Abstract
Justice System in Egypt and the United States are similar in many ways. Egypt Justice System

The Egyptians had harsh punishments for breaking the law. The laws were based on common
sense view of right and wrong. It depended on which crime the criminal did to figure out which
punishment they would receive. Not only would it disgrace them, but it would disgrace their whole
family.
Now, Egypt uses criminal codes. The criminal codes listed three main categories of crime: minor
offenses, misdemeanors, and felonies. Lower courts handled the majority of these cases. Capitol
crimes that carried a possible death sentence includes murder, manslaughter, arson or the uses of
explosives that caused death, rape, treason, and endangerment of state security. In Egypt few
convictions for capital crimes, however, resulted in execution.
Egypt laws required that a detained person be brought before a magistrate and formally charged
within 48 hours or released. The accused are entitled to post bail and had the right to defended by
legal counsel. Searches can not be conducted without a warrant.
The justice system in the United States is one of the most unique in the world. It consists of two
separate levels of courts, state and federal.. Most of the laws that govern our day to day living are
state laws; violations of federal law include offenses involving federal government employees,
kidnapping or evading arrest, and fraud such as income tax or postal fraud.
There are two types of trials: criminal and civil. In a

The Pros And Cons Of Uniforms In Schools
School uniforms: a debate that has been tossed back and forth for years now. The percentage of
schools that necessitate uniforms and the percentage of the ones that do not are approximately
equal. This conveys a dispute that is difficult to find a definite solution for, due to the ambiguous
negatives and positives being drawn between both arguments. Uniforms being a part of school
systems became widespread first after Long Beach, California implemented them into their
elementary and middle schools. It is safe to say that since then, schools have become far more
lenient with what restrictions students have when it comes to uniforms. However, some others
disagree with the policies on uniforms, believing that they obstruct on children s... Show more

It creates a unified community that has no economic or social barriers relating to clothing. To
empathize the point being made, it should be known that hectoring youth can lead to both physical
and emotional stress, depression, and in extreme cases, even death. When the threats of bullying are
so prominent in a teenager s life, precautions must be made.
Accepting uniforms in a school will help it present itself in a more professional and safe manner.
For instance, if someone were to come up to the school requesting entrance wearing clothing
previously banned, it would be a cause for suspicion. This could assist schools in being more
efficient in the event of a lockdown or emergency. Meanwhile, schools are still being regularly
threatened to date; a study states
In addition, school uniforms are generally a benefit for parents, economically. With uniforms
having the same style every year, albeit with occasional leniencies, there is not much cause for
buying new uniforms yearly besides from a child growing. Without a school uniform, teenagers
quickly tire of what they wear to school and want to get new clothes around every month. This is
due to students wanting to stay with the times and the latest trends. In the logic of the adolescent
mind, if you have the latest clothes, then it will boost your reputation and status on the school map,
and so a time consuming cycle is forged. This would cost the parents more of their salary that could
be better spent on

Induction And Hypnotic Induction
Prior to going directly to the hypnotic induction techniques, it is necessary to know the meaning
of the word induction , and its usage and application in the field of hypnotism; therefore, one
definition was chosen how this word is used in psychology and hypnotism. The Cambridge
Dictionary of Psychology (Matsumoto, 2009) defines the word induction as A form of logical
reasoning in which general principles are inferred from multiple observation , But in term of
psychology it defines the word as Any act or process of bringing about a change, as of inducing a
person into the military, putting someone into a hypnotic state, or producing and electrical current
in a wire .
How Induction works in Hypnosis?

inductions, but five induction techniques are very common practices. The five common inductions
are (West 2014): four step induction, eye fixation technique, arm drop technique, progressive
relaxation technique, and imagery techniques. In contrast, Dahl (1994: 82) says that there are two
types of hypnotic inductions techniques authoritarian induction and permissive induction style. He
explains that authoritarian induction technique is a powerful, strong, and commanding style, in
contrast, permissive induction technique is a softer spoken, and persuasive

David Bordwell s Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
While the films of classical Hollywood differ in various aspects, there is a unifying style that
allows one to look at each film as a piece in a larger picture. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, a 1958 film
directed by Richard Brooks and based on a play of Tennessee Williams, remains conservative
throughout which makes it an ideal film to look at to understand the paradigms, as David Bordwell
would put it, that ultimately determined the way in which Hollywoodfilms were made. Bordwell
uses three different levels of generality to describe the common elements among Classical
Hollywood films. The first level, devices, is primarily about the technical aspects of the film and
deals with the use of common cinematic conventions such as dramatic... Show more content on

It is also the longest shot of the scene at about a minute and thirty seconds in length and it
provides a turning point for the conversation between Brick and Big Daddy. The length allows
the shot to swell to an emotional climax that leads to much quicker cutting in the following shots
to build up tension. Hitchcock frequently used similar editing techniques, for example the rapid
cutting in the shower in Psycho or the quick cuts as the fire is about to make the car explode in
The Birds. It starts by pulling out of a medium close up on Brick to a medium wide shot, queueing
the audience that movement is about to happen. From pulling out though it is apparent that the
lighting on Brick has changed dramatically between the two shots, as traditionally more care is
taken into lighting close ups. Brick starts to move to the door with the camera panning with his
movement until he arrives at a door that is blocked by Big Daddy. In Classical Hollywood, most
camera movements are done through motivated character movement and this film clearly follows
this rule with this shot being a stand out representation for this technique. This framing is
maintained until we yet again see another instance of camera movement as Brick and Big Daddy
then move to the center of the room. At about this time we notice there is some slight thunder
outside though it is not overpowering, however once Skipper s name is mentioned the thunder
overwhelms the scene and provides a pause in their conversation. This film uses sound cues often
to let the audience know that what is being said is either important for the plot or emotionally
important. While most are subtle this is the one cue in the film that feels a bit over the top, as in
real life nature is not able to weigh in on the conversations of people. Even without the thunder cue,
it is apparent from Paul Newman s terrific acting and Big Daddy s movement at

Swimsuit Monologue
Stout bathers in baggy swimsuits tiptoe into the sea then launch themselves into the waves. A
ship hovers on the horizon, hardly seeming to move, spectral against the whitewashed sky.
Everything looks too real, too sharply defined and the colours are too bright, as if I m seeing
them after waking from a fever. The man who d found my clothes is standing with his back to
me, watching the swimmers. Hello, I say, and the he turns to face me. I recognise him; he d been
selling tickets for a boat trip out to the bay. Mikes effort to engage with him, his friendly all right,

better when the patient repeated the demonstration and would be able to see if she made any errors
and could help her put these right.

Mission Command Research Paper
Mission Command
Every organization needs a foundation in order to successfully operate and execute a mission. The
United States Army base their foundation on mission command. Mission command is when
soldiers use sound base decisions in order to execute land operations to achieve the commander s
intent. The core of mission command is mutual trust, shared understanding, and purpose. Everyone
in the unit should be able to feel confident to trust one another by the characteristics that the Army
has provided such as Army Values, empathy, Warrior Ethos, and discipline. Without trust between
leaders and subordinates the mission cannot be accomplished. There are many components to
mission command but I will discuss the philosophy, six principles of mission command, and why ...

Building trust is an important factor to mission command. Commanders earn trust by maintaining
the Army Values and implementing leadership such as the Army s leadership principles.
Commanders need to create an understanding by collaborating and using dialogue to understand the
operation environment. Commander will need to provide a clear intent with the purpose of the
operation which they guide and direct subordinates to complete the mission. Exercise disciplined
initiative is when a subordinate take action in the absence of orders by following the laws and
regulations. The use of mission orders helps subordinated understand the priorities and results that
the commander wants by emphasizing the main objective, set priorities, allocate resources, and
influence the situation. However, mission order do not provide on how to execute the mission but

The Importance Of Media In The Media
Media is everywhere around the world, it surrounds us even when sometimes we don t even
notice it. It can appear from newspapers to news, or as well physically and throughout electronic
devices such as cell phones. We consider it as a tool to make time fly ahead or to spectate what
is going on with other people s lives. However, we may encounter certain factors that may not
appeal to us. We may see postings or news about tragic events that happen around the world and
surprisingly, sometimes we don t even bother to care, due to the fact that it wasn t us in that
situation. There are a great number of aspects to be resolved for this world to be free from issues,
but a question that comes to mind is, What if it never... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example that can relate to this song is when 9/11 happened, due to terrorists. An unexpected
tragic event that no one thought would happen that took many lives from loved ones to close
ones. In addition, Billie Joe Armstrong s pathos has an outstanding true meaning based from the
lyrics, A new day dawning, comes without warning... . One can interpret based on this factor
that every day is a new opportunity for something tragic to happen. This here is the message that
Billie Joe Armstrong is trying to convey to us all. He wants us to realize that all though we live
happy at times, there is always something dark waiting to approach at any time with
unpredictable outcome. A second example based on this observation can be the terror attack
that happened recently on Friday when a bombing occurred in a London train underground that
injured 30 passengers on board. And furthermore, a second man was arrested a couple days later
due to the fact that he too was also affiliated with the incident as well according to officers. In
addition to the topic, Billie Joe Armstrong states about love and peace and how it s impossible
for such thing like that to occur, What good is love and peace on earth? When it s exclusive? ,
as if he were trying to say that it would have to take a miracle for the world to resolve from this.
Many people have experienced moments when others are made fun of or times when people fight
for various reasons such as an argument.

Similarities Between Frankenstein Or The Modern Prometheus
In Mary Shelley s novel, Frankenstein, Or the Modern Prometheus she discusses the issue of rebirth
through the hands of humans and how man is attempting to imitate God or nature, which can lead
to disastrous results. The internal struggles of Victor Frankenstein and his relationship with his
creature is some that not only affects them but his family and community as a whole. This story of
creation and punishment is one that has been told for centuries and is what Shelley s own novel
was inspired by, the legend of the Greek Titan Prometheus. She uses the story of Prometheus as
basis for Frankenstein; the connection between a creator and its child, the punishment for taking

When Prometheus was punished, it was as a result of the fact that he wanted to better his
creation but in stark contrast to that Victor punishment is somewhat internal and not at all for
any sort of compassion or love. Prometheus displayed the actions of a good creator whilst Victor
was the opposite. He was consistently attempting to assist and advance the humans, while Victor,
in contrast was constantly displaying his disgust in his own creation and in no way tried to help
him assimilate to society. Victor doesn t express any other emotion towards the monster other
than disgust and revulsion after its birth, once he realized what he had done he proclaims that,
now that I had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust
filled my heart (Ch.5, p.59). The creature himself, after learning to speak and write from the
backyard of a family, expresses to Victor how the effect of his neglect has left him, where he
describes the pain and torment of abandonment from your own creator. The creation describes
how he is a reflection of Victor himself, Accursed creator! Why did you form a monster so
hideous that even you turned from me in disgust? God, in pity, made man beautiful and alluring,
after his own image; but my form is a filthy type of yours, more horrid even from the very

Ficer Corps And The Noncommissioned Officer
Abstract The officer corps and the noncommissioned officer corps in the Army go all the back to
before the founding fathers formed the country. Both of these corps have adapted and changed
according to wars and conflicts the nation has participated. The success of the Army is dependent
on the ability of officers and noncommissioned officers to work together. Training, education and
mentorship lead to officers and noncommissioned officerserving as the cornerstone of the Army.
Establishing roles and responsibilities It is important to understand the roles that officers and non
commissioned officers hold in the Army. Without this understanding, officers and non
commissioned officers become stranded and confused. The Army has continuously updated
regulations, field manuals, and other doctrine to keep up with the ever changing operational
environment the Army operates in. Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) 6 22 and Army Doctrine
Reference Publication (ADRP) 6 22 clearly establish the roles of the officer and the non
commissioned officer. Additional Army doctrine provides for other miscellaneous tasks or
responsibilities that officers and non commissioned officers either share or work together to
accomplish. A simple example is Training Circular (TC) 3 21, Drill and Ceremony. The non
commissioned officer has the bulk of the responsibility to conduct but the officer does have a role
as the commander of troops. Although Drill and Ceremony not does specifically address a

The main focus is on helping the poorest people and the poorest countries, but for all its clients the

countries are able to put into place the policies and structural reforms which can provide the basis

their mentality. Their capitalist discourse is apparent in their aim for a stable macroeconomic
environment . Every document that I read, which was well over fifty documents, published by the

The Funerary Model Of A Pig Sty
Mingqi
For this first paper assignment I have chosen to write my essay on The Funerary Model of a Pig
Sty. This artwork takes place in Ancient China around c. 2nd century BCE. It was designed and
used within the Han Dynasty early in China s history. These clay models like the pig sty and other
burial goods had a hand in furthering the development of Chinas cultural heritage and beliefs.
Within this paper I will be discussing my chosen MIA artwork, works that are similar but different
to this artwork, and also how all three works, although all different, have the same purpose for what
they have been made for. Then finally touching on how the context of the piece can change based
on its surroundings.

(MIA) The roofs are separated into four sections on both rooftops. On the square latrine roofs
there are four triangles. While on the rectangular latrine there are two triangles and two trapezoids
for the rooftops shape. I find that this adds to the depth of the roof giving this piece great detail.
One can see this not just in the structure, but also in the details of the animals found in the pigsty
model. For starters when looking around there are seven animals total. They are a boar or male pig,
a dog, a sow who is feeding her three young piglets, and finally a bird. (MIA) In this particular
model each animal is found doing something known for what that animal does in real life. For
example the boar is outside the pen eating slop by himself out of a bowl. While the dog is above
the boar on the walkway lazily sleeping his day away in what could be the hot sun. As one
moves along within the piece and looks inside the pen one can see a sow that is really doing the
most work in this model for she is feeding her three young piglets right in the middle of the pen.
This is okay because her and the piglets are the only four in the pen causing a feeling of calm to
the person looking at the work. Finally we move our eyes up and see a nest with a bird in it. This
bird seems to be stretching his wings or cleaning them minding its own business. All these
individual details make up one

Babbage was so fascinated with designing his analytical engine that he never built one. One
design would suggest an improvement, then another, and another because he could never stop
short of perfection. Shortly before his death in 1871 he wrote: If I survive some few years
longer, the Analytical Engine will exist, and its works will afterwards be spread over the world.
For more than a century his work would lie dormant, waiting other times and other people to

One of the few bright spots in Babbage s life was his friendship with Augusta Ada (1816 1852),

mathematics and engineering and was one of the few who really understood Babbage s work. She

activities to engage the toddlers. With physical, emotional/social, age appropriate toys, and the best

Of course the first observation I make is this a safe environment. I clean disinfected tables, light

vacuumed. The child ratio at these times was on the higher end maybe because at beginning and
end of days so a little overlap. The fire and disaster plans posted on wall, with a backpack filled
with students emergency cards and basic first aid needs. All toys were placed in bins or tucked
away in a safe and presentable order. The outside had multiple opportunities for children to optimum
risk taking tasks, with traps, slides, play structures, age appropriate bikes, and tumbling mats.
I also looked around to see how healthy is the environment. I observed that each child washes
hands when they enter the class and the diaper areas was wiped down with disinfected after each
diaper change with gloves used with poop, miniature toilets and sinks for proper handwashing
(after using bathroom, before meals) The food was properly prepared (in a of site or in the kitchen)

The Evolution of the Federal Budget Process
Federal spending is necessary for the economy and is essential to the accomplishment of national
goals and advancement. This is why a budget is needed, however, there is no actual process
mentioned in the Constitution that explains how Congress should do this. The Constitution states:
No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law;
and a regular Statement and Account of Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be
published from time to time. (U.S. Constitution, Article 1, Section 9).
This statement only says that the power has been designated to Congress. It does not stipulate how
to use this power nor does it give instructions for the budgeting process. Even as the role of ... Show

Prior to this, the legislative branch had no way to determine is own spending priorities and had
nothing to compare to the President s budget. The Congressional Budget Act of 1974 also created
several other instruments for Congress to use during budgeting. First, the Congressional Budget
Office was conceived to provide financial data to Congress. This financial data includes an
economic analysis of the President s budget and its own budget proposal for comparison.
Previously, Congress had no choice but to use information from the Office of Management and
Budget which was part of the executive branch. After the CBO was created, Congress was
liberated from its reliance on the information from the executive branch. Second, it also created the
House and Senate budget committees. These committees deliberate over the President s budget
using the CBO s report as a guideline. They then draft and prepare the budget resolutions for each
house. Once again, legislature was used to further define the government budgeting process. It did
not, however, include instructions as to how to achieve actual budgeting goals such as a balanced
budget or lowered debt. It has failed to set a reform to force hard decisions.
Conclusion
The separation of power doctrine as well as the checks and balances system have created a culture
of restraint between the legislative and executive branches. Each branch s initial instinct is always

Mary Parker Follett s Leadership
Mary Parker Follett had approached management in a different view than most managers of her
time. Rather than seeing conflict as just that, a conflict, she thought a conflict could be a good
thing. Mary believed that managing was not about dominating the employees, nor
compromising with them but rather stating each of the preferences a person holds and striving
to meet each of the personal needs together. She also believed that when a manager is giving
orders, they need to thoroughly discuss the instructions as well as deal with resentment. Chris
Kolbe believes his authority comes from his commitment to the company and his team, the way
he approaches things and his performance. Kolbe states he draws it from what he does every
minute, in how he communicates with his employees, and his directness. It seems as though
Kolbe and Follett had similar managerial practices. Follett thrives for a work place where each
person can express their personal preferences yet being respectful and mindful of those around
them. Kolbe creates a work environment where each employee feels safe and enjoys working
with him. He allows each employee to express their ideas and be their own person within the
business. By putting each and every employee into the broader picture, they have a sense of
belonging. This creates a thriving business. Also, Follett goes on to state that a manager needs to
be direct and thorough about what needs to be done. Kolbe has these one on one talks with his

Uncle Wiggily In Connecticut Summary
In the Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut short story, J.D. Salinger, draws a women living a meager life
in despite of her wealth, and the unhappiness of not being a mother even though she has a daughter.
Although this woman demonstrates an icy and bitter relationship to everything around her,
including her descendent, the story s end indicates self awareness and resolution for the protagonist.
Before coming to the very ending it is important to elaborate on some important points acting as
foundation for the optimist interpretation of Eloise s last words. Otherwise it could be interpret
either way.
The story develops two old college friends gathering for a chat, in a week afternoon, talking for
hours straight. During this period there is abusive alcohol consumption, a robust evidence of
personal problems. The conversation evolves around gossip and complains. It is Eloise, the
protagonist, who complains the most throughout the whole story, and about every aspect of her
current life. Including her own daughter, which until that moment she barely considers as her
descendent: I need a cocker spaniel or something (24). Even though the text only brings up the
distinct appearances between them, Eloise believes Ramona is so far apart from her that anything
would be closer to her even a dog.
Furthermore, despite Eloise s wealthy life, with expensive cars, belongs and even a full time maid

A Linguistic Term For Indo European And Indian History
ARYANS
Aryan is a linguistic term for Indo European (Robert Westad 2014a). The Aryans brought to India
no culture so advanced as that of Harappans (Robert Westad 2014a). When the Aryans appear
writing disappeared and does not come back until the middle of the first millennium BCE. Cities
were reinvented by the Aryans, which lack the elaboration and order of the gridded pattern of
Harappans (Robert Westad 2014a). When the Aryans migrated into the Indus Valley they brought
with them a culture that was very different from any other region (Breyer 2004). The invaders had
two contributions to Indian history; it s formal history and its social institutions (Robert Westad
2014a). One of the biggest social institutions that the Aryans brought to India was the unique social
structure; in their system every class had a duty to their society (Breyer 2004). Originally there
were only three main classes or Varnas, but this changed to fit the civilisation in which they
controlled (Breyer 2004). As religion and rituals were a major part of Indian life, it was only
fitting that the priests and scholars were the highest class (Beyer 2004). They were called the
Brahmans (Breyer 2004). Under the Brahmans were the ruling class or the Kshatriyas; this also
included nobles and warriors (Breyer 2004). The third class was made up of the commoners they
were called the Vaisyas. It was the fourth class that the servants and peasants made up, called
Sudras. It was later on where another

Herman Melville Research Paper

American Literature
Herman Melville Progress is key to living life, but if one is advancing through life with the
motivation of revenge, then, in actuality, he or she is truly regressing. Revenge is an extremely
corruptive trait. It causes people to do uncharacteristic things that normally would not be done. The
perception of right and wrong is blurred and one takes inadvertent actions that may cost friendships,
possessions, and even lives. Revenge is often a major motivating factor in the characters that are in
the works written during the Dark Romanticism period. One of the most celebrated and influential
American authors in history, Herman Melville, was born on August 1, 1819; his reputation was not

On September 28, 1891 just after midnight, Melville suffered a heart attack and died, leaving Billy
Budd in manuscript (Rollyson xxiv). Billy Budd was published posthumously. Moby Dick is
considered to be one of, if not the, best novels in American history. Harper amp; Brothers first
published it in 1851 in New York. In England, it was published in the same year under the title,
The Whale ( Moby Dick ). Melville explores topics and themes that were scarcely spoken of and
never even seen in a novel. In the novel, the Pequod, which is the ship, is named after a Native
American tribe that was exterminated when the white settlers arrived. It is a symbol of death
and doom and foreshadows event that occur later in the novel. Melville brings some very
controversial themes to light in the novel. Revenge is one of the main themes of Dark
Romanticism and Melville uses it to drive every action taken by Ahab. This is seen early on in
the novel as Ahab explains to the crew why he has a peg leg and that he wants to enact his
revenge on Moby Dick (Melville 160 161). Moby Dick is, fundamentally, a revenge tragedy. It s
about one man s maniacal obsession with vengeance. It s about finding an object on which to pin
all you anger and fear and rage, not only about your own suffering, but also about the suffering of
all mankind ( Moby

Walla Walla, Washington: Wonderful Wines In The West

It was not long ago when Walla Walla was known for their sweet yellow onions and not much
else. Wine changed all of that. What started in the 1970s as a test to see if grapes liked the same
soil as onions, has now exploded into a fine wine mecca. When Gary Figgins planted the first wine

This sleepy town at the foot of the round and rolling Blue Mountains is quickly becoming one of

Packaging And Labelling Are Two Important Aspects Of...
Introduction:
Packaging and Labelling are two very important aspects of modern marketing, which puts a
significant effect on the success of the business. Labelling is considered as a wrapper or container
of the product whereas a part of the printed or written note that is put on the package is considered
as the label.
Colourful paper labels, the first form of commercial art was first brought forward by a European
artist. It is both used as a product identifier and an eye catcher for the consumers since 1880.This
art, which later became a profession of lithography, was used on packaging cases of fruits, boxes
of cigars and on cans of vegetables. The world s first self adhesive labels was established by an
entrepreneur, R.Stanton Avery and it turned to a very profitable business.
In the recent days, all sorts of companies takes huge interest in packaging and labelling their
products, keeping their targeted customers on mind and these have now become a very successful
business entity. Nevertheless, these have to be continuously innovated and recreated to keep the
mass consumers attracted towards the product. Packaging and labelling help marketing the product
in a numerous ways and thus through these the companies can reach the targeted consumers,
ultimately making a strong place in the retail market. Still, the Australian market of packaging and
labelling is comparatively minor in terms of international standards.

John Wilkes Booth, born May 10, 1838, was an actor who performed throughout the country in
many plays. He was the lead in some of William Shakespeare s most famous works. Additionally,
he was a racist and Southern sympathizer during the Civil War. He hated Abraham Lincoln who
represented everything Booth was against. Booth blamed Lincoln for all the South s ills. He
wanted revenge. In late summer of 1864 Booth began developing plans to kidnap Lincoln, take
him to Richmond (the Confederate capital), and hold him in return for Confederate prisoners of

Theme Of The Lamb To The Slaughter By Roald Dahl
Roald Dahl has successfully presented creepy moments and ideas in his writing by the very
uncommon, but realistic scenarios the characters are put in, word choice, and character

causing the reader to be surprised with how the characters develop throughout the story. One way
the author has presented scary ideas was by putting the characters in scenarios that are possible to
happen to anyone, yet they are very unlikely. In The Landlady, the main characteris your average

She was just going home with the vegetables on Thursday evening to cook dinner for her
husband. The reader knows the real story, in which that one is not true. This is creepy because
now there is suspense toward whether or not she is going to get away with the story she tells
everyone. Comparatively, the author presents menacing and fearsome ideas by character
development. In The Landlady, the woman presents herself and a very pleasurable, harmless
soul. The text says, ..she gave him a warm welcoming smile. Toward the end, she keeps that eerie
smile, but she starts to give hints letting him know that she s going to kill him. Throughout the
story she mentions Mr Mulholland and Mr Perkins staying in her bed and breakfast. The text

Comparing Gilgamesh And Inanna
Inanna was the most prominent female deity in ancient Mesopotamia. As
early as the Uruk period (ca. 4000 3100 BC), Inanna was associated
with the city of Uruk. The famous Uruk Vase (found in a deposit of
cult objects of the Uruk III period) depicts a row of naked men
carrying various objects, bowls, vessels, and baskets of farm produce,
and bringing sheep and goats, to a female figure facing the ruler.
This figure was ornately dressed for a divine marriage, and attended
by a servant. The female figure holds the symbol of the two twisted

Frogs And Toad Book Report
This nonfiction selection is about frogs and toads, it informs the reader about the essential facts
about frogs and toads as well as introducing additional information you probably don t know.
Speaking about this, there were specific sections I enjoyed reading about more than others. For
instance, I cherished reading about how adult frogs cared for their offspring, it demonstrated the
grand amount of devotion certain animals provide for their young. Indeed, this impacted me
because it portrayed now animals have emotions too, and don t just care about themselves. For
example, the African bullfrog exhibits valiant actions because it attempts to ward off danger to any
animal that poses a threat to its eggs and tadpoles. It goes to such extent... Show more content on

Considering this, I would definitely continue reading other books on this topic because they
captivate me and I don t find them dull whatsoever. Further, this book contained multitudinous
information about frogs and toads, but the majority of it was simple facts and I want to read
another book that is complex and has facts that most people wouldn t know. However, this book
was adequate and has encouraged me to read other books about frogs. Equally, I find frogs
engaging because their features are unique compared to other organisms. To illustrate, frogs have
skin that they can breathe through and they don t have rib cages, making them one of the most
interesting animals in the animal kingdom. Specifically, I m longing to read a book about glass
frogs because their skin is see through and even scientists don t know why that is. In conclusion,
there is no doubt that I would read another book about frogs because there s a grand quantity that
I don t know about them and I m yearning to find out. They re such engrossing creatures that have
qualities that I want to read about as well as animals are my passion and all this would guide me

The Soviet Union Won Four Gold Medals
:
James walks into the Olympic Center Stadium, feeling a brisk of cold air hit him as he sees the
clean sheet of ice. He looks around to see Americans, his people, laughing anxiously around him

History Of The Irish Famine
The United States had a huge impact on Ireland. It can be stated that it started off with the
Americas shipping potatoes up to Ireland. The Irish became dependent on the spud as there were
many available and the variation in meals you can prepare with them. One can boil them, mash
them, or stick them in a stew along with many other delicacies. By 1845, 40 percent of the country
s population routinely lived almost entirely on potatoes.
Along came Ireland s great famine between 1845 and 1952. This famine not only killed through
starvation, but also with terrible illnesses and bone deterioration. These diseases included, but were
not limited to, typhus, scurvy, syphilis, osteomyelitis, tuberculosis, and rickets. These people were

Why Was John C Calhoun Important
Calhoun was born in Abbeville County, South Carolina on the 18th of March 1782 ( John

1804( John C. Calhoun ). He persisted his education at Litchfield Law School in Connecticut. He
got admitted to the South Carolinabar in 1807 and practiced law in the city he was born in. Soon
Later, he was elected into many things such as U.S Secretary Of War, Congressman, and Senator of
South Carolina. And within those things, he was able to decrease debt, maintain peace, establish
the Second Bank of the United States, and
The first reason why John C. Calhoun was important is because he decreased debt. For example,
during his time as U.S Secretary of State, the department s operations and accounts had many
problems involving debt. Calhoun knew this and suggested some ideas of change. Congress
agreed to those changes and ratified the army s staff structure, improved the accounting and
procurement systems, and voted to pay and decrease the war debt. At the end of Calhoun s second
term as secretary, the accounts had been reduced from $45 to $3 million. Calhoun had a large

them ( PBS ). Because of the debate over states rights and slavery, it resulted into the lead of the
Civil War. What Calhoun has done created a big impact on the future. His decisions lead to the
beginning of the civil war. That is a huge step to a better state. Without his passion and
determination, the civil war probably wouldn t have started until later in the years and it could have

Erp Implementation On The Company s Business Processes

ERP Implementation on the Company s Business Processes: Budgeting
Nowadays, information and the value of information become the very important things, especially
in the business concepts. Therefore, the company is like a race against the time to manage all
resources in a single integrated database to supply real time data. They are implementing a
computer software as well as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), an information system which is
used to integrate and control all company resources (Mabert 2003). There are at least three stages
of the key success factors of ERP implementation in an enterprise: the planning effort, the
implementation decision, and the implementation management. The first factor, planning effort, is
all stages before ERP project commencing such as executive support and their contribution in the
project planning, team formation, and technology issues. Implementation decision, as the second
key success factor, is the strategies to implement the project, such as the big bang approach or the
phased in approach, include software customization and re engineering. The last factor,
management implementation, is all actions or variations during the project implementation (Mabert
2003). In conjunction with the key factors of ERP implementation mentioned above, this essay
aims to discuss the benefits as well as the disadvantages of ERP, then to analyze the role of ERP in
supporting budgeting process.
All of the three critical factors must be

Sexual Connotation Of Dance And Music In Brazil
The article I choose is about sex in the media from Brazil, and the reason I decided to sheer the
reality from my country was my amazement about it. The magazine describe the music phrases in a
popular song that a lot kids in Brazil dancing and singing all the time. The combination words using
in the music had strong sexualityconnotation, which shocked people who do not used to it. For
example: Now, I m going to talk about your rights: your right to sit, your right to quit, the right to

of music is all the time in the radio and television, many different parties, houses and people s

Character And Suffering Aspects Of The Play Oedipus Rex
Oedipus Rex is a play that works on extremes. First of all, Oedipus, the protagonist of the play
inadvertently kills father, Laius and performs the act of incest with his mother Jocasta. He lives in
ignorance until his deeds necessitates consequences which is when Thebes is in turmoil. The
tension that is built throughout the play goes through a cathartic moment when Oedipusgoes on a
self imposed exile. Aristotle uses this play to show how it meets the requirements of being an ideal
triagedy. Aristotle, provides many requirements, but for the purpose of this essay I will be focusing
on the plot, character and suffering aspects of the play. Aristotle asserts that in a tragedythat the plot
must contain a certain magnitude is necessary, and a magnitude which may be easily embraced in
one view . In essence, what Aristotle is stating is that there must be an intensity in a plot, a
universal truth which readers can relate or resonate to. One of which is man s search for truth.
Upon meeting Odysseus Teiresias, the blind prophet, that the ...The truth within me makes me

inferred from the quote that there is a certain power, or strength that comes from truth, but since
the truth which is he knows is of no value to him, because it does not pertain to him. Oedipus
whose thirst for knowledge causes him to discover his misdeeds does provide a commendable
moral. On one hand, it shows

Rise Of The Robots Analysis
Essay 3: Rise of the Robots
In Mr. Martin Ford s Rise of the Robots, the author argues that the economic future is in danger
due to technology overtaking the workforce. As technology becomes smarter, they have taken
over the jobs that humans have previously done. However, it is not just simple tasks, but
intricate tasks that require multiple steps, such as brain surgery. Mr. Ford presents a valid
argument of that at the rate that technology is progressing, it will probably only be a few decades
before robotics overtake the workforce. Mr. Ford s main argument is that coming technology will
have a profound impact on our economics. Even today, we have automated robots doing tasks that,
formally, humans couldn t preform with such accuracy, such as self driving cars and even
surgeries. Robots are able to assemble other robots via the assembly lines. Increasingly, technology
is advancing faster than humans in discovering ways to complete tasks. Technology is becoming
exponentially better at writing its own programing, raising the question why could they not
overtake all jobs currently performed by humans. Surgery is a major example of how robots have
surpassed the human capabilities, being able to complete the procedure with minimal invasiveness.
It is already unique enough for a robot to assemble a washing machine, per say, but now they are
able to perform tasks that humans cannot even complete. More sophisticated robots are referred to
as artificial

Giving Back To A Community Analysis
As someone who strongly believes in the value of community, giving back is the least I can do.
From an early age, I was taught that giving back to others is one of the greatest joys in life. When I

delivered them to people who were in desperate need in a slum of Tehran. Seeing their smiles
and eagerness to reach those packages was both the best and the worst feeling of my life. I made
me happy that I could bring smiles to their faces and maybe a little bit of hope to some families,
but I was saddened as I witnessed the tragic lives of so many people. Poverty is a challenge that
faces many, but it is hard to understand why when other people have so

Ethical Dilemm Moral Dilemma
Ethical dilemma(s) One ethical dilemma Anthony has encountered is helping the family understand
where their loved one is currently standing. Communicating life threatening news takes courage and
certain factors need to be taken into consideration. In the textbook, The Last Dance it is stressed
that physicians must consider the patient s personality, emotional constitution, and capacity for
continued function under stress. Communication is essential and how and when the life threatening
news is conveyed is an essential part of this process. Furthermore, DeSpelder and Strickland (2009)
say that how the diagnosis is communicated can influence a patient attitude toward the illness,
response to treatment, ability to cope.
Views about dying, death, and afterlife:
We are all going to die. This is something unavoidable and is part of human nature. Anything that
has been born will have to encounter death also. Anthony feels that death is fearsome, and often
times people avoid having such discussion. The truth of the matter is that death is an integral part
of our lives; we are surrounded by death. The topic of death is represented in mass media,
television shows, cartoons, magazines and the internet. We hear songs about death, and we even
sign to their tunes as if we were singing a farewell to our loved ones. So what is there to be afraid
of? The subject of death has been embedded in our culture. Anthony believes that death is an
existential, emotional and physical need of

My Reflection For My Contributions In Math And Education
Contributions For this class, how I plan on contributing is by engaging into discussions a
hundred percent with good textbook citations to support my idea or thoughts. I will ask my
questions on the Q A discussion board if there are questions I have so if there are others
wondering. My goals for this class is that after I will be able to engage my children more into math
and science and have more activities to get them excited. Also to get the children more involved
with the activity, asking questions to getting them more engaging and yearning for more activities
around that subject. My expectations for myself is to receive the grade of an A, to study hard and
lastly to improve myself to help the children improve themselves.

Cyprus. Othello is accompanied by his new wife and his lieutenant, Cassio. When they arrive, they
find that the weather has destroyed the Turkish fleet. Iago, the evil antagonist, repeatedly tries to

He does not care what happens to anyone else as long as he is happy. Jealousy and revenge
trying to hurt Othello lead Iago to have Roderigo killed, Cassio severely injured, his own wife
Emilia and Desdemona dead, and Othello committing suicide. Finally, Iago ends up being tortured
and killed for his great conspiracy. After reading this story, can we ask ourselves, is it really worth
it? Iago s motivation is his love of evil. He has no conscience. He is not able to feel love. Iago
treats others as fools and has no sign of repentance. Ironically, Shakespeare portrays him as honest
Iago. Shakespeare has built the character of Iago from an idea already existing in the theatrical
culture of his
time. The devil in religious morality plays. [1] Evil, hatred, and revenge can only lead you to
one direction, self destruction and death. Te saddest part of this story is you do not die alone. You
can destroy other people s lives in the process even those of innocent people like Desdemona or
Emilia who are secondary characters in the story.
During Shakespearian time, women were rarely seen as equal. They were often seen as inferior
people who needed to be taken care by men. Othello shows how women are owned by men. They
can also be stolen . Men can play with them. Women are seen as prizes men can get. Desdemona,
Othello s wife, can be defined as a human being with no free will. She cannot make her free
choices. She cannot love. She can only be owned. Even her father

Abusive Relationships In Death And The Maiden
An Analysis on the Role of Abusive Relationships in Death and the Maiden Throughout the play
Death and the Maiden, Dorfman uses Paulina and Gerardo s abusive relationship to display how
gender roles affect characters interactions. Dorfman depicts Gerardo as controlling and
authoritative in contrast to Paulina. Paulina was presumably subservient and malleable before the
introduction of Roberto. After the introduction of Roberto, a shift in Paulina s character occurs
altering Gerardo s and Paulina s previous relationship. Paulina takes control, refusing subservience
to Gerardo. She still cares for him, but she no longer allows him to make decisions for her or treat
her with disrespect. She fights back fire with fire and this shift in gender... Show more content on

She s calculating, she had a plan to put Roberto on trial and she executed that plan. She instated
protective measures to prevent his escape, she was strategic in finding enough proof to satisfy
her that he was guilty. This newfound control Paulina has of herself and the people around her
causes a shift in the way interactions are conducted. Trapped as a sort of prisoner, Roberto and
Gerardo must obey Paulina or risk indirectly causing Roberto s death. Another example of the
inequality in Gerardo and Paulina s relationship is when Gerardo accepts a position on the
commission without discussing it with Paulina. He ironically believes decisions can be made
without her input or consent, but contrasty, if she makes any decisions he must play a role in
them, whether it be interrogating Roberto or lending the car jack out to her mother. The effect
of Paulina s new sense of self also results in Gerardo having difficulty communicating with
Paulina because she s in a position of power, for example when Paulina held a gun Gerardo states
while you point it at me, there is no possible dialogue, (24). Gerardo likes to be in a position of
power, where he can play the role of peacemaker, analyzing the situation, and coming up with
solutions. However, Paulina enjoys this new found power and Gerardo struggles with losing his
control over her, Gerardo s statement oh my baby, my baby. You re unrecognizable. How can you

The United States Legal System B. The Egypt Legal System IV. Types of Crimes V. Components of Justice System in the United States VI. Components of Justice System in Egypt VII. Crimes A. United States B. Egypt VIII. Notes IX.References Abstract Justice System in Egypt and the United States are similar in many ways. It depended on which crime the criminal did to figure out which punishment they would receive. Not only would it disgrace them, but it would disgrace their whole family. Now, Egypt uses criminal codes. The criminal codes listed three main categories of crime: minor offenses, misdemeanors, and felonies. Lower courts handled the majority of these cases. Capitol crimes that carried a possible death sentence includes murder, manslaughter, arson or the uses of explosives that caused death, rape, treason, and endangerment of state security. In Egypt few convictions for capital crimes, however, resulted in execution. Egypt laws required that a detained person be brought before a magistrate and formally charged within 48 hours or released. The accused are entitled to post bail and had the right to defended by legal counsel. Searches can not be conducted without a warrant. The justice system in the United States is one of the most unique in the world. It consists of two separate levels of courts, state and federal.. Most of the laws that govern our day to day living are state laws; violations of federal law include offenses involving federal government employees, kidnapping or evading arrest, and fraud such as income tax or postal fraud. • 3. The Pros And Cons Of Uniforms In Schools School uniforms: a debate that has been tossed back and forth for years now. The percentage of schools that necessitate uniforms and the percentage of the ones that do not are approximately equal. This conveys a dispute that is difficult to find a definite solution for, due to the ambiguous negatives and positives being drawn between both arguments. Uniforms being a part of school systems became widespread first after Long Beach, California implemented them into their elementary and middle schools. It is safe to say that since then, schools have become far more lenient with what restrictions students have when it comes to uniforms. However, some others disagree with the policies on uniforms, believing that they obstruct on children s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It creates a unified community that has no economic or social barriers relating to clothing. To empathize the point being made, it should be known that hectoring youth can lead to both physical and emotional stress, depression, and in extreme cases, even death. When the threats of bullying are so prominent in a teenager s life, precautions must be made. Accepting uniforms in a school will help it present itself in a more professional and safe manner. For instance, if someone were to come up to the school requesting entrance wearing clothing previously banned, it would be a cause for suspicion. This could assist schools in being more efficient in the event of a lockdown or emergency. Meanwhile, schools are still being regularly threatened to date; a study states In addition, school uniforms are generally a benefit for parents, economically. With uniforms having the same style every year, albeit with occasional leniencies, there is not much cause for buying new uniforms yearly besides from a child growing. Without a school uniform, teenagers quickly tire of what they wear to school and want to get new clothes around every month. This is due to students wanting to stay with the times and the latest trends. In the logic of the adolescent mind, if you have the latest clothes, then it will boost your reputation and status on the school map, and so a time consuming cycle is forged. This would cost the parents more of their salary that could be better spent on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Induction And Hypnotic Induction Prior to going directly to the hypnotic induction techniques, it is necessary to know the meaning of the word induction , and its usage and application in the field of hypnotism; therefore, one definition was chosen how this word is used in psychology and hypnotism. The Cambridge Dictionary of Psychology (Matsumoto, 2009) defines the word induction as A form of logical reasoning in which general principles are inferred from multiple observation , But in term of psychology it defines the word as Any act or process of bringing about a change, as of inducing a person into the military, putting someone into a hypnotic state, or producing and electrical current in a wire . • 5. David Bordwell s Cat On A Hot Tin Roof While the films of classical Hollywood differ in various aspects, there is a unifying style that allows one to look at each film as a piece in a larger picture. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, a 1958 film directed by Richard Brooks and based on a play of Tennessee Williams, remains conservative throughout which makes it an ideal film to look at to understand the paradigms, as David Bordwell would put it, that ultimately determined the way in which Hollywoodfilms were made. Bordwell uses three different levels of generality to describe the common elements among Classical Hollywood films. The first level, devices, is primarily about the technical aspects of the film and deals with the use of common cinematic conventions such as dramatic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is also the longest shot of the scene at about a minute and thirty seconds in length and it provides a turning point for the conversation between Brick and Big Daddy. The length allows the shot to swell to an emotional climax that leads to much quicker cutting in the following shots to build up tension. Hitchcock frequently used similar editing techniques, for example the rapid cutting in the shower in Psycho or the quick cuts as the fire is about to make the car explode in The Birds. It starts by pulling out of a medium close up on Brick to a medium wide shot, queueing the audience that movement is about to happen. From pulling out though it is apparent that the lighting on Brick has changed dramatically between the two shots, as traditionally more care is taken into lighting close ups. Brick starts to move to the door with the camera panning with his movement until he arrives at a door that is blocked by Big Daddy. In Classical Hollywood, most camera movements are done through motivated character movement and this film clearly follows this rule with this shot being a stand out representation for this technique. This framing is maintained until we yet again see another instance of camera movement as Brick and Big Daddy then move to the center of the room. At about this time we notice there is some slight thunder outside though it is not overpowering, however once Skipper s name is mentioned the thunder overwhelms the scene and provides a pause in their conversation. This film uses sound cues often to let the audience know that what is being said is either important for the plot or emotionally important. While most are subtle this is the one cue in the film that feels a bit over the top, as in real life nature is not able to weigh in on the conversations of people. Even without the thunder cue, it is apparent from Paul Newman s terrific acting and Big Daddy s movement at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An example that can relate to this song is when 9/11 happened, due to terrorists. An unexpected tragic event that no one thought would happen that took many lives from loved ones to close ones. In addition, Billie Joe Armstrong s pathos has an outstanding true meaning based from the lyrics, A new day dawning, comes without warning... . One can interpret based on this factor that every day is a new opportunity for something tragic to happen. This here is the message that Billie Joe Armstrong is trying to convey to us all. He wants us to realize that all though we live happy at times, there is always something dark waiting to approach at any time with unpredictable outcome. A second example based on this observation can be the terror attack that happened recently on Friday when a bombing occurred in a London train underground that injured 30 passengers on board. And furthermore, a second man was arrested a couple days later due to the fact that he too was also affiliated with the incident as well according to officers. In addition to the topic, Billie Joe Armstrong states about love and peace and how it s impossible for such thing like that to occur, What good is love and peace on earth? When it s exclusive? , as if he were trying to say that it would have to take a miracle for the world to resolve from this. The internal struggles of Victor Frankenstein and his relationship with his creature is some that not only affects them but his family and community as a whole. This story of creation and punishment is one that has been told for centuries and is what Shelley s own novel was inspired by, the legend of the Greek Titan Prometheus. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Prometheus was punished, it was as a result of the fact that he wanted to better his creation but in stark contrast to that Victor punishment is somewhat internal and not at all for any sort of compassion or love. Prometheus displayed the actions of a good creator whilst Victor was the opposite. He was consistently attempting to assist and advance the humans, while Victor, in contrast was constantly displaying his disgust in his own creation and in no way tried to help him assimilate to society. Victor doesn t express any other emotion towards the monster other than disgust and revulsion after its birth, once he realized what he had done he proclaims that, now that I had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart (Ch.5, p.59). The creature himself, after learning to speak and write from the backyard of a family, expresses to Victor how the effect of his neglect has left him, where he describes the pain and torment of abandonment from your own creator. The creation describes how he is a reflection of Victor himself, Accursed creator! Why did you form a monster so hideous that even you turned from me in disgust? Both of these corps have adapted and changed according to wars and conflicts the nation has participated. The success of the Army is dependent on the ability of officers and noncommissioned officers to work together. Training, education and mentorship lead to officers and noncommissioned officerserving as the cornerstone of the Army. Establishing roles and responsibilities It is important to understand the roles that officers and non commissioned officers hold in the Army. Without this understanding, officers and non commissioned officers become stranded and confused. The Army has continuously updated regulations, field manuals, and other doctrine to keep up with the ever changing operational environment the Army operates in. Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) 6 22 and Army Doctrine Reference Publication (ADRP) 6 22 clearly establish the roles of the officer and the non commissioned officer. Every document that I read, which was well over fifty documents, published by the World Bank, contained an economic discourse, oftentimes capitalist, which also seemed to assert that the Bank undeniably knew what was right. They define poor as people with no money and thus they feel the need to help develop a poor nation with certain policies and structural reforms, which they believe, are fitting. One can see this not just in the structure, but also in the details of the animals found in the pigsty model. For starters when looking around there are seven animals total. They are a boar or male pig, a dog, a sow who is feeding her three young piglets, and finally a bird. (MIA) In this particular model each animal is found doing something known for what that animal does in real life. For example the boar is outside the pen eating slop by himself out of a bowl. While the dog is above the boar on the walkway lazily sleeping his day away in what could be the hot sun. As one moves along within the piece and looks inside the pen one can see a sow that is really doing the most work in this model for she is feeding her three young piglets right in the middle of the pen. This is okay because her and the piglets are the only four in the pen causing a feeling of calm to the person looking at the work. Finally we move our eyes up and see a nest with a bird in it. This bird seems to be stretching his wings or cleaning them minding its own business. All these individual details make up one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prior to this, the legislative branch had no way to determine is own spending priorities and had nothing to compare to the President s budget. The Congressional Budget Act of 1974 also created several other instruments for Congress to use during budgeting. First, the Congressional Budget Office was conceived to provide financial data to Congress. This financial data includes an economic analysis of the President s budget and its own budget proposal for comparison. Previously, Congress had no choice but to use information from the Office of Management and Budget which was part of the executive branch. After the CBO was created, Congress was liberated from its reliance on the information from the executive branch. Second, it also created the House and Senate budget committees. These committees deliberate over the President s budget using the CBO s report as a guideline. They then draft and prepare the budget resolutions for each house. Once again, legislature was used to further define the government budgeting process. It did not, however, include instructions as to how to achieve actual budgeting goals such as a balanced budget or lowered debt. It has failed to set a reform to force hard decisions. • 23. Mary Parker Follett s Leadership Mary Parker Follett had approached management in a different view than most managers of her time. Rather than seeing conflict as just that, a conflict, she thought a conflict could be a good thing. Mary believed that managing was not about dominating the employees, nor compromising with them but rather stating each of the preferences a person holds and striving to meet each of the personal needs together. She also believed that when a manager is giving orders, they need to thoroughly discuss the instructions as well as deal with resentment. Chris Kolbe believes his authority comes from his commitment to the company and his team, the way he approaches things and his performance. Kolbe states he draws it from what he does every minute, in how he communicates with his employees, and his directness. It seems as though Kolbe and Follett had similar managerial practices. Follett thrives for a work place where each person can express their personal preferences yet being respectful and mindful of those around them. Kolbe creates a work environment where each employee feels safe and enjoys working with him. He allows each employee to express their ideas and be their own person within the business. By putting each and every employee into the broader picture, they have a sense of belonging. This creates a thriving business. The Aryans brought to India no culture so advanced as that of Harappans (Robert Westad 2014a). When the Aryans appear writing disappeared and does not come back until the middle of the first millennium BCE. Cities were reinvented by the Aryans, which lack the elaboration and order of the gridded pattern of Harappans (Robert Westad 2014a). When the Aryans migrated into the Indus Valley they brought with them a culture that was very different from any other region (Breyer 2004). The invaders had two contributions to Indian history; it s formal history and its social institutions (Robert Westad 2014a). One of the biggest social institutions that the Aryans brought to India was the unique social structure; in their system every class had a duty to their society (Breyer 2004). Originally there were only three main classes or Varnas, but this changed to fit the civilisation in which they controlled (Breyer 2004). As religion and rituals were a major part of Indian life, it was only fitting that the priests and scholars were the highest class (Beyer 2004). They were called the Brahmans (Breyer 2004). Revenge is an extremely corruptive trait. It causes people to do uncharacteristic things that normally would not be done. The perception of right and wrong is blurred and one takes inadvertent actions that may cost friendships, possessions, and even lives. Moby Dick is considered to be one of, if not the, best novels in American history. Harper amp; Brothers first published it in 1851 in New York. In England, it was published in the same year under the title, The Whale ( Moby Dick ). Melville explores topics and themes that were scarcely spoken of and never even seen in a novel. In the novel, the Pequod, which is the ship, is named after a Native American tribe that was exterminated when the white settlers arrived. It is a symbol of death and doom and foreshadows event that occur later in the novel. Melville brings some very controversial themes to light in the novel. Revenge is one of the main themes of Dark Romanticism and Melville uses it to drive every action taken by Ahab. This is seen early on in the novel as Ahab explains to the crew why he has a peg leg and that he wants to enact his revenge on Moby Dick (Melville 160 161). Theme Of The Lamb To The Slaughter By Roald Dahl Roald Dahl has successfully presented creepy moments and ideas in his writing by the very uncommon, but realistic scenarios the characters are put in, word choice, and character development. The author gives very little background information at the beginning of the story causing the reader to be surprised with how the characters develop throughout the story. One way the author has presented scary ideas was by putting the characters in scenarios that are possible to happen to anyone, yet they are very unlikely. Comparatively, the author presents menacing and fearsome ideas by character development. In The Landlady, the woman presents herself and a very pleasurable, harmless soul. The text says, ..she gave him a warm welcoming smile. Toward the end, she keeps that eerie smile, but she starts to give hints letting him know that she s going to kill him. Throughout the story she mentions Mr Mulholland and Mr Perkins staying in her bed and breakfast. The way this developed in a creepy way was because she was giving vague answers, making it seem like the two men she killed, were alive and in their rooms. In Lamb to the Slaughter, the main character is six months pregnant and married. When the police come to search for evidence, they eat it. The police were unforeseeable, assuming the lady who offered them to stay for dinner, wouldn t be a suspect of killing the man who is pregnant with her child. Rise Of The Robots Analysis Essay 3: Rise of the Robots In Mr. Martin Ford s Rise of the Robots, the author argues that the economic future is in danger due to technology overtaking the workforce. As technology becomes smarter, they have taken over the jobs that humans have previously done. However, it is not just simple tasks, but intricate tasks that require multiple steps, such as brain surgery. Mr. Ford presents a valid argument of that at the rate that technology is progressing, it will probably only be a few decades before robotics overtake the workforce. Mr. Ford s main argument is that coming technology will have a profound impact on our economics. Even today, we have automated robots doing tasks that, formally, humans couldn t preform with such accuracy, such as self driving cars and even surgeries. Robots are able to assemble other robots via the assembly lines. Increasingly, technology is advancing faster than humans in discovering ways to complete tasks. Technology is becoming exponentially better at writing its own programing, raising the question why could they not overtake all jobs currently performed by humans. Surgery is a major example of how robots have surpassed the human capabilities, being able to complete the procedure with minimal invasiveness.
