What is an Emotion?
Emotion is a mental state associated with the
nervous system brought on by chemical
changes variously associated with thoughts,
feelings, behavioral responses, and a degree
of pleasure or displeasure.
There is currently no scientific consensus on a
definition.
What is Emotional Intelligence
The capacity to be aware of, control, and
express one's emotions, and to handle
interpersonal relationships judiciously
and empathetically.
“Emotional Intelligence is the key to
both personal and professional
success"
HOW THE BRAIN GREW?
Discovering Emotional
Intelligence
• Peter Salovey and John D. Mayer coined the
term 'Emotional Intelligence' in 1990
describing.
• It is “a form of social intelligence that
involves the ability to monitor one's own and
others' feelings & emotions, to discriminate
among them, and to use this information to
guide one's thinking and action”.

upset?
