An engine stand is a tool used to repair large engines by holding them suspended in air. Engine stands allow access to all surfaces and protect fragile components from being crushed. They are mounted on casters so engines can be moved around the shop. Large engines require engine stands because they cannot be easily laid down due to their size and weight. Engine stands are commonly used with engine cranes to remove and install engines and perform repairs. Rolls Royce engine stands have unique features like adjustable angles of access and sturdy construction to stably hold engines during maintenance. They supply engine tooling and stands globally to support their aircraft engines.

Introduction:
The importance of deduction of marks, which has always been debatable, has now up surged
numerous argument in favour and against it, now it has become even more
controversial. The substantial influence of late submission has sparked the controversy
over the potential impact of this trend in an integral part of the
community/society/education system/individual’s/people in recent years. It can be
agreed that upside of marks deduction is instrumental indeed; however, it has some

Prediction of Electrical Energy Efficiency Using Information on Consumer's Ac...PriyankaKilaniya
Energy efficiency has been important since the latter part of the last century. The main object of this survey is to determine the energy efficiency knowledge among consumers. Two separate districts in Bangladesh are selected to conduct the survey on households and showrooms about the energy and seller also. The survey uses the data to find some regression equations from which it is easy to predict energy efficiency knowledge. The data is analyzed and calculated based on five important criteria. The initial target was to find some factors that help predict a person's energy efficiency knowledge. From the survey, it is found that the energy efficiency awareness among the people of our country is very low. Relationships between household energy use behaviors are estimated using a unique dataset of about 40 households and 20 showrooms in Bangladesh's Chapainawabganj and Bagerhat districts. Knowledge of energy consumption and energy efficiency technology options is found to be associated with household use of energy conservation practices. Household characteristics also influence household energy use behavior. Younger household cohorts are more likely to adopt energy-efficient technologies and energy conservation practices and place primary importance on energy saving for environmental reasons. Education also influences attitudes toward energy conservation in Bangladesh. Low-education households indicate they primarily save electricity for the environment while high-education households indicate they are motivated by environmental concerns.

1. Chapter 1
The Problem and Its Scope
Introduction
An engine stand is a tool commonly used to repair large
heavy gasoline or diesel engines. It uses a heavy cantilevered support structure
to hold the engine in midair so that the mechanic has access to any exposed
surface of the engine. While small single-piston engines can commonly be laid
on a table for repair, a large engine is normally meant to be supported from its
engine mounts or from the flywheel transmission case mounts and fragile
components such as oil pans and valve covers would be crushed if the large
engine were placed on a flat surface. Engine stands are typically mounted on
large casters so than an engine can be moved around the shop to different test
and repair stations, and the engine can often be rotated in midair to provide
easier access to underside surfaces of the engine. The engine stand is
commonly used in combination with the engine crane to remove or install an
engine in a vehicle, break in that engine, and perform repairs.
On the other hand, the design of the stand engine requires fundamental
requirements and elements in order to link and perform complete functions and
operations for engine repair.
An engine stand is illustrated having a universal mounting apparatus for
securing loads such as different sizes of automotive engines and the like to a
rotatable face plate which has a wheeled stand therefor. The invention further
2. contemplates an extensible wheeled support on the stand having adjustable
means for balancing and stabilizing the load carried by the universal mounting.
On the other hand, the design of the engine stand should consider mechanisms
and functions on how this engine stand is used more particularly in automotive
maintenance for engine repair.
Engine stand is one of the important tools in automotive maintenance for
engine repair that the mechanic technicians used. Furthermore, it usefulness and
beneficiality for the automobile and mechanic technicians are helpful, convenient
and efficient in order to perform well in maintaining and repairing engines.
However, engine stands in the local market are becoming expensive that the
automobile and mechanic owners and technicians will have to purchase for
engine stands for automobile or engine maintenance. In other words, it further
adds more expenses in their automobile and engine maintenance.
In line with the rationale and objectives of this study, the design of engine
stand will present its mechanism, functions and activities for engine repair and
maintenance and further inputs and highlights with regards to the design,
usefulness and effectiveness compared to a commercial engine stand in the local
market.
3. Conceptual Framework
According to Reillo, A. (2013) engine stand is a very important tool that
every mechanic should have. This equipment is commonly used to repair any
heavy diesel or gasoline engine. Usually, it has a cantilevered support structure
that can hold any type of engine in midair. This will give the mechanic the means
to access hard to reach parts of the engine. Engine stands are meant to repair
large engines, especially its fragile components like valve coves and oil pans.
These parts will be crushed if the engine is placed on a flat surface.
On the other hand, engine stand is a very important tool for engine repair
and automobile maintenance which has distinct mechanisms and functions that
would help the auto-mechanic to repair and fix enines.
According to Linda Trego (2013) homemade Engine Stand Features
Stronghold stand were designed to increase personnel safety, usability, and
function. These features include hydraulic, automated casters and shock
isolation mount; onboard storage for all tools and parts; industrial nonslip material
coating to replace no-skid strips; and improved rigidity. Champion also brought
new machining capabilities in-house to manufacture affiliated ground support
equipment products, while still meeting demanding lead times and stringent
customer qualifications.
On the other hand, homemade engine stand is introduced and
encouraged in order to give further inputs and information in terms of developing
and designing an engine stand at home instead of purchasing commercial engine
stands in the local market.
4. According to Theme, K. ( 2013) the Rolls Royce engine stand has been
designed on the basis of two manipulators, which can be used in a complete
range of engine. The Rolls Royce engine tooling has been designed to exacting
standards and the supporting tooling like the carriers and interface tooling were
all subject to individual strength tests. They are the new players in the aviation
market has an agreement with a company with hydro for products and services
related to engine built and ground supporting system.
On the other hand, Rolls Royce engine stand is good example brand for
engine repair and automobile maintenance, Also, it gives the readers information
about Rolls Royce engine stand having its unique and distinct designs and
platforms in terms of mechanisms, functions, features and designs.
5. Table 1. Schematic Diagram of the Present Study
In view of the paradigm above, it shows the organization of events that
transpire of this research. The designs, mechanisms, functions, tests and
activities and performance are inputs of this study which will form and create the
over-all structures and features of the design of engine stand intended engine
repair and automobile maintenance. It will also present different activities and
series of tests and experiments for engine stand in its functionality,
operationability, effectiveness and efficiency. On the hand, Engine Stand is the
output of the study in which the researchers will have to present a sample or
prototype in order to see what the engine stand looks like and how it will be used
in the engine repair and automobile maintenance. Thus, the design of engine
stand will be introduced and established of this study.

One of the Distinct Engines Stands Ever Made
The range of Rolls Royce engine tooling has some different features from
the other tooling equipment. For the routine maintenance, a Rolls Royce engine
tooling have been traditionally been striped and built on ground based engine
built stand. The Rolls Royce engine stand has been designed on the basis of two
manipulators, which can be used in a complete range of engine. The Rolls Royce
engine tooling has been designed to exacting standards and the supporting
tooling like the carriers and interface tooling were all subject to individual strength
tests. They are the new players in the aviation market has an agreement with a
company with hydro for products and services related to engine built and ground
supporting system. Their main tooling and parts consist of build and strip tooling,
ground support equipment, line maintenance tooling, component repair tooling,
whole engine transportation stand, electrical test equipment, engine blank and
special to product test equipment. The Rolls Royce engine stand has its unique
features such as 45degree
Positioning wheel with ball lock pin secures engine giving 8 angles of
maintenance access, Sturdy
12. welded steel construction, Easy maneuvering with 2 swivel and 2 rigid heavy
duty casters, Centre foot operated grips firmly to stabilize stand during
maintenance operation, Handy oil recovery pan to avoid damage to hangar floors
and Durable Powder Coat Tonier Blue.
The Rolls Royce engine tooling kit comes with the adapters in different
variants such as K2108, K2110, K2111. They are having a leading edge
technology business which has completely changed the picture of Rolls Royce in
the world. The company is now leading the field not only in big engines sales but
also in support of those engines so that airlines business of flying people and
cargo around the globe should be met. Rolls Royce has its own competitive
advantage in manufacturing of its engine tooling and engine stand and they
supply the products to many of their aircrafts and airline businesses for which
they have a very positive market share.
Aircraft Engine: The Best Portability Solution for Those Giant Engines.
Aircraft engine stands are units developed to change the work load
associated stress that comes with loading and unloading of an engine. The work
becomes easy and straightforward with engine stands. The stands area unit thus
deigned that it's able to see and modify every and each half well. Alternative
advantage that comes with these engines is that they permit North American
country to switch and repair engine and its components whereas flying within the
air. it's an incredible resolution for imperative problems which may occur whereas
flying on the plane.
Types of Engine Stands:
13. Rollover stands — rotates (rolls) the interchange place to realize minimum
height/width profile for loading through transport payload doors.
GEnx-1B -2B twin purpose stand — offers improved safety and value
through hydraulically activated elements, including: caster readying,
engine rotation and lifting systems. Supports 2 of the OEM’s commonest
turbofan platforms; all elements and elements are kept on-board.
Little engine stand — designed for the final aviation trade to boost the
upkeep and repair of four- to six-cylinder engines that weigh up to 600
pounds. Options 180-degree rotation, industrial lockable wheels, spare
elements receptacle, multiple engine mounting adapters associate
degreed a swollen drip pan.
Split stands — permits for transportation of rotary engine engines in split
configuration; permits engines to be stowed in hold.
Fan stands — permits for the transportation of the GEnx-1B and -2B fan
modules.
LM2500 shipping skid and LM2500 check dolly — designed for safe
shipping and transport of the LM2500 engine.
Miscellaneous stands — look dollies; fan stands; check stands.
The stand permits fitting associate engine into the stand simply. Once a stand
holds the engine well, it will be affected to anywhere while not a scratch thereon.
It's a secure choice to keep associate engine harmless from any harm which may
occur whereas moving it. Associate engine could be needed to maneuver for
14. several problems like harm within the engine, fault within the fan or the other half
that must be checked forthwith to avoid any problems additional.
It is relatively straightforward to ascertain, clean, repair, and maintain an
engine in exceedingly automotive and alternative vehicles. The task is simple as
a result of one wants to not fly high within the sky to try and do thus. Whereas
within the case of associate engine in associate craft, it's riskier to alter or repair
associate engine.
Hence, exploitation associate engine stand could be a higher and safe choice
to move that significant engine with comfort and ease, to induce the work done,
and place it back to its place.
Basic Concept of Engine Performance
Engine performance characteristics are convenient graphical presentation
of an engine performance. They are constructed from the data obtained during
actual test runs of the engine and are particularly useful in comparing the
performance of one engine with that of another. In this section some of the
important performance characteristics of the SI engine are discussed.
Foundation of Engine Performance Testing
Here are so many types of dynamometers; the principle of any
dynamometer operation is to allow the casing to swing freely (A.J. Martyr and
M.A. Plint , 2007). The reaction torque on the casing, which is exactly equal to
the engine tor que, is measured on a level length, L, from the centerline of the
dynamometer as force, F. This restrains the outside casing from revolving, or the
torque and power would not be absorbed (G. P. Blair, 1996 and A.J. Martyr and
15. M.A. Plint, 2007 to repair and maintain engine trough diagnostic analysis system
with the result is the efficient operation of engines of all designs ( J. Erjavec,
2006). Both theories have different objectives. First, to learn performance engine
used dynamometer. The goal is could be developed engine performance or may
be also give service to customers for selected an engine. Second, is to
monitoring of engine in order to have the efficient operation using diagnostic
techniques.
Development of Engine Performance Testing
There are so many research developments on two stroke engine. One of
them has been conducted by Merrit and Bennett. The research describes a new
stratified charge burn combustion management system based on the invention of
a new gas dynamic segregation system (D Merritt and M C Bennett, 2006).
Another research has been developed by Gordon. 100 cc of two stroke
diesel engine was used to investigate the drawbacks of the injection system. The
ultimate performance was limited by a mechanical fuel injection system (RL
Gordon, 2005). The weakness could be consisted by used a high pressure
pump, and electromagnetically actuated, balanced valve and a miniature fuel
injector, as the result successfully demonstrated to offer full flexibility in injection
timing and fuel delivery. A weight saving of up to 25% was also shown, proving
the viability of the new, miniature fuel injection system concept.
Local
An engine stand is a very important tool that every mechanic should have.
This equipment is commonly used to repair any heavy diesel or gasoline engine.
16. Usually, it has a cantilevered support structure that can hold any type of engine
in midair. This will give the mechanic the means to access hard to reach parts of
the engine. Engine stands are meant to repair large engines, especially its fragile
components like valve coves and oil pans. These parts will be crushed if the
engine is placed on a flat surface.
Basically, engine stands are mounted on solid casters, so that it can be
moved around the shop and can easily be accessed by any of its repair stations.
Usually, this equipment work hand-in-hand with engine cranes. These two
significant auto repair tools are used to install or remove engine vehicles or to
simply perform repairs. Therefore, engine stands are vital in any auto repair
facilities. Having your very own engine stand is as important as any of your repair
equipment. However, buying one is not as easy as you think, especially if you
don’t know what to look for in these types of tools.
Fortunately, you can now buy an engine stand on the Internet through
various online engineering supply companies. But before you decide on a
particular company, you need to check the credibility of the seller you’re dealing
with. They need to be in the business of selling engine stands for years and their
credibility must be based on good customer service. One good example for this
is SGS engineering solutions which are known for its high quality auto repair
equipment. In fact, they offer specialized tools and equipment for vehicle
maintenance shops. So, if you need this particular tool and you want the most
credible engineering company to supply you with this equipment, then you must
17. checkout SGS engineering solutions for more details. In fact, engine stands can
be found online at http://www.sgs-engineering.com/.

Budget Engine Stand
Modifying an engine stand made for American engines is the normal route
most of us take when getting our engines to a comfortable working height. Even
if you purchase a used stand or one from Harbor Freight, it can get expensive
when you include the cost of modifications. And then what do you do with it when
it's not in use?
Burnell Curtis, a local Alfista, suggested I use his method and save
myself some money. It sounded good to me so I thought I'd try it and pass it
on. Drill out two adjoining holes to 1/2" and add a new 3/8" hole opposite the
others to the correct dimensions of the engine mount studs. What you can't see
is that I had to file down a small amount of the base of the flange near the new
hole to provide clearance for the nut to turn. Screw in the nipples and this is what
you'll have.
Attach a flanged nipple to each engine mount and place it between two
sturdy sawhorses that are probably lying around your garage anyway. You can
rotate the engine around to whatever position you wish but you'll need to use a
18. 2x4 to keep to engine in place. The best feature of this stand is that, when it is
not used, it can be stored on a shelf, completely out of the way.

Gas Engine Stands the Test of Time
The automobile stands as an enduring symbol of mobility and opportunity
in America and of innovation that’s at the core of our nation’s economic strength
and prosperity.
Yet the conventional gasoline-powered engine is sometimes disparaged
and treated as if it’s yesterday’s technology. Listening to politicians,
environmentalists and media pundits, you might think that the gas engine is
inefficient and old-fashioned, a relic of the past that ought to be replaced by
alternative automotive technologies like electric cars and plug-in hybrids.
But a good look at the latest advances in the gasoline-powered engine — and
those on the horizon — jars this opinion, and the surge in U.S. oil production
from shale drilling further refutes the idea that conventional engines are old
technology.
Already powering more than 230 million cars in the United States, internal
combustion engines have the potential to become substantially more efficient,
while providing economic and environmental benefits that extend well beyond the
money consumers save at the pump.
Imagine if your car uses advanced computing to control fuel injection far
more precisely than before, improving the fuel efficiency of big cars by more than
19. 15 percent. Or what if your car is able to knock another 30 percent off fuel
consumption — and corresponding greenhouse-gas emissions — by partly
cooling hot exhaust gas before it is pumped into the engine? Diesel engines,
which are more efficient than gasoline engines, might also take off in the U.S.
Half of the cars in Europe are diesel-powered. Diesel engines convert 45 percent
of the fuel’s chemical energy into mechanical work, compared to only 30 percent
for gasoline engines. With federal fuel-economy standards getting tougher by 35
percent over the next five years, auto manufacturers recognize that the efficiency
of the internal combustion engine must improve dramatically.
Auto companies are pinning their hopes on technologies like advanced
gasoline direct injection and cooled exhaust gas recirculation that make engines
of traditional cars and trucks more efficient — and they want it done in the near
term. They are also counting on advances in high-tech materials and automobile
design to allow them to build lighter cars and small trucks without sacrificing
safety. Because lighter vehicles use less fuel, this leads to much-improved fuel
economy.
Don’t expect all of these technological advances in next year’s models, but
automakers expect to hit their fuel economy targets over the next decade, rising
from about 32 miles-per-gallon today to about 51 by 2025. Importantly, they are
achieving technological breakthroughs with the internal combustion engine on
their own, without the government subsidies that support the development of
electric vehicles. For now, the most cost-effective technology changes in the near
term are improvements in conventional cars — advanced internal combustion
20. engines and diesel engines — that will reduce our energy consumption and
enhance energy security.
Another issue that’s very important: As economics students know,
switching technologies involves costs, and the verdict on the economic
desirability of the switch to hybrids and electric cars is still out. Hybrids and
electric cars use rare earth metals in their batteries and in the systems that
propel the cars. China accounts for more than 90 percent of the world’s supply of
these exotic, rare earth metals. Three years ago, in retaliation for the arrest of a
Chinese fishing boat captain, China retaliated by blocking the shipment of rare
earth metals destined for Japan. Some questions arise:
Are we substituting a new set of security risks for the old ones involving
OPEC oil? Would a major shift to hybrids and electric cars leave the United
States less dependent on foreign oil but vulnerable to foreign control of rare earth
metals? The U.S. Energy Information Administration forecasts that even in 2035,
more than 99 percent of cars and trucks sold will still have internal combustion
engines. With advanced engine technologies, the potential fuel savings will be
huge.
Access to more fuel-efficient cars is not only vital to the functioning of the
larger U.S. economy, it is vital to people’s everyday lives. It also significantly
impacts America’s energy security, environmental well-being and economic
competitiveness.
Success with fuel-efficient cars using conventional engines, both gasoline
and diesel, will open up vast new markets and add high-paying jobs in auto
21. manufacturing. And it will preserve America’s leadership in automotive
technology, while making our world cleaner and more secure. Mark J. Perry,

Recommended Engine Stand Capacities for V-8 Engines
Tips: Autos, Cars and Car Parts
Accessories,Capacities,Engine,Engines,Recommended,V-8
A rolling engine stand is a required piece of equipment for engine repair
and maintenance shops. This type of steel motor stand holds and transports
automobile engines once a mechanic has removed them from a vehicle. When
you use these stands, your most important preparation task will involve matching
23. the stand's weight capacity to the weight of the V-8 engine. Using an underrated
stand can create a catastrophic failure, which can cause permanent damage to
the motor and surrounding equipment, as well as injure bystanders.
Engine Stand Capacity
Engine stands have ratings based on their weight capacity. The most
common style of engine stand is a rolling, cantilevered stand that bolts to the
engine's flywheel. An entry-level V-8 engine stand has a rating for 1,250 to 1,500
lbs. and is meant for use with small-block six- and eight-cylinder motors.
Heavyweight commercial stands, rated for up to 6,000 lbs., support larger truck
and diesel engines. Rated by their weight capacity, these stands should only
carry engines well within their design limits.

Why Every Aerospace Troupe Purchase An Engine Stand?
Did you know that one should always write “Rolls- Royce” with a hyphen in
middle to indicate surnames of both the founders? Yes, the company was
founded by two people named Charles Rolls and Henry Royce around hundred
years ago. Their cars are simply amazing and even the oldest car of this
company is still on the roads of Scotland, which shows the power of an engine
that has made it possible to run its oldest car.
The company has always been famous for its powerful and unique Rolls-
Royce R engine that allows a vehicle to run smoothly and effortlessly. After this
engine became popular all over the world, the company thought of manufacturing
24. some other engines that would make driving Rolls- Royce a better and fun
experience. One such engine manufactured by this company is RB211-535
engine.
RB211-535 engine is a new version of the old RB211 engine that could fly
an airplane with 150 passengers in it. The company wanted to increase the
number of passengers and for that they had to do few changes in the older
version which was RB211. Rolls- Royce did few changes in the engine and a
new version was easy which could now allow fifty more passengers to travel in
the same plane.
RB211- 535 is a powerful engine that first entered services in January
1983. 'Frank Borman' who the president of Eastern airlines at that time was
found this engine so impressive that called it the finest airline engine in the whole
world. This engine had many advantages that made it more popular around the
world. RB211- 535 was quiet and reliable then many others at that time. It was
also the first plane to use wide cord fan, which reduces the sounds of the engine
besides increasing efficiency.
Like all other aircraft engines, this engine was also a powerful and heavy
engine, which creates a challenge to move it from one place to another. It
created a need of an engine stand that could easily carry and move it to places.
http://aviationtools.us/aviation_tool/rb211-535/ was thus built for solving this
issue. Like all other stands, it also works on two main parts of it which is the
cradle and the wheel transformation base. The cradle is at the very starting of the
engine stand, which easily holds this heavy engine. When the cradle completely
25. fits in the engine, one can easily move it with the help of the wheel transportation
base. In no time, a heavy engine can be moved to places easily.
RB211-535 engine stands are thus an important part of this aircraft that
allows shifting heavy engine in a couple of minutes. Almost every aerospace
company uses it to reduce the workload and stress that comes with transferring
this heavy engine. http://docslide.us/download/link/rb211-535-engine-stand

Homemade Engine Stand
After much hesitation about assembling the engine and a few tries at
different workshops (which only resulted in sloppy work), I decided I had enough
and I’m doing it myself, with some help of my friends. How hard can it be, a few
bolts, some sealant, oil and a manual. But,i if I’m going to this, it must be with
style so I decided to make myself an engine stand. First I made a no-time-to-
explain model, of things that were laying around, and with approximate
dimensions sent the model to my welder Očić. The welded stand has arrived, all
27. nicely covered in rust so some extra work was needed. Like some base
paint… and some finishing paint. I stole the wheels from my improvised platform
for moving things around and mounted them on my new engine stand. Josip and
I devised a system of adapters for different kind of engines that where laser cut
and welded together.
The engine stand is now finished, engine is mounted and ready for
assembly .I mounted the engine diagonally, so we can start it on stand if we want
to. http://craftomoto.com/home-made-engine-stand/,Vedran,Relja.2016.
Champion GSE has developed a dual-purpose stand for both the -1B and
-2B GEnx engine platforms from GE. Features of the Stronghold stand were
designed to increase personnel safety, usability, and function. These features
include hydraulic, automated casters and shock isolation mount; onboard storage
for all tools and parts; industrial nonslip material coating to replace no-skid strips;
and improved rigidity. Champion also brought new machining capabilities in-
house to manufacture affiliated ground support equipment products, while still
meeting demanding lead times and stringent customer qualifications. Linda
