This study evaluated the effect of adding crumb rubber from tires on the properties of concrete. Three concrete mixes were tested with 0%, 5%, and 10% replacement of fine aggregates with tire crumb rubber. Specimens were tested for compressive strength at 7, 14, and 28 days. The results showed that compressive strength decreased as the amount of crumb rubber increased. At 5% replacement strength was reduced by up to 12% and at 10% replacement strength was reduced by up to 36% compared to the control mix. However, crumb rubber concrete exhibited better abrasion resistance. The study helps understand the use of recycled tire rubber in concrete and its effects on properties.
