Essay On The Indian Cow Essay On The Indian Cow
Poverty in Latin America
Poverty, or the inability to afford basic human needs, is an issue that is spread
worldwide. There are people everywhere who cannot afford shelter, food, healthcare, or
education. It seems easy enough to ignore the bum asking for change on the street, but it
becomes near impossible in regions where whole families are begging on the street. This
rings true in Latin Americaand it is extremely frustrating to see social inequality this
extreme. This essay will examine how much povertyexists in Latin America, why the
amount of poverty is so disproportionate and what can possibly be done to alleviate the
amount of poverty in these countries. According to Lopez (2000), the poverty level in
Latin America is far worse in ruralareas like Mexico and the Andean countries.
Government agencies, organizations and intellectuals across the world have
expressed unease about the extreme amounts of poverty in Latin America
(Mamalakis, 1996). The exact level of poverty in Latin America can only be projected
because of the high number of people living in rural areas. This problem is only
exacerbated by the number of countries in the Latin America region. Lopez (2000)
projects that over sixty percent of citizens beneath the poverty level live in rural areas
across Latin America. Those rural areas are more susceptible to poverty because there
is less access to jobs and resources. Whole families, including children, are impoverished
because they are forced to live off of the

Female Supers Essay
There is no secret that the demand for female #superheroes is on the rise. From
#WonderWoman s success at the box office (We love you, #PattyJenkins!) to the
upcoming #Batgirl, fans are coming out in force.
Even before WonderWoman, #YoungJustice helped to launch female supers into a male
dominated world.
Young Justice evenly uses its male and female characters. Within the first season of the
show, there are only two main female heroes. During Season 2, additional female
characters were added.
Let s take a good, long look at the female characters in Young Justice that kicked butt.

Shortcoming In My Writing
Another shortcoming in my procedures for writing was not utilizing a person or
program to proof read my papers. So it became, during a session of self deprecating
humor with a friend I made mention of a hard fought after average grade that he
remarked of using an Internet proofreading service. Of course, I loosely took it under
advisement, however, I mostly scoffed it off I already spent too much time on the papers.
But nonetheless, I looked into the service without success of finding the unicorn free
proofreader that would change my writing. In the act of me challenging his unicorn, he
decided to show me the site. Low and behold, it was as he described, it gave
grammatical, spelling, vocabulary, and other writing advice based off my first... Show

Just get it done Patrick you ll do alright, you will not get a great grade, but it will get
done and then four more papers to go, so that s what I did and what became of it, an
average grade as expected. That s when I noticed another factor came into play; I started
writing a draft paragraph at a time and using the proofreader followed by making the
corrections and leaving the paper at that for the day before revisiting the paragraph for
review. Furthermore, I would come back the next day read the objectives of the
assignment and the previous paragraph to see that it complied before moving forward to
the next paragraph. In conclusion, the implementation of a few different techniques and
tools discussed in this reflection has improved my ability to write effectively and
produced vastly improved results. As for the disciplines, I feel a better grasp of the
disciplines of social and natural sciences as I moved through the subjects than I initially
had when I wrote the first assignment for the course. Furthermore, this experience and
the lessons learned during the course will provide a stable platform as I move forward in
my continued education and pursuit of a
Examples Of Ethos In Jonathan Edwards
Jonathan Edwards was a preacher who was invited to Enfield, Connecticut to speak to
the churches congregation. The leaders of the church saw him as a profound speaker of
God and wanted their congregation to get back in line and stop straying away from their
roots of Puritanism. Edwards believed in following Godand the Puritan religionwhich
made him the perfect candidate to speak to the people. By using ethos, pathos, and logos
he instilled fear into the congregation to persuade them to change their ways and follow
in God s path.
Ethos is referring to credibility, character and confidence through gaining trust with the
intended audience. Edwards uses ethos when he his explaining to the congregation how
important it is to take advantage of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edwards uses pathos when he is trying to persuade his audience to follow God and go
back to Puritanism. Edwards uses imagery to appeal to pathos; which is a description
that helps create a picture in the audience s mind to create emotion. Edwards uses
imagery when he is describing to the congregation the dreadful pit of the glowing
flames of the wrath of God; there is Hell s wide gaping mouth open; and you have
nothing to stand upon, nor anything to take hold of; there is nothing between you and
Hell but the air; it is only the power and mere pleasure of God that holds you up. The
description of hell and how God is the only thing stopping them from falling into this
dreadful pit creates a vivid description for the audience and creates a sense of fear
making them realize that they need to change their ways to avoid this fear of hell.
Edwards also uses simile, which is a comparison between two unlike things using like
or as to help establish a common understanding and similarities between the two
things. Edwards uses a simile when comparing how Gods ...wrath towards you burns
like fire; he looks upon you as worthy of nothing else, but to be cast into the fire... ADD
The comparison of God s wrath being like fire helps create a feeling of terror and
distress. The audience also gains an understanding about how if they do not change their
ways they will have to face the fiery wrath of
Companion Pet Population
Controlling the Companion Pet Population
There is an alarming amount of stray dogs on the street and the number only increases
due to the fact that these dogs were not fixed. These medical procedures will help
control overcrowding in dog shelters. Since these shelters do not have the space or the
funds to care for all of the unwanted dogs they end up euthanized. All pet owners should
be required to spay/neuter their pets unless the owner applies for breeder rights if the pet
is to be breed. Spay/neutering will not only help prevent the population problems within
the shelters but outside as well and it will help prevent these pet from becoming
euthanized.
First, a big issue that rises from the lack of spays and neuters is that it creates an ... Show

If spaying and neutering became mandatory it would keep the number of unwanted dogs
lowered. Other countries, like the United Kingdom, have a 63% drop in euthanasia rates
after implementing population control methods (Trends in Stray Dog Numbers). The dogs
are the ones that are suffering from the lack of initiative to make this change. They
deserve a good loving forever home without fear of being sentenced to death at a shelter
Even though euthanizing can have its benefits using it to control the dog population
should not be an option. Euthanasia is not all bad in every instance that it is applied.
Health issues in dogs that are clearly suffering and will die shortly can benefit from
being euthanized and put out of their misery. Many dogs get injured past the point where
any surgery can mend and those dogs also benefit from euthanasia.
There are so many negative the arise from the lack of spays and neuters that could be
easily fixed by one law. Enforcing a spay/neuter law can prevent or at least minimize the
amount of stray dogs suffering in the streets that create overcrowded shelters who
euthanize these innocent dogs. Make the change and end the unnecessary killing of these

mentoring student nurses, shift co ordinating my unit including other units in the
entire hospital. Since we have a common purpose and I offer direction to patients and
other colleagues would suggest a form of leadership as suggested by Hafford

their competence levels. My personal attributes as per trait theory plays a major role in
ensuring information is delivered appropriately. Kindness, accessibility and good
understanding are some of the attributes I possess. Though at times, aspects of
frustrations and annoyance would be evident when tasks are not performed as required.
Due to the varying traits staff possess, I have learnt to approach issues differently. One
of my styles of leadership is situational leadership. This ensures leaders tailor their style
depending on the circumstance at hand. It s worth noting that as leaders the varying
changes in situations require some form of flexibility. (SOURCE) advocates that clinical
leaders do change their style to work better with various groups using the approaches of
situational leadership. Nevertheless, having been a mentor only recently, I ensured that I

The Game Theory of Baseball
Decision making in Baseball Baseball is a great game to analyze from game theory
perspective because of the scale of strategic decisions that are continuously made on
the fields and each play. In every play, there are various players (baseball players,
coaches, team managers and owners) with different goals and payoffs, and thousands of
pitch by pitch decisions are made in course of an at bat, inning, game, and season. Major
League Baseball, one of the four major professional sports leagues of North America, is
the most suitable platform for analysis because statistical information is tracked for
almost every single complexion of the game. In the following paper, we choose to
inspect one at bat decision of a single game in detail as a... Show more content on

In general, for defense side, minimizing opponent s batting average would be the
priority. In this case, the optimal choice for Leyland is to choose Porcello against
Ortiz with lowest BA .286. However, the situation here is not that simple. As Ortiz
representing tie run, minimizing his slugging rate would be more essential than his
batting average because a long hit (slugging) would cause greater damage; Tigers was
5 1 lead which was situation that single is more acceptable than extra base hit because
a single might only cause they lost 2 runs and a extra base hit might cause 3 or 4 runs.
Thus, considering minimum damage as priority, using Benoit would be the optimal
choice for Leyland, same as we figured out in last paragraph. In the report of Jim Caple
ii, Benoit is our guy against lefties and we felt he gave us the best chance to get the out,
Leyland said.
Benoit v.s. Ortiz Following the conclusion from our game tree, Leyland chose to use
Benoit in to face Ortiz. In order to analyze the theoretic decisions in this at bat, we will
look at the possible outcomes and decisions on pitch by pitch basis. In order to inspect
pitch selection issues, we will set the payoff based on Runs Above Average (RAA).
RAA measures a hitter s ability to create runs based on the pitch that

Abstract
The business problem to be solved is how to improve operational efficiency, reduce
customer wait time, and minimize the risk of losing or misplacing a customer s items,
which will preserve profit by reducing preventable losses. The current system and
process is outdated and flawed, which is causing customer dissatisfaction and loss of
profit.

Color In The Great Gatsby
The past is never where you think you left it (Katherine Anne Porter). People
intentionally not willing to leave their past due to the prehistoric memories because
the good memory they had. Relevant to Porter s evince in the novel of The Great
Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jay Gatsby a guy who cannot leave his past, constantly
wanting to change everything back to the past with his former lover Daisy but never
succeeds due to people desire of meliorate their lives. During this process the novel also
reveals that there s no distinction of careless between people in the 1920 s and the
corruption of American Dream. Fitzgerald uses color symbolism to reveal the unfaithful

Grey is the color that s everywhere among the valley implies the unfaithful condition
of those people who lives there. Under the circumstance of that time, people cannot
override these obstacles to be successful; therefore the American Dream is not
achievable for them since the poor have no opportunities to progress their will. In
addition when Tom told Wilson, Gatsby killed his wife in the valley of ashes. Wilson s
glazed eyes turned out to the ashheaps, where small grey clouds took on fantastic
shape and scurried here and there in the faint dawn wind (Fitzgerald 167). Through
Wilson s grey eyes once it again proves the dilemma people have to go through.
Meanwhile Tom in this case represents the corrupted one utilizing Wilson as a tool to
go against Gatsby. By applying the color grey it shows the hopeless of the poor and
spreading the corruption among people. Furthermore, when Nick and Tom went to
Gatsby s party, they gathered and talk about the surrounding of Gatsby s mansion. It
was dawn now on Long Island and we went about opening the rest of the windows
downstairs, filling the house with grey turning, gold turning light (Fitzgerald 159). Both
two colors gold and grey are being implied. Gold means the wealth, grey in another
hand means the depravity that exists among the wealth. Fitzgerald used grey and gold
describe Gatsby s house since he is rich in a way, but he got his money from a
unregulated way, which shows among the
Economic Policies, Fiscal Policy And The Monetary Policy
A recession does not just affect the lives of the people in the country that is having a
downturn in there economy but also it affect the global economy. The United States have
had several economy catastrophes that almost crippled the United State and the rest of
the world causing the government to act fast to slow down the economic downward
spiral. The United States government throughout history has attempted to develop plans
to slow down or prevent the country from having a complete economic meltdown. In
this paper I will explore two expansionary economic policies, fiscal policy and the
monetary policy which the federal government uses to help move the economy out of a
recession and effects they have on taxes, interest rate, GDP, and employment. The Great
Depressionis one of the greatest economic devastation in history and the government
was unsure how to bandage or slow down the bleeding. The Great Depression was a
learning experience for the United States government and was where the Government
would prepare and come up with a plan to deter or prevent another depression. In the
1930s, the Great Depression was caused from the stock market crashing and caused the
global decline which had the value of investment steady decline. Not only did this
decline affect big business and the rich but also it affect the middle class and poor,
incomes, production of product, sales of production, investment and stock value

Francis Bacon as Shakespeare
Francis Bacon as Shakespeare For almost four hundred years the question of who truly
wrote the works attributed to William Shakespeare has been studied meticulously by
many scholars and historians. There have been many well qualified contenders, including
Sir Francis Bacon. Because of the incredible number of coincidences between
Shakespeare and Bacon, it is obvious that Bacon wrote Shakespeare. Firstly, the actor
William Shakespeare, who is the supposed author of Shakespeare s works, could not
have written them. He had no formal education after thirteen, was from a small
provincial town, was a professional actor, had two daughters who were illiterate, didn
t mention any of his works in his will, and whose only surviving handwriting is six
signatures on legal documents (Rubenstein 69). Shakespeare is considered one of the
greatest authors in history, and without a formal education the intricacy of his work
would be impossible. It should also be put in consideration that many of Shakespeare s
works were not only published but edited after his death. From the publication of The
Taming of the Shrew in 1594 to the publication of the First Folio in 1623, 4,936 new
lines were added to the plays, a majority of which were added posthumously (sirbacon).
This in itself is evidence enough to disprove Shakespeare entirely. Unlike William
Shakespeare, Sir Francis Bacon was very well qualified to have written Shakespeare s
works. Bacon was a highly educated Member of
Causes Of Desertification
Desertification is a dynamic process where viable soil becomes degraded land typically
resulting from human activities such as deforestation, inappropriate agriculture, or
simply due to due climatic variations like drought. Desertification occurs globally in a
variety of regions, yet not all regions are alike, thus different forces that may be
responsible for desertification. For example, in a region like Africa there are huge
atmospheric cycles that occur near the equator that pushes dry air towards Africa. Other
forms of desertification can be driven in this area by the extensive agriculturethat sustains
Africa s growing population. It may also be the lack of advanced technology that has
gave first world countries a competitive edge in assessing soils, increasing agricultural
production, and lowering pollution levels. In another region such as China, the result of
desertification in places around the country derive from toxic levels of pollution, human
alteration of the land, and natural causes. Though China may have advanced technology,
they still have problems figuring out ways to mitigate this problem due to their gigantic
population size. Even the United Stateshas been through a drastic event that caused a
huge economic impact and left thousands of landowners unable to farm and make
revenue for many years. Although many of these regions have different factors
contributing to desertification, many similar trends can be seen that ultimately point to
desertification.
The Premise of the Cosmological Arguement and Some
Objections
Parmenides of Elea once presented the expression ex nihilo nihil fit, which translates to
nothing comes from nothing for one of his many theses. The Cosmological Argument, an
argument of the posteriori category, meaning that it requires data based on past
experiences, argues for the existence of God with this type of expression at its core. By
attempting to prove how the universe must be influenced by an independent being that
has godlike qualities, cosmological arguments suggest that it is rational to believe in an
omnipotent being and its accountability of creating the universe. Typically, cosmological
arguments occur in two different phases. The first phase s purpose is to provide the
premise that there is a first cause or an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this in mind, we can say that the third premise, which states that if something exists
now, then something has always existed, is valid. After all, if something exists now, there
must have been something to cause it or nothing would exist. According to the fourth
premise of the Cosmological Argument, if something has always existed, then reality is
either a series of dependent beings, or there is an independent being that has existed at
all times. This premise, supported by PSRa, is based around the belief that there must be
an infinite succession of dependent beings, or an always present independent being. In
other words, the existence of a series of dependent beings would be caused by the series
before it, which would have been caused by the series before it, which would have been
caused by the series before it, and so on. The other possible explanation would be that
there is an independent being that always existed and acted as starting point to this
infinite pattern, as PSRa states that there must be an explanation to what would have
caused the start of the whole series. After arguing for the two possible explanations for
the existence of everything with the fourth premise, the fifth premise denies the
possibility of an infinite chain
Pain With Pain Has No Gain
Pain Has No Gain I had my first surgery during the summer of 2015. Sitting at home in
my cozy living room, a sense of pain came across my throat and my ears felt like they
were full of water. I asked my mom to look in my mouth because every time I
swallowed, it felt like a piece of sandpaper scraped my throat. I remember her saying
we should go to the doctor in the morning because of the white, clammy spots deep in
the back of my throat that should not be there. The worst was yet to come. The next
morning came around and my mom took me to the hospital. When we got there, we
off course had to check in at the front desk. After that we sat in the clinic waiting room
watching the kids play with monster trucks and colored blocks for what seemed to be
forever. Finally the nurse announced my name and I could go to the back room, she
asked for symptoms that have been unusual. We had to do so many tests, including the
one where they poke a stick in the back of your throat. I never looked forward to that
because it was the most painful part of the whole process. I hated the dreadful taste the
tongue depressor left in my mouth. The nurse then left the room with the swab that she
swiped across my throat. We sat there in silence until she came back, the worse was
expected, I tested positive for strep throat. After having to stay home an extra day from
school, due to having to wait a full 24 hours for the antibiotic to kick in, I sluggishly
walked around the house for what seemed
The Importance Of Psychological Awareness In Raymond...
Psychological Awareness What do you think of when you think of the 80 s? Girls
dressed in bright neon clothes that had shoulder pads and leg warmers, with hair
teased so high it didn t look natural, and wearing bright blue or pink eyeshadow? Or
maybe boys in all denim, pinned to look tight jeans with an oversized denim jacket? It
was a time for fashion and music to thrive. It was completely normal to be all about me
in the 80 s. Raymond Carvers Cathedral was written in 1983, and the narrator is very
self absorbed and insular. This coincides with the ambience of the time period,
reflecting the majority of society. The narrator s wife has an old friend, who happens
to be blind. His wife has just died, so he is going to stay with the narrator and his wife
for a bit. The narrator is very passive aggressive towards him and even pulls childish
pranks on him. Eventually the two are left alone and the narrator realizes how narrow
minded he has been his entire life. In Carver s Cathedral, the narrator s lack of social
depth and tolerance for others mimics that of the societal norm, which reverses when his
wife s blind friend, Robert, strains the narrator s mentality.
The narrator is a characterized representation of society, and how society can change
when immersed in deviant lifestyles. According to Kirk Nesset (1994), Still, Carver
implies, it is through our collaboration with others that we free ourselves from the
slavery of self absorption (para 30). This means that
James Cook Essay
what did Cook go through in the Royal Navy, and how did he start being an explorer?
Main question Why was James Cook Important, and what made him so?
Captain James cook (27th October 1728 14th February 1779) was a British explorer,
navigator, cartographer, and captain in the Royal Navy.
Cook was known for his three voyages of exploration and scientific discoveries of the
pacific ocean.
Cook marked the coastlines of Australia and New Zealand, paving the way for British
colonization of these lands, which eventually lead to the killing of aboriginal people and
their culture.
he was married to Elisabeth cook in 1762, in 16 years of marriage, they were together for
4, they had 6 children, and Elisabeth buried all, alone. She survives James, by 56 years,
dying at 93.
Cook was born in Yorkshire, in northern England, far from the sea, in 27th October 1728.

However, James cook somehow managed to climb up the ladder in to higher social
classes. We can also see the impacts of education on Cook s life, and how he would have
just stayed a farmer without education. James Cook was also offered many
opportunities in his life and he grabbed all of them. For example, James Cooked learned
cartography when for a person of his status if wouldn t have been necessary, but then it
later came to use of him, and it was because of his skills in cartography he climbed up
the social ladder. Finally, Cook was a fast learner and a hardworking man, and we can see
the qualities of a person of success from Cook even from his early
The Effects Of Workplace Violence On The Workplace
Workplace violence (WPV) is defined as any act or threat of physical violence,
harassment, intimidation, or other threatening disruptive behavior that occurs at the
work site (OSHA, n.d., para. 1). For the nursing profession these threats include the
following sources: nurse to nurse, patient to nurse, relatives to nurse, other health
professionals to nurse. WPV happens in all healthcare settings, however some units are
known to have higher incidences than others. One healthcare setting that is well known
for having high incidences of patient to nurse violence is the ED. Factors that contribute
to the increase of WPV in the ED include: long wait times, patients with mental disorders,
patients who have a history of violence, and patients... Show more content on

However, he continued to curse at us and even tried spitting at nurse. The nurse
continued to inform him that in order to fully assess him, so that we could see the
extent of injuries and treat him, we needed him to calm down. As I was pulling the
gown out to ask him to change, he ripped the gown from my hands. Before I knew it,
he had it tied around the nurse s neck, choking him. I immediately called out for help;
meanwhile the nurse was able to get out of the choke hold, and the police were there
soon after to help contain him. In the end, the nurse nor the patient were seriously
injured. The nurse went on to finish his shift and a report was filed. After a few days, I
was talking to the nurse and asked him what was done about the incident to which he
replied, Nothing, there is nothing we can do, we do run the incident up the chain, but
nothing will be done, it is just part of what we do here. This mindset that WPV is just
part of the job is what makes this issue even more severe. WPV is essentially promoted
by the healthcare staff since it is not thought of as an issue. The development of programs
and policies to prevent WPV is essential throughout healthcare institutions and should
include programs that are unit specific. This is critical to better ensure the safety of both
nurses and patients. The repercussions of not implementing such programs are numerous
and its negative effects are far
Welfare Programs And The Welfare Program

into the country to help out and benefit the citizens that live in this country. Some of
these programs include Social Security, an insurance program providing benefits to
retired people, the unemployed, and the disabled (Investopedia); Medicare, a health

Most of the money that supports these United States citizens in need is the money
generated from the annual taxes the citizens pay to the government. Then, the money

Welfare began for many reasons. Welfare didn t fully start in the United States until
1939, but there were similar programs to Welfare that had previously existed in the
United States before 1939. Under Franklin D. Roosevelt s presidency, in 1939, there
were many programs started that would provide relief to the citizens in the United
States that needed the aid from the government. These programs would eventually be
modified or combined and would form the Welfare system of the United States. The
purpose of the programs of 1939 was intended to help the citizens who needed to get
back on their feet , and be able to fully provide for their families once again. These
programs are here to allow people to address the financial situations in their lives while
still having the daily necessities of life being provided to them by the government of
the United States. Welfare s purpose is almost directly identical to the programs of 1939
s purposes. Welfare was originally begun with the purpose to promote the motivation of
finding employment, securing a position at a job, and hopefully a better standard of
living for those who many need it in the United
The Tempest the Play by William Shakespeare Essay
The Tempest the Play by William Shakespeare Ruler s in general face many problems,
as is the nature of having power and authority. However rulers like Prospero face even
more difficulties, as Prospero has the ultimate power of magic and can control and
manipulate people and their actions, more so than a natural ruler. The first difficulty
presented is an issue, which is dealt with throughout the play: the idea of how much or
how little to intervene? From the beginning of the play we are told of how and why
Prospero is usurped from his dukedom, I thus neglecting worldly ends, all dedicated/ To

This idea is further developed in Act 2, scene1 where, as previously mentioned
Sebastian and Antonio attempt to kill Gonzalo in his sleep. Illustrating the disloyal
nature of those individuals close to those in power. This is of course the main reason
why Prospero is on the island because of his trusting and naive nature, of those around
him. This theme is explored in numerous Shakespearian dramas and is perhaps the
worst danger for a monarch in Shakespeare s plays. Good rulers get deposed and killed
when they are too trusting; when they fail to be aware of usurpers and betrayers.
Hamlet s father is shocked that his brother would unnaturally murder him. Lear
believes his inherent kingship will inspire reverence even when he strips himself of
real power. Edgar, who with tragic naivety trusts his brother Edmund, has to learn to
deceive and dissemble before he s qualified to become king. Duncan can t find the
mind s construction in the face , so he s killed by a traitor with a false face. That s why
Malcolm, before he becomes king, has to demonstrate his ability to lie to Macduff, to test

television shows are fiction, the statements are factual and are part of the U.S.
Constitution to protect a person against self incrimination. Self incrimination plays a vast
part of the Bill of Right, specifically the Fifth Amendment. The Fifth Amendment has
protected many Americans from punishment. Yet, this Amendment also has made it
possible for guilty verdicts in criminal cases. This was possible with the historical
adoption of the Fifth Amendment, the implementation of the five different clauses, and
numerous criminal cases that established the strength of the Fifth Amendment.
The philosophies behind the Fifth Amendment traced back to Magna Carta, 1215. The
Magna Carta specified that No person shall ... be deprived of life, liberty, or property,
without due process of law ... . Although England s King John did not agree to the term
willingly, the Magna Carta was signed in hope to build a relationship between the
King and the nobles and keep the peace. Unfortunately, the signed Magna Carta
annulled by Pope Innocent II. In 1613, Sir Edward Coke also advocated for the Magna
Carta as part of his approach toward the power struggle of the courts. Coke argued that
all matters needed to be addressed through the law of the
Analysis Of Billy Collins Speech
In Billy collins speech, the main goal was to revive poetry in a new way for people to
expand their understanding of poetry. First, he used animation to a create a vivid
understanding and illustrate his poems. Additionally, the use of animated poems helped
in clarifying some of the important aspect of poetry, which is the use of imagination and
explication. Thus, I was able to develop a new interest of the types of poetry. Next, he
was able to clarify that poetry require more comprehensive and intense thinking process,
unlike the way it was seen in the animation. This is one of the most common mistakes
people anticipate upon reading poems which is the underestimation of the poem
complexity. Then, he was able to include humor in his poem which.

Butler County is a predominately Caucasian county, located north of Pittsburgh, in
Western Pennsylvania. The culture of Butler County is shaped by the limited diversity
of the area. Much of the population residing in Butler County are also somewhere

framework for building theory that sees society as an arena of inequality that generates

The varying ages have different interpretations of symbols. Acknowledging the broad
age range of 18 to 65, one would realize that there would be different interests of a
young college student compared to a professor getting close to retirement. The
Symbolic Interaction Approach is a framework for building theory that sees society as
the product of the everyday interactions of individuals (Macionis 18). Every human has
symbols which they often associate with other certain objects or place. One example of
symbolic interaction is social media. Most adolescents use social media to be cool,
adults use it to keep in touch with acquaintances, and the elderly think that social media
is a waste of time. Another example could be going to Alameda Park. Alameda is a park
located in Butler Pennsylvania. Children go to Alameda park for thrill and excitement,
parents go to see the happiness their children experience, while elderly people may
reconcile the memories they had as a child. Since a society is defined as a people who
live in a defined territory and share a way of life , different age groups could
potentially be a part of separate societies (Macionis 3). Eventually, the older generation
will have disappeared in Butler County and more liberal views will be installed upon.

Drug Abuse Essay
Thesis: Drug abuse, also known as substance abuse, is a patterned use of a drug in which
the user consumes the substance in amounts or with methods which are harmful to
themselves or others. Many teens turn to marijuana, prescription drugs, club drugs,
alcohol, or other substances as a means of coping with stress, peer influence, and failure
of parents to prevent their children from making unreasonable decisions.
According to the yearly Monitoring the Future survey of high school age teenagers in the
United States, by the time our kids complete high school, a minimum of 40 percent have
consumed an illicit drug and 70 percent have consumed alcohol.

youngsters at higher risk for emotional, physical and mental health problems. Because
parents who abuse alcohol or other drugs are more likely to be involved with domestic

parent effectively is severely compromised.
III. According to the Mental Health Center of California, more than 8 million children
live with at least one parent who s addicted to alcohol or drugs. A. This number
includes 14% of children younger than 2, 12% aged 6 to 11 years old, and 10% of
youth between the ages of 12 and 17. B. Children of substance abusing parents are at
risk for a wide variety of other negative outcomes, including emotional, social, and
behavioral adjustment problems as well as challenges in cognitive and academic
functioning. Risk for poor emotional and behavioral among children living with a
parent who has a substance abuse history are reported among those as young as 2 to 3

Section 2. Outline
There are a number of ways to outline a paper, and the Walden Writing Center has a
page dedicated to this if you want to learn more: http://writingcenter.waldenu.edu
/318.htm. Below you will be taken through a step by step process to fill in sections of
an outline in the boxes below. Of course most outlines won t look like this (no boxes
and no instructions on exactly what should go where), but hopefully this will give you
an idea of how an outline should look so that you can use the idea of outlining in your
future papers. Please be sure to write in complete sentences in the designated boxes
below.
Outlines will normally use Roman Numerals (I, II, III and so forth). After the
numbers, letters are used (A, B, C and so forth). Basic rules say that if you have a I ,
then you need to have a II, and if you have an A, then you must have a B. We will follow
this format:
I.I.Introduction
II.II.Body
III.III.Conclusion
So, you already have the first section, the introduction, of this outline done. Below you
will fill in some parts about the body of the outline. The body refers to the majority of

How Is Antoine Portrayed In The 400 Blows
The True Pain Of Punishment in 400 Blows In the film, The 400 Blows, Antoine s no
stranger to punishment. Antoine s engulfed in controversy, essentially from the
beginning. Although he is not the only troubled and misguided student in his class, he is
by far, the only child punished exceptionally harshly in public. Antoine s humiliation
from his teacher, coupled with his distant, irresponsible and immoral mother as a parental
figure in his life causes him a lot of internal conflict. Without someone there to guide him,
these circumstances are bound to, in essence, cultivate the extremely poor environmental
conditions that stifle Antoine s growth into maturity. Therefore, almost by default,
Antoine becomes a juvenile delinquent because he... Show more content on

another man. She pretends not to have seen him watching her. She doesn t have any
regard for her family nor marriage. She doesn t show concern in handling Antoine s
behavior. She does not inquiry Antoine on where he is going, who he is with, nor why
he decides to ditch school. Surprisingly, she chooses to completely neglect Antoine. She
calls her husband, lies to him about her whereabouts so she can leave him with the full
responsibilities of caring for Antoine. Her lack of good judgment sparks an argument
between her and her husband. She clearly does not show him, nor Antoine any type of
remorse for her behavior. However, she puts a deeper wedge between her, her husband
and Antoine by claiming that she should have sent Antoine to boarding school so she
could have a respite. There is no appreciation for Antoine s stepfather caring for Antoine
on her behalf. It s no secret that Antoine s mother wanted to abort him, but her constant
reminders of her disdain for him further drives him emotionally away. This was so
damaging to Antoine that on the next day at school, he tells the school administration
that his mother is dead. Antoine s mother is financially irresponsible. When Antoine asks
her for lunch money, she sends him away to ask his stepfather instead. On another
occasion, the morning Antoine s mother rushes him awake from sleep, his pajamas
The Vietnam War Was A Result Of The United Statesв

The Vietnam War was a result of the United States involvement in the Cold War against
the USSR. The main goal of the United States during the Cold War was to contain
communism and prevent the USSR from affecting other countries with their communist

communism spread to Vietnam, then other countries in Southeast Asia would become
more susceptible to adopting communism. As a result, The United Statesentered a war in

One aspect of American masculinity is their need to satisfy their own needs, which
includes them satisfying their need for sexual interaction. So while the American
soldiers were away from home, they relied on the Vietnamese civilian women to
satisfy this need. This urge of American soldiers to seek sexual interactions with the
Vietnamese is demonstrated by a quote of a former Vietnamese prostitute. In an article
that describes a vocational training center for young girls recovering in South
Vietnam, a former prostitute says I used to earn 2,000 piasters [about $4.50] a night in
Qui Nhon [...] with the Americans I could demand even more. When I leave here and
join a hairdresser s it ll take me a week to earn the same. This former prostitute reveals
the desperate urge of American soldiers to satisfy their sexual desires because they are
willing to overpay for a prostitute s services. American masculinity is the reason that
interaction between these two groups took place. The American service member had a
desire for sexual interaction, and the Vietnamese civilian women were able to satisfy
this desire. This is not a result of race, as this would imply that the Americans sought out
Vietnamese because of their race. The reason Vietnamese women were chosen to satisfy
the Americans desire was because of their ease of access. Vietnamese prostitutes were
the easiest way for American soldiers to appease their sex drive, so they took advantage
of this opportunity.

Joseph Smith s Influence On Religion
Joseph Smith founded the Church of the Latter Day Saints in 1830. Smith was born in
December of 1805 in Sharon, Vermont; however he grew up mostly in New York. His
family lived in the western part of New York, which was known as the burned over
district, because of the religious excitement that was taking place during the Second
Great Awakening. Smith s family was divided; they could decide which church to join.
As a child he wanted nothing more than to find the truth. This deliberation occupied
his thoughts and prayer life as a young boy. It was James 1:5 that had the largest
impact on him; If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to
all without reproach, and it will be given him. He followed the instructions in this verse
and asked the Lord for wisdom. In 1820,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was married to Emma Hale from 1827 to the day that he died in 1844. Together
they had nine children; however, only five of those children lived past the age of two.
Seemingly the most important thing in Joseph s life was being there to love his wife
and children. However, despite that fact, Joseph did institute the theology of
polygamy, (that is, taking multiple wives.) It is believed that he was sealed to at least
3 dozen women. Smith claimed that it was an angel that told him to not only practice,
but also institute polygamy in the church. This is probably the biggest criticism that
people use against Joseph Smith. He was someone who claimed to care for nothing
more that family, and yet, he took a nearly innumerable amount of wives during his
lifetime. Despite being adored by so many, and creating a successful religion, he was
despised by yet so many; he and his brother were killed by a mob attack in prison on
June, 27 1844 in Carthage, Illinois. Joseph Smith is still remembered and respected by
all Mormons as the founder of the church, but more importantly, as a prophet of

According to Gnoffo (2005), by the end of 2004, Forrester Research estimated there
were TiVos and other DVRs in 6.5 million US households, up from 1.9 million in 2002.
That number, the firm claims, will climb to almost 50 million by 2009, representing
41% of all US households. On another front, the popularity of Netflix, an online
subscription service boasting 3 million users, prompted both Blockbuster and Wal
Mart to offer similar services whereby people rent DVDs for an unlimited time for a
monthly fee. While it s true that DVDs may be a cash cow for studios, theaters suffer
when patrons skip the cinema experience and wait for those releases at home.
Needless to say, given the increase in entertainment options, the movie going
experience needs to be far more compelling to draw in audience members. Moreover,
this challenge is not likely to subside, but rather grow more compelling: as discussed by

Evaluate how managing resources and controlling budget...
Evaluate how managing resources and controlling budget costs can improve the
performance of a business. (D1)
Managing resources of a business can be hard for the business they have to maintain the
resources by doing various checks over the years. For example maintaining a physical
resource like a building, can be challenging, but in order to maintain it, a business has to
insurance the building and the contents need to be in place, if the building needs repairs
then they need to be repaired in time, the building needs to have security systems in

When running a business there is fixed costs that are always the same, these include
costs such as rent, insurance and road tax. Knowing the changes of your fixed costs
could save a lot of time and keep a more clearly financial statement and management
decisions. For example the government orders all insurance on cars to increase by 15%,
this used to be a fixed cost however on the odd occasion it can change. Applying close
attention to changes within fixed costs can be crucial and will improve the performance
of management decisions in the future as you have valid data to hand. The pricing in
times like the recession for rent could always be changing and product prices can go up
or down according to competitors within the marketing environment, using invalid
information for predictions on what will happen with the business is suicidal and
managing resources and budgets can cover this problem and in turn improve the
company s performance by making accurate marketing decisions that will benefit the
company.
Also, in any recession businesses need to insure their safety by keeping reserves from the
cash flow cycle for emergencies. An emergency could render anything from a downturn
in the market to an offensive attack on your business premises, keeping reservations will
help soften the effects of these situations. Business analysts recommend that

A Speech On The Rotary Club
Greenwood Rotary Club May 2, 2016 It s honor to be with you again. This is an

for. Spring commencement is coming up in a few days, and we will be awarding
around 2,600 undergraduate and graduate degrees. Our total for the academic year
will surpass 4,000 for the fifth year in a row. Providing more college educated workers
and leaders for our state is a top priority. We just produced our 18th Truman Scholar. It
is the second year in a row that one of our students has earned that high honor,
recognizing the nation s top students planning careers in public service. This spring we
also had a new Goldwater Scholar, a prestigious national honor for students in science,
engineering and technology. Our baseball team is back near the top, ranked in the top
five nationally and shutting out Ole Miss in the Governor s Cup last week. Our
women s basketball team had its best season ever, reaching the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.
The support of our alumni and friends is amazing. A few months ago our current

  • 2. Poverty in Latin America Poverty, or the inability to afford basic human needs, is an issue that is spread worldwide. There are people everywhere who cannot afford shelter, food, healthcare, or education. It seems easy enough to ignore the bum asking for change on the street, but it becomes near impossible in regions where whole families are begging on the street. This rings true in Latin Americaand it is extremely frustrating to see social inequality this extreme. This essay will examine how much povertyexists in Latin America, why the amount of poverty is so disproportionate and what can possibly be done to alleviate the amount of poverty in these countries. According to Lopez (2000), the poverty level in Latin America is far worse in ruralareas like Mexico and the Andean countries. Government agencies, organizations and intellectuals across the world have expressed unease about the extreme amounts of poverty in Latin America (Mamalakis, 1996). The exact level of poverty in Latin America can only be projected because of the high number of people living in rural areas. This problem is only exacerbated by the number of countries in the Latin America region. Lopez (2000) projects that over sixty percent of citizens beneath the poverty level live in rural areas across Latin America. Those rural areas are more susceptible to poverty because there is less access to jobs and resources. Whole families, including children, are impoverished because they are forced to live off of the

Likewise, Well s Martians haven t cared a straw what English have been thinking and paced around London in their
  • 4. Female Supers Essay There is no secret that the demand for female #superheroes is on the rise. From #WonderWoman s success at the box office (We love you, #PattyJenkins!) to the upcoming #Batgirl, fans are coming out in force. Even before WonderWoman, #YoungJustice helped to launch female supers into a male dominated world. Young Justice evenly uses its male and female characters. Within the first season of the show, there are only two main female heroes. During Season 2, additional female characters were added. Let s take a good, long look at the female characters in Young Justice that kicked butt. The Mentors You can t have heroes without mentors. • 6. Shortcoming In My Writing Another shortcoming in my procedures for writing was not utilizing a person or program to proof read my papers. So it became, during a session of self deprecating humor with a friend I made mention of a hard fought after average grade that he remarked of using an Internet proofreading service. Of course, I loosely took it under advisement, however, I mostly scoffed it off I already spent too much time on the papers. But nonetheless, I looked into the service without success of finding the unicorn free proofreader that would change my writing. Furthermore, this experience and the lessons learned during the course will provide a stable platform as I move forward in my continued education and pursuit of a
  • 7. Examples Of Ethos In Jonathan Edwards Jonathan Edwards was a preacher who was invited to Enfield, Connecticut to speak to the churches congregation. The leaders of the church saw him as a profound speaker of God and wanted their congregation to get back in line and stop straying away from their roots of Puritanism. Francis Bacon as Shakespeare Francis Bacon as Shakespeare For almost four hundred years the question of who truly wrote the works attributed to William Shakespeare has been studied meticulously by many scholars and historians. There have been many well qualified contenders, including Sir Francis Bacon. Because of the incredible number of coincidences between Shakespeare and Bacon, it is obvious that Bacon wrote Shakespeare. Firstly, the actor William Shakespeare, who is the supposed author of Shakespeare s works, could not have written them. He had no formal education after thirteen, was from a small provincial town, was a professional actor, had two daughters who were illiterate, didn t mention any of his works in his will, and whose only surviving handwriting is six signatures on legal documents (Rubenstein 69). Shakespeare is considered one of the greatest authors in history, and without a formal education the intricacy of his work would be impossible. It should also be put in consideration that many of Shakespeare s works were not only published but edited after his death. From the publication of The Taming of the Shrew in 1594 to the publication of the First Folio in 1623, 4,936 new lines were added to the plays, a majority of which were added posthumously (sirbacon). This in itself is evidence enough to disprove Shakespeare entirely. Unlike William Shakespeare, Sir Francis Bacon was very well qualified to have written Shakespeare s works. Bacon was a highly educated Member of
  • 16. Causes Of Desertification Desertification is a dynamic process where viable soil becomes degraded land typically resulting from human activities such as deforestation, inappropriate agriculture, or simply due to due climatic variations like drought. Desertification occurs globally in a variety of regions, yet not all regions are alike, thus different forces that may be responsible for desertification. For example, in a region like Africa there are huge atmospheric cycles that occur near the equator that pushes dry air towards Africa. Other forms of desertification can be driven in this area by the extensive agriculturethat sustains Africa s growing population. It may also be the lack of advanced technology that has gave first world countries a competitive edge in assessing soils, increasing agricultural production, and lowering pollution levels. In another region such as China, the result of desertification in places around the country derive from toxic levels of pollution, human alteration of the land, and natural causes. Though China may have advanced technology, they still have problems figuring out ways to mitigate this problem due to their gigantic population size. Even the United Stateshas been through a drastic event that caused a huge economic impact and left thousands of landowners unable to farm and make revenue for many years. Although many of these regions have different factors contributing to desertification, many similar trends can be seen that ultimately point to desertification.

The Cosmological Argument, an argument of the posteriori category, meaning that it requires data based on past experiences, argues for the existence of God with this type of expression at its core. By attempting to prove how the universe must be influenced by an independent being that has godlike qualities, cosmological arguments suggest that it is rational to believe in an omnipotent being and its accountability of creating the universe. With this in mind, we can say that the third premise, which states that if something exists now, then something has always existed, is valid. After all, if something exists now, there must have been something to cause it or nothing would exist. According to the fourth premise of the Cosmological Argument, if something has always existed, then reality is either a series of dependent beings, or there is an independent being that has existed at all times. This premise, supported by PSRa, is based around the belief that there must be an infinite succession of dependent beings, or an always present independent being. In other words, the existence of a series of dependent beings would be caused by the series before it, which would have been caused by the series before it, which would have been caused by the series before it, and so on. The other possible explanation would be that there is an independent being that always existed and acted as starting point to this infinite pattern, as PSRa states that there must be an explanation to what would have caused the start of the whole series. After arguing for the two possible explanations for the existence of everything with the fourth premise, the fifth premise denies the possibility of an infinite chain

Or maybe boys in all denim, pinned to look tight jeans with an oversized denim jacket? It was a time for fashion and music to thrive. It was completely normal to be all about me in the 80 s. Raymond Carvers Cathedral was written in 1983, and the narrator is very self absorbed and insular. This coincides with the ambience of the time period, reflecting the majority of society. The narrator s wife has an old friend, who happens to be blind. His wife has just died, so he is going to stay with the narrator and his wife for a bit. The narrator is very passive aggressive towards him and even pulls childish pranks on him. Eventually the two are left alone and the narrator realizes how narrow minded he has been his entire life. Antoine s engulfed in controversy, essentially from the beginning. So while the American soldiers were away from home, they relied on the Vietnamese civilian women to satisfy this need. This urge of American soldiers to seek sexual interactions with the Vietnamese is demonstrated by a quote of a former Vietnamese prostitute. In an article that describes a vocational training center for young girls recovering in South Vietnam, a former prostitute says I used to earn 2,000 piasters [about $4.50] a night in Qui Nhon [...] with the Americans I could demand even more. When I leave here and join a hairdresser s it ll take me a week to earn the same. This former prostitute reveals the desperate urge of American soldiers to satisfy their sexual desires because they are willing to overpay for a prostitute s services. American masculinity is the reason that interaction between these two groups took place. The American service member had a desire for sexual interaction, and the Vietnamese civilian women were able to satisfy this desire. This is not a result of race, as this would imply that the Americans sought out Vietnamese because of their race. The reason Vietnamese women were chosen to satisfy the Americans desire was because of their ease of access. Vietnamese prostitutes were the easiest way for American soldiers to appease their sex drive, so they took advantage of this opportunity. Because

However, despite that fact, Joseph did institute the theology of polygamy, (that is, taking multiple wives.) It is believed that he was sealed to at least 3 dozen women. Smith claimed that it was an angel that told him to not only practice, but also institute polygamy in the church. This is probably the biggest criticism that people use against Joseph Smith. He was someone who claimed to care for nothing more that family, and yet, he took a nearly innumerable amount of wives during his lifetime. Despite being adored by so many, and creating a successful religion, he was despised by yet so many; he and his brother were killed by a mob attack in prison on June, 27 1844 in Carthage, Illinois. Joseph Smith is still remembered and respected by all Mormons as the founder of the church, but more importantly, as a prophet of
