Wassily Kandinsky has been part of my fascination and love for art for approximately ten years
now. Beginning when I was a freshman in high school, and every year as part of our art classes, my
instructor would do small units on art theory and highlight artists throughout those units, Kandinsky
included. While my talents, in particular, are somewhat limited to what I can represent, Kandinsky
was the first to break Western art s most important rule: that art need to depict anything (Frank,
396). As the first to break away from art being representational, Kandinsky opened other avenues of

Okonchewo And His Father In Okonkwo
Okonkwo s story portrays the major differences between African culture and the idea that the
Western society had on the African culture. Okonkwo is native to the Umuofia tribe and
represented this oversized human being who with holds no emotion. All this makes Okonkwo seem
very unrelatable and unfriendly, but this is what makes his relationships with the characters in the
book so entertaining. For example, Okonkwohad a very negative connection with his father that
affected him so much that it brought him to the point where it changed his life and is also the
reason why he is so strict with his kids. With the introduction of these missionaries into the tribe, it
completely changed the way the tribe acted and ended up bringing Okonkwo to a point where he
had to pay the ultimate price. It was all because they couldn t get along.
The most influential person in Okonkwo s life both negatively and positively was his father
because of the way he changed Okonkwo. The relationship he had with his father was what gave
him the motivation to work harder and try and become a leader of the Umuofia tribe. Okonkwo
did not like his lazy father because of how little he had done for his family and himself. Okonkwo s
goal was to be the opposite of his father and to teach his kids not to be like his father. Achebe

I know it seems easy to be late to class, but for some it s not. Some people were born morning
people and some were born night owls. Half of the night owls are able to get 3 4 hours of sleep and

Psychopathy is defined as a disorder of personality and antisocial disorder is primarily behaviorally

One individual with psychopathic personality disorder is not necessarily antisocial, and an
individual with antisocial disorder does not always meet the diagnostic criteria of psychopathy
(Juni, 2014). It is estimated the general population suffering from antisocial disorder range
between 1% 4% and .2% 3.3% for people who had a situation within the past twelve months
(Werner, Few, Bucholz, 2015). These results are based on patients who are participants of
communities, or clinical populations and are supplemented from criminal populations when
necessary. The patients were all diagnosed before the age of fifteen. Gender also plays a role
because men are three to five times more likely to be diagnosed with either antisocial disorder or
psychopathy disorder including 6% of men, and 2% of women (Werner, Few, Bucholz, 2015). Even
forensic data shows a higher prevalence between male psychopathy and antisocial disorders than
their female counterparts.
The Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual (PDM) stresses the underlying psychodynamic aspects
which does not focus on the antisocial behavior as much as a preoccupation with interpersonal
power (Juni, 2014). This statement makes clear distinction between psychopathy and antisocial
disorder because psychopaths are more concerned with power than antisocial behaviors around
others.
The criteria related to antisocial behavior patterns include low social intelligence and power
impulse control (Juni, 2014).

complex social behavior is collective and to a degree dynamic. Hence the field has no unique
subject matter. The collective behavior perspective is thought to apply to all behavior and no

The cause of acidosis in the body is when the kidneys and lungs do not maintain the balance
(proper pH level) of chemicals called acids and bases. It can either occur when bicarbonate (a
base) is lost or when acid builds up. Acidosis can be defined as either respiratory or metabolic.
Too much carbon dioxide (an acid) in the body leads to respiratory acidosis. When the body gets
into a situation where it is unable to remove enough carbon dioxide through breathing, it causes
respiratory acidosis. This kind of acidosis is also called hyper capnic acidosis and carbon
dioxide acidosis and could be caused by: chest deformities, such as kyphosis, Chest injuries,
chest muscle weakness, chronic lung disease and overuse of sedative drugs. The symptoms that

The intended audience I think that Homer Hickam was trying to direct this book to would probably

Introduction:
Reflex can defined as an automatic and often inborn response to a stimulus that involves a nerve
impulse passing inward from a receptor to a nerve center and thence outward to an effector (as a
muscle or gland) without reaching the level of consciousness (Merriam Webster) or more simply
put an reaction to an action that our bodies do to return to homeostasis without us having to think
about it. Reflexes play an extremely important role in remaining healthy and protecting us from
being harmed without having to take the time to think about it. For example, infants have a suck
reflex that causes them to start sucking when the roof of their mouths are stimulated; this reflex
is obviously important because if infants did not have this reflex, they could die of starvation
since they would not be able to draw milk from their mother s breast (this is actually a problem
with premature infants as the suck reflex does not develop until between the 32nd and 36th week
