Personal Development Plan Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of a "Personal Development Plan" can be both a challenging and
rewarding task. The difficulty lies not only in the need for self-reflection but also in structuring
your thoughts coherently to present a well-organized and insightful piece.
Firstly, delving into personal experiences and identifying areas for improvement requires a level
of introspection that can be uncomfortable for some. It demands honesty and self-awareness,
which might be challenging as individuals may need to confront their weaknesses and
acknowledge areas where growth is necessary.
Additionally, articulating these thoughts effectively within the essay requires a strong grasp of
language and the ability to communicate ideas clearly. Balancing humility and confidence while
discussing personal development goals and achievements is crucial to strike the right tone in the
essay.
The task is not only about highlighting weaknesses but also about formulating realistic and
actionable plans for improvement. This requires a deep understanding of oneself, as well as the
ability to set achievable goals and outline the steps needed to reach them.
Furthermore, creating a compelling narrative that engages the reader and conveys the significance
of your personal development journey adds another layer of complexity. Striking a balance
between being informative and captivating is essential to make the essay stand out.
In conclusion, the process of writing a "Personal Development Plan" essay involves navigating
through introspection, effective communication, and the art of storytelling. While challenging,
the rewards lie in the potential for personal growth and the opportunity to share a meaningful
narrative.

Persuasive Essay On Shunning
There comes a time in your life where you feel like people want to avoid you or
you feel alone in a crowded room. We go through it with family, close friends and
even strangers. Often times, these feelings are a result of someone shunning you.
In reality, not everyone will agree with your life decisions. People will oppose you
if you re gay, a Christian, or even black just because they don t like it. Shunning is
very common in our society today. The sad part is, is that it s not paid much
attention. One of the biggest groups of people that undergo shunning on a day to
day basis is the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, better known as
LGBT. They are a prime example of what people in our society today see to be
inhumane or not right . Not only is the LGBT community shunned, but also those
with an undesirable race like African Americans and Arab people, interracial couples,
and even couples with a great age difference. On that note, a very unexpected event
happened at Destrehan High School in Louisiana. Two female teachers, Shelly...

How Did Alcatraz Sucessful Escape
Alcatraz the prison they say no one can escape from, Whether or not anyone
suceeded in escaping from Alcatraz depends on the definition of sucessful escape . Is
it getting out of the cellhouse, reaching the water, making it to land or reaching land

day there are five prisoners listed as missing and presumed drowned.
Over the 29 years that the Federal Prison operated 36 men were involved in 14
seperate escape attempts. Twenty Three were caught , six were shot and two

All the men tried but failed.
If there was ever an inmate who was destined to escape it was Frank Lee Morris. He
was convicted of his first crime at the age of 13. By the time he reached his later

possesion to armed robbery , and he had become a professional inhubiant of the

Morris earned his ticket to Alcatraz by building an impressive resume of escape. In

Americans Are Now Living In a Society That Rivals Orwell
s...
Today it is possible for the government to monitor anything and everything we do
or say, and even to track the places we go. In George Orwell s 1984, Winston Smith
lives in the dystopian society called Oceana. This book was written by George
Orwell, and thus gave way to the term an Orwellian society (a society that can be
compared to the societies of both 1984 and Animal Farm ). This society is usually
the result of an attempt to become a utopia which ultimately has gone terribly wrong.
With the advancement of modern technology, America is being turned into an
Orwellian society. While the technology we have is more advanced than what was
seen in 1984, it can be reasoned that the services and devices, not present in 1984,

It has been discovered that the major cellular provider Verizon, has made a contract
with the NSA stating that at the end of each day the company Verizon must give
all cellular records collected that day to the NSA. This transaction however is not
expressed to the customers of Verizon. This is a breach in trust between the
customers of Version and the company itself. The NSA program, uncovered by the
former CIA agent and former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, is called Prism.
Snowden, while working for the NSA disclosed this information by leaking this
classified information to a web site called The Guardian. The fact that the
information was classified means that the NSA had no intention of telling the
citizens of the USA about its ability to monitor and record this great amount of data.
This program while legally not able to record the conversation in the of a phone call
can detect and record the number who is making the call, the number being called,
the duration of the call, and, if necessary, the cellular tower used to send the call.
This is intruding upon a huge portion of what most people consider personal, private

Abandoned properties are very different. They come in all sizes and shapes. They are
diverse range of location. They may locate in urban, suburban and rural areas. Some
properties require to remove environmental contamination. In response, many
organizations such as the President s Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD),

the train yard was finally abandoned. Inside the station, some rusted railway engines

long term sustainability, we need an appropriate project to help revitalize this
Deafness In Adult Education
You many know a few famous individuals of the deaf and hard of hearing
community such as Helen Keller, who lost her sight and hearing at 19 months who
grew up to be a famous author and advocate, the famous German composer Ludwig
van Beethoven, and even our very own former Seahawks fullback, Derrick
Coleman. Have you ever thought how an individual that is deaf and hard of hearing
is impacted in the school environment? We will take a look at the terms of deaf and
hard of hearing, how it is acquired, the effects on learning with this disability,
educational services that fall under IDEA and WA state guidelines. We will discover
how teachers can create accommodations and modifications for success for these
students and ending it with resources that can help educators, families and children
that are affected with deafness. To understand this group of people we need to
understand the terms of deaf and hard of hearing. The definition of deafness under
IDEA (Individuals of Disabilities Act) is so severe that the child is impaired in
processing linguistic information through hearing, with or without amplification

My Opinion Volkswagen ( Vw ) Made A Very Wise Decision
By...
In my opinion Volkswagen (VW) made a very wise decision by choosing Deutsch
LA agency to market themselves. The agency focused on informing customers by
different advertising techniques such as direct marketing and digital/interactive
marketing. VW used direct marketing by sending brochures and promotional offers
or coupons to the targeted customers (Belch Belch, 2015, p. 21). There was also
use of various TV commercials to let the customers know about different VW
models and changing the view of the customers (Belch Belch, 2015, p. 68). Today,
people is engaged most of the time in social media or looking for certain
information in Google. Deutsch LA agency took advantage of it and made VW
reachable to the customers through Facebook and Twitter which allowed the
customers to follow them, get information regarding the vehicles and interact
directly with the company. Besides, the YouTube video too helped to increase the
followers in the social media largely which was a plus point for them (Belch Belch,
2015, p. 68). Advertising is very important for an automotive company such as VW
because customers needs to be informed time and again what products have been
launched and what offers are they getting. As, advertising is one of the best way to
attract customers and interact with them so the automotive companies should be
careful while investing their every penny. For example, we can learn a good lesson
from VW. There was a time when people didn t even knew what products
External Environment Affecting The Mcs At Wal Mart
.1) External Environment Affecting the MCS at Wal Mart External environmental
changes greatly determine the nature of business today. In response, the MCS
design in an organisation is expected to consider various external factors, or
business risks of an external nature, in order to be more adaptive to the current
business environment. These external factors may lead to consequences on the
company s capability to achieve its targets (Bosa Italinana S.p.A. 2003). For this
point, the MCS practices within Wal Mart are intimately aligned with its external
environment, in terms of political, economic, socio cultural and technological
contexts. 2.1.1) Rise in legal issues In the legal world, the 21st century is regarded
as the era of litigation over the super retailer Wal Mart (Brunn 2007). In the America
public record, searching for Wal Mart as a party in a lawsuit produced 3,034 reported
cases, and a great amount of these lawsuits are related to its relationship with
employees. The range of employment based cases includes race and gender
discrimination, unjust termination, compensation and minimum wages. Although as
the largest corporate retailer in America, Wal Mart s size, strength and long term
interest provide it more opportunities to influence the legal system and nudge the law
in a direction favourable to it (Brunn 2007), these legal issues put Wal Mart in a
trouble situation and stimulate it to change its MCS from a paternalistic attitude and
company culture approach
Search Seizure
Search amp; Seizure A police officer is dispatched to a call in his jurisdiction for a
noise complaint. The police officer arrives hearing very loud music coming from
the residence which violates a noise ordinance. The police officer knocks on the
front door with no answer so he proceeds to the back door to knock when he
observes what appears to be marijuana plants based on his training and experience.
The police officer can seize the marijuana plants based on the Plain View Doctrine.
In Harris v. United States (1968), the Supreme Court ruled that anything a police
officer sees in plain view, when the officer has a right to be where he or she is, is not
the product of a search and is therefore admissible as evidence. [1] The... Show more

In an extension of the plain view doctrine, officers are also allowed to do a
protective sweep when they make an arrest on or outside private premises. They
may, despite the absence of a search warrant, examine the entire premises for other
persons whose presence would pose a threat either to their safety or to evidence
that could be removed or destroyed. [5] The police officer has the right to seize
anything in plain view while conducting the sweep. The police officer would need
to lock down the house after the sweep and apply for the search warrant. If the
police officer precedes to search the resident s house without obtaining a search
warrant the evidence obtained can be deemed illegal under the Fruit of the
Poisonous Tree Doctrine. Under this rule, Fruit of the Poisonous Tree Doctrine,
evidence that has been seized illegally is considered tainted and cannot be used
against a suspect. [6] The Exclusionary Rule could also be used as cited in the
Mapp v. Ohio case. Anything obtained illegally could be deemed tainted or
inadmissible in court. It is imperative that the police officers follow all procedures
faithfully and as per the tenets that the courts have set up. Any mistakes can, and
regularly do, permit a liable party to go free on a technicality.
Critical Analysis Of Agunpakhi
Agunpakhi, published in April 2008 is the first full fledged novel written by Hassan
Ajizul Haque. He was born in1939 in West Bengal and just after the completion of
his school studies, his family had to leave India for East Bengal to avoid any
insidious after effect of the partition. Atin Bandyapadhaya and Sunanda Sikdar both
left East Bengalfor West Bengalbut Ajizul Haque was one, who left West Bengal for
East Bengal. Ordinarily, the critics tend to take it as altogether a feminist novel, but
an in depth study may bring out the truth that it is a tale of metamorphosis or a total
transformation of a humanself into a metaphorical phoenix, born out of the fire of
riot. It s a tale of a woman, who struggles within and ultimately is purified. She
becomes bold and decisive to denounce the so called geographical concepts of
boundaries which break the human hearts and yield unimaginable destitution and
suffering. It raises some basic questions of humanism and shows ways to bimukti
(liberation) of the human soul from all conflicts and ignorance. Agunpakhi is no
simple woman, but a part of a greater human civilization where each individual is
given importance according to his or her own choice. Accordingly, there are no
direct actions of violence shown in the text because violence, as its own, has no
power at all. The Indian concept of humanism believes in non violence which is the

The colloquial Bangla, ordinarily used by the Muslim communities in West Bengal,
is used as the language of the novel. There is very little intervention of the author of
the novel. Agunpakhi is the narrator of the text. Apparently it is a partition story, but
some issues of humanism are the main focus of the novel. There is no complexity in
the narration because the narration bears the smooth and spontaneous flow of a heart

As Mankind continues to advance it is pursuit of knowledge, it is faced with myriad
dilemmas, particularly in the cases of cloning, stem cell experimentation, and the
genetic sequencing of viruses and pathogens. The academic article Bioterrorism,
Embryonic Stem Cells, and Frankenstein written by Patrick Guinan, discusses the
morality and potential hubris of sciences continued exploration of seemingly
forbidden areas, as well as humanities identity and potential desire to achieve
knowledge to rival God. Guinan s research aims to explore, question, and ultimately
bring light to the potential issues that may arise from such pursuits. This research
raises several questions, as well as causes of concern, which will all be addressed in
this essay. The author of this article makes use of intelligent analysis, evidence from
ages both recent and ancient, and well thought out discourse, in order to cause readers
to consider just what ethics and morality is to science, as well as what it is to our
identity as humanity as a whole. It is important to understand the references to
history that the author uses, in order to properly read and understand this articles
intentions. First the author references the anthraxattack carried out by terrorists in
2001. These attacks consisted of letters with anthrax spores inside of them, which
were then mailed different news offices and the offices of two U.S. Senators. The
attacks killed five people and infected nearly 20 others. Guinan s
Diagnosis Asthma
Asthma is a chronic airway disorder marked by inflammation. The inflammation
affects multiple structures involved in the respiratory system of the body. These
structures include the trachea, the bronchi, and the bronchioles. Bronchoconstriction
is the main response that occurs during an asthma attack. The bronchoconstriction can
be attributed to many different factors including edema, an excessive amount of
mucus, muscle damage and bronchospasms. Bronchospasms are ... sharp contractions
of bronchial smooth muscle (Lynn Kushto Reese, 2015). The muscle damage can
lead to severe airway impairment and a perforated epithelium which then allows easy
entry of the allergens and triggers.

If triggers can be identified and eliminated or exposure can be reduced, the child s
symptoms will arise less often and their overall quality of life will improve. Another
huge teaching point for parents and patients is recognizing the signs and symptoms
of an asthma attack. There are specific signs and symptoms associated with asthma, if
patients and family can recognize and effectively respond to these, there is a better
chance of controlling the asthma and reducing the risk for complications. A third
priority patient education topic is how to use spirometers and inhalers. Asthma
requires devices to measure the airflow and the medications must be properly

That s a tall order. But my experience leading businesses in Africa, India, and other
emerging economies shows that it can be done. In this article, I will show how to

Overall, living conditions in Chile have improved tremendously over recent years.
However, it is still working to improve the living standards of its people. According
to the OECD Better Life Index, Chile performs well in only a few measures of well

Chileans love for sports is centuries old and can be traced to a traditional game

his curfew is 10:30 pm. His friends want to go get food after the movies so they

talked, ate some food and then left. When Jimmy was pulling into his driveway he

going to kill him for being this late. When walking into the door he closes it back
quietly and starts to walk up the stairs but then the kitchen lights turn on. Jimmy

that he is about to get yelled at he forms a story in his head. As soon as his father

on my way back there was a horrible accident. It happened right in front of me. Both
cars were totaled there was nothing left of them really. No one was badly injured
but we had to wait for them to get out of the car to start the flow of traffic. I was

The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock
T. S. Eliot uses irony and symbolism to capture the reader s attention in The Love
Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. The poem has a dramatic discourse. The percipience of
life s emptiness is the main theme of the poem. Eliot exhorts the spiritual
decomposition by exploring a type of life in death. T. S. Eliot, who in the Clark
Lectures notes, Real Ironyis an expression of suffering (Lobb, 53), uses irony and
symbolism throughout the poem to exemplify the suffering of J. Alfred Prufrock
who believes he is filled with spiritual morbidity and lack of feeling. Eliot utilizes
various ironic interjections from other poets, and he uses ironic satirical rhyming
phrases that fashion a sort of inane contradiction. Eliot uses many symbols to show...

211). These protuberate his own complicated perspective of inadequacy and
weakness, as well as the spiritual desensitization and idiopathy into the environment
of the dark city landscape with the simile that signifies the living death of Prufrock s
existence (Hargrove, 211).
Another way that T. S. Eliot shows personal and social rejection is by the use of
insignificant objects and body parts. I have measured my life out in coffee spoons
(51), signifies the tediousness of his life mongermane reveries, as well as, his lack
of achievement (Contemporary Literary Criticism, Vol 55 351). Prufrock is fearful
he is becoming old, bitter and devoid of happiness. Eliot uses subordinate objects
such as coffee spoons and cigarette butts to suggest the triviality of his existence
(Contemporary Literary Criticism, Vol. 55, 350). The repetition of the word time
suggests that Prufrock is bored due to an overabundance on his hands (Bloom, 18).
Consequently he dons a necktie and clothing that appear to constrain him as he
grooms to attend this tea party in hopes of one day asking the question. J. Alfred
Prufrock is an extremely ill at ease man who worries that the women will not
determine him desirable with his spindly arms and balding head (Contemporary
Literary Criticism, Vol 3, 136). His heightened ability of introspection and aggregate
of anguish is the very attribute that effectuates his dissimilarity from his peers. His

Cardinal Richelieu Response To Poor Dbq Essay
Life in Europe during the 1500 s and 1600 s was full of reformation, wars of
religion, and exploration of new places and ideas. The poor were greatly affected
during this time. They were part of the church reformation when Martin Luther
separated from Catholic Christendom and created his own church. In religious wars,
like the Thirty Years War, the poor were usually the people fighting which had a
tremendous impact on their lives and families. With the growth of exploration, the
poor moved around which affected their community. The attitudes and responses
towards the poor in Europe between 1450 and 1700 included that they were
undeserving and lazy; they needed help, should be put to work, and should be given
help.

When Cardinal Richelieu was serving as a royal councilor he said that the poor who
able to work should be employed on public works (Doc. 2). Essentially, he is
saying that the poor that are able bodied should work in the community. The poor
shouldn t just be left sitting on the streets begging, they should be working to earn
their nourishment, if they are permitted to do so. A town council in Rouen, France
has very similar ideas to that of Richelieu. They say that beggars unwilling to work
should be kicked out, but those who can t find a job should be put to work in the
city (Doc. 4). Furthermore, they are conveying the fact that the poor should be
working in order to create a better thriving community. There are plenty of
opportunities for work in the city, so those unwilling to work should be exiled. In a
painting by Rembrandt van Rijn, it shows a family with all their belongings
collecting money from a man in his house (Doc. 5). His painting is showing how

Unfair Electoral System In Canada
Canadian Problem 1: Unfair Electoral System
The main reason why this system is unfair is because each riding is won by the
candidate who receives the most votes, even if that candidate receives less than half
of the constituency. Therefore, it is possible for a political party to win a majority of
seats in the House of Commons. A disadvantage of FPTP votingis that a small
increase in the number of votes a party s candidate receives results in a larger
increase in the number of seats that party s candidate wins. For example, in the 2011
federal election the Conservative Party received 39.62% of the total votes but won
54% of the seats, while the NDP captured 30.63% of the total votes, but received
only 33.12% seats. Smaller parties are affected ... Show more content on

This means that the Canadian Senate would have to be elected by the citizens, the
senate would need to be equal and effective in their terms. The implementation of a
senate which is elected rather than appointed would ensure that representatives are
more responsive to the public. It would also give the Senate the authority to
exercise the powers given to it by the Canadian constitution. Any political
institution can obtain formal and legal powers, but if the public does not want
them to use it, then these powers may not be exercised. Currently, the senate has
104 seats, which are divided into 4 divisions. Ontario, Quebec, the Maritimes and
the Western provinces each share 24 seats. Newfoundland has 6 seats, Yukon and
Northwest Territories each have 1. Under the triple E senate, there would be 6
representatives from each and every province. This would create a new 62 member
senate which would be elected at the same time as Members of Parliament. The
principle of equality means that every province would be equally represented in the
Senate regardless of its population. The idea of equal representation arises when
provinces like Ontario are compared smaller provinces such as Alberta. Since Ontario
s population is much bigger, it could automatically become the majority in the House
of Commons. Other provinces cannot have the same powers as Ontario. With equal

Situtational Judgement Tests
Introduction Situational judgment tests (SJTs) is one of the common methods
which always be used in personnel selection recently. Specifically, situational
judgment tests (SJTs) typically consist of scenarios of hypothetical work
situations in which a problem has arisen. Accompanying each scenario are
multiple possible ways to respond to the hypothetical situation. The test taker is
then asked to judge the possible courses of action (L. A. L. de Meijer et al., 2010,
p.229). In terms of the development of SJTs, the scenarios and situations are always
gathered by the subject matter experts from specific job related critical incidents;
and then subject matter experts would gather information in order to create the
possible responses; finally, subject matter experts would develop the scoring keys
for the SJTs (Crook et al., 2011). SJT items may be presented in different formats,
such as paper pencil based, verbal, video based, or computer based formats (e.g.,
Clevenger, Pereira, Wiechmann, Schmitt, Schmidt Harvey, 2001; Motowidlo et al.,
1990), and participants of the SJTs are usually required to choose the most
appropriate option among the several options for each situation or scenario
(Christian, Edwards, Bradley, 2010). The most common formats are paper pencil
based and video based SJTs. We first have the paper pencil based SJTs, and then,
Thorndike (1949) mentioned the video based SJTs would be closer to real life
situations than the paper pencil based formation of

Thus, components like a mast or bridge girder can be analysed more

Advancement of such basic transmission line cable models is the concentration of
the present work. a simple but efficient model discussed for describing motion of a
vibrating cable utilized in a transmission line [20]. The model has been created for
a transmission line cable with each of the end at a similar height, and by
neglecting inertia in the longitudinal direction. Since the displacement of the every
end have been restricted, the model can t be connected for analysis of cable
supported structures. A simple transmission line cable model was basically
created in the present work, which can be used efficiently to determine a different
kind of types of cable structures like suspension bridges , guyed towers , , cable

was defined with the assistance of only nine degrees of freedom , viz . Three
translations at each one end and also three general co ordinates for demonstrating
motion of an middle level on a cable . Due to the fact that the movements of the end

formulation was shown by checking} the free and forced responses of transmission

Forunately the answer is YES. Though they are hardly few in number and have
hardly any or no presence in Indian political system but their emergence is a good
sign for Indian democracy and people. Parties like Bharat Punarnirman Dal (BPD)
formed Shobit Gupta or Lok Paritran formed by Tanmay Rajpurohit or The Youth
for Equality (YFE) a political party formed by medical, engineering and law
students. The biggest differences that one can notice between these 2 types of
smaller parties is in the area of members of party and their agenda. The newly
formed parties are formed by educated guys (dont interpret education as having
some degree) who have intentions of working towards the development of Indian
community as a whole as compared to the regional parties like RJD, SP etc who
have huge list of chargesheeted people and try to select people on the basis of
their power (may it be goon power) and money. The biggest apathy is that after so
many years of independence, we are not progressing as a nation. Rather parties like

What Are The Role Of Women During The Elizabethan Era
Introduction
The Elizabethan Era is said to have been one of the most interesting periods in the
History of England. The Era being named after Queen Elizabeth the I, also called the
Virgin Queen is not only famous for its monarchy and explorers but it was also the
era of the appearance of the very first theatres in England ( Alchin,1). The Elizabethan
theatre was a booming business for England, and the people loved it. However,
there was one thing that the theatre was missing, women. Queen Elizabeth the I saw
to the prohibition of female actresses on stage. Being an actress was not considered
a reliable profession and it was immoral, therefore young boys played the roles of
women ( Alchin, 1). Court Masques were a special form of entertainment ... Show

It was very clear back then what expectations were desired of men and women.
Men role in society was going of to work to provide for their families, whilst the
role of women in society was to learn to keep quiet and to maintain a good
household. By law there were certain jobs that women were prohibited to work in,
some of these include medicine, law and politics. It would all depend on one s
social class what sort of an education one would receive. Elizabethan women from
wealthy and noble families would sometimes be privileged by having a minor
education, whilst the lower class Elizabethan women would receive none of any
kind, instead they were taught household duties (Sharnette, 2). In Elizabethan
history, women who were not married were considered threats to society as they
were seen upon as witches. There are many cases of women being persecuted and
hunted as witches then burnt to the stake for their presumed crimes. Women in
that era were taught to know their place as inferior to men. By law and with
acceptance from the parents girls from the age of only 12 were allowed to get
married (Lin, 1). The church that played a massive role in society and everyday
life expressed that; Women in her greatest perfection was made to serve and obey
men (John Knox). In Elizabethan society men were completely dominant over
women and there was no say in the matter. Family fortunes would be passed on
from male hair to the next male hair even if the women were older and seemed
entitled to it. The only exception of this rule was the monarchy (Sharnette,2).
Therefore there was no chance in thinking that women could freely decide to take
up a career on stage as a talented actress, women were put in their place and were
made to stay
A Summary Of Wilsonian Internationalism
Wilsonian Internationalism, also known as Liberal Internationalism, is a foreign
policy ideology that advocates for open communication between nations and solving
international disputes using a strong faith in the rule of law...and in the ability of
dynamic democratic capitalism to spread prosperity to all (Lecture A, Week 3). This
ideology encouraged and reinforced a bond between countries to promote peace,
while still furthering economic success.
Woodrow Wilsonwas a strong proponent of justice and open understandings
between countries, and the term Wilsonian Internationalism was coined after this
political and economic theory. In a speech to Congress in 1917 called War
Message , Wilson showcases his ideology after events in WWI forced him to
acknowledge the ever narrowing gap that was America s likelihood of staying out
of the war. In War Message , Wilson emphasizes that Germany endangers peace and
understanding of the international law which [should] be respected and observed
upon the seas, where no nation had right of dominion and where lay the free
highways of the world (War Message, pp. 44). He argues that when Germany sank
ships that had no bearing to the war in the least, and breaking international law, they
were crafting a political world where democracy was not the foremost priority.
Wilson used this stance on Germany to propose entering the war on the grounds that
threats to democracy to some, was a threat to democracy of all, stating, the world

Ethos In Sarah Mclachlan s In The Arms Of An Angel
Sarah McLachlan has approximately 30 million views on youtube alone of the
music video In the Arms of an Angel. Many know this as a commercial. Overall, it
supports animal rights and asks for donations for the animal rights program that was

Although she is backed by producers, sponsors and managers, she holds this close

Pawn The King
The Pawn or the King?
A contradictory pair exists in the psyche of humanity. We somehow believe that we
are both the metaphorical center of the universe and involved in some greater plan
over which we have no control or no significant effect. The 1951 movie The Day
the Earth Stood Still, directed by Robert Wise, shows both of these ideas: the
existence of a higher power in the form of a more intelligent alien race and the self
importance placed upon a people by themselves specifically a nation. The dichotomy
between humanity s egoism and its desire to shun responsibility prevents us from
fully accepting one or the other. Egoism is not a uniquely human characteristic.
However, it is something humanity takes to the next level. Primates and other
hierarchal animals express the innate nature that is self interest. For male lions, this
self interest is the only thing that keeps them alive. Contrary to popular belief, it is
the female lion the lioness that forms the foundation of the pride. The lioness does
the hunting, the nurturing, and the defending of the pride. Male lions have slim
chances of survival on their own, and unlike the lioness, genetic (or familial) ties
do not keep it in the pride. When ousted, they must fight for, scavenge or even steal
food. The final goal of the male lion is to become part of a pride, as their escort,
performing duties but also securing food for itself. A male lion will fight males in
the pride for their positions of security. Its individual
Germination of Cress Seeds
Background point 1:
There are several conditions that affect the germination of seeds. Most factors are
external but there are also some internal conditions that affect the germination of
seeds, even though this is quite rare. The most common and the most important
external conditions and factors that affect the germination of seeds are oxygen, water,
temperature and also in some cases light or darkness. Some plants require several
variables for successful seed germination. As this is quite rare, this often depends on
the individual seed and its natural habit.
Let s focus on the most important factors that affect germination of seeds.
Firstly we have oxygen which is required by the seed that is germinating for
metabolism. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Background point 2:
In the world, there are two basic sorts of seed and they have been named
monocotyledon respectively dicotyledon. Dicot seed contains of two parts which
have been named cotyledons. Their job is to supply the food for the growing of the
young plant. An excellent example of a dicot seed is the bean seed. Dicot seeds
consist of an outside cover, called seed coat, and also an embryo inside the bean. The
Greek word for two is dis , and that is where we get di from.
Seed which consists of only a single cotyledon are known as monocots. A corn seed
is a very good example of a monocot. The seed of a monocot stays in one piece and
does not split up. As the bean seed, the corn seed also has a seed coat, but this coat
doesn t get off as easily. There is as well a part of the seed called the endosperm
and this is the part where the monocot plants store their food. The Greek word for
one is monos , and that s where we get mono from.
Of course seeds consist of several components, but the three main and most significant
parts are the seed coat, the endosperm and the embryo.
The outer membrane of the seed is known as the seed coat and that is the part of
the seed that is visible. The coat of the seed is often hard and very difficult to break.
The outer membrane s function is to protect the sensitive parts that are inside the
seed from diseases and common damages. Even though all seeds have a seed coat,
there is

They will make enough money from just playing. And you don t really need a 4.0
GPA if you re going to play basketball. But many things can go wrong. In Bobby
Hurley s case, he was drafted in the first round, but a couple of weeks later he got
in a severe car crash that led him to having collapsed lungs, and fractured bones, a
torn tendon, and broken ribs (according to the Associated Press). And in Jay
Williams case he got in a motorcycle accident and according to a New York Times
profile, the bike crash left Williams with a total knee dislocation, torn ligaments, a
dislocated pelvis, a torn nerve, a severed artery, and more. Both these players had
bright futures but were stopped by injuries. They both played in the d league later,
which is an incredible success, but they only got about $40 a game, and they had to
go get average jobs. So if you re drafted, it s not an automatic income, you could be
laid off or released if you can t continue to play at the pro level.
The one and done rule may be better than allowing high schoolers to go into the nba

to play two years of college basketball (or more). It could benefit many people; the
draftees, and the franchises. It could allow athletes to grow, and improve in the game
of basketball. As well as allow the scouts to get better information on the players,
Criminal Justice Vs Non Western Essay
Do you ever wonder what others countries do different than the United States? How
they operate their criminal justice system? And/or why they do it that way? On this
paper, I ll be defining and comparing the western and non western countries. I will
show the difference and similarities of the criminal justice system from Canada and
Malaysia. By comparing their courts, law enforcement, corrections and restorative
justice system. Western vs. Non western
Have you ever heard the poem The Ballad of East and West it says: East is East and
West is West, and never the twain shall meet . Western countries and non western
countries are determined by a combination of factors such as its geological location,
cultural background, education and political system. Western world refers to North
and South America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand whereas the Eastern world
refers to nations in the Asia and Middle East. Western culturerefers to Europe and
North America. The religions that are practice by the westerns are Judaism,
Christianity, and Islamic. The population in western countries are more liberal than
those in the east, they are more open and blunt. For example, topics like sex or birth
of a child are openly discussed in western culture, whereas in the east, these topics
are still a taboo. People ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Abstract
Selling high end electronics is big business and being a commissioned employee
in that field if your sales are up means big money. Prices for electronics range from
the low hundreds into the thousands. It really depends on the person style,
specifications they are looking for, trust in the brand, and the depth of their pockets,
how much a person is willing to spend for example on a that high definition led
plasma television that is 52 inches. No matter the cost, businesses want to keep a
track of the sales of their employees and how much they are getting paid. In this case
a high end electronics store wants to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The coding that was used to find information on commissions paid to employees was:
SELECT Employee.*
FROM Employee, Invoice
WHERE (DepartmentID =2);
The asterisk next to employees indicates that all the information under the employee
table was used to generate the search. In this query information was pulled from the
employee and invoice tables. The WHERE function more specifically states the
department which can be changed and it would generate new information. The query
currently only shows employee commission information for employees who work in
department two (see attachment).
If the finance department wanted to find the total compensation paid to each
employee in the same month as the first query a slightly different query would be run
to generate that information. The first code simply pulled the information and did not
include and computation because the finance department only requested to be able to
determine as in pull up the record for employee s commission paid. The second code
will include computation which will divide the yearly salary by twelve months then
multiples the commission rate by the total amount of product sold and lastly add
those two numbers together to get the total compensation for that month.
Unfortunately the coding that I am using is not generating a proper result. However,
it should look something like this:
SELECT Employee.EmpNumber, Employee.EmpFirstName,
The Method Of Birth Control Essay
What is the best method of birth control (or contraception)? Is one better or more
preferred than another? Are there any side effects that I should be concerned about?
These are just a few of the many questions to ask when discussing various types of
birth control methods with your doctor. There are many methods of birth control,
beginning with abstinence which means having no sexual contact at all, which is
100% effective. The various methods differ greatly and have various rates of
effectiveness. Some methods will produce side effects in some patients. There is
really no best method of birth control for everyone, but each individual can
determine the best choice for themselves with the help of their doctor. Many factors
including age and general health come into play when choosing a birth control
method. Most birth control methods are used by women, although there are a few
options available to men. The decision of which type of birth control method to use
is one that should be made by the patient seeking a solution and his/her doctor, after
careful review of all factors, which include:
How often the patient has sex, the number of sex partners the patient has, if the
patient wants to have children someday, how well each method works to prevent
pregnancy, the patient s age, the patient s health, possible side effects, or the patient s
comfort level with using the method. Even the most effective birth control methods
can fail. But chances of getting pregnant are
Essay on The Power of Perspective
The Power of Perspective
All I needed was a bow tie. Everything else was packed, and I was ready for the
weekend, except that I needed a new bow tie. I assumed that some store on Boston s
posh Newbury St. would have one, and sure enough I found a store that sold tuxedos
and wedding dresses. Upon entering the store, I noticed soothing classical music
playing in the background as the few patrons meandered through the thoughtfully
arranged display room. The sole operator of the store was busy with a customer, so I
waited for some assistance. Being a scruffy college student, I apparently didn t
invoke any sense of urgency in the store clerk. After a few minutes, he asked me if I
needed any assistance in a tone that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I always try to imagine a situation from different perspectives. When observing
someone s actions, I try to understand the overall situation until I can say to myself
I see where they re coming from. In order to do that you need to have some
background information on that person. In most cases this involves making some
intuitive assumptions, but you must be careful, as wrong assumptions can make a
situation worse. With some background information and careful assumptions you
can try to put yourself in their shoes as the saying goes, and then judge people by
their actions. I m not saying this would be a functional design for a court of law, but
this is how I deal with small social problems.
For the most part I believe that this is an effective method for dealing with small
conflicts because usually I can understand a person s motives, and that is a step
towards finding a solution. With small conflicts it s usually a matter of conflicting
personalities. These problems tend to be harder to solve than similar problems
generated from conflicting interests, as people with conflicting personalities will do
things just in spite of the other person. Such actions tend to create a perpetual
problem.
I like my ability to see the other side of a situation, but only for small, insignificant
problems. When I look at larger social issues, a sense of hopeless pessimism spreads
through me.
Gender, Gender And Gender Equality
This essay will look at Gender discrimination in an Australian prospective with
some overseas perspectives overlapping this essay will look at gender deference s
in pay in Australia and discuss the ideas and arguments surrounding gender
equality in the work place. Gender equity in work place is still a heavily
understudied in Australia and as is more or less worldwide. In Australia a country
of so called equality which is still, even in the 21st century is an ambiguous and
questionable ideal as seen by the lack of changes since implementation to close the
gap. Moves towards equality have been great back in the 70s though after there has
been little change and a gap averaging up to 25% from then and now, which is a
cause for concern.
The workforce before 1970 has had a gap of pay between the genders that is that of a
significant amount. It was until the early 1970s the gender pay gap in Australia was
wide, and was kept that way by institutionalized gender wage discrimination , as
claimed by Paul Miller (1994, p.371). That was until the equal pay decisions for
women in 1969, 1972 and 1974 put an end to the discrimination and closed the gap
significantly (e.g., Gregory and Duncan, 1981; Borland, 1999), but of course the
gap remained. At the end of the 1990s it was looked at again from 1980s and 1990s
it was found that the pay gap ranged from about 8 percent to 25 percent (Borland,
1999, p. 267).
Borland in their studies observed that discrimination in general in an
Neoclassical Economics Of Migration Between Puerto Rico...
Neoclassical economics of migration focuses on individual decision to attain higher
wages by migrating to a new higher wage country. Migration between Puerto Rico
and the United States is an example of this theory. Analysis has been done that
illustrates when Puerto Rico s unemployment rates are high migration to the mainland
in the United Statesfor work is high. Although Puerto Rico is a common wealth of the
United States migration between the two represents significant movements across
linguistic, cultural and geographic boundaries. This theory explains migration very
well especially in this segment of the population because its not uncommon for a
Puerto Rican to migrate to the United States for better opportunities for work and later
Use Of Eloquent Dictation Is Far More Powerful Than
Actions
The use of eloquent dictation is far more powerful than actions. In both versions of
Medea, Medea produces meaningful speeches. The spoken word is emphasized in
both versions resulting in a great deal of thought behind each discussion. Usage of
cunning tactics is used in order to acquire the response she wants from her audience.
In fact, she is constantly changing the way she addresses her crowd in order to
persuade them into acting the way she wants them to. However, the Norton version,
adds more detail and thought behind all of her speeches. Meanwhile, Jeffers
adaptation focuses on conversation and the way that they affect the characters. In the
two versions of Medea, the authors put an emphasis on speechbecause Medeauses
different speeches in order to sway her audience into believing what she wants them
to in order to achieve her goal of manipulation.
While both versions care for speech more than actions, the Norton version puts a
bigger emphasis on it. When speaking, Medea is exceedingly deliberate in getting
the response she craves. Women of Corinth, I have stepped outside so you will not
condemn me. Many people act superior I m well aware of this. Some keep it
private; some are arrogant in public view (Page 751 Lines: 212 215). The act of
stepping out into the light is a form of acknowledging the women already view her
in an ill manner. She clearly concocts a scheme, in order for the women to not
perceive her as the guilty one. Moreover, Medea continues to
Analysis Of Ted Talks
The most important concept on Ted Talks, is when Erik Brynjolfsson is explaining
that the new machine age is digital, exponential, and combinatorial, and that we
have to race with the machines instead of racing against them. Digital goods can be
copied easily at a high quality. So people spend less money on buying music, tv
shows, and movies digitally, because they can attain all of these digital goods for
free. Even though copying and distributing digital goods is illegal, people can still
easily obtain a copy of their favorite album or movie, while the government is not
doing much about it. The less money people spend, the lower the GDP is. It s like
Robin Hood stealing a music album and then copying it for the less fortunate
people.The
Restorative Justice Theory
Restorative justice is a system of criminal justice that focuses on the rehabilitation of
offenders through reconciliation with victims and the community at large. This
criminal justice system that restores promotes accountability between parties
involved and builds the community through the provision of assistance and respects
to victims and anyone involved in the community because crimedisrupts lives.
In my community in Houston Texas, Bridges is a nonprofit corporation that
emphasizes restorative justice. Bridges as its name imply builds bridges between
offenders, victims and the society which are affected by crimes. The aims and
objectives are to rehabilitate and reconcile victims of crime, prison inmates and the
community by bringing healing, forgiveness and recidivism reduction among
offender graduates of the program. They have a fourteen week program in which
volunteers who are victims and offenders are brought together along with a facilitator.
The participants are taught in a classroom environment and given homework, they
keep journals and write letters through the guidance of a manual which serve as
syllabus and study guide and after graduation, becomes useful to the society. Their

of all races in the management of this organization and the program itself will
ensure trust since the majority of offenders are people of color. The Bridges have

Names In Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre
In Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre, the titular character goes on both a mental and
physical journey throughout the novel. Jane calls several different places home
throughout her life, and encounters different milestones and challenges that shape
her into a person at each one. The names given to these places and the people Jane
comes across in them are used to represent what will happen to her while she is
living there. Bronte s use of the meanings of names as symbols is called etymology.
For the duration of Jane s time moving between several different homes in England,
her life changes drastically, causing her to adapt to new situations and develop as a
person. It was no accident that the names of the people and places Jane encounters on
her journey mirror these situations. Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyreuses the names of
both characters and locations as symbols to represent Jane s experiences at each of
the places where she lives through her life.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Reeds take care of Jane because both of her parents died at a young age,
making her an orphan. While living here, Jane s extended family subjects her to
neglect, abuse, and hate. This caused Jane to feel as if she were alone at
Gateshead. Bronte s naming of the residence shows how Jane feels like she cannot
move beyond the gate separating her from the others living at Gateshead, stating I
was clearly a discord at Gateshead Hall; I was like nobody there; I had nothing in
harmony with Mrs. Reed or her children, or her chosen vassalage. (Bronte 17). Jane
saw that even Mrs. Reed s servants were accepted in the house, while she was not.
The use of gate also could represent how Jane s time at Gateshead Hall was only the
beginning of her struggles and development into an independent
Ethical Issues Of Eugenics
The Progressive Era was a time of scientific and economic advances in the United
States. The movement aimed to improve American society and perfect the American
population. The eugenics movement was part of the Progressives faith in science and
the potential of the state to control the population. In 1883 Francis Galton coined the
term eugenics: Eugenics is the science which deals with all influences that improve
the inborn qualities of a race . The American eugenics movement aimed to make the
population healthier and more sustainable. This goal was achieved through the
discouragement of procreation amongst those with less desired genes (negative
eugenics). Even though the term eugenics is well defined, the implementation of the
policies designed around it were left open to interpretation; thus causing various
moral and ethical issues. The most prominent ethical issues faced by this movement
were autonomy and protection. These issues were depicted by the case of Buck v
Bell and also resonate in modern day eugenics.... Show more content on

Arsenic Research Papers
Brianna Cross10/28/16 Chemistry Essay Arsenic Arsenic is one of the most toxic
elements that can be found on Earth. Arsenic has a symbol of As and an atomic
number of 33. It is a metalloid which gives it both metal and nonmetal
characteristics. Arsenic has many allotropes, but the gray form is important for
industry. The three main allotropes are metallic gray, black, and yellow. Gray
arsenic is brittle and has a low hardness (based on the Moh s hardness scale) yet a
high density. Yellow arsenic is soft and waxy. It is least dense and most toxic. It is
also transformed into gray arsenic by light. Black arsenic is brittle and glassy. It is a
poor electrical conductor as well. Inorganic and organic compounds of arsenic are
found in many places among the earth. Arsenic is discovered in the environment from
both nature and certain human activities. Arsenic is usually found in soils, sediments,
and groundwater. The process of mining, ore smelting, and industrial use of arsenic
can result in these inorganic compounds meeting the surface. Organic arsenic
compounds are found in fish, shellfish and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mineral forms of arsenic were known as early as the fourth century BC, but
Albertus Magnus, a German scholastic, is usually credited with the discovery of
the element around 1250. The first directions for the preparation of metallic

would use this element to kill others. The compound s lack of color, odor and taste
made the sinister hard to detect, as well as the distribution in nature which made it
available to all classes. The symptoms of Arsenic were similar to food poisoning and
other common disorders which also made it hard to figure out if it was a planned
death. These inorganic and organic compounds can be the reason for a harmful human
Should Young Offenders Be Tried As Adults Essay
Should young offenders be tried as adults? Statistics have been recently formed about
due to age that young offenders should really be tried as adults or is Rehabilitation
really the solution for these young criminals? When it comes to the young offenders
and punishment , rehabilitation over criminalization has been a shaky situation.so
most young offenders who cannot afford rehabilitation receive the only other
possible option: Jail time for their actions. Because the cost of Rehabilitation, not
everyone can receive the help they need and the young offenders still need to do the
time for the murder. Overall young offenders should be treated as adults for
committing these crimes .
A story. A murder. The motive, what motivates and makes a killer? The current
situation and background can help put us in the head of the murderer and give us
some kind of p.o.v. in the life of a murderer. But does gender also play into the
amount sentence to the young offender? How about what the offender looks like?
How bad was the crime against the victim? This also comes into play when they
receive their sentencing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Birds Eye View By Annie Dillard
Perspective: A Birds Eye View
Birds appear in many fields that require skills or talent. You can find artist drawing
them, scientists observing them, and poets writing about them. Sometimes these
things overlap and meet one another. John James Audubon not only studied birds for
a living, but also drew them for the sake of science. Annie Dillard illustrates a flock
of birds flowing overheard with her words, while Audubon takes a more technical
approach. Even though they experienced the same encounter, their backgrounds
forced them to take different perspectives while talking about birds.
Audubon sees a flock of birds overhead and instinctively takes notes on them,
counting each bird to further his data. Being a member of the ornithological
The Trading Networks Of The 17th And The 18th Centuries
The trading networks of the 17th and the 18th centuries, probably the reason America
is here and why we re Americans. That is because this trade was a new type of trade,
international trade or involving the whole world in one network, mass production,
diversity, and mixing of cultures. As a result of such trading networks the western
hemisphere was now being populated more heavily and the first colonies where
starting to form. Documents2, and 4 describes how Chinese greed for silver changed

This changed patterns of trade deficit where before it was on the Portuguese it was
now on China who were pouring out everything in exchange for only silver which
they didn t even reinvest in their economy. This source isn t that reliable mainly
because it was written by a British merchant who tried convincing Britain into
joining trade. Therefore it was a secondary document from the outside looking in
so all data may not be correct. Thus the global distribution of silver greatened the
connection between the west and the east eliminating old patterns of trade deficit.
In the documents 3, 1, 5, and 6 they discuss how when silver came into the picture
many payment and old money accounting methods changed. Document 3 talks
about how in China the economy began to fall due to cheaper grain harvest. The
reason that the harvest was cheaper is because the taxes where now forced to be
paid in silver which China dispersed very little silver into the economy. It is a
reliable document because elders of villages directly told Wang Xijue a court
official of China about the first hand suffering of its people. Document 1 states how
the introduction of silver to China created much greed and whoever has a lot can
never have enough but whoever has little has enough. That is because of the
suffering brought on by silver whoever had a little needed to worry
Essay about 19th Century Women
19th Century Women
Works Cited Missing
Women in the nineteenth century, for the most part, had to follow the common role
presented to them by society. This role can be summed up by what historians call
the cult of domesticity . The McGuffey Readers does a successful job at illustrating
the women s role in society. Women that took part in the overland trail as described
in Women s Diaries of the Westward Journey had to try to follow these roles while
facing many challenges that made it very difficult to do so.
One of the most common expectations for women then is that they are responsible
for doing the chore of cleaning whether it is cleaning the house, doing the laundry.
The McGuffey Readers mentions the women s duty to clean in ... Show more content

In addition, to show what the editor said in the McGuffey s there is a poem that is
from a child s point of view talking about his mother, Smooth the few silver threads
out of my hair; Over my slumbers your loving watch keep; Rock me to sleep,
mother, rock me to sleep! (Gorn 108). It is shown here how the mother is to watch
over her children and take care of them. Moreover, in the Women s Diaries it talks
about the hardship mothers had, Accounts shade and darken in the pages of women
whose energies were spent nursing and caring for infants and small children
(Schlissel 115). It says that their diaries turn in essence bleak because they are being
overwhelmed with so many duties and then on top of that having to care for the
children. Being on the trail made it very difficult for the women to perform these
duties as the author points out, The West to them meant the challenge of rearing a
family and maintaining domestic order against the disordered life on the frontier
(Schlissel 115). The women had to face to challenge and they did in a way that shows
that the men were not the only ones who had an immense amount of courage in this
great undertaking.
An integral part of the nineteenth century Victorian way of life was having strong
morals. The women were seen as pure beings and therefore it was there job to keep
the family unit moral. In The McGuffey s it tells of how the morals were taught to

Personal Development Plan Essay.pdf

  • 1. Personal Development Plan Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of a "Personal Development Plan" can be both a challenging and rewarding task. The difficulty lies not only in the need for self-reflection but also in structuring your thoughts coherently to present a well-organized and insightful piece. Firstly, delving into personal experiences and identifying areas for improvement requires a level of introspection that can be uncomfortable for some. It demands honesty and self-awareness, which might be challenging as individuals may need to confront their weaknesses and acknowledge areas where growth is necessary. Additionally, articulating these thoughts effectively within the essay requires a strong grasp of language and the ability to communicate ideas clearly. Balancing humility and confidence while discussing personal development goals and achievements is crucial to strike the right tone in the essay. The task is not only about highlighting weaknesses but also about formulating realistic and actionable plans for improvement. This requires a deep understanding of oneself, as well as the ability to set achievable goals and outline the steps needed to reach them. Furthermore, creating a compelling narrative that engages the reader and conveys the significance of your personal development journey adds another layer of complexity. Striking a balance between being informative and captivating is essential to make the essay stand out. In conclusion, the process of writing a "Personal Development Plan" essay involves navigating through introspection, effective communication, and the art of storytelling. While challenging, the rewards lie in the potential for personal growth and the opportunity to share a meaningful narrative. • 3. Persuasive Essay On Shunning There comes a time in your life where you feel like people want to avoid you or you feel alone in a crowded room. We go through it with family, close friends and even strangers. Often times, these feelings are a result of someone shunning you. In reality, not everyone will agree with your life decisions. People will oppose you if you re gay, a Christian, or even black just because they don t like it. Shunning is very common in our society today. The sad part is, is that it s not paid much attention. One of the biggest groups of people that undergo shunning on a day to day basis is the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, better known as LGBT. They are a prime example of what people in our society today see to be inhumane or not right . Not only is the LGBT community shunned, but also those with an undesirable race like African Americans and Arab people, interracial couples, and even couples with a great age difference. On that note, a very unexpected event happened at Destrehan High School in Louisiana. Two female teachers, Shelly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Much information has been kept under the radar but it can be inferred that Dufresne has been a big disappointment to her family. Dufresne being 32 with children and a husband of her own can cause many contemplations for them all. Shelley s actions are not only destroying her life, but the ones around her. Not to mention she is the daughter of, St, Charles Parish Judge, Emile St. Pierre. To be the county judge and to see your daughter in trial for having sexual relations with a 16 year old boy can be quite embarrassing on your part. On the other hand, Respess has more intact problems. She is facing the neglect of her family and friends while having her new career in jeopardy fall to

  • 5. Americans Are Now Living In a Society That Rivals Orwell s... Today it is possible for the government to monitor anything and everything we do or say, and even to track the places we go. In George Orwell s 1984, Winston Smith lives in the dystopian society called Oceana. This book was written by George Orwell, and thus gave way to the term an Orwellian society (a society that can be compared to the societies of both 1984 and Animal Farm ). This society is usually the result of an attempt to become a utopia which ultimately has gone terribly wrong. With the advancement of modern technology, America is being turned into an Orwellian society. While the technology we have is more advanced than what was seen in 1984, it can be reasoned that the services and devices, not present in 1984, would be heavily... It has been discovered that the major cellular provider Verizon, has made a contract with the NSA stating that at the end of each day the company Verizon must give all cellular records collected that day to the NSA. This transaction however is not expressed to the customers of Verizon. This is a breach in trust between the customers of Version and the company itself. The NSA program, uncovered by the former CIA agent and former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, is called Prism. Snowden, while working for the NSA disclosed this information by leaking this classified information to a web site called The Guardian. The fact that the information was classified means that the NSA had no intention of telling the citizens of the USA about its ability to monitor and record this great amount of data. This program while legally not able to record the conversation in the of a phone call can detect and record the number who is making the call, the number being called, the duration of the call, and, if necessary, the cellular tower used to send the call. In fact, human beings are using more resources than the capacity of the Earth. That means the way we use natural resources to produce energies and make goods people use is not sustainable. The Sustainability Glossary defines Sustainability is we take only from Nature at equal the rate or less than the rate Nature can restore itself or heal itself. However, we would not. Inside the station, some rusted railway engines line on tracks; on the ground, broken windows kicked out; inside the train wagons, seats and other stuffs are stained with mold; on the walls, they are covered with graffiti. • 8. My Opinion Volkswagen ( Vw ) Made A Very Wise Decision By... In my opinion Volkswagen (VW) made a very wise decision by choosing Deutsch LA agency to market themselves. The agency focused on informing customers by different advertising techniques such as direct marketing and digital/interactive marketing. VW used direct marketing by sending brochures and promotional offers or coupons to the targeted customers (Belch Belch, 2015, p. 21). There was also use of various TV commercials to let the customers know about different VW models and changing the view of the customers (Belch Belch, 2015, p. 68). Today, people is engaged most of the time in social media or looking for certain information in Google. Deutsch LA agency took advantage of it and made VW reachable to the customers through Facebook and Twitter which allowed the customers to follow them, get information regarding the vehicles and interact directly with the company. Besides, the YouTube video too helped to increase the followers in the social media largely which was a plus point for them (Belch Belch, 2015, p. 68). Advertising is very important for an automotive company such as VW because customers needs to be informed time and again what products have been launched and what offers are they getting. As, advertising is one of the best way to attract customers and interact with them so the automotive companies should be careful while investing their every penny. For example, we can learn a good lesson from VW. There was a time when people didn t even knew what products
  • 9. External Environment Affecting The Mcs At Wal Mart .1) External Environment Affecting the MCS at Wal Mart External environmental changes greatly determine the nature of business today. In response, the MCS design in an organisation is expected to consider various external factors, or business risks of an external nature, in order to be more adaptive to the current business environment. These external factors may lead to consequences on the company s capability to achieve its targets (Bosa Italinana S.p.A. 2003). For this point, the MCS practices within Wal Mart are intimately aligned with its external environment, in terms of political, economic, socio cultural and technological contexts. 2.1.1) Rise in legal issues In the legal world, the 21st century is regarded as the era of litigation over the super retailer Wal Mart (Brunn 2007). In the America public record, searching for Wal Mart as a party in a lawsuit produced 3,034 reported cases, and a great amount of these lawsuits are related to its relationship with employees. The range of employment based cases includes race and gender discrimination, unjust termination, compensation and minimum wages. Although as the largest corporate retailer in America, Wal Mart s size, strength and long term interest provide it more opportunities to influence the legal system and nudge the law in a direction favourable to it (Brunn 2007), these legal issues put Wal Mart in a trouble situation and stimulate it to change its MCS from a paternalistic attitude and company culture approach
  • 10. Search Seizure Search amp; Seizure A police officer is dispatched to a call in his jurisdiction for a noise complaint. The police officer arrives hearing very loud music coming from the residence which violates a noise ordinance. The police officer knocks on the front door with no answer so he proceeds to the back door to knock when he observes what appears to be marijuana plants based on his training and experience. The police officer can seize the marijuana plants based on the Plain View Doctrine. In Harris v. [1] The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In an extension of the plain view doctrine, officers are also allowed to do a protective sweep when they make an arrest on or outside private premises. They may, despite the absence of a search warrant, examine the entire premises for other persons whose presence would pose a threat either to their safety or to evidence that could be removed or destroyed. [5] The police officer has the right to seize anything in plain view while conducting the sweep. The police officer would need to lock down the house after the sweep and apply for the search warrant. If the police officer precedes to search the resident s house without obtaining a search warrant the evidence obtained can be deemed illegal under the Fruit of the Poisonous Tree Doctrine. Under this rule, Fruit of the Poisonous Tree Doctrine, evidence that has been seized illegally is considered tainted and cannot be used against a suspect. [6] The Exclusionary Rule could also be used as cited in the Mapp v. Ohio case. Anything obtained illegally could be deemed tainted or inadmissible in court. It is imperative that the police officers follow all procedures faithfully and as per the tenets that the courts have set up. Any mistakes can, and regularly do, permit a liable party to go free on a technicality.
  • 11. Critical Analysis Of Agunpakhi Agunpakhi, published in April 2008 is the first full fledged novel written by Hassan Ajizul Haque. He was born in1939 in West Bengal and just after the completion of his school studies, his family had to leave India for East Bengal to avoid any insidious after effect of the partition. Atin Bandyapadhaya and Sunanda Sikdar both left East Bengalfor West Bengalbut Ajizul Haque was one, who left West Bengal for East Bengal. Ordinarily, the critics tend to take it as altogether a feminist novel, but an in depth study may bring out the truth that it is a tale of metamorphosis or a total transformation of a humanself into a metaphorical phoenix, born out of the fire of riot. It s a tale of a woman, who struggles within and ultimately is purified. A disadvantage of FPTP votingis that a small increase in the number of votes a party s candidate receives results in a larger increase in the number of seats that party s candidate wins. The principle of equality means that every province would be equally represented in the Senate regardless of its population. The idea of equal representation arises when provinces like Ontario are compared smaller provinces such as Alberta. • 33. What Are The Role Of Women During The Elizabethan Era Introduction The Elizabethan Era is said to have been one of the most interesting periods in the History of England. The Era being named after Queen Elizabeth the I, also called the Virgin Queen is not only famous for its monarchy and explorers but it was also the era of the appearance of the very first theatres in England ( Alchin,1). The Elizabethan theatre was a booming business for England, and the people loved it. However, there was one thing that the theatre was missing, women. Queen Elizabeth the I saw to the prohibition of female actresses on stage. Being an actress was not considered a reliable profession and it was immoral, therefore young boys played the roles of women ( Alchin, 1). Court Masques were a special form of entertainment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was very clear back then what expectations were desired of men and women. Men role in society was going of to work to provide for their families, whilst the role of women in society was to learn to keep quiet and to maintain a good household. By law there were certain jobs that women were prohibited to work in, some of these include medicine, law and politics. It would all depend on one s social class what sort of an education one would receive. Elizabethan women from wealthy and noble families would sometimes be privileged by having a minor education, whilst the lower class Elizabethan women would receive none of any kind, instead they were taught household duties (Sharnette, 2). In Elizabethan history, women who were not married were considered threats to society as they were seen upon as witches. There are many cases of women being persecuted and hunted as witches then burnt to the stake for their presumed crimes. Women in that era were taught to know their place as inferior to men. By law and with acceptance from the parents girls from the age of only 12 were allowed to get married (Lin, 1). The church that played a massive role in society and everyday life expressed that; Women in her greatest perfection was made to serve and obey men (John Knox). In Elizabethan society men were completely dominant over women and there was no say in the matter. Family fortunes would be passed on from male hair to the next male hair even if the women were older and seemed entitled to it. The only exception of this rule was the monarchy (Sharnette,2). Therefore there was no chance in thinking that women could freely decide to take up a career on stage as a talented actress, women were put in their place and were made to stay

A Summary Of Wilsonian Internationalism Wilsonian Internationalism, also known as Liberal Internationalism, is a foreign policy ideology that advocates for open communication between nations and solving international disputes using a strong faith in the rule of law...and in the ability of dynamic democratic capitalism to spread prosperity to all (Lecture A, Week 3). This ideology encouraged and reinforced a bond between countries to promote peace, while still furthering economic success. Woodrow Wilsonwas a strong proponent of justice and open understandings between countries, and the term Wilsonian Internationalism was coined after this political and economic theory. In a speech to Congress in 1917 called War Message , Wilson showcases his ideology after events in WWI forced him to acknowledge the ever narrowing gap that was America s likelihood of staying out of the war. In War Message , Wilson emphasizes that Germany endangers peace and understanding of the international law which [should] be respected and observed upon the seas, where no nation had right of dominion and where lay the free highways of the world (War Message, pp. 44). He argues that when Germany sank ships that had no bearing to the war in the least, and breaking international law, they were crafting a political world where democracy was not the foremost priority. Wilson used this stance on Germany to propose entering the war on the grounds that threats to democracy to some, was a threat to democracy of all, stating, the world must be

  • 36. Pawn The King The Pawn or the King? A contradictory pair exists in the psyche of humanity. We somehow believe that we are both the metaphorical center of the universe and involved in some greater plan over which we have no control or no significant effect. The 1951 movie The Day the Earth Stood Still, directed by Robert Wise, shows both of these ideas: the existence of a higher power in the form of a more intelligent alien race and the self importance placed upon a people by themselves specifically a nation. The dichotomy between humanity s egoism and its desire to shun responsibility prevents us from fully accepting one or the other. Egoism is not a uniquely human characteristic. However, it is something humanity takes to the next level. Primates and other hierarchal animals express the innate nature that is self interest. For male lions, this self interest is the only thing that keeps them alive. Contrary to popular belief, it is the female lion the lioness that forms the foundation of the pride. The lioness does the hunting, the nurturing, and the defending of the pride. Male lions have slim chances of survival on their own, and unlike the lioness, genetic (or familial) ties do not keep it in the pride. When ousted, they must fight for, scavenge or even steal food. The final goal of the male lion is to become part of a pride, as their escort, performing duties but also securing food for itself. A male lion will fight males in the pride for their positions of security. Its individual

Most factors are external but there are also some internal conditions that affect the germination of seeds, even though this is quite rare. The most common and the most important external conditions and factors that affect the germination of seeds are oxygen, water, temperature and also in some cases light or darkness. Some plants require several variables for successful seed germination. As this is quite rare, this often depends on the individual seed and its natural habit. Dicot seed contains of two parts which have been named cotyledons. Their job is to supply the food for the growing of the young plant. An excellent example of a dicot seed is the bean seed. Dicot seeds consist of an outside cover, called seed coat, and also an embryo inside the bean. The Greek word for two is dis , and that is where we get di from. Seed which consists of only a single cotyledon are known as monocots. A corn seed is a very good example of a monocot. The seed of a monocot stays in one piece and does not split up. As the bean seed, the corn seed also has a seed coat, but this coat doesn t get off as easily. There is as well a part of the seed called the endosperm and this is the part where the monocot plants store their food. The Greek word for one is monos , and that s where we get mono from. Of course seeds consist of several components, but the three main and most significant parts are the seed coat, the endosperm and the embryo. The outer membrane of the seed is known as the seed coat and that is the part of the seed that is visible. The coat of the seed is often hard and very difficult to break. The outer membrane s function is to protect the sensitive parts that are inside the seed from diseases and common damages. Even though all seeds have a seed coat, there is

Gender equity in work place is still a heavily understudied in Australia and as is more or less worldwide. In Australia a country of so called equality which is still, even in the 21st century is an ambiguous and questionable ideal as seen by the lack of changes since implementation to close the gap. Moves towards equality have been great back in the 70s though after there has been little change and a gap averaging up to 25% from then and now, which is a cause for concern. The workforce before 1970 has had a gap of pay between the genders that is that of a significant amount. It was until the early 1970s the gender pay gap in Australia was wide, and was kept that way by institutionalized gender wage discrimination , as claimed by Paul Miller (1994, p.371). That was until the equal pay decisions for women in 1969, 1972 and 1974 put an end to the discrimination and closed the gap significantly (e.g., Gregory and Duncan, 1981; Borland, 1999), but of course the gap remained. You can find artist drawing them, scientists observing them, and poets writing about them. Sometimes these things overlap and meet one another. Annie Dillard illustrates a flock of birds flowing overheard with her words, while Audubon takes a more technical approach. Thus the global distribution of silver greatened the connection between the west and the east eliminating old patterns of trade deficit. In the documents 3, 1, 5, and 6 they discuss how when silver came into the picture many payment and old money accounting methods changed.
