This document discusses non-renewable energy resources and their effects on human health and the environment. Surveys were conducted to understand people's use of petrol, LPG, coal, and kerosene as fuels. generation. Coking coal - also known as metallurgical coal - is mainly
used in steel production.
Other important users of coal include alumina refineries, paper
manufacturers, and the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Several chemical products can be produced from the by-products
of coal. Refined coal tar is used in the manufacture of chemicals,
such as creosote oil, naphthalene, phenol,

17. Here are some of the ways petroleum is used in our everyday
lives-
 All plastic is made from petroleum and plastic is used
almost everywhere, in cars, houses, toys, computers and
clothing.
 Asphalt used in road construction is a petroleum product
as is the synthetic rubber in the tires. Paraffin wax comes
from petroleum, as do fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides,
detergents, phonograph records, photographic film,
furniture, packaging materials, surfboards, paints and
artificial fibers used in clothing, upholstery, and carpet
backing.
 Helium, sulfur and other valuable materials are produced
from oil wells along with petroleum itself. Petroleum is used
principally as a source of fuel and lubricating oils. Only when
these supplies are restricted or threatened does the average
person begin to realize their importance.

19. OBJECTIVE -To find effect of LPG [Liquefying petroleum gas] in
my area
Conclusion -

20. I did survey on people . On survey I found that most of people
are using petrol as a fuel in their bike and a large number of people
are consuming petrol as a fuel . As we know petrol is a non renewable
resource, so we have to consume it ,as there are various advantages of
petrol. People can use petrol in many ways I think advantages outweigh
disadvantages of petrol some ways by which we can consume petrol are-
 Visit a petrol pump only if your car has little or no fuel
 Turn off your car in slow traffic and at traffic signals
 Minimize the use of brakes. -The more frequently you apply brakes, the
more fuel you spend. You can avoid braking by maintaining a constant
speed of your vehicle.
 Drive at a constant speed.
 Use public transport systems as much as possible.

21.  I think that coal has been proved both as a friend and enemy
as it is though very useful and is the cheapest sources of
energy but it also releases carbon dioxide ,sulphuric
gasses.Since 2000 the global consumption of coal has
increased than any other fuel .In some hotels the coal is still
used to cook food. Some people also told me that coal mines
are very risky places so there is lot of risk in coal mines.
so coal should be consumed but in a proper manner in
following ways-
 use the electricity very rarely
 use of coal must be only when required
 in place of coal use electricity for ironing cloths etc.

22.  Kerosene, a thin, clear liquid formed from hydrocarbons, with a
density of 0.78–0.81 g/cm3, is obtained from the fractional
distillation of petroleum between 150 °C and 275 °C, resulting in
a mixture of carbon chains that typically contain between six and
16 carbon atoms per molecule. Major constituents of Kerosene
include n-dodecane, alkyl benzenes, and naphthalene and its
derivatives
 So many people uses kerosene .It is used in many house hold
work. Most kerosene is used as a fuel in cooking light lamp etc.
but it has some draw backs also. Since kerosene is very cheap
therefore it is used in primus stove . Some people have stopped
the use of kerosene
Because new fuels such as LPG are introduced
some people says it also kills insects.
I conclude from above that now days the use of kerosene have been
minimised as it causes pollution as well as not easily available
