Mixed Chamber Ensemble Critique
On November 8, 2015, I attended the Mixed Chamber Ensembles at Dr. Bobbie Bailey Family
Performance Center, Morgan Hall. I was very happy that weekend, because my family came up to see
me. I home town is four hours away, so this was the first time I have seen my family in two months.
There were three different opportunities to attend the Mixed Chamber Ensembles on Sunday. I choose
to attend the one at ten o clock with my friend Bria decided to attend the assembly with me and she
thought it was a new experience. Once I attended the Ensemble, I soon realized that it was a recital for
younger teens and children to perform. The first composition they played was Antique Hungarian
Dances for Wind Quintet composed by Ferenc Farkas. The instruments ... Show more content on

They positioned themselves to being playing Johannes Brahms composition Quintet for Clarinet and
Strings . The next group of performers came on stage and started playing String Quartet in G Minor,
opus 10 by Claude Debussy. Claude Debussy is an amazing composer; my favorite composition by
him is Claire de Lune . Gyorgy Ligeti Six Bagatelles for Wind Quintet
The next set of musicans entered the stage and began playing Robert Muczynski composition of Duos
for Flute and Clarinet, opus 24. This piece has seven movements, andante sostenuto, allegro risoluto,
moderato, allegro ma non troppo, andante molto and allegro. The final section was composed by
Roland Cardon named Claribel , this piece was performed only by clarinet instruments. After this song
ended they jumped right into the final section by Percy Grainger called Shepherd s Hey. I was glad
that I was able to attend this program with my friend and happy that I was able to see my family. It
was a good experience seeing younger kids enjoying what they love. They were really good and

Guns Increase Crime Rates
Crime rates are high these days not to mention thieves can murder too, thus people tends to feel more
worried for their safety. (Hemenway, 2015) Stated that 64% of the time guns make home more
dangerous rather than a much safer place (5%). In which it can also increase the number of homicide
and the gun can rebound without proper knowledge, thus owning a gun does not define your safety.
Guns can increase the chance of protecting yourself but without proper knowledge it can kill you
instead. According to (Kellerman, et al., 1993)1,860 homicides occurred in the three countries, 444 of
them (23.9%) in the home of the victims. Which (Davis, 2015) stated that many gun owners does not
know the first thing about firearms. Killers will not hesitate

Marijuana Informative Speech
Howdy, today Sara, Shelby, Jessica, Royce and I will be discussing why the rise of marijuana is so
popular in the world and United States, as well as some of the issues within the United States that are
specific with marijuana.
Introduction:
Attention: I want you to think about what comes to your mind when you hear the word marijuana and
how your thought would vary if you lived 4,000 years ago. I am sure you were not thinking about the
cannabis plant that could also produce more beneficial worldwide items such as fabric and fiber,
lighting oil, or even paper.
Thesis Statement: Today my focus will not be on the positive and negatives of the marijuana drug,
however for the next few minutes I will inform you about the importance of the past global ... Show

According to the 2010 National Drug Strategy Household Survey, 35.4% of the Australian population
reported using cannabis at some time in their lives, with 10.3% having used it in the last 12 months.
Even more astonishing news that was reported from this survey was that of the Australian population
that was surveyed more than 700,000 Australians used cannabis in the previous week. ( What is
Cannabis )
Transition to second main point: Now that we understand the cannabis plant and how global this plant
is, we will now narrow our attention to where marijuana comes from, let us dive into how marijuana
became such a popular drug worldwide.
2. Throughout the last ninety five years, marijuana has become the reason for governments worldwide
to spend billions of dollars in order to stop war on drugs , but many wonder how marijuana even
became so popular in global society.
a. According to criminal defense lawyer, Bruce Alan Block, he says that Marijuana was used as a
medicinal herb by the ancient Chinese, Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans for stomach ailments, cramps,
and pain. (Block)
i. Bruce then leads on to talk about how the drug marijuana was spread throughout Europe was during
war and trading with allies during the conquests in the Mediterranean.

Ignorance In The Matrix
A fish does not know it lives life in water. To a fish, it swimming around is equivalent to a human
walking on the street. One becomes accustomed to it s environment and do not notice the surroundings
which may in turn be strange to others. Until one is shown a different environment outside of the
considered norm, one is just like that fish oblivious to it s environment. Ignorance is bliss. This is the
case for Neo if he chooses the blue pill instead of the red, Truman not searching for his true love
Lauren and for the prisoner in Plato s cave, never finding the light that is the exit to the cave. One s
knowledge is confined to the box in which one lives. In the movie The Matrix, directed by Lana and
Lilly Wachowski, the character Neo is given a choice to either learn the truth or choose to live his life
like he was, unknowing of what lies behind the curtain. This would ve been beneficial to Neo because
of the fact that he would not have been put in harm s way nor had the pressure of having to save his
crew from the tightening grip of the sentinels. During the film Neo has a hard time equating the
magnitude of his situation, he does not believe in himself. Neo felt comfortable in his state before he
was unplugged, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Contrary, ignorance must be a part of society in order for it to keep moving forward. If the human race
were to be full of all knowing individuals then work as a society would come to a stand still.
Ignorance is mandatory for cultural sanity, sometimes it is better not to know than to worry over the
truth. If a loved one has terminal cancer, the family can decide whether or not to tell the individual or
to keep it from them to better their remaining time as a living person. This is to justify the fact that
ignorance is beneficial in some circumstances as opposed to

Experimental Cinem The Experimental Film Movement
From the beginning of film filmmakers were using the platform to tell people stories, so that people
could go be entertained and lose themselves in the experience of seeing the film. Though this form of
filmmaking was entertaining for most people, some filmmakers wanted to break this tradition and
expand filmmaking into a completely different way. Instead of making the same old narrative films,
like classical Hollywood, they want to make more abstract and complex films, they wanted to make
films as more of an art form. Instead of relying on actors and writes to tell a narrative story, these
filmmakers wanted to change things up and make films that went against the norms of the Hollywood
cinema. They wanted to experiment with different methods of filming, more imaginative and
inventive forms. They also wanted their films to have meanings and express what they, the artist, were
feeling and how they viewed the world. From this a new film movement was born, the experimental
film movement. Experimental cinema first emerged in the early 1900s out of a wider social
movements to speak of silenced or dissident voices (Rees, 2011). During these time filmmakers were
getting tired of the tradition methods of making films and wanted to go against the norms.
Experimental filmmakers would make their films outside the film industry (Thompson and Bordwell,
2009) by producing the funds for the film themselves so that they didn t have to abide by the rules of
the big studios. Instead of

Climate Change in Peru Essay
Peru is a nation composed of heterogeneous ecosystems including the coastline of the Pacific Ocean,
deserts, the Andes Mountains including the glacial regions, and the second largest portion of the
Amazon Forest Basin (US AID, 2011). Its heterogeneity creates such a dire situation for Peru in terms
of climate change and the effects it has on each individual system as well as the effects on wildlife and
human occupants that live in these regions. In Peru, the climate changes that have been taking place
have led to several disastrous outcomes that include not only draught, but have also led to depletion of
the Amazon Rain Forest, an increase in disease, extreme temperature changes, glacial ablation,
extreme weather, and changes in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cirilo Quispe Latorre, the mayor of Cachimayo district recalls how the climate has change just since
he was younger: The rains used to start in October, and we would plant broad beans, wheat, and
potatoes. Now the rains begin around mid December, and we lose more than a month and a half of
growing time. (Hufstader, 2009). Latorre goes on to say that the rains, which once ended in April now
end in March. This significantly diminishes the amount of time that farmers have to produce crops
which in turn has led to decreases in the output of crops in the last twelve years (Hufstader, 2009).
However, according to the USAID report on Peru, annual rainfall percentages have not changed
drastically over the last 40 years. There has been an increase in the coastal regions and highlands
(where most of farming takes place), a decrease in the jungle areas, and little change anywhere else
(US AID, 2011).What has changed though, is the extent of the drought periods which cannot be
alleviated by the intense periods of rain (US AID, 2011). This issue could be helped in the long term
by utilizing more advanced irrigation methods that could store water during the intense rains to help
alleviate some of the burden of the long droughts.
One of the most significant effects of climate change in the region has been the devastating effects of
the melting glaciers. These glaciers often provide an extra source of water for farming regions, storing
water in the rainy season and

Mulan And Ban Zhao s Lessons For Women
Filial piety in Confucianism is represented in both the movie Mulan and Ban Zhao s Lessons for
Women. We can see that in Confucianism filial piety is a virtue of respect for ones parents, elders, and
ancestors. Women specifically though in Chinese culture after three days of birth of a baby girl are
supposed to place the baby underneath the bed to indicate that she is lowly, weak and seek to
understand that to humble herself is her primary duty. Also, they are supposed to give her a piece of
broken pottery to practice labor and for it to be her primary duty to be industrious. Lastly, they are
supposed to announce the baby girl at birth so to show her, her primary duty is the continuation of the
observance of worship in the home.( Chinese Culture) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning of the movie you can see that Mulan is getting ready to see the match maker, to get
her ready to find a husband. She happens to make mistakes and dishonors her family. Later that night
she feels the need to speak out and tell her father he should not need to fight for the Emperor because
he has already done so in the past, and is now older and injured. Her father gets upset with her and
tells her she needs to learn her place. She is not allowed to speak out when not asked to speak, but he
was also upset that she has dishonored the family. You see Mulan speak out once again when one of
the Emperors council members comes to the town and notifies the families that one man from each
family is to serve in the Emperors army to fight against the Hans that have invaded China. By Mulan
speaking her mind she disgraces her and her family. Also, when she joins the Emperors army, even

She desires beauty, but does not look like them therefore she is not beautiful. She fits into her clothes,
but the sizes do not fit the standard. She passes up the toast for breakfast, the hamburger for lunch and
the Chinese takeout for dinner. She sweats daily so that someday she will not have to sweat it at all.
She looks at the scale unsatisfied knowing twenty pounds is not enough. She, along with millions of
teenage girls feel pressured to build or maintain the perfect body. Thoughts on how one perceives their
psychical appearance or body image, can start at the age of six and last through adulthood. Due to the
desire of excessive weight loss teenage girls are affected by eating disorders, relationships, and the

The Native American Indian Movement
In today s day and age, equality, freedom, and rights for all are topics that are constantly being brought
up in politics and everyday life. However, these are not new ideas. In fact, throughout history, people
have been fighting for their freedom, equality, rights, and fighting against the degeneration their
cultures and beliefs. In the case of the Native Americans, they were abused and exploited for millennia
only to benefit people of higher power. Similar to other oppressed groups, there became a time when
the American Indians began to stand for who they are and commenced fighting for the demolition of
injustice. Because of the increasing need for a voice, members of the Native American communities
band together to create the American Indian Movement (AIM).
The initiation of AIM lead to a spur of American Indian non violent protests, which began the
fundamental transformation of society. The American Indian Movement was formally founded in July
1968. However the group existed unnamed for 500 years prior to the founding. In 1999, 30 years after
their creation, the group published a paper discussing the history of AIM and the methods behind their
cause. The movement was founded to turn the attention of Indian people toward a renewal of
spirituality which would impart the strength of resolve needed to reverse the ruinous policies of the
United States, Canada, and other colonialist governments of Central and South America. For the
group, spirituality and native

Good Guys Always Win Analysis
Sometimes decisions can be very hard to make. You are stuck contemplating whether you should do
one thing or the other. Often times, people try to choose the right thing to do as their final decision.
Sometimes, people make the wrong decision, and choose the wrong thing to do. When you are making
decisions, you have to remember what your morals are and what you value. This is exactly what Mrs.
Kittredge had to do when making her decision in Cover Ups, and this is what the Good Guy had to do
in Good Guys Always Win. In Cover Ups, Mrs. Kittredge had to decide whether to confess to her

Garage-Door Research Paper
Before you decide to repair garage door springs, you should be aware of a few things. The springs on
garage doors are under a lot of pressure. If they snap and this is a possibility, they can cause an injury
that can be quite serious. The best thing to do, especially if you are not experienced at this type of
repair is to call a professional. They are specially trained and have the equipment needed to change the
springs or repair them.
Garage door springs are located on both sides of the door. Even if you are only having problems with
one, changing both of them is best. If one breaks or has problems, the other will likely follow suit
shortly. The springs are generally good for approximately 10,000 openings before needing replaced.
Some springs are extension springs and are looped. Other types including torsion springs are used for
garage doors as well.
The springs that are needed are not going to be easy to find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The measurements for replacements cannot be off even by a little because each one is specific to the
weight of the door on which it is used. This determines the amount of torque that is need when
opening and closing the door.
In addition, when you decide to change the springs yourself, if something is not installed correctly or
the door does not work properly afterward, you must start all over again. This can become quite
expensive. When you seek an expert to perform this repair or replacement, the work should be
guaranteed. This is one of the things that you will want to make sure of before hiring a garage door
repair person.
The parts they use are guaranteed as well. This means that if something happens in a few days and the
garage is not working properly, they will come back and fix the problem without cost to you.
Therefore, the expense that is incurred when must be repaired or replaced is probably going to be less
if you choose a company that specializes in garage

What Role Does Functionalism Play In American Politics
The most significant concept and issue to date is politics in regards to religion. Remarkably, however,
religious talk in American politics actually escalated in the late 20th century, even as the public s
engagement with traditional religion was waning. As new religiously motivated voting blocs emerged,
politicians adjusted their rhetoric and actions accordingly. Religious political talk became assertive
and remains prominent to the present day (Domke). Therefore politics, have existed for centuries to
protect the interest of the ruling class, and how society governs itself the rules and regulations it lays

For example, politics provide a way to govern society. Therefore functionalism, believes that the
government has four main purposes: planning and directing society, meeting social needs, maintaining
law and order, and managing international relations. According to functionalism, all aspects of society
serve a purpose. Functionalists view government and politics as a way to enforce norms and regulate
conflict. Functionalists see active social change, such as the sit in on Wall Street, as undesirable
because it forces change and, as a result, undesirable things that might have to be compensated for.
Functionalists seek consensus and order in society. Dysfunction creates social problems that lead to
social change. For instance, functionalists would see monetary political contributions as a way of
keeping people connected to the democratic process. This would be in opposition to a conflict theorist
who would see this financial contribution as a way for the rich to perpetuate their own

Essay On The Assassination Of King Henry II Of France
When King Henry II of France died in 1559, many people in France were surely upset. King Henry II
of France was killed during a jousting accident. Certainly none of them would have any idea how his
accidental death while jousting would have extremely dire consequences for the people of France and
much of the rest of Europe. As King Henry II of France was laid to rest, his 15 year old frail son
Frances II of France came to power. With King Frances only being 15 he would need someone to help
him rule as regent of France. The Queen mother and Henry s widow Catherine De Medicis took over
this role. The fact that Francis II was not only young, but also sickly was looked upon as weakness to
some.
Seizing on this supposed weakness of the throne were three contending families in France. The
Bourbon and Montmorency Chatillon families both allied themselves with a Protestant faction in
France called the Huguenots. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Huguenots in France had been executed. This mass execution had an effect not just in France, but also

French families, but it had also become something much bigger, it had become a struggle between
Catholics and Protestants. Many other nations in Europe were having a similar struggle. The
Protestant religion had spread to countries like England, The Netherlands, and Spain. These other

For example in our childhood, we learned we have five senses: taste, touch, smell, sight, and hearing.
However, the fact that humans have lots of other senses than this, such as a sense of balance for
example. This other sensory input ensures that we have an abundant flow of information from the
environment to our minds.
Therefore, we can say that our entire experience of reality is nothing but a combination of sensory
information and our brains sense making mechanisms for that particular information. It stands to
reason then, that if you can present your senses with given information, your perception of reality
would also change in response to it.
Use of Virtual Reality technology:
Today there are many applications use virtual reality which mainly include fields like Architecture,
Sport, Medicine, the Arts and surely an entertainment where we can see considerable growth in the

the most superior? Deadpool (of the Marvel Universe) can be classified as the most powerful of all

The same health regeneration ability of Wolverine was given to Deadpool. However, unlike
Wolverine, Deadpool s health regeneration is quick enough that he is quite literally immortal. In the
Marvel comic, Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe #1 , Sue of the Fantastic Four uses her powers to
blow up Deadpool s head. As she turns away, Deadpool was able to regrow his head and stab her from
behind (Bunn). Also, in the Marvel comic, Deadpool: Suicide Kings , the Punisher is able to cut off
both of Deadpool s arms and even decapitate him. Right as Daredevil and Spider man jump in to stop
the Punisher, Deadpool was able to escape the scene regenerated of any injuries (Barbieri, Benson,
Crystal). Deadpool was able to regenerate all limbs and organs in a matter of seconds to save his life.
This nails the idea that Deadpool is in fact, immortal. Some of the most strategic heroes and villains of
the Marvel Universe have not been successful in killing Deadpool. Deathstroke, on the other hand, can
regenerate health, but it does not allow him to regrow limbs unlike the far superior capabilities of
Deadpool. As seen on the television show Arrow, Deathstroke was shot in the eye with Green Arrow s
Arrow. Later on in the seasons, Deathstroke never regrows that eye and uses an eye patch (CW). If
any serious injuries are inflicted on Deathstroke s limbs or organs, it could mean the end of his life.
One quick stab to the heart with Deadpool s sword would kill Deathstroke. This further concludes that
in a deathmatch involving Deadpool vs. Deathstroke, the one to survive would be

Owen Meany Quotes
Passage 7 Quote #2 Owen Meany would accuse Calvin of bad faith. There were no accidents; there
was a reason for that baseball just as there was a reason for Owen being small, and a reason for his
voice. In Owen s opinion, he had INTERRUPTED AN ANGEL, he had DISTURBED AN ANGEL AT
WORK, he had UPSET THE SCHEME OF THINGS. I choose this Quote because it is a huge turning
point in the Novel, If Owen hadn t interrupted that angel Owen wouldn t have killed Tabby and the
chain of events that lead to Owen Dying would never have occurred. This is when I truly started to
believe that Owen doesn t have free will at all and that God is going to Steer his fate. This passage is a
great example of the theme of Free will Versus fait. I think that the whole novel is a chain of events
that no matter what the characters do will end up in Owen and Tabby Dying. For instance on her
wedding day When the chunk of Hail hits Tabby in the Head its foreshadowing that something no
matter what will kill her. Passage 8 Quote #3 So he s a teacher? my grandmother asked. This was

Andrew Rickley Analysis
Careless What separate s a person from their money is when they do not know how to stop spending,
but what keeps a person with money is when they know how to save. The different stories that I read I
learned that most people that come into a large amount of money do not know how to stop spending.
Saving money played an important role in many people s life that won the lottery, well the ones that
didn t end with them going broke after they won the lottery. Being able to buy a nice home, car, and
treat yourself to the finer things in life is cool. When you don t know when to stop that is when you

millions of dollars that you will win, such as that trip that you have been planning your whole life.
Even last week when my class and I decided to play the lottery; I was thinking about several many
things that I will be able to buy with my millions. On the other hand, most people do not think about
the money that they are spending on the tickets that they are buying. The little dollar that they are
spending starts to add up against them; Think about the other things that you would be able to do with
that dollar such as starting a savings account. Today, most people do not know the importance of
saving money, it seems like the meaning of saving money has been lost. When I was growing up I
always was taught to save money and not to spend your hard earned money on frivolous things. I was
taught to put half away because you would never know when you will need some extra cash.
Some people might say that, it s okay to spend your money on things that you always wanted. We all
would want to have that big house or that dream car that we always dreamed about, but that is when
you must draw the line. Going from having your dream car to having to take the bus is the outcome of
being carless with your money. No one would want to go back down that road; well I know I wouldn t

How safe do you feel when you attend school everyday? Many students and faculty don t really think

In Maslow theory there are five factors that he uses to identify this.
Physiological needs. These are the needs which people cannot live without. So these needs are
important in motivation. People go to job in order to full fill these needs. Physiological needs includes
water, food, shelter etc.
Safety needs. Safety needs are the needs which people want for their own. Example in jobs people
have to have safety in job. When management changes employees will be fired from the job. But if an

Belongingness need. These needs are also important. If a person goes to work he/she should get the

A Pediatrician and an optometrist are both professions that are needed in order to help people be
healthy. Both are a type of doctor and help the general public. The two require a good education and
require getting into a school that specializes in their field. When working, they make what is
considered a good amount of money. These aspects appeal to me because they are all qualities I can
see in my future. But each career has many aspects that differ from each other. A pediatrician
specializes in the care taking of children, while an optometrist is concerned with the human eyes. They
both require a different amount of education and make different amounts of money. For me, I do want
to work with kids, but helping people with their eyes really interests me. Though being a pediatrician
and an optometrist are both excellent careers, I prefer being an optometrist due to the education
requirements, general description, and the salary. Being a pediatrician requires a good education,
working with children and leaves the doctor with a high salary. The education for a pediatrician is very
similar to any type of doctor. It requires going to an undergraduate school for four years. After doing
this, one must have a Bachelor s degree in order to move forward. Then there are four more years of
medical school. After the degree is earned, a pediatrician has to go through at least three years of a
residency. If a pediatrician plans on going into a subspecialty, then it would take two more

The Rebellion Of Mother, By Mary Wilkins Freeman Essay
The Power of a Woman The Revolt of Mother, by Mary Wilkins Freeman, originally published in
Harper s Bazaar in 1890 (Gale 1997) it gives readers a view into the life of a woman who is struggling
with how to be correct and proper yet, remain true to herself. While some may see Sarah s actions as
signs of weakness they are actually showing her strength. She is a woman who, in spite of the
restrictions placed on her because of her gender shows the power of a woman by, knowing when to
pick her battles, showing love for her family by serving them, and following her heart to make the
hard decisions regardless of the opposition. The opening scene has Sarah Penn picks her battles in a
conversation with her husband. A glimpse is given of Adoniram, the husband s feelings about the
conversation he knows is coming. It must have been a familiar battle between them; he is unwilling to
discuss, and she is unwilling to leave until she gets answers. She exudes a quiet strength, as she stands
waiting, her physical characteristics are described But her eyes, fixed upon the old man, looked as if
the meekness had been the result of her own will, never the will of another. (Freeman 145). She is a
woman who understands the rules of society regarding her gender and she knows when and where to
pick her battles. Later in the story, Sarah again shows strength in knowing when to pick her battles
with her husband. She speaks up when she must and stays silent when she recognizes the

Differences Between Greeks And The Mediterranean Sea
Greeks have been in America since about 1528. Greece is located at the southeast end of Europe on
the Mediterranean Sea. The first recorded Greeks colonized in Florida, which is where about 77
thousand Greeks still inhabit today as well as a majority of the East Coast. Greeks believe in a simple
four step process to being healthy and if these four basic kinds of things are in order they will be
healthy but if they are out of order, illness will occur. I chose to do my research on Greeks because I
had heard of the popular Mediterranean Diet talked about for years. I have also seen movies about
Greek culture, like My Big Fat Greek Wedding, but did not know all the traditions of the Greeks.
The four step process of health maintenance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example Epione is the goddess of the soothing of pain and Iaso is the goddess of recuperation
from illness. As far as my research shows, most modern Greeks go to physicians to restore their
health. There are also Greeks who use a new alternative form of medicine used today called
Hellenistic pagans, these are people who pray to the Greek Gods to help them heal. They also use
dietary management using foods that are easy to digest like soups to detoxify their bodies. Another
way to restore health is to correct the four step process if you are doing something wrong. To protect
their health from the evil eye, Greeks wear garlic, amulets, or make a cross out of ash behind a child s
ear. The evil eye curse is when someone has envy for another, and this superstition has been around
for many years and symptoms include headache, nausea and confusion. Greeks also knock wood to
guard against misfortune.
Many cultures also have rites, which are ceremonial acts. Birth rites in the Greek culture are very
important, because family is important, so birth is celebrated. Gifts are given to pregnant women like
little amulets to guard against evil eye or gold coins. Families also often honor traditional names in the
family by bestowing the name on the baby. For the marriage rites the ceremony is spoken in Greek or
English, but there are traditional parts that

Comparing Zefferelli s Production of Romeo and Juliet with Luhrman Production In this essay I am
going to write how the production of Romeo In Franco Zeffirelli s production of Romeo and Juliet, the
setting and language are of a traditional, realistic nature. This is in complete contrast to Baz Luhrmans
production, with the exception of the language used in both productions. Zefferelli s production
however is far more effective, as he has tried to keep the film close to the original script and intended
exactly how Shakespeare wrote it. This approach clearly portrays the concept Shakespeare is trying to
demonstrate and it sincerely aids understanding, as Zefferelli has kept it original. ... Show more

Zefferelli does not vary the camera shots as much as Luhrman does, although he uses different angles
to suit the atmosphere he wants to create. He also uses many natural sounds, e.g. crowd noises, horses
travelling. I have noticed in the opening, he uses non diegetic sounds until Romeo s entrance.
Luhrman uses a lot more music, which is of great significance as this is what creates the atmospheric
moods of the play. The lighting varies greatly in each play. It plays an essential role in displaying the
importance of character or in setting an atmosphere. In Zefferelli s production, the lighting in the
opening scenes is of a dull, low key nature (no detail), and then develops as the market stall scene
commences; the lighting is now high key, showing more detail. This is in complete opposite to the
lighting used in Luhrman s production, as Luhrman applies high key lighting straight from the
beginning. Zefferelli in his production shows a distinct contrast in the outfits worn by the two
individual, different families. Both Luhrman and Zefferelli use a stereotype view on the clothing. The
use of sets in the film makes it far more effective and realistic. Zefferelli uses all the old fashion
original props, such as swords etc. Luhrman replaces these swords applying the modern approach to
killing, using guns.

The Contribution Of Galileo
Galileo Galilei, an Italian scientist, made groundbreaking observations that contributed to modern
physics and astronomy. Galileo established mathematics as the language of scientific discovery. He
founded the scientific method and helped establish the modern practice of experimentation and
calculated laws of nature.
In July of 1609, Galileo developed his own telescope and with it, he made several astronomical
discoveries. For example, Galileo discovered that the surface of the moon is rough and uneven as
opposed to smooth as people had thought. Galileo also discovered with his telescope that many more
stars exist than are visible to the naked eye. According to author E.B., Galileo also found sunspots
upon the surface of our star and discovered the phases of Venus, which confirmed that the planet
circles the sun inside Earth s own orbit (45).
Galileo was also curious about how things move, and this curiosity led to important discoveries in
physics. For instance, he questioned the then current belief that heavy objects fall faster than light
ones. In order to refute this, Galileo did many experiments. For example, it is said that he dropped two
different weights from the Tower of Pisa to show that they hit the ground at the same time, a
demonstration that paved the way for Isaac Newton s Laws of Motion. Galileo also tested his theory
by rolling balls down an inclined plane at various angles. These experiments lead to Galileo s the law
of falling bodies. This law states that all objects will fall at an equal rate when accounting for
relatively minor differences in aerodynamics and weather conditions.
Another discovery Galileo made with regards to motion was about the pendulum. The author of An
Inquisitive Mind Kim Zarins wrote about the experiment:
Galileo made two pendulums with string of equal lengths and a lead ball at the end of each. Then he
pulled one ball back twice as far as the other, and let them both go at the same time. He expected to
see the ball with the longer swing take a longer time to move back and forth. In fact, both pendulums
moved in perfect synchronization! They swung at the same rate, even though one pendulum was
moving twice as far and one ball was heavier than the other (41).

Figurative Language In William Blake s The Tiger
Martin Bennett
Engl. 102
6/17/17
The Tiger, originally called The Tyger, is a lyric poem focusing on the nature of God and his creations.
It was published in 1794 in a collection entitled Songs of Experience (1). Poetry Essay Outline Thesis:
The Tiger is a poem by William Blake that routines a lot of underlying themes, throughout the writing.
He asks a series of serious queries concerning the nature of God, and why he created the tiger. The
theme of the poem is about God as the creator of good and evil that leads the reader to think.
The strongest literary element in William Blake s poem The Tyger, which is figurative language.
Figurative language can be defined as anything said or written that means something beyond the literal
meaning of the words that are used (2). The initial lines of Blake s poem are chock full of intense
figurative language: Tyger! Tyger! burning bright, In the forests of the night, the tiger is not literally
burning, of course, and this metaphor of fire and burning is carried out through the poem and takes on
all sorts of associations, including an association with the infernal. Allusion also plays an important
role in the poem. Stanza two includes an allusion to Icarus, who in classic myth attempts to fly to the
sun ( ...what wings... ). The allusion mixes with the fire imagery, and the idea that the creator forges
the tiger in fire, like a blacksmith. Stanza five contains an allusion to the fall of Satan from heaven

The Campaign Of Joseph Mccarthy
In 1950, fewer than fifty thousand Americans out of a total one hundred fifty million were members of
the communist party. This was the information Senator Joseph McCarthy used to receive permission
to proceed in exploitive communist hunts. McCarthy was dishonest in these hunts, leading to damage
far beyond repair to the United States and its citizens. Joseph McCarthy mislead the United States by
instilling unnecessary fear in the United States citizens, creating unnecessary tension between the
United States and Soviet Union, and compromised the safety of Americans.
Re Election was approaching and Joseph McCarthy s first term was unimpressive. Edmund Walsh

carrying members of the communist party who worked for the United States Department of State (
McCarthyism ). On February 20, 1950, McCarthy addressed the Senate and made a list of claims and
cited eight one cases ( McCarthyism ). The Senate then called for a full investigation. McCarthy took
advantage of the citizens fear of communism, conveying how he deceived the nation to reach the
superiority he wished to achieve.

What Does The Poem Thou Blind Man s Mark Mean
Thou Blind Man s Mark dramatizes the speaker s inner desires versus his realistic and virtuous side
that denounces desires. The first three lines open up the subject of desire with, Thou blind man s mark,
thou fool s self chosen snare, that continuous to listen very different types of people that have desires.
The introduction of the blind man s target is also important as it shows the Speaker s opinion of desire
as a whole. Desire is seen as an unrealistic hope and something opposite of reality of life. The speaker
goes on to exclaim, Desire, desire! I have too dearly bought, which reflects the shift of this poem to
the author s opinions and attitude. Desire as something to be brought shows that a sacrifice must be
made to even have a desire, whether to God or to the human mind. The attitude is that of sacrifice for
something worthless. With price of mangled mind, thy worthless ware, shows exactly what the
speaker meant in the line above, that desire is some worthless good that hurts someone, that could

Detection And Management Of A Complex Canal Configuration
Title of the article: Detection And Management Of A Complex Canal Configuration In Mesio Buccal
Root Of Maxillary First Molar Using Three Dimensional Imaging. Abstract: This case report discusses
on the identification and management of complex canal configuration of 3 2 1 in the mesio buccal
(MB) root of maxillary left first molar. Careful attention to details in the pulpal floor, application of
knowledge of laws of orifice location along with deepening the sub pulpal groove with ultra sonic tips
helped in identifying the three MB canals. Manual scouting helped to know the anatomic
configuration and use of three dimensional imaging technique, Spiral computed tomography (SCT)
confirmed the same.SCT images showed bucco lingually wide and bulbous mesio buccal root with
three separate canals at coronal third that merged into two canals in the middle and exited as a single
canal at the apex. This article highlights the role of SCT in three dimensionally analysing the unseen
rarest canal configurations that ultimately enabled the clinician to thoroughly explore, debride and
obturate entire root canal system. Key words: Canal configuration, Maxillary first Molar, Mesio
buccal canal, Spiral computed tomography, Introduction: Internal anatomy of the mesio buccal (MB)
root of maxillary first molar has been studied extensively for past three decades as this is the root that
exhibited a maximum number of variations not only in the presence of extra canals but also in their

Genucel Skin Care Informative Speech
Nobody likes to wake up to see their eyes looking baggy or puffy, or even worse, their eyes making
them look older than they are. Genucel Skin Care is a line of products using Plant Stem Cell Eye
Therapy to reduce the signs of damage around your eyes like those unsightly bags, dark circles,
sagging skin or puffiness and swelling.
About Genucel Skin Care
Genucel is the latest offering from Chamonix, which is based in New Jersey. Not only does the
products contain their patented plant stem cell component, but it also includes Eyeseryl. Eyeseryl is

Along with the plant stem cells, you will also find double the concentration than was used in the
clinical study of Eyeseryl and algae extract. Algae extract has the ability to safely balance out the vital
minerals your skin needs to stay healthy and supple and it acts as a powerful anti inflammatory, which
helps reduce the puffy appearance around the eyes. Next on the list, you would find green tea extract
and while green tea has long been renowned for its overall health benefits when drunk as a tea, it also
has amazing benefits for the skin when applied topically. Marine based hydrolyzed collagen boosts
your skin s collagen production, resulting in firmer and younger looking skin that is softer and more
supple to the touch. Rounding out the ingredients is goji berry extract. Goji berries have long been
touted as a superfood for your health, but like green tea extract, it also has highly restorative properties
for your skin. It is a strong defense against free radicals and other toxins that the skin absorbs, these
toxins are one of the primary causes of your skin aging so

Moral Dilemma Project Examples
Moral Dilemmas Project
Each of the three prominent approaches to moral dilemmas carry with it various aspects with which I
find affinity. For example, generally, each maintain the existence of many absolute moral norms,
meaning that for these norms there are no exceptions or exemptions. Specifically, however, Non
Conflicting Absolutism ( NCA ) highlights the Lord s sovereign rule and transcendence over creation
in arguing that moral norms are birthed from the character and essence of God. For example, Isaiah
55:8 9 (NRSV) says, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the
Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my
thoughts than your thoughts. Reminding us, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paul declares to the Corinthians, No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is
faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also
provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it (I Cor. 10:13, NASB). Ideal Absolutist argue
that one must choose the lesser of two evils, and as a result in these moral dilemmas one commits a sin
and stands guilty before God however, this sin is pardonable. In other words, we ve made our beds in
sin as humanity and now we must live in it. However, John and Paul Feinberg right note in their co
authored book, Ethics for a Brave New World, Moral philosophers commonly agree that in assessing
moral praise or blame for an action, one must consider whether the agent acted freely or not. The
principle involved is: no one is morally guilty for failing to do what he could not do or for doing what
he could not fail to do [emphasis added]. That is, moral responsibility presupposes freedom of action.
Moral oughts imply that the agent can do his duty [emphasis added]. As such, guilt would not be
imposed when moral conflicts arise simply because one simply cannot not feasibly obey both. One of
the better and simplest metaphors of this is when two roads intersect, one must yield to the other we
refer to this as the right of way . Feinberg and

Social Media And Its Effects On The Way People Interact...
In the globalized world, social media has becoming increasingly (Madden Zickuhr, 2009). The social
media applications have dominated the way people interact with each other, it also impacts on the way
we do business in comparison with that in the last decade. The question should be mentioned firstly
what is social media? There are some ways to define the term social media; however, in general, this
is considered as a place where meets the demand for social interaction by using technological
advancements such as web based technology (Constantinides, 2014; Kaplan Haenlein, 2010; Safko
Brake, 2009). Similarity, Tuten and Solomon (2013) also defined social media as the online means of
communication, conveyance, collaboration, and cultivation among interconnected and interdependent
networks of people, communities, and organizations enhanced by technological capacities and
mobility . There are some types of social media and there is no definitive typology of different types
of social media (Kaplan and Haenlein, 2010); nevertheless, it can differentiate towards social
networking (e.g. Facebook), professional networking (e.g. LinkedIn), video sharing (e.g. you tube)
and so on. From these meta analysis, it also cannot be denied that nowadays, social media plays a key
role in giving the democratization of information, knowledge in which it allows individual and
entrepreneurs to take part in social communication in some way that have never ever existed before

Competitive Cheer leading When people hear the word cheer leading they tend to think of a group of
pretty girls frolicking around being peppy in short skirts and pom poms while being optimistically
spontaneous and enthusiastic without having to put in any effort toward a physical and mental state
that challenges one s ability. It never comes to mind, to question whether the fact competitive cheer
leading is a sport. Being peppy is the common stereotypical outlook that has been put on cheer
leaders. It can be seen as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The definition of a sport is an athletic activity requiring skill or physical [ability] and often a
competitive nature... ( Sport ). Cheer leading has become a thriving female industry in a primarily
male dominated world that should be worthy enough to receive the respect it deserves to be called a
sport. Many may agree to competitive cheerleading being a sport due to it having to be highly
competitive, physically and financially demanding, and requiring an abundant amount of trust in the
team.
Cheer leading was started in the 1880 s by a pep club of all men that lead the crowd with chants in
Princeton University football games. One of the men in that pep club, Thomas Peebles, introduced the
concept of cheer to the University of Minnesota when he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. By
1889 pep clubs, cheers, yells and fight songs continued to develop in many schools and universities
around the USA to stimulate their sport fans school spirit ( History of Cheerleading ). Now cheer
leading is overruled by mostly women. An article comments that estimates show that around 97
percent of modern cheer leading participants are female, but at the collegiate level, cheer leading is a
co ed sport with about a 50 50 split between males and females (Young). It has come a long way since
the 1880 s. Most sports these days are male dominated. Soccer, baseball, and basketball all have

Harsco Executive Summary
Investment View We initiate coverage of Harsco Corporation with a Sell rating. Harsco Corporation is
a multinational provider of industrial services and engineered products. Although the company s
operations fall into three reportable segments: Harsco Metals Minerals, Harsco Industrial and Harsco
Rail, the segments are disproportionate and leave Harsco Corp. in a vulnerable state. The company s
collective operational results are predicated on the efficacy of the troubled Metals and Minerals
segment, which accounted for 64% of total revenues for FY2015. We believe the current trend in
company share price is not in line with company performance. It appears that the recent jump in
investor confidence stems from improved net earnings; however, ... Show more content on

for customers throughout the world. Additionally, this segment provides railway track maintenance
services principally in the U.S. and the U.K. The Rail segment s key competitive factors are quality,
technology, customer service and value. Primary competitors for both products and services are
privately held global businesses as well as certain regional competitors. As a consequence of operating
in 30 different countries, Harsco Corporation is exposed to a plethora of macroeconomic risk factors
every day. We believe that the most pertinent macro threats to Harsco Corporation s continued
operations are those which apply to the company s heavily weighted Metals Minerals segment. The
industry and thus the segment depend highly on activities of the non precious metals mining and steel
industry. China remains the driver of the iron ore and steel industry. With China recently switching
from a production market to a consumer market, the industry has been facing strong over supply,
driving down iron ore and steel prices as well as industry activities. The non precious metal mining
and steel industry has seen restructuring since 2014; jobcuts and strikes have been widespread
affecting key players including BHP,

  • 7. Experimental Cinem The Experimental Film Movement From the beginning of film filmmakers were using the platform to tell people stories, so that people could go be entertained and lose themselves in the experience of seeing the film. Though this form of filmmaking was entertaining for most people, some filmmakers wanted to break this tradition and expand filmmaking into a completely different way. Instead of making the same old narrative films, like classical Hollywood, they want to make more abstract and complex films, they wanted to make films as more of an art form. Instead of relying on actors and writes to tell a narrative story, these filmmakers wanted to change things up and make films that went against the norms of the Hollywood cinema. They wanted to experiment with different methods of filming, more imaginative and inventive forms. They also wanted their films to have meanings and express what they, the artist, were feeling and how they viewed the world. From this a new film movement was born, the experimental film movement. Experimental cinema first emerged in the early 1900s out of a wider social movements to speak of silenced or dissident voices (Rees, 2011). During these time filmmakers were getting tired of the tradition methods of making films and wanted to go against the norms. Experimental filmmakers would make their films outside the film industry (Thompson and Bordwell, 2009) by producing the funds for the film themselves so that they didn t have to abide by the rules of the big studios. Latorre goes on to say that the rains, which once ended in April now end in March. This significantly diminishes the amount of time that farmers have to produce crops which in turn has led to decreases in the output of crops in the last twelve years (Hufstader, 2009). However, according to the USAID report on Peru, annual rainfall percentages have not changed drastically over the last 40 years. There has been an increase in the coastal regions and highlands (where most of farming takes place), a decrease in the jungle areas, and little change anywhere else (US AID, 2011).What has changed though, is the extent of the drought periods which cannot be alleviated by the intense periods of rain (US AID, 2011). This issue could be helped in the long term by utilizing more advanced irrigation methods that could store water during the intense rains to help alleviate some of the burden of the long droughts. Though being a pediatrician and an optometrist are both excellent careers, I prefer being an optometrist due to the education requirements, general description, and the salary. Being a pediatrician requires a good education, working with children and leaves the doctor with a high salary. The education for a pediatrician is very similar to any type of doctor. It requires going to an undergraduate school for four years. After doing this, one must have a Bachelor s degree in order to move forward. Then there are four more years of medical school. After the degree is earned, a pediatrician has to go through at least three years of a residency. If a pediatrician plans on going into a subspecialty, then it would take two more ... The first recorded Greeks colonized in Florida, which is where about 77 thousand Greeks still inhabit today as well as a majority of the East Coast. Greeks believe in a simple four step process to being healthy and if these four basic kinds of things are in order they will be healthy but if they are out of order, illness will occur. As far as my research shows, most modern Greeks go to physicians to restore their health. There are also Greeks who use a new alternative form of medicine used today called Hellenistic pagans, these are people who pray to the Greek Gods to help them heal. They also use dietary management using foods that are easy to digest like soups to detoxify their bodies. Another way to restore health is to correct the four step process if you are doing something wrong. To protect their health from the evil eye, Greeks wear garlic, amulets, or make a cross out of ash behind a child s ear. The evil eye curse is when someone has envy for another, and this superstition has been around for many years and symptoms include headache, nausea and confusion. Greeks also knock wood to guard against misfortune. Many cultures also have rites, which are ceremonial acts. Birth rites in the Greek culture are very important, because family is important, so birth is celebrated. Comparing Zefferelli s Production of Romeo and Juliet with Luhrman Production In this essay I am going to write how the production of Romeo In Franco Zeffirelli s production of Romeo and Juliet, the setting and language are of a traditional, realistic nature. This is in complete contrast to Baz Luhrmans production, with the exception of the language used in both productions. Zefferelli s production however is far more effective, as he has tried to keep the film close to the original script and intended exactly how Shakespeare wrote it. This approach clearly portrays the concept Shakespeare is trying to demonstrate and it sincerely aids understanding, as Zefferelli has kept it original. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Zefferelli does not vary the camera shots as much as Luhrman does, although he uses different angles to suit the atmosphere he wants to create. He also uses many natural sounds, e.g. crowd noises, horses travelling. I have noticed in the opening, he uses non diegetic sounds until Romeo s entrance. Luhrman uses a lot more music, which is of great significance as this is what creates the atmospheric moods of the play. The lighting varies greatly in each play. It plays an essential role in displaying the importance of character or in setting an atmosphere. In Zefferelli s production, the lighting in the opening scenes is of a dull, low key nature (no detail), and then develops as the market stall scene commences; the lighting is now high key, showing more detail. This is in complete opposite to the lighting used in Luhrman s production, as Luhrman applies high key lighting straight from the beginning. Zefferelli in his production shows a distinct contrast in the outfits worn by the two individual, different families. Both Luhrman and Zefferelli use a stereotype view on the clothing. The use of sets in the film makes it far more effective and realistic. Zefferelli uses all the old fashion original props, such as swords etc. Luhrman replaces these swords applying the modern approach to killing, using guns. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. The Contribution Of Galileo Galileo Galilei, an Italian scientist, made groundbreaking observations that contributed to modern physics and astronomy. Galileo established mathematics as the language of scientific discovery. He founded the scientific method and helped establish the modern practice of experimentation and calculated laws of nature. In July of 1609, Galileo developed his own telescope and with it, he made several astronomical discoveries. For example, Galileo discovered that the surface of the moon is rough and uneven as opposed to smooth as people had thought. Galileo also discovered with his telescope that many more stars exist than are visible to the naked eye. According to author E.B., Galileo also found sunspots upon the surface of our star and discovered the phases of Venus, which confirmed that the planet circles the sun inside Earth s own orbit (45). Galileo was also curious about how things move, and this curiosity led to important discoveries in physics. For instance, he questioned the then current belief that heavy objects fall faster than light ones. In order to refute this, Galileo did many experiments. For example, it is said that he dropped two different weights from the Tower of Pisa to show that they hit the ground at the same time, a demonstration that paved the way for Isaac Newton s Laws of Motion. Galileo also tested his theory by rolling balls down an inclined plane at various angles. These experiments lead to Galileo s the law of falling bodies. This law states that all objects will fall at an equal rate when accounting for relatively minor differences in aerodynamics and weather conditions. Another discovery Galileo made with regards to motion was about the pendulum. The author of An Inquisitive Mind Kim Zarins wrote about the experiment: Galileo made two pendulums with string of equal lengths and a lead ball at the end of each. Then he pulled one ball back twice as far as the other, and let them both go at the same time. He expected to see the ball with the longer swing take a longer time to move back and forth. In fact, both pendulums moved in perfect synchronization! They swung at the same rate, even though one pendulum was moving twice as far and one ball was heavier than the other (41). ... Poetry Essay Outline Thesis: The Tiger is a poem by William Blake that routines a lot of underlying themes, throughout the writing. Figurative language can be defined as anything said or written that means something beyond the literal meaning of the words that are used (2). The initial lines of Blake s poem are chock full of intense figurative language: Tyger! Tyger! burning bright, In the forests of the night, the tiger is not literally burning, of course, and this metaphor of fire and burning is carried out through the poem and takes on all sorts of associations, including an association with the infernal. Allusion also plays an important role in the poem. Stanza two includes an allusion to Icarus, who in classic myth attempts to fly to the sun ( ...what wings... ). The first three lines open up the subject of desire with, Thou blind man s mark, thou fool s self chosen snare, that continuous to listen very different types of people that have desires. The introduction of the blind man s target is also important as it shows the Speaker s opinion of desire as a whole. Desire is seen as an unrealistic hope and something opposite of reality of life. For example, Isaiah 55:8 9 (NRSV) says, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. That is, moral responsibility presupposes freedom of action. Moral oughts imply that the agent can do his duty [emphasis added]. The question should be mentioned firstly what is social media? There are some ways to define the term social media; however, in general, this is considered as a place where meets the demand for social interaction by using technological advancements such as web based technology (Constantinides, 2014; Kaplan Haenlein, 2010; Safko Brake, 2009).
