a.Identify the clients skin type/condition and explain why you came up with that conclusion and
explain what types of product would best suit this client. The clients skin condition is
dehydrated. The reason I came up with this conclusion is because as my client has stated her
main concerns are dehydration, dryness, sensitivity which are all characteristics of dehydration.
She is also outside a lot, smokes and drinks 3 4 glasses of red wine per night and is using
products that have clearly stripped her skin or all natural oils. The products that would be best
suited for my client would be cream cleanser, rosehip oil, cream mask and moisture rich
moisturiser. b.Develop a list of questions that you could ask your client to help you determine their
skin type/condition and any other information that will make it easier to develop a treatment plan
for each client. Are you on any other medications that weren t listed? What products are you
currently using at home? What products have you used in the past? Whats your diet like? How

Questions On Resting Heart Rate
Case study: Clark Kent
Age: 17
Height: 5 11
Weight: 165 pounds
Gender: Male
Resting Heart Rate: 75 bpm
Clark is a junior in high school and is eager to gain some muscle mass and strength before his
final football season next year. He knows very little about nutrition and his diet consists
primarily of processed foods (i.e., fast food, cafeteria food, etc.). He eats two or three meals per
day on average. Clark s training regimen has been sporadic and inconsistent recently so he is
coming to you for help. He is anxious to be at his best from the start of his senior season, which is
three months away.
Using the information above, calculate the client s BMR and DCR
BMR is the Basal Metabolic Rate while DCR is the Daily Calories Requirement
The BMR can be calculated by the formula
BMR= 66+ (13.7 x weight in kg) + (5 x height in cm) (6.8 x age in years) for male
Here= 66+ (13.7 x 74.84 kg) + (5 x 180.34 cm) (6.8 x 17 year)
= 66 + 1025.308 + 901.7 115.6
= 1877.408
DCR= BMR x activity Multiplier
= BMR x 1.55 (moderate activity) (3 5 days a week)
= 1877.408 x 1.55
= 2909.98
Calculate the client s Target Heart Rateusing the Karvonen formula (you will determine the
appropriate target heart rate for this client given the information gathered in the initial assessment
and evaluation)
Include the following in your case study submission:
The Formula helps us to find out target heart rate (HR) training zone. It is a mathematical

The Development Of The Pair Bond
In our culture the relationship most often discussed when describing human interaction and that
which is considered the most ideal or normal relationship (demonstrated by cultural morality and
various forms of media) is that of the male female couple. This pair bonding is a phenomenon that
exists to some degree in the natural world, but occurs most prominently in humans. The
development of the pair bond is one of the single most important aspects of humanevolution,
culture, and relationships as we understand them today. This behavior has driven human sociality,
reproduction, and cultural development through evolutionary, physiological, and psychological
means. By understanding and assessing the history and evolution of pair bonding, the means by
which our cultural foundations were established can be discovered. To determine how the pair
bond has been established, one must look at the various evolutionary pressures that lead to this
type of behavior. As Herbert (2005) explains, the reproductive strategies of organisms are often
defined by biologists as r or K strategies. The former tend to be smaller and live in unstable
environments with their reproductive strategy being to produce as many offspring as possible
(potentially only once in their lifetime), many of them dying before reaching the reproductive age
of their already short life expectancy. The offspring with the highest fitness are the ones that survive
to this reproductive stage. In contrast, K strategists

Visual Effects On Free Throw Shooting Essay
Visual Effects on Free Throw Shooting What is the easiest way to earn points in a basketball
game? Free shots, also known as free throws, are given to a player after being fouled. What do
shooters focus on to score the given shots? They rely on what they can see. What if the net was
removed? Would the player s free throwaccuracy increase or decrease? Visual targets, can have a
tremendous effect on one s shot. According to McCann, A. (2012), basketballplayers looking to
make a shot would focus on the net or even the hooks that hold the net to the rim. The human
body is a servant to touch, taste, smell, hearing, and sight. Reactions to the five senses cause
chain reactions that generate a person s brain to release chemicals that produce responses. Sight
enables a shooter to be aware of his or her distance to the basket. The sense of touch allows a
shooter to realize the proximity of the basketball to his or her body. In the sport of basketball,
when someone thinks of a perfect shot, it is normally a three point shot that hits nothing but net.
What if there was no net on the rim? There would be no satisfaction of hearing the swish of the net
after successfully knocking down the field goal attempt. The net is not only a symbol to
accumulate the shot being made but also a target for several shooters. When the net is gone, it gives
the basketball goal and the rim a different appearance that, most of the time, throws off shooters
attempting to complete a

The Importance Of Bravery In Beowulf
Working a part time job, school, and a sport can be hard sometimes. Having to juggle everything
around can get tough, but you have to learn that everything won t be easy and it will get tough.
Beowulf is a warrior who doesn t back out of any battle. Even when he knows it will be a tough
battle, he still goes and proves himself to everyone. His bravery is what pushes him to help fight
these battles that no one else thinks they can. Bravery comes in all shapes and sizes, any individual
can be strong enough against anything if they put their minds to it. Bravery is a strong element that
takes place in the first sections of Beowulf. Beowulfs bravery first comes into play when he hears
of terror happening in a kingdom called Herot. There... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My hands alone shall fight for me, struggle for life against the monster ( 173 174) Beowulf s
braveness had a large part in the first part of the story, which helps build his character throughout
the story, and tests his strengths for future events. As Beowulf goes through the second parts of
the story he uses his bravery, and believes he can conquer anything coming his way. If he does not
defeat the monster than he knows he will have died a warrior s death. Beowulf sets up his trap for
Grendel the beast, and waits for him to come do his nightly killings. As Grendel goes into the
kingdom thinking , he will have another lovely meal tonight, Beowulf and his men spring from
the beds. Grendel is surprised, because everyone has normally always been asleep. A gunman s
shooting rampage at a California elementary school could have been catastrophic but all students
escaped alive thanks to the flawless lockdown executed by the heroic school staff... ( Shapiro,
Elementary schools). Beowulf made his move which ended up cutting off Grendel s arm.
Grendel runs away to die in his home and Beowulf hangs his prize. From the rafters where
Beowulf had hung it, was the monster s arm, claw and shoulder and all. (516 517). Beowulf is
happy, he has defeated the monster, and will be known in the kingdom as the brave warrior that
saved them. A little while after Beowulf heads back home, he

Difference Between Popper And Empiricism
The truth of science: Empiricists versus Popper versus Kuhn For as far as we know through
writings and drawings people have always been interested in doing some kind of science. The
word science comes from the Latin word scientia , which means knowledge . The Egyptians,
Greek, Chinese and Romans already had ideas about science. Some of these scientific ideas
were nicely documented and preserved. Up until the 20th century people used induction1 as
means of proof without questioning the principles of induction. This paper is going to explain
why according to Popper induction was not the way to do good science . And how Popper
thought science 1Induction is a specific form of reasoning in which the premises of an argument
support a conclusion, but do not ensure it.[7] worked. Then compare this with the way Kuhn
argued science worked. 2 Definitions First of all, it s really important that we re all on the same
page. This paper is based on the following assumptions. Knowledge, intelligence and observation
exist in some way or form that depends on the context. Something or someone can be observed and
when it says everything before Popper it is referring to only the Empiricists unless... Show more

He thought that induction was not a valid proof technique. Scientists should be critical and
skeptical. Trying to reach the truth was one of the strongest motives for scientific discovery [1].
But the truth does not exist according to Popper. We only get closer to it. This is why he
introduced the concept of falsification. Which is, instead of trying to prove something is true, you
try to prove it s false. If you find a counter example, the hypothesis is rejected. If you can t falsify2
it, your hypothesis become a rule until someone can falsify it. So the more you falsify, the closer
we get to the truth (according to

The Nanjing Massacre
The Nanjing Massacre occurred for six weeks, having fell to the Japanese, they began their
infamous massacre also known as the rape of Nanjing. This sequence of events not only affected
Nanjing historically, but the effect is has on current day Nanjing is nothing less than astonishing.
Throughout the six weeks an estimated 300,000 soldiers (Controversial, as there are different
numbers thrown around) and civilians were killed. The Nanjing massacre is known as one of the
most destructive mass murders in history (staff, 2009). Nanjing, one of China s greatest ancient
capitals located in eastern china is found in Jiangsu, China. Nanjing has a prominent place in
Chinese history and culture having served as the capital of various Chinese dynasties, kingdoms
and republican governments. Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty (1378 1644)
rose to throne in 1368, over throwing the Yuan dynasty and renaming it Yingtian and making it the
dynastic capital in 1368. Emerging as the political and cultural center of southeastern China at the
time, it ultimately ended in a disaster and stained Chinese history forever (Kuo, 2016). Nanjing at
the time with about a population of approximately a million was a prime target when Japan
invaded china in 1937. That November, Japanese troops made their way into the city, and the
gruesome fighting and raping went on for weeks. Japanese troops killed Chinese men assuming
they were disguised soldiers as they were stripping off citizen s

Neuromuscular Dysphagia Treatment
Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) is a type of therapy used as a form of treatment for
swallowing disorders (dysphagia). This method involves placing electrodes on one or several
external sites on the anterior neck to which an electrical current is applied to peripheral tissue
targets (Clark, Lazarus, Arvedson, Schooling, Frymark, 2009, p 362). it is hypothesized that such
stimulation aims to improve function by strengthening the swallowing musculature or by
stimulating the sensory pathways relevant to swallowing or both. To facilitate strengthening,
muscle contractions elicited via NMES generally recruit larger and more motor units than voluntary
contractions, causing metabolic responses within the muscle tissue that ultimately... Show more

The primary diagnosis associated with these participants dysphagia is stroke in three out of the
six participants , and all participants were under the age of 90 (Carnaby Mann and Crary, 2008).
The investigation was about whether NMES was effective treatment for swallowing disorders.
The participants had to obtain a score of 23 or greater on the mini mental state examination
(MMSE) and a score of 5 or less on the Functional Oral Intake Scale (FOIS), and lastly the
participants could not have received swallowing therapy within the last three months (Carnaby
Mann and Crary 2008). Before therapy began baseline scores were collected including clinical and
instrumental swallowing evaluation, documentation of weight and the participants of self
perception of swallowing ability. The Mann Assessment of swallowing ability (MASA) was used to
assess swallowing ability. A videofluoroscopic swallowing evaluation was conducted to confirm the
presence of pharyngeal dysphagia (Carnaby Mann and Crary 2008). Materials used in this
examination were thin liquid, nectar thick liquid, and pudding in both 5ml 10ml amounts, and
modified per participant. Effort was made to present each material to each participant, but if

Book Of Job Religion
The Book of Job, attempts to address the question: why do bad things happen to good people?
This story of pious pessimism revolves around Job, a righteous man who is tested as the result of
a wager between God and Satan, in which everything is taken from him. Satan questions whether,
if all of Job s riches and children are taken away from him, will he turn upon his Creator. As one
known to be a righteous man and Gods faithful servant, Job initially proclaims his unwavering
faith in his God, regardless of his circumstances. Even though Job is stripped of everything he
holds dear, he nonetheless holds firm to his faith throughout the ordeals that takes place,
confirming his faithful nature and revealing him to be a worthy follower of God. Despite being
tested, Job holds fast to his integrity. The Job tradition, as exemplified in the folk tradition found
in chapters 1 2, serves as a model of accepting both the good and bad times in our lives, while
remaining faithful to God even though things may not be in line with our desires. From this
perspective, every adverse occurrence is a test of one s loyalty to God and... Show more content on

God is involved in the test, as is clearly indicated by the limits He places on Satan s action. Thus, it
is clear that God is ultimately in charge of the outcome. When things are going the way one may
desire, it becomes relatively easy to remain faithful to God and continue to believe that a
benevolent God is in charge. There is an implicit message conveyed through this narrative:
However, when things take a sudden turn for the worse, it is during such difficult and perplexing
times that one s faith in God is needed most. The Satan, while testing Job, believed that Job would
act disloyally to God, as he thought Job only served God because it was to his benefit. The whole
point of the folk tradition is to indicate

An Analysis Of La Persistencia De La Memoria
Another surrealist work of art by Salvador Dali is La Persistencia de la Memoria (fig. 2). It was

Art in New York City, NY, with dimensions of 33 x 24.1 cm. La Persistencia de la Memoria (fig. 2)
is Salvador Dali s most famous painting. The oil painting is set in a desert area with a lake or pond
casting off into the background. The rocks in the background are very sharp but the rest of the
background is smooth. The sky is a gentle blue with yellow tones that blend together. On the left
side of the painting, is a rectangular board or platform with a reflective surface. The foreground

The clocks all look thin and noodle like with the box being rough and wooden. Finally, the white
figure has a smooth exterior with the lashes looking like actual hair. Salvador Dali s painting, La
Persistencia de la Memoria (fig. 2), represents the scientific Freudian influence. Everything
appears to be in a dream like state because nothing makes logical sense (Eggener 36). Each clock
represents a different time in life, whether it is his past, is current state, or his future. The jagged
cracks in the mountains symbolize the rough patches or cracks that one must go through in life
and the reflections in the water and platform show how those mistakes reflect who we are. The
dead tree shows that eventually we all will grow old and die. Lastly, the white figure is Salvador
Dali and how his life is slowly ticking away as well and the eyes are shut because he is reflecting
on it in a dream. The final artwork of Salvador Dali s that exemplifies Surrealism is Portrait de Paul
Eluard (fig. 3). This artwork was painted in 1929 is also an oil on canvas. It can be found in the
Dali Theatre and Museum, Figueres, Spain. The dimensions of Portrait de Paul Eluard (fig. 3)
are 33 x 25 cm. The painting is of a man named Paul Eluard who was a French poet and one of the
founders of Surrealism. Eluard was also Dali s futures wife s boyfriend at the time. Portrait de

Cunninghamella Elegans
C.Resistance of Cunnighamella elegans to different concentrations of studied metals:
In the present work, low concentrations of manganese could stimulate the Cunninghamella elegans
growth. Interestingly, increase the manganese concentration to 30 ppm was optimum for the fungus
to give the highest growth rate and the best sporulation comparing with control and other
manganese concentrations (Fig. 35). Increasing the manganese concentration to 50 ppm recorded
the same growth as control and then this rate suddenly decreased with 100 ppm manganese. The
fungus completely killed with 300 ppm manganese and above (Table 33, Fig. 34). There is no
appreciable difference in growth of Cunninghamella elegans with increasing concentration (1 ppm
100 ppm) of copper and markedly decreased with increasing metal concentration (300 ppm 1000
ppm). Souza et al., (2005), revealed the physiological aspects of the growth of C. elegans in the
presence of copper, whereas C. elegans is able to grow in copper containing medium and that the
metal has a stimulatory effect on biomass production. Therefore, the fungal growth in control
media was slower than in the presence of copper. In the present study, we confirmed the previous
results but with a limited amount of copper in the culture media (1 ppm 50 ppm) while the growth
inhibited with high concentrations (100 ppm to 1000 ppm) and going slower than control. Luciana

Effectiveness of a Jury Essay
Evaluate the effectiveness of the jury system in the criminal trial
Juries exists in the criminal trial to listen to the case presented to them and, as a third, non bias
party, decide beyond reasonable doubt if the accused is guilty. For the use of a trial by juror to be
effective, no bias should exists in the jurors judgments, the jurors should understand clearly their
role and key legal terms, and the jury system should represent the communities standards and views
whilst upholding the rights of the accused and society and remain cost and time effective.
The jury system has been used in the criminal trial since the Constitution stated the trial on

This amendment was introduced after the Bruce Burrell case (2005) where, after two weeks of
deliberations, all jurors were firmly in favor of one verdict except for one who was firmly
against the majority verdict. The case illustrated the vulnerabilities of the previous jury system in
creating a time and cost ineffective measure of trialing defendants where justice was not
necessarily achieved. Another recent reform is the passing of legislation in 2006 which provided
three additional spare jurors to be empanelled on lengthy criminal trials for example in the case R
v. Wood. These recent reforms in legislation have led to the jury system being more cost and time
effective in the criminal trial. Allowing a majority vote instead of strict unanimous verdict reduces
the risk of a hung jury and hence prevents jury bribing and jury disagreements. By avoiding a
retrial, the criminal trial process saves huge amounts of time and money for all individuals
involved and hence maintains the integrity of the jury system. Equally, allowing spare jurors in
lengthy trials is hugely cost and time effective as retrials are often avoided in the case where there
is misconduct amongst the jurors.
Although the jury system can be argued to be an

Environmental Challenges Of The American Automobile Industry
Environmental Challenges in the American Automobile Industry The American Auto Industry has
grown ever since it s upgraded in the early 1900s. Although the design for the modern car was
produced in Germany and France in the late 1800s, Americans controlled the industry in the first
half of the twentieth century. Henry Ford innovated mass production systems that enhanced model,
with Ford, General Motors and Chrysler beginning as the Big Three auto firms by the 1920s ,(Foner

environmental concerns and risks around the world, particularly in the United States. Many of the
concerns in this industry include; global race, modern technology for controlling the product, the
impacts of emission on the environment and the government s answer, as well as customer
sentiments about the outcome. Much like any manufacturing, the American auto industry is
directed to global competition. As declared beginning, the car was first developed in Germany
and France. In 1995, the United States and Japan made a business contract that supplied more

Coral Reef Essay
Coral reefs are diverse underwater ecosystems that are held together by calcium carbonate
structures secreted by corals. Reefs are built by colonies of different species that are found in
marine water. Reefs are home to a variety of creatures such as fish, urchins, sponges, sharks, turtles,
jelly fish, and thousands of other species and plants. Coralreefs are the most diverse of all marine
eco systems and often called the rainforest of the sea. The total area of the world s coral reefs
amount to less then one quarter of 1% of the entire marine environment. Which is crazy because
coral reefs are home to 25% of all marine life on the planet. Coral reefs have survived tens of
thousands of years of natural change, but major threats from mankind, pollution, and climate
change have caused this under water eco system to have serious threats in the future. Coral reefs
are dying around the world. Already human activity and climate change have destroyed a quarter

The Contradictory Treatment Of Violence

Unforgiven: The Contradictory Treatment of Violence
Violence has always been a crucial factor in many genres of cinemas and film productions. The
Western genre and the film in the genre is a fascinating approach to analyze the treatment of
violence. Violence in the Westerngenre has changed multiple times into completely different but
interesting view points over the course of history. The traditional western treatment of violence is
related to the myth of purgative violence, or the idea of regeneration through violence suggested by
Richard Slotkin. In the traditional Western treatment of violence, violence is considered honored
and purified because the conduction of violence eliminates and eradicates the otherness in the
society and restore stability as a direct result of violence. Moving to 1960s, the trend of Western
genre shifted from classical western to the theme of revisionist western. Revisionist western, unlike
classical western, strongly criticizes violence. Revisionist western focuses on the lawlessness of the
American west, depicts the randomness and irrationality of violence, and destroys the romanticism
of violence by replacing it with a more realistic and authentic approach to the real execution and
consequence of violence in the west.
Unforgiven directed by Clint Eastwood is a popular American Western movie filmed in 1992.
However, the film meets huge

How Does Society s Ridicule Affect Frankenstein
Both Victor and his creation suffer internally from the ridicule of society. Victor has always been a
family man, and was interested in learning. Eventually, Victor would find himself in a prominent
institute where he becomes obsessed with creating life. To give more insight, Telgen Diane explains
Readers get the distinct feeling that Victor s inquisitive nature causes his emotional and physical
peril because he cannot balance his intellectual and social interactions. For instance, when he leaves
home to attend the University of Ingolstadt, he immerses himself in his experiment and forgets
about the family who lovingly supported him throughout his childhood (Diane 188). His family was
very prominent and were on the top of society. Internally... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the book they both suffer the same fate dying alone which is a fear Victor and his creature
especially had. Victor always prided himself around his family, and was always the most
wretched when they passed. The creature wanted a mate to bond with no matter how miserable
the conditions were because at least he would have someone to love and die with. Victor failed
in doing this, and suffered the consequences for his failure to comply to the simple needs of his
creation. To further analyze, T.J Madigan explains If Frankenstein can be faulted as indeed he
can it is not for hubris, but rather for the very qualities he mentions above, cowardice and
carelessness. For he performs his operation without telling anyone else, and when his creation
comes to life, he rejects it by running away and hoping the creature will die. This rejection of
what he has brought about his failure to share his findings with the scientific community, or the
people around him ultimately leads to tragedy (Madigan). Victor was too afraid of being ousted
by the scientific community if he shared this. If Victor had done so, he may have been either
taken as a joke or an evil doer. Victor may have had help to control his creature and avoid death all
over, but it is because of the ridicule of the society that stopped him from sharing his

Should Shale Gas Controversy
Shale gas controversy has been ongoing in New Brunswick for a number of years now, when the
outgone Congressive premier: David Alward refused to stop the commencement of shale fracking
in the region, there was an upsurge by the residents. Fracking is a form of natural gas extraction,
where millions of gallons of pressurized and chemical treated water are pumped into shale to
extract gases embedded in the deposits. Most of the residents of Richibuto New Brunswick are
arguing that, although economic growth is important, it should not be at the detriment of the
environment. However, the government and some residents are of the opinion that, because the
province is poor, prioritizing economic growth over environmental concern is paramount. If
fracking is allowed in the province, it will create more jobs, attract private investors Another
major concern raised was the issue of water pollution and wastage . Shale is a dense rock found
two miles underground, if fracking isn t done correctly, chemicals used in fracking can leak to the
surface making water undrinkable.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

My Reflection Of The Humanities And Communications Program
The Humanities and Communications Program was a mystery to me when I first heard about
it. Many of my friends were in the Math/Science Program, so I heard many stories about projects
and activities done there. I only knew a few people in the Humanities Program, so when I got
the acceptance letter, I had a mix of emotions. I had worry and fear along with joy, but I was
tensed about the people I would meet and the different projects I would have to do. The worry
and fear ebbed away after I met my classmates. There were students from incredibly broad
backgrounds whom I would be working with. I was surprised when the acuity of my peers and the
vast amount of ideas they had. As I went through sixth and seventh grade, I formed strong
friendships with my peers. Although the application process and program at first were daunting, I
m glad I decided to choose the center program rather than going to my home middle school.
I first heard of the middle school magnet program when I was in fourth grade. A few of my friends
were attending the the Math Science Program and were pouring their feelings about it. Being a
fourth grader with limited knowledge about the Upcounty Center Program, I felt out of place with
them, so I decided to listen to their conversation. I learned about what exactly the Upcounty Center
Program was and the esteemed reputation it had among our family friend group. In fact, it wasn t

After Dagny s resignation from Taggart Transcontinental, James randomly without any

arrangements for Dr. Charles Morrison to travel on a diesel engine train to an important business
meeting. The president of Taggart Transcontinental, James, did not inquire in any means about
this schedule, and was abruptly awoken in the middle of the night by Dr. Morrison himself
through an angry telegram. James was highly intimidated by Morrison s words and called Locey
to tell him to fix the situation immediately as well as to tell Locey that he was never called in the
night when Dagny was in control. These words from James support, once again, the concept that
he relies on more competent individuals of society, and how he does not take responsibility when
it is necessary. The words that James said to Locey also imply that the success of Taggart
Transcontinental was completely due to Dagny, and how she ran the company. This point is
magnified in the following actions taken by James once he finds out that the Taggart Tunnel has
collapsed, as well as the explosion between the diesel engine train and the Army Munitions killed
everyone on board. James immediately contacts Dagny though her assistant Eddie, and then he
destroys Dagny s resignation letter once she arrives at Taggart Transcontinental. James actions are
seen as highly manipulative, as well as irresponsible. James ignored the extreme situations that were
occurring at the company and used it to entice Dagny to return to Taggart Transcontinental. These
previously mentioned actions taken by James were foreseen by his first words in the novel, which
implied his evasion of his obligations, and his destructive and selfish

Justification for Assassinating Hitler at the Beginning of...
I do believe that the assassination of Hitler would have been justified at the start of World War 2
based upon the facts and what constitutes for a legal assassination under the International Law. I
feel personally that it should have been executed under the just war theory and based upon morally
correct assumptions that an assassinationof Hitler would have prevented the deaths innocent Jews.
But, legally at that time and place, under the rules of International Law, I believe it would have
been allowed and was attempted unsuccessfully, based upon the fact Hitler killed himself before
he could be found and assassinated. Not knowing the exact details and with further digging into
the facts, I found Hitler was the ultimate person calling the shots. Under the presumptions, the
leader has to have ultimate control over the military. Whether other governments knew at the
time all of the facts or not, we know now so, I feel comfortable stating my opinion. After much
research, because I never had to study Hitler, I had to ask myself several questions before
coming to an opinion, not just based on my moral beliefs but, technical ones. For instance, at the
beginning of the war did we know of the concentration camps, did we know exactly how many
Jews were being killed, was there anyone else standing behind Hitler or was he acting alone? The
facts of what we know now regarding what happened before and after the war, is enough to justify
an assassination of Hitler. The

Russia s Violation of International Law As a result of their current manipulative actions in Crimea,
Russia has shown a willful disregard for the Treaty it signed at the Fourth Geneva Convention in
1949, wherein all civilians are entitled to protection from armed conflict between two countries.
Geneva Conventions broadly outline the fundamental rights of wartime detainees for all citizens
and military personnel, create assurances for the injured and debilitated, and set up insurances for
citizens in and around a battle region. In this manner, the Geneva Convention has made rules and
guidelines to ensure that all humanity is entitled to basic rights. The Fourth Geneva ... Show more

In turn, this would lead to subtle influences by Russia. Russia has demonstrated by its recent
actions that it is driven by power and greed. It has shown a willful ignorance of civilian
casualties as it has they want what Cremia has to offer. The real question is what does Crimea
have that Russia wants that bad that they are breaking the Fourth Geneva Convention for? Well
Cremia is very rich in natural oil and gas which they want to help because Russia Siberian
energy reserves are dwindling. Cremia is also known for its amazing seaside cliffs and summer
mansions which does attract a lot of tourists. Russia has also taken down major water plants which
have cut off Ukrainians from water supply. Back in 1947 Joseph Stalin who was the leader of the
Soviet Union party signed the Fourth Geneva Convention to ensure a good future for his country
and people. Look at what Putin has done he is disrespecting his predecessor who built his country

First Crusade. The events that occurred set in motion a fundamental change in European society,
religion, and politics, and the ramifications have been thoroughly examined. In spite of the
significant body of scholarship on this crusade, and the extensive documentation from medieval
sources, many elements of the First Crusadestill are debated or remain uncertain. One such aspect
is the role that religion and sincere piety played in the motivations of the crusaders and in the call

The actions of Pope Urban II in calling for a military pilgrimage were deeply political, but he
was also informed by religious concerns and worries over the moral integrity of Latin
Christendom in his decision. A major political dimension that manifests with Urban II preaching
the First Crusade is a unification of the Eastern and Western churches.1 While Urban II s address
at Clermont does not specifically address this aim, there is some body of evidence to support
this as a political aspiration such as how Urban II had been contacted by envoys of the emperor
Alexius, who requested military aid.2 While accounts of the address made at Clermont vary, most
address the recent loss of territory the Byzantine Empire had experienced, and the depredations
made against Eastern Christians. The account made by Baldric of Dol has Urban II address that
your own blood brothers, your companions, your associates (for you are sons of the same Christ
and the same church) are either subjected in their inherited homes to other masters, or are driven
from them, or they come as beggars among us .3 With the focus on the plight of Eastern Christians,
however, there is still a spiritual element present the crusade becomes a moral imperative, to stop
the depredations of infidels in the holy spaces of Christianity. While the support of the Byzantine

Moral Constraints In Macbeth
Approximately 410 years ago, a man by the name of William Shakespeare began indulging in
one of his most famous dramas The Tragedy of Macbeth, set in Scotland, the play dramatizes the
damaging physical and psychological effects of political ambition on those who seek power for
their own sake. Shakespeare wrote this drama for King James I because he finances most of
Shakespeare s dramas, enjoys watching the dramas performed, and believes to be a descendant of
Banquo. Most of Shakespeare s dramas have skyrocketing plots that end in a surprising, yet well
deserving brutal death. Even though the plots intrigue the audience, the supernatural mysteries of
the drama makes Shakespeare s work something to remember. This drama is Shakespeare s shortest

connection to the songs that she has written in regards to her father and the struggles she has faced

they are not alone in their struggles. Watching the judges including Keith Urban sit and cry at her
performance, showed how much this song really spoke to so many people, and got me crying even

(Disclosure ,2008) In Chipotle s SEC filing they disclosed the prospectus statement, financial
data, and future plans. Through there prospectus statement Chipotle makes it clear that they are
set apart from other chains by serving Food with Integrity . However, there are risks involved in
investing, they are as follows: the number of new stores rapidly being established, lack of
independent operating history, ability to continue to grow and profit, and health and safety
concerns regarding the ingredients used among others. Although the risk factors are in place,
Chipotle s financial data provides more assurance of returned profit on investment. In their
Rapidly Improving Financial Performance section of the SEC filing they state a 130% increase
in revenue in 2004 of 470.7 million up from 2002 and 49% up from 2003. And, average sales in
new restaurants after 90 trading days increased 24.9% a total of $303,390. From 2002 2004
Chipotle opened a total of 237 stores. Their increased financial growth is attributed to word of
mouth sales and quicker implementation of Chipotle culture in the area of the new restaurant.
Also, more people are aware of Chipotle, thus increasing average opening sales.( Form S 1/A ,2005)
The future plans of Chipotle is to expand operations and sales by opening new stores. They forecast
opening a total of 75 stores in 2005 of which 58 were already opened at the time of the SEC filing.

Cultural Differences Between Surena And Nortena
To any outsider, Surena and Nortena girls seem to be one and the same. Without an understanding
of the minute and significant differences between each distinct group of girls, it is easy to group
them together, for the sake of simplicity. Indeed, many polling organization underestimate the
differences between different sects of latina girls and often come up confused on why their
predictions were wrong. However, with differences come similarities. Each group of girls belong to
the same ethnic group, more or less. This means, that despite their territorial differences, similarities
can be found. Individually, all the girls are different in one way shape or form. Their various
upbringings and home lives impact their outlooks and mannerisms... Show more content on

T Rex, who is a very vocal advocate for the virtues of Nortena culture, did admitt that ...both groups
have the same idea and that they are all ...truly mexican till the day (we) die (Mendoza Denton,
111). When Nortenas and Surenas are viewed through the lens of only mexican girls, the differences
between the two groups seem insurmountable. However, when Nortena and Surena girls are
compared with other ethnic groups, such as caucasian and asian girls, their differences seem
smaller. This isn t to undermine the differences of each group, rather the girls have no choice. The
world that many mexican girls live in is stacked against them. English as a Second Language
classes do not count towards college requirements, many girls have family members who are in the
states undocumented, and outside of their high school and immediate community, many latinxs
face harsh racial stereotypes. Nortena and Surena ideologies may attempt to overcome these
barriers different, but as a whole each group is working towards a better life. While Nortena girls
would often call Surena girls wetbacks or tell them to go back to Mexico, they didn t tolerate other
non mexican doing the same. The obstacles that Nortena and Surena girls faced created a sense of
sameness, an understanding that both groups faced the same discrimination, that helped maintain

Research Question: How did Athens system of direct democracy contribute to the success of its
military engagements during the 5th century?
Bibliography Tridimas, George. A political economy perspective of direct democracy in ancient

http://dx.doi.org.ezproxy.liberty.edu/10.1007/s10602 010 9093 5 Athens possessed a very complex
system of government. Since it is still studied to this day there are quite a few factors worth
researching. It developed democracy to a higher form and is highly revered for its ability to institute
a system of direct democracy and allow its citizens to contribute to the negotiations in various

Editing the research question to include success of military engagements as well as a specific
period appeared to be the right choice when reviewing research. The sources give an excellent
perspective to Athens democracy and how it could benefit their society. It is important to have
sources that support the topic sentence and can provide a somewhat thorough analysis of whatever
points the writer is attempting to prove or illustrate.
Athens military revolution for the prior assignment was briefly covered in one source, the other
sources provided excellent material but did not directly support the topic sentence. Through editing
the research question and more thorough evaluation of the sources, the research better supports the
newly edited research question. It is important to carefully read one s research to avoid such a
mistake and instead provide a concise topic that is adequately supported by the research

Food Safety Is Extremely Severe Worldwide
Food Safety in China
Food safety tends to be a hot topic in Food safety these years. Though the meaning is similar,
different from food security, food safety concentrates more on health aspects rather than
sufficiency. So what is food safety? Food safety is a scientific discipline describing handling,
preparation, and storage of food in ways that prevent foodborne illness. (AmercianPeanutCouncil,
2014) This prevents civils from severe health hazards and in this way is the food safety similar to
the definition of food defense.
I collected data from different websites and summarized them in a chart. Here is the
performance of countries based on their 2015 food safety score. (Charlebois, 2014) Based on
this chart, China ranks 42 in the whole world. It s clear that the situation of China s food safety
is extremely severe worldwide. The cause of the food safety problem is intricate; however, before
I explain the complex cause of food safety in China, I d like to illustrate the phenomenon of China
s food safety problem which will definitely promote the comprehensibility of the causes of food
safety problems.
People from different fields hold different views upon food safety phenomenon. One of the
directors of Asia Institute Yan stated that Food safety problems constituted a new, urgent, and
multifaceted challenge to Chinese people, society, and the state, involving a number of social,
political, and Beck s theory of risk society. (2012) Food safety problems affect Chinese

Gender Discrimination in Boys and Girls by Alice Munro
Children are more prone to be obedient towards their parental figures (heteronomous obedience)
while growing up. In the short story Boys and Girls by Alice Munro, life during the twentieth
century is portrayed. The narrator, who has portrayed herself as a nameless young girl, struggles
for freedom from inequality in her society. The disobedience in Boys and Girls is clarified in Erich
Fromms essay, Disobedience as a Psychological and Moral Problem (DPMP). The narrator of
Boys and Girls goes through different phases of obedience due to her authoritarian and humanistic
conscience (Fromm 10). Also, by being disobedient she has control of her own authorities.
Humanistic conscience stops her from doing something inhuman and or from being guilty; it s the
inner voice. As well as her comfort levels and the changes of her obedience impact her much to her
surprise. The young girlis well aware of what happens around her and is disobedient because of her
humanistic conscience , which has her in a battle against genderbinary and stereotypes.
The girl is young; she has no place to go, so therefore doesn t really have the option to disobey
her parents. The little girl is obedient to her parents when they are around. She does what she is
told to and helps her parents by doing some work at home. The girl helped her father [work
outside] when he cut the long grass, and the lamb s quarter and also helped [carry] water (Munro).
The girl valued her father more than her

The Integrative Model Of Organizational Behavior
Organizational commitment is one of the two individual outcomes derived from individual
mechanisms like job satisfaction, stress, motivation, trust, justice, ethics, and learning and decision
making. These mechanisms and outcomes can be found on the integrative model of organizational
behavior (OB). Colquitt, LePine, and Wesson defined organizational commitmentin their
Organizational Behavior 5th Edition book as the desire of an employee to remain a member of the
organization (p 64).
Being committed to an organization and going through different commitment stages is something
that I personally experienced at my job. For the past four years, I have been working at Dow
AgroSciences LLC legal department. I started there as a high school Co Op and continued an
employment with this company throughout college up to present time.
Reviewing types of commitment, I can tell that I experienced all three of them through different
stages of my career at Dow. During my first two years, I definitely felt an emotion based
affective commitment, which defined as the desire to stay with the company due to an emotional
attachment to the organization and its employees. With this commitment, employees stay
because they want to (65). I was hired with two of my friends from high school, so be able to
work with them and building closer relationships was a big emotion based factor. Other factors
that made me want to stay there was the professional atmosphere, flexible work hours, friendly
coworkers, goal driven job duties, and supportive supervisor. Having co workers that thank me for
everything I do, motivates me to do my best at all tasks and built a desire in me to exceed others
expectations through my performance.
In the past two years, my commitment type slightly shifted to the continuance and normative
commitment. Because two of my friends left Dow and ratio of tasks challenge and my
educational growth has not been balanced, I do not feel as motivated and interested in the work as
I was in the beginning of my career. Going through the Kelley School of Business helped me to
acquire knowledge and skills that exceed my job tasks skills level. Unfortunately, this creates
boredom and assists with withdrawal behavior.

Questions On Resting Heart Rate Case study: Clark Kent Age: 17 Height: 5 11 Weight: 165 pounds Gender: Male Resting Heart Rate: 75 bpm Clark is a junior in high school and is eager to gain some muscle mass and strength before his final football season next year. He knows very little about nutrition and his diet consists primarily of processed foods (i.e., fast food, cafeteria food, etc.). He eats two or three meals per day on average. Clark s training regimen has been sporadic and inconsistent recently so he is coming to you for help. He is anxious to be at his best from the start of his senior season, which is three months away. Using the information above, calculate the client s BMR and DCR BMR is the Basal Metabolic Rate while DCR is the Daily Calories Requirement The BMR can be calculated by the formula BMR= 66+ (13.7 x weight in kg) + (5 x height in cm) (6.8 x age in years) for male Here= 66+ (13.7 x 74.84 kg) + (5 x 180.34 cm) (6.8 x 17 year) = 66 + 1025.308 + 901.7 115.6 = 1877.408 DCR= BMR x activity Multiplier = BMR x 1.55 (moderate activity) (3 5 days a week) = 1877.408 x 1.55 = 2909.98 Calculate the client s Target Heart Rateusing the Karvonen formula (you will determine the appropriate target heart rate for this client given the information gathered in the initial assessment and evaluation) Include the following in your case study submission: The Formula helps us to find out target heart rate (HR) training zone. • 4. The Development Of The Pair Bond In our culture the relationship most often discussed when describing human interaction and that which is considered the most ideal or normal relationship (demonstrated by cultural morality and various forms of media) is that of the male female couple. This pair bonding is a phenomenon that exists to some degree in the natural world, but occurs most prominently in humans. The development of the pair bond is one of the single most important aspects of humanevolution, culture, and relationships as we understand them today. This behavior has driven human sociality, reproduction, and cultural development through evolutionary, physiological, and psychological means. By understanding and assessing the history and evolution of pair bonding, the means by which our cultural foundations were established can be discovered. To determine how the pair bond has been established, one must look at the various evolutionary pressures that lead to this type of behavior. As Herbert (2005) explains, the reproductive strategies of organisms are often defined by biologists as r or K strategies. The former tend to be smaller and live in unstable environments with their reproductive strategy being to produce as many offspring as possible (potentially only once in their lifetime), many of them dying before reaching the reproductive age of their already short life expectancy. The offspring with the highest fitness are the ones that survive to this reproductive stage. In contrast, K strategists ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Visual Effects On Free Throw Shooting Essay Visual Effects on Free Throw Shooting What is the easiest way to earn points in a basketball game? Free shots, also known as free throws, are given to a player after being fouled. What do shooters focus on to score the given shots? They rely on what they can see. What if the net was removed? Would the player s free throwaccuracy increase or decrease? Visual targets, can have a tremendous effect on one s shot. According to McCann, A. (2012), basketballplayers looking to make a shot would focus on the net or even the hooks that hold the net to the rim. The human body is a servant to touch, taste, smell, hearing, and sight. Reactions to the five senses cause chain reactions that generate a person s brain to release chemicals that produce responses. Sight enables a shooter to be aware of his or her distance to the basket. The sense of touch allows a shooter to realize the proximity of the basketball to his or her body. In the sport of basketball, when someone thinks of a perfect shot, it is normally a three point shot that hits nothing but net. What if there was no net on the rim? There would be no satisfaction of hearing the swish of the net after successfully knocking down the field goal attempt. The net is not only a symbol to accumulate the shot being made but also a target for several shooters. When the net is gone, it gives the basketball goal and the rim a different appearance that, most of the time, throws off shooters attempting to complete a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Difference Between Popper And Empiricism The truth of science: Empiricists versus Popper versus Kuhn For as far as we know through writings and drawings people have always been interested in doing some kind of science. The word science comes from the Latin word scientia , which means knowledge . The Egyptians, Greek, Chinese and Romans already had ideas about science. Some of these scientific ideas were nicely documented and preserved. Up until the 20th century people used induction1 as means of proof without questioning the principles of induction. This paper is going to explain why according to Popper induction was not the way to do good science . And how Popper thought science 1Induction is a specific form of reasoning in which the premises of an argument support a conclusion, but do not ensure it.[7] worked. Then compare this with the way Kuhn argued science worked. 2 Definitions First of all, it s really important that we re all on the same page. This paper is based on the following assumptions. Knowledge, intelligence and observation exist in some way or form that depends on the context. Something or someone can be observed and when it says everything before Popper it is referring to only the Empiricists unless... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He thought that induction was not a valid proof technique. Scientists should be critical and skeptical. Trying to reach the truth was one of the strongest motives for scientific discovery [1]. But the truth does not exist according to Popper. We only get closer to it. This is why he introduced the concept of falsification. Which is, instead of trying to prove something is true, you try to prove it s false. If you find a counter example, the hypothesis is rejected. If you can t falsify2 it, your hypothesis become a rule until someone can falsify it. So the more you falsify, the closer we get to the truth (according to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This sequence of events not only affected Nanjing historically, but the effect is has on current day Nanjing is nothing less than astonishing. Throughout the six weeks an estimated 300,000 soldiers (Controversial, as there are different numbers thrown around) and civilians were killed. The Nanjing massacre is known as one of the most destructive mass murders in history (staff, 2009). Nanjing, one of China s greatest ancient capitals located in eastern china is found in Jiangsu, China. Nanjing has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture having served as the capital of various Chinese dynasties, kingdoms and republican governments. Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty (1378 1644) rose to throne in 1368, over throwing the Yuan dynasty and renaming it Yingtian and making it the dynastic capital in 1368. Emerging as the political and cultural center of southeastern China at the time, it ultimately ended in a disaster and stained Chinese history forever (Kuo, 2016). Nanjing at the time with about a population of approximately a million was a prime target when Japan invaded china in 1937. • 9. Neuromuscular Dysphagia Treatment Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) is a type of therapy used as a form of treatment for swallowing disorders (dysphagia). This method involves placing electrodes on one or several external sites on the anterior neck to which an electrical current is applied to peripheral tissue targets (Clark, Lazarus, Arvedson, Schooling, Frymark, 2009, p 362). it is hypothesized that such stimulation aims to improve function by strengthening the swallowing musculature or by stimulating the sensory pathways relevant to swallowing or both. • 11. Book Of Job Religion The Book of Job, attempts to address the question: why do bad things happen to good people? This story of pious pessimism revolves around Job, a righteous man who is tested as the result of a wager between God and Satan, in which everything is taken from him. Satan questions whether, if all of Job s riches and children are taken away from him, will he turn upon his Creator. As one known to be a righteous man and Gods faithful servant, Job initially proclaims his unwavering faith in his God, regardless of his circumstances. Even though Job is stripped of everything he holds dear, he nonetheless holds firm to his faith throughout the ordeals that takes place, confirming his faithful nature and revealing him to be a worthy follower of God. Despite being tested, Job holds fast to his integrity. The Job tradition, as exemplified in the folk tradition found in chapters 1 2, serves as a model of accepting both the good and bad times in our lives, while remaining faithful to God even though things may not be in line with our desires. From this perspective, every adverse occurrence is a test of one s loyalty to God and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is an implicit message conveyed through this narrative: However, when things take a sudden turn for the worse, it is during such difficult and perplexing times that one s faith in God is needed most. Salvador Dali s painting, La Persistencia de la Memoria (fig. 2), represents the scientific Freudian influence. Everything appears to be in a dream like state because nothing makes logical sense (Eggener 36). Each clock represents a different time in life, whether it is his past, is current state, or his future. The jagged cracks in the mountains symbolize the rough patches or cracks that one must go through in life and the reflections in the water and platform show how those mistakes reflect who we are. The dead tree shows that eventually we all will grow old and die. Cunninghamella Elegans C.Resistance of Cunnighamella elegans to different concentrations of studied metals: In the present work, low concentrations of manganese could stimulate the Cunninghamella elegans growth. Interestingly, increase the manganese concentration to 30 ppm was optimum for the fungus to give the highest growth rate and the best sporulation comparing with control and other manganese concentrations (Fig. 35). Increasing the manganese concentration to 50 ppm recorded the same growth as control and then this rate suddenly decreased with 100 ppm manganese. The fungus completely killed with 300 ppm manganese and above (Table 33, Fig. 34). There is no appreciable difference in growth of Cunninghamella elegans with increasing concentration (1 ppm 100 ppm) of copper and markedly decreased with increasing metal concentration (300 ppm 1000 ppm). Souza et al., (2005), revealed the physiological aspects of the growth of C. elegans in the presence of copper, whereas C. elegans is able to grow in copper containing medium and that the metal has a stimulatory effect on biomass production. Therefore, the fungal growth in control media was slower than in the presence of copper. In the present study, we confirmed the previous results but with a limited amount of copper in the culture media (1 ppm 50 ppm) while the growth inhibited with high concentrations (100 ppm to 1000 ppm) and going slower than control. For the use of a trial by juror to be effective, no bias should exists in the jurors judgments, the jurors should understand clearly their role and key legal terms, and the jury system should represent the communities standards and views whilst upholding the rights of the accused and society and remain cost and time effective. The jury system has been used in the criminal trial since the Constitution stated the trial on indictment of any offence against any law of the Commonwealth shall be by jury. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This amendment was introduced after the Bruce Burrell case (2005) where, after two weeks of deliberations, all jurors were firmly in favor of one verdict except for one who was firmly against the majority verdict. The case illustrated the vulnerabilities of the previous jury system in creating a time and cost ineffective measure of trialing defendants where justice was not necessarily achieved. Another recent reform is the passing of legislation in 2006 which provided three additional spare jurors to be empanelled on lengthy criminal trials for example in the case R v. Wood. These recent reforms in legislation have led to the jury system being more cost and time effective in the criminal trial. Allowing a majority vote instead of strict unanimous verdict reduces the risk of a hung jury and hence prevents jury bribing and jury disagreements. By avoiding a retrial, the criminal trial process saves huge amounts of time and money for all individuals involved and hence maintains the integrity of the jury system. Equally, allowing spare jurors in lengthy trials is hugely cost and time effective as retrials are often avoided in the case where there is misconduct amongst the jurors. Although the design for the modern car was produced in Germany and France in the late 1800s, Americans controlled the industry in the first half of the twentieth century. Henry Ford innovated mass production systems that enhanced model, with Ford, General Motors and Chrysler beginning as the Big Three auto firms by the 1920s ,(Foner Garrity 1991) But this manufacturing has continually been one of the best manufacturing for environmental concerns and risks around the world, particularly in the United States. Many of the concerns in this industry include; global race, modern technology for controlling the product, the impacts of emission on the environment and the government s answer, as well as customer sentiments about the outcome. Much like any manufacturing, the American auto industry is directed to global competition. As declared beginning, the car was first developed in Germany and France. In 1995, the United States and Japan made a business contract that supplied more seller outlets and provided natural replacement part is selling in each other s countries, (Nauss 1995). • 20. Coral Reef Essay Coral reefs are diverse underwater ecosystems that are held together by calcium carbonate structures secreted by corals. Reefs are built by colonies of different species that are found in marine water. Reefs are home to a variety of creatures such as fish, urchins, sponges, sharks, turtles, jelly fish, and thousands of other species and plants. Coralreefs are the most diverse of all marine eco systems and often called the rainforest of the sea. The total area of the world s coral reefs amount to less then one quarter of 1% of the entire marine environment. Which is crazy because coral reefs are home to 25% of all marine life on the planet. Coral reefs have survived tens of thousands of years of natural change, but major threats from mankind, pollution, and climate change have caused this under water eco system to have serious threats in the future. Coral reefs are dying around the world. Already human activity and climate change have destroyed a quarter of the world s coral reefs. The rest of the remaining coral reefs are in great danger. While these beautiful and colorful underwater habitats flourish all around the world, there are many factors that can affect coral reefs and cause devastating outcomes to marine life. Climate change, pollution, over fishing, and disease outbreaks each play a significant role to negative and damaging effects of coral reefs. It is important to be more involved with this environmental issue to help take the right steps to saving the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Contradictory Treatment Of Violence Mintian Zhou Jacob Burg University Writing Seminar: The Western: Cowpunchers, Gunslingers, and Beyond Unforgiven: The Contradictory Treatment of Violence Violence has always been a crucial factor in many genres of cinemas and film productions. The Western genre and the film in the genre is a fascinating approach to analyze the treatment of violence. Violence in the Westerngenre has changed multiple times into completely different but interesting view points over the course of history. The traditional western treatment of violence is related to the myth of purgative violence, or the idea of regeneration through violence suggested by Richard Slotkin. In the traditional Western treatment of violence, violence is considered honored and purified because the conduction of violence eliminates and eradicates the otherness in the society and restore stability as a direct result of violence. Moving to 1960s, the trend of Western genre shifted from classical western to the theme of revisionist western. Revisionist western, unlike classical western, strongly criticizes violence. Revisionist western focuses on the lawlessness of the American west, depicts the randomness and irrationality of violence, and destroys the romanticism of violence by replacing it with a more realistic and authentic approach to the real execution and consequence of violence in the west. Unforgiven directed by Clint Eastwood is a popular American Western movie filmed in 1992. However, the film meets huge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. How Does Society s Ridicule Affect Frankenstein Both Victor and his creation suffer internally from the ridicule of society. Victor has always been a family man, and was interested in learning. Eventually, Victor would find himself in a prominent institute where he becomes obsessed with creating life. To give more insight, Telgen Diane explains Readers get the distinct feeling that Victor s inquisitive nature causes his emotional and physical peril because he cannot balance his intellectual and social interactions. For instance, when he leaves home to attend the University of Ingolstadt, he immerses himself in his experiment and forgets about the family who lovingly supported him throughout his childhood (Diane 188). His family was very prominent and were on the top of society. Internally... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the book they both suffer the same fate dying alone which is a fear Victor and his creature especially had. Victor always prided himself around his family, and was always the most wretched when they passed. The creature wanted a mate to bond with no matter how miserable the conditions were because at least he would have someone to love and die with. Victor failed in doing this, and suffered the consequences for his failure to comply to the simple needs of his creation. To further analyze, T.J Madigan explains If Frankenstein can be faulted as indeed he can it is not for hubris, but rather for the very qualities he mentions above, cowardice and carelessness. For he performs his operation without telling anyone else, and when his creation comes to life, he rejects it by running away and hoping the creature will die. This rejection of what he has brought about his failure to share his findings with the scientific community, or the people around him ultimately leads to tragedy (Madigan). Victor was too afraid of being ousted by the scientific community if he shared this. If Victor had done so, he may have been either taken as a joke or an evil doer. Victor may have had help to control his creature and avoid death all over, but it is because of the ridicule of the society that stopped him from sharing his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The president of Taggart Transcontinental, James, did not inquire in any means about this schedule, and was abruptly awoken in the middle of the night by Dr. Morrison himself through an angry telegram. James was highly intimidated by Morrison s words and called Locey to tell him to fix the situation immediately as well as to tell Locey that he was never called in the night when Dagny was in control. These words from James support, once again, the concept that he relies on more competent individuals of society, and how he does not take responsibility when it is necessary. The words that James said to Locey also imply that the success of Taggart Transcontinental was completely due to Dagny, and how she ran the company. I do believe that the assassination of Hitler would have been justified at the start of World War 2 based upon the facts and what constitutes for a legal assassination under the International Law. I feel personally that it should have been executed under the just war theory and based upon morally correct assumptions that an assassinationof Hitler would have prevented the deaths innocent Jews. But, legally at that time and place, under the rules of International Law, I believe it would have been allowed and was attempted unsuccessfully, based upon the fact Hitler killed himself before he could be found and assassinated. Not knowing the exact details and with further digging into the facts, I found Hitler was the ultimate person calling the shots. Under the presumptions, the leader has to have ultimate control over the military. Whether other governments knew at the time all of the facts or not, we know now so, I feel comfortable stating my opinion. After much research, because I never had to study Hitler, I had to ask myself several questions before coming to an opinion, not just based on my moral beliefs but, technical ones. For instance, at the beginning of the war did we know of the concentration camps, did we know exactly how many Jews were being killed, was there anyone else standing behind Hitler or was he acting alone? The results obtained comparing different pumping techniques to find an appropriate pumping technique to optimizes the performance of the optical WDM transmission system. Comparative analysis were given in their paper i.e co pumping, counter pumping and bidirectional in terms of received power level, BER, gain, noise figure and Q factor values for pump power varying from 20 mW to 100 Mw. The fiber lengths were varied from 20m to 60. They concluded that the best performance gives bidirectional pumping technique as it gives simulation. They investigated that EDFA amplification depends on the signal power, wavelength, EDFA length, and configuration of pump lasers. In June 2014, Mishal Singla and Sanjiv Kumar [10] observed different pumping techniques for 64 channel WDM system for different EDFA length. In the wavelength range of 1530nm to 1562nm at power 26dBm with 0.5nm spacing, the system was analyzed on the basis of Bit Error Rate (BER), Received power and Q Factor of three pumping techniques. This isn t to undermine the differences of each group, rather the girls have no choice. The world that many mexican girls live in is stacked against them. • 46. Gender Discrimination in Boys and Girls by Alice Munro Children are more prone to be obedient towards their parental figures (heteronomous obedience) while growing up. In the short story Boys and Girls by Alice Munro, life during the twentieth century is portrayed. The narrator, who has portrayed herself as a nameless young girl, struggles for freedom from inequality in her society. The disobedience in Boys and Girls is clarified in Erich Fromms essay, Disobedience as a Psychological and Moral Problem (DPMP). The narrator of Boys and Girls goes through different phases of obedience due to her authoritarian and humanistic conscience (Fromm 10). Also, by being disobedient she has control of her own authorities. Humanistic conscience stops her from doing something inhuman and or from being guilty; it s the inner voice. As well as her comfort levels and the changes of her obedience impact her much to her surprise. The young girlis well aware of what happens around her and is disobedient because of her humanistic conscience , which has her in a battle against genderbinary and stereotypes. The girl is young; she has no place to go, so therefore doesn t really have the option to disobey her parents. The little girl is obedient to her parents when they are around. She does what she is told to and helps her parents by doing some work at home. The girl helped her father [work outside] when he cut the long grass, and the lamb s quarter and also helped [carry] water (Munro). The girl valued her father more than her ... • 49. The Integrative Model Of Organizational Behavior Organizational commitment is one of the two individual outcomes derived from individual mechanisms like job satisfaction, stress, motivation, trust, justice, ethics, and learning and decision making. These mechanisms and outcomes can be found on the integrative model of organizational behavior (OB). Colquitt, LePine, and Wesson defined organizational commitmentin their Organizational Behavior 5th Edition book as the desire of an employee to remain a member of the organization (p 64). Being committed to an organization and going through different commitment stages is something that I personally experienced at my job. For the past four years, I have been working at Dow AgroSciences LLC legal department. I started there as a high school Co Op and continued an employment with this company throughout college up to present time. Reviewing types of commitment, I can tell that I experienced all three of them through different stages of my career at Dow. During my first two years, I definitely felt an emotion based affective commitment, which defined as the desire to stay with the company due to an emotional attachment to the organization and its employees. With this commitment, employees stay because they want to (65). I was hired with two of my friends from high school, so be able to work with them and building closer relationships was a big emotion based factor. Other factors that made me want to stay there was the professional atmosphere, flexible work hours, friendly coworkers, goal driven job duties, and supportive supervisor. Having co workers that thank me for everything I do, motivates me to do my best at all tasks and built a desire in me to exceed others expectations through my performance. In the past two years, my commitment type slightly shifted to the continuance and normative commitment. Because two of my friends left Dow and ratio of tasks challenge and my educational growth has not been balanced, I do not feel as motivated and interested in the work as I was in the beginning of my career. Going through the Kelley School of Business helped me to acquire knowledge and skills that exceed my job tasks skills level. Unfortunately, this creates boredom and assists with withdrawal behavior.
