The Reason Of United States Invades Iraq
# 1 the reason of United States invades Iraq First of all , the first step is going to talk about why
United States invades Iraq in 2003. for serveral reasons as illustrates: First of all, due to
implementing the economic sanction, the United States invasion of Iraq was in 2003 and the
United States also occupied the Iraqi capital of Baghdad. To be specific, according to research it is
showing that referring to the Gulf War, the United Nations asked Iraqto abandon all chemical and
biological weapons is worried that these weapons will bring negative influence to the society
and world. As it is being showing by The United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM)
performed inspections in Iraq to make sure that the conditions of the peace agreement that
followed the first Gulf War were carried out. (Jakobsen NTNU n.d.). Secondly, in order to take
military sanctions against Iraq, Washington s own unilateral to take no fly zones in northern and
southern of Iraq. At the same time, after the Gulf War, President George W. Bush and President
Bill Clinton signed an agreement which is a Legally effective power of attorney in order to
overthrow and dismantle Saddam Hussein s regime and preventing Saddam s military coup. It is
not only the performance of the expans preventing Saddam s military coup, but also it can take
effective meanon for the Iraqi military. In addition, in order to allow Iraq to unconditionally accept

Identity And Discrimination In Rudali
Review a work of fiction that helped/challenged/encouraged you to reflect on questions of identity
and discrimination . The work of fiction that challenged and encouraged my perceptions on identity
and discrimination is a piece of short fiction called Rudali , written in Bengali by Mahasweta Devi
and translated to English by Anjum Katyal. This text serves as an epitome of class, caste and
gender subalternity in the historic context of brahmanical patriarchy. The protagonist individualises
the discrimination exerted on low caste communities via the triple oppression faced by them under
these structures of society (i.e caste, class and gender) and tries to subvert these hegemonic
structures from within. The title of the book, Rudali ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although in many ways this text can be seen as a radical feminist text, but Devi dismisses the
idea as she is not a feminist. She feels that it is a mere coincidence that some professions are
gendered and doesn t regard women as a separate entity but treats their oppression as linked to a
wider oppressive structure controlled by caste. She thinks that to ignore the latter in the shadow of
the former, is a denial of history . But Usha Ganguli in her introductory text Metamorphosis of
Rudali presents a different view and says that in many ways this could be read as an enabling
feminist text with the empowerement of Sanichri, the bonding between the two characters, the
importance given to household chores, the common experiences of discrimination of women along
class lines and the rare sensitivity expressed by the author towards women in general. Through this
novella, Devi discusses and rethinks questions of class, caste and gender and how such structures
affect women by giving a powerful voice to the gendered subaltern and thus rescuing them from the
dark recesses of third world

Analysis Of Baymax In The Film Big Hero 6
In the 2014 movie, Big Hero 6, there is a character named Baymax. Baymax is an inflatable robot
and primary care specialist. Now, in the movie Baymax saves the world and helps people with
holograms of their medical history. When activated, Baymax will do a full body scan and show
the patient, through a hologram, their current medical condition. Baymax may be considered only
a fictional character and not a possible reality, but a professor at Carnegie Mellon is working to
make a real life Baymax (Szondy 1). Having a personal care specialist that can follow you around
may seem unnecessary, but the truth is there are many benefits such as cancer detection, detection
in extreme fluctuation in blood pressure or cholesterol, simple cuts and/or bruises, etc. By inventing
a Baymax, together, we can protect people.
According to the World Health Organization, cancer is the fifth leading cause of death (WHO 1).
12.7 million people discover they have cancer annually and 7.6 million die from it (Huffington Post
1). Those numbers are not a total from throughout time; those are annual. Along with the 12.7
million people who are able to discover the cancer, there are millions that die because they had
cancer that was undiagnosed. How does modern medical technology miss cancer? Why is

Heart disease can be detected through changes in blood pressure, cholesterol, and heart beat. Most
people do not have medical devices hooked up to them 24/7 that show every time that something
irregular happens in their body. Having a personal robot would not be perfect to show everything
happening in your body all the time, but it would give you the opportunity to check anytime you
feel something is wrong. All of the medical conditions described above are not easy things for
families to deal with and on top of the emotional stress, there is typically a lot of financial

Essay Bismarck Claims The Credit For German Unification
Bismarck Claims The Credit For German Unification
In the early 19th Century, the growth of nationalism and the growing economic strength of the
German states was very great. The German s shared a common identity in the form of language
race and heritage such as music, literature and poetry. The growing improvements in
communications and transport also brought the states one step closer together. The reduction of the
number of German states from 365 to 39 states made each state more economically and militarily
stronger.
Conditions, particularly economic conditions, were such in 1862 that Bismarck was able to build
on them and gain the credit for their successes.

Nationalism was also at a great high in Europe even reaching to countries out with Europe. The
majority of middle class liberals wished to instate an elected government with freedom of speech
and press. It was clear that these aims could be achieved through a unified Germany, therefore
identifying the liberals with the nationalist cause. In the 1840 s military manoeuvres and political
decisions made by the French which seemed threatening to the Germans provoked strong reactions
from many of the Germans leading to a growth in nationalism and the creation of nationalistic
songs, sung by the German troops such as, The watch on the Rhine . The revolutions, which took
place in France, Italy and the Austrian Empire along with the fall of prince Metternicht, encouraged
the German nationalists who longed for a unified Germany. The middle classes also pressed for
political reform. Revolts in Prussia caused the king to create a Prussian national assembly, which in
the end failed due to lack of strong leadership and right wing oppositions to the collapse of the
assembly.

Compare And Contrast A Fabricated Mexican And The Girl In...
How is A Fabricated Mexican different from The Girl in My Town? These books are about two
characters that come from Mexican families and live in an impoverished place in America. Both
families work hard to make their life better by overcoming their struggles and escaping their family
s poverty. Although each familyis Mexican, they have their own different lifestyles: school, life
with their fathers, and adulthood. The protagonists in each story, Ricky Coronado in A
Fabricated Mexican and Angela Morales in The Girl in My Town, have many differences. While
they are both raised in immensely poor economic conditions, with many life struggles, they both
ultimately overcome their struggles and find much success. For instance, when they grow up,
they become teachers and have money. Ricky (A Fabricated Mexican) and Angela (The Girl in
My Town), both come from hard working families, but Angela s family earns more money than
does Ricky s. In the book, A Fabricated Mexican, Ricky Coronado and his family work in the
fields and earn insufficient money. In contrast, Angela Morales and her family own Raymor
Electric, her parents appliance store. The family benefits from selling appliances and earning
sufficient money. Unlike Ricky, Angela does not have to work hard.
As students, Ricky Coronado and Angela Morales experience contradiction of their school education
. According to the book, A Fabricated Mexican by Rick P. Rivera, Ricky learns to play baseballat

N-Methyl-Glutamate Carrier Protein Analysis
Overstimulation or prolonged activation of excitatory amino acid receptors is called excitotoxicity
(64, 65). Overactivation of these excitatory receptors causes opening of post synaptic ion channels
which consequently increases intracellular Ca2+ and this affects Ca2+ regulatory mechanisms.
Excitotoxicity seems to be a major contributor to many neurodegenerative disorders such as PD,
AD and HD (65, 66). Although the pivotal role of excitotoxicity in neurodegenerative disorders has
been proved, the exact mechanisms through which it promotes neurodegeneration still is unclear
and more studies are needed (67). The N methyl D aspartate (NMDA) and 2 amino 3 (3 hydroxy 5

Acidosis influences L glutamate carrier proteins and changes the 3 dimentional structure of the
transporter which may finally halt L glutamate transport (71). Furthermore, acidosis can change the
ratio of OH in to OH out. This ratio plays an important role in the L glutamate transporting system
on neurons (72) and in turn its disturbances will inhibit L glutamate (70, 73, 74). Acidosis also
stimulates L glutamate release and this stimulation may participate in the mechanisms by which
acidosis inhibits L glutamate uptake (70, 75). When the stimulation of L glutamate release and its
(re )uptake inhibition occur simultaneously, it probably leads to an increase in extracellular
glutamate which subsequently activates NMDA and AMPA receptors and cause excessive influx
of Ca2+ and excitotoxicity (69, 76) Consequently, these NMDA receptors trigger more changes in
pHi which seems to be toward acidification. Such a shift results from increases in intracellular
sodium and extracellular potassium which is mediated by NMDA receptor activation and
subsequently stimulates glycolysis in neurons (77). The mentioned pHi acidification is
accompanied by the increased production of lactate whose pathological concentrations may play a
role in NMDA receptor induced neuronal injury or death and neurodegeneration (77 80). It is
noteworthy to mention that just severe acidosis

A. Background The forces that are involve with the experiments are basically focused on the
concurrent forces. The experiment also allows us to develop the condition of balancing or
arranging the angles both sides on a force table. This laboratory experiment allows us to take the
mathematical abstraction of a vector to make it tangible as possible. This experiment will look into

II. METHODOLGY
A. Materials
ME 9447 Force Table, 3 pulleys and pulley clamps, 3 mass hangers, mass set, string, metric ruler,
protractor, 2 sheets of paper.
B. Procedure
Experimental Method
As a result of trail and error method we find the angle for the third pulley and the mass that should
had be suspended from it. This will balance the forces deployed on the strings due to the other two
masses. While the third force is defined as the equilibrant
(пїЅпїЅпїЅпїЅпїЅпїЅвѓ—пїЅпїЅпїЅпїЅпїЅпїЅ) Since it is the force that establishes the equilibrium.
It is also the negative of the resultant
We gathered and recorded the mass and the angle
required for the third pulley to enable to put the system into the equilibrium in table 1.
To enable to determine the system is in equilibrium we use the following specifications.
Ring Method of Finding Equilibrium
For this method the ring should be centered over the post when the system is in equilibrium. So
we tack the center post down so it will flush with the top surface of the force table and it will be no
longer comptent to hold the ring in the position. We also pulled the ring slightly to the one side and
release it to enable to inspect that the ring returns to the center. Then if not, adjust the mass or/and
the angle of the pulley until the ring constantly returns to the center when it is pulled slightly to one
side.

My Education
I am grateful to my parents because they made me understand that my education is the most
valuable thing I could ever have. My parents sacrificed many things for us to have a better life,
and I won t let them down. I was born in Zinapecuaro Michoacan, when I was seven years old I
came to Salinas California with all my family. I remembered when I was a child my dad used to
come every year to work on the fields. Then, he would go back each year for a short period of
time, and I was waiting for him with happiness. As I grew up I realized that my parents wanted
me to have a better life which they never had. Because my parents worked all day to bring food
to our table, my brothers and I didn t spent too much time with them like we would like. My
childhood was not easy at all, but I had the most amazing parents. Also, having their love made the
happiest girl in world because that was enough for me.
When I was a little girl I dreamed to be a doctor, but I changed my mind. Since high school I
wanted to join the military, but I could not because of my weight. So, in my second semester
during college; I decided to join the army to have a professional career and at the same time took
a break for college. For all my experiences that have happened to me; I can only say that joining
the Army was the best decision I have taken. In addition, I learned to live by the army values
which are loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage. These values

Analysis Of I Feel Rosenberg
I feel Rosenberg has done an extremely thorough job in presenting his case and disproving his
constructed opposition, but as with any writing: it is not perfect, problems are not unilateral,
and analysis will always contain some of the author s biases. The social change someone sees is
dependent on how and what they consider social progress. I think this book and the type of
critical thinking it both employes and inspires is necessary to the study of law and society, but it
is certainly not the last book that needs to be written on the subject. I see this book as at the least
being part of the groundwork for the study of modern American law, and maybe even broadening
the confines of what is seen as productive for generating change in... Show more content on

10). Rosenberg supports his claims by analyzing specific court decisions, namely Brown v. Board
of Education (1954) and Roe v. Wade(1973). Rosenberg condenses three constraints he sees on
judicial efficacy that are built into the American legal system: the limited nature of constitutional
rights, the lack of judicial independence, and the judiciary s limited enforcement powers
(Rosenberg 2008, pg. 35). Following these two major cases and their impact, Rosenberg looks
briefly at several other Court decisions involving women s rights, the environment, and criminal
rights. In all of these, he finds that his middle of the road view seems to best explain the impact
of the Court s decisions (Rosenberg 2008, pg. 420). He also argues that in these areas, especially
women s rights and environmental issues, that the reliance on the courts as opposed to political
activism may have actually harmed these causes. In Rosenberg s view these constraints are seldom
overcome, and thus courts are generally ineffective in producing major social change, but he allows
for the possibility that these constraints may be overcome under some conditions. The constraints
are overcome when there is ample legal precedent for change, when there is support for legal
change from substantial amount of the political and private elite, when there is either strong
support or weak opposition from the public, and when certain conditions otherwise support
compliance with the judicial

Healthcare is a complex business. Highly specialized knowledge is required to make life and
death decisions, in a system with many moving parts. Nurses are important in today s healthcare
system. Nurses are the largest group of healthcare workers and spend the most time direct time with
patients. Americans have identified nurses as having the highest honesty and ethical standards for
the last 14 years ( Gallop Poll, 2015). This adds up to a system and patients and a profession that
makes significant demands on today s nurses. Critical thinking and reasoninghas been identified as
an essential skill set that nurses must possess. How are nurses prepared to meet these demands and

Mezirow specifically argued the importance of feedback for reflective learning (1998). It has been
noted that an environment of trust is key to maximizing student s success in developing high level
reflective skills (Epp, 2008). Multiple studies have identified issues of trust from the student s
perspective (Landeen, Byrne, Brown, 1992, 1995, Riley Doucet Wilson, 1997). It can be that
students write what they perceive teachers want to read or in other instances that students must
have a sense that the environment and relationship between student and faculty is safe to achieve
higher levels of reflection. Indeed, in the medical student study, although the expectation was that
feedback would be at least as effective as guidelines in improving learners reflective skill, the effect
sizes were quite different. Feedback had a very small effect size whereas the use of guidelines was
larger. Even the clinical learning environment seems to impact the reflective levels of students.
When students encountered a clinical unit where there was a more welcoming, inviting and
supportive atmosphere than they had previously experienced, their journals were assessed as
having higher reflective levels and deeper thoughts. They gained more compassion and
understanding towards those with mental illness and positively transformed negative opinions
(Ross, Mahal, Chinnapen, Kolar, Woodman, 2014). This issue of trust and

A Comparison Of Life And Respiration For Speech
A Comparison of Respiration for Life and Respiration for Speech Respiration is a necessary bodily
function in sustaining life. Its basic objective is to oxygenate blood and remove carbon dioxide by
way of four stages: ventilation, distribution, perfusion, and diffusion (Seikel, Drumright, King,
2016, p. 147). Respirationis also vital to the production of speech, but the way in which respiration
occurs while producing speech is different than the process of respiration for life in a few ways.
Respiration for life is a passive process while respiration for speech is an active process, requiring
some conscious effort. During respiration for speech, the respiration cycle is altered in order to

Thoracic muscles involved in forced expiration include the interosseous portion of the internal
intercostals, innermost intercostals, transversus thoracis, subcostals, and serratus posterior inferior.
The function of the interosseous portion of the internal intercostals and the innermost intercostals is
to depress ribs 1 11. The transversus thoracis are found on the inner surface of the rib cage and
function to depress the rib cage for forced expiration. Within the inner wall of the thorax the
subcostals can be found, functioning to depress the thorax. Contraction of the serratus posterior
inferior muscles helps to pull the rib cage down, supporting expiration. Abdominal muscles of
expiration include the transversus abdominis, internal oblique abdominis, external oblique
abdominis, rectus abdominis, and quadratus lumborum. Of all the anterior abdominal muscles, the
transversus abdominis is the deepest and its function is to compress the abdomen. Positioned in
between the transversus abdominis and the external oblique abdominis, the internal oblique
abdominis rotates and flexes the trunk as well as compresses the abdomen. The most superficial
and biggest group of abdominal muscles are the external oblique abdominis. When these muscles
contract bilaterally, they flex the vertebral column and compress the abdomen. When they are
contracted unilaterally, they rotate the trunk. The rectus abdominis muscles run along the midline
of the body and are responsible for flexion of the vertebral

Group B Streptococcus Agalactiae
Group B Streptococcus agalactiae is an important Gram positive bacterial pathogen that cause a
wide variety of clinical infections, ranging from septicemia to meningitis. The reported lethality of
severe S. agalactiae infections is ranging from 4 to 6% in the United States. Of note, it has been
suggested that the incidence of neonatal disease is considerably greater than reported, because the
requirement for positive cultures from blood or cerebrospinal fluid may underestimates the true
burden of disease. Therefore, in this review I focused on virulence factors of S. agalactiae in order
to elucidate aspects of the infection.
S. agalactiae is frequently colonizes rectovaginal tract. S. agalactiae is found in 15 40% of adult
women, and there is a 1% chance to be transmitted vertically from mother to infants before or
during birth. This type of infection is divided into early onset and late onset infections. Early onset
infection, is one of the most common infection among neonates with a mortality rates of 4 to 6% in
the United States. This type of infection is characterized with shock and breathing difficulties and
occurs at birth or within the first 6 days of life. This infant probably had become infected by
ascending spread of the organism from the maternal genital tract to the amniotic fluid, in which the
bacteria colonize and multiply within the respiratory tract of the fetus and causes pneumonia. Also,

Internal Conflict In The Hunger Games
Katniss Internal Conflicts
In life there always seems to be some sort of violence and there always seems to be a good and a
bad side. Directed by Gary Ross, The Hunger Games is a movie about 24 tributes fighting to the
death for the Hunger Games crown and freedom from ever having to physically fight in the arena
again. It is a game of violence, ferocity, and blood, and only one tribute can win. Even though
stories often have a Battle between Good and Evil, it is Katniss s internal conflict confronting her
own good and evil that portrays humanity with a longing for destruction, violent inclination, and
sense of separation. When one loves a person or something dearly, then they have the tendency to
do almost anything they can to protect and save them from whatever harm they come across.
Katniss volunteered for the games knowing she was saving her sister from a terrible fate. She
made a promise that she would try her best to win the Hunger Games, but her confidence in her
own ability to kill another person was minimal. She did not want to get any blood on her hands but
knew that in order to win she would be forced to. Crispin Sartwell recognized situations like these
when he said, your goodness, like mine, has little to do with who you are and everything to do with
the social conditions you find yourself in (Sartwell). The circumstance Katniss found herself in was
full of violence, pain, and ruthlessness which further contributed to the tainting of her humanity

Conservation Status of Sumatran Species
Sumatran orangutans. Sumatran orangutans are classified as critically endangered by both the
WWF (2017a, para. 1) and on The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (Singleton, Wich,

Sumatran elephants are classified as critically endangered with an estimated population of 2,400
2,800 (Gopala et al., 2001, p.1; WWF, 2017c, para.1). The conservation status of Sumatran
elephants was changed in 2012 to critically endangered due the population halving in just one
generation (WWF, 2017c, para.4). This population loss is attributed to poaching, unauthorised
removal of elephants from the wild, human wildlife conflict and forest conversion for palm oil,
paper and pulp plantation (Gopala et al., 2001, p.4; WWF, 2017c, para.4).
Sumatran rhinos. Both the WWF (2017d, para. 1) and The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species
(van Strien et al., 2008, p. 1) categorise Sumatran rhinos as critically endangered. In 1965 the
Sumatran rhino was first classified as very rare and suspected to have a decreasing population,
then in 1986 was categorised as endangered (van Strien et al., 2008, p. 1). Following this, in 1996
the Sumatran rhino was re classified as critically endangered due to its continuous and severe
population decline (van Strien et al., 2008, p. 1). There are three subspecies of the Sumatran rhino,
one with the largest population of approximately 170 230, one within an estimated population of
50 and one which is likely to be extinct (van Strien et al., 2008, p.4). This is in line with the WWF
(2017d, para.1) which estimates a total population of 220 275. van Strien et al (2008, p.4) states that

The Apartheid Of Apartheid And Apartheid
Colonial inheritance has had a serious effect on all Africans lives and has irreversibly changed the
continent and its people forever. The impact of apartheid is evident when analyzing Mxolisi and
Nelson Mandela s lives. Both men were exposed to similar oppressive environments as they lived
in South Africaduring apartheid, though their stories show generational differences. Mandela was
an activist early in the apartheid regime and then spent a significant period of his life in jail until
the end of the regime as he took part in reassessment of apartheid and negotiations. Mxolisi was
born and raised during Apartheid and much of his experiences growing up took place while
Mandela was in jail. These two men were both victims of colonial inheritance and apartheid, which
lead them to extreme measures as they acted in protest of an oppressive government with the hope
that they might gain back power, rights, and freedom for themselves and the South African people.
Decolonization was sweeping across the African continent during the 1950 s and during this time in
South Africa, apartheid was being solidified by a white minority government. Early anti apartheid
struggles were predominantly non violent until the 1960 Sharpeville incident when police opened
fire on an unarmed group of demonstrators (Reid 292). Activists and groups such as the African
National Congress(ANC) became more violent because the government in charge was using violent

The Use Of Non Human Tests Subjects For Experimentation...
Definition
Animal testing, also known as animal experimentation, is the use of non human test subjects for
experimentation and research studies (2). This definition is very broad because it is used in
numerous fields such as drug testing, brain functionality, effects of food additives, pesticides, DNA
modification, xenotransplantation, cosmetic testing, cancer research, AIDs research and many
more. Overall, animal testing is a professional conflict, but it can also be considered as a personal
conflict whether or not you believe it is right to test on any animal for the sake of science. Types of

This is done so researchers know the exact genes or traits that the animal being tested is
exhibiting so they can control the number of possible variables that can affect their their results.
In the past, dealers were licensed by the USDA to sell animals from random sources including
animal shelters, free to a good home ads, stolen pets and some were taken completely from the
wild. This is a much less common practice because it includes variety in your animals which could
skew the researcher s results and it is frowned upon. (Source?)
However, the question remains whether it is ethical to perform research on animals that exhibit
some form of consciousness. Consciousness is a very vague term and has been defined as many
terms such as sentience, awareness of itself within its surroundings, subjectivity, having a sense of
selfhood, and the executive control system of the mind and many more vague definitions(3). It has
been known through thousands of experiments that animals from a wide range of species can
exhibit emotions such as happiness, jealousy, grief, and stress(4).
The first animal to ever ask an existential question was a Grey African Parrot by the name of
Alex. The question he asked the trainer was What color am I? and learned the meaning of grey

Active Versus Passive Learning Essays
Most students these days just think they have to go to class, pay attention, write some notes and
they will do fine. That may be true for some people but if they were to use a more active learning
approach instead of passive, they could do even better. Active learning is a learning approach that
gets the student more involved which helps lead to a better understanding and idea of the material
being learned (VickyRN, 2009). Passive learningis the common classroom learning approach
where you listen to a teacher and read information (VickyRN, 2009). If students were more aware
of the benefits of active learning and the difference between active and passive learning, they could
achieve higher academic results and may even enjoy it more. Many... Show more content on

Expert learners are people who know their learning goals and do their best to reach those goals
(O Brien Moran, 2012). They start early, come up with strategies to help them achieve their
goals and are often satisfied with their results (O Brien Moran, 2012). Novice learners however,
have no goals, they cram the night before a test and just do not give a full effort into their
learning and are usually disappointed with their results (O Brien Moran, 2012). Expert learners
often engage in self regulated learning. Someone who is a self regulated learner is said to begin
with setting goals, planning how to achieve those goals taking into account their time constraints
as well as their strength and weaknesses related to that specific learning task (O Brien Moran,
2012). Once they set their goals and have a strategy, they carry on while monitoring their results
(O Brien Moran, 2012). If their strategies are working well for them, they continue on, but if they
aren t, they adjust until they find something that works for them and helps them reach their goal
(O Brien Moran, 2012). Being an expert learner would be a great technique to use if you want to
learn more actively because it gets you more involved with your work and you are not just showing
up to class, writing some notes and never looking at them again. Another technique we have talked
about in class that would help students learn more actively is working in groups. Working

Case Study of Executive Holloware
Case of study of executive holloware
INTRODUCTION:
This document contains the case of study of Executive Holloware (EH), a company that
manufactures products that aimed at the top end of market with a commanded high price. The most
important product was the handmade silver plated tea sets.

for the company. It is also mention the main causes of the problems in the case of study, the

Quality is also specified in the internal process. This process needs to be measure and comparable
to the acceptable ranges in production to develop a product that fulfil the specifications and it also
requires the participation from everyone in the organization . (Maguad, 2006)
4. What are the underlying causes of the problems at Executive Holloware?
There are some problems presented in the EH case of study. First, the products developed by the
company are high value tea sets items, thus the necessity to maintain a standard performance to
produce a product without any defect. One cause of the problem is that there is no specific
definition of defect in the entire process. It is mentioned that the senior shop foreman does not
have a clear understanding of defect definition and this affect the correct performance of the entire
process because it represent in re working cost.
Other cause of problem is that each department does not maintain a close communication about the
relevance of the quality in the process. Paul realized that each department blame each other
regarding to the scratches and bruises of the product. Even the finance director did not has a clear
vision of the situation, therefore the lack of communication and process internal control
In the Organization, there were no specification clearly defined of quality and the metrics of quality

Analysis Of Christopher Columbus s The Dinosaurs
Richard Reyes September 29, 2017 AP Literature and Composition Period: 3 SOS LAP TOPIC #4
: Human beings did not always hold the reins as the most superior creatures in this universe. A long
time ago, the common people were inadequate specimens at the grace of the dinosaurs. Such an era
came to a staggering end from the grand celestial meteoroid which assaulted life into a different
direction. It acted as a stimulus which guided us into a contrasting atmosphere; we are

Essay about Suspenseful Plot in Wilkie Collins The Woman...
The nineteenth century mystery novel The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins excites the
reader with detailed descriptions and a suspenseful plot. The testimony of multiple characters
reveals the story of Laura Fairlie s arranged marriage to Sir Percival Glyde. Percival s friend, Count
Fosco, is at his side, and Marian Halcombe, Laura s half sister, is at her side. Walter Hartright, a
watercolor artist, finds himself residing with Laura temporarily as he is hired to teach her his art.
The two soon fall in love, changing Laura s plans to marry Percival. Through the course of the
narrative, the underlying motives and secrets of each of the characters are revealed. Some readers

Collins uses the science of first impressions to develop both Laura Fairlie and Count Fosco
before the reader. Laura s introduction is descriptive and thorough, while certain details about the
Count are withheld until much later in the narrative. Vincent Gilmore s testimony was the first to
describe the Count. In this first impression to the reader, Gilmore reveals Mr. Philip Fairlie s
opinion of the Count. Mr. Fairlie and his sister, Eleanor, were on excellent terms with each other
until she was wed with Count Fosco. He disagreed with this arrangement so much that he
withdrew all communication with his sister, even removing her from his will (Collins 149). Mr.
Gilmore reveals that Mr. Fairlie s transparent mistrust for foreigners was the cause of this, but the
mention of this situation may cause the reader to cast just a shred of doubt upon his character
(when descriptions of him are otherwise scarce). Collins has already used suspense to lay the
foundation for the Count s character. Other than the fact that he is a foreigner married to Eleanor,
the reader does not know whether or not the Count will have a substantial role in the plot, and what
exactly his purpose is for being mentioned here.
The reader does not learn anything else about this character until Marian Halcome s testimony is
presented. She asks Laura for her impression of Count Fosco, but Laura suspensively remains

The Impact Of Brexit And Some Solutions Resolve These Issues
Negative impact of Brexit and some solutions resolve these issues
Brexit is the name of the process of Britain leaving the European Union, which is the primary
concern of the modern global political situation. During the referendum on the UK membership in
the European Union, the main argument for leaving the union was that it would provide the
country with better system and tools of protection from the immigrants. UK citizen was concerned
that immigrants would bring to the country s unemployment rate, lower quality of life and other

The first and the most unfavorable outcome of Brexit is that the UK would lose the trading

Although they are intimately involved, the title character of Nabokov s Lolita never fully reveals
her true self to Humbert. Likewise, Humbert pours his physical love into Lolita, but he never
reveals to his stepdaughter a self that is separate from his obsession with her. These two characters
mask large parts of their personalities from each other and the rest of the world, creating different
images and personas in regard to different people and situations. One assumption of post

In other words, a person is formed only by their communication and interactions with other people,
and there is no concrete self, but many rambling and incoherent identities. This assumption has
three main ideas, but only two of which will be mentioned here.
The first idea is that subjects are created through their cultural meanings and practices and that they
hold many different culturally based sites of meaning that each contain a different configuration of
the self, and that also contain all the personal and societal characteristics that go along with each
self (Lye 1). This idea claims that in every situation the person develops a different and separate
self. This is true for a certain extent in speaking of Humbert and Lolita s separate personas that
emerge in different situations. They show different identities to the public, to each other, and to
themselves.
Humbert s various faces are quite different from each other. He is seen as a suave, sophisticated,
handsome man to the public, and to even his wife, Charlotte, who describes him as having a dark,

of a refined man that the people of American see in him (68). He is viewed as a devoted husband

The Persian military had greater numbers but they wouldn t back down from a fight. The
Greeks agreed that Sparta would lead them. They chose to defend a narrow pass between the
mountains of Greece and the sea. (Thermopylae). The Greeks only had 300 soldiers lead by
Leonidas (king of Sparta) and about 6000 soldiers from the Greek cities. They fought an army of

The Geography Geniuses Generated 3 Behaviorist Theory
Everybody learns in different ways, including the students sitting in the classrooms. How are
teachers going to be able to make sure every student learns? Maribel, Julianne, Michelle, Matthew,
and Ana are Geography Geniuses and are here to advise how to ensure that every student learns.
Focusing on the 3rd grade standard SS.3.G.1.1, students will use thematic maps, tables, charts,
graphs, and photos to analyze geographic information. The information being taught is declarative
because students will acquire factual knowledge and information that can be spoken about at any
time. The activities utilize hands on and drill methods with the objective that if students are shown
a blank map they will be able to recognize and recall all elements of the map automatically. Lastly,
they fit into the remember and understand levels of Bloom s Taxonomy because students will
remember locations on the map and later understand different information and landmarks embedded
in states. With all this in mind, the Geography Geniuses generated 3 behaviorist and 3 constructivist
activities that allow the students to learn and practice geographic locations.
The first activity my third grade students will learn is a constructivist activity, which promotes
active learning and learning by doing. It derives from constructivism one of Piaget s theory it is
defined as the view that meaningful learning is the active creation of knowledge instead of a
simple transfer of objective knowledge from one person to

The Importance of a Secure Energy Supply for the Future
1.1 Introduction
Secure energy supply is vital to our modern world. As the economy and world population grow,
the consumption of energy is larger than ever. Energy shortage is one of the most concerned social
and economical issues to our society. Both industrial and domestic lives rely on the energy
provided by energy sources from one form or anther. Petroleum, coal and natural gas are the most
produced and used energy sources. Mining technologies are required to obtain the raw materials of
these energy sources from nature. The energy crisis is due to the limited amount of the natural
storages of the energy resources. A higher production rate of the raw materials is desired so that
more resources can be extracted to meet the demand. There have been conventional technologies
for gas drilling for over 100 years. However the conventional method of drilling places limitations
on how much material can be extracted. Until early 1940s, a new technique of extracting oil and
natural gas was experimentally carried out and it soon became commercially implemented. This
drilling technique is commonly known as hydraulic fracturing or fracking. Fracking is widely used
in the industry, because it allows the maximum extraction of oil and gas. As of now, more than 90
percent of the natural gas mining sites in the States operates on fracking. Fracking will double the
nation s natural gas production in the next two decades. As attractive as fracking is to the energy
industry, there are side

Considering going to a virtual school? Well imagine this, you re sitting at your computer and you
pick up your phone and go onto Instagram. Your feed is blowing up with pictures from
homecoming game and dance, you feel left out seeing all your middle school friends having the
time of their lives while your stuck at home with your schoolwork. My point is students should not
go to virtual high schoolfor an abounding amount of reasons including lack of structure and social
opportunities.
Let me start off by saying virtual school has very minimal structure on students, they re allowed to
set their own schedules and students that have little or no motivation will procrastinate and push
their work off, resulting in lower work ethic coming from the student. With the little amount of
structure virtual schools give, parents will have to monitor their children more closely and
frequently. This is a major toll for parents with priorities or jobs that gather their time during the
day on top of all of this, the state curriculum has changed a multitude of times in the years. The
adults may not know how to help with the work since it s changed since they went to school, this
will make it a lot harder for the student not having anyone around to show them how the work

Introduction Abercrombie and Fitch, founded in 1892, is an American clothing company that
targets young customers. It is headquartered in New Albany, Ohio, and has over 250 locations in
the United States and is expanding internationally. Abercrombie and Fitch is a reputable apparel
and lifestyle brand. However, in the past few years, the company s image has been battered by
accusations of discrimination toward minority groups. In this report, I will describe and analyze
Abercrombie and Fitch s current CSR policies and activities, and provide recommendations to
improve the company s brand image. I will focus on the four main social responsibilities that A F
highlights, which are environmental sustainability, diversity and human rights in the employment
and its independent contractors, customer care, and the community. Environment Current CSR
Policies and Activities A F highlights its care for environmental stewardship by embracing the 3 R
s concept Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to limit the size of its carbon footprint. It maintains water
used for cooling and heating throughout its HVAC systems, which keeps its systems in top
efficiency and helps use less electricity and natural gas ( Conservation Energy Efficiency ).
Moreover, motion sensors and programmable control panels are implemented in A F s offices,
distribution centers and stores to provide significant energy savings ( Conservation Energy
Efficiency ). The company has challenged themselves to reuse and

Essay on Flannery OConnor
Flannery OConnor In her short story Everything That Rises Must Converge, Flannery O Connor
allows the story to be told from the perspective of Julian, a recent college graduate who appears to
be waiting for a job, while living at home with his mother. His relationship with his mother is rocky
at times, to say the least. It is constantly mired with conflicts about the Old South and the New
South . Julian must come to terms with himself, either he is an over protective son or just a pain in
her ass. Even though Julian seems to dislike his mother s viewpoints, he continues to depends on
her for stability . When the final confrentation between Julian s mother and the large black women
results in her having a heart attack, to which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Julian does not like his mother. To him she is an embarassment, a burden and backwards to his
new way of thinking. He himself, has learned to recognize racism, and argues against it.
However, when his mother is the instigator, the issue becomes more personal, and he defends
her. Some how like picking on my baby brother it is alright, but when someone else does it
offends me. Julian does take into account that he is educated and presumes himself to be
opposite of his mother, but he finds that it is not true, and he remains a racist. Instead of
confronting this as a problem, he seeks to belittle his mother. When the Negro women enters the
bus, he wishes she would sit beside his mother in order to disturb her. He could think of no better
arrangement . Yet to his annoyance, she squeezes herself into the seat next to him . His lack of
insight regarding their relationship is revealed when he fantasizes himself presenting his mother
with a black acquaitance: either a business associate, a lover or even the doctor he could hire to
heal her. When he asks the man with the paper for a light (he has nothing to smoke), embarrassing
himself solely to perplex her. He remains a racist not because it was instilled in him by his mother,
but because he continues to exploit the black culture for the sole purpose of changing his mother.
Julian s culture in his own mind fails because it does not touch his being.

The Impact Of Modern Campaign Finance Laws On America
Campaign Finance
Introduction:
In 2011, two sociologists named Erik Olin Wright and Joel Rogers identified five core American
values: freedom, prosperity, efficiency, fairness, and democracy (Wright and Rogers). America s
numerous ideals inevitably cause these values to come into conflict each other. Such conflict
characterizes the debate over the implications of modern campaign finance laws in America. The
Supreme Court s ruling in Citizen s United v. FEC in 2010 undid former restrictions placed on how
money can be spent on federal political campaigns. Prior restrictions like the Federal Election
Campaign Act of 1971 and its amendments in 1974, placed limitations on political donations by
Political Action Committees (PACs), political parties, and even individuals. Originally these
restrictions were put in place to deter corruption that could undermine the democracy inherent in US
values and elections. The Supreme Court s ruling in 2010 revolutionized the scene by declaring that
independent expenditures are protected by the first amendment to the US Constitution. They
further asserted that for all intents and purposes corporations are legally viewed synonymous with
people in terms of political spending. The Supreme Court s ruling emphasized equality and
freedom, but at what cost? Critics, like Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, suggest at the cost of
democracy, and ultimately corporate interests diminishing freedom in the long run. As a result of
this case, more money is now

Contributions Of Sir Robert Peel
1. Who is Sir Robert Peel? What contributions did he make to law enforcement?
Sir Robert Peel was known as the father of modern policing for drafting the Act for refining the
police force that resided in the Metropolis which was passed in 1829; this bill was called the
Metropolitan Police Act. According to Dempsey and Forst (2016, p.7), His link to policing comes
from his influence in getting the police bill passed. The early London police were guided by Peel s
Nine Principles. Sir Robert s contribution to compose a bill later brought about the idea that United
States policing to be similar to Peels English model.
2. What was the first federal law enforcement agency? What were its duties?
The first federal Law Enforcement agency was created in 1838 in Boston. The force was not fully
uniformed until 1859 wearing blue jackets and white hats consisting of only eight members. Their
duties until 1853 were maintaining public health. According to Dempsey and Forst(2016, p. 10), In

The responsibility is left with the officers to fulfill, but the authority lies with the superintendent to
give orders and assume compliance from their officers. According to Dempsey and Forst (2016, p.

authority to control, command, make decisions, or otherwise act in order to complete the tasks that
have been delegated or assigned to them.
Unity of command: Each individual in any specific category can only have one superintendent;
This can only be violated in emergency circumstances. According to Dempsey and Forst (2016, p.

time. Even in large organizations, this principle holds

Columbine High School Shooting Research Papers
Columbine School Shooting It s difficult to believe that two high school students could enter
their school and begin firing on classmates, but that s exactly what happened at Columbine. The
country was riveted by the news that something so evil could happen by two of their own.
Columbine High School, located in Littleton, Colorado, had an enrollment of 1,136 in April
1999. Eric Harris (seventeen) and Dylan Klebold (eighteen) entered Columbine High School on

The Shia Branch
Last but not least is a religion that has about one point five billion followers and is the purest of
the western monotheisms, Islam. Most of the people who follow Islam are located in Indonesia.
The meaning of Islam stands for submission, in Islam people are too submit themselves to God.
Islam is monotheistic because they believe in one God, which Allah is believed to be the God
while a man named Muhammadis Gods prophet. Muhammad was known to spread the message
of monotheism while many people were still polytheistic. He fled to to a city called Medina to
escape persecution. This was a huge event for the religion and was the start of the first year of the

What I mean when I say totally different is that the Sunni branch is more optimistic while the Shia
branch leans more towards pessimism. The Sunni branch is the largest and it takes up about eighty
five percent of Muslims leaving the Shia branch with only fifteen percent. The main issue of the
branches is that they didn t both agree on who should lead the community after Muhammad passed.
The Sunni branch believed it should have been a group decision on who takes charge next, while
the Shia did not agree with that and they thought that it should have went to Muhammad s cousin,
Ali. The Shia is also all about free will and symbolism rather than determinism and literal attributes
like Sunni. Its hard to believe groups like Al Qaeda that committed the nine eleven terrorism
attacks are apart of the Sunni branch and not the Shia since we consider these attacks harshly
negative and definitely not positive. Not all Muslims are terrorists though, that was just one
example of the two different branches of Islam that I discussed. Above are the most important
factors that influence the religion of Islam and the way of life of the Muslim

The Character of the Husband in Raymond Carver s Story...
The Character of the Husband in Raymond Carver s Story Cathedral
In Raymond Carver s Cathedral, the husband s view of blind men is changed when he encounters
his wife s long time friend, Robert. His narrow minded views and prejudice thoughts of one
stereotype are altered by a single experience he has with Robert. The husband is changed when he
thinks he personally sees the blind man s world. Somehow, the blind man breaks through all of the
husband s jealousy, incompetence for discernment, and prejudgments in a single moment of
understanding.
From the beginning of his tale, the husband is quite bland on the subject of love. This is present
when he tells the part about his wife s first husband, even going as far as to say the ... Show more

His jealousy of Robert does become clear when the after dinner conversation never turns to the
husband:
For the most part, I just listened. . . they talked of things that had happened to them to them! these
past ten years. I waited in vain to hear my name on my wife s sweet lips: And then my dear
husband came into my life something like that. But I heard nothing of the sort. More talk of Robert.
(351 352)
When the conversation has turned to him, he realizes how more bland the topic is and turns the
television on for entertainment, even though he knows he is being rude.
The husband first begins to open up to Robert when he watches with admiration as the blind man
eats his food. He begins to see Robert as an independent man that has learned to live life despite
his disability. There is a moment of connection when they all three finally begin the meal and he
describes them as if they were all the same, eating the same way, intently and seriously (351). The
husband asks to share a joint with Robert when his wife is not present, showing an indication of
trust or maybe cockiness (352). Though shocked of her husband s actions, the wife joins in when
she returns. When the wife has passed out between them, he commences to enjoying Robert s
presence. When Robert wishes to stay up with him, listening to the television, the husband makes

Rupert Brooke and Wilfred Owen
Rupert Brooke and Wilfred Owen
Since the threat of war in some part of the world everyday and because of the colossal impact that
it has had on our lives, it doesn t seem surprising that it is a popular theme of poetry. Sonnets are
an extremely passionate form of poetry, used to show how the poet feels in their heart; both Rupert
Brooke and Wilfred Owen create this passion in excellent, but very different ways. Anthem for
Doomed
Youth by Wilfred Owen is a Shakespearean sonnetreflecting on the callous life at war. Owen wrote
this poem during his four months at
Craiglockhart, a war hospital, whilst recovering from trench fever.

Made up of an octave and a sestet, the first stanza follows the
Shakespearean sonnet form, whereas the second follows the Petrarchan sonnet pattern. Together
the two stanzas invite the reader to visualize the prominence of the deceased soldier. Combining
England s traditions, legacy and his patriotism, Brooke talks of the place where he will spend his
after life which is a cross between England and heaven. There is not as much of a connection
between the poet and reader in Brooke s sonnet as he is addressing you If I should die, think only
this of me . I prefer the way in which Owen gets the reader interested by getting them to question
their thoughts.
In parts of the poem I feel that Brooke is just an arrogant man;
That there s some corner of a foreign field
That is forever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
With this, Brooke makes it apparent that he believes that wherever he is buried will become
purer as his English body shall turn to dust and become a part of it. I find this overly intense and
I am almost disgusted, as I find it hard to believe that someone could feel so superior by merely
being English. Although Owen s poem is also very intense I find it easier to understand his
thought process and can read it in agreement. Whilst saying this, in Brooke s case, it may just be
ignorance and he could quite easily be excused due to the fact

Types Of Local Governments From The United States
Module 6: Institutions of Local Government Jim McGrath Bowling Green State University
Abstract Describe some of the different types of local governments found in the United States.
Why are there so many local governments in the United States Are some types more effective than
other types? According to the text, why is the idea of Regionalism a good one? Is Dillon s rule a
good idea? Why or Why not? INSTITUTIONS OF LOCAL GOVERNEMT All states institute
actions by which local governments are produced, through their laws or constitutions. (Zimmerman
1983) Most are created through state statutes, allowing citizens in a geographic area who require
local services; others are created by state action called charters. The U.S. Census Bureau developed
two classifications for local government, General Purpose and Special Purpose. General Purpose
local governments are identified as counties, municipalities, and townships. Special Purpose
Governments include special districts and school districts. Counties (US Census n.d.) Organized
local governments authorized in state constitutions and statutes, providing general government.
3031counties in 48 states utilize county governments (excludes CT. RI. and DC.) Louisiana uses
the term Parish and Alaska uses the term Borough . Primary concerns for service delivery are
inconsistent from county to county, as well as the size and number. Generally they have more

Analysis Of Frederick Jackson s Turner Frontier Thesis
After the Civil War, America experienced a vast change with the influx of foreigners. Many
believed that America was filled with multiple opportunities that could transform their lives.
However, due to mass immigration many were forced to face injustices, overcrowding, as well as
questioning their identity. Riis and Turner were both concerned with the influx of immigrants and
how the increase of people affected the American land. In Frederick Jackson s Turner frontier
thesis, he describes how important the frontier is to the development of America and how it
allowed many to obtain a new life. He describes how Americans have managed to transform the
wilderness little by little and making this new land their home, Little by little he transforms the
wilderness, but the outcome is not the old Europe, not simply the development of Germanic
germs...The fact is that here is a new product that is American . The frontier thesis is also used to
describe the individuality of America and prove that it is an independent country that no longer has
ties with other nations as well as making it clear that America is unique in its own way. Westward
expansion offered many the opportunity to re identify themselves and create a nation that offered a
new form of American life.
The Frontier thesis emphasizes that Americans are now free from European powers by stating that,
In another way the advance of the frontier decreased our dependence on England . Americans were
now using their skills and

The Lesson From The Mentor
Whenever there is a civil rights movement going on, there are always 3 parties involved. One the
Oppressor, second the Oppressed and lastly the Activist or the Mentor. The Activists usually always
emerges from the Oppressed. That is when the Oppressed intellectuals feel that it s time to standup
to defend the identity of their people and make them strong enough to make a name of their own.
This is what happened during the early 20th century within the African American community. They
were racially termed as Negros meaning blacks. And were separated from the mainstream white
American society with the Powerful class denying their rights for equal opportunities in basically
every field of life. This paved way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And give them an understanding of how the world sees them and how they should create a good
life on their own. For instance when she asked them to pay to the taxi cab driver along with a
10% tip, this shows that she wanted them to learn to calculate. And by firing away questions
and trying to make them share their views about the happenings in the toy store on the high
profile FIFTH AVE. which was for the upper white class (where she took them to show the
disparity and learn), she wanted them to realize that injustice is done towards them and they
should learn to live to live on their own and earn respect. Not all is gone in vain (referring to Sylvia
s and other kids cold responses) and Ms Moore is delighted by Sugar s response.
You know, Miss Moore, I don t think all of us here put together eat in a year what that sailboat
costs. And Miss Moore lights up like somebody goosed her. And? she say, urging Sugar on.
Imagine for a minute what kind of society it is in which some people can spend on a toy what it
would cost to feed a family of six or seven. What do you think? (Bambara 99).
Giving us the idea that intelligence and awareness exists everywhere, it just needs to be awakened
just like Ms. Moore did. Introduction of the side characters shows us that Bambara tries her best to
tell the readers that the children of the African American community are as normal as they are.

I have actually been trying for a while. I was taking some meds that made me gain like 5lb a

  • 3. Identity And Discrimination In Rudali Review a work of fiction that helped/challenged/encouraged you to reflect on questions of identity and discrimination . The work of fiction that challenged and encouraged my perceptions on identity and discrimination is a piece of short fiction called Rudali , written in Bengali by Mahasweta Devi and translated to English by Anjum Katyal. This text serves as an epitome of class, caste and gender subalternity in the historic context of brahmanical patriarchy. The protagonist individualises the discrimination exerted on low caste communities via the triple oppression faced by them under these structures of society (i.e caste, class and gender) and tries to subvert these hegemonic structures from within. The title of the book, Rudali ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although in many ways this text can be seen as a radical feminist text, but Devi dismisses the idea as she is not a feminist. She feels that it is a mere coincidence that some professions are gendered and doesn t regard women as a separate entity but treats their oppression as linked to a wider oppressive structure controlled by caste. She thinks that to ignore the latter in the shadow of the former, is a denial of history . But Usha Ganguli in her introductory text Metamorphosis of Rudali presents a different view and says that in many ways this could be read as an enabling feminist text with the empowerement of Sanichri, the bonding between the two characters, the importance given to household chores, the common experiences of discrimination of women along class lines and the rare sensitivity expressed by the author towards women in general. Through this novella, Devi discusses and rethinks questions of class, caste and gender and how such structures affect women by giving a powerful voice to the gendered subaltern and thus rescuing them from the dark recesses of third world ... Now, in the movie Baymax saves the world and helps people with holograms of their medical history. When activated, Baymax will do a full body scan and show the patient, through a hologram, their current medical condition. Baymax may be considered only a fictional character and not a possible reality, but a professor at Carnegie Mellon is working to make a real life Baymax (Szondy 1). Having a personal care specialist that can follow you around may seem unnecessary, but the truth is there are many benefits such as cancer detection, detection in extreme fluctuation in blood pressure or cholesterol, simple cuts and/or bruises, etc. By inventing a Baymax, together, we can protect people. According to the World Health Organization, cancer is the fifth leading cause of death (WHO 1). 12.7 million people discover they have cancer annually and 7.6 million die from it (Huffington Post 1). Those numbers are not a total from throughout time; those are annual. Along with the 12.7 million people who are able to discover the cancer, there are millions that die because they had cancer that was undiagnosed. How does modern medical technology miss cancer? • 6. Essay Bismarck Claims The Credit For German Unification Bismarck Claims The Credit For German Unification In the early 19th Century, the growth of nationalism and the growing economic strength of the German states was very great. The German s shared a common identity in the form of language race and heritage such as music, literature and poetry. The growing improvements in communications and transport also brought the states one step closer together. The reduction of the number of German states from 365 to 39 states made each state more economically and militarily stronger. Conditions, particularly economic conditions, were such in 1862 that Bismarck was able to build on them and gain the credit for their successes. Although Unification arguably ... In the 1840 s military manoeuvres and political decisions made by the French which seemed threatening to the Germans provoked strong reactions from many of the Germans leading to a growth in nationalism and the creation of nationalistic songs, sung by the German troops such as, The watch on the Rhine . The revolutions, which took place in France, Italy and the Austrian Empire along with the fall of prince Metternicht, encouraged the German nationalists who longed for a unified Germany. The middle classes also pressed for political reform. Revolts in Prussia caused the king to create a Prussian national assembly, which in the end failed due to lack of strong leadership and right wing oppositions to the collapse of the assembly. • 9. N-Methyl-Glutamate Carrier Protein Analysis Overstimulation or prolonged activation of excitatory amino acid receptors is called excitotoxicity (64, 65). Overactivation of these excitatory receptors causes opening of post synaptic ion channels which consequently increases intracellular Ca2+ and this affects Ca2+ regulatory mechanisms. Excitotoxicity seems to be a major contributor to many neurodegenerative disorders such as PD, AD and HD (65, 66). Although the pivotal role of excitotoxicity in neurodegenerative disorders has been proved, the exact mechanisms through which it promotes neurodegeneration still is unclear and more studies are needed (67). The N methyl D aspartate (NMDA) and 2 amino 3 (3 hydroxy 5 methylisoxazol 4 yl) propionate (AMPA) subtypes are the main determinants,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Acidosis influences L glutamate carrier proteins and changes the 3 dimentional structure of the transporter which may finally halt L glutamate transport (71). Furthermore, acidosis can change the ratio of OH in to OH out. This ratio plays an important role in the L glutamate transporting system on neurons (72) and in turn its disturbances will inhibit L glutamate (70, 73, 74). Acidosis also stimulates L glutamate release and this stimulation may participate in the mechanisms by which acidosis inhibits L glutamate uptake (70, 75). When the stimulation of L glutamate release and its (re )uptake inhibition occur simultaneously, it probably leads to an increase in extracellular glutamate which subsequently activates NMDA and AMPA receptors and cause excessive influx of Ca2+ and excitotoxicity (69, 76) Consequently, these NMDA receptors trigger more changes in pHi which seems to be toward acidification. Such a shift results from increases in intracellular sodium and extracellular potassium which is mediated by NMDA receptor activation and subsequently stimulates glycolysis in neurons (77). The mentioned pHi acidification is accompanied by the increased production of lactate whose pathological concentrations may play a role in NMDA receptor induced neuronal injury or death and neurodegeneration (77 80). It is noteworthy to mention that just severe acidosis ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My parents sacrificed many things for us to have a better life, and I won t let them down. I was born in Zinapecuaro Michoacan, when I was seven years old I came to Salinas California with all my family. I remembered when I was a child my dad used to come every year to work on the fields. Then, he would go back each year for a short period of time, and I was waiting for him with happiness. As I grew up I realized that my parents wanted me to have a better life which they never had. Because my parents worked all day to bring food to our table, my brothers and I didn t spent too much time with them like we would like. My childhood was not easy at all, but I had the most amazing parents. Also, having their love made the happiest girl in world because that was enough for me. So, in my second semester during college; I decided to join the army to have a professional career and at the same time took a break for college. • 13. Analysis Of I Feel Rosenberg I feel Rosenberg has done an extremely thorough job in presenting his case and disproving his constructed opposition, but as with any writing: it is not perfect, problems are not unilateral, and analysis will always contain some of the author s biases. The social change someone sees is dependent on how and what they consider social progress. I think this book and the type of critical thinking it both employes and inspires is necessary to the study of law and society, but it is certainly not the last book that needs to be written on the subject. I see this book as at the least being part of the groundwork for the study of modern American law, and maybe even broadening the confines of what is seen as productive for generating change in... Rosenberg condenses three constraints he sees on judicial efficacy that are built into the American legal system: the limited nature of constitutional rights, the lack of judicial independence, and the judiciary s limited enforcement powers (Rosenberg 2008, pg. 35). Following these two major cases and their impact, Rosenberg looks briefly at several other Court decisions involving women s rights, the environment, and criminal rights. In all of these, he finds that his middle of the road view seems to best explain the impact of the Court s decisions (Rosenberg 2008, pg. 420). He also argues that in these areas, especially women s rights and environmental issues, that the reliance on the courts as opposed to political activism may have actually harmed these causes. In Rosenberg s view these constraints are seldom overcome, and thus courts are generally ineffective in producing major social change, but he allows for the possibility that these constraints may be overcome under some conditions. The constraints are overcome when there is ample legal precedent for change, when there is support for legal change from substantial amount of the political and private elite, when there is either strong support or weak opposition from the public, and when certain conditions otherwise support compliance with the judicial ... Mezirow specifically argued the importance of feedback for reflective learning (1998). It has been noted that an environment of trust is key to maximizing student s success in developing high level reflective skills (Epp, 2008). Multiple studies have identified issues of trust from the student s perspective (Landeen, Byrne, Brown, 1992, 1995, Riley Doucet Wilson, 1997). It can be that students write what they perceive teachers want to read or in other instances that students must have a sense that the environment and relationship between student and faculty is safe to achieve higher levels of reflection. Indeed, in the medical student study, although the expectation was that feedback would be at least as effective as guidelines in improving learners reflective skill, the effect sizes were quite different. Feedback had a very small effect size whereas the use of guidelines was larger. Even the clinical learning environment seems to impact the reflective levels of students. When students encountered a clinical unit where there was a more welcoming, inviting and supportive atmosphere than they had previously experienced, their journals were assessed as having higher reflective levels and deeper thoughts. They gained more compassion and understanding towards those with mental illness and positively transformed negative opinions (Ross, Mahal, Chinnapen, Kolar, Woodman, 2014). Its basic objective is to oxygenate blood and remove carbon dioxide by way of four stages: ventilation, distribution, perfusion, and diffusion (Seikel, Drumright, King, 2016, p. 147). Respirationis also vital to the production of speech, but the way in which respiration occurs while producing speech is different than the process of respiration for life in a few ways. Group B Streptococcus Agalactiae Group B Streptococcus agalactiae is an important Gram positive bacterial pathogen that cause a wide variety of clinical infections, ranging from septicemia to meningitis. The reported lethality of severe S. agalactiae infections is ranging from 4 to 6% in the United States. Of note, it has been suggested that the incidence of neonatal disease is considerably greater than reported, because the requirement for positive cultures from blood or cerebrospinal fluid may underestimates the true burden of disease. Therefore, in this review I focused on virulence factors of S. agalactiae in order to elucidate aspects of the infection. S. agalactiae is frequently colonizes rectovaginal tract. S. agalactiae is found in 15 40% of adult women, and there is a 1% chance to be transmitted vertically from mother to infants before or during birth. This type of infection is divided into early onset and late onset infections. Early onset infection, is one of the most common infection among neonates with a mortality rates of 4 to 6% in the United States. This type of infection is characterized with shock and breathing difficulties and occurs at birth or within the first 6 days of life. This infant probably had become infected by ascending spread of the organism from the maternal genital tract to the amniotic fluid, in which the bacteria colonize and multiply within the respiratory tract of the fetus and causes pneumonia. • 17. Internal Conflict In The Hunger Games Katniss Internal Conflicts In life there always seems to be some sort of violence and there always seems to be a good and a bad side. Directed by Gary Ross, The Hunger Games is a movie about 24 tributes fighting to the death for the Hunger Games crown and freedom from ever having to physically fight in the arena again. It is a game of violence, ferocity, and blood, and only one tribute can win. Even though stories often have a Battle between Good and Evil, it is Katniss s internal conflict confronting her own good and evil that portrays humanity with a longing for destruction, violent inclination, and sense of separation. When one loves a person or something dearly, then they have the tendency to do almost anything they can to protect and save them from whatever harm they come across. Katniss volunteered for the games knowing she was saving her sister from a terrible fate. She made a promise that she would try her best to win the Hunger Games, but her confidence in her own ability to kill another person was minimal. She did not want to get any blood on her hands but knew that in order to win she would be forced to. Crispin Sartwell recognized situations like these when he said, your goodness, like mine, has little to do with who you are and everything to do with the social conditions you find yourself in (Sartwell). The circumstance Katniss found herself in was full of violence, pain, and ruthlessness which further contributed to the tainting of her humanity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. The Apartheid Of Apartheid And Apartheid Colonial inheritance has had a serious effect on all Africans lives and has irreversibly changed the continent and its people forever. The impact of apartheid is evident when analyzing Mxolisi and Nelson Mandela s lives. Both men were exposed to similar oppressive environments as they lived in South Africaduring apartheid, though their stories show generational differences. Mandela was an activist early in the apartheid regime and then spent a significant period of his life in jail until the end of the regime as he took part in reassessment of apartheid and negotiations. Mxolisi was born and raised during Apartheid and much of his experiences growing up took place while Mandela was in jail. These two men were both victims of colonial inheritance and apartheid, which lead them to extreme measures as they acted in protest of an oppressive government with the hope that they might gain back power, rights, and freedom for themselves and the South African people. Decolonization was sweeping across the African continent during the 1950 s and during this time in South Africa, apartheid was being solidified by a white minority government. Early anti apartheid struggles were predominantly non violent until the 1960 Sharpeville incident when police opened fire on an unarmed group of demonstrators (Reid 292). Activists and groups such as the African National Congress(ANC) became more violent because the government in charge was using violent means to control them and their ... • 20. The Use Of Non Human Tests Subjects For Experimentation... Definition Animal testing, also known as animal experimentation, is the use of non human test subjects for experimentation and research studies (2). This definition is very broad because it is used in numerous fields such as drug testing, brain functionality, effects of food additives, pesticides, DNA modification, xenotransplantation, cosmetic testing, cancer research, AIDs research and many more. Overall, animal testing is a professional conflict, but it can also be considered as a personal conflict whether or not you believe it is right to test on any animal for the sake of science. However, the question remains whether it is ethical to perform research on animals that exhibit some form of consciousness. Consciousness is a very vague term and has been defined as many terms such as sentience, awareness of itself within its surroundings, subjectivity, having a sense of selfhood, and the executive control system of the mind and many more vague definitions(3). It has been known through thousands of experiments that animals from a wide range of species can exhibit emotions such as happiness, jealousy, grief, and stress(4). That may be true for some people but if they were to use a more active learning approach instead of passive, they could do even better. Active learning is a learning approach that gets the student more involved which helps lead to a better understanding and idea of the material being learned (VickyRN, 2009). Passive learningis the common classroom learning approach where you listen to a teacher and read information (VickyRN, 2009). They start early, come up with strategies to help them achieve their goals and are often satisfied with their results (O Brien Moran, 2012). Novice learners however, have no goals, they cram the night before a test and just do not give a full effort into their learning and are usually disappointed with their results (O Brien Moran, 2012). Expert learners often engage in self regulated learning. Someone who is a self regulated learner is said to begin with setting goals, planning how to achieve those goals taking into account their time constraints as well as their strength and weaknesses related to that specific learning task (O Brien Moran, 2012). Once they set their goals and have a strategy, they carry on while monitoring their results (O Brien Moran, 2012). If their strategies are working well for them, they continue on, but if they aren t, they adjust until they find something that works for them and helps them reach their goal (O Brien Moran, 2012). Being an expert learner would be a great technique to use if you want to learn more actively because it gets you more involved with your work and you are not just showing up to class, writing some notes and never looking at them again. As the economy and world population grow, the consumption of energy is larger than ever. Energy shortage is one of the most concerned social and economical issues to our society. Both industrial and domestic lives rely on the energy provided by energy sources from one form or anther. Petroleum, coal and natural gas are the most produced and used energy sources. Mining technologies are required to obtain the raw materials of these energy sources from nature. The energy crisis is due to the limited amount of the natural storages of the energy resources. A higher production rate of the raw materials is desired so that more resources can be extracted to meet the demand. There have been conventional technologies for gas drilling for over 100 years. However the conventional method of drilling places limitations on how much material can be extracted. Until early 1940s, a new technique of extracting oil and natural gas was experimentally carried out and it soon became commercially implemented. The Passion and Oppression of the Scaffold A motif is a recurring subject, theme, idea, etc., especially in a literary, artistic,or musical work. A scaffold is an elevated platform on which a criminal is executed that was used in the olden days as a site of public shaming. It was, in short, the platform of the pillory...punishment to do. (Chapter 2). The scaffold scenes in the Scarlet Letter seem to be the most significant motifs in the novel. First off, the dominant symbol, scarlet letter A, and all of the main characters, Hester Prynne, Arthur Dimmesdale, Pearl, and Roger Chillingworth, are present at each scaffold scene. The location of the scenes in the text also provides a relevance to the novel: the first scene is in the first third... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dimmesdale is on the verge of dying at any moment, but he does not want to die without letting out the truth. He tries to confess his sin in a sermon, but it just makes the townspeople love him more. Finally he resorts to revealing his scarlet letter A chest to the public and calling upon Hester and Pearl to stand with him on the scaffold, Hester, said he, Come hither! Come, my little Pearl! . Dimmesdale is so weak, dim, and fragile that he requests help from Hester to carry him up to the scaffold. Chillingworth is still a psychotic fiend, but he can no longer wish any harm upon Dimmesdale because his life has basically hit rock bottom, sick, dying, unforgiven sinner, and lier for years. Therefore, without any more purpose in life, Chillingworth ultimately ends up withering and dying. In this scene, as in the other two scaffold scenes, all of the main characters are present, and the key symbols of the scarlet letter, the scaffold, the symbol of Church and State, Pearl, and the meteor are all involved at one point or ... His relationship with his mother is rocky at times, to say the least. It is constantly mired with conflicts about the Old South and the New South . Julian must come to terms with himself, either he is an over protective son or just a pain in her ass. Julian does not like his mother. To him she is an embarassment, a burden and backwards to his new way of thinking. He himself, has learned to recognize racism, and argues against it. However, when his mother is the instigator, the issue becomes more personal, and he defends her. Some how like picking on my baby brother it is alright, but when someone else does it offends me. Julian does take into account that he is educated and presumes himself to be opposite of his mother, but he finds that it is not true, and he remains a racist. Instead of confronting this as a problem, he seeks to belittle his mother. When the Negro women enters the bus, he wishes she would sit beside his mother in order to disturb her. He could think of no better arrangement . Yet to his annoyance, she squeezes herself into the seat next to him . His lack of insight regarding their relationship is revealed when he fantasizes himself presenting his mother with a black acquaitance: either a business associate, a lover or even the doctor he could hire to heal her. When he asks the man with the paper for a light (he has nothing to smoke), embarrassing himself solely to perplex her. He remains a racist not because it was instilled in him by his mother, but because he continues to exploit the black culture for the sole purpose of changing his mother. • 42. The Impact Of Modern Campaign Finance Laws On America Campaign Finance Introduction: In 2011, two sociologists named Erik Olin Wright and Joel Rogers identified five core American values: freedom, prosperity, efficiency, fairness, and democracy (Wright and Rogers). America s numerous ideals inevitably cause these values to come into conflict each other. Such conflict characterizes the debate over the implications of modern campaign finance laws in America. The Supreme Court s ruling in Citizen s United v. FEC in 2010 undid former restrictions placed on how money can be spent on federal political campaigns. Prior restrictions like the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 and its amendments in 1974, placed limitations on political donations by Political Action Committees (PACs), political parties, and even individuals. Originally these restrictions were put in place to deter corruption that could undermine the democracy inherent in US values and elections. The Supreme Court s ruling in 2010 revolutionized the scene by declaring that independent expenditures are protected by the first amendment to the US Constitution. They further asserted that for all intents and purposes corporations are legally viewed synonymous with people in terms of political spending. The Supreme Court s ruling emphasized equality and freedom, but at what cost? Critics, like Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, suggest at the cost of democracy, and ultimately corporate interests diminishing freedom in the long run. As a result of this case, more money is now ... The Sunni branch is the largest and it takes up about eighty five percent of Muslims leaving the Shia branch with only fifteen percent. The Sunni branch believed it should have been a group decision on who takes charge next, while the Shia did not agree with that and they thought that it should have went to Muhammad s cousin, Ali. The Shia is also all about free will and symbolism rather than determinism and literal attributes like Sunni. Rupert Brooke and Wilfred Owen Rupert Brooke and Wilfred Owen Since the threat of war in some part of the world everyday and because of the colossal impact that it has had on our lives, it doesn t seem surprising that it is a popular theme of poetry. Sonnets are an extremely passionate form of poetry, used to show how the poet feels in their heart; both Rupert Brooke and Wilfred Owen create this passion in excellent, but very different ways. Anthem for Doomed Youth by Wilfred Owen is a Shakespearean sonnetreflecting on the callous life at war. Made up of an octave and a sestet, the first stanza follows the Shakespearean sonnet form, whereas the second follows the Petrarchan sonnet pattern. Together the two stanzas invite the reader to visualize the prominence of the deceased soldier. Combining England s traditions, legacy and his patriotism, Brooke talks of the place where he will spend his after life which is a cross between England and heaven. There is not as much of a connection between the poet and reader in Brooke s sonnet as he is addressing you If I should die, think only this of me . I prefer the way in which Owen gets the reader interested by getting them to question their thoughts. In parts of the poem I feel that Brooke is just an arrogant man; That there s some corner of a foreign field That is forever England. There shall be In that rich earth a richer dust concealed; With this, Brooke makes it apparent that he believes that wherever he is buried will become purer as his English body shall turn to dust and become a part of it. I find this overly intense and I am almost disgusted, as I find it hard to believe that someone could feel so superior by merely being English. Although Owen s poem is also very intense I find it easier to understand his thought process and can read it in agreement. Whilst saying this, in Brooke s case, it may just be ignorance and he could quite easily be excused due to the fact ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Zimmerman 1983) Most are created through state statutes, allowing citizens in a geographic area who require local services; others are created by state action called charters. The U.S. Census Bureau developed two classifications for local government, General Purpose and Special Purpose. He describes how Americans have managed to transform the wilderness little by little and making this new land their home, Little by little he transforms the wilderness, but the outcome is not the old Europe, not simply the development of Germanic germs...The fact is that here is a new product that is American .
