outside. In a small group, we were asked to take as many pictures as we needed to

seem to get the message that women are there to modify men. Although, when a
man and woman form a relationship, I feel that both parties are changed. So, is the
speaker trying to say that a woman s leading role in life is to be with a man? Can
she have no real role of her own? The speaker of this poem also seems to be trying
to say that unless a woman is with a man, she is invisible. Line twelve of the poem
shows the sentences and nouns laying on the grass and in line thirteen we see that
the conjunctions even have a part of their own, but we are told that the adjective

luck for all your lives. The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao is a story about a
Dominican family, the Cabrals, who receive this curse and the text follows the
horrors they experience. The story is told from multiple points of view members of
the Cabral family and those close to them. In The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar
Wao, Junot Diaz uses Different points of view of characters to explore the thematic
concern of the magical element of the Fuku and how it effects each character. It is
important for Diaz to use these different points of view to show the power and

formed through respect and honor. Homer s epic poems The Iliadand The Odysseyare
emerged from a patriarchal society, where fathers held the dominant role in a family.

Iliad goes beyond tales of the Trojan war, it portrays the relationship between fathers

In the 18th century, sending handwritten letters was the main form of
communication. Whether it was to a loved one, relative, or a friend, handwritten
letters was the form it was communicated. In the novel, The Coquette by Hannah
Webster Foster, Eliza was constantly communicating to her friend Lucy through
handwritten letters. However, today with all the technology we have, do you believe
millennials would be able to survive with the form of communication that they used
in the 18th century? I don t believe millennials would be able to survive at all

When reminiscing on my past I m able to recall the certain moments, which have led

The Great Wave by Christopher Benfey shows a glimpse of Old Japan and its

Miles Davis solo is very minimalistic mainly using crotchet and quaver rhythms
throughout with the occasional triplet or semiquaver grace note. For the A sections
of the first chorus he bases phrases around the minor pentatonic scale. He develops
his opening motif (bar 2 of A1) in bar 4 7 returning to the root (E) in between each
ascending then descending phrase going up to the 7th (D) in the final variation of

anything to a people facing such terrible affliction. Even though Father Paneloux
believed what he was preaching, I believe he was completely wrong. This would
make what I would say much different from what Father Paneloux said. However,

Even though God may be allowing it to happen, He is not the one causing the
affliction. Once again, God will not cause suffering until the time of tribulation.
Proof of this can be found in the book of Job where God calls Satan and has him
afflict Job with nearly every affliction possible. Clearly, just like his first sermon,
Father Paneloux s second sermon displays his terrible understanding of the nature
and actions of God and causes even more people to turn away from God.
If I were to talk to the people of Oran, I would first try to make clear why many of
Father Paneloux s ideas are incorrect without being mean to him. I would definitely
detail how this affliction is not a result of God s wrath and tell the people why this
kind of thinking is completely wrong. I would do this by ensuring the people that
God does not cause suffering in this current age and that he even wants to help
everyone through the affliction they are currently experiencing. It would be very
difficult to drive out the false doctrine that Father Paneloux has taught to the people
of Oran, but that would have to be my first priority. Otherwise, the rest of my
sermon about God s love would not make any sense to a crowd that still believes
God is responsible for the suffering currently present in Oran.
My other priority if I were to give a sermon to the people of Oran would be to focus
on God s love in the midst of all

ABSTRACT
The research work is on determination of optimum dosage of soda ash or lime in
treating underground water in Makurdi metropolis. In the course of carrying out
the work, samples of borehole and well water from five different locations of the
study area (Makurdi) were obtained and analyzed in Benue State water works. The
sample were analyzed to ascertain the level of hardness in samples and to
determine the optimum values of soda ash (Na2CO3) and lime (Ca(OH)2) that will
be used in reducing hardness and treating the sample in the study area. The locations
were, North Bank, Wurukum, Wadata, High Level and Kanshio. The hardness level
in the study area was found to range from 200mg/L to 80mg/L averagely; this was
found to lay outside the WHO (1993) drinking water standards of 75mg/L to 100mg
/L. On analysis, the hardness was found to range from 76mg/L to 100mg/L

The Indus River Valley, located in present day Pakistan was a full fledged civilization
that emerged in 3300 B.C.E. The Harappan Civilization, stretching from present day
Afghanistan to Pakistan contained vast amounts of small communities. The society
was very technologically advanced and somewhat modeled the fundamentals of the
society we live in today. The Harappan society was one of the earliest to have a
system of writing; however historians have still not interpreted them today.
Nevertheless, the society left us numerous archaeological and architectural ruins that
provide much information. Harappa, an Indus RiverValley that left us no written
records, but only some remains helped us understand the society s urban planning,
trade, lifestyle and mortality rate.
From the remains that were left by the Harappan society; today archaeologists can
understand the civilization s urban planning. In the last few years, archaeologists
discovered major structures that belonged to the time period of 2600 B.C.E. These
structures were made from baked bricks. These structures gave us clues about the
material that was used from the planning of the city. From such remains,
archaeologists were able to learn that house sand streets were laid out in a certain
pattern, which was from North to South and East to West. There were multistoried
