First Impressions Essay
Crafting an essay on the theme of "First Impressions" can be a nuanced and challenging task.
The complexity lies in the multifaceted nature of the topic, as first impressions encompass a wide
array of experiences and perspectives. To capture the essence of this theme, one must delve into
psychological, social, and personal realms, weaving together a narrative that reflects the intricate
dance between perception and reality.
The difficulty arises from the need to balance objective analysis with subjective interpretation.
Exploring the cognitive processes behind first impressions, including the impact of biases and
cultural influences, requires a meticulous approach. Simultaneously, delving into the emotional
aspects of forming and experiencing first impressions demands a keen understanding of human
psychology.
Moreover, the challenge extends to addressing the diverse contexts in which first impressions
play a pivotal role – from job interviews and social gatherings to digital interactions. Each
context brings its own set of variables, necessitating careful consideration to offer a
comprehensive exploration of the topic.
Another layer of complexity emerges when attempting to connect personal anecdotes or societal
examples to broader theoretical frameworks. Effectively synthesizing empirical evidence,
academic theories, and real-life scenarios requires a skillful balance between scholarly research
and relatable storytelling.
Additionally, the essay must navigate the fine line between generalizations and individual
experiences, recognizing that first impressions are inherently subjective. The writer must be
attuned to the potential pitfalls of stereotyping or oversimplifying the intricate processes that
shape initial perceptions.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "First Impressions" demands a nuanced approach, combining
analytical rigor with a thoughtful exploration of the human experience. It is a task that requires
finesse in balancing diverse perspectives and delving into the intricate interplay between
cognition, emotion, and societal dynamics. Successfully navigating these challenges can result in
an essay that not only informs but also engages readers on a personal level.

Art Greek Analysis
Here we are; another week, another article. Last time we covered the heavy stuff,
including the early history of oriental rugs and some common terms to familiarize
yourself with. This week we re talking about what s on the rugs: their designs! I
tend to be kind of an art geek. What can I say? I m drawn to interesting images, and
art has some of the most intriguing images to offer. Art galleries, museums, art
blogs; all of it! What I love most about art is the meaning behind the shapes and
colors chosen. Granted, not all art has a deeper meaning beyond whatever the artist
splattered onto a blank canvas. In that case, it s all in the eye of the beholder.
Oriental rugs feel like art to me, and I like to collect art which is why buying an

Abraham Lincoln s Racist Arguments With Stephen Douglas
Lincoln always hated slavery, but he was smart enough not to publicly announce it.
His public statements on slavery and race have been the cause of controversy
throughout the years, as he often seems to almost contradict himself at first glance.
However, analyzing the seemingly racist statements he would make shows that they
were all part of a bigger plan. Had he simply told the racist audiences that their
beliefs were wrong, they would have rejected him outright. Instead, he would use
ambiguous language to make it seem as if he shared their beliefs, and then use sound
logic to argue in favor of his own point. By doing this, he molded the opinions of his
audience in an extremely effective manner.
Lincoln used his skills to the fullest extent throughout his debates with Stephen
Douglas. In these debates, Douglas frequently attacked Lincoln s views on race,
forcing Lincoln on the defensive. Douglas claimed that Lincoln was in support of
intermarriage, full equality for blacks, and other such things all propositions that
drew horror from the average member of the audience. However, Lincoln turned all ...

This is a statement that could potentially be construed as racist, but in all reality
has almost no meaning. It is a smokescreen, there to make his audience think that
he is on their side. Following this, Lincoln first states that despite any potential
differences, blacks still have the same right that others do to live a free life. He
follows this statement up with a direct appeal to his crowd, asking to simply leave
the blacks alone. Lincoln avoids asking his audience to change the beliefs they have
grown up with, and instead just asks them not to act upon those beliefs. By changing
the focal point of his anti slavery argument, he is able to avoid provoking his
audience and make logical points that they find it hard to disagree
The Importance Of Communication Skills
When it comes to hiring the right persons for right position, there seems to be
consensus among the industry leaders as well as representatives of academia and the
government. In some skills they have a little degree of differences, but above ranking
is derived after moderation from the facilitator upon consensus of the participants.
Although few members of the panel also mentioned about other skills such as action
planning, creativity, time management, negotiating and networking skills etc., but
they agreed on above mentioned skills as most important skills they are looking for
from the fresh graduates. They all agreed that communication skilli.e. verbal and
written is the most desired as well as is significant from the perspective of
workplace success. According to University of Kent, careers and employability
service, verbal skill is ability to express ideas clearly and confidently in speech
whereas written skill is ability to express clearly in writing (Woodcock, 2015). A
significant number of participants expressed that communication skill is important
because it helps an individual to become quick learner and they need quick learners
in the profession. Moreover all participants were unanimous that documentation is
crucial in ICT business and they wanted to have employees with good written skills.
It is interesting to observe that for ICT graduates the employers ranked computing
skills to the sixth position. They opined that if the graduates have other skills as
The Impact Of Diversified Workforce And How
Management...
Abstract
The hospitality industry around the globe is characterized by the existence of
diversified workforce. As a result, it requires highly skilled Human Resource
Management (HRM). The research paper here tries to acknowledge the impact of
diversified workforce and how management handles their employees from different
cultural backgrounds. The paper gives a brief background of the story, followed by
an extensive literature review. The literature review section focuses on various
theories and models of eminent authors and research scholars. The theories aim at
providing knowledge regarding the benefits, challenges and opportunities of having a
diversified culture in the organizations. While some authors emphasize on adopting
diversification in the companies, others point out the disadvantages related to having
employees from different cultural backgrounds. They also offer practical
recommendations to the HR managers to help them successfully deal with the
cultural diversity issues. The main aim of the paper is to identify the research gap
identified in the literature review section. The research methodology applied here
is based on secondary data collection. Secondary data are such data which have
been previously collected by some agency for a purpose and are merely compiled
from the original source for use in diverse connection. The study has been assembled
with the help of various journals, books, websites, etc. Theories have been used that

A Hero In Schindler s List
In an interview they mentioned he gained some weight for the role, due to the fact
that the real Amon Goeth was said to eat nothing but terrible food, and drink lots
of liquor. Ralph theorized that might have been some subconscious reason he was
so horrible to the Jews in Plazow. He said he felt so horrible while on the diet he
was on, he could imagine that that could have added to the viscous cycle in
Plazow. Liam Neeson brought more of character to himself, especially near the
end. Whilst Liam Neeson is certainly not a womanizer like Schindler, he has the
profound sense of humanity I see in many actors. It was the quiet moments when he

because he didn t start out as the hero. Schindler was by all accounts, a scoundrel,
who gradually transformed into the hero we recognize today.
Schindler s list is a faithful adaptation of the novel Schindler s Ark written by
Thomas Keneally. Spielberg made sure to talk to the original person who suggested
to Thomas Keneally to write the book in the first place, a Schindlerjuden named
Leopold Page. He also interviewed many other of the Schindlerjuden, which in part
inspired him to start the Shoah foundation. The screenplay itself was written by
Steven Zaillian. Liam Neeson once again interview that he still has his copy of the
Schindler s list script. He said when he first read it he got chills, and knew he had to

The movie is rife with symbols. One of my favorite symbols from Schindler s list is
the ring that they give him at the end with the inscription from the Talmud. It
represents all the people that he saved, the good that he did in the world, and the
gratitude love that they held for him. The list itself is a symbol, it represents life. The

A Sentimental Journey Through France And Italy
The prevailing cast of this period is not melancholy nor tragedy but farce . Discuss in
relation to A Sentimental Journey.
There exists the idea that the period occupied by sentiment was one of refined and
intellectual emotion. However, it seems that if this notion ever existed, it was quickly
overcome with literature occupying the theme of farce, either ironically or
obliviously. A specific example we can point to to clearly demonstrate this idea is A
Sentimental Journey through France and Italy by Laurence Sterne. While some
contemporaries adored Sterne s work on a serious sentimental level, many other
critics, both past and present, see it instead as a conscious farcical parody of the
idea and concept of sentiment that was so revered and admired at the time. In A
Sentimental Journey we see various elements of farce through the different aspects
presented to us as readers, ranging from the characters within the story, with a focus
on Mr. Yorick, our main character, and farce is even present in the form of the book
itself. And it is these factors we will examine that highlight the farcical nature, not
only of A Sentimental Journey, but most likely a great deal of sentimental literature
written of the time. The first thing to address before we dive too deeply into the
exploration of comedy and farce specifically in A Sentimental Journey, we must first
dissect what is meant by the term farce itself. The Concise Oxford Dictionary of
Literary Terms describes it as a kind
The Rise Of Industrial Cities In America
At the turn of the century the rise of the urban city began to take shape. The New
Metropolis of industrial cities in America began to produce many innovations and
creations both terrible and wonderful at the same time. With the advent of steam
power replacing water power the scale of the amount of goods and materials
produced vastly increased. The increase of products drew men and women away from
farming communities and poor countries around the world into the blooming cities.
The increase of people in the cities created pocket communities in every new
industrial city. This has a lot to do with ethnic clustering which is normal since most
people look for things that are familiar to them when they are in a new place. Things

Career Photography Research Paper
According to dictionary.com, the definition of photography is, the process or art of
producing images of objects on sensitized surfaces by the chemical action of light or
of other forms of radiant energy, as x rays, gamma rays, or cosmic rays.

According to the Digital Photography Schools Darren Rowse many different
elements are used in photography. Patterns can make photographs more striking for
viewers. Symmetry is a powerful element in photography. Taking a picture with a
strong point of interest and enhancing the symmetry around that point draws the
attention of the viewer(s). When used correctly texture can create a three
dimensional feel to pictures. The texture in a photograph should focus on sources of
light hitting objects at interesting angles. Shallow depth of field can isolate subjects
from the background or foreground. The same technique can give viewer context by
using large depth of field to focus on the surroundings of the subject. Lines are one
of the most important elements of photography. The viewer s eyes are drawn to the
lines (see Figure 2). Photographers can use lines to draw viewers attention to the

Great Britain And The European Union
The recent decision of Great Britain to leave the European Union coincides with the
recent election of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States. Both events
can be explained by using economic and cultural arguments. In order to fully
understand these occurrences, one must understand the economic anxiety as well as
the anti globalisation sentiment that surrounded the Brexit movement. Trump s
candidacy involves some of the same aspects, yet Trump s voter demographic, the
white, working class, must also be studied. In the end, it can be determined that there
is arguably more of a cultural reasoning to these incidences.
The instances of Great Britain s exit from the EU and the election of Donald Trump
were both so originally downplayed that when both possibilities came to light, the
world was in shock and awe. June 23, 2016 was the first shock as Great Britain
held a referendum in order to decide the question of whether or not the country
should remain within the European Union. Brexit was the winning vote. Political
elites had been defeated and the complaints of the voters were heard. These
complaints stemmed from economic anxiety within the country and the demise of
the support of globalisation. The Economist article, Drawbridges Up , describes the
way in which voters wished to take control of borders once again in order to slow
the flow of immigrants and refugees.
The Trump candidacy shares some of the same fundamental aspects of Brexit yet

How Does Shakespeare Show Identity In Macbeth
Perhaps it is impossible to wear an identity without becoming what you pretend to
be. Orson Scott Card s controversial perception of one s character and identity
compels man to question how his true self may possibly be a facade he uses to
present himself to the world. Shakespeare s Macbeth, is a dramatization of the
calamity that arises when man s unrelenting ambition commits him to execute acts of
treachery for prestige. As one observes the tragedy he questions the identity of the
antihero, Macbeth is he a pure fallacy who uses corruption to distance his innate self
from the deed? Or perhaps he suffuses himself with evil to commit to the deed? In
any case it is perceived that once man is in a dilemma with himself, in contrast with
nature, or at an impasse with his ambition and... Show more content on

His identity is thus established as a man who boasts of willpower and persistence
building a relationship with himself which have foundations in personal principles.
It is then these principles that aid him in his quest for justice the triumph over evil
which will in turn, eradicate his barbarous demise. Analogous to identity being an
echo of man s deeds, Shakespeare presents that the quality of the act is also a
measure of the man and an omen of the death that walks towards him. The effect
Macbeth s acts have upon the multitudinous of relations he holds with his subjects
shows his strength as a king and as a moral man the defining aspect of his being.
When Macbeth plans to have Banquo and his son (the prophesized heir to the
throne) Fleance murdered, he is no longer perceived as a calculated, rational ruler,
but a tyrant who conducts murder left and right, only later to be forced in sleeping
with one eye open. Upon hearing of the unsuccessful assassination attempt of young
Fleance, Macbeth is wrought with the sight of his father. As he falls into a frivolous

suspect Jones was involved in three separate assaults and rapes of juveniles over
three days. The prosecution filed charges against Jones, Walsh and Bert for their
involvement in the crime. The suspect, Bert then hired an attorney to defend him
and explains to his lawyer that he did not participate in any acts of raping these
girls and that he was only present one time with Jones and all he did was hit one of
the girls. Bert also goes on to say that he can prove this because at the times the
other rapes are alleged to have occurred, he was with Mook, who is currently out of
the country on a mountain climbing trip and will not return for 2 months. Bland also
contacts the prosecutors office and provides a written statement to the prosecutor that
Walsh was not present during any of the rapes. (Case Study, n.d.) When two or more

France Military Empire
Military and Empire
Military might was a fundamental aspect of French grandeur. It contributed to
national prosperity, as the military industrial complex allowed France to become
the world s third ranking arms exporter. 1 Military applications of nuclear
technology were justified by security concerns primarily a mistrust of the USA s
reliability alongside the desire to be militarily self sufficient, as a French
ambfassador to Canberra remarked that its nuclear program was divorced from any
empty considerations of prestige, and inspired by the purely defensive concern of
deterring any possible aggressor. 2 It was cultural significance for France, however,

The islands secured much as the old French empire was: through legal provisions that
designated faraway lands as an extension of the metropole, military presence, and the
systematic elimination of independence movements. They served a multitude of
purposes, such as providing France with a nuclear testing ground that was isolated,
easy to control, and far away from home, which ensured that the inhabitants of
continental France would feel no negative effects of bombs. All of this allowed
France s nuclear accomplishments to be claimed as a wholly French experience
ultimately, they were conceived, designed, and tested on what is considered French
soil. However, as will be further discussed, such portrayals largely discount the role of
Polynesia and Polynesians themselves in the development, and they are not often
significantly represented in the overall narrative of French nuclear capabilities. The
disproportionate representation of French perspectives in decision making and
historic portrayals by the French government is yet another aspect of the French
Polynesian nuclear program that mimics old systems of military
Social Darwinism And Natural Selection
It is almost undeniable that the technologies cause rapid changes in human
relationships, cultures, and societies. While it enormously facilitates us in nearly
every aspect of our life, such changes also create consequences that we do not yet
realize. Almost all of us know Darwinism and Natural Selection in the biological
field, but we often overlook the similar phenomena in the social aspect. In fact,
resemble to the way we adapt to our physical environment, we also adapt to our social
environment in order to survive and excel in our social relationships. Such adaption
is called Social Darwinism. Because technologies have significantly influenced our
social environment, humans are forced to adapt not only to technologies, but also to

The reason behind such decision is that unless in urgent situations, other people
expect them to text, the technology that is more prevalent and requires less effort to
respond than phone (Turkle 375). Although Tara and Leonora are discontent, but do
not feel they have a choice. This is where technology has brought them (Turkle
375). From those examples, we can easily observe that because the notions of using
certain technology have already became parts of our general social roles, people can
no longer resist the influence of it regardless of our feeling.
In the meantime, we are also forced to mentally adapt popularity and efficiency, the
core values of modern technologies. In analogy, humans evolve (in the bigger and
smaller scale) not only because of our side environment, but also the pressure under
the notion that only the fittest among us can survive. In the comparison between
phone calls and texts, texts are not any more technologically advanced than phone
calls are. However, we in general still prefer texts, and intentionally or unintentionally
make others around us use them because of the efficiency behind them. Moreover,
when the popularity of texts is accumulated, such preference becomes further
irreversible. Back to the context of expectations and social roles, we enjoy popularity
as the outcome of pluralism, the conformity of social roles and expectation. In

to sixteen hours a day with hardly any rest would make the children exhausted and
would have likely suffered from fatigue. They also would go without food, and
would end up falling ill as a result of lack of nutrition. As well as being exhausted,
hungry and generally not well, children working over machines would often have
bowed legs and their limbs and muscles would be poorly developed. Factories were
not the only work children would take on, some children would be sent down the

How Did W B Yeats Contribution To Irish Nationalism
The aim of this thesis is to concentrate on those poems of W.B. Yeats which deal with
Irish Nationalism. His poems intimately connect history and literature. The MLA 7th
edition format has been used in writing this thesis.
Nationalism is a doctrine invented in Europe in the beginning of the nineteenth
century. It pretends to supply the criterion for the determination of the unit of
population proper to enjoy a government exclusively of its own, for the legitimate
exercise of power in the state for the rights, organization, of a society, of states.
Briefly, the doctrine holds that humanity is naturally divided into nations, that nations
are known by certain characteristics which can be ascertained, and that the only
legitimate type of government is national self government. (Kedourie 9) The nation
state is the focus of nationalism. Nationalism is a sentiment and an ideology.
Nationalist sentiment means giving primacy to national interest above all interests.
Nationalist ideology may be defined as a desire of a group people living in a
particular geographical area to become an independent nation by evolving their own
language, symbol, flag and declaring national festivals, and people living in that area
following these rules. It is about loyalty towards the nation and if the nation is under

now Joss that you failed. Cutting every 2 seconds so the audience doesn t notice

the new Francis Ford Coppola, then the movie industry must be in major trouble

How Did The French Revolution Influence American
Government
Greece (508 BC)
The Greeks developed a system of government based on the idea of rule by the
people . The origin of the word democracy came from the Greek words demos
(people) and kratein (rule). Discussions were held in public gatherings and decisions
were made by consensus. Consensus was possible due to the limited numbers
involved. All male citizens were able to vote; women, slaves, and foreigners were
excluded from the democratic process.
England (1215)

way they did, so they would fight face to face. As for the paper goes these two men
were brought up with completely different family scenarios that led them to the great
warriors that they ended up being. George Armstrong Custerwas born December 5,
1839 in New Rumley, Ohio to Emanuel and Maria Custer. According to an article
written by Jeffry Wert of History.Net, Custer was given the nickname Autie by his
mother on top of other like Hard Ass and Iron Butt . Autie was almost or was fully
worshipped by his other sibling and especially was spoiled by his parents at a very
young age. This mindset was driven deep into Autie s mind that he could probably
get away with anything that he did bad or great. Wert goes on by saying that Autie
was bright but was a bad boy in school , just because he wasn t willing to put the
work in, in the classroom. Eventually Custer wanted to join the army mainly this
being the only place in life that interested him, in June 1857 Custer enrolled into
West Point, but this went as well as his schooling in his younger years. In his full four

was in marching band I had always been fascinated by drum majors. I went to all of
the football games so I could watch the field show. The field shows were and still
are the most exciting part of the football game to me and now that I am actually a
part of the show it is much more exciting. I absolutely love marching band.
Marching band has had a great impact in my life, it helped me ease into high school a

Crytex Systems. Moral obligations and interpersonal responsibilities have been
increasingly differentiated both in the philosophical and in the psychological

actions that we owe to everybody under all circumstances. They include, for example,
the obligation to keep a promise or to be veridical. These obligations have been
subsumed under the principle of justice and fairness. On the other hand, expectations

POG Premium Oil and Gas

Premium Oil and Gas (POG) is the Dutch holding company of one of the world s
largest petroleum and gas groups. The organisation employs over 80,000 staff in 80
countries and is best known to the general public through its 25,000 service stations.
POG s main activities are the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas,
together with the marketing, supply and transportation of these products. The
company earns revenues of around ВЈ100 billion per annum based on its daily
production of two million barrels of crude oil and eight billion cubic feet of natural
gas, plus daily sales of six million barrels of refined products.

Other areas for active recruitment include drilling, commercial, health, safety and

Interviewed recently for the company magazine, Dr Woodhouse explained how one
option for POG Azerbaijan would have been to rely on experienced expatriates to do
the whole job, but that was not POG s way. Her focus, she said, was on the
recruitment of nationals, who could be developed so that they can ultimately manage
the operation. Right now, 40 Azeri employees were undergoing technical training at
POG s development centre in the Netherlands. For one thing, she continued, it costs
considerably more to bring expatriates to Azerbaijan and it was important to employ
those who understand the local environment, who know how to get things done. This
fitted in with the company s belief in recruiting the best possible staff to plan, build
and operate the platforms and pipelines. A constant concern, however, was that Azeri
standards were currently well below international standards on health and safety, in
spite of considerable company investment in health and safety training. This is
unacceptable position for POG, operating as it does in a highly dangerous industry
that is at the centre of the media s spotlight.

Superman Compare And Contrast
Both Superman and Batman are heroes, but only one is truly a superhero, and taking
into account their upbringing, motives, and criminal targets, that is Batman.
Upbringing was not gentle for either. Superman came from Krypton, a planet that
was about to self destruct. His parents sent him as a baby on a spaceship to Earth.
There he would be adopted by an ordinary farm family. His adoptive parents named
him Clark Kent and reared him well. In the same generation, far away in Gotham,
Bruce Wayne, the future Batman, was born to a contented, wealthy family. Tragically,
his parents were killed in his presence during a mugging. He inherited the family
wealth and was raised by his kindly butler. Those very different backgrounds

Furthermore, Selekman believed there are assumptions that benefit those who deal
with resistant adolescents and their families. The assumptions are extremely practical
and provide therapists a new lens for viewing the tough adolescent case. Each of the
guiding assumptions provides a wellness perspective on adolescent problems,
families, and brief therapy. Matching our treatment to the state of change will foster a
cooperative relationship. Therapists must specify the level of the change. That is the
key to adolescent resistance. Next positive relabeling can describe a withdrawn
adolescent as a thoughtful teenager (2005, p. 32).
Successively, Selekman explains that fostering therapist client cooperation is
purposive use of self disclosure, the use of humor, normalizing, demonstrating cultural
and gender sensitivity, and therapeutic compliments. Mark Twain once said, Against
the assault of laughter nothing can stand. Humor can help generate a relaxed
atmosphere, influence the client from his or her concerns, and heal those in pain.

Discrimination, Discrimination And The Right Of A Person
Discrimination as used in the context of human rights in employment, a distinction,
exclusion, or preference based on one of the prohibited grounds that has the effect of
nullifying or impairing the right of a person to full and equal recognition and exercise
of his or her human rights and freedoms. (1). Unfortunately discriminationof
employees, weather direct or indirect is a common occurrence in today s business
environment. Hence laws are set up to protect employees from discriminations based
on: national origin, religion, age, sex, race, sexual orientation, harassment, marital
status, family status, disability, employer retaliation and enforcement. Based on the
newspaper article, the initial motion filed in the federal court by Saks stated, that
the discrimination lawsuit filed by their ex employee was to be dismissed, because
transsexuals are not protected under Title VII, (2) which is a section of the 1964
Civil Rights Act that bans employment discrimination based on race, religion or
gender. The ex employee, Leyth O. Jamal, 23, was terminated in July 2012 after she

even though her manager was well aware of her transgender identity, he asked her
to behave in a more masculine way and even instructed her to use the men s

she was a prostitute as well as made threats of violence. Almost three years

Introduction A motor fuel is a fuel that is used to provide power to motor vehicles.
Most of the vehicles today are powered by either gasoline or diesel. Power sources
may also include ethanol, biodiesel, propane, compressed natural gas, electric
batteries charged from an external source, and hydrogen. ( Wikimedia Foundation,
Inc, 2015) Fuel cell vehicles (FCV) run on hydrogen gas rather than gasoline.
Several challenges must be overcome before these vehicles will be competitive
with conventional vehicles (powered by petroleum). (U.S department of energy)
Research Question Is it safe to use hydrogen, instead of petrol, as a fuel in cars?
Hypothesis Hydrogen is not safer than petrol as a fuel in cars. In 1885 a German
engineer called Karl Benz fastened a small gasoline (petrol) engine to a three
wheeled cart and made the first primitive, gas powered car. Although Benz
developed the automobile, another German engineer, Nikolaus Otto he was the man
who invented the gasoline engine in the first place, about two decades earlier. The
current day engine was greatly inspired by Otto s four stroke design. (Bellis, 2015).
Petroleum is also known as crude oil and is a thick, black, energy rich liquid buried
deep underground which became the world s most important source of energy

Perseverance Theme
Man is fed up with receiving the scraps from the gods. They fight back and it angers
the gods, however, the gods need the humans prays to remain strong. A demigod,
Perseus, steps up to fight for humanity, even though Zeus, his father, offered him a
spot among the gods. Perseus led the journey to get Medusas head, and eventually
defeated Hades and the kraken. Two significant, well developed themes of this of
this film are humility and perseverance. The definition of perseverance is:
continuing in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no
prospect of success. Perseusshows perseverance many times throughout the film.
This theme first develops when he shows an interest in ending Hades. Even when
most of his army dies and is hesitant to keep fighting, he encourages them to keep
going. He defeats Medusa despite his army dying, and even when his dear friend
Io dies, he keeps fighting to achieve his goal. Against all odds, he defeats the
kraken and banishes Hades from his world. He could have easily given up at any

A repetitive theme in this film in humility. It begins when Perseus discovers that he
is a demigod. He does everything he can to show that he is a man, and that he
despises gods. Zeus gives him a gift from the gods, but Perseus refuses to use it.
People tell him to use his gifts to his advantage, but he just responds saying that he
must achieve his goal as a man. Although he slightly uses the gifts he proved that
he could fight the gods, as a man, and win. At end of the movie Zeus offers him a
place with the gods, he declines the offer and explains that he has everything he need
on Earth. He proved to Zeus, Hades, his army, and the town, that he could achieve

Sport Specialization In Sport
Sport Specialization At a young age, children tend to start participating in sports as
a way to get active and learn both athletic as well as life skills. Their parents might
start them off with one sport and then before you know it the child is juggling a
handful of sports to see, which ones they like. As these young athletes get older, they
tendto get stuck at a crossroad. The athletes are posed with the same decision: to
specialize in one sportor to continue playing all the sports they love. However, do
athletes that specialize in one sport perform better as they grow up compared to
those that continue playing multiple sports? It is important to resolve this question
because there has been a rise in early youth sport specialization over the last few
years due to pressure put on athletes by their coaches and parents, rather than a
logical rationale (Myer 2015).
Often, as young athletes reach middle school and high school levels, coaches and
parents tend to see the potential these athletes have. As a result, the athletes are
persuaded and or forced into quitting certain sports to specialize in their dominant
sport with hopes of achieving more success. However, these children miss out in
experiences they might have had if they didn t quit those sports. If they choose not to
quit, they are usually treated differently by their coaches. Coaches will talk to them
in a hasty manner compared to other kids or even discipline them harder, solely
because the athlete didn t do

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Supercapacitor
Among the various energy storage technologies, the electrochemical capacitors or
supercapacitors are considered as a promising candidate for the energy storage
devices and conversion systems, which have higher energy and power density than
batteries. These capacitors have been considered for variety of applications such as
hybrid electric vehicles, memory protection of computer electronics and uninterrupted
power supplies [1 3]. Based on the charge storage mechanism, the supercapacitor can
be classified into two types; (i) Electric double layer capacitor (EDLC), utilizing the
electrostatic charge separation at the electrode/electrolyte interface to store electrical
charge. (ii) Pseudocapacitor which employs the electro active materials with fast
redox reaction at electrode surface [4]. The pseudocapacitive behavior of transition
metal oxide electrode materials has been mainly studied for supercapacitor due to
their high capacitance than the EDLC based material. The performance
(pseducapacitive behavior) of the transition metal oxide electrodes are, mainly
determined by the electrochemical activity and kinetic feature. They produced by fast
faradaic reaction associated with the extraction of ions and electrons [2]. The spinel

The Planning Of Software Development Project
ABSTRACT In the planning of software development project, a major challenge
faced by project managers is to predict the re work effort. (re work effort is the
effort require to fix the software defects identified during system testing). Project
manager objective is to deliver the software that not only meets the time and cost
requirements but also the quality requirements given by the client. To ensure the
quality of the software, many testing cycle will be conducted before it is finally
delivered to the client for acceptance. Each testing cycle is a costly affair as it
involves running all possible test scenarios in all possible environments, followed
by defect fixing and re verification of defects. On average, there are 2 3 testing
cycle conducted but this depends on number of defects identified during testing.
Number of defects will depend on the team expertise and whether they earlier
worked on similar projects and technologies. Hence, it becomes critical to predict
the number of defects identified during testing and it is a very challenging task as it
requires a good predicting model to predict the re work effort. In this paper, we
describe the relationship among software size, no of software defects, productivity
and efforts for web based development projects. This relationship is established by
using the multiple linear regression technique on the benchmarking data published by
International Software Benchmarking Standard Group. Results suggest that web

The Dichotomy Of Religion In Yann Martel s Pi
As I mature into a young adult, my thoughts and feelings about certain topics have
changed. One of those topics is religion. I started out as a very devout Christian
when I was younger, but as I got older I began to disagree with a lot of the things I
followed. Over time, I stopped liking Christianity altogether and only believed that
people followed it because it gave them a higher moral ground above everyone else.
However, Yann Martel s novel gave me the epiphany that religionmeant so much
more than this.
For example, in the novel, Pi drifts upon an island with the tiger, Richard Parker.
Richard Parker goes to do his own thing while Pi eats the algae and is
overwhelmed with euphoria (as he had been on the sea for quite some time). He
doesn t stop to think about how everything worked on the island and just took in
everything it had to offer. This symbolizes how some followers of religion don t
think logically about how life works or even about their own religion and go with it.
In my case, for Christianity, I realized why so many people didn t stop to think about
why some illogical things happened in the Bible. They simply don t care and are
happy with what Christianity had to offer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The small mammals do not even hesitate to move, and a few even jump up and
down as if they were saying My turn! My turn! Pi perceives this as that the
meerkats were not fazed by anything, not even death. This symbolizes how
followers of religion follow it so closely that nothing scares them. Here, I realized
why some Christians are not afraid of death or why Christians tend to live happy
lives. They aren t afraid of death because if they are morally right in life, such as not
doing drugs or following the Golden Rule , then they will get a wonderful afterlife.
Although Christianity is not a perfect religion, it causes people to lead happy and/or
peaceful lives without even realizing
The Global Epidemic Of Elder Abuse Essay
Evidence suggests that one in 10 older adults experiences some form of elder
abuse, but only one in 25 cases is reported to social services agencies (Dong, 2012,
p. 2151). Elder mistreatment can occur in a variety of settings including domestic
and assisted living. Elder abuse includes psychological, physical, and sexual abuse;
neglect to include both caregiver and self neglect; and financial exploitation. With
the vast explosion of the aging population in today s society elder abuse can no
longer loom in the shadows.
Literature Review After many years, the global epidemic of elder abuse is beginning
to receive the public attention it desperately needs. Forty years after child abuse and
domestic violence first entered mainstream of the publics eye, elder abuse, which
attacks all demographic, geographic, and economic populations on earth is finally
making headway. Studies have shown that elder abuse is severely underreported
with about 10% of all elderly being subjected to some form of abuse and an
estimated less than half of these cases ever get reported (B. J., Holroyd Leduc,
2012). The American dreams includes that we believe in the right to live free of
abuse, neglect and exploitation and violence regardless of age, gender, race and
economic standing.
Statement of Problem According to Gibson and Qualls (2012) victims of elder
abuse are usually, white widowed females ages 70 to 89, however anybody can be
affected. The first step is understanding what elder abuse
Benefits Of Going To College While On Active Duty
Researchers from Student Veterans of America Service Organization say that from
2002 through 2013 only 51.7% of veterans who attended college after the military
finished with a degree. This percentage is lower than non veterans. Why is this
statistic important? If a service member waits until they get out of the military to
start college they lose the safety net of the military college office and a steady
paycheck. This could be a major factor why the graduation rate is so low. According
to the Pat TillmanFoundation, Got Your Six, and Operation College Promise the
average veteran who attempts to go back to school after getting out of the military
carries with them 28 transfer credits, which automatically makes them sophomores.
This makes it very surprising that the graduation rate is still so low. What makes
going to college while on active duty easier? While on active duty the military
member has many resources to help them complete a degree. With that being said
there are difficulties associated with active duty service members going to college
can also be overwhelming, unlike the civilian sector usually factors such as tuition or

It looks like it is more rational to at the very least start college while on active duty.
Getting started in the civilian sector seems like it would be difficult and continuing
until completion looks like it would be a coin flip for veterans. If a service
member can continue college while dealing with deployments, temporary assigned
duties, and permanent change of station orders he/she will have a much easier time
finishing college out in the civilian sector. It is my opinion however that it would be
easier to start and finish a degree while continuing to be on active duty than to do it
in the civilian world. The safety net associated with being on active duty and a
student is the main reason why I believe

In spite of all this grinding poverty, our governments have progressively been
reducing the welfare spending in the name of maintaining fiscal prudence. They say
that the credit rating agencies may downsize our sovereign credit rating if we don t
keep our fiscal deficit under control by controlling the expenditure. They, however,
don t think about the same fiscal prudence while announcing the so called measures
to spur the growth . As part of the measures they give bailouts to big businesses in the

Jared Fogle Essay
Jared Fogle was a very loved man by Subway because he got famous from loosing
weight from only eating Subway bringing Subway some publicity. Subway then
latched onto Jared making him become the face of subway. Or at least until
Wednesday. Jared had been accused of holding onto child pornography because
about two months ago an executive director of the Jared Foundation, Russell
Taylor, was charged with multiple counts of producing and possessing child
pornography. When Taylor s house was searched a cache of sexually explicit
photos and videos of children supposedly filmed by Russell. Jared had been tied
into this because the authorities had come across a flash drive in which contained
child porn and a document file that had Russell s employer s name is on it, however
the federal criminal complaint had no mention of the Jared Foundation or Jared Fogle
himself. Early on Tuesday Fogle s Jared Foundation focalized Jared s home.
Authorities came in following behind Indiana s Internet Crimes Against Children
Task Force. They raided the entire house confiscating computers, media storage
devices, DVDs and all sorts of documents trying to find proof about the child
pornography scandal. Subway believes that the raid is interconnected with an arrest
of someone who had worked for Fogle s Foundation. Jared has not yet been charged
with a crime yet, but he is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jared might not have any charges on him but the reputation he is beginning to get
made Subway nervous and begin to stop relying on him because they did not want
the name subway to get a bad name because of the spokesman. Subway felt that hey
didn t want to scare away their customers and child pornography is a very scary
thing to have floating around especially if you are a family business like
Biomedical Model Essay
Despite their successes, the biomedical model and its impact on U.S. healthcare and
research (Johnson, 2012) the model s limitations were increasingly apparent (Bennett
Johnson, 2012). Nevertheless, biomedical recognized the leading causes of deaths
were no longer just infectious diseases. Biomedical obtained information, which led
to an understanding that their success was declining, due to not addressing the
chronic disease challenges in the United States today (Bennett Johnson, 2012).
Finally, biomedical realizes the importance to address human diseases require a
broader review in healthcare and the role of behavior in disease etiology, prevention,
and management, new innovations are obviously needed. (Bennett Johnson, 2012).

Although this study and its results could be creditable, how the study was conducted
the obvious limitations presented biases results (Foley Levant, 2006). First, the small
sample size, which prohibited them from analyzing the data to determine different
responses based on demographic variables (Foley Levant, 2006). Therefore, enabling
the pilot study to engage its initial effectiveness from the community residents (Foley
Levant, 2006). Second, the study lacked a pretest questionnaire to illustrate each
participant s relative preworkshop knowledge (Foley Levant, 2006). Allowing the
implementing of a pretest assessment, this study could have offered sound evidence.
And third, the sample was by no means random in nature (e.g., many participants
were selected from support group centers sources only). Regardless of the research
process, all the respondents agreed that they could incorporate the information they
learned into their own life and health care practices.
Although the motives and reasons these research studies conducted and analyzed,
uniquely they have similar reasons, yet their studies produced different results. In the
biomedical model study Bennett Johnsons (2012) sought to enlighten their
professionals with knowledge and the understanding, that the

Antigone Summary
Thebes was invaded by Oedipus son, Polynices, and his followers. As Oedipus
predicted in the previous play, Polynices and his brother, Eteocles, killed each other
during battle. Creon, the king of Thebes, ruled that Eteocles should have a proper
burial with honors and Polynices, the invader, be left unburied to rot. Antigonewas
dejected with Creons ruling and decided to bury Polynicesherself. She tried to enlist
Ismene to help her, but Ismene was to afraid. Antigone furiously continued with the
plan on her own. A sentry discovered Antigone and brought her to Creon. Ismene was
also brought to Creon and confessed that she had helped Antigone with the burial

Antigone had hanged herself in the tomb and Haemon was wailing at her side.
Creon heard Haemon s voice and begged him to come out of the tomb. Haemon
came out and lunged at Creon with his sword and missed. Haemon then took his
own life by leaning on the blade of his sword, Haemon then embraced Antigone as
he died. Eurydice, Haemon s mother and Creon s wife, was brought notice by a
messenger that her son was dead. Eurydice retreated to the palace for the sake of
mourning in private. However, the death of Haemon was to much for Eurydice to
bear and she ended her own life right there in the palace. Creon grieved over the
death of Heamon and thought that there could be no worse. The messenger then
informed Creon that the agony did not end there, Eurydice had also killed herself.
Creon cursed himself and anguished over the loss of his wife and son. In
conclusion, Creon begged and prayed for his own life to be taken so that he would
never have to see another
Blake s Songs Of Innocence And Experience By William
Blake
MEHTA 1
INTRODUCTION
William Blake was an English poet, painter, and printmaker. He was not recognized
during his lifetime and now is considered as a seminal figure and criticised over the
twentieth and even this century. Blake s strong philosophical and religious beliefs in
the history of both the poetry and visual arts of the Romantic Age. Although he was
from London he spent his entire life in Felpham.
William Blake and his works have been discussed all his life and he always
portrayed them in is poetry. It is his experiences and disgust with London society in
the late 18th century .
The works of William Blake cannot be entirely discussed, so my project particularly
focuses on Songs of Innocence and Experience .

The preacher is as dry as a desert, and the lessons of the gospels are spouted out to
an unenthused distant audience. The child in this poem (though told by the bard)
shares a close connection (as Blake believed all children did) with God that has not
yet been clouded by the harshness of life. Therefore, he can make such observances
and offer his advice. Children share a connection with God that is innocent and fair,
this theme is made apparent in mostly all of Blake s poems. Consequently, God is
still a loving father to this child (as stated in lines xiii xiv), and not the vengeful God
that the preacher most likely is painting him to be. This poem is used by Blake as a
way to communicate his belief that the church was suffering from cold militant
preaching rather than warm intoxicating
Marine Leaders Essay
Although problems with the inappropriate use of social networks are not new, in
recent years, it has been observed by many authorities how the internet allows any
actor to perform information operations with amazing ease and effectiveness. Indeed,
several countries and individuals are using online multichannel platforms and social
networks like Instagram, Snapchat Facebook, Twitter or YouTube, the mentioned
sites allows any actor to collect an enormous amount of information on their potential
adversaries and influence public opinion through propaganda and counter propaganda
activities. The armed forces of several countries, including the United States want to
take action on the issue, this has caused a domino effect that not only touches us...

In short, the use of social networks in the military has not only become an important
tool of strategic intelligence and communication, but also a threat to the security of
operations, a danger to its members, a loudspeaker to accuse or expose perhaps
without justification, thus putting at risk the reputation of our armed forces.
Preparing ourselves is key, as leaders, allowing ourselves the time to continue
evolving to be able to continue thinking above what is considered by others to be the
median. Undoubtedly, in this way competent Marines can help the institution to find
a solution. Here the simple goal, we the leaders must consolidate our efforts to stop
the idea that the exchange of inappropriate media in social networks is a mode of
recreation without consequences. Everything mentioned is already possible, since we
possess the means, experience, maturity, and determination necessary to carry it out.
Through all the discussion we must recognize that social networks are not going to
disappear, so let s concentrate on training, educating, and inspiring everyone, at the
end of the day as leaders is our

The complexity lies in the multifaceted nature of the topic, as first impressions encompass a wide array of experiences and perspectives. To capture the essence of this theme, one must delve into psychological, social, and personal realms, weaving together a narrative that reflects the intricate dance between perception and reality. The difficulty arises from the need to balance objective analysis with subjective interpretation. Moreover, the challenge extends to addressing the diverse contexts in which first impressions play a pivotal role – from job interviews and social gatherings to digital interactions. Each context brings its own set of variables, necessitating careful consideration to offer a comprehensive exploration of the topic. Another layer of complexity emerges when attempting to connect personal anecdotes or societal examples to broader theoretical frameworks. Effectively synthesizing empirical evidence, academic theories, and real-life scenarios requires a skillful balance between scholarly research and relatable storytelling. • 2. Art Greek Analysis Here we are; another week, another article. Last time we covered the heavy stuff, including the early history of oriental rugs and some common terms to familiarize yourself with. This week we re talking about what s on the rugs: their designs! I tend to be kind of an art geek. What can I say? I m drawn to interesting images, and art has some of the most intriguing images to offer. Art galleries, museums, art blogs; all of it! What I love most about art is the meaning behind the shapes and colors chosen. Granted, not all art has a deeper meaning beyond whatever the artist splattered onto a blank canvas. In that case, it s all in the eye of the beholder. Oriental rugs feel like art to me, and I like to collect art which is why buying an oriental... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Who knows? • 3. Abraham Lincoln s Racist Arguments With Stephen Douglas Lincoln always hated slavery, but he was smart enough not to publicly announce it. His public statements on slavery and race have been the cause of controversy throughout the years, as he often seems to almost contradict himself at first glance. However, analyzing the seemingly racist statements he would make shows that they were all part of a bigger plan. Had he simply told the racist audiences that their beliefs were wrong, they would have rejected him outright. Instead, he would use ambiguous language to make it seem as if he shared their beliefs, and then use sound logic to argue in favor of his own point. By doing this, he molded the opinions of his audience in an extremely effective manner. Lincoln used his skills to the fullest extent throughout his debates with Stephen Douglas. In these debates, Douglas frequently attacked Lincoln s views on race, forcing Lincoln on the defensive. Douglas claimed that Lincoln was in support of intermarriage, full equality for blacks, and other such things all propositions that drew horror from the average member of the audience. He follows this statement up with a direct appeal to his crowd, asking to simply leave the blacks alone. Lincoln avoids asking his audience to change the beliefs they have grown up with, and instead just asks them not to act upon those beliefs. By changing the focal point of his anti slavery argument, he is able to avoid provoking his audience and make logical points that they find it hard to disagree

  • 7. A Sentimental Journey Through France And Italy The prevailing cast of this period is not melancholy nor tragedy but farce . Discuss in relation to A Sentimental Journey. There exists the idea that the period occupied by sentiment was one of refined and intellectual emotion. However, it seems that if this notion ever existed, it was quickly overcome with literature occupying the theme of farce, either ironically or obliviously. A specific example we can point to to clearly demonstrate this idea is A Sentimental Journey through France and Italy by Laurence Sterne. While some contemporaries adored Sterne s work on a serious sentimental level, many other critics, both past and present, see it instead as a conscious farcical parody of the idea and concept of sentiment that was so revered and admired at the time. In A Sentimental Journey we see various elements of farce through the different aspects presented to us as readers, ranging from the characters within the story, with a focus on Mr. Yorick, our main character, and farce is even present in the form of the book itself. And it is these factors we will examine that highlight the farcical nature, not only of A Sentimental Journey, but most likely a great deal of sentimental literature written of the time. The first thing to address before we dive too deeply into the exploration of comedy and farce specifically in A Sentimental Journey, we must first dissect what is meant by the term farce itself. The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Literary Terms describes it as a kind

Both events can be explained by using economic and cultural arguments. In order to fully understand these occurrences, one must understand the economic anxiety as well as the anti globalisation sentiment that surrounded the Brexit movement. Trump s candidacy involves some of the same aspects, yet Trump s voter demographic, the white, working class, must also be studied. In the end, it can be determined that there is arguably more of a cultural reasoning to these incidences. The instances of Great Britain s exit from the EU and the election of Donald Trump were both so originally downplayed that when both possibilities came to light, the world was in shock and awe. June 23, 2016 was the first shock as Great Britain held a referendum in order to decide the question of whether or not the country should remain within the European Union. Brexit was the winning vote. Political elites had been defeated and the complaints of the voters were heard. These complaints stemmed from economic anxiety within the country and the demise of the support of globalisation. His poems intimately connect history and literature. The MLA 7th edition format has been used in writing this thesis. Nationalism is a doctrine invented in Europe in the beginning of the nineteenth century. It pretends to supply the criterion for the determination of the unit of population proper to enjoy a government exclusively of its own, for the legitimate exercise of power in the state for the rights, organization, of a society, of states. Briefly, the doctrine holds that humanity is naturally divided into nations, that nations are known by certain characteristics which can be ascertained, and that the only legitimate type of government is national self government. Interviewed recently for the company magazine, Dr Woodhouse explained how one option for POG Azerbaijan would have been to rely on experienced expatriates to do the whole job, but that was not POG s way. Her focus, she said, was on the recruitment of nationals, who could be developed so that they can ultimately manage the operation. Right now, 40 Azeri employees were undergoing technical training at POG s development centre in the Netherlands. For one thing, she continued, it costs considerably more to bring expatriates to Azerbaijan and it was important to employ those who understand the local environment, who know how to get things done. This fitted in with the company s belief in recruiting the best possible staff to plan, build and operate the platforms and pipelines. A constant concern, however, was that Azeri standards were currently well below international standards on health and safety, in spite of considerable company investment in health and safety training. This is unacceptable position for POG, operating as it does in a highly dangerous industry that is at the centre of the media s spotlight. Secondly, recruitment and selection is a key function to employ the best of Azerbaijan s well educated

Several challenges must be overcome before these vehicles will be competitive with conventional vehicles (powered by petroleum). (U.S department of energy) Research Question Is it safe to use hydrogen, instead of petrol, as a fuel in cars? Hypothesis Hydrogen is not safer than petrol as a fuel in cars. In 1885 a German engineer called Karl Benz fastened a small gasoline (petrol) engine to a three wheeled cart and made the first primitive, gas powered car. Although Benz developed the automobile, another German engineer, Nikolaus Otto he was the man who invented the gasoline engine in the first place, about two decades earlier. Their parents might start them off with one sport and then before you know it the child is juggling a handful of sports to see, which ones they like. As these young athletes get older, they tendto get stuck at a crossroad. The athletes are posed with the same decision: to specialize in one sportor to continue playing all the sports they love. However, do athletes that specialize in one sport perform better as they grow up compared to those that continue playing multiple sports? It is important to resolve this question because there has been a rise in early youth sport specialization over the last few years due to pressure put on athletes by their coaches and parents, rather than a logical rationale (Myer 2015). Often, as young athletes reach middle school and high school levels, coaches and parents tend to see the potential these athletes have. As a result, the athletes are persuaded and or forced into quitting certain sports to specialize in their dominant sport with hopes of achieving more success. However, these children miss out in experiences they might have had if they didn t quit those sports. If they choose not to quit, they are usually treated differently by their coaches. Coaches will talk to them in a hasty manner compared to other kids or even discipline them harder, solely because the athlete didn t do

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Supercapacitor Among the various energy storage technologies, the electrochemical capacitors or supercapacitors are considered as a promising candidate for the energy storage devices and conversion systems, which have higher energy and power density than batteries. These capacitors have been considered for variety of applications such as hybrid electric vehicles, memory protection of computer electronics and uninterrupted power supplies [1 3]. Based on the charge storage mechanism, the supercapacitor can be classified into two types; (i) Electric double layer capacitor (EDLC), utilizing the electrostatic charge separation at the electrode/electrolyte interface to store electrical charge. (ii) Pseudocapacitor which employs the electro active materials with fast redox reaction at electrode surface [4]. The pseudocapacitive behavior of transition metal oxide electrode materials has been mainly studied for supercapacitor due to their high capacitance than the EDLC based material. (re work effort is the effort require to fix the software defects identified during system testing). Project manager objective is to deliver the software that not only meets the time and cost requirements but also the quality requirements given by the client. To ensure the quality of the software, many testing cycle will be conducted before it is finally delivered to the client for acceptance. Each testing cycle is a costly affair as it involves running all possible test scenarios in all possible environments, followed by defect fixing and re verification of defects. On average, there are 2 3 testing cycle conducted but this depends on number of defects identified during testing. Number of defects will depend on the team expertise and whether they earlier worked on similar projects and technologies. Hence, it becomes critical to predict the number of defects identified during testing and it is a very challenging task as it requires a good predicting model to predict the re work effort. In this paper, we describe the relationship among software size, no of software defects, productivity and efforts for web based development projects. This relationship is established by using the multiple linear regression technique on the benchmarking data published by International Software Benchmarking Standard Group. Results suggest that web based projects

I started out as a very devout Christian when I was younger, but as I got older I began to disagree with a lot of the things I followed. Over time, I stopped liking Christianity altogether and only believed that people followed it because it gave them a higher moral ground above everyone else. However, Yann Martel s novel gave me the epiphany that religionmeant so much more than this. For example, in the novel, Pi drifts upon an island with the tiger, Richard Parker. Richard Parker goes to do his own thing while Pi eats the algae and is overwhelmed with euphoria (as he had been on the sea for quite some time). He doesn t stop to think about how everything worked on the island and just took in everything it had to offer. This symbolizes how some followers of religion don t think logically about how life works or even about their own religion and go with it. In my case, for Christianity, I realized why so many people didn t stop to think about why some illogical things happened in the Bible. They simply don t care and are happy with what Christianity had to offer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here, I realized why some Christians are not afraid of death or why Christians tend to live happy lives. They aren t afraid of death because if they are morally right in life, such as not doing drugs or following the Golden Rule , then they will get a wonderful afterlife. Although Christianity is not a perfect religion, it causes people to lead happy and/or peaceful lives without even realizing
