The document discusses a study that investigated the effects of adding high density polyethylene (HDPE) and crumb rubber powder (CRP) on the properties of asphalt mix. Physical tests showed that adding HDPE and CRP decreased the penetration and increased the softening point of asphalt, indicating improved resistance to deformation at high temperatures. Marshall stability tests also showed that adding 5% HDPE and 10% CRP increased the stability of asphalt mixtures. Rutting tests further revealed that mixtures with HDPE and CRP had lower rutting depths and higher dynamic stability, demonstrating improved permanent deformation resistance. The study concluded that HDPE and CRP can effectively be used as additives to improve the high temperature properties and

Abstract The bituminous pavement rehabilitation alternatives are mainly overlaying, recycling and reconstruction. In the recycling process the material from deteriorated pavement, known as reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), is partially or fully reused and it is a valuable approach for technical, economical, and environmental reasons. Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) is one of the cold methods of recycling the bituminous pavements. In this study an experimental stretch is selected for FDR in which the full flexible pavement section and a predetermined portion of the underlying materials are milled and remixed with about 10 % of 10 mm down size aggregate and 30 % stone dust to match the Bituminous Concrete (BC) Grade-I mix limits and known quantity of RBI 81 stabilizer. Stabilization of RAP material with RBI grade 81 reduces the requirement of new materials, time of construction and increases the strength of the road. This report consist of a case study of road constructed at Jnanabharathi campus, Banglore University, which include assessment of existing pavement condition and the preparation of pavement surface for the construction of stabilized layer and construction aspects of pavement using RAP material stabilized with RBI grade 81. Flow time analysis of blended mixes using Marsh cone apparatusAbdulRazakBH
Abstract -Admixture-Cement interaction in concrete is a complex blend of chemical and physical mechanism that are independent. Every admixture at optimum dosage gives better results when used with cement. The proposed research is aimed to study the compatibility of super plasticizer with different types of blended cements by investigatingflow time value. The present work is to study the behaviour of blended mixes (OPC+GGBS+ALCCOFINE) with the PCE (poly carboxylic ether) based admixtures at various dosages of both GGB,ALCCOFINE and chemical admixture. It was observed that most of the blended mixes were compatible with PCE based admixtures at dosages of around 3%. Increase in flow time has been observed with the addition of ALCCOFINE.

Mechanistic approach for reducing the thickness of asphalt layerAdhamAlnadish
This study aimed to evaluate the possibility of reducing the thickness of asphalt layer as a novel solution for the high density of asphalt layer incorporated with steel slag aggregate, which increase the cost of transportation. Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design (MEPDG) approach was employed to evaluate the benefits of introducing polyvinyl alcohol fiber in terms of reducing the thickness of asphalt layer as well as the extension service of asphalt layer. On the other hand, the correlation between creep strain slope (CSS) and secant creep stiffness modulus (SCSM) were assessed to provide a better evaluation and understanding concerning of the outputs of the dynamic creep test. The findings of this study showed that introducing polyvinyl alcohol fiber into the mixtures at the optimum content (0.5 kg/ton) have reduced the thickness of asphalt layer by approximately 10%. Additionally, polyvinyl alcohol fiber has increased the performance of the asphalt mixtures concerning of resilient modulus and dynamic creep. Furthermore, the correlation between CSS and SCSM was strong, which indicates that evaluation of permanent deformation using CSS and SCSM parameters provides better actual assessment than accumulation strain.

Laboratory Investigation of Conventional Asphalt Mix Using Shell Thiopave for...IJERA Editor
The characteristic performance of asphalt pavement always depends on the properties of bitumen, volumetric properties of asphalt mixtures. Bitumen is visco– elastic material where the temperature and rate of load application have a great influence on its behavior. There are different solutions to reduce the pavement distress such as using Thiopave (binder extender and asphalt mixture modifier) in the mix design. Thiopave can significantly alter the performance properties of the mix and it is helpful to extend the life span of pavement. In this study, investigating use of thiopave and the change in the performance properties is dependent both on the percentage of virgin binder using VG-30 bitumen that is substituted with thiopave with different percentages. The study indicated that 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% replacement of binder was done with thiopave. The most notable impact of the addition of thiopave to a bituminous mixture is an increase in the stiffness of the mixture for better resistance to fatigue cracking and rutting. Thiopave materials can have a positive impact on laboratory mixture performance. The addition of thiopave has been shown to significantly increase Marshall Stability. From this study it is observed that thiopave can be utilized up to 30% to 40% as replacement to bitumen.

Modification of Asphalt by the Use of Crumb RubberIJERA Editor
Health aspects enforced to ponder a study on asphalt which incorporate rubber crumbs to increase strength and flexibility of asphalt. Disposal of waste tires is a menace and it’s a serious problem globally because it is not easily biodegradable as these tires consume large spaces, open burning cause serious problems. By the use of rubber tires, this scrap is utilized efficiently and reduces the cost of asphalt to produce economical system. The asphalt is absorbed by the rubber particles which swells at high temperature allowing greater concentration of liquid asphalt. The partial replacement of crumb rubber in asphalt is 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% (D05, D10, D15, and D20). The analysis of incorporated asphalt was done in hot mix asphalt. The generated results showed that the value for resilient modulus and creep stiffness is more as compared to the conventional asphalt and in the accumulated strain the values are much lesser which is positive approach.
Evaluation of strength and performance characteristics of cold mix bitumen us...IJLT EMAS
An attempted has been made to evaluate the strength
and performance characteristics of cold mix bitumen using
reclaimed asphalt. An experimental result obtained from
laboratory testing of the physical and mechanical parameters of
the recycled material, in which the material from the existing
pavement layers were analyses. The air void content, Marshall
stability and flow of the recycled mixtures were investigated. The
tests were performed on the road base mixtures incorporating
reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) with bituminous emulsion. It
was observed that the reclaimed asphalt was having impact
strength of 10%, crushing strength of 8.2%. It is significant to
note that the reclaimed aggregate which was subjected to loading
condition already was still showing very good strength properties.
The maximum stability obtained from optimum binder content
was 384 kg which is a very good value for a cold mix made up of
reclaimed asphalt aggregate. The flow value obtained was also
5.06 mm as observed. The aim of the tests was to evaluate the
properties of the mixes in terms of the recycled aggregates.
Satisfactory results were obtained.
Evaluation of Design Mix Bituminous Concrete using Plastic Waste in Road Pave...ijtsrd
Todays high traffic intensity in terms of commercial vehicles and the significant daily and seasonal temperature variation place us in a challenging situation where we must consider some alternatives for improving the characteristics and quality of the pavement by implementing some necessary modifications that will satisfy both the strength and the economic aspects. Taking into account the environmental perspective as well, there is significant environmental damage as a result of the excessive usage of polythene in daily operations. The requirement of the hour is to use the leftover polythene for some advantageous purposes because polythene is not biodegradable. Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
