Issues Of Spanish People In The Book Taking Sides
The main issues of the Spanish people in the book Taking sides , is having to live in the Barrio.
An example of this is in the beginning of the book, when Lincoln s Old house has been
burglarized. Eventually Lincoln s mother makes the decision to move away to a safer
neighborhood . Lincoln is fairly lucky in his case, as his mother had saved money to get out of the
Barrio. However, most of Lincoln s friends aren t so lucky as they dont have the money to get out
of the ghetto. And try not to forget what comes with the Barrio, though these issues are not
explored in this book gang violence and drugs are common issues within ghettos around the world
today. The main issue/problem for the main character Lincoln Mendoza is having to adjust... Show

He felt very guilty about that and thought he should be loyal to his old teammates. The most
personal change happened toward the end of their game. He had been sidelined for most of it
but put in to play at the end. This is when he decided that he would not pick sides. That he would
play his heart out and win for himself. He tried his best and lost. He felt great about playing his
best and not picking sides and for trying to win for himself. Another time there was a personal
change was when his mother s boyfriend shared that he too had played for Franklin against
Lincoln s new coach and proves Lincoln s suspicion that the coach is prejudice. This information
surprised Lincoln and he wondered if he had been wrong about him.Roy promises to defend him
if Coach Yesutis gives him any more trouble. What social changes were/are there? I was
surprised that Lincoln s new house was broken into as well. It was the reason they left their old
neighborhood and it now had happened in their new one. He thought it was ironic because his old
neighborhood was dirty and poor and his new neighborhood was clean and rich. But that didn t

She is willing to take action on this situation with a gun lobby, going for reforms, banning guns
from terrorists. I m running for president to protect our families and communities from the plague
of gun violence, she told the crowd. Clinton strongly supports comprehensive background checks.
Hillary s overall goal is to reduce the number of guns going into the wrong hands, considering that it
s beginning to be the leading cause of death of many young African American men.
Clinton is introducing a comprehensive immigration reform. She will establish a complete
immigration reform that includes extensive and fair citizenship. At the same time, it will protect
our borders with a national security, and treat each citizen with admiration, welcoming millions of
hard workers who deserve to live in the economy. We should be deporting criminals, not hard
working immigrant families who do the very best they can, Clinton said. This statement can be a
harder one to debate, considering every American ancestors or families now can only have the
American Dream. Hillary believes that having an immigration reform will also create more than
enough jobs for everyone. It is very necessary for American citizens to have pride and pleasure in

The Spaniard Revolt
During the time of the Spaniard rule, the Indians were subjugated to not only the crown s law but
also to the Spaniards religion. From the time that the Spaniards landed until the time Pueblo s revolt
took place the Indians were treated terribly. They were not only made into slaves but they were
starved, and treated with violence when the Spaniard friars began to convert the Indians to
Christianity. Spainwanted to become rich off American land but they also had another goal, to
convert the Indians religion. Because the Spaniards made the Indians into slaves, and believed
them barbaric in their religion, they did not see the Indians as equal and were treated horribly;
until, Las Casas began to write letters of the events and PopГ© became the leader of the Pueblo
revolt.

The Indians that were under oppression from the Franciscan friars were infuriated and resented
the friars for the maltreatment of trying to convert them into obedient Christian subjects of the

whipped in public and after this occurrence; he began holding secret meetings in Pueblo
communities (Foner, 2014, p. 34). Eventually the Indians rise up in 1680 with PopГ© as their
leader. The revolt was a success and the Spaniards left along with some of the converted Indians.
When the Spaniards left the Indians destroyed all the symbols that referred to the Spaniards. They
uprooted fruit trees, destroyed cattle, burned churches and images of Christ and the Virgin Mary...
the God of the Spaniards , they shouted, is dead ( Foner, 2014, p. 34). With the Spaniards gone, the

William Shakespeare s Henry V
In times where kings were references to God, and tariffs were set upon to pardon sins. In which the
Great Chain of being dictated the order

Shakespeare s Henry V, narrates the story of one of England s greatest monarchs. Shakespeare,
exploits a specific time period in
Medieval History, The battle of Agincourt, France versus England, in
Henry s lead to what we sought and claimed the French Crown, to whom he was denied his but

higher you are in the chain the nearest you are to
God. As for to be expressed in the play, King Henry Vis the nearest

relinquish itself in obedience to whatever the King would decide on.
In this excerpt, Shakespeare makes a clear distinction on the closeness of the King to the lord, our
God. However, Renaissance
Humanism, goes past the adulation of the King, on to terms of precisely self concern and humane

These figures probably come as no surprise by current market standards and expectations;
however, these figures also suggest and demonstrate an important shift in the US auto industry
in general. No more are the days of the Big Three and their dominance of the market without
foreign influence and challenge. The US auto industry is alive and thriving with an abundance
of oversea firms and production that has captivated and elevated the consumer auto market
domestically and will continue to do so for the foreseen future. (3.3) Market Structure The
current structure of the US auto industry is a who s who of Fortune 500 companies, with long
track records of success, and gold mines of innovation. The current market structure in place has
many of the same foundations as the industry of the pre World War II era, with some important
foreign additions from Japan and other countries ( Markets Data Center , 2011). In 2010, over
28 automobile firms registered sales within the United States. The total number of foreign firms
doing business in the US was 25. To make the point more saliently, 90% of all firms selling autos
within the US are from foreign soil. This number is a stark contrast to what the industry looked
like in the pre World War II era, and is probably hard to imagine for the average consumer.
However, the top producers in the US market

Passover In Jewish Culture
Passover is, without a doubt, one of the most sacred holidays in Jewish culture, and in this
reflection paper, I will take a look at the history of Passover and other important Jewish holy
days, then I will go over how attaining my first Passover affected me. The holy day, know as
Passover, has its origins in Exodus 12, which tells the story of how the Israelites were enslaved
in Egypt by the Pharaoh who had begone to fear them, because of how fast their numbers were
increasing. So, after several years of slavery and oppression, God made Himself known to a man
named Moses. God instructs Moses to go tell the Pharaoh to let God s people go free. The Pharaoh
of course refuses. So, God strikes the people of Egypt with ten different plagues. The... Show more

In this section of the paper, I would like to go over how Passover is celebrated today. For some
Jews, the celebrations last for seven or eight days. Many Jewish families clean their houses
thoroughly during this time to remove all traces of leaven. In many Jewish homes, the children
can take part in a special search for any leftover leaven. On the evening right before the Passover
begins, Jews have a special service called a Seder. Seder takes place over a meal with family and
friends in the home. The Seder plate is made up of a lamb shank, a roasted egg, a green vegetable
to dip in salt water, some bitter herbs and horseradish, and a paste of chopped apples, walnuts, and

Military Customs
Military Customs and Courtesies In the Army and throughout every branch there are certain
customs and courtesies that every soldier and military member must follow in order for there to
be order and discipline on a daily basis. Customs and courtesies are put in to place to show
respect for Non Commissioned Officers and for Officers of all rank. In this essay, I will be writing
about the importance of salutes, standing at the correct position when talking to someone higher
ranking than yourself, using proper language when talking to someone of a higher rank, where you
should walk when walking with someone of a higher rank, as well as other customs and courtesies

Salutes are not required when you are indoors unless you are reporting to an officer or when on
guard duty or when saluting is obviously inappropriate. It is important to show
noncommissioned officers respect as well. You do not salute them; you stand at parade rest
when talking to them and address them by their proper rank. The ranks you say when speaking
to a noncommissioned officer are Corporal, sergeant, master sergeant, first sergeant and sergeant
major. When talking to an NCO, you always finish your sentence with his or her rank. Here is an
example: I do not know the answer but I will find out and let you know Sergeant. It is simple and
easy to remember for most soldiers, while other soldiers need to remind themselves constantly to
do this. Another military custom from ancient times states that you should always sit or walk to
the left of your superiors. This custom came about in old English times and stems from very old
English tradition. The right is known as the position of honor. Most people are right handed and
back in the time of knights, the majority of knights would hold their sword in their right now and
their shield in their left hand.

Important Things To Make Up
With the continual advent of new technology, there are now a variety of options available today to
aid in removing hair, all of which makes hair trimming easier and safer for everyone. Both men and
women are using all manner of solutions from creams to shaving, from tweezers to hair trimmers, in
order to remove unnecessary hair. One such type of hair trimmer easily and quickly removes hair
from the nose.
So, before purchasing one for yourself, consider just a few things that are important to keep in
mind, which broadly include type, safety, and proper light. Following these few essential tips will
provide you with the necessary information needed when about to buy a nose hair trimmer:
Light: One of the most important things to keep in mind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously nobody wants the hair to stay inside his or her nose, as some hair remains in the nose,
even after it s been trimmed. A nose hair trimmer that comes with an in built vacuum removes the
complete hair at the time that you are trimming.
Blade: The material utilized to make the blades is another aspect to take into account. Generally
speaking, there are three different types of materials that are used to make the blades. These are
stainless steel, platinum, and titanium. Platinum retains the sharpness of the blade much longer
time than stainless steel or titanium, but blades made of titanium have the advantage of keeping
them resistant to water or rust.
Style: The style of the nose trimmer is the final and most important aspect to think about when
purchasing a nose hair trimmer. The standard designs of vacuum hair trimmers are generally
vertical and straight. However, those that come in an angular design are more in use today. These
style of vacuum hair trimmer are much more in use because they provide a better angle and hold
which helps to safely trim and remove the hair.

Black Men In Public Spaces Summary
Black men and public spaces is an excellent article it has many similarities to the world today.
This story has several points that I agree with I have a strong connection with the story. I assume
his choice, this new title for the female readers to have more insight on the problems that a black
man go through in the real world. I like how Staples used different scenarios to get the readers to
have an emotional connection. So, that they will be able visualize and understand what he is going
through. This story shows that black men still get judged due to their raceand gender. I don t like
how he acquired to change just to satisfy the needs of others. Till this day black men in society
are always going to get judge by the cause of their skin color. It shouldn t be that way in the
world, but that s how things are. They always must wonder about rather they re going to get
arrested for just roaming the streets at night or entering a jewelry store. Therefore, people are
always categorizing men as lower class men, they don t think that they can be successful in life....

men today that can be the kindest person in the world but, nobody will never see it. They
always judge you base on your race and gender. How come black men are always the ones to get
judged but not women? I don t think that s right. This article not only have me emotionally
connected but it s brings a requirement for a change to be made in today s world. People need to

Case Study On Stroke
1.1. Stroke:
Stroke is a common, serious and global health care problem; it s the third most common cause of
health and first cause of adult disability (12). The rehabilitation is the major part of his care (13).
Stroke is a neurological deficit caused by an acute focal injury f the central nervous system (CNS)
by a vascular cause: a cerebral infraction appears with overt symptoms or intracerebral hemorrhage
with no symptoms (10%) and subarachnoid hemorrhage (5%) (14).
The most impairment that can be regarded as a loss or limitation of function in movement or
limitation in mobility and muscle contraction, is the most common and widely recognized
impairment caused by stroke. The movement of face, arm, and leg of one side of the body are the
structures affected by the motor impairment after stroke and affected 80% of patients. Motor
impairment can be caused by ischemic or hemorrhagic injury to the motor cortex, premotor cortex,
motor tracts, or associated pathways in the cerebrum or cerebellum (15).

fact that the healthy hemisphere removes its inhibition upon the lesion hemisphere. Furthermore,
the corticospinal fibers stemming from the healthy hemisphere, no decussated and aimed for

ways through many different means. Agent wind picks up silt, sand, dust, and other types of small

The First Year Of College
This framework might be relevant to the current study as students in their second year of college
have many decisions to make. It is a time when these students are achieving competence and
developing autonomy (Lemons Richmond, 1987). Difficulties arise such as in choice of core
curriculum courses or in maintaining interpersonal relationships which can precipitate crises of
confidence (Boivin, Fountain, Baylis, 2000). No longer having the support of the fabricated society
(Margolis, 1976) of the first year experience, the second year studentmust now more frequently
rely on their own knowledge and intuition to make decisions. Second year students who have not
yet decided on a major, and who have not confronted their situation, will find the process of
choosing courses to be increasingly difficult (Gordon, 2010). Many of these students choose not
to make decisions, and spend considerably less time doing academic activities (Gardner, 2000;
Gohn, Swartz, Donnelly, 2001; Graunke Woosley, 2005). Gardner (2000) found that they tend to
spend 25% of their time in self gratifying activities. Time not being on their side, the undeclared
second year student faces challenges if they are not yet able nor willing to make a choice of
major (Gordon, 2010). Using the theory of decision fatigue, the process of decision making will
take a toll on these students and soon they will give up (Baumeister Tierney, 2011).

The Pros And Cons Of The Monarch Butterfly
They classify many species of animals and living organisms. The monarch butterflies are not
essential to the ecosystem, so many do not care that they are near threatened. This is a serious
problem because monarchs represent so much more than most humans see. Lafontaine and Jeffery
P. Crolla write various status reports about living creatures. The Monarch butterfly is a symbol of
natural history conservation. Recent disasters and human pressures at the overwintering sites have
made the Monarch susceptible to a catastrophic decline in numbers that could potentially push the
North American population of the Monarch to the brink of extinction (Lafontaine and Crolla). The
quote mentions that the monarchs are a part of history. It also mentions... Show more content on

They do not have the resources they need in order to reproduce. The bare minimum resources
they need is milkweed and the proper daylight and warm temperature. They are barely making it
by in society today and there are statistics to prove that they are hurting. A University of
Minnesota professor, Karen Oberhauser, says the population is less than half of the population
from the previous year (Gregory). She has been studying monarchs for over 30 years. The
Illinois Butterfly Monitoring Network stand behind Oberhauser s observation. This means that
their whole species has been cut in half in just one year. It is frightening to think that the species
could get cut in half again this year if nothing were to change. Animals are classified by how
common they are around the world. The monarch is now the seventh most common species this
year when it was usually second or third most common in previous years. This makes perfect
sense because the population is cut in half so their commonality has been more than doubled.
The places that monarchs have been observed is also decreasing. Places include specific sites
where monarchs gather and preserves throughout North America. Monarchs have been spotted at
only forty eight of the sixty eight sites that are observed in the past year. Twenty of the sites have
no sight of monarchs. The monarchs are categorized into different types of species, and the
number of species has dropped from eighty five to sixty eight this year (Gregory), so this means
that some species have already died off. When people say that the monarch population is not close
to being endangered, it is a false statement because some of the species are already extinct. The
entire monarch population is not near becoming extinct because there are so many types, but the
ones that are already extinct get overlooked because many monarchs look

Basic Components Of The Us Healthcare Delivery System Essay
Healthcare delivery system main objectives. The main objective of a healthcare delivery system
is to ensure that anyone who needs healthcare receives the best care, at a price they can afford
(Barton, 2010, p. 8). The functional components of the US healthcare delivery system. The U.S
healthcare system is large and varied. However, the basic functional components include running
the system, the different branches of the system, how services are rendered, how the services
are funded, and manufacturing of new products (Barton, 2010, p. 6 8). The component of
running the system allows for quality control, making new polices, enforcing said polices, and
monitoring the different aspects of the healthcare delivery system (Barton, 2010, p. 7). The
different branches of the healthcare system allow for people from every level of the finance
scale to seek medical care (Barton, 2010, p. 7). The private market and volunteer organizations
are two examples of different branches of the healthcare system (Barton, 2010, p. 6). Serves are
rendered through specialized branches like primary care and secondary care (Barton, 2010, p. 6).
Meaning you go to the specific doctor needed, for example if you are pregnant seeking prenatal
care you see an OBGYN. The system is funded by many different sources, including the government

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, language and culture are part of who we are as

Giving my students the opportunity to participate in such protocols and be exposed to aboriginal
terms of reference means that they come to understand an aboriginal worldview, which is an
important step towards reconciliation. In collaboration with the Aboriginal Education Officer
(AEO) and the families of the students in my class, I look to explicitly incorporate protocols into
the daily activities and strengthen links to the community. I look to remove the separation that
exists between the two cultures and allow my students to become sensitised at a very young age to
the Indigenous culture. In a similar way to the efforts of the first school of Annabella, who sought
to bridge the gap between the two cultures by teaching the local language first then English, I
would look to incorporate the local Dharug language into the classroom (Groome and Garner,
1993). By incorporating Yunkaporta s 8 ways of learning, specifically the story sharing and
community links aspects, I help to connect learning to real life purposes and contexts (Christie
1986, as cited in Yunkaporta n.d., p.11). Even something as simple as the design of my classroom

The Choreographer For Pendulum By Nisha Jackson
1.Pendulum
The choreographer for Pendulum is Nisha Jackson. This dance had a mood of life, living and the
emotional stages throughout life. The music, lighting and costumes helped in the aid of conveying
the theme. I believe that the dancers were split up into family like groups because only certain ones
wore the same outfits and others had different ones. Also, throughout the dance the groups would
each do their own thing, which would point out the differences between people. The connection
between our class and the concert was when they all had to do their own different dance parts and
interpret what the others were doing.
2.Rememory
The choreographer for Rememory is Raquelle Pollock. Rememory had a mood of carrying
people along in our memories. This dance poked out the most to me because in the beginning of
the dance they dance with no music and they were all in sync. Then the music turned on in the
middle of the dance and made it more interesting and then at the end of the performance with
maybe a minute left the music turned off again and then they were all in sync again. The lighting
was a yellowish color, and their costumes were simple and flowy. The connection between this
dance piece and our dance class was when how we all would start in sync with one another, the
would be given a few counts to make up our own 8 count of dancing and then we would all become
in sync with the same dance again. This happened multiple times throughout the dance, which is

The Controversy About Car Repair Companies
One of the main reasons people complain about car repair companies is that what they thought
would be a very cheap repair ends up costing much more than advertised, or taking longer than
expected. In most cases, this can be avoided by choosing the right car repair company and
ensuring that all the work done is documented and agreed before anything is done to your car.
Let s start with selecting a car repair company. Unless you are in an emergency situation, like
your car engine giving up in the middle of a road trip, chances are you have plenty of time to
choose a good and legitimate mechanic professional to call on when needed. It s always better to
ask for referrals, as few people would recommend a mechanic they didn t have a very good

Compare and Contrast the Biological Processes Underlying Innate and Adaptive Immunity
In the biology Immunology field, immunity is defined as the balanced state of a living organism for
instance, the human body having sufficient biological defenses to combat infection, illness, or
other unwanted biological incursion, while having acceptable tolerance to avoid contamination and
allergies (Sompayrac, 2012, p.5). The immune system is a group of cells, nerves, and molecules that
defend the body from many pathogenic microorganisms and contaminants in the environment. ...

For instance, the adaptive immune classification is organized around a binary class of cells,
namely the T and B cells, whereas the cells of the innate immune classification are considerably
more in number, comprising natural killer cells, dendritic cells, and macrophages (Pulendran,
Katsikis, amp; Schoenberger, 2011, p. 12).
Further differences can be seen from the immune system receptors. The receptors of innate
classification cells are completely germline encoded, in other words, their structure is controlled by
the genome of the cell and has a permanent genetically determined specificity. On the other hand,
adaptive immune classification cells have semantically engendered variable region receptors such
as the TCR and BCR, which are T, and B cell receptors with variable specificities, fashioned by a
complex procedure of gene segment reorganization within the cell (Pulendran, Katsikis,
amp;Schoenberger, 2011, p. 13).
Additionally, another difference is on a population level. Various studies such as the conceptual
framework for innate immunity highlight that innate immune classification cells have a non clonal
distribution of receptors, suggesting that all cells of an identical sort and have receptors with
matching specificities. However, receptors on adaptive immune classification cells are dispersed
clonally in a pattern that are suppurations of a specific clone

Women in the Enlightenment Essay
The Enlightenment is known as the revolution that brought to question the traditional political and
social structures. This included the question of the woman s traditional roles in society. As the
public sphere relied more and more ?? and the advances in scientific and educated thinking, women
sought to join in with the ranks of their male counterparts. Women held gatherings known as salons
where they organized intellectual conversations with their distinguished male guests. Seeking to
further their status, enlightened women published pamphlets and other works advocating for
educational rights and political recognition. Even with this evolution of woman in society, many

Nevertheless, faith in knowledge and reason and in the progress they were held certain to achieve
remained the dominant characteristic of the Enlightenment. With the change in political climate,
women began to grasp the idea of reason in the new society. There was a fight for education,
professionalism, and citizenship. The change that the Enlightenment brought to the world, gave
women the lifeline they needed to pull away from their domesticated roles as housekeepers, wives,
and mothers. Above all, perhaps, the rationalists of the eighteenth century aroused the social
conscience of mankind and stimulated the humanitarianism. The Enlightenment allowed a period
of educational growth to begin. A new love for knowledge and debate sprung up throughout the
century. Women joined in with the intellectual banter by starting salons. If Voltaire transformed the
thoughts, and Rousseau the feelings, of the eighteenth century, it was the salons of Paris that the
new conceptions of reason and nature, of free thought and the importance of the individual, were
sifted, codified, and eventually imposed. Women played a central role in the organization of these
intellectual gatherings, holding them in their homes. They invited prominent, academically inclined
men to join together to share ideas, in which the lady of the home regulated with agendas and
topics. Women were able to be present when men spoke of the political, social, and

This Case Study Is About Applying Qfd In A Managed Care
This case study is about applying QFD in a Managed Care Organization. To enhance total quality
and the complete performance of an organization, it is essential to connect the products and
services to consumers as well as the production procedure. Quality Function Deployment (QFD)
involves the method of delivering top of the line services to consumers by meeting their needs. It
requires transforming customerrequirements into the appropriate technical requirements involved
with all aspects of service delivery (Evans Lindsay 2016).
To identify with the importance of QFD, it is vital that an organization lets consumers help with
establishing and formatting quality standards. Before the case study, the consumers involved with
these services ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some technical requirements mentioned in the survey include font size and color, table of
contents, updates, information that is easy to read and understand, and a section with questions
and answers. In contrast, the customer requirements include what the QFD process is, and this is
often expressed or measured by quality. For the information acquired in this section to be useful
there needs to be a way to convince them so they will favor measuring by quantity. Information
obtained here can be used as the basis for improving service design and modifying the necessary
products (Dror Sukenik 2011)
One important step required by the QFD process act involves the groundwork needed to build
strong relationships with the customers as well as ones within the organization. The second one
involves finding a balance between customer needs and what is provided by the company. When
the MCO in the case study gathered enough information it was determined that a strong connection
existed between technical and customer requirements. As a result, this points out why the sales and
marketing department needs to find ways that will successfully attract the attention of potential
clients as well as incentives to keep them loyal. Before beginning the promotional market method,
a sales department should ensure that the promotional material is designed in a way that is easy to
see as well as easy to read so that necessary information can be understood (Keller,

Relative Formula Mass Scientific Method
What is meant by Relative Formula Mass (RFM)?
Relative Formula Mass is the scientific measurement that is used to measure the mass of one atom
of an element. Carbon is the standard atom for RFM, Carbon has a relative atomic mass (Ar) of 12.
How is Relative Formula Mass calculated?
Relative Formula Mass is calculated in a compound by adding up the numbers of atoms in the
formula and using the relative mass of each atom to calculate the total mass for each element and
add up the total mass of the compound to get the RFM. RFM uses relative atomic mass (Ar) to
calculate mass. To Wouk out the RFM of sodium hydroxide (NaOH), the relative atomic masses
of the elements in this compound are Hydrogen = 1, Sodium = 23, Oxygen = 16 to work out the
RFM these masses must be added together such as; 1 + 23 +16 = 40 RFM.
How to work out moles using Relative Formula Mass:
To work out Relative Formula Mass of moles (Mr) add together the relative atomic mass from all
the atoms in the chemical formula. The molar mass of a substance is the RFM in grams (g/mol).

Past History of Welfare Assistance: One of the first welfare programs to provide income support
to the poor was a federally backed plan called the Aid to Dependent Children (ADC) program.
This legislation was introduced with the establishment of the Social Security program during the
Great Depression. (Rowley, and Peacock 43) The ADC program which had started nearly sixty
years ago is now better known as the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) program,
which provided a federal entitlement to economic support for single parents with children younger
than 18 who fell below a threshold of assets and income (Rowley, and Peacock 44). Federal
guidelines allowed for each state to set its own predetermined needs standards for families of
different sizes and living locations. Both the federal government and the states supplied funding for
the AFDC program (Rowley, and Peacock 50). In 1996 Congress adopted the Temporary Aid to
Needy Families (TANF) program by enacting the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity
Reconciliation Act that ultimately changed the structure of federal financial assistance to the states
thereby abolishing the AFDC program. Another social welfare program was the Supplemental
Security Income (SSI) program. Congress

Bach And His Life Story Of Johann Sebastian Bach

most well known composer would have to be Johann Sebastian Bach. Do you know of Bach and
his life story?
Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Central Germany in Eisenach on March 21, 1685(2). His
father, grandfather, and great grandfather were involved with music, which made Bach destined
to take part in music(1). Before Bach was ten years old his parents has passed and he went to

church choir and playing the organ and the violin and by the age of eighteen he became an
organist at Arnstadt(1). A couple years later on October 17th, 1707, Bach had got married to

Summary Of Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar
In Sylvia Plath s autobiographical novel, The Bell Jar, Plath journeys through the mental
deterioration and reconstruction of Esther Greenwood. Sylvia Plath, college educated and
highly independent when she was a young adult in the fifties, was often described as the girl
who wanted to be God. (Barnard) Plath always had a passion for English and writing, and in
most of her works, she exhibits dark and unnerving themes. Assumingly, this dark tone is derived
from her father s death and cruel departure from her beloved home near the sea when she was
eight years old. Plath also had to surmount her constant repression of personality as people, men in
particular, criticized her for being too brainy . While being a renowned author, Plath is most known
for her abstract poems and novels that showcase intellectual and deranged topics. (Barnard). The
Bell Jaris no exception to this standard. Much like Plath herself, Esther Greenwood is depressed
and has a cool and detached manner. Esther s mental state, or lack thereof, is diminished by
doubtful attitudes of others and finally rebuilt through the trusting and deserved therapy of Doctor
Nolan. The novel narrated Esther s downward spiral as she goes from able bodied and healthy to
detached to suicidal and, finally, to her recovery. As Esther s city based internship is coming to an
end, Esther begins feeling inadequate and unhappy. As her depression deepens, coddling and

Successes And Failures Of American Policy Towards The GCC...
Topic: U.S Arab relations: Assessing the successes and failures of American policy towards the
GCC since 2008.
For the United States, the Gulf region remains one of the most geo strategically important locations
in the world for diplomatic, intelligence cooperation, and business opportunities such as
hydrocarbons and arms. This strategic cooperation has provided the region some stability,
particularly with the rise of Iran and the Shi a crescent and the chaotic outcome of the war in Iraq.
The council members have also relied on the United State to fend off some of the domestic
challenges to the existing regimes that are both internally and regionally rooted.
The Gulf houses half of the world s oil reserves and a third of the natural gas. The Gulf States still
continue to supply the international markets with a significant amount of the hydrocarbons. The
stability of the region is crucial for the stability in the global oil markets. The Gulf also hosts one
of the most strategically and important choke points in global trade, The Straits of Hormuz, which
moves about 35% of the global seaborne oil, natural gas and other trade goods.
According to Taimur Khan from the National World who wrote about a report that was published
by the United States State Department they praised the GCC countries for their strong regional and
international counterterrorism cooperation. The findings were that the UAE had the greatest
progress in cutting off illegals flows of money to

Corruption In The Truman Show
The media has been able to manipulate people by making them believe what they say. One
example that satirizes the media is a movie called The Truman show. Throughout the Truman
show, the main character, Truman Burbank, is trapped in a stage set which he perceives as the
real world. As he has lived there for around 30 years he starts to get the perception of being in a
false environment. The media plays a big role in our lives as Truman is exposed to the corrupt side
of them.
Truman Burbank has been living a life of lies. Ever since he was born, every surrounding he sees
is an illusion set up for the audience to watch. The people he interacts with, primarily his friends
and families, are just actors used to represents Truman s life. Constantly, in order to prevent him
from leaving Seahaven from discovering the truth, they made him hydrophobic. Primarily,
because they do not have a big enough set for him to leave. Unexpected results begin to make
Truman paranoid. Starting with, seeing a set behind an elevator, the car radio mentioning his
every move, and even his own wife advertising to the audience which all Truman is unaware of. In
order for Truman to escape this fake reality and live up to his full potential of becoming an
explorer, he sets out to the ocean. From there, the director of the Truman show advises him to stay
as it is safe and that he would get hurt in the real world. But not wanting live a life with a bunch of
lies, Truman sets out to the unknown. The media

Psychiatric Treatment Of Psychiatric Harm
This essay is based on the subject of whether or not a duty of care, in terms of psychiatric harm
can be established through an individual or individuals being negligent. The defendant s
negligence is either due to almost injuring the claimant, who then suffers from psychiatric harm,
or killing or badly injuring a victim causing the claimant to suffer from psychiatric harm.
Psychiatric harm can be defined as an assault on a person s senses or mind rather than actual
physical contact. It has to be determined from the scenarios given, whether or not Steve could be
held liable for the recognisable psychiatric harm of the individuals given in the scenario s.

With Daria stating she has nightmares and is unable to return to work, it has to be decided
whether this further contributes to her condition, as for a defendant to be liable, you have to
have a recognised medical condition. If Daria is seen to have a recognisable psychiatric illness
she would have been owed a duty of care by Steve. For this to be fully established, the case of
Caparo states there are three requirements for a duty of care to be owed. These requirements are
foreseeability, proximity and fair, just and reasonable. It can be understood that the actions of
driving in a negligent manner, as stated in the scenario of Tom, that harm to someone on the
road would be reasonably foreseeable. The relationship of proximity in this context relates space
and time. With Daria being there at the exact timing of Tom s death and being only a few inches
from injury herself, it could be proven she satisfies the requirement for this particular part of the
test by way of her shock being caused due to sudden and direct witnessing. This can be further
analysed in the case of McLoughlin v O Brien where the House of Lords allowed the plaintiffs
claim on the basis she had been around at the time of the immediate

Ghost Real Research Paper
The team of investigators is finished recording for today. They begin reviewing the footage and
come across a strange sound that was not witnessed at the time of recording. Ghosts are
considered to be spirits of deceased people. They are known to possess objects and haunt people.
Their existence is very controversial because there is little evidence in order to prove they are
real. Ghosts are real because there is photographic evidence, auditory evidence, and there is no way
to prove that they are not real. There is photographic evidence for the existence of ghosts.
Paranormal investigators have uncovered old photos, that could not have been edited at the time in

They also claim that Audio recordings are fake and just made to entertain people, however, true
paranormal investigators spend hours upon hours of recording suspicious, haunted places and
most people are amateurs that do not fully understand the process of hunting ghosts. Their last
counter point is that if there is no way to prove the existence of ghosts, then why try to prove their
existence if they cannot be proven. If there is no way to prove that ghosts are real, then it is
impossible to know if they are not

The Rhetorical Analysis Of John F. Kennedy
In the early 1960 s, the United States of America was endeavoring major racial complications and
tension, while fighting communism overseas and protecting the nation from nuclear war and
weapons. Fear and doubt overwhelmed the majority of the American people and were desperate for
a strong, courageous leader. Kennedy performed many powerful speeches during his presidency,
however, his most influential speech was his presidential inaugural address on January 20, 1961.
John F. Kennedyprovided substantial reassurance when he addressed the nation shortly after being
sworn into office. When attempting to inspire and motivate our citizens, Kennedy proposed that
our citizens were being tempted by war, and successfully appealed to the emotions of his
audience. He used this speech to not only celebrate his victory, but to correspondingly unite the
American people. His inaugural speech to the world on that day imposed a sense of tranquility
and confidence in their new leader that was much needed at the time. It presents a strong presence
of ethos, pathos, and logos to effectively accomplish his goal of speaking to the heart of the
audience. My goal in this paper is to successfully evaluate and examine the passionate speech that
President Kennedy performed because he invoked a sense of unity in order to accomplish lasting
harmony. Kennedy s main purpose of the speech was to unite all of his listeners together. At the
time, there were many complications regarding the United States

It will be more convenient for some manufacturers to sell to wholesalers who then sell to retailers,
while others will prefer to sell directly to retailers or customers.
The promotionPromotion is the business of communicating with customers. It will provide
information that will assist them in making a decision to purchase a product or service. The
pace and creativity of some promotional activities are almost alien to normal business
activities. The cost associated with promotion or advertising goods and services often represents
a size able proportion of the overall cost of producing an item. However, successful promotion
increases sales so that advertising and other costs are spread over a larger output. Though
increased promotional activity is often a sign of a response to a problem such as competitive

Who Is Virgil A Hero Or A Traitor
Rome wasn t built in a day, and neither were the accounts of history that glorify Roman Empire.
Virgil crafts a very carefully worded and cautiously selected version of Roman history, that
glorifies Rome and its deeds, atrocities and achievements alike. The catalogue of events, functions
as a version of history or propaganda that supports and reveres the Roman Empire. The retelling
starts with humble beginnings, ... licked her wolf pups into shape with a mother s tongue (Virgil
1062). It then follows with the beginnings of Romeas a city, then as a republic and finally as a fierce
empire. Virgil traces an idyllic history of Rome, that glosses over any details that do not bring
glory to the empire, and in doing so creates a propagandic version of events.... Show more content

He forged the homes of hell, the high Gates of Death and the torments of the doomed, with you,
Catiline, dangling from a beetling crag, (Virgil 1063). Catiline, a traitor to Rome, tried to
overthrow the Roman Republic in the first century B.C.E., and for his actions against Rome, he
is sent to one of the worst parts of hell, and is depicted as dangling from a ledge above the Furies
open mouths, which could imply the torture of actually being eaten alive, or simply waiting for
the Furies to deliver a punishment or torture. Either way, it is definitively not a desired fate.
Conversely, Cato, a defender of the Roman Republic, who opposed to Julius Caesar, is heiled as
a virtuous man, and sent to the heaven of the Roman afterlife. Cato is said to be, set apart, the
virtuous souls, with Cato giving laws (Virgil 1063). The dichotomy of the story of Cato and
Catiline, illustrates a clear political message; those who support Rome are rewarded and those who

An Unexamined Life Of Socrates
An Unexamined Life
Lyndsey Emry
PHIL 1381 17 Introduction to Philosophy
Professor Bannister
When studying Socrates, you the reader must come up with your point of view and take what
Socrates is trying to teach into your own approach. You must also think why Socrates choose the
words he choose. Socrates careful choice of words give much color to his quote, an unexamined
life is no life for a human being to live. The word examined for example has many definitions,
including: to observe or inspect carefully or critically; to study or analyze; to check the health or
condition of something or someone; to inquire into; et cetera. We could imagine that Socrates
would insist that asking other people what the quote means goes against its very nature. By
suggesting this, Socrates gives praise to questions such as, Is there more to reality than that
which we can see and touch? Socrates also asks, Am I living my life according to my own rules,
or the rules set for me by others? Socrates believed that the purpose of human life was personal and
spiritual growth. We are unable to grow toward greater understanding of our true nature unless we
take the time to examine and reflect upon our life. As another philosopher, Santayana, observed, He
who does not remember the past is condemned to repeat it.
So what does Socrates mean when he says, an unexamined life is no life for a human being to
live? Well in a more literal and modern sense, I believe Socrates intended

Pharmacy Improvement Services at Cvs
The Service Process at (CVS) The process consisted of five basic steps (refer to Figure 1), the
first being the drop off. A customer would drop off a script and write the requested pickup time
on the script itself, then put it in a box that was divided into a number of slots. These slots were
assigned to a specific time period and the tech would put the script into the slot corresponding to
the hour before the desired pickup time. The busiest times at the drop off were before work,
lunchtime, and after work. Regardless of when they dropped them off, more customers wanted to
pick up their filled prescriptions after work than at any other time. The next step would be the data
entry. Each hour, a tech would take the hour s scripts from... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The problems with the fulfilment process and recommended changes An Overview The overall
problems faced during the entire pharmacy fulfilment process were that pickup window technicians
dealt with customers who did not get what they were expecting. Based on their analyses and
observations, the PSI team estimated that 16% of customers fell into this category. It was also even
more disturbing that 27% of scripts encountered a substantial problem at some point in the
fulfilment process. It should also be noted that even though CVS grew at market rates, it was only
because customers believed that no one provided great services and they thought it was difficult to
switch from one pharmacy to another. Despite this, at the start of 200, approximately 7.2 million
regular pharmacy customers left CVS during the year, causing CVS to lose an estimated 55 million
annual prescriptions that would have contributed $2.5 billion to revenue. It can therefore be seen
retaining customers should be the main agenda for CVS. This can be done through improvement in
CVS s services and operations. In order to achieve this outcome our group feels that an upgraded
computerized service system, complete with a more comprehensive database would provide the
strong foundations for a smooth business operation. The system should be able to monitor and
record logistics, inventory movements, insurance checks, customer profiles etc. Secondly, training

Child And Teen Beauty Pageants
It is not easy to be in the public s eye and constantly being watched can take a toll on a person.
Hundreds of child stars have grown up to be consumed with depression, eating disorders, drug
and alcohol addiction, and severe self esteem issues. So why would children that perform in
child and teen beauty pageants be any different? They are constantly being judged by their
looks, their actions, their poise and posture, their attitude and behaviors, the list goes on and on.
That could severely affect the way these children see themselves as they get older. When a child
is constantly being watched and criticized in every aspect, they develop a complex and a need to
be perfect, when in fact perfection does not exist. This is when their depression or drug addictions
might seep in, when they realize they can never live up to the standards that others have set on
them. This is a very dangerous place to be, and no child or teenager should have to suffer through
such a time as this. Childhood should be full of playing outside with friends, going to the pool or
amusement park, visiting the beach or the mountains with family. It shouldn t consist of
maintaining perfection with all the fakeness day in and day out, or there could be some very real
consequences that might follow. Although there are massive amounts of negatives that go along
with child beauty pageants, there are also some positive aspects to them. Some women have gained
a great deal of success from entering into beauty

How Does Ed Byrne Create Humour
Ed Byrne, an Irish stand up comedian, uses various conscious techniques in order to create
humour. When performing, he tends to talk at a fast pace, uses body language and occasionally
uses profanity. In this essay, I will compare both comedian and writer, in how Ed Byrne creates
humour and if it reflects how Sarah Thorne describes how humour is produced in her chapter titled
The Language of Humour (Thorne 2008).
Ed Byrne predominantly discusses everyday life such as, becoming a father, relationships and
ordinary things such as attending the doctor s. Thorne states, humour is based on every day
observations , comedians make witticisms the audience can relate too, they have an understanding
as to where they re coming from and can identify truth in the exaggerated version of these events
Thorne 2008:502). Ed Byrne uses this method in virtually all of his shows as it forms a connection
with the audience as they are seen as equal to one another. Author, Alison Ross states that laughter
comes from the enjoyment in shared human experience. (Ross 1998:106).

The joke is humorous as tin foil and aluminium foil are two different things, therefore the joke is
on Ed Byrne. An English audience would recognise the term tin foil . Sarah Thorne says humour
can become anti social , meaning the audience are left feeling shocked rather than amused. (Thorne
2008: 508). If the geographical identity of the audience were American, the joke would not work as
it s discourteous to suggest everyone dislikes Americans. The rhetorical question combined with
profanity, the pause and then the incongruity signalling the end of the joke, all enhance the
delivery. According to a lecture, part of module 100DEL, the context of the joke defines the
audience, shifting our interpretations of how a joke is understood (Cribb 2015). This means a

John Stith Pemberton was a man who was well respected by the state s medical establishment. He
was known for being the inventor of the beverage Coca Cola and he grew up in Atlanta, Georgia.
He spent most of his youthful years in Rome, Georgia after being born in Knoxville, Georgia in
1831. Pemberton did his studies at Southern Botanico Medical College of Georgia in 1850. He

Pemberton Company, which gave him a huge salary, did not run so smoothly. The reason why
Pemberton s business did not run very well was due to the period of prohibition during the year
1885. Since Atlanta prohibited the use of alcohol in 1885, Pemberton had to swap the French
Wine Coca formula by removing the word French Wine (Biography John S. Pemberton Inventor
of Coca Cola). Cocaine, being the originally formula used for Coca Cola, is no longer the main
content for Coca Cola. Cocaine was then replaced with sugar, caffeine, starch, citric acid, and oil
fruits. For the main ingredient, Pemberton had to find and collect seeds cola plant native to
tropical regions of West Africa and the tree coca leaves from South Africa (Biography John S.
Pemberton Inventor of Coca Cola). Pemberton dried both the cola nut and coca leaves manually.
Pemberton made his business successful and the potion he had created was revealed as he had
hoped (Biography John S. Pemberton Inventor of Coca Cola). Then Pemberton s colleague
Robinson came up with a name for the potion and he suggested the name Coca Cola . Pemberton
approved the name Coca Cola . The Coca Cola formula, coming from Pemberton, was named

An example of this is in the beginning of the book, when Lincoln s Old house has been burglarized. Eventually Lincoln s mother makes the decision to move away to a safer neighborhood . Lincoln is fairly lucky in his case, as his mother had saved money to get out of the Barrio. However, most of Lincoln s friends aren t so lucky as they dont have the money to get out of the ghetto. And try not to forget what comes with the Barrio, though these issues are not explored in this book gang violence and drugs are common issues within ghettos around the world today. He felt very guilty about that and thought he should be loyal to his old teammates. The most personal change happened toward the end of their game. He had been sidelined for most of it but put in to play at the end. This is when he decided that he would not pick sides. That he would play his heart out and win for himself. He tried his best and lost. He felt great about playing his best and not picking sides and for trying to win for himself. Another time there was a personal change was when his mother s boyfriend shared that he too had played for Franklin against Lincoln s new coach and proves Lincoln s suspicion that the coach is prejudice. This information surprised Lincoln and he wondered if he had been wrong about him.Roy promises to defend him if Coach Yesutis gives him any more trouble. What social changes were/are there? I was surprised that Lincoln s new house was broken into as well. It was the reason they left their old neighborhood and it now had happened in their new one. He thought it was ironic because his old neighborhood was dirty and poor and his new neighborhood was clean and rich. But that didn t seem to stop the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The US auto industry is alive and thriving with an abundance of oversea firms and production that has captivated and elevated the consumer auto market domestically and will continue to do so for the foreseen future. • 19. The First Year Of College This framework might be relevant to the current study as students in their second year of college have many decisions to make. It is a time when these students are achieving competence and developing autonomy (Lemons Richmond, 1987). Difficulties arise such as in choice of core curriculum courses or in maintaining interpersonal relationships which can precipitate crises of confidence (Boivin, Fountain, Baylis, 2000). No longer having the support of the fabricated society (Margolis, 1976) of the first year experience, the second year studentmust now more frequently rely on their own knowledge and intuition to make decisions. Second year students who have not yet decided on a major, and who have not confronted their situation, will find the process of choosing courses to be increasingly difficult (Gordon, 2010). Many of these students choose not to make decisions, and spend considerably less time doing academic activities (Gardner, 2000; Gohn, Swartz, Donnelly, 2001; Graunke Woosley, 2005). Gardner (2000) found that they tend to spend 25% of their time in self gratifying activities. Time not being on their side, the undeclared second year student faces challenges if they are not yet able nor willing to make a choice of major (Gordon, 2010). The Illinois Butterfly Monitoring Network stand behind Oberhauser s observation. This means that their whole species has been cut in half in just one year. It is frightening to think that the species could get cut in half again this year if nothing were to change. Animals are classified by how common they are around the world. The monarch is now the seventh most common species this year when it was usually second or third most common in previous years. This makes perfect sense because the population is cut in half so their commonality has been more than doubled. The places that monarchs have been observed is also decreasing. Places include specific sites where monarchs gather and preserves throughout North America. Monarchs have been spotted at only forty eight of the sixty eight sites that are observed in the past year. Twenty of the sites have no sight of monarchs. The monarchs are categorized into different types of species, and the number of species has dropped from eighty five to sixty eight this year (Gregory), so this means that some species have already died off. When people say that the monarch population is not close to being endangered, it is a false statement because some of the species are already extinct. Further differences can be seen from the immune system receptors. The receptors of innate classification cells are completely germline encoded, in other words, their structure is controlled by the genome of the cell and has a permanent genetically determined specificity. On the other hand, adaptive immune classification cells have semantically engendered variable region receptors such as the TCR and BCR, which are T, and B cell receptors with variable specificities, fashioned by a complex procedure of gene segment reorganization within the cell (Pulendran, Katsikis, amp;Schoenberger, 2011, p. 13). Additionally, another difference is on a population level. Various studies such as the conceptual framework for innate immunity highlight that innate immune classification cells have a non clonal distribution of receptors, suggesting that all cells of an identical sort and have receptors with matching specificities. Past History of Welfare Assistance: One of the first welfare programs to provide income support to the poor was a federally backed plan called the Aid to Dependent Children (ADC) program. This legislation was introduced with the establishment of the Social Security program during the Great Depression. (Rowley, and Peacock 43) The ADC program which had started nearly sixty years ago is now better known as the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) program, which provided a federal entitlement to economic support for single parents with children younger than 18 who fell below a threshold of assets and income (Rowley, and Peacock 44). Federal guidelines allowed for each state to set its own predetermined needs standards for families of different sizes and living locations. Both the federal government and the states supplied funding for the AFDC program (Rowley, and Peacock 50). In 1996 Congress adopted the Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF) program by enacting the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act that ultimately changed the structure of federal financial assistance to the states thereby abolishing the AFDC program. Sylvia Plath, college educated and highly independent when she was a young adult in the fifties, was often described as the girl who wanted to be God. (Barnard) Plath always had a passion for English and writing, and in most of her works, she exhibits dark and unnerving themes. Assumingly, this dark tone is derived from her father s death and cruel departure from her beloved home near the sea when she was eight years old. Plath also had to surmount her constant repression of personality as people, men in particular, criticized her for being too brainy . While being a renowned author, Plath is most known for her abstract poems and novels that showcase intellectual and deranged topics. (Barnard). The Bell Jaris no exception to this standard. Much like Plath herself, Esther Greenwood is depressed and has a cool and detached manner. Esther s mental state, or lack thereof, is diminished by doubtful attitudes of others and finally rebuilt through the trusting and deserved therapy of Doctor Nolan. The novel narrated Esther s downward spiral as she goes from able bodied and healthy to detached to suicidal and, finally, to her recovery. As Esther s city based internship is coming to an end, Esther begins feeling inadequate and unhappy. As her depression deepens, coddling and condescending people send Esther into a negative spiral. For this to be fully established, the case of Caparo states there are three requirements for a duty of care to be owed. These requirements are foreseeability, proximity and fair, just and reasonable. It can be understood that the actions of driving in a negligent manner, as stated in the scenario of Tom, that harm to someone on the road would be reasonably foreseeable. An Unexamined Life Of Socrates An Unexamined Life Lyndsey Emry PHIL 1381 17 Introduction to Philosophy Professor Bannister When studying Socrates, you the reader must come up with your point of view and take what Socrates is trying to teach into your own approach. You must also think why Socrates choose the words he choose. Socrates careful choice of words give much color to his quote, an unexamined life is no life for a human being to live. The word examined for example has many definitions, including: to observe or inspect carefully or critically; to study or analyze; to check the health or condition of something or someone; to inquire into; et cetera. We could imagine that Socrates would insist that asking other people what the quote means goes against its very nature. By suggesting this, Socrates gives praise to questions such as, Is there more to reality than that which we can see and touch? Socrates also asks, Am I living my life according to my own rules, or the rules set for me by others? Socrates believed that the purpose of human life was personal and spiritual growth. We are unable to grow toward greater understanding of our true nature unless we take the time to examine and reflect upon our life. As another philosopher, Santayana, observed, He who does not remember the past is condemned to repeat it. So what does Socrates mean when he says, an unexamined life is no life for a human being to live? Well in a more literal and modern sense, I believe Socrates intended ... It was also even more disturbing that 27% of scripts encountered a substantial problem at some point in the fulfilment process. They are constantly being judged by their looks, their actions, their poise and posture, their attitude and behaviors, the list goes on and on.
