I. OBJECTIVES:
a. Read and understand the directions carefully
b. Take note of the important words
c. Actively participate during the class discussion
II. LEARNING CONTENT:
Topic: Interpreting direction
Materials: Media presentation and Instructional material( Ointment Box)
Reference: English Global, Interpreting Direction pp. 343-344
III. PROCEDURE
A. CLASSROOM ROUTINE:
a. Prayer
b. Greetings
c. Checking of attendance and cleanliness of the classroom.
d. Motivation:
1. action song
Move and Freeze
B. ACTIVITY
Read what is written on the piece of paper.
C. ANALYSIS:
1. What medicine was prescribed?
2. How long to take the medicine?
3. How many times a day must to take a medicine?
4. If you have a fever then you follow the instruction written on the prescription,
what will happen to you?
D. ABSTRACTION
The teacher will discuss about the importance of following directions.
E. APPLICATION
Read the direction inside the box. Then, answer the questions that follow.
DOSAGE:
Children4-6old:5ml (1 teaspoon) 3 timesaday
Children6-12 yearsold:15 ml ( 1 tablespoon) 3times aday
Adults:30 ml (2 tablespoons)3timesa day
1. If your brother is 5 years old, how many times will you give him this medicine?
2. What will you use to measure the medicine you will must take?
IV. GENERALIZATION:
1. Why we need to follow instruction?
2. Do we need to understand the prescription?
V. EVALUATION:
Activity 1
Read the direction inside the box. Then, answer the questions that follow.
1. What is this ointment for?
2. How many times a day shall you use this ointment?
3. When is this ointment not applicable for skin irritation?
VI. Assignment
1. Why we need to follow the directions carefully?
Skin Ointment- best for itching due to insect bite, skin allergy,
and other minor irritations.
Directions: Apply on affected parts three or four times a day.
Do not apply on fresh wounds or on bleeding parts of the body.
If red rash occurs on the affected part, stop using it.
