CEO participation with a corporate board.
Also, the board of directors make decisions for shareholders as a fiduciary, while seeking commercial
stability of the company. The board of directors is in charge of hiring and firing executives. A poor
structured board makes it almost impossible to fire ineffective officials, (Staff, page 1). To clearly see
the accounting of a corporation, no corporation should stray away from clearly explaining the
corporation s accounting outcomes. The calculating of corporate incomes should always be shown in
stock or options based on compensation. There must be a productive commitment to engage with
shareholders between company and its shareholders in order to have the best governing,

investors have made it their primary goal to get the most profit on quarterly earnings in contrary to

Summarizing Podursky et. al. (2007), it was concluded from the data ranging from 1999 2000 that
private and charter schools had a significantly higher use of performance pay bonuses. It is clarified
that because these studies were short lived the overall determinations of effectiveness lie within
motivation and not in sorting of teachers effectiveness. Podursky et. al. (2007) discussed the
comparison of teacher performance on evaluations conducted by the principal to student achievement.
It was concluded, Research literature to date and particularly the recent work by Jacobs and Lefgren
show that subjective evaluations of teacher performance are valid measures of teacher effectiveness as
measured by student achievement gains. (p. 562). Principal evaluations reflecting low stakes were
used to acquire these results. The question still remains if these types of evaluations will continue to
be of value in a merit based system. Also would a principal who would normally give a teacher a
lower performance score, under regular circumstances non high stakes evaluations, do the same if it

Character Analysis Of Jim Carrey
Jim Carrey is a comedian and actor that has been in the business since about the age of fifteen.
Although he suffers from bipolar disorder he still manages to be very successful in his career. I have
choose to analyze Jim Carrey in the movie where he plays a character that has psychological problems
and the obsession of a number. The movie 23. Through the paper I will refer to him as Walter sparrow
as this is the charter that he is playing in the movie. However in this movie Walter is two characters.
He as well goes by Fingerling. I use both characters and explain how they both can relate to Freud s
ideas. I will do one character at a time. I will be using multiply of frueds theories to express some of
the behaviors and characteristics to his personality. Freud believes that we a driven by our instincts,
aggression and sexual desires
In the beginning of the movie Walter is an ordinary man that seems to live a really ordinary good life.
When it first starts off Walter is using his preconscious mind and explaining how he became a dog
catcher. According to Freud the preconscious is what we can easily access at any given time. He goes
in to detail off what lead him to his job. Later on he is confronted with a dog on the loose who gets
away and who happen to bite him. This bothers him for days and it is constantly on his mind. He is
now using his conscious mind which is allowing him to think about the dog. After a long day at work

Quality and safety are directly tied to the purpose of the goal. Many of the tools and application of
principals that have been assimilated in the alarm management project have been part of the
curriculum at WU MSN program course work. Strategies utilizing lean principals, critical thinking,
data analysis, PDCA cycles are a few of the means used to advance this project. Fundamental to the
role as a patient safety leader is the use of advanced safety, quality, and nursing theory that backs
nursing practice regarding prevention of patient harm. Patient safety findings were brought to the
attention of the clinical alarm teams and the applications of the quality and safety principles were part
of the litmus test for any actions steps.
Essential IV
Consequently, building onto the quality and safety principles, is the use of EBP, strongly present in the
platform for every WU nursing course. The WU program focuses on use of evidence in the literature
and the assessment of the evidence. These principles are demonstrated throughout the project with
prominent use of AACN (2013) evidence based practical guidance kit. Consumption of science based
information to impart practices for alarm management was apparent in teams participation in the
literature reviews and the webinars attended. Discussions and making project decisions were based on
the strength of evidence and was a direct result of the course work from the MSN and DNP prepared
participants.

The American Revolution
The American Revolution was the struggle by which thirteen colonies won independence from Great
Britain, to become what we now know as The United States of America. The American Revolution
came about primarily because the colonists had matured. Their interests and goals were so different
and distant from those of the mother country. Local politics, practices, social customs, religious
beliefs, and economic interests had gone so far from the English ways. The American Revolution had
a tremendous impact not only in The United States, but also in Europe and the rest of the world.
The Navigation Acts channeled the flow of colonial raw materials into England and kept foreign
goods and vessels out of colonial ports. The Navigation Acts incorporated multiple laws that were
created over a period of time. The Acts were passed with the theory of mercantilism, which restricted
free trade. They were intended to keep foreign goods and vessels out of colonial ports. The Navigation
Act of 1651 banned imported goods from other countries, unless the ship or cargo had an all British
crew. The second Act was extended to exports in addition to imports. Four more Acts were passed
between the years of 1662 and 1773, which proposed even more restrictions on trade. The Molasses
Act in 1773 forced the colonists to purchase the more expensive sugar from the Britain because they
had raised the tax on all sugar and molasses products coming from anywhere else. Smuggling was also
a huge result of these

International Policy Essay
III. Assessment
As such we have three possible policy options, ranging from nearly total neutrality, to partial insertion
into the conflict, and full out insertion into the conflict
Policy Option I:
Our first policy option is to continue the path we re now of lending only tentative support in the form
of our public position stating that Russia entering Crimea was a break of international law. And with
this not acting upon any real plan of moving forward.
Short Term:
In the short term, this policy may keep the peace for a short while. But by not enforcing international
law, we risk the United Nations facing many more violations, as not enforcing this break, tells the rest
of the world that the United Nations is a watchdog with now real ... Show more content on

Short Term:
The short term affects include the large scale operation costs to provide these weapons and training to
the Ukraine. With this we also risk backlash from Russia, from getting involved even covertly in this
conflict. The desire, would be to accomplish this without Russia knowing, which is rather unlikely,
and therefore, we would be risking whether they might retaliate against the United States. For this
plan to work, we need to assure the Ukraine of the strength of our alliance, and must be willing to
enter further into the conflict to support Ukraine in the backlash from Russia. As to not do so could
very well result in a Bay of Pigs situation.
Long Term:
As for the long term affects, our greatest fear would lay on what we risk by putting weapons in the
hands of the Ukrainian s. We ve seen several former Soviet states, with weapons supplied by Russia,
from using these weapons further and in conflicts we disapprove of. To keep this from happening a
close eye on the Ukraine would be required, once more draining resources further. In terms of long
term peace, this option is the most fitting, with this retaining our alliances and possibly getting our
desires in the end. Economically it is a larger blow than the first policy decision, but cheaper than full
military intervention. We also have a greater chance of having plausible deniability if we support a
counter insurgency plan over a full military action. This however

Comparing Milgram s Experiment On Obedience To Authority

to just following orders from an authority figure. Slater et al attempted to replicate Milgram s (1963)
study of obedience using a virtual environment. In this essay, I will discuss the similarities and
differences between these studies, using evidence to support my points.

shocks. Even though Milgram s participants were all real people and Slater used an avatar, both
studies showed similar results when participants were able to interact and hear the learner s responses.
For example, in Milgram s study, participants showed signs of nervousness, tension and were
generally uncomfortable. When participants were hesitant to stop the task, the experimenter responded
saying it is absolutely essential that you continue . Similar to Slater s study, participants showed signs
of stress, frustration and a racing heartbeat. They would also turn to the experimenter for guidance on
what they should do. Both studies resulted in the majority of participants going all the way on the

The Invisible Man Analysis
The story The Invisible Man is written by Ralph Ellison. The author takes his personal experiences as
an ignored man and creates this character that shows the characteristics of a man whom few people
would stop to acknowledge. This story can be seen as a symbol of an educated black man whose life
has been controlled and oppressed by a white society. Throughout the story one will notice that the
man is nameless. The is because the narrator in The Invisible Man is invisible not only to others but
himself as well because of racism and trying to live up to expectations of others. There are certain
tools that are given to him by outsiders and things he will use that will ultimately develop him into
student and man. The author has written about events that made the invisible man who he was. It is
important to notice that the invisible man has been searching for his identity the whole time and will
later discover that his identity is in those things he has always had.
This story also uses appeal of pathetic to grab the reader s attention. Throughout the story the author,
Ralph Ellison, struggles to attempt to uncover the invisible man s identity that is buried beneath
oppression. It is important to understand that the invisible man is an African American male who sates
that he is only looked down on because of his skin color (Ellison). Ralph Ellison goes in detail by
showing us how lies can be seen as an obstacle to anyone s journey of finding himself and his true
identity. These obstacles are expressed in Ralph Ellison s usage of symbols and imagery portrays those
obstacles. The man is faced with these obstacles of deception in his ability to make his own life, but
instead is confined to live the life in white men s society. The purpose calls for action to the public to
open their eyes to realize that racism is a problem that will not go away; it is something that must be
forced to an end whereby men are willing to be themselves in the process.
In the story, the narrator has set out to search for his true identity, but this idea of why he is blind to
the world leads him to become blind in the process. I believe that it is important to focus on the
significance of the man s living situation. The invisible man lives

Similarities Between Good Night And Good Luck And The...
Have you ever been blamed for something that you never took part in, or something you didn t do?
How awful did it make you feel? Pretty terrible, I know. This is what was happening everyday in 1950
s when the second red scare occurred. The movie Good Night, and Good Luck and The Crucible by
Arthur Miller display the many false accusations that were brought upon the plethora of people in the
society that were said to be people they weren t. This made the public aware of what was really going
on at the time, and to show that history was repeating itself. There are two people who were falsely
accused that were definitely surprising when reading and watching the two forms of entertainment
were Edward Murrow and John Proctor. These two characters are very similar in the sense that they
both were wrongfully alleged to be people that they weren t. Mary Warren, a weak follower in the
novel, says to Proctor in front of the judges Don t touch me don t touch me! You re the Devil s man!
(Miller 1212) Because of this, Proctor gets arrested and is hung in Act IV. However, what Mary
Warren said was not true. John wasn t the most perfect person in Salem, but he was not a witch, nor
working with the devil! John proctor tried to help those who were falsely accused as well. He did
everything in his power to keep his wife from being convicted, not to mention many others like Goody
Osbourne, Goody Nurse, and Sarah Good, those of which were not guilty under any circumstances.

was not carried out during the period when snow and ice was on our roads.
Although I live on a main bus route which would take my children to school this road was never
gritted therefore my children were unable to attend their secondary school as the busses ... Show more

Children who travelled by bus couldn t get here as busses had been cancelled, children who walked to
school didn t arrive as their paths were slippery and a danger to their safety.
Therefore a decision had to be made and it was after due consideration of all safety aspects that The
school was closed until the weather was a little better.
Should the weather be bad next year the same situation will apply. The school will be closed and all
parents and cares will be notified the day before or as early as possible.
TASK 3
You are a student at the school that was closed during the bad weather. Write a contribution to the
forum discussion giving your opinion on the closure and why.
I attend the secondary school which was closed over the period of heavy snow falls last month.
Personally I feel as soon as it snows everyone says oh my god can t go to school it s snowing or oh my
god can t go to work the roads are too bad in other words its and excuse to have a day or two off and
have fun tobogganing, building snowmen or just having fun in the snow as it doesn t snow very often
so you just have to make the most of it.
Everyone love to have the time to do these fun things no matter what age you

Benjamin s Farewell To The Modern World
At this late hour, the man of the crowd finds himself in one of the new department stores where
customers are still milling about. It is here that Benjamin claims the flâneur makes his last
promenade...he roamed through the labyrinth of commodities as he had once roamed through the
labyrinth of the city. Contrary to Baudelaire s view, Benjamin believes that the flâneur met his demise
with the triumph of consumer capitalism, introduced by the urban changes instituted by Baron
Haussmann. As intellect and reason ceased to soften the desires encouraged by the modern city, the
individual surrenders to the ever more extravagant, ever more conspicuous, displays of merchandise.
The flâneur could no longer find the inspiration and meaning for his ... Show more content on

Benjamin makes it very clear that flânerie could hardly have assumed the importance it did without
the arcades, which allowed the flâneur to continue his activities despite inclement weather. He cites an
1852 illustrated guide to Paris which refers to the arcades as glass roofed, marble paneled corridors
extending through whole blocks of buildings...Lining both sides of these corridors, which get their
light from above, are the most elegant shops, so that the passage is a city, a world in miniature. It is in
this world that Benjamin claims the flâneur is most at home. Arcades were enjoying undiminished
popularity in Baudelaire s Paris, and the flâneur favored them because there he would not be exposed
to the sight of carriages which scorned to recognize pedestrians as rivals. It was even briefly
fashionable at this time to take turtles for a walk in the arcades; the flâneurs liked to have the turtles
set the pace for them. For Benjamin, the arcade is the perfect manifestation of way the street presents
itself to the flâneur, a protected miniature streetscape, and the department store is simply its

Developing the Lexical Acquistion of a Language
Acquisition of language is often a very difficult task that requires time and commitment. To learn
language one needs to focus and various aspects of language that include reading, writing, listening,
speaking, and pronunciation. Perhaps one of the most difficult and time consuming tasks that exist in
language learning is lexical acquisition. To accurately express oneself, a large lexical inventory is
required. Vocabulary learning is accomplished by many different methods; memorization and multiple
exposures are required and, in addition, one needs to learn a word s collocations and syntactic
constraints. There has been much research done that focuses on methods of teaching vocabulary and
extensive reading is one such method.
Extensive reading is a method of reading instruction where students are encouraged to read large
quantity of texts in order to promote understanding. There is also an underlying goal that involves
getting students to enjoy reading. There several aspects to extensive reading and principles have even
been given by certain researchers. In their article, Day Bamford (2002) introduced 10 principles that
are related to extensive reading. These principles include: the reading material must be
comprehensible, there must be a variety of material with many topics, the students have choice in their
reading material, the students read as much as possible, the purpose of reading should be for pleasure
and general understanding, the reading should be its

The American Dream By John Winthrop
What is the American Dream ? The American Dream has always been characterized by a thriving job
market, opportunities for advancement, stability, etc. It is the pursuit of individual achievement
without consideration for moral or legal restrictions (Angulski, 2013). This idea dates back as far as
1630 to the puritan colonists. It was first established within a sermon given by John Winthrop while
sailing to Massachusetts. This sermon set into motion the ideals that we have adapted today
enveloping the American Dream . From then on Americans put their faith in the theory that if you
work hard and do the right thing you will manifest your goals and eventually attain success and
comfortability. The dream of the time was to live in a land where there existed a right to religious
freedom and opportunity. This ideal has stuck to this day, however the validity may is no longer intact.
The American Dream is a mere afterthought within today s society, overtaken by massive debt and
loss of opportunity. The American Dream is the greatest asset we as a country possess, the fact that
people from across the world still want to come to America to fulfill their dreams, to join a society that
they see as dynamic, exciting, and full of potential, is a testament to the great potential of America to
improve lives and offer opportunity for all (Ross, 2016). America is a substantially different world
now than it was at the time of the initial American Dream . The optimism of the

My Sister Is A Two Time Breast Cancer Survivor Essay
My sister Kate was laying on a stretcher in the hallway of her local hospital with a badly broken ankle.
Her ankle was shattered, splintered, destroyed. And this was good news!
Kate s ankle was broken because she had slipped on snow covered ice during a blinding New England
snow storm, referred to by New Englanders as a Nor easter, while walking from her office to her car.
She was laying on a stretcher in the hospital hallway because many others in her town had met with
misfortune during this storm and were also in the hospital awaiting care and there was no room for
Kate except for where she lay. This was good news because Kate was in the hospital for something
other than the breast cancer she had been battling over the past several years. Good things can come in
odd packages sometimes.
My sister is a two time breast cancer survivor. The first time was an early diagnosis and routine
treatment that was successful. The second time was an aggressive, dark, menacing monster that was
dangerous and spreading. After chemotherapy, radiation and a complete mastectomy she had a long
road back to her normal self; or what would become her new normal. Kate is now healthy, active and
thriving but she has to keep an eye out for any sign that the monster is returning.
Kate s cancer journey was terrifying enough on its own but it lead me to my own terrifying journey.
Kate s breast cancer was not the only occurrence in my family. My maternal grandmother had
succumbed to breast

Case Study Of Levi s Levi
Research Problem
After seeing glory for all these years, why could Levi s not sustain its popularity? The entry of
competitors in its market segment turned a classic to a lost case. How could a brand so appealing and
well defined lose its luster? The sloppy approach of the brand to combat its competitors shows how
tired the brand had been. For instance, the advertising done by Levi s for its Silver tab range was one
of the most hated advertisement. It was considered to be insulting and critics claimed that it lacked
branding . Similarly, the advertisement to promote Levi s low rise jeans which was released in 2002
had also received a negative response from the audience. The company failed to make it into the top

6) Do you feel that the brand has lately lost its value?
Three focus group discussions were conducted consisting of 7 students of the Institute of Management
Technology, Ghaziabad in each group. The participants were both male and female with the age range
of 23 to 28 years. Each of the discussion went on for around 30 to 45 minutes.
These discussions helped us narrow our list of attributes to the more important ones from the above
list. The selected attributes are price, fit, design, fabric, color and brand. Also we were able to map the
perception of the brand Levi s to the customers. Some results were derived on the basis of this focus
group discussion. Consumer doesn t mind moving towards other cheaper brands in clothing. There is
lack of differentiating factor in the branded jeans of Levi s as compared to other lower brands. The
Levi s brand for jeans does not belong to the premium club of jeans brand anymore. The value of the
brand is gradually declining in the mind of the customers. This result of the focus group discussion is
the basis for preparing our survey questionnaire for market

The Siege Of Yorktown During The American War
The Siege of Yorktown
The Siege of Yorktown, otherwise known as the Battle of Yorktown or the German Battle, was the
final and deciding battle in the American War for Independence. This blockade of American and
French troops took place in Yorktown, Virginia, hence the name entitled to this bombardment. Led by
George Washington, a Virginian Commander in Chief, the Continental Army traveled south out of
Williamsburg to surround Yorktown. Aided by French General de Rochambeau, this organized
military force clashed against British General Lord Charles Cornwallis and his troops of 9, 000 men.
On September 18, 1781, the last major battle in North American of the American Revolution began.
On this day, General Cornwallis chose Yorktown, the mouth of Chesapeake Bay, as his base due to its
deep harbor, which allowed reinforcements to arrive by ship. Fortunately for the Patriots, Admiral
Comte de Grasse and his French fleet departed Saint Domingo, a French colony or modern day Haiti,
to the south of Chesapeake Bay. There, he defeated Admiral Thomas Graves, who was supposed to
deliver the reinforcements to Cornwallis, at the Battle of Virginia Capes. As a result, George
Washington realized that it was time to act and ordered Marquis de Lafayette, a French aristocrat and a
military officer, with his troops of 5, 000 to encircle Cornwallis in Yorktown, while the French naval
forces blocked his escapes by sea. With another plan in mind, the Americans and French dug a trench

Effects Of Video Games Essay
Video games and their effect on teenagers and young adults. This a big issue with many people
concerned with other people s health and their own. Especially for the past few years where video
games have become so popular among teens and young adults. Research has been done several times
over and over. So this why people are wondering is good or bad to play video games. Is playing video
games good or bad ? Research has shown that it helps to improve the cognitive function. According to
research, it changes the brain structure exactly the same way while playing the piano. It also helps the
same way as reading. The combination of concentration and the surge of neurotransmitters strengthens
the neural circuits that build the brain. Research has also proved that it helps hand and eye
coordination. It has shown teens can learn spatial, visual, and iconic skills from the video games.
Some games require a great deal of visual spatial ability and hand eye coordination to be
successful.the player has to coordinate the brain s reaction and interpretation with his hands and
fingertip movements. It also has to calculate the timing exactly. Video games also improve quick
thinking and accuracy. It trains that brain to make fast decisions without losing accuracy. Video games
can also train surgeons and soldiers. It improves child s decisions making skills. Teens playing video
games made decisions 25% faster without affecting accuracy. Video games have negative effects on

  • 2. Class C Airspace There was no need for airspace regulation in the US up until 1903 when the Wright brothers began the modern age of air flight with a homemade aircraft. Then in 1905, the work of the Wright brothers accumulated into the first practical aircraft that and subsequent improvements that allowed aviation technology to develop into commercial aircraft as well as war capable planes which were used in World War I. Early aviation was quite dangerous as a result of no advanced navigational technologies or automated flight systems. A great deal of human error was possible with these early aircraft. During these times, pilots flew close enough to the ground so that they could tell where they were going by using roadways and railways. This sort of primitive ... The altitude limit for class C airspace is usually 4000 ft above the airport. Although prior authorization/permission is not needed, aircraft that want to enter class C airspace must establish radio communication with local air traffic control prior to entering the airspace or be faced with trespassing. Aircraft pilots wishing to enter this area do not need special certification but a speed limit of 230 mph must be obeyed below the altitude of 2500 feet and the immediate area surrounding class C airspace. Pilots must be willing to follow commands from ATC including requests not to enter the airspace or to vacate the airspace. In the book Gone with the Wind, Scarlett O Hara plays a role of what most people might think is crazy. This upper class southern belle living in the country side of Atlanta, Georgia just before the Civil War takes place. She embarks on an adventure of turmoil, death, and deceitfulness. In this era of time during the Civil War Scarlett did not care for it, in fact she pitied the fool to do such a act as war. Scarlett went from this simple, but yet complicated teenager to an extremely deep and dark woman of desperate needs. Scarlett possesses a remarkable talent for leadership, optimism, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Scarlett repeats variation of this line several times over the course of the novel when hardships plague her. She knows that she often acts immorally and that she faces absurdly difficult circumstances, and to avoid feelings of guilt and helplessness she simply avoids reflecting on her life. Scarlett knows eventually she should mull over her plight, but she always puts it off until another, different day, which never truly comes. But this refusal to reflect is crucial to Scarlett s survival. Her attitude contrasts directly with Ashley s obsession with the past and inability to let go of nostalgia and adapt to new times. Scarlett s determination tomorrow is another day indicates her fundamental optimism about the future. Because Scarlett represents the South, her optimism indicates Mitchell s general optimism about the South s ability to survive the face of change. An America soon to be upended by revolutions in attitudes toward race, gender and sexual morals (Keller, 2009). Scarlett manages to overcome adversity through brute strength of will. She emerges as a feminist heroine because she relies on herself alone and survives the Civil War and reconstruction unaided. She rebuilds Tara after the Yankee invasion and works her way up in the new political order, taking care of helpless family members and friends along the way. Scarlett gave birth to Melanie Hamilton s baby alone and while invasion of the Yankees thru Atlanta was happening. Overcoming ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then, after hours of waiting, the 47th President of the United States of America is announced and simultaneously history is made. A Black man, Barack Obama, has just been elected. However in the time leading up to the election as well as the years that would follow, Obama faces much animosity, criticism, and hatred. In the article, The Slow Motion Lynching of President Barack Obama , Frank Schaeffer argues that Obama is being lynched, unfairly attacked and made victim in large part to the country s racism. Although I agree that President Barack Obama has been unjustly criticized and attacked, Schaeffer only names race as the fuel for such criticism and fails to mention other contributing factors to the lynching of the President. Schaeffer states, President Obama has been lied about, attacked, vilified, and disrespected since Day One ( Slow Lynching ). This could not be truer. No other presidential candidate has been demanded by the public to produce a birth certificate. Some schools even distributed opt out forms to students so that parents could prohibit their children from watching the President s Back to School Speech , a speech that is not political in nature but rather encourages children to work hard and pay attention in school. The characters, Garcin, Inez, and Estelle try to figure out why they were all placed together, but will never know even though they have an eternity together to figure it out (Sartre). The fact of the matter is that the three people have no looking glass in which to see themselves, no way to know how the other people in the room feel about them, and no way to get away from each other, for they are locked in this room for eternity (Sartre). The fact that one of the women, Estelle, is a sort of conceited woman who wants to see how she looks all the time makes her feel the need to ask the other woman, Inez, how she looks (Sartre). The director must also be capable to decide whether it is the corporation s best interest to have CEO participation with a corporate board. Also, the board of directors make decisions for shareholders as a fiduciary, while seeking commercial stability of the company. The board of directors is in charge of hiring and firing executives. • 33. The American Revolution The American Revolution was the struggle by which thirteen colonies won independence from Great Britain, to become what we now know as The United States of America. The American Revolution came about primarily because the colonists had matured. Their interests and goals were so different and distant from those of the mother country. Local politics, practices, social customs, religious beliefs, and economic interests had gone so far from the English ways. The American Revolution had a tremendous impact not only in The United States, but also in Europe and the rest of the world. The Navigation Acts channeled the flow of colonial raw materials into England and kept foreign goods and vessels out of colonial ports. The Navigation Acts incorporated multiple laws that were created over a period of time. The Acts were passed with the theory of mercantilism, which restricted free trade. They were intended to keep foreign goods and vessels out of colonial ports. The Navigation Act of 1651 banned imported goods from other countries, unless the ship or cargo had an all British crew. The second Act was extended to exports in addition to imports. Four more Acts were passed between the years of 1662 and 1773, which proposed even more restrictions on trade. And with this not acting upon any real plan of moving forward. Short Term: In the short term, this policy may keep the peace for a short while. With this we also risk backlash from Russia, from getting involved even covertly in this conflict. The desire, would be to accomplish this without Russia knowing, which is rather unlikely, and therefore, we would be risking whether they might retaliate against the United States. For this plan to work, we need to assure the Ukraine of the strength of our alliance, and must be willing to enter further into the conflict to support Ukraine in the backlash from Russia. As to not do so could very well result in a Bay of Pigs situation. Long Term: As for the long term affects, our greatest fear would lay on what we risk by putting weapons in the hands of the Ukrainian s. We ve seen several former Soviet states, with weapons supplied by Russia, from using these weapons further and in conflicts we disapprove of. To keep this from happening a close eye on the Ukraine would be required, once more draining resources further. In terms of long term peace, this option is the most fitting, with this retaining our alliances and possibly getting our desires in the end. • 36. The Invisible Man Analysis The story The Invisible Man is written by Ralph Ellison. The author takes his personal experiences as an ignored man and creates this character that shows the characteristics of a man whom few people would stop to acknowledge. This story can be seen as a symbol of an educated black man whose life has been controlled and oppressed by a white society. Throughout the story one will notice that the man is nameless. The is because the narrator in The Invisible Man is invisible not only to others but himself as well because of racism and trying to live up to expectations of others. There are certain tools that are given to him by outsiders and things he will use that will ultimately develop him into student and man. The author has written about events that made the invisible man who he was. It is important to notice that the invisible man has been searching for his identity the whole time and will later discover that his identity is in those things he has always had. This story also uses appeal of pathetic to grab the reader s attention. Throughout the story the author, Ralph Ellison, struggles to attempt to uncover the invisible man s identity that is buried beneath oppression. It is important to understand that the invisible man is an African American male who sates that he is only looked down on because of his skin color (Ellison). Ralph Ellison goes in detail by showing us how lies can be seen as an obstacle to anyone s journey of finding himself and his true identity. These obstacles are expressed in Ralph Ellison s usage of symbols and imagery portrays those obstacles. The man is faced with these obstacles of deception in his ability to make his own life, but instead is confined to live the life in white men s society. The purpose calls for action to the public to open their eyes to realize that racism is a problem that will not go away; it is something that must be forced to an end whereby men are willing to be themselves in the process. In the story, the narrator has set out to search for his true identity, but this idea of why he is blind to the world leads him to become blind in the process. The American Dream has always been characterized by a thriving job market, opportunities for advancement, stability, etc. It is the pursuit of individual achievement without consideration for moral or legal restrictions (Angulski, 2013). This idea dates back as far as 1630 to the puritan colonists. It was first established within a sermon given by John Winthrop while sailing to Massachusetts. This sermon set into motion the ideals that we have adapted today enveloping the American Dream . From then on Americans put their faith in the theory that if you work hard and do the right thing you will manifest your goals and eventually attain success and comfortability.
