binge drinking remains unsolved with learning institutions having to deal with it every semester. In
response to this, 134 college presidents formed the Amethyst Initiative, which is, a proposal
allowing persons aged between 18 and 20 to consume alcoholic drinks Conversely, the Mothers
against Drunk Driving (MADD), which pushed for the enactment of the law in 1984 believes that
the Amethyst Initiative is misplaced. The push for a lower drinking age is a battle between the
parental community and the student fraternity. For the drinking age too be lowered the Amethyst
Initiative must compile concrete research and facts to support its findings. Nonetheless, historical
data shows that increase in the minimum legal drinking age results in a decrease in the amount of

The original experiment was a failure, as the method of measuring duckweed by surface area was
inefficient and inaccurate. The minimum amount of salt (2.5ml) added to the samples, turned out
to be enough to kill all the duckweed, allowing no comparison to be made of the growth rate. In
the second attempt I will count out a smaller, but exact, number of duckweed fronds which will
make counting growth easier and more accurate. I will also use smaller amounts of salt (0.5 1.5 ml)

Most times throughout the first few sections of the novel I felt bad for him, but than again he is
a liar, cheats, and steals to make it down the river. In the text it says, What did you say your

Traditionally, social hierarchies are how individuals are arranged based on how they act and
look. These social hierarchies are found in many species, but are the most complex in humans.
Social hierarchies are especially present in John Steinbeck s book, Of Mice and Men, which is
about two farmers trying to find work in the great depression. Throughout the book, Steinbeck
challenges these traditional social hierarchies. While some people can be higher up in the social
hierarchy because of how they were born, this does not mean that they are better people, and
challenges conventional social hierarchies by showing that they can shift. Very quickly into the
book, there is a very clear binary between the first two characters, Lennie and George. Steinbeck
describes George as small and quick, dark of face, with restless eyes and sharp, strong features
(2). The other character, Lennie, Steinbeck describes as the complete opposite: a huge man,
shapeless of face, with large, pale eyes, with wide, sloping shoulders; and he walked heavily,
