Immigration Has Shaped America,But Now It S Becoming Harder
Immigration has shaped America, but now it s becoming harder and harder to enter this country.
With the growing threat that immigration is bad and that illegal immigrants are stealing American
jobs, many people believe the laws need to be even more strict. With Donald Trump recently
elected that may become a reality. Trump has said I will build a great wall and also anyone who is
in the United StatesIllegally is subject to deportation (Brandner). While it is important that Illegal
immigrants be dealt with not all of them are bad. Immigration has shaped the United States before
and will continue to help The United States as long as people want to live here. Immigration has

DACA is a program that allows young people from other countries to come live in the U.S with
no risk of being deported. This program has helped roughly 665,000 people live in the U.S
(Wolgin). Although it has become harder to live in the U.S many people still try and enter
because they know America gives them an opportunity that no other country does. This is what
continues to make America great. While a constant flow of people coming to America seems
like a great idea to most, President elect Trump thinks the U.S need to limit the people it let in.
During his campaign he said he would repeal DACA and kick out all illegal immigrants. His
thought process behind this is that it will free up jobs for Americans. Trump is right that it will
free up jobs as roughly 8 million illegal immigrants currently have jobs , but the issue is that
Americans won t have the proper training to take all of these jobs (Krogstad). This will lead to
companies not producing what they should and being forced to lay off people. So overall by
kicking out all immigrants Trump will be costing many Americans jobs and could lead to
another depression. Another thing that Trump has said he will do is build a wall around the
U.S and Mexico. This wall will cost millions, maybe even billions of dollars, yet Trump has not
elaborated on how it will be paid for. He has said he will get Mexico to pay for it and that he has a
plan to do it, but nobody knows what that is. This

Civic Duties of Teenagers
Quinn Bailey
3/4/2013
Civic Duties of Teenagers
Introduction Civic duty is the obligation to each of us to leave our community in a better
condition than we found it. Every person in our country has rights, and with those rights come
responsibilities. That is what civic duty is, your rights and responsibilities that help contribute to
society. Every single day we perform these tasks to help better our country as a whole. Teenagers
have a huge role in this circle, whether they believe it or not. The civic duties that teenagers
perform are a crucial part of our society, because they are the ones who grow up to be the next
generation.
Rights of a Teenager As a teenager, you are entitled to your rights. It s easy to think that teens have

I think teenagers should volunteer more often, he said. The definition of civic duty is literally
the activities that one does to serve their community. Teens don t often think about how big their
role is in society... said Bailey. When I was younger, I was in all sorts community projects.
Bailey would like to see more teens signing up to volunteer, but he is very strong about his
opinion that it should be a choice. He thinks adults should steer teenagers in the right direction,
and then let them make the decisions. Being a teenager is a good time to learn how to make
responsible decisions. It should be voluntary, says Bailey. You can lead a horse to water, but you
can t make them drink.
My Civic Duties I find myself very lucky to live in the United States of America. Sadly, in many
other countries teenagers like me are much less fortunate and have fewer rights. What is even more
sad to me is that many teenagers take for granted the rights they inherit as U.S. citizens. One
example is that some teens actually take up the opportunity to drop out of high school whenever
they get the chance. It upsets me that they don t continue with their education and become a better
educated citizen, especially considering it is free.
As an American, I share the right of free speech with all other citizens. I also reserve the right to
drive. As of age fourteen, I am legally

Sioux Nation Lakota Analysis
Ever changing, the world promised a comfort of shared misery and remained reliable. Brutal
truths are instilled, early and sudden, as lasting lessons always present and impossible to ignore.
When bold questions slither into a mind as to why anything is and what may be the reason for the
continued existence, people find or create places of unjustifiable magnificence. Paha Sapa, the
heart of everything that is, is this place for the Sioux. The War of the Black Hillsbetween the Sioux
Nation Lakota and the U.S. Americans has lasted for more than a century, and continues in the
courts, in the lives of its warriors, and is protested through stone. The Black Hills land claims
have been juggled through the courts since the courts became the only viable option to the Sioux
Nation. The battle for the land has the broken promise of the two treaties of Fort Laramie as a
focal point. This breach of promise, foreseeable in consideration of all other promises made before,
remains as a last possible hope of demonstrated integrity should the US... Show more content on

Sarojini Naidu Essay
Poetry is a pleasure giving medium. This medium is handled by different poets in the world. Most
of the poets in India present their poetry in their mother tongue only. Those who present poetry in
languages other their own have not succeeded so well as Sarojini Naidu.
There are not many in India who have written poetry in English. Among them, Sarojini Naidu
stands first. Her poems are praised not only in India, but all over the world.
Though she has written poems on religion, country, women s freedom, etc., her poems on nature
occupy the first place in her poetry. Even in sorrow, her nature poems glow with a touch of her
suffering.
Sarojini Naidu was a distinguished poet, renowned freedom fighter and one of the great orators of
her time. She was famously known as Bharatiya Kokila (The Nightingale of India). Sarojini Naidu
was the first Indian woman to become the President of the Indian National Congress and the first
woman to become the governor of a state in India.

Jim Barborak has seemingly endless energy. As co director of the Center for Protected Area
Management at Colorado State University, he helps run one of the longest standing programs
in the country. The CSU program is known around the world for providing teaching, training
and technical assistance for rangers and staff in the world s parks and protected natural areas.
Barborak moderated a panel at the recent World Ranger Congress, which was held in Estes Park,
Colorado. He was not only responsible for introducing the speakers and providing an overview
of the topic roles of agencies in the U.S. and around the world in visitor and resource protection
but he also translated the session into Spanish as participants spoke. He and Ryan Finchum, also
a co director for CPAM, travel to Brazil, Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, Peru and Panama, among other
countries. They help government agencies and nongovernmental organizations with things like
developing trails or building a successful visitor s center. The role of conservation agencies is
changing rapidly, Barborak said during the panel session. Conservation budgets are declining or
stable, and responsibilities are increasing, he said. The number of hectares of land we have to
protect is going up. How do we conserve biodiversity, and provide good visitor services? Partners,
volunteers important In the U.S. and internationally, conservationists are relying much more on

Humans Ought To Use Nature To Serve Their Own Needs Summary
In the essay Humans Ought to Use Nature to Serve Their Own Needs, Tibor R. Machan says
humans should use nature for their own wants and feel no guilt or shame about it. He feels that it is
okay for human beings to keep destroying the planet with pollution, and the toxic fumes and
chemicals that we pump into the air we breathe every day. Machan believes that because human
beings are nature themselves, we should be able to use nature however we please and indulge in
activities just for our own personal enjoyment and happiness. There are many environmental
activists concerned with the disappearing rain forests and scientists who study global warmingwho
would be appalled at Tibor R. Machan when he says he is grateful for all of the despoiling of our
planet, not to mention everything else he feels about exploiting nature just for fun activities.
Imagine you are a scientist who studies global warming and have seen the effects of human
activity on the planet. You have studied and watched the temperatures rising every year, the ice
caps slowly melting causing sea levels to rise and whole species becoming in fear of extinction.
The evidence of global warming is staggering to you, but still people deny it is even real, and
then to read Tibor R. Machans short essay about how he is actually grateful for the despoiling of
our planet would be devastating. As a scientist who has seen the damage the despoiling has caused,
you would say that his views are completely wrong and probably

Leadership Styles During The Workplace
Different leadership styles result in various results in the workplace. The Fiedler contingency
model postulates a leader s style is static; however, God can transform anyone s heart and thus
their leadership style. Additionally, the grapevine can be an important tool for employers. As long
as each individual chooses to use gossip for honorable purposes, God will bless the workplace.

Approaches to Leadership
There are many different ways in which individuals lead. Whether implicit or by choice, the
style and the way it is applied can lead to success or failure in the workplace. My boss and I
approach leadership in completely different ways. While my boss leans toward only a
transactional style, specifically Laissez faire, or management by exception, I prefer a combination
of transactional and translational styles. According to Robbins and Judge (2012), Laissez faire is
the most passive and therefore least effective of leader behaviors (Robbins Judge, 2012, p. 382).
Additionally, management by exception is somewhat better, however it remains one of the weakest
leadership styles. Leaders using this style fail to be engaged with the employees unless and until
there is an issue requiring their

Notes On Web Usage Mining
2. WEB USAGE MINING
Data mining techniques can be mainly divided into three categories: Web structural mining, Web
Content mining and web usage mining. Web structural mining is used to discover structure from
data available on web like hyperlinks and documents. It can be helpful to the user for navigating
within documents as mining can be done to retrieve intra and inter hyperlinks and DOM structure
out of documents. Web Content mining can be used to extract information from the data available
on web like texts, videos, images, audio files etc. Web usage mining is the application of data
mining techniques to discover interesting usage patterns from web usage data, in order to
understand and better serve the needs of web based applications (Srivastava, Cooley, Deshpande,
and Tan 2000). Websites or usage data takes user s available information and browsing history,
location of user etc. as input for mining information. Web usage mining can be further divided
into three categories depending upon the type of data used for mining: web server logs,
application server, application level logs. Web usage mining can be highly helpful in mining the
data for web applications and thus helping development in fields like E Commerce. It can be
helpful to discover usage patterns from Web data, thus helping serve better the needs of Web based
applications. Web usage mining can be categorized into three different phases: Preprocessing,
Pattern Discovery and Pattern Analysis. I believe, this

The Proposition That Different Personalities Contribute...
The purpose of this assignment is to explore the Proposition that Different Personalities contribute
to Effective Teams . Learning styles is defined as the process that learners use to sort and process
information (Cano, Garton Raven, 1992). Eysenck (1978) who developed the personality theories
of Extraversion (E), Neuroticism (N) and Psychoticism (P), noted that personality and learningare
closely related. Furthermore it was also found that there is a large overlap between personality and
learning styles(Jackson Lawty Jones, 1996) and Duff, Boyle, Dunleavy and Ferguson (2004)
state that an individuals learning orientation and approach to learning, is partially determined by
their personality. There is a lot of research (Duff Duffy, 2002; Lhori Posey, 2003; Coffield et al.,
2004; Reynold Vince, 2007; Welsh et al., 2007; Hornyak et al., 2007; Herbert Stenfors, 2007;
Sievers, 2007; Hyde, 2007; Kayes, 2007; Garcia et al., 2007; Demirbas Demirkan, 2007;
Armstrong Mahmud, 2008; Li et al., 2008) that shows people have a dominant learning style but
can also have a mixture of others. In this assignment I will provide evidence off different theories
which support learning styles and investigate different learning models such as Kolbs (1984) and
Honey and Mumford (1986). Different personalities can depict suitable team roles but in order to
decide if these contribute to effective teams I will examine team theories such as Meredith Belbins
Team roles (1981, 1993) and

California Gold Rush
When people hear the term gold rush it is automatically associated with California. The first, gold
rush was in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. This was a tremendous impact due to people
rushing to the Carolina s mountains. People flocked from all neighboring states to strike rich. The
second, was in Georgia a three ounce nugget was found. Miners began to search in every cave for
gold. The third, gold rush was in California. Flakes of gold were found in the Sacramento Valley.
The population expanded to 100,000. Locals benefited from the mast flock of miners. People have

amount of women were able to travel along with their husbands. Many of them spent their entire
live savings to make the journey. The influx of miners came from all over the United States. The
news was also heard all over the world and migrants from Peru, Panama, and as far as China
traveled in ships to achieve their destination. At first there were only two ways to reach
California. Many endured the six months long trip to California. One way was the Oregon Trail
and the second was through ships. People who lived on the east coast of the United States chose
the Oregon Trail and it was a harsh journey. The constant fear due to hostile territory and also the
illnesses caused a great deal of stress for them and the wear and tear of their wagons. The other

way down South America and turn up to California. Either way

For most people, the Zika infection is not a big deal. The problem is that areas affected by the
Zika outbreak are seeing an unusual rise in some serious conditions, and evidence points to the
virus as the cause. Dozens of other Zika cases have surfaced the United States, but has involved
people who became infected with the mosquito born virus while traveling to Zika affect countries.
(Fox News, 2016)
In 1947, the Zika virus was first identified in a monkey that was being used to monitor the
presence of yellow fever virus in the Zika Forest of Uganda. A year later, the virus was also
found in the mosquito species, Aedes africanus, that was caught on a tree platform in the same
forest. In 1952, the first human case was detected in Uganda and United Republic of Tanzania in
a study demonstrating the presence of neutralizing antibodies to Zika virus. The first outbreak of
the disease outside of Africa and Asia was in 2007, on the island of Yap in the Federated States of
Micronesia. Prior to the outbreak there were only 14 cases of human Zika virus that had been
documented worldwide. The condition was characterized by rash, conjunctivitis, and arthralgia, and
was initially thought to be dengue. (WHO, 2016)

The Role Of The Church In The Catholic Church
The role of the Catholic Church going to the peripheries is huge for the community. First off, the
Catholic Church helps those in need by donating to people who don t have shelter, or people who
don t have food or water to drink. They also help by holding volunteer work, so people who want to
help those in need can by being there. Another thing the Catholic Churchdoes to help those in need
is praying. Some people get together to help those in need by asking the Lord to help them.
Others pray for them by themselves to help for those in need. The Catholic Church is very
generous for being there when people are in need. The Catholic church greatly represents the
Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy. They would help feed the hungry by bringing goods to
those who need it. The Church can give drink to the thirsty by not wasting water. The Catholic
Church helps people to shelter the homeless by collecting supplies they need. They can clothe
the naked by donating clothes to those who don t have enough. The Church can visit the sick
and imprisoned giving blood and spending time volunteering at nursing homes. They bury the
dead by sending a card to to someone who has lost a loved one. Finally, the Catholic Church give
alms to the poor by donating money, like a the poor box in the Church. The Spiritual Works of
Mercy can also represent the Catholic Church helping those in need. Overall, the Corporal and
Spiritual Works of Mercy really represent how the Catholic Church helps those in need, and the
Church is a good role model for all Catholics alike.
Pope Francis is a widely known current Catholic who went to the periphery. Pope Francis has
helped those who are suffering and those who are in need all the time. Pope Francis has helped
and has done many things to comfort and help those struggling. An example of Pope Francis
doing this is his trip to Philadelphia. While he was there, he visited and did many things. One
thing that was very special was on the last day of his trip. He was offered a nice dinner and a good
place to eat. However, he decided he wanted to visit Philadelphia s largest prison and spend his
meal there while he was there, he gave a speech. This probably really touched the prisoners and

Rationalization As The Development Of Western Society And...
Rationalization is a process whereby traditional meanings, values and the mode of thought are
replaced by modern rational ones. Weber sees the development of rationalization as the
development of Western society and modern culture. Individuals become more concerned with
achieving materialistic goals by rational means and by calculating and weighing up all the possible
outcomes. In addition to rationalization, Weber also saw the disenchantment of the world, in which
science and rationality are more highly valued than belief. It is the devaluation of mysticism and the
cultural rationalization, mainly apparent in modern Western societies. Through this rationalization
process, Weber sees an increasing trend towards secularization, bureaucratization and
modernization. For Weber, traditional society was one where the world remains a great enchanted
garden . (The University of Winchester, 2014) He regarded these traditional forms as irrational or
at least non rational. This is because they rely on superstition and magic as a way of explaining the
social world and have no methodical forms of development, but are based on emotions, feelings and
personal insights. The view that rationalization leads to an increasing trend towards secularization
is supported by Wilson (1966), who defines this concept as a process in which religious ways of
thinking, practices and institutions lose significance in modernity. This can be seen in statistics on
church attendance. According to Human

Summary Of Suicide Note By Janice Mirikitani
Nowadays, it seems like we hear a lot about suicide and who did what and all about their life
story. You hear many stories about how no one knew it was coming and they showed no signs. It
is a hard pill to swallow when most of the time you realize that they probably showed countless
amount of signs but it is that no one really paid attention to the signs. Suicide Note was written by
Janice Mirikitani, it is about an Asian American girl who committed suicide. It is often said that she
committed suicide for having a less than perfect grade point average but I think throughout the
poem, it seems like something a little more hiding beneath the cover of this college student s death.
The Suicide Note is a very blunt title for a poem. It is everything you would think it would be and
more. The poem has a little paragraph before it explaining what the poem is based off on a college

did not see it because the college girl was so caught up trying to be perfect for her parents that
she did not think about herself. She did not think about how all these thoughts about her being a

Analysis Of Mickey Mouse Is A Hero Of The Great Gatsby By...
Mickey Mouse is a well loved symbol of the greatness of America. He represents a long carefree
era when everything in the world has gone well for the most prosperous nation on earth. He
symbolises the prosperity of Americans throughout a period when they have dominated the world
both economically and politically.
It is significant that a creature often viewed in other countries as a pest to be eradicated can rise in
the United States of America to become a movie star and a household name. This symbolises the
American dream where everyone (including apparently rodents and quite possibly many other non
human personalities) can expect freedom of speech, freedom of actions and freedom to make an
honest living. It is important to note in this context that the rise to fame and/or riches of an
underdog has long been a popular theme in the folk lore of western countries in general but of
America in particular.
Not content to make a hero out of one rodent, the American public has also idolised Mickey s
partner Minnie. It is interesting to note that Mickey and Minnie frequently demonstrate behavior
not unlike human courtship behavior. It is also interesting to note that this happily unmarried
couple remain perpetually in this state of innocent bliss. This state seems to capture the innocence
of childhood that children do not know they have and adults reminisce about incessantly.
In addition to their role as a platonic couple Mickey and Minnie demonstrate socially acceptable

Concentric Zone Theory
I. CONCENTRIC ZONE THEORY Burgess s concentric zone theory was presented in 1924. He
presented a descriptive urban land use model that divided cities in a set of concentric circles
expanding from downtown to the suburbs. His representation came from Burgess observations of
various American cities, especially Chicago. Burgess model assumes a relationship between the
socio economic status of households and the distance from the Central Business District. The
further from the district, the better the quality of housing, but the longer the commuting time.
Making this Accessing better housing is done at the expense of longer commuting times and costs
as well. According to Burgess, urban growth is a process of expansion and reconversion of land
uses, with a tendency of each inner zone to expand in the outer zone. According to Burgess theory,
a large cityis divided in six concentric zones, Burgess s model has its cons according to critics. It
is said to be a product of its time. That is, it won t work the same with present cities. The model
was developed when American cities were growing very fast and when motorized transportation
was still uncommon as most people used public transit. Thus the concept cannot be applied to those
from the second half to the twentieth century where highways have enabled urban development to
escape the reconversion process and to take place directly in the suburbs. The model in this case
was developed for American cities and is limited elsewhere.

1. What caused the change in HR with exercise? Muscles use more oxygen and glucose from the
blood with increased movement. This produces wastes that decrease blood pH below the normal
range causing an increase in heart rate. The heart rate increase delivers blood to the lungs and
kidneys more quickly so these organs can remove the wastes from the body. The faster the muscles
use energy and create waste, the faster the heart must pump blood. 2. Discuss the effect of venous

Wealth distribution in South Dakota is a diverse and complicated problem. Nationwide there is a
growing concern that there is a shift of money to a small minority of people. Although, South
Dakota may be experiencing this wealth inequality, it is difficult to pinpoint whether this

addition the high percentage of farms will be examined to see how the wealth is distributed and

The Functional Equivalent Of The Border And The Fourth...
The functional equivalent of the border and the Fourth Amendment closely tie together in the fact
that although the government has the power to conduct warrantless border searches, in the essence
of the law, the Fourth Amendment strictly prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures and
requires a warrant to be present to conduct the search. Understand when mentioning functional
equivalent , this means the final port of entry after persons and property have entered the United
States. The Fourth Amendment originally enforced the notion that each man s home is his castle
, secure from unreasonable searches and seizures of property by the government. It protects
against arbitrary arrests, and is the basis of the law regarding search warrants, stop and frisk,
safety inspections, wiretaps, and other forms of surveillance, as well as being central to many
other criminal law topics and to privacy law. (Cornell University Law School, 2015)
Functional Equivalent border searches can happen under (2) circumstances: (1) the search was
immediately conduct after crossing the border and (2) there is no probable cause suggestion
tampering. This can have both positive and negative outcomes. Extended border searches are
conducted when there is reason to believe that the person and/or property has been compromised
and a potential threat to national security has been breached. When conducting possible searches
and seizers, the Fourth Amendment is made to protect unreasonable conduct. Due to

BFF (best friend forever) rather than a parent. He says parents are losing control. He states, In
some cases parents already stressed from long days at work and having no desire to spend
precious time squabbling with children. and most importantly, They gave up on raising children
in exchange for peace and quiet on the home front. This rings true in some cases but spanking
and using physical punishment isn t the way to get your kids to stop arguing or resisting. I take
this experience first hand. I believe that the reason children these days are fighting their parents
is because it is a different world, society is changing. In today s world you give respect to get

they have an actual, understandable reason why, then I understand and I listen. In today s world

but before that I have a quote here which fit on my topic, We have hearing aids in order to fix our
ear. We have lasik surgery in order to fix our eyes, People... you can t fix stupid! by Ron White . So
let me start, what comes into your mind when you hear the word lasik? So basically lasik means
an eye correct vision which needs a laserto reshape the inner cornea. There are three types of eye
conditions, the nearsighted, farsighted and astigmatism. So first let us know the nearsighted or
(myopia), basically means that people who are nearsighted they can t clearly see a text or a thing
that is too far from them and they need to move closer in that certain area, nearsighted people
usually experiencing blur vision when they are far well they can read it but then the text itself
will turn into a blur one. It can be a common cause of having a blur vision. So here is a sample
picture of myopia. The second is farsighted or (hyperopia), basically means that people who are
farsighted they are unable to see things clearly they can see it but it needs to have a good distance

Essay on Valley Winery Case Study
Case One:
Valley Winery
Valley Winery, a favorable wine company, hired Pat Waller as their sales manager of the San
Francisco region s chain division. Although the company has had increasing sales for the past
several years, Valley Winery has its fair share of problems that have Waller worried. He is very
aware of the competitiveness within the wine industry and is concerned that Valley Winery will not
be able to continue consistently increasing their sales.
Turnover rate is the number one issue at Valley Winery. Every problem the company has bleeds
into the turnover rate. The company s turnover rate is currently at almost 100 percent a year; this is
a huge issue that Waller must address. The existing sales rep employment average... Show more

With so much responsibility given to one person, effectiveness becomes a concern. The person in
charge of hiring judges candidates based on youth and physical characteristics, rather than
legitimate credentials. There is no consistency or checks and balances within the hiring process.
Essentially, a single person is making all of the hiring decisions without any guidelines from upper
management. Hiring sales reps based on qualifications would correlate with a reduction in the
turnover rate.
The fourth and final issue is the quotas set for the sales reps. Unattainable quotas are the issue
behind the turnover rate and the aggressive sales attitudes. Right now, each sales rep is required
to meet monthly display quotas for different lines of products. It is nearly impossible for the reps
to meet their quotas, which leads to exaggerating numbers and tampering with competitors
products. Sales reps are discouraged by unrealistic quotas and overwhelming workloads; a
combination that leads to low employee morale and high turnover. In order to solve his laundry list
of issues, Pat Waller must do some serious restructuring, beginning with the hiring process. Waller
needs to begin recruit top performers from competing firms. Because the wine industry is
incredibly competitive, this will help the Valley Winery stay on top. Also, the interview process
needs to be more thorough and realistic.

Divine Fate In Oedipus The King
Throughout history philosophers and common men have wondered where they fit in the world.
Ideas of divine guidance and self made men are prevalent in many societies dating back to pre
biblical times. These ideas are explored in Sophocles Oedipus The King as Oedipus runs from his
destiny only to come full circle to the gods plans for him. The symbolic and literal struggle of
Oedipusfate puts into perspective the limits of free will and how much is pre determined.
Working through the text, it is first clear that the gods are rerouting Oedipus to meet the truth. The
curse Apollo places on Thebes initiates the search for Laios murderer, opening the gate for
Oedipus to discover the truth. Interestingly enough, the curse is not placed until years after the
murder took place, which makes it seem as if the gods wished for Oedipus to think he had
escaped his fate only to be shown the fragility of his perceived free will. Not only does Oedipus
take interest in solving the crime, but note the irony in his words even if god had not forced the
issue, (Line 307) when the reader knows full well this is the gods doing all along. He goes on to
curse the man saying, He is our sickness. He poisons us...be cursed with a life as evil as he is
(Line 292 299). This is all truly pulling to read, knowing as the reader that he condemns himself.
Perhaps Oedipus s false illusion of being in control is reflective of the idea that in our own lives.
We have no control over how what we say about other people may fall back on ourselves. Our
very lives may fall to where we least wish them to be, to a place we would unknowingly despise.
The next indicator of Oedipus limited range of free will and ultimate downfall is the speech of
Tiresias. Although he may be blind he has insight into the will of the gods and he knows of
Oedipus darkness. He possesses the knowledge to destroy Oedipus reality, and by extension his
freedom to live his life. In an effort to spare him, Tiresias refuses to speak knowing that the most
terrible knowledge is the kind it pays no wise man to possess. (Line 383) The key point to be made
is that the idea of free will in Oedipus life is that of ignorance. The burden of the truth of his pre
destined fate is one

The Effects Of Sexual Arousal On Mental Disorders
A paraphilia is known as a medical category which medical doctors created in the 1920s to
describe abnormal sexual arousal to individuals, objects, or situations that are not considered
normal or typical behavior in a community and causes personal distress or serious problems.
Quinsey (2011) noted that the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders includes
paraphilias as mental disorders. He stated that this is because they are known to include a
behavioral or psychological dysfunction which can create significant distress or disability. He
explains a primary feature in most paraphilias is that the sexual behaviors most often involve a
person who did not consent to the specific behavior. This is especially true in exhibitionism,
frotteurism, and voyeurism. According to Kafka and Hennen (2002), The most common types of
paraphilias are exhibitionism (exposing ones genitals to an unexpected person or performing
sexual acts that can be watched by others) voyeurism (urges to observe an unsuspecting person
who is naked, disrobing, or engaging in sexual activates, or in activates usually considered to be a
private nature), pedophilia (sexual preference for prepubescent children or engaging in child sexual
abuse), sexual masochism (wanting to be humiliated, beaten, bound, or otherwise made to suffer for
sexual pleasure) sadism (in which the pain or humiliation of a person is sexually exciting),

The Definition of Organic Foods Should Be Redefined Essay
Organic versus non organic foods are always being debated to whether they are worth the extra
cost. This seems to be an easy question, at first, but begs a more in depth analysis to come to a
conclusion. Organic definitions can vary by government, company and even individuals. Many
people have their own ideas of what organic means. My personal definition, before this research
assignment, was that organic products were grown with no pesticides, chemical additives, or
preservatives and grown in a humane way. Meaning that if it said 100% organic, that is what was
meant. This however, is not the case when it comes to the government s definition of organic,

If these claims prove to be true, as some research suggests, then this may be well worth the cost
if one can afford them. In the case of the meat we eat, how do we know that it is truly organic
(hence the necessity for a more strict definition), and why do we even need it to be? There are
several reasons for us to eat organic meat, depending on what the definition ultimately ends up
being. One reason to eat organic meat is the fact of the spread of Bovine spongiform
encephalopathy or what is more commonly known as Mad Cow Disease. There is a human
form of this disease called New Variant Creutzfeldt Jakob disease (NCJD). This disease was first
brought to light in the 1990 s in Europe by the discovery of link between these two diseases

called, Scrapie which is similar to BSE, and could explain the reason for the infection to have
started in cows, eventually jumping to humans (Freudenrich, 6). The theory of how this disease
came about varies, but one of the most prevalent relates to a protein called a prion . These prions

How Did Lord Cromer Respond To The British Occupation Of...
In the village of Musha in the province of upper Egypt in 1906 to the father of Hajji Ibrahim Qutb,
a prominent farmer Sayyid Qutb was born. During this time in Egypt, the British were present and
being obnoxiously dominant in their attitude and in their understanding to the rights of their
presence. In 1882, when the British took occupation of Egypt, there had already been a well
developed sense of nationalism throughout the Egyptian country. British Lord Cromer took
responsibility for economic reforms, that did help to overcome existing debt of Egypt, but
resulted in making the rich, richer and the poor poorer. Those who mainly benefited from these
reforms were the upper and upper middle classes. At the upper class level, there was a benefit
from the British presence do to the capital that was brought in and shared, however the remainder
of the Egyptian population refused to accept British style reforms and resisted the British
occupation. This resistance to the British occupation resulted in newspapers raising the
nationalistic emotional ideologies of the lower and middle class into a hatred of foreigners.
Newspapers during this time in 1906 were claiming that the British were taking away jobs for the

not have started his piece by emphasizing the horrors that the first responders voluntarily walked

of first responders before he even began arguing his point that first responders must be honored
at Ground Zero on the ten year anniversary of 9/11. Another powerful technique that Burke uses
to persuade his audience is he uses quotes. Burke uses quotes from people who were at the scene
of 9/11 themselves. Burke quotes a woman who was descending from the 89th floor who said
When I saw the firemen I knew we would be all right. By using quotes like this, Burke shows the

follow the same story plots and ending. Both stories begin with the Whos decorating for Christmas.
Then, the Grinch is seen stealing the Christmas materials, and, finally, both movies end with the
Grinch having a change of heart and returning the Christmas presents to Whoville. Because the
animated and non animated versions of How the Grinch Stole Christmas have similar scripts and
story plots, they can be easily compared and recognized as two versions of the same book.
Moreover, these two films also have differences that can be contrasted. First, the non animated
version is much longer that the animated version. The non animated version is close to three times
as long as the other. This is due to the extensive background that is given in the non animated film.
For example, in the non animated version, they discuss the Grinch s past and how he arrived in
Whoville. Also, the non animated movie introduced many more characters that have distinct
qualities.

Book Review of Eight Men Out The Black Sox and the 1919 World Series by Eliot Asinof
In the golden age of baseball, where the heroes of the diamond
became gods, an incident that would scar baseball for life was committed in
the World Series of 1919. Eight men of the Chicago White Soxteam
conceived a plot to throw the World Series for a sum of $80,000. A novel
written by Eliot Asinof, entitled Eight Men Out: The Black Sox and the 1919
World Series, examines the events leading up to the fix, well through the rest
of the players lives.
The players on the Chicago White Sox team of 1919 had many
reasons to believe they were being unfairly treated. One of which was their
poor salaries as compared to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

as to have a chef at there disposal while at the ball park.
Asinof projects the impression that if the players had viewed
themselves as being fairly treated, or at least able to seek employment with
another team, which was prohibited through the reserve clause located within
every players contract, then this tragic story in baseball lore would have never
come about.
The second theme to which Asinof speaks is of the series itself.
Before the series ever even began the gamblers were seemingly stringing
the players along, all except for Arnold Rothstein. He was the only participant
in the fix to uphold his end of the deal, and give the players the money they
agreed upon. But as was the case so often, a fellow gambler, and the man
the players trusted skimmed money off the top and only delivered the players
$10,000 of the $40,000 provided up front.
When the series started, the players were prepared to fulfill their end of
the deal, even though they didn t receive their payment in advance. In fact
the first two games of the series went exactly according to plan. The superior
White Sox team of Chicago successfully threw the first two games of the
series. The third game was a turning point for the player s morale. After
being overly frustrated with the treatment they were receiving

Literature Review Of Globalization
Up to now the literature review has given an insight into the concept of globalization, and the
understanding of several academics in the light of how this phenomenon developed over the years.
It is then essential to cover what the economic benefits of globalization are, and how these may
impact a sector or company. Most of the literature study s that have been written on the economic
benefits of globalizationhave been after 2006. The reason is because the studies used the
globalization index which was created by Dreher (2006) then further developed by Dreher (2008)
again. Many of the empirical studies used this index as indicator as a base to form their findings.
Beck (1992) in his findings talks about the effects of globalization on ... Show more content on

He goes on to imply that business must make global strategies that would involve making
investments in as much countries as possible. Rajdeep, Murali Robert (2008) agrees with Tallman,
as he extends his view that these strategies must become more flexible and effective to comply with
needs of the changing environment.
The perspective of Driffield and Karoglou (2016) on this issue, discuss that the biggest restriction to
free trade and globalization is uncertainty. Therefore, many organizations will hinder when it comes
making strategic choices about their financial states. Subsequently they derive that one of the most
positive impacts that has occurred because globalization is the creation of the free market. They
say that the creation of this market has made it easier for organization in the car industry to easily
import and export the good that they require from other border countries.
Impact on employment
Furthermore, there is also literature written on the impact free trade has on the gears of an
economic state. One of the components is the effects on employment, and how the free movement
of goods has impacted on this section. Bassanini and Duval 2006 derive from their works that there
is a direct link between free market and unemployment. However, they adhere that there isn t a lot
of research done on the surrounding area. Davis (1998) believes that the advancements in free trade
can destroy employment, and have severe consequences. Furthermore, some

Book Reports On The Alchemist
Between the summer reading choice and novel synopses, The Alchemist was most interesting to
me, but I didn t know what the alchemist was. So I researched on it before I read this book. The
alchemist is a person who studies how to transfer metal into gold, so I thought, according to the
subject the story would be about a journey of studying how to transfer lead into gold. But my
prediction was completely wrong until now. Transforming lead into gold takes just a few parts
of the story. The main character, Santiago is a shepherd who is well educated. He is well
educated because he was preparing for a prestige. I didn t get why Santiago wants to be a
shepherd. The shepherd was a humble career, and prestige was a good career. Shepherds were
mostly not educated. The merchant s daughter asked him how did you learn to read. From that
question, I learned that Shepherd is not educated. The only good thing about Shepherd is
traveling. Just because of the dream, it is not right to change career. If I was Santiago, I would
just keep preparing prestige. The dream is a quiet appealing to one s taste, but the dream cannot
stop my career. From page 18, Santiago meets an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

merchant at first didn t appreciate it. The reason was too small that I laugh at it. The Merchant
was scared of the life change. He didn t want to change his life because he was used in current
life, but later on he makes one position to begin selling tea in the crystal glasses saying Maktub

The Evolution of the Invisible Man in Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison
In everyone s life, there are growing experiences. People evolve not only physically as they get
older but also ideologically. Perhaps they might become wiser or shrug off the trendy doctrines that
may have tried to shape their destiny long ago. Ralph Ellison illustrates this struggle of change in
Invisible Man. The novel begins with a naГЇve young, black man in the South caught under the evil
boot of racism. As the novel progresses, the reader sees that the ideas portrayed in the novel evolve
from inherently pro communism to anti communism by the ending. Although appears solely as a
diatribe against racism, it embodies an evolution of political thought and also ... Show more content

It was a hundred dollar bill.(Ellison 68).
This symbolizes how Norton is exploiting Trueblood. It is a protest against the exploitation of the
worker which is a very communist idea. In order to almost live the experience of perhaps
committing incest against his own daughter, Norton exploits Trueblood. In communist ideology,
Norton would perhaps embody the evil, corrupt capitalist taking advantage of the working class.
However, Norton is not the total capitalist that he perhaps embodies. After Ivan drops him off at
his rooms on the campus, Norton defends the narrator against Dr. Bledsoe s attacks. Dr. Bledsoe,
however, has his own designs, and even though he may appear as a friend of the worker, Bledsoe
is the true capitalist robber baron.
But I ve made my place in it and I ll have every Negro in the country hanging on tree limbs if it
means staying where I am. (Ellison 141). Bledsoe states that he will not stop at anything to assert
his own supremacy, even if it means stomping on his own race and setting back his people s
cause for ages. He believes himself to be the manifest of all authority and considers himself
supreme over everyone. Even though Bledsoe appears at first to be a servile man, he is deep inside
an insidious plotter and has designs on subverting the entire establishment for his own ends. He
intends to exploit his society and the common people, which is something communism is against. At

Anne Frank s Time Of The Secret Annex
Anne Frank, born on June 12th, 1929, was a young Jewish girl that lived in Amsterdam,
Netherlands. Anne lived a quiet life her small home with her father Otto, mother Edith, and her
sister Margot. She attended school, but was restricted due to her religious faith. Because Anne was
Jewish, she was unable to streetcars or any transportation, could only shop at specific times, and
forbidden to attend any form of entertainment. On July 19, 1942, her family moved to the Secret
Annex, to protect themselves from the Nazi soldiers (Anne FrankBook). Here they were joined by
4 additional people. Three who were from the Van Pels, Augueste, Herman and Peter, who she
referred to as Petronella, Hermann, and Peter van Daan in the novel, and Fritz... Show more content

In addition, another psychological influence that affected Anne s interpersonal communication with
those around her is biological cycle. In the beginning of her time in the Secret Annex, Anne began
to go through puberty. I forgot to mention the important news that I m probably going to get my
period soon. I can tell because I keep finding a whitish smear in my panties, and my Mother
predicted that it would start soon (59) . However, given her difficult relationship with her mother,
...that s how her heart sank when she realized there was no more love between us (95) , she was
unable to tell her about this new discovery. This is an example of how a biological cycle affected
her interpersonal communication with her mother.
Furthermore, another psychological influence was Anne s development of trust. When in the
Secret Annex, Anne and her family relied on a number of people, such as Miep, Bep, and those
within the Annex, to keep their location secret, and for protection. For example, Anne s opinion of
Dussel changed when she found out he was keeping food from the rest of them. It s absolutely
disgraceful that Dussel, whom we took in to save from the destruction, should stuff himself behind
backs and not give us anything (97) . In this instant, we can see that Anne lost her trust in Dussel.
Later on, she becomes bitter towards him, Mr. Dussel makes up everything as he goes along, and
anyone wishing to contradict His Majesty had better think twice. In Albert

Comparison of the Movie and Book Of Mice and Men Essay
Comparison of the Movie and Book Of Mice and Men
In Class we watched two movies based on a book we read called Of Mice and Men. Both of the
movies were very similar to the book. In I was able to hear exact lines from the book in the two
movies. In the book and in the second movie Curley s wife was not given a name. She was not
given a name to symbolize that she was nothing more than a possession of Curley. Curley s wife
was given a name in the first movie. Her name was May. I think that the first movie we watched
best depicted her because of the way she dressed. Lennie was not much different between the book
and the two movies. However I think that Lennie s disability was best depicted in the second
movie. I think this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do not think the book did a good job on describing Curley. I think the second movie did the best
rendering of Crooks. In the second movie it was very obvious that he had a crooked back. The
book and the two movies all did a good job of showing Crooks s loneliness. The incident in Weed
was portrayed differently in the book and the two movies. In the book the incident in weed was
only talked about. The first movie started out with Lennie and George running away from the group
who were trying to catch them. The second movie started out with the girl in the red dress running
away from Lennie. The incident I Crook s room was pretty much the same with the book and the
first movie. It started out with Lennie going in because he saw a light. Then Candy went in and
they talked about their dream. Crooks offers to work on the farm for free. Then George went in
to get Lennie to go to the bunkhouse. Last, Curley s wife went in and wanted to know what
really happened to Curley s hand . In the second movie Curley s wife never goes into Crook s
room to ask about Curley s hand. The book and the two movies all portrayed the killing of the
puppy and Curley s wife in a similar fashion. Lennie accidentally killed the puppy while playing
with it and tries to bury it. Curley s wife went in and coaxes Lennie into a conversation about there
dreams. Curley s wife lets Lennie touch her soft hair which leads to her death. The scene in the

DACA is a program that allows young people from other countries to come live in the U.S with no risk of being deported. This program has helped roughly 665,000 people live in the U.S (Wolgin). Although it has become harder to live in the U.S many people still try and enter because they know America gives them an opportunity that no other country does. This is what continues to make America great. While a constant flow of people coming to America seems like a great idea to most, President elect Trump thinks the U.S need to limit the people it let in. During his campaign he said he would repeal DACA and kick out all illegal immigrants. His thought process behind this is that it will free up jobs for Americans. Trump is right that it will free up jobs as roughly 8 million illegal immigrants currently have jobs , but the issue is that Americans won t have the proper training to take all of these jobs (Krogstad). This will lead to companies not producing what they should and being forced to lay off people. So overall by kicking out all immigrants Trump will be costing many Americans jobs and could lead to another depression. Another thing that Trump has said he will do is build a wall around the U.S and Mexico. This wall will cost millions, maybe even billions of dollars, yet Trump has not elaborated on how it will be paid for. He has said he will get Mexico to pay for it and that he has a plan to do it, but nobody knows what that is. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Civic Duties of Teenagers Quinn Bailey 3/4/2013 Civic Duties of Teenagers Introduction Civic duty is the obligation to each of us to leave our community in a better condition than we found it. Every person in our country has rights, and with those rights come responsibilities. That is what civic duty is, your rights and responsibilities that help contribute to society. Every single day we perform these tasks to help better our country as a whole. Teenagers have a huge role in this circle, whether they believe it or not. Teens don t often think about how big their role is in society... said Bailey. When I was younger, I was in all sorts community projects. Bailey would like to see more teens signing up to volunteer, but he is very strong about his opinion that it should be a choice. He thinks adults should steer teenagers in the right direction, and then let them make the decisions. Being a teenager is a good time to learn how to make responsible decisions. It should be voluntary, says Bailey. You can lead a horse to water, but you can t make them drink. My Civic Duties I find myself very lucky to live in the United States of America. Sadly, in many other countries teenagers like me are much less fortunate and have fewer rights. What is even more sad to me is that many teenagers take for granted the rights they inherit as U.S. citizens. One example is that some teens actually take up the opportunity to drop out of high school whenever they get the chance. It upsets me that they don t continue with their education and become a better educated citizen, especially considering it is free. Machan says humans should use nature for their own wants and feel no guilt or shame about it. He feels that it is okay for human beings to keep destroying the planet with pollution, and the toxic fumes and chemicals that we pump into the air we breathe every day. Machan believes that because human beings are nature themselves, we should be able to use nature however we please and indulge in activities just for our own personal enjoyment and happiness. There are many environmental activists concerned with the disappearing rain forests and scientists who study global warmingwho would be appalled at Tibor R. Imagine you are a scientist who studies global warming and have seen the effects of human activity on the planet. You have studied and watched the temperatures rising every year, the ice caps slowly melting causing sea levels to rise and whole species becoming in fear of extinction. • 11. The Proposition That Different Personalities Contribute... The purpose of this assignment is to explore the Proposition that Different Personalities contribute to Effective Teams . Learning styles is defined as the process that learners use to sort and process information (Cano, Garton Raven, 1992). Eysenck (1978) who developed the personality theories of Extraversion (E), Neuroticism (N) and Psychoticism (P), noted that personality and learningare closely related. Furthermore it was also found that there is a large overlap between personality and learning styles(Jackson Lawty Jones, 1996) and Duff, Boyle, Dunleavy and Ferguson (2004) state that an individuals learning orientation and approach to learning, is partially determined by their personality. There is a lot of research (Duff Duffy, 2002; Lhori Posey, 2003; Coffield et al., 2004; Reynold Vince, 2007; Welsh et al., 2007; Hornyak et al., 2007; Herbert Stenfors, 2007; Sievers, 2007; Hyde, 2007; Kayes, 2007; Garcia et al., 2007; Demirbas Demirkan, 2007; Armstrong Mahmud, 2008; Li et al., 2008) that shows people have a dominant learning style but can also have a mixture of others. In this assignment I will provide evidence off different theories which support learning styles and investigate different learning models such as Kolbs (1984) and Honey and Mumford (1986). • 14. The Role Of The Church In The Catholic Church The role of the Catholic Church going to the peripheries is huge for the community. First off, the Catholic Church helps those in need by donating to people who don t have shelter, or people who don t have food or water to drink. They also help by holding volunteer work, so people who want to help those in need can by being there. Another thing the Catholic Churchdoes to help those in need is praying. Some people get together to help those in need by asking the Lord to help them. Others pray for them by themselves to help for those in need. The Catholic Church is very generous for being there when people are in need. The Catholic church greatly represents the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy. They would help feed the hungry by bringing goods to those who need it. The Church can give drink to the thirsty by not wasting water. The Catholic Church helps people to shelter the homeless by collecting supplies they need. They can clothe the naked by donating clothes to those who don t have enough. The Church can visit the sick and imprisoned giving blood and spending time volunteering at nursing homes. They bury the dead by sending a card to to someone who has lost a loved one. Finally, the Catholic Church give alms to the poor by donating money, like a the poor box in the Church. The Spiritual Works of Mercy can also represent the Catholic Church helping those in need. • 15. Rationalization As The Development Of Western Society And... Rationalization is a process whereby traditional meanings, values and the mode of thought are replaced by modern rational ones. Weber sees the development of rationalization as the development of Western society and modern culture. Individuals become more concerned with achieving materialistic goals by rational means and by calculating and weighing up all the possible outcomes. In addition to rationalization, Weber also saw the disenchantment of the world, in which science and rationality are more highly valued than belief. It is the devaluation of mysticism and the cultural rationalization, mainly apparent in modern Western societies. Through this rationalization process, Weber sees an increasing trend towards secularization, bureaucratization and modernization. For Weber, traditional society was one where the world remains a great enchanted garden . (The University of Winchester, 2014) He regarded these traditional forms as irrational or at least non rational. This is because they rely on superstition and magic as a way of explaining the social world and have no methodical forms of development, but are based on emotions, feelings and personal insights. The view that rationalization leads to an increasing trend towards secularization is supported by Wilson (1966), who defines this concept as a process in which religious ways of thinking, practices and institutions lose significance in modernity. This can be seen in statistics on church attendance. According to Human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He represents a long carefree era when everything in the world has gone well for the most prosperous nation on earth. He symbolises the prosperity of Americans throughout a period when they have dominated the world both economically and politically. It is significant that a creature often viewed in other countries as a pest to be eradicated can rise in the United States of America to become a movie star and a household name. This symbolises the American dream where everyone (including apparently rodents and quite possibly many other non human personalities) can expect freedom of speech, freedom of actions and freedom to make an honest living. It is important to note in this context that the rise to fame and/or riches of an underdog has long been a popular theme in the folk lore of western countries in general but of America in particular. Not content to make a hero out of one rodent, the American public has also idolised Mickey s partner Minnie. It is interesting to note that Mickey and Minnie frequently demonstrate behavior not unlike human courtship behavior. It is also interesting to note that this happily unmarried couple remain perpetually in this state of innocent bliss. • 23. Concentric Zone Theory I. CONCENTRIC ZONE THEORY Burgess s concentric zone theory was presented in 1924. He presented a descriptive urban land use model that divided cities in a set of concentric circles expanding from downtown to the suburbs. His representation came from Burgess observations of various American cities, especially Chicago. Burgess model assumes a relationship between the socio economic status of households and the distance from the Central Business District. The further from the district, the better the quality of housing, but the longer the commuting time. Making this Accessing better housing is done at the expense of longer commuting times and costs as well. According to Burgess, urban growth is a process of expansion and reconversion of land uses, with a tendency of each inner zone to expand in the outer zone. According to Burgess theory, a large cityis divided in six concentric zones, Burgess s model has its cons according to critics. It is said to be a product of its time. That is, it won t work the same with present cities. The model was developed when American cities were growing very fast and when motorized transportation was still uncommon as most people used public transit. Thus the concept cannot be applied to those from the second half to the twentieth century where highways have enabled urban development to escape the reconversion process and to take place directly in the suburbs. The model in this case was developed for American cities and is limited elsewhere. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hiring sales reps based on qualifications would correlate with a reduction in the turnover rate. The fourth and final issue is the quotas set for the sales reps. Unattainable quotas are the issue behind the turnover rate and the aggressive sales attitudes. Right now, each sales rep is required to meet monthly display quotas for different lines of products. • 32. Divine Fate In Oedipus The King Throughout history philosophers and common men have wondered where they fit in the world. Ideas of divine guidance and self made men are prevalent in many societies dating back to pre biblical times. These ideas are explored in Sophocles Oedipus The King as Oedipus runs from his destiny only to come full circle to the gods plans for him. The symbolic and literal struggle of Oedipusfate puts into perspective the limits of free will and how much is pre determined. Working through the text, it is first clear that the gods are rerouting Oedipus to meet the truth. The curse Apollo places on Thebes initiates the search for Laios murderer, opening the gate for Oedipus to discover the truth. Interestingly enough, the curse is not placed until years after the murder took place, which makes it seem as if the gods wished for Oedipus to think he had escaped his fate only to be shown the fragility of his perceived free will. Not only does Oedipus take interest in solving the crime, but note the irony in his words even if god had not forced the issue, (Line 307) when the reader knows full well this is the gods doing all along. He goes on to curse the man saying, He is our sickness. He poisons us...be cursed with a life as evil as he is (Line 292 299). This is all truly pulling to read, knowing as the reader that he condemns himself. Perhaps Oedipus s false illusion of being in control is reflective of the idea that in our own lives. We have no control over how what we say about other people may fall back on ourselves. Our very lives may fall to where we least wish them to be, to a place we would unknowingly despise. The next indicator of Oedipus limited range of free will and ultimate downfall is the speech of Tiresias. Although he may be blind he has insight into the will of the gods and he knows of Oedipus darkness. He possesses the knowledge to destroy Oedipus reality, and by extension his freedom to live his life. In an effort to spare him, Tiresias refuses to speak knowing that the most terrible knowledge is the kind it pays no wise man to possess. (Line 383) The key point to be made is that the idea of free will in Oedipus life is that of ignorance. The burden of the truth of his pre destined fate is one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Effects Of Sexual Arousal On Mental Disorders A paraphilia is known as a medical category which medical doctors created in the 1920s to describe abnormal sexual arousal to individuals, objects, or situations that are not considered normal or typical behavior in a community and causes personal distress or serious problems. Quinsey (2011) noted that the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders includes paraphilias as mental disorders. He stated that this is because they are known to include a behavioral or psychological dysfunction which can create significant distress or disability. He explains a primary feature in most paraphilias is that the sexual behaviors most often involve a person who did not consent to the specific behavior. This is especially true in exhibitionism, frotteurism, and voyeurism. According to Kafka and Hennen (2002), The most common types of paraphilias are exhibitionism (exposing ones genitals to an unexpected person or performing sexual acts that can be watched by others) voyeurism (urges to observe an unsuspecting person who is naked, disrobing, or engaging in sexual activates, or in activates usually considered to be a private nature), pedophilia (sexual preference for prepubescent children or engaging in child sexual abuse), sexual masochism (wanting to be humiliated, beaten, bound, or otherwise made to suffer for sexual pleasure) sadism (in which the pain or humiliation of a person is sexually exciting), fetishism (use of inanimate objects to gain sexual excitement), transvestic ... In the case of the meat we eat, how do we know that it is truly organic (hence the necessity for a more strict definition), and why do we even need it to be? There are several reasons for us to eat organic meat, depending on what the definition ultimately ends up being. One reason to eat organic meat is the fact of the spread of Bovine spongiform encephalopathy or what is more commonly known as Mad Cow Disease. Literature Review Of Globalization Up to now the literature review has given an insight into the concept of globalization, and the understanding of several academics in the light of how this phenomenon developed over the years. It is then essential to cover what the economic benefits of globalization are, and how these may impact a sector or company. Most of the literature study s that have been written on the economic benefits of globalizationhave been after 2006. The reason is because the studies used the globalization index which was created by Dreher (2006) then further developed by Dreher (2008) again. • 46. Book Reports On The Alchemist Between the summer reading choice and novel synopses, The Alchemist was most interesting to me, but I didn t know what the alchemist was. So I researched on it before I read this book. The alchemist is a person who studies how to transfer metal into gold, so I thought, according to the subject the story would be about a journey of studying how to transfer lead into gold. But my prediction was completely wrong until now. Transforming lead into gold takes just a few parts of the story. The main character, Santiago is a shepherd who is well educated. He is well educated because he was preparing for a prestige. I didn t get why Santiago wants to be a shepherd. The shepherd was a humble career, and prestige was a good career. Shepherds were mostly not educated. The merchant s daughter asked him how did you learn to read. From that question, I learned that Shepherd is not educated. The only good thing about Shepherd is traveling. Just because of the dream, it is not right to change career. If I was Santiago, I would just keep preparing prestige. The dream is a quiet appealing to one s taste, but the dream cannot stop my career. From page 18, Santiago meets an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This moment gave me a lesson. People evolve not only physically as they get older but also ideologically. Perhaps they might become wiser or shrug off the trendy doctrines that may have tried to shape their destiny long ago. Ralph Ellison illustrates this struggle of change in Invisible Man. The novel begins with a naГЇve young, black man in the South caught under the evil boot of racism. As the novel progresses, the reader sees that the ideas portrayed in the novel evolve from inherently pro communism to anti communism by the ending. This symbolizes how Norton is exploiting Trueblood. It is a protest against the exploitation of the worker which is a very communist idea. In order to almost live the experience of perhaps committing incest against his own daughter, Norton exploits Trueblood. In communist ideology, Norton would perhaps embody the evil, corrupt capitalist taking advantage of the working class. However, Norton is not the total capitalist that he perhaps embodies. After Ivan drops him off at his rooms on the campus, Norton defends the narrator against Dr. Bledsoe s attacks. Dr. Bledsoe, however, has his own designs, and even though he may appear as a friend of the worker, Bledsoe is the true capitalist robber baron. But I ve made my place in it and I ll have every Negro in the country hanging on tree limbs if it means staying where I am. (Ellison 141). Bledsoe states that he will not stop at anything to assert his own supremacy, even if it means stomping on his own race and setting back his people s cause for ages. He believes himself to be the manifest of all authority and considers himself supreme over everyone. Even though Bledsoe appears at first to be a servile man, he is deep inside an insidious plotter and has designs on subverting the entire establishment for his own ends. He intends to exploit his society and the common people, which is something communism is against. At ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She was not given a name to symbolize that she was nothing more than a possession of Curley. Curley s wife was given a name in the first movie. Her name was May. I think the second movie did the best rendering of Crooks. In the second movie it was very obvious that he had a crooked back. The book and the two movies all did a good job of showing Crooks s loneliness. The incident in Weed was portrayed differently in the book and the two movies. In the book the incident in weed was only talked about. The first movie started out with Lennie and George running away from the group who were trying to catch them. The second movie started out with the girl in the red dress running away from Lennie. The incident I Crook s room was pretty much the same with the book and the first movie. It started out with Lennie going in because he saw a light. Then Candy went in and they talked about their dream. Crooks offers to work on the farm for free. Then George went in to get Lennie to go to the bunkhouse. Last, Curley s wife went in and wanted to know what really happened to Curley s hand . In the second movie Curley s wife never goes into Crook s room to ask about Curley s hand. The book and the two movies all portrayed the killing of the puppy and Curley s wife in a similar fashion.
