Lady Macbeth Deception
It was a gloomy, cold Monday morning when Lady Macbeth was called into the conference room.
Feeling the confusion in the room, she took a seat at the corner of the table. Everyone was
speaking to one another, trying to understand why they all had been called for a meeting so
unexpectedly, leaving Lady Macbethto sit unaccompanied, the way she enjoyed it. A short man
soon came into the room, catching the attention of all the workers, clearly showing the man s
authority. As the workers scrambled to find a seat, the man began to announce, Attention fellow
employees, in the next week I will be giving a promotion. However, the competition is very tight.

Unfortunately, this task goes against my morals. To ruin the reputation of such a young and

it was unmistakable not hear deep annoyance over his response. Infuriated, Lady Macbeth yelled,
How dare you! What kind of genius are you? You flaunt around as if you actually know
something! I do! I stand out in the computer field! I ve received many accolades! You re just a
coward who cannot understand how to function a search engine! You re a fraud! Lady Macbeth
understood what she was saying and she understood the outcome of her words. The line went silent,
and after a few moments the man coughed to clear his throat. Fine. I will do this search for you to

ASSIGNMENT 11
A research conducted to highlight the current methods use to promote the library collection and
assess their effectiveness.
1. INTRODUCTION
Research has been untaken to assess the current methods used to promote the library collection and
to analyse the effectiveness of these methods. The literature has shown that effective promotional
methods can increase efficiency, awareness of and the use of the librarys collection. Promotion is
one of the elements in marketing which uses persuasive information that targets potential users, it
keeps the product in the minds of the customer and stimulate the demand for the product. Baker and

II. Shelf display is effective when it is done using the open faced method however it is challenged
by the availability of space. Despite this, it has proven to be effective because it takes advantage of
the browsers, they have access to a full view of the books which encourages them to open and
investigate the contents.
III. The Bulletin board displays posters and copies of new book covers and provides bibliographic
information on books in the collection. It is effective because it creates an attractive informative
presence.
5.0 THE USE OF ELECTRONIC RESOURCES TO PROMOTE THE COLLECTION
5.1 The e resources remain the least visible of the entire library s collection. According to Hurst
Wall (2005) it is imperative to include their promotion in the library s marketing plan. Promotion
heightens the awareness and the availability of the digital collection. RSS feed to the library s
website and a link on social networks as Face Book and Twitter is used which is a cost effective
mean of collection promotion. The use of technology in promotion is seen in the use of;
5.2 ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOGUE which is a promotional tool for the library
collection for it provides the users with independent access to the collection. It offers the users a
means of searching and browsing the collection to identify material of particular

Symbolism In The Book Thief
In The Book Thief, Mark Zusak uses symbolism throughout the story to create a profound meaning
behind characters actions , bringing more emotion and significance to the plot. Character Hans
Hubermann s accordion symbolizes many different aspects including comfort and hope, eventually
affecting most characters throughout the plot of the story. The colors Blueand Red are used by death
throughout the novel to symbolize scenes of good and evil. Lastly, Basements symbolize a safe and
calm environment towards Max Vandenburg but also symbolizes constant danger and fear for the
Hubermanns are committing a crime by hiding Max. In The Book Thief, symbolism channels a
relationship between characters and certain aspects of the story. Hans accordion, colors , and the
basementare symbols creating a more interesting plot by signifying ideas and qualities.
To Liesel Meminger, the accordion is a symbolof prosperity, hope, and a distraction. Through
times of distress, Hans accordion was there to soothe and relax her. When liesel arrived at
Himmel street she was overwhelmingly nervous and scared but one thing that gave her hope was
the beautiful sound of Hans accordion. On september 19, 1942 Liesel experienced a very real and
horrific air raid forcing members of the community to seek shelter in the Fielders basement. Liesel
remembered the accordions ability to alleviate stress from a situation and wanted the community to
experience the same. This lead liesel into reading The Whistler.

Public Shame In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter
Public shaming is not new. Shaming a person is a painful feeling of humiliation or distress
caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior. Public shame ruins a person s life over
what they did wrong by being called names, being fired from a job, receiving death threats, and
being known for what they did for the rest of their life. Public shamenever goes away and is still
used today to mock people. Thus, public shame can ruin a person s life socially, mentally, and
personally. In Source A, Hester deals with being public shame by standing on a scaffold in front of
the town, being mocked and called names. She committed adultery with Dimmesdale when her

Comparing Macbeth And Throne Of Blood

Character Comparison: Macbeth Throne of Blood
In the tragic play by Shakespeare, The Tragedy of Macbeth Macbeth, and the Japanese film,
Throne of Blood, many characters are direct parallels of each other. There are many similarities and
yet, key differences within each of the characters. Macbeth and Washizu share many of the same
character traits, as do their wives, Lady Macbeth and Asaji, respectively. We can also see these
similarities between Banquo and Miki and the three witches and the Forest Spirit. Macbeth and
Washizu are subject to their ambition and fear as they ascend to kingship, while Lady Macbeth
and Asaji are plagued by their desire for social status and wealth. Banquo and ... Show more content

They both have the will to manipulate and command the actions of their husbands and show
tremendous resolve to gain wealth and status. However, there are some key differences between
Lady Macbeth and Asaji. Lady Macbeth s mental health takes longer to decline into almost
complete insanity. We see Lady Macbeth struggling with her position after becoming Queen.
She is stressed about keeping the throne secure and is not as happy as she thought she might be.
It takes a while but eventually she cracks and has somewhat of a mental breakdown. Asaji on the
other hand keeps her composure throughout most of the film. She is obviously concerned about
succeeding in her endeavors but she was able to keep her focus unlike Lady Macbeth. It is only
very suddenly that she suffers the same fate as Lady Macbeth. Both women are found washing
nonexistent blood from their hands while sleepwalking. One other crucial difference between
the two women is their role as women within their respective societies. Lady Macbeth does not
wish to be treated like a woman at all. At one point in the play she even says, Come, you spirits
that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill me from the crown to the toe topful of
direst cruelty! (Shakespeare 1.5:40 44) Asaji takes a vastly different path when it comes to her
role as a woman. Her body language within the film shows that she is willing to take on her role as
a prominent

The Effects Of Whitewashing In Hollywood
Given that the media is such a major part of how we see the world, it is important to dig deeper
into the message it often portrays. In this day, televisions and cellphones are staple devices in
every household, making it a simple and speedy platform to influence individuals of all
demographics. Hollywood in particular has all the potential to provide positive and true
portrayals of Asian culture through their work but they continue to do the exact opposite in
order to please American viewership which leads to the whitewashing of the material. Race is
sadly a factor that goes into choosing the right person for a role and this is where whitewashing
comes into play as white actors are casted in roles that were originally meant for non white
actors. This can be seen in Hollywood as early as the 1920 s up to modern day America. This can
have negative effects on our society and the way we view each other due to misrepresentation and
blatant disrespect towards cultures, however it can also bring awareness and spark change due to
the backlash it receives at the same time.
. The practice of whitewashing is extremely prevalent and has become somewhat of a tradition
among Hollywood s many works. Hollywood has a long history of whitewashing that dates back as
early as 1919 in D.W. Griffith s filmBroken Blossoms in which a white actor played the role of a
Chinese immigrant. Back then, whitewashing was overt and the roles were highly caricatured,
especially in the series of Charlie

The Effects Of Poverty In Hunger Of Memory
Poverty displays itself as the undeniable reality of what our society displays that needs to stop so
that future generations do not become forced to live the terrible life it manifests. Poverty is an
international problem that has the potential to end if individuals work together to care enough. In
Hunger of Memory, Richard Rodriguez explains the struggles of a Mexican American student in
poverty that expresses his hunger to become a writer and a teacher one day. In contrast, in Nora
Ephrons The Boston Photographs the families that appear in the photographs display tiredness of
how they have the ability to live in poverty. While a long time period separates these two pieces
of work, both discuss families that appear to struggle due to the effects of poverty in their
everyday lives. However, whereas Rodriquez illustrates the willpower and hunger to want to move
on from his lifestyle that he lives and overcome his impoverish state, Ephron demonstrates how
families in The Boston Photographs want to end their lives since they will have nothing else due to
their state of poverty. The first differencebetween the two pieces of works is that the hope that
reoccurs throughout the essay. In Hunger of Memory, Richard Rodriguez stresses his love of
language and his development as a writer and a teacher. Rodriguez strives to better his educationso
that he can go further in life. Individuals continually stress that nowadays one can go extremely far

Common Core State Standards Initiative
Common Core: To Be or Not to Be Politics and education have been intertwined since the
establishment of public education in the United States. In other words, it is a well known fact that
public education is an extension of our political system. This has never been more apparent to the
public than over the last three decades, beginning in 1983 with A Nation at Risk which is
considered a significant event in modern American educational history. For the last few years, it
has been the controversial topic of the Common Core State Standards Initiative in the headlines.
One can hardly turn on the news or read a newspaper or web site without hearing something about
Common Core State Standards (CCCS). People either seem to be adamantly for or against the
standards. Educational reform and educational standards are not new and date back much further
than many people realize. Furthermore, if the public understood what the standards actually
encompass, there may be more support for Common Core State Standards. However, the public is
being inundated with a multitude of reasons why states should not adopt Common Core by making
it a political issue in order to gain votes. Regardless of what standards are adopted, common
standards in educationshould be implemented in the United Statesto prepare students for college and
career in order to compete and succeed in a global economy.
Since its inception, public education has continually focused on improving schooling in the United

Symbolic Elements in The Lord of the Flies by William Golding
In the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding the stranded boys come into contact with some
particular elements that represent an idea which are called symbols. These symbols include the
beast which represents the fear of the unknown and the darkness of mankind. The second symbol is
the signal fire which represents hope. The third symbol is the conch shell which represents order.
Golding indicates that when man is taken out of civilization, they have a natural instinct is to
become evil, darkness and barbaric and these symbolshelp to support his opinion.
One of the main problems that the boys had on the island was the beast. In their minds the beast

The fire was his only hope of keeping it together and acting like a human being. Once it was gone,
so was any hope of being civilized.
One of the most important symbols in Lord of the Flies is the conch shell. It represents law,
order and power. The shell was the only way to gather everybody from their scattered places on
the island. When the conch was blown the boys knew that the chief had something important to
say. Once everyone was gathered at the meeting, the holder of the shell was the only person
allowed to speak. In the novel, Golding compared the conch shell to its opposite; the pig s head.
The head contradicted the shell because it characterized chaos and terror. The shell also
emphasized that power is fake. A flag is no more meaningful than the conch that Ralph had. It s
the meaning behind it and the meaning that people give it that makes it important. Rules are
only powerful if everyone agrees on them. Ralph realized this once Jack left and took most of the
group with him. If he blew the conch and no one came, the shell would lose all of its power. If I
blow the conch and they don t come back; then we ve had it. We shan t keep the fire going. We ll
be like animals. We ll never be rescued. (Golding 124) When the conch breaks, so does Ralph s
power and Jack takes his spot as chief.
William Golding uses young boys on an island as an example to show that the world is

Chapter One Of Aristotle s Nicomachean Ethics
In the Nicomachean Ethics Aristotle poses a key question: What is the ultimate purpose of human
existence? To understand the function or purpose we must first determine the human nature.
Aristotle s inquiry begins with exploring the life of a human being in connection with the central
idea of being at work. He finds that the ends of our actions aim towards the highest good . Each
action can only be done with some form of thought behind it and choice. Aristotlestates that if we
had an awareness of this ultimate good, we would have better aim to reach our targets. Aristotle will
find that happiness is the highest good and the ultimate end and purpose of human existence. This

Make note that he carefully uses the word some . Every individual task aims at a particular
good. The end of each task aims at its own good. If the end of each task aims at its own good,

at only some good, not the absolute good. Also, Aristotle is strictly speaking about these four
things that seem to aim at some good. He later says that people often make the mistake in
believing there is some good in itself that directs everything. People assume that everything aims
at some good, when this is not the case. Particular things may specifically aim towards the good
but there is no overarching definition of what is good that can apply to all things. Aristotle s

Society s Pokemon Impact On Children And Society
Nintendo s Pokemon franchise is a rare beast in a field of short lived children s cultures. The
series, which began in the realm of handheld video games, quickly developed into one of the
longest running anime television series, an ongoing series of manga volumes, feature films,
music and an ever expanding realm of merchandise (McCormick, 2000). The success of Pokemon
is partly attributed to its ability to target a younger demographic almost exclusively. Parents in the
nineties would rush out to pick up a Pikachu themed Gameboy or the latest Pokemon game for the
N64 console for their kids (Buckingham, 2007). The impact of Pokemon on children as a whole is
significant. This research will explore the impacts of Pokemon fandom on children by focusing on

Measurement Of Density And Density
MEASUREMENT OF DENSITY
Lichang Wu
Feb. 22, 2015
Abstract The purpose of the lab was to determine densities of materials. Density is the amount of
matter in a given amount of space. Density is a physical property that is independent of the amount
of material present. The formula for density is density=mass/volume(d=m/v).
Introduction Density is a measurement of the amount of mass that have a specific volume. Density
is used for identifying substances. Density is reported as g/ml or g/cmВі. This lab will focus on
measurements. Mass and volume are physical properties that can be easily measured. In the lab, the
mass was measured in grams and the volume was measured in ml.

MEASUREMENT OF DENSITY
Introduction
In order to classify and identify materials of a wide variety, scientists use numbers called physical
constants (e.g. density, melting point, boiling point, index of refraction) which are characteristic of
the material in question. These constants do not vary with the amount or shape of the material, and
are therefore useful in positively identifying unknown materials. Standard reference works have
been complied containing lists of data for a wide variety of substances. The chemist makes use of
this in determining the identity of an unknown substance, by measuring the appropriate physical
constants in the laboratory, consulting the scientific literature, and then comparing the measured
physical constants with the values for known materials. This experiment illustrates several
approaches to the measurement of the density of liquids and solids.
Density is a measure of the compactness of matter within a substance and is defined by the equation:
Density = mass/volumeeq 1.
The standard metric units in use for mass and volume respectively are grams and milliters or cubic
centimeters. Thus, density has the unit grams/milliter (g/ml) or grams/cubic centimenters (g/cc).
The literature values are usually given in this unit. Density may be calculated from a separate

Chinese Religions And The Western World
Until very recently, the Chinese religions have remained fairly unknown to the Western world.
Unlike the religions that have stemmed from the Middle East or the Indian subcontinent, East Asian
philosophies have never had a strong concept of missionary spirit. Therefore, their expanse
remained confined to the East Asian nations of China, Korea, Vietnam, Japan and Mongolia.
However, in the last hundred years or so, an increase in political, commercial, and cultural contacts
of the East Asian region with other parts of the world broke this trend. This helped to spread the
philosophies of East Asian sages all around the globe. Scriptures and traditions of Confucianism,
Buddhism, and Taoism spread beyond the East Asian region and reached areas far and beyond, thus
spreading their concept of harmony, and love for the beauty of nature. Today, a considerable
amount of East Asian populations live throughout Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Americas and
continue to influence the people and culture of these regions (Hopfe, 170.) Therefore, to
acknowledge the impact of the aforementioned East Asian philosophies on American culture, this
essay discusses three significant elements of the American lifestyle healthcare, cuisine, and art.

women cannot be true to themselves without being seen as mad. When Rochester reveals to

Escalade Research Paper
The Cadillac Escalade has become the most easily recognizable SUV s on the market today. It
has become the go to car for the rich and famous and the car that many dream of being able to
park in their driveway. Along with all of the notoriety that comes with owning an Escalade,
Cadillac has also designed an SUV that reaches many different age groups. But not only does it
look nice, it was also designed to perform. Cadillac has equipped the Escalade with a 6.2 liter V8
engine that produces 409bhp. The latest edition Escalade now offers an extra 200cc of cubic

in collisions. Cadillac has also added StabiliTrak stability control and rollover avoidance. There
are now three row side curtain airbags and a sensor that can identify rear end impacts and adjusts
the seatbelt pretensioners accordingly. The rear park assist system comes as standard
equipment; it uses the navigation system which links to a rear facing camera to assist drivers
when they are trying to park this large SUV. Other options are a remote start function that is able
to either heat or cool the interior of Escalade to your desired setting making it all the more
comfortable in hot or very cold weather. The Cadillac Escalade has not strayed too far from
what has made it popular among its fans. It has stayed true to the design and aesthetics that have
made it one of the most popular SUV s available for purchase today. With the improvements

The Islamic Insurgency Of Afghanistan
Mullah Akhtar Mansour and the Rising Threat of Islamic Insurgency in Afghanistan
War and conflict have raged in Southeast and Central Asia for centuries due to civil unrest and
political instability. The rise of the Taliban and other militant insurgencies have escalated the
dangers and unpredictability of an already unstable government in Afghanistan. The appointment of
the new Talibanleader Mullah Akhtar Mansour could result in a dangerous liaison with ISIS. The
agenda of these jihadist extremists is the take over the Afghan and Pakistan governments in favor of
the more stringent Islamic ways of the Taliban. These groups, professing to do the work of God, are
perpetrating a coarse and distorted interpretation of Islam and the Quran. Insurgents have
committed violent acts including the killing of police, military personnel, assassinations of political
figures, and suicide bombings (Ghufran, 2009, pg 44). Due to the dangerous capabilities of the
Taliban combining with the organizational competence of ISIS, the United States coalition forces
must be cautious about leaving too quickly from Afghanistan, which will also affect Pakistan.
The Birth of the Taliban
The Taliban emerged in 1994 from a group of guerilla type Muslim Mujahidin that had fought in
the Afghan and Soviet war and were dissatisfied and disillusioned with their current leadership.
The Mujahidin s purpose is to perform jihad, meaning to struggle, strive, or persevere in doing God
s will (Wikipedia, 2015).

In order to attract more talent and increase its employees satisfaction along with its commercial

A second option is to try out different formats and arenas to hold a Cirque Lite show in North
American markets in order to appeal to a new audience that may not be willing to pay high ticket
prices. But, this will dilute the brand and the associations already built in the loyal customers
minds. A third option is to appeal is to a broader audience in all current markets using Cirque s
multimedia division to launch television specials that can serve as commercials for Cirque s value
proposition. The TV specials will allow broader audiences to see the value of the experience and
will give Cirque employees a break from constant touring. However, Cirque cannot bring the brand
to a broader audience without customer research into discount preferences and types of
entertainment they seek out. So, Cirque will need to conduct research to help it understand how
best structure its pricing and strengthen its value proposition to create meaningful experiences for
audiences that set Cirque further apart from competitors and complementors. The TV special
strategy will also serve well in the future when going to new markets to attract an audience.
Therefore, Cirque should pursue this option to build its brand presence in current and new market
and to attract a broader audience.

Theme Of Alienation In Frankenstein
People often find something wrong with things they do not view as normal, many times, these
different aspects of the world draw ire or even hatred of those around them. Similarly, it is common
that individuals within society will demean those who look, act, or sound differently. This problem
spans cultures and generations, and, as with most problems, there are noble men and women who
fight for the outside, the alienated, in different ways. One such method is through literature. In
Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein, the monster only wants to be accepted by the humanworld, but
man constantly rejects him. It shows how people judge based on appearance and choose to
alienate those who fail to conform to their expectations. Throughout the story, the monster
encounters different people who all reject him because of how he appears. Victor spends two
years attempting to create life, yet when he does, he immediately hates his creation: now that I
had finished, but the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my
heart (42). It is shocking how quick Victor is to judge his own work. As soon as he comes to life
and Victor sees this monstrosity that he has created, he deems him hideous and feels his past two
years were a waste of time. This shows how superficial Victor is. He spends years of work
creating life, but decides that the monstrosity he creates is ugly and just leaves. He abandons this
monster when he is in his infancy. What Victor does is

Ph Buffers To Amylase On The Rate Of Starch
Research Question: What is the affect of adding different pH buffers to amylase on the rate of
starch digestion measured using starch and iodine?
Background information:
pH is a measure of the concentration of ions in a solution. In other words, concentration of H+ and
OH molecules compose pH. When the concentration of H+ and OH ions are balanced (equal), the
solution is considered neutral. When the H+ dominates the OH molecules, the solution is
considered acidic. When the OH dominates the H+ molecules, the solution is considered basic.
Buffer is to be able to add either strong acid or base to a solution avoiding a great change in the pH.

Dependent Variable: Rate of starch hydrolysis, which will be determined by the change of color; if
the iodine turns blue black it indicates that the enzyme is denatured and if the iodine turns orange
yellow it indicates that the enzyme is working properly by digesting the starch.
Controlled Variables:
Amount of iodine. 50ВµL of iodine will be equally added into each micro plate.
Amount of starch and amylase mixture. 5ml of starch solution and 500ВµL of enzyme solution
composed of amylase and pH buffer.
Temperature. The experiment will be maintained in the lab at temperature (30В°C)
Uncontrolled Variable:
Microorganisms might get in the tubes. To reduce this pollution, I will have to clean the lab

Italian Renaissance Beliefs
History paper
During the Italian Renaissance, people were influenced by positive values that helped change
human expectations. The values that people based their lives on we re humanism, secularism,
individualism, skepticism, generalism, and classicism. Humanism was the idea that people have
the ability to do what they want in life. Those who believed in secularism tended to focus more on
what they want to do in life rather than focus on religion. Artists show individualism through their
artwork by creating more unique pieces. The people were always willing to ask questions due to
their skepticism as well. Many talented individuals had skills with several activities expanding

Compare And Contrast New England And Massachusetts Bay...
During the 17th and 18th centuries, many English colonists settled into colonies in America,
otherwise known as the New World . There were many reasons to do so, whether it be for
economic benefit or to avoid religious persecution. These original 13 colonies began developing
fast with the help from the English, growing population wise and government wise. Two specific
areas included the New England and Chesapeake colonies. The Chesapeake colonies included
Maryland and Virginia, while the colonies of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and
the Massachusetts Bay colony were part of the New England colonies. These two colonial
societies shared a few similarities regarding the development of their religion and economy, they
also had a few differences. Religion plays a major part in many societies, especially the first 13
colonies. Some colonies were even settled solely to have freedom of religion and escape from
religious persecution. Massachusetts was one example, as the Puritans first went to Plymouth in
1620 seeking religious freedom. In terms of the New England colonies overall, they remained
Puritan. The idea of religious toleration was restricted to only the Puritan religion. A goal of theirs

Anomic Suicide Essay
Anomic Suicide
Suicide denotes a situation where an individual intentionally ends his/her own life. Psychologists
often seek to find out the answer to What drives individuals to committing suicide? The French
psychologist Emile Durkheim claimed that one way to understand suicide incidences is observing
societal factors. Durkheim felt that social integration especially plays a role in suicidal behavior.
The more socially integrated the individual become feeling connected to the society and that one

occupational groups becomes impotent as the market expands indefinitely. This creates a constant
state of crisis and anomy because of increased self interest. In this way, Durkheim claims that the
desire to fulfill unlimited self needs and aspirations becomes common in industrial and
commercial occupations leading to a high rate of suicides. Further, Durkheim argues that anomic
suicide is not only limited to economic but it is also in the domestic sphere. In domestic sphere,
traditionally suicides among widows, widowers and married couples were connected to
psychological and sociological problems. However, Durkheim disputes this and argues that social
regulation not only affects the physical aspects but also moral feelings. He argues that the moral
regulation of marriage to create monogamy is an example of how it has weakened the marriage
institution. This sudden change from polygamy creates a crisis for many people who

Carbon Derivatives Market in India
Carbon Derivatives Market in India Executive Summary Energy security, resource conservation,
reduction of pollution and protection of natural habitats has got governments all around the world
interested in carbon trading. Investor interest in the emerging global carbon credit market has
created apt conditions for risk management products, ranging from insurance to derivatives. The
carbon trading market allows polluting companies to pay others to cut carbon emissions on their
behalf so as to meet the reduction targets set by Kyoto Protocol. A high volume of trading in the
carbon derivatives market helps price discovery and liquidity, and in this way helps to set a clear
price signal which helps businesses to plan investments. India has... Show more content on

Similarly, the buyer can also hedge his position against rise in carbon credit prices. A high
volume of trading in this market helps price discovery and liquidity, and in this way helps to
keep down costs and set a clear price signal which helps businesses to plan investments.
Advantage India India is the second largest supplier of CERs in the world after China. Together
they control around 82% of the market. The advantage with these two countries is that they
have no obligation to reduce emissions under the Kyoto agreement and hence they have the
opportunity to invest in GHG reducing projects to earn carbon credits which can further be sold
to developed countries that have an obligation to reduce emissions. [pic] Out of the 978 projects
that have been registered under Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the United Nations
Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), 332 projects are from India. 543
projects are at various stage of validation or registration. All these projects from India are
expected to yield close to 400 million CERs by 2012. The market to buy and sell such credits is
surging especially in Europe where most countries have signed the U.N. Kyoto Protocol to curb
CO2 emissions. The value of global carbon markets grew by 80 percent from 2006 to 2007,
reaching $60 billion in 2007, according to consulting group Point Carbon. In

Expansionism As A Policy Of Promoting Economic Growth
Expansionism is a policy of promoting economic growth. The main concern arises when expanding
territory does not prove to be beneficial to all races, as its growth in territory may simply be
destruction for others. The expansionism and encroachment forced by capitalists can ultimately be
categorized as oppression and white superiority, as it resulted in the deterioration of culture, natural
rights, and mental stability for the Native Americans. The interests of the white capitalists to
acquire Western land limited the natural rights of the Native Americans. It is the beliefs of white
superiority and falsified authority that lead to the mistreatment of indigenous people like the Native
Americans. Several incidents in American history present white capitalists neglecting the opinions
and rights of Indians, for profit and expansionism, as An estimated two million indigenous people in
the United Stateswere reduced, through slaughter, starvation, and disease, to less than a quarter of
a million people by 1900 (Kratzer). Although the Treaty of Fort Laramie of 1868 stated that no
white person or persons shall be permitted to enter the Black Hills, the administration of Ulysses
S. Grant pressured the Indians to sell the Black Hills, as it was a major resource of gold (Miller).
The Native Americans adamantly refused to sell the Black Hills, as the mountain range held
significant cultural importance to them. These statements were not given for consideration by the

A Research Study On Dissent Essay
Literature Review Dissent within organizations could be seen as organizational problems. The
climate of the organizations and the managers misunderstand and unable to identify and respond to
the expression of dissent. It is a risky situation for employees to dissent upwardly, but they might
gain benefits from doing it. At the beginning, dissent tends to be part of issues of principle and
ethics prior findings has indicated that organizational, relational, and individual factors likely drive
the upward dissent. However, they do not discuss the strategies of upward dissent used by
employees. In this study, the author aims to explore strategies of upward dissent. The study
identified four different strategies which include personal, contractual, regulative, and direct tactics.
The exit voice loyalty model of employees in the super subordinate relations also studied. Purpose
dan Research Questions The purpose of this study was to assess strategies employees use to express
upward dissent within contemporary organizations. RQ1: What identifiable upward dissent
strategies do employees use? (p.192) Methodology The author used a survey questionnaire to
collect data from respondents (N=135) who were full time employees in Arizona. Their work fields
were in sales, education, health care, banking or financial services, manufacturing, service,
government, information technology, engineering, media or communication, nonprofit, law
enforcement, and also some unidentified

Nutritional Analysis Project
After completing this nutritional analysis project, it opened my eyes to how many positive and
negatives are present in my diet. To begin, one of the positives of my nutritional status is the fact
that I get enough protein through the foods I eat. For example, on October 1, I ate 6 ounces of
chicken breast, which is high in protein. Furthermore, I also have a lot of vitaminB6 and B12 in my
diet. Vitamin B12 was in the 6 ounces of meatloaf I ate on September 30. This vitamin is vital
for normal brain functioning as well. In addition, I consume enough iron in my foods. Iron is
extremely important in the body as it helps red bloods cells transport oxygen. One example of
when I consumed a lot of iron was when I ate corn flakes for breakfast all three days. On the other
hand, this project also uncovered numerous ways my diet falls short. One of these is the fact that I
did not have enough... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I only consumed 11 grams of fiber on September 29 and October 1, and 12 grams on September 30.
This falls much lower than the target intake level of 38 grams. As a result, I am going to add
more fiber to my diet. One way I plan to accomplish this is by adding flaxseed to my yogurt as a
snack. This will add 2.8 grams of dietary fiber per 1 tablespoon serving. Moreover, a final
negative is how my current sodium intake is too high. For example, it was 2953 milligrams on
October 1, when my target was to have less than 2300 milligrams. Consuming too much sodium
can cause hypertension, so I need to make a change. I can accomplish this by adding less salts to
my foods and by removing sodium rich foods in my diet. One example is in the salad dressing I
have every day for lunch. In fact, 30 grams of ranch dressing has 328 milligrams of sodium. I am
going to switch to Caesar salad dressing instead, with only 158 milligrams of

Orlando Museum Of Art Analysis
The museum I went to was the Orlando Museum of Art and the painting I choose to analysis is
Soupe D ane by Miquel Barcelo. This oil painting on canvas was made in 1992. Barcelo depicts
donkeys in a bowl being made into soup.
When I first saw this painting I saw bulls and explosions. But the more I looked at the painting the
more I was able to try to understand it. The next thing I saw in the painting were bulls in a pin, all
trying to escape the chaos happening in the pin. And finally, when I got home I looked up what the
painting name means and realized that what I was really looking at were donkeys in a soup bowl.
The use of dark colors in middle of the painting, with subtle hint of brighter colors like red, tan, and
green, on the outside courts of the painting. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
About how hard and messing this process is, I thought the bulls coming out of the painting were
the new life coming out and the dark colors in the middle was the process of starting over again.
But, what I found with this painting was the more you looked at it, the more you saw and the
more you are able to infer. The next thing, I thought this painting was trying to infer was about
how hectic life can be, and how we all want to be in the calm (outside of the pin). To me the artist
is trying to get out of the hardships of life. Showing that while some people are able to get out of
these hardships, others do not. But, I have no idea what the artist actually meant, this is because,
the painting had no description under it and I could not find out about it on the internet, so I have
no idea what the artist meaning of this painting is. I just know the title s translation, which is soup
of donkey. So, I guess what really matters is what I think. In my opinion, the artist allows the
viewer to decide. This also adds to the chaos of the painting, that we will never know the meaning
the painter was trying to

Scientific Methods Are Important When Studying The Natural...
Scientific methods are important when studying the natural world. This is because it is essential to
understand the methods in which discoveries were made in order to make new discoveries from the
data already presented. Understanding scientific methods is essential when studying all types of
science. The scientific methodimportant because it helps establish a common denominator with all
scientific research. It is not a fixed path, but it creates a general form for scientists to follow when
making scientific investigations. There can always be unexpected data and the natural world may
surpass the general form that the scientific method provides, but it is still a useful tool for scientists
to use (Tarbuc Lutgens, 2015). Following the scientific method in general make it easier for future
scientists to understand what happened and why in an experiment. The different steps of the
general scientific method give scientists a great outline to follow when making scientific inquiries
about the natural world.
In order to understand the scientific method fully, it is necessary to know the different steps. There
are six steps: ask a question, do background research, construct a hypothesis, test your hypothesis by
dong an experiment, analyze your data and draw a conclusion, and communicate your results
(Science Buddies, 2002). These steps are very general, but can be very useful to follow in order to
make sure data is not lost. On the next page is a diagram showing the steps in

Comparison Of Marvel, The Super Bowl And Gangnam Style
Marvel, the Super Bowl, and Gangnam Style. What do all of these have in common? They are
all instantly recognizable worldwide, even if they are all in different languages. Pop culture
spreads like wildfire, seeing it constantly on your TV, your phone, news helps engrave it into
your brain. This leads it to become instantly recognizable. Nuno Roque, a Portuguese actor,
director, singer songwriter, and mime said that, pop is about speaking everybody s language. The
imagery and iconography we instantly recognize. When you can rely on things that the public
already knows, you re dealing with pop, I personally agree with Nuno s quote. By being iconic,
you become popular, therefore you become a part of pop culture. Time and time again, we see
music, movies, and sports become a part of pop because they are widely known.... Show more

We have a various genres, and the top 100 songs chart is constantly changing, but when a song is
at the top of those charts, it is being listened to worldwide. A few years ago, a song that reached
that top of those charts was Gangnam Style by Psy. Only a few lines of that song were in
English, meaning the rest of the song would only be understood by those who know Korean.
Nonetheless, everyone still knew the choreography; the electric beats and the rhythm of the music
made this song popular. This song was speaking everyone s language. While the lyrics meant
something, the other components are what made it everyone s song, and they made no impact on
everyone getting up and dancing to this pop hit. The beat was ionic at the time along with the
dance moves which made Gangnam Style popular and known world wide, which is why it was a

In this day, televisions and cellphones are staple devices in every household, making it a simple and speedy platform to influence individuals of all demographics. Hollywood in particular has all the potential to provide positive and true portrayals of Asian culture through their work but they continue to do the exact opposite in order to please American viewership which leads to the whitewashing of the material. Race is sadly a factor that goes into choosing the right person for a role and this is where whitewashing comes into play as white actors are casted in roles that were originally meant for non white actors. This can be seen in Hollywood as early as the 1920 s up to modern day America. This can have negative effects on our society and the way we view each other due to misrepresentation and blatant disrespect towards cultures, however it can also bring awareness and spark change due to the backlash it receives at the same time. . One of the most important symbols in Lord of the Flies is the conch shell. It represents law, order and power. The shell was the only way to gather everybody from their scattered places on the island. When the conch was blown the boys knew that the chief had something important to say. Once everyone was gathered at the meeting, the holder of the shell was the only person allowed to speak. In the novel, Golding compared the conch shell to its opposite; the pig s head. The head contradicted the shell because it characterized chaos and terror. The shell also emphasized that power is fake. A flag is no more meaningful than the conch that Ralph had. It s the meaning behind it and the meaning that people give it that makes it important. Rules are only powerful if everyone agrees on them. Ralph realized this once Jack left and took most of the group with him. If he blew the conch and no one came, the shell would lose all of its power. If I blow the conch and they don t come back; then we ve had it. We shan t keep the fire going. We ll be like animals. We ll never be rescued. Based on the literature value of density, density of an unknown object could be identify by measuring the mass and volume. MEASUREMENT OF DENSITY Introduction In order to classify and identify materials of a wide variety, scientists use numbers called physical constants (e.g. density, melting point, boiling point, index of refraction) which are characteristic of the material in question. These constants do not vary with the amount or shape of the material, and are therefore useful in positively identifying unknown materials. Standard reference works have been complied containing lists of data for a wide variety of substances. The chemist makes use of this in determining the identity of an unknown substance, by measuring the appropriate physical constants in the laboratory, consulting the scientific literature, and then comparing the measured physical constants with the values for known materials. This experiment illustrates several approaches to the measurement of the density of liquids and solids. Density is a measure of the compactness of matter within a substance and is defined by the equation: Density = mass/volumeeq 1. The standard metric units in use for mass and volume respectively are grams and milliters or cubic centimeters. Thus, density has the unit grams/milliter (g/ml) or grams/cubic centimenters (g/cc). However, in the last hundred years or so, an increase in political, commercial, and cultural contacts of the East Asian region with other parts of the world broke this trend. This helped to spread the philosophies of East Asian sages all around the globe. The rise of the Taliban and other militant insurgencies have escalated the dangers and unpredictability of an already unstable government in Afghanistan. The appointment of the new Talibanleader Mullah Akhtar Mansour could result in a dangerous liaison with ISIS. The agenda of these jihadist extremists is the take over the Afghan and Pakistan governments in favor of the more stringent Islamic ways of the Taliban. Insurgents have committed violent acts including the killing of police, military personnel, assassinations of political figures, and suicide bombings (Ghufran, 2009, pg 44). Due to the dangerous capabilities of the Taliban combining with the organizational competence of ISIS, the United States coalition forces must be cautious about leaving too quickly from Afghanistan, which will also affect Pakistan. The Birth of the Taliban The Taliban emerged in 1994 from a group of guerilla type Muslim Mujahidin that had fought in the Afghan and Soviet war and were dissatisfied and disillusioned with their current leadership. Theme Of Alienation In Frankenstein People often find something wrong with things they do not view as normal, many times, these different aspects of the world draw ire or even hatred of those around them. This problem spans cultures and generations, and, as with most problems, there are noble men and women who fight for the outside, the alienated, in different ways. One such method is through literature. In Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein, the monster only wants to be accepted by the humanworld, but man constantly rejects him. It shows how people judge based on appearance and choose to alienate those who fail to conform to their expectations. Throughout the story, the monster encounters different people who all reject him because of how he appears. • 44. Nutritional Analysis Project After completing this nutritional analysis project, it opened my eyes to how many positive and negatives are present in my diet. To begin, one of the positives of my nutritional status is the fact that I get enough protein through the foods I eat. For example, on October 1, I ate 6 ounces of chicken breast, which is high in protein. Furthermore, I also have a lot of vitaminB6 and B12 in my diet. Vitamin B12 was in the 6 ounces of meatloaf I ate on September 30. This vitamin is vital for normal brain functioning as well. In addition, I consume enough iron in my foods. Iron is extremely important in the body as it helps red bloods cells transport oxygen. One example of when I consumed a lot of iron was when I ate corn flakes for breakfast all three days. On the other hand, this project also uncovered numerous ways my diet falls short. One of these is the fact that I did not have enough... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I only consumed 11 grams of fiber on September 29 and October 1, and 12 grams on September 30. This falls much lower than the target intake level of 38 grams. As a result, I am going to add more fiber to my diet. One way I plan to accomplish this is by adding flaxseed to my yogurt as a snack. This will add 2.8 grams of dietary fiber per 1 tablespoon serving. Moreover, a final negative is how my current sodium intake is too high. For example, it was 2953 milligrams on October 1, when my target was to have less than 2300 milligrams. Consuming too much sodium can cause hypertension, so I need to make a change. I can accomplish this by adding less salts to my foods and by removing sodium rich foods in my diet. One example is in the salad dressing I have every day for lunch. In fact, 30 grams of ranch dressing has 328 milligrams of sodium. I am going to switch to Caesar salad dressing instead, with only 158 milligrams of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Orlando Museum Of Art Analysis The museum I went to was the Orlando Museum of Art and the painting I choose to analysis is Soupe D ane by Miquel Barcelo. This oil painting on canvas was made in 1992. Barcelo depicts donkeys in a bowl being made into soup. When I first saw this painting I saw bulls and explosions. But the more I looked at the painting the more I was able to try to understand it. The next thing I saw in the painting were bulls in a pin, all trying to escape the chaos happening in the pin. And finally, when I got home I looked up what the painting name means and realized that what I was really looking at were donkeys in a soup bowl. The use of dark colors in middle of the painting, with subtle hint of brighter colors like red, tan, and green, on the outside courts of the painting. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... About how hard and messing this process is, I thought the bulls coming out of the painting were the new life coming out and the dark colors in the middle was the process of starting over again. But, what I found with this painting was the more you looked at it, the more you saw and the more you are able to infer. The next thing, I thought this painting was trying to infer was about how hectic life can be, and how we all want to be in the calm (outside of the pin). To me the artist is trying to get out of the hardships of life. Showing that while some people are able to get out of these hardships, others do not. But, I have no idea what the artist actually meant, this is because, the painting had no description under it and I could not find out about it on the internet, so I have no idea what the artist meaning of this painting is. I just know the title s translation, which is soup of donkey. So, I guess what really matters is what I think. In my opinion, the artist allows the viewer to decide. This also adds to the chaos of the painting, that we will never know the meaning the painter was trying to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Understanding scientific methods is essential when studying all types of science. The scientific methodimportant because it helps establish a common denominator with all scientific research. It is not a fixed path, but it creates a general form for scientists to follow when making scientific investigations. There can always be unexpected data and the natural world may surpass the general form that the scientific method provides, but it is still a useful tool for scientists to use (Tarbuc Lutgens, 2015). Following the scientific method in general make it easier for future scientists to understand what happened and why in an experiment. The different steps of the general scientific method give scientists a great outline to follow when making scientific inquiries about the natural world. In order to understand the scientific method fully, it is necessary to know the different steps. There are six steps: ask a question, do background research, construct a hypothesis, test your hypothesis by dong an experiment, analyze your data and draw a conclusion, and communicate your results (Science Buddies, 2002). • 47. Comparison Of Marvel, The Super Bowl And Gangnam Style Marvel, the Super Bowl, and Gangnam Style. What do all of these have in common? They are all instantly recognizable worldwide, even if they are all in different languages. Pop culture spreads like wildfire, seeing it constantly on your TV, your phone, news helps engrave it into your brain. This leads it to become instantly recognizable. Nuno Roque, a Portuguese actor, director, singer songwriter, and mime said that, pop is about speaking everybody s language. The imagery and iconography we instantly recognize. When you can rely on things that the public already knows, you re dealing with pop, I personally agree with Nuno s quote. Nonetheless, everyone still knew the choreography; the electric beats and the rhythm of the music made this song popular. This song was speaking everyone s language. While the lyrics meant something, the other components are what made it everyone s song, and they made no impact on everyone getting up and dancing to this pop hit.
